Warrior Heroes - Tank Heroes - Assassin Heroes - Mage Heroes - Marksman Heroes - Support Heroes
This is a page to list Support-classed heroes in Honor of Kings and Arena of Valor, as there are some overlaps.
A character whose name is italicized in the folder means that they're exclusive to the Chinese server of Honor of Kings, thus there may be some inconsistencies in their lore or skill names. They will be updated accordingly once the character is released in the global version. Bolded character names signify characters exclusive to the Global server of Honor of Kings.
Present in both games
Dolia (朵莉亚)

"Aah... The waves and the sea breeze make it a beautiful day!"
Debut game: Honor of Kings
Faction: Neutral (although probably related to the Red Hawk pirates of Navenia)
Original Information: Dolia is an original character to Honor of Kings
Honor of Kings Bio: Dolia is a mermaid born as an Enforcer to protect the deep seas to protect the sea's peace and tranquility, gifted with the sweet voice to sing and soothe the mind of people. While she is expected to do great things for her clan, she ends up forming a friendship with Fate clan's Heino after she saved him from a shipwreck. She often sneaks and visits Heino's hometown of Navenia to play. One day, a group of sea beasts ravages the town, and Dolia needs to find the legendary 'Mermaid's Song' to soothe the beasts. With Heino's ability to travel through time, they travel to the future where Heino has aged into an old man. As it turns out, the Mermaid's Song is the memories of the lives of Heino and Dolia. Singing it will cause them to lose their memories, but Dolia does it anyway and repels the beasts.
Without her memories, Dolia has to restart her friendship and hangs around in Navenia. When she does meet Heino again, he ends up being skeptical and not believing what she said. With the help of a witch, she sneaks into the Red Hawk pirates' ship, becomes acquainted with Alessio, Biron, and Mayene, and helps out Heino in solving a plague crisis. They will start a new adventure at this point, although Dolia and Heino's relationship becomes more like a rocky, lighthearted love-hate one.
Arena of Valor Bio: Throughout her wandering as a mermaid, unclear at which point in time, before or after singing the Mermaid's Song, Dolia also ends up in the neighboring region of Athanor. In there, she swims around the coasts of the Norman Kingdom and Ramboat city. However, she also notices that there is an anomaly of rampaging sea beasts around her. Therefore, she often finds herself helping sailors from drowning from the attacks of these sea beasts. She has at least two heroes that she saved this way: Mist Islands' Tachi, who was temporarily brainwashed by the sea beasts (she needs the help of his friend, Aoi), and Billow, a son of a sailor possessed by another sea beast, turning into a rampaging killer; Dolia's song manages to keep the possession at bay, and the rest about his recovery is up to Billow.
Dolia is a Support hero who transforms into a mermaid with a fish tail when she enters her domain of water. With her songs, she can either disrupt enemies or support her team by instantly recovering her ally's cooldown timer.
- Her passive is Mermaid's Gift/Gift of the Merfolk. If Dolia walks into a water (like the river or something she creates with her skill), she turns into a mermaid with a fish tail, reducing slow effect by 50% and steadily recovering both her HP and Mana. Her attack also becomes a water cannon that deals splash damage. She also replaces her Recovery option with 'Mermaid's Gift/Gift of the Merfolk': She can't heal herself, but she can create a pact with a chosen ally so when she uses her ultimate, she prioritizes this chosen ally.
- Her first skill is Ode/Echoes of Glee. Dolia sings and unleashes four waves that spread forward, dealing damage and slowing enemies. The last wave is stronger than the first 3 waves. The waves also trigger return Echoes that cause damage to enemies who are near the enemies touched. And if Dolia uses the skill in the body of water, the waves will cause knockback to enemies hit, and those hit with the enemies inflicted with the knockback effect will be stunned.
- Her second skill is Wavebreaker/Dive. Dolia leaps, becomes a mermaid, and magically creates a pool of water that she can swim in, even on land. This pool of water heals the heroes in the area when it is created and also recovers health and mana over time for whoever stays in the pool (Dolia included). The cooldown is shorter if Dolia creates the pool in water instead of land. The pool will disappear after 4 seconds or Dolia leaves the pool.
