A monk, former member of the Naughty Busters, and the current leader of Bad Ass Temple.
  • Ascended Extra: Being initially introduced as Ichiro's partner in The Dirty Dawg manga, he later joined the main cast and became the leader of his own team.
  • Badass Preacher: Can kick your ass and spout a made up Buddhist teaching on you without breaking a sweat.
  • Blood Knight: Is very prone to picking fights with just about everyone.
  • Bound and Gagged: In "The Heart's Convinction Can't Be Broken!" drama track, his father Shakku wrapped him in a futon and gagged his mouth with a rag, when Kuko got too unruly.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: He was brainwashed by a Ramuda clone who used the True Hypnosis Mic. Under its influence, Kuko fought Ichiro and eventually quit Naughty Busters.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Despite being a heir of the Buddhist temple, he does a lot of things that go against the Buddhist teachings, such as swearing, using physical violence, making up Buddhist quotes on the spot, etc. Despite all that, Kuko was able to master an ascetic life at 14 years old, which his father was unable to do.
  • The Cameo: Briefly appears at the end of both the side B.B & M.T.C and side F.P & M manga as a Division Rap Battle spectator.
  • Cute Little Fangs: He has a set of prominent canines.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: As depicted in the side D.H & B.A.T manga, he beat up a group of thugs and became their leader, making them to do good deeds. Later on, he befriended Ichiro, who was the first person to hold himself in a fistfight against Kuko.
  • Expository Pronoun: Uses sessō, an archaic pronoun, used exclusively by Buddhist monks (translates as "this humble priest").
  • Fiery Redhead: He has red hair befitting his hotheaded personality.
  • Friend to All Children: According to HYPSTER, he occasionally sneaks out of the temple and puts shows for children, using pictures he has drawn.
  • Groin Attack: In the "Dawn of Divisions" manga, after he kicks the mechanical rodeo bull, the bull "responded" by hitting Kuko right in his balls.
  • Image Song:
  • Japanese Delinquents
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He’s foulmouthed, brash, and he frequently gets into fights with his father due to his delinquent behavior, but he has a fierce sense of loyalty and deeply cares for his friends.
  • The Leader: Is the leader of Bad Ass Temple.
  • Lead Singer Plays Lead Guitar: Wants to do this with the band he forms with the other members of Bad Ass Temple in The Block Party.
  • Meditating Under a Waterfall: Does this on occasion, as seen in ARB and the manga. Also roped Sasara into it once.
  • Men Don't Cry: He invokes this while training Jyushi, claiming that it's only alright for a man to cry when his family or friend dies. Kuko goes on to add that tears don't make a man stronger and actually lower his worth.
  • Mystical 108: Befitting his Buddhist background, Kuko occasionally makes a reference to 108 wordly desires in his rap.
  • Mythical Motifs: Dragons. He calls himself "the dragon of Bad Ass Temple" in "Sougyaran BAM", his Hypnosis speakers are shaped like a dragon coiled around a bell, and in side D.H & B.A.T, he is shown wearing a jacket with a dragon on the back.
    • His speakers may be a reference to the tale of Kiyohime. According to the story, Kiyohime fell in love with a Buddhist monk who rejected her, after which she turned into a dragon and killed him in a bell where he hid.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: He went particularly hard on the lead bully who almost pushed his victim off the rooftop, relentlessly pummeling his face into the ground.
  • Power Nullifier: His Rap Ability "Meditation" is able to seal the opponent's ability, preventing its usage.
  • Religious Bruiser: He’s the heir of a notable Buddhist temple, but he’s also a delinquent and a pretty badass rapper to boot.
  • Sink or Swim Mentor: His way of training Jyushi to strengthen his spirit is repeatedly hitting him with Hypnosis Mic attacks. Kuko openly states before they start that a Hypnosis Mic is a powerful weapon that is capable of inflicting serious brain damage.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot Has a dirty mouth unbefitting of a monk.
  • The Slacker: Does everything in his powers to ditch doing the chores around the temple which usually makes his father irate.
  • Trademark Favorite Drink: Green tea, according to Hypnosis Radio. Also has a taste for cola.
  • We Used to Be Friends: With Ichiro, to a degree.

MC Name: 14th Moon
Age: 18
Birthday: April 14th (Aries)
Height: 185cmnote
Rap Ability: Courage
Likes: Amanda, mirrors
Dislikes: Oppressive people, being yelled at, enclosed spaces.
Trademark Favorite Food: Napolitan pasta
A sensitive Visual Kei vocalist of the ArgoξOrchestra band.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Was bullied as a student to the point of needing legal intervention. The bullying, and the bonding he had with his eventual bully over visual kei music prior to that, was what led to the creation of his narcisstic persona.