- Her ultimate is Celestial Melody/Hymn of the Deep. After briefly chanting, Dolia blesses her teammate. The blessed ally will have their skill currently in cooldown with the longest timer to be instantly refreshed (it's mostly for ultimates). The remaining cooldown is instead given to Dolia, so her ultimate can end up having an even longer cooldown timer. If the teammate ends up not using their ultimate after being blessed for 5 seconds, Dolia's ultimate cooldown timer is reduced. The refreshed skill is free of cost for the first 5 seconds, and Dolia will gain the benefits of kills caused by that ultimate (split equally with the original user's). The ultimate's targeting will prioritize those with whom Dolia already made a pact. If Dolia refreshes her own skills (if there are no teammates nearby), then she refreshes her own skill.
- Color Motifs: Sea light blue, for she is a mermaid hanging out in the blue sea.
- Cooldown Manipulation: She manipulates her teammates' cooldown, being able to refresh skills and ultimates at a whim.
- Expy: She's a mermaid with the ability to sing beautifully and ends up saving people from drowning or being devoured in sea. She seems like a less tragic version of The Little Mermaid.
- Making a Splash: She's a magic mermaid. Naturally, water is going to be her domain of power.
- Official Couple: Dolia is created to be paired with Heino. Sure enough, after several patches of Dolia being alone in Athanor, Heino makes the jump to Arena of Valor to solidify their couple status.
- Our Mermaids Are Different: While there are a lot of fish-like creatures in both Primaela and Athanor, Dolia is the one who fits the 'pretty lady mermaid' archetype and also is the one with a benevolent 'siren song'. And she's also the only friendly one, compared with the more brutal Kil'Groth and Cresht.
Ming

Debut game: Honor of Kings
Original Name: Ming Shiyin (明世隐)
Other Names: Peony Diviner
Faction: 'Chang'an', 'Dragon Kingdom'note
Original Information: Ming is an original character to Honor of Kings
Honor of Kings Bio: The legend of the Peony Diviner started at the reign of Emperor Taizong; an oracle scheduled for execution for telling Taizong's second son a divination that the prince didn't accept. The favor turned for the oracle as the prince was exiled, and the oracle became known as the Peony Diviner, based on how he left behind a peony in his death.
In the present day, after Wu Zetian took charge of Chang'an, she enlisted an advisor: Someone who had a similar power with the legendary Peony Diviner, Ming. He's a courteous and talented advisor, able to create correct predictions and divinations. However, one of the biggest divinations he released is that the Great Wall will clash with Chang'an. For the defense of Chang'an, Wu Zetian heeds Ming's advice and bolsters up her forces to take the Great Wall. However, judge Di Renjie suspects that there's something off with Ming... Is he really doing it for the sake of Chang'an or does he have personal ulterior motives behind staging the attack?
Arena of Valor Bio:
Counterpart Heroes
To be considered counterparts, both heroes must have a skillset that mirror to each other and has the same function, even if sometimes the execution may differ
Cai Yan

Original Name: Cai Wenji (蔡文姬)
Other Names: Little Lute
Faction: Three Kingdoms - Wei (currently defected to parts unknown)
Original Information A famed female poet of the Eastern Han Dynasty. After marrying, Cai Wenji had her home invaded by the Xiongnu tribe and held captive for years, although she was treated well and even married its chieftain and had two children. However, she was eventually freed from captivity when Cao Cao paid a heavy ransom for her safety. She ended up settling in the territory of Wei, but still kept good contact with Cao Cao as she created more poems to describe her turbulent years.
In-game bio: The daughter of Cai Yong, a well known scholar from Jixia Academy, who gave her the gigantic lute that she sits at in the present day. He was murdered when she was just young, and she ended up being adopted by Cao Cao, a 'friend' of his father, accompanied by Cai Yong's surviving guardian, Dian Wei. Life seems good for Cai Yan, but eventually she starts realizing the dark truth when she inquires about her father's death and Cao Cao points to a certain Kongming as the culprit.
After Cao Cao launched an invasion to Jiang, Cai Yan learns the truth: Cai Yong was murdered under the orders of Cao Cao (by triggering Dian Wei's beast rage) and he only adopted her because he wanted to use one of the artifacts inherited to her: The Imperial Seal hidden in her lute. Heartbroken that she was lied to by the person claiming to be her father, Cai Yan flees from Cao Cao with the help of Dian Wei. She ends up befriending Cao Cao's top assassin, Lam, in process, and helps him settle in Wu. However, afterwards, Cai Yan leaves him to places unknown, hiding from Cao Cao while protecting the seal entrusted by her father. Even when she's heaped with such heavy misfortunes at a young age, Cai Yan still keeps a genuine, sweet smile to cheer everyone near her.
Peura/Helen

Voiced by: Risa Mei (Helen, EN), Aya Uchida (Peura, JP)
Faction: Afata
Peura is one of the tribal priests and chief of faeries of Afata, taking the form of a deer-like centaur, a slightly different form of the legendary centaur Baldum. As a good friend of Tel'Annas, she dedicated herself to the defense of Afata and the Forests of Shadow. At one point, she encountered Veda's Lauriel seeking shelter after her domain was hijacked by Aleister, and he coveted her compact Fountain of Light. For protection, Lauriel handed the fountain to Peura, who, after being cornered by Aleister, decided to drink it herself to protect it, granting her healing power and helping Lauriel recover, and together they drove away Aleister. Despite her help, Peura declined Lauriel's offer to come to Veda, but she would always welcome the allies of the Temple of Light.
Peura would come to encounter Veera during another Lokheim assault, and this time, luck was not on her side. Veera's dark magic overpowered Peura and inflicted a fatal wound on the Faerie Guardian. In her last breaths, Peura inherited her will and powers towards her apprentice, Helen, the last fairy born in the World Tree before the second invasion of Lokheim. She's a little mischievous and didn't seem to have the makings of a proper, dutiful guardian of Afata, but her failure to spot Veera in time cost Peura's life, and she blamed herself for this. Thus, she takes on the position of the Guardian of the Glade to succeed Peura and starts taking a less mischievous approach in her personality to ensure the tragedy will never be repeated again.
Kit
Cai Yan & Peura/Helen are healing-focused Support heroes, as they focus mostly on restoring their allies' HP in massive amounts, and occasionally disrupting their foes.
- Their passives are:
- Can't Touch This for Cai Yan
- Riposte for Peura, Blessing for Helen
- If Cai Yan & Peura/Helen get attacked, they get a slight HP restoration and speed boost. This can only happen once per 10 seconds. Back then, Peura traded the HP restoration with slowing her attacker instead.
- Their first skills are:
- Healing Hymn for Cai Yan
- Healing Light for Peura, Healing Spirit for Helen
- Cai Yan & Peura/Helen create a circle that follows them around. Those inside the circle continuously restore their HP while Cai Yan & Peura/Helen gain movement speed. Previously, Peura also damages her enemy and slows them down as well. However, Helen loses the offensive abilities of her own skill, and instead increases the healing amount (following after Cai Yan).
- Their second skills are:
- Earworm for Cai Yan
- Forest Sentry for Peura, Dance of Flowers for Helen
- Cai Yan & Peura/Helen send out a projectile (music note, spirit owl or mystic flower). If it hits an enemy, the enemy receives damage and the projectile bounces off to other nearby enemies. The projectile can only bounce on the same target twice.
- Their ultimates are:
- Tune of Tranquility for Cai Yan
- Nature's Rally for Peura, Blooming Sea of Flowers for Helen
- Cai Yan & Peura/Helen create an upgraded version of their first skills. In addition to even greater healing, they grant shields to the nearby allies, and those with below 40% HP will receive even bigger shields. Just like before, Peura actually had a lesser healing rate and didn't give extra shields for allies with lower HP, but she had a greater damage over time to enemies near her while also stunning enemies that stayed too long in her circle.
Tropes applying to all
- Crippling Overspecialization: They are so specialized in healing that any anti-heal items will bring down their potential. However, any opposing teams that forget to bring their anti-heals will find them extremely dangerous.
- Divergent Character Evolution: Inverted. When Peura was released to Arena of Valor, she was The Red Mage instead of a pure White Mage like Cai Yan. Therefore, when she's replaced with Helen, the latter reverted back to Cai Yan's pure White Mage style.
- Healing Hands: They are the chief healers of their respective games. Cai Yan's healing abilities come from her lute, Peura and Helen both use restorative nature magic.
Tropes applying exclusively to Cai Yan
- Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: Cao Cao is her 'foster father' instead of the benefactor that brought her freedom. In lore context, however, Cao Cao instead takes the place of the barbarian leader that kidnapped her in the first place. At this point, nobody knows who's the stand-in for 'Cao Cao the benefactor' in the lore.
- Adult Hater: Due to Cao Cao's betrayal, Cai Yan now generalizes every adult characters to be despicable, untrustworthy liars."Grown-ups are evil, terrible liars. Hmph!"
- Morality Pet: She really brings the best out of Dian Wei (who becomes her guardian to atone for his past) and Lam (who re-discovers his humanity thanks to interacting with him).