  • Animal Motifs: Pigs, or more specifically, his pig plushie Amanda. Amanda sits on top of his Hypnosis Mic and his Hypnosis speakers are shaped like tombstones with a pig head mounted on top.
  • Ascended Fanboy: He is a big fan of visual kei and Hitoya encouraged him to pursue music, which led to Jyushi becoming a vocalist in ArgoξOrchestra.
  • Beautiful Singing Voice: His voice is so captivating that after one karaoke session with his classmates, he became the most popular guy and made his newfound friend Iyogi very jealous of him.
  • Companion Cube: Has a beloved stuffed pig named Amanda that he always holds inside his bag, which also acts as a Security Blanket. She even sits on top of his Hypnosis Mic.
  • Chuunibyou: Subverted. He is an active visual kei musician with an occasionally pompous way of speaking, and in his solo song he states that he doesn't care if other people think he is chuuni, he does what he does.
    • Rosho directly calls him that in "Crush Your Mic".
  • Dark and Troubled Past: His bullies targeting Amanda to provoke him led to the death of his grandma. He was so distraught, he was almost Driven to Suicide, but Hitoya manages to help him.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: As a part of his visual kei style, Jyushi dresses in a predominatly dark-colored clothing and stylizes his lyrics accordingly, but in reality, he is pretty much harmless.
  • Determinator: As evident by his character quote. Inspired by Hitoya, Jyushi does everything to persevere even in the most dire situations, whether it be bullies or Kuko's training.
  • Driven to Suicide: After losing his grandmother, Jyushi sends the incriminating evidence on his bullies to Hitoya and prepares to jump off the rooftop. However, Hitoya arrives just in time and manages to convince Jyushi to keep on living.
  • Emo Teen: Is very much one. He has bangs, overdramatic mannerisms, and an interest in visual kei music, and he cries a lot.
  • Expository Pronoun: Uses "ware" in his "Chuunibyou" persona, which is archaic and rarely used in real life. For his usual self, he uses a more gender-neutral and detached "jibun".
  • Gratuitous French: In his Chuunibyou persona, he tends to throw French words in his speech, like "raison d'être".
  • Guyliner: Not particularly evident in his official art, but has said in an episode of Hypnosis Radio that he'd like to film his own visual kei makeup tutorials.
  • Hiding Behind Your Bangs: Jyushi's bangs cover his eye and he is quite shy and meek, outside of his visual kei persona.
  • Hero Worship: Greatly respects Hitoya for standing up for him when he was being bullied, regarding him as his hero.
  • Image Song:
  • Large Ham: Speaks in a grandiose manner, much like a Chuunibyou, and even hands out autographs to wary onlookers as he sings in "Gekkouin -Moonlight Shadow".
  • Lead Singer Plays Lead Guitar: When his former bully poached a guitarist from ArgoξOrchestra, Jyushi picked up a guitar that Hitoya gifted him and performed live, both as a lead vocalist and a lead guitarist.
  • Lovable Coward: Is very easily intimidated after the slightest push, which usually causes him to break into tears.
  • Narcissist: As a part of his persona, Jyushi would look at himself in the mirror a lot, which prompted his classmate to call him a narcissist.
  • Prone to Tears: Despite his grandiose mannerisms, in reality, he's a huge crybaby who breaks down at the slightest inconvenience.
  • Punny Name: His name and surname both contain the characters for "ten" and "four" (in his first name, it's "ten" then "four", meaning "fourteen", and in his surname, it's "four" then "ten", meaning "forty") and his MC name refers to the full moon on the 14th day of the month. Even his nickname in Monster Subjugation, "Matsuyoi", is an archaic term for the 14th day of the 8th month in the lunar calendar.
  • Stronger Than They Look: Despite him looking visibly frail, Jyushi was able to withstand Kuko's Hypnosis Mic (after a few tries, though) and blast him away with his own.
  • That Was Objectionable: According to the April Fools ARB voice lines, Hitoya taught Jyushi to point his finger and yell "Objection" when people try to prank him. He did that on Kuko, which left him quite dumbfounded.
  • Tragic Keepsake: His pig plushie Amanda has become this, after his grandmother died because of the Gang of Bullies.
  • Vocal Dissonance: He pretends to have a deeper voice than he actually does. His real voice makes him sound like a small child.
  • You Sound Familiar: Yuki Sakakihara previously voiced Aogiri Bojo in the "Fight For Your Right" and "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win" drama tracks.