- The Pollyanna: For such a cheery girl who's happy to share some music and speak some slang, Cai Yan has led a rather shitty life.
- Token Mini-Moe: Exaggerated. Cai Yan is practically a little girl with the body of a baby girl.
- You Killed My Father: She ends up fleeing Wei because it turns out that Cao Cao orchestrated the death of Cai Yong, her real father.
Tropes applying exclusively to Peura/Helen
- Aerith and Bob: Either Peura or Payna are rather outlandish names. However, Helen is a pretty common name.
- Dub Name Change: On certain other servers, Peura's instead called Payna.
- Killed Off for Real: Peura is dead. Killed by Veera. While Helen would carry on her kit, the centaur-deer lady has passed away and more likely never come back. The best she could afford was to transform into Helen's floating seat and allow her to use her powers, but as a living person, she's still dead.
- Our Centaurs Are Different: Peura wouldn't call herself a centaur (the honor belonged to Baldum), but she still takes the form of a half-woman, half-deer.
- The Red Mage: Peura balances out between having offensive and disruptive capabilities and healing her friends. Averted with Helen, where her skills gears more into the defensive/healing side and the only manner of offensive she has is just her second skill.
Da Qiao (大乔)

Other Names: Stormy
Voiced by: Hiromi Igarashi (JP)
Faction: Three Kingdoms - Wu
Original Information: The elder half of the Two Qiaos, a sister pair of great beauties in the Three Kingdoms era, making Xiao Qiao her little sister. Da Qiao was betrothed with the Little Conqueror Sun Ce and they remain a harmonious couple up until Sun Ce's abrupt demise. Da Qiao retreated to the backstage and kept advising Sun Ce's successor and little brother Sun Quan behind the scenes. It was said that one of the reasons the Battle of Red Cliffs happened was because her brother in law, Zhou Yu, heard news that Cao Cao was also lusting after her and perceived it as a great insult that the warlord dared to lust after the wife of his departed best friend, in addition of his own wife.
In-game bio: Da Qiao is the twin sister of Xiao Qiao, born from a family of anomalics in Jiang. Since twins are regarded by the family as a sign of omen, the decision is made that Da Qiao is to be groomed as the heir, while Xiao Qiao is sent to Jixia as if she's never there.
Unfortunately, while Da Qiao grows to be the perfect Proper Lady, she never shows any great aptitudes in sorcery befitting as the heir of the clan. Because of this, the clan, thanks to the machinations of Sima Yi of Wei, decides to put Da Qiao in an Arranged Marriage with a ruler in Wu. Da Qiao retreats to the cliff, thinking that she may have to resign to the fate of marrying a corrupt Wu official.
In the same cliff, she ends up encountering the proposed man she's to marry, only to turn out that this man is Sun Ce, who is not only a dashingly handsome young man, but he possesses the heart of justice. The Arranged Marriage works too well, as Da Qiao falls in love for real and Sun Ce's confidence starts rubbing off her.
Da Qiao assists Sun Ce in cleansing the corruption in Jiang and setting up the Kingdom of Wu. However, Sun Ce later ends up being declared KIA. And yet, Da Qiao has little time to grieve, as the enemy of Wu, the Wei kingdom, approaches her kingdom. Even without her husband, she has already inherited his strong spirit, so Da Qiao steels herself to defend her kingdom and protect the memory of Sun Ce. Of course, her time of separation proves to be short as Sun Ce shows himself to be alive and well shortly after...
Rouie

Voiced by:
Faction: Light-Chasers
Rouie is a girl with a Mysterious Past, with most stories saying she just materialized out of nowhere at the foot of Mt. Orphean. Picked up and adopted on a whim by Ilumia, Rouie was instantly promoted to a priestess, the youngest of all despite the other gods looking down at her. Eager to learn and lessen the hatred, Rouie was sent to learn under Xeniel, but she was withdrawn and shy, being scared to talk with people, and ended up using her power to transport people to the wrong places. However, she eventually became adaptable to learning in unorthodox ways and started to become braver and fit more into the world of Athanor. For her efforts, Rouie is given a place in the Light Chasers squadron along with Laville, Zata, and Teeri.
Kit
Da Qiao & Rouie are utility-based Support heroes. What they lack in massive disruption or strong defenses, they make up with impressive relocation abilities, being able to teleport their allies in and out of their home bases in a quick notice. Da Qiao is also one of the heroes in Honor of Kings who uses a 4 skill layout.- Their passives are:
- Law of Infinity for Da Qiao
- Floating Light for Rouie
- Da Qiao & Rouie tether themselves to the nearest hero, increasing the hero's movement speed together with theirs. And exclusively for Da Qiao, her first and third skills can cause an additional explosion if the tides created by them are intersecting
- Da Qiao's first and third skills are put together as Rouie's first skill. Da Qiao's second skill becomes the second phase of Rouie's first skill. Da Qiao's first skill and the second stage of Rouie's first skill are:
- Leaping Koi Tide for Da Qiao
- Holy Wings for Rouie
- Da Qiao summons a line of water and a leaping big koi fish while Rouie shoots a pair of wings. These projectiles travel forward, deal damage and knock enemies aside. They leave behind a tide/trail that deals damage per second for enemies passing by. Da Qiao gains bonus movement speed for herself, while Rouie gives movement speed bonus for allied heroes (including herself) that pass through her trails.
- Their second skills are:
- Sea of Fate for Da Qiao
- Void Portal for Rouie
- Da Qiao & Rouie open up a portal that stays there for 4 seconds. When the duration expires, those who stand on the portal will be teleported back to base, with their mana fully restored, status cleansed and gaining temporary movement speed bonus.
- Da Qiao's cooldown for the skill will be reduced if there's nobody to teleport, and she can only teleport back one hero. However, a portal will be created in the fountain, so the teleported hero can teleport back to their previous position after recovering.
- While Rouie does not have any cooldown reduction traits, she also restores the HP of the teleported ones.
- Da Qiao's third skill and the first stage of Rouie's first skill are:
- Severing Surge for Da Qiao
- Holy Light for Rouie
- Da Qiao summons the same line of water with a leaping big koi fish, leaving behind a similar tide with her first skill, while Rouie creates a rectangle of light on the ground. These are done in a horizontal line in front of them, and enemies staying there will take damage per second. Da Qiao's koi can still cause a knockback, whereas those that enter Rouie's rectangle will be silenced.
- Their ultimates are:
- Eye of the Whirlpool for Da Qiao
- Sacred Ground for Rouie
- Da Qiao & Rouie summon a circle continuously bathed in light and dealing damage on creation. The circle stays for a good amount of time, and during this time, any allied hero has the choice to channel a bit, and when they do, they will instantly teleport to the circle that Da Qiao & Rouie created, acting as reinforcements for them. The teleported heroes also gain bonus attack speed after a successful teleport.
Tropes applying to both
- Combo: Their utility skills are devastating when used in succession: Find a hero (or two to four) who's in critical health, send them back to base with Sea of Fate/Void Portal. Then immediately call them back with Eye of the Whirlpool/Sacred Ground
- Gondor Calls for Aid: Their ultimates are basically 'Da Qiao/Rouie Calls For Aid'. After putting a circle to an area (that also initially damages the enemy), allies everywhere get the option to answer their call. If they do, they're immediately teleported to said circle, acting as The Cavalry to save the day.
- Support Party Member: If there's a hero that embodies Team Spirit the best, then Da Qiao/Rouie are your ladies. They have middling offense, defense, crowd control, and they're not exactly the most devoted healer, but they have tremendous utility, being able to send off wounded allies to the home fountain quicker than a normal recall, and calling them (and more) back just as quick with their ultimates, as well as getting their friends together in one spot.
Tropes applying exclusively to Da Qiao
- Arranged Marriage: Da Qiao is betrothed to someone so mysterious that she has a bad feeling about it. She runs off to a cliff and accidentally meets that certain someone. It turns out that this guy is actually the dashing and kind Sun Ce. The arranged marriage goes from 'going to be horrible' into 'so perfectly fitting'.
- Making a Splash: As part of her clan being anomalics/sorcerers, Da Qiao's magic takes the form of water summoning, plus some big koi fishes. Then she gets married with someone who utilizes water in fights too...
- Non-Indicative Name: 'Stormy' is named after the term 'storm' which is a wild, destructive state of weather. Da Qiao is not very destructive at all, she is primarily support and generally also more reserved than her sister Xiao Qiao... who's actually Breezy, named after the calmer type of wind/weather (breeze), and has a more damaging skillset best for more destruction.
- Official Couple: Just like in history, with Sun Ce. They even have a pair of wedding skins for it!
Tropes applying exclusively to Rouie
- Light Is Good: As a member of Veda, she's also using Holy Light. Her innocence, however, makes her quite a trustworthy person and one of the icons of good people within Veda, beating out even Lauriel due to her innate innocence as a child.