MC Name: Heaven & Hell
Age: 35
Birthday: June 29th (Cancer)
Height: 178cmnote
Rap Ability: Objection
Likes: Islay whiskey, motorcycles, money
Dislikes: Bullying the weak, people who don’t listen, trains, buses
Least Favorite Food: Bean sprouts
A sharp-tongued defense lawyer and an old friend of Jakurai.
  • '50s Hair: Sports a pompadour.
  • The Ace: A professional defense lawyer, who goes above and beyond to win a case. As he states himself, there's no one equal to him in the courtroom.
  • Always Second Best: Considers himself to be that to Jakurai, which Hitoya is very bitter about.
  • Amoral Attorney: Discussed by Kuko, who accuses Hitoya of being a criminal who is sheltering behind the law. Hitoya dismisses it, saying that he simply does what he can within the existing legal system.
  • Attack Reflector: His Rap Ability "Objection" allows him to reflect the opponent's attack back at them.
  • Badass Biker: His Hypnosis speakers take the form of a motorcycle.
  • Bully Hunter: After losing his brother Sora to bullying, Hitoya swore to never pass on a chance to bring down any bully on his way. He always takes on bullying cases pro bono and goes on them as harsh as he legally can.
  • The Cameo: Briefly appears at the end of the side F.P & M manga as a Division Rap Battle spectator.
  • Character Catchphrase: "There are two things that I ___: First, X. Second, Y."
Hitoya: There are two things I can't tolerate. First, romance novels. Second, sharp-sighted brats.
  • Comically Lopsided Rivalry: As Hitoya laments, Jakurai has always been better than him in everything, whether it be in studies, sport, or games.
  • Competition Freak: Holds a grudge against Jakurai for never besting him at anything. The reason why he gave up on medicine and pursued law was partially that he would never be able to be the number one in the same field as Jakurai. This has given him a bit of an Inferiority Superiority Complex, despite being a top lawyer with a flawless win record.
  • Crusading Lawyer: While he will take on just about any case for the right price, he is passionate about defending victims of bullying and will represent them pro bono.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Never misses an opportunity to casually throw a jab at Kuko during their bickering.
  • Duality Motif: As evident by his black-and-white jacket and his catchphrase.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: Jakurai mentions how during the summer camp, he was doing magic tricks and calling himself "Heaven the Magic King". In ARB some of his nicknames were "Hitoya 'Themis' Amaguni" and "Amaguni Moon".
  • Fighting Your Friend: Fights Jakurai prior to and during the 2nd Division Rap Battle.
  • Hello, Attorney!: It's a given for the series with the Cast Full of Pretty Boys.
  • Hidden Depths: Following the death of his brother, Hitoya learned how to play a guitar (after Jakurai's advice) and according to The Block Party, he knows how to play the drums as well. According to Jakurai, he also used to be into card tricks and moonwalking.
  • Image Song:
  • It's Personal: After finding out about the bullies who drove his brother to suicide, Hitoya almost goes after them personally twice. However, both times he's told that Revenge Is Not Justice, first by Jakurai, then by Kuko.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He may be grumpy and sharp-tongued, but he’s also a Bully Hunter who cares for Jyushi deep down.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Only takes on cases he knows he can win.
  • Money Fetish: He loves money a lot and even goes on a tangent, claiming that money is more reliable than God, as it has the ability to overturn even the most dire situation where prayer holds nothing.
  • Must Have Caffeine: Hitoya likes his coffee and takes it very seriously. He has a top-grade coffee machine and beans in his office, and god forbid you serve him a bad-tasting cup.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite his disinterest in visual kei, he takes Jyushi to a concert in an attempt to cheer him up. He also partakes in a board game with Saburo and Jakurai in the Mixed Up drama track.
  • Punny Name: "Amaguni" is the alternate reading for "tengoku", which means "heaven" in Japanese. The kanji for "Hitoya" is the second character in "hell" ("jigoku"), and can also mean "prison".
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: Downplayed in comparison to other suit-wearing characters, but Hitoya looks pretty snazzy in his checkerboard-themed outfit.
  • Smoking Is Cool: He is the smoker of Bad Ass Temple.
  • Talking Down the Suicidal: Does this to Jyushi.
  • Team Dad: Serves as something of a father figure for Kuko and Jyushi.
  • Token Adult: Kind of. While his teammates aren’t minors, they could still be considered teenagers (Kuko is 19 while Jyushi is 18), whereas Hitoya is significantly older than them at 35, thus he could serve as this for Bad Ass Temple.
  • Trademark Favorite Drink: Islay whiskey.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Averted. Despite his grudge against Jakurai, Hitoya still considers him a friend and even congratulates him with winning the 1st Division Rap Battle.