- Morality Pet: She's the only one that can draw out the goodness within Ilumia, making her less of a bitch than she usually is. Ilumia goes out of her way to adopt her and teach her, shielding her from the harsh words of other gods in Veda.
- Mysterious Past: Nobody knows where she actually came from. They just believe that she popped up on the foot of Mt. Orphean and then called it a day.
- Shrinking Violet: She's withdrawn and shy and prefers to be alone; she's generally afraid of communicating with others.
Donghuang

Original Name: Donghuang Taiyi (东皇太一)
Other Names: Eclipse
Faction: Misty Marshes
Original Information: His original identity is Donghuang Taiyi. An elusive figure of Chinese mythology, with many names including 'King Father of the East' or 'Emperor Donghuang' or 'Dongwanggong'. Known as the representation of the Yang of the Yin-Yang concept, he is known as the mate of the Queen Mother of the West, Xi Wangmu. Legends about his deeds can vary, but in other versions of the Chinese Creation Myth, he and Xi Wangmu were the ones who created the world instead of Pan Gu.
In-game Bio: Formerly an ordinary, if cold-hearted and cruel, human who witnessed Nuwa's appearance in the Celestia plains. At first fascinated with the God, he later discovered that even Gods yearn for immortality, they're not immortals in the first place, and they sought the Spell of Reincarnation for it. Donghuang then came to a conclusion and obsession that humans can be elevated to be as Gods. He mastered the spell and casted it on himself during an eclipse, ascending him into Godhood with the bonus of immortality. However, he grows worried that his immortality would be temporary, but he managed to find a way to keep the immortality: Using a dark ritual that would draw the power of nature, devouring the essences of the sunlight, river, clouds, forests, heaven and earth. He succeeds in creating the miracle of continuous immortality and gains a lot of followers for it. For that, Donghuang orders his followers to spread his word and faith within the Riverlands... no matter the cost. There is no way he wants to return to his old, ordinary, mortal life...
Arum

Arum was once a normal girl from the Federation of Free, until her coming-of-age birthday, when she learned that a powerful but hideous and evil man planned to marry her and her father was helpless to stop her. Arum fled her home and straight to Afata, braving the wilderness where she encountered the mystical lion named Leo. He offered her a path of power and freedom: to become the Lion Priestess. On that day, Arum made up her mind; she would embrace the position of Lion Priestess and join Leo in the journey to the Kingdom of Afata under the leadership of Tel'Annas, who greeted her warmly.
Kit
Donghuang & Arum are Support/Tank heroes that use their massive health to empower their spirit companion and take a lot of damage while disrupting the flow of enemies and grabbing stray heroes.
- Their passives are:
- Soul Sacrifice for Donghuang
- Ravenous Beasts for Arum
- Whenever they use their first skills, Donghuang & Arum will gain one dark/spirit beast that circle around them and deal HP-percentage damage to enemies that touch them and healing them in the same time.
- Their first skills are:
- Eclipse for Donghuang
- Lion Tamer for Arum
- Donghuang & Arum deal damage to enemies around them and summoning a dark/spirit beast to assist them (how they work is described in their passives). They can have up to three beasts in the same time.
- Their second skills are:
- Dark Impact for Donghuang
- Uncaged for Arum
- These skills are only usable when Donghuang/Arum have at least one dark/spirit beast. Donghuang releases all his dark spirits while Arum combines her spirit beasts to summon Leo. They get sent forward, pouncing on the ground depending on how many dark/spirit beasts Donghuang/Arum have when casting the skill. The pounces will always deal damage and slow enemies caught in the pounce, but the second pounce slows the enemy even more, and the third pounce stuns the enemies.
- Their ultimates are:
- Forsaken Contract for Donghuang
- Snare for Arum
- Donghuang & Arum channel while the enemy is suppressed for a considerable time in place (by Donghuang's magic or Leo grabbing the enemy). The enemy takes damage over time during this period. During this time, Donghuang/Arum share a link with their victims; when one takes damage from another source, the other will take damage as well. After casting this skill, the number of dark/spirit beasts they have will be set to 3.
Tropes applying to both
- Adaptational Heroism: Compared to the eerie and merciless Donghuang, who would advocate certain atrocities for the sake of more knowledge, Arum is a stalwart defender of Afata.
- No Saving Throw: There is no escaping their ultimate. Not even the Cleanse spell. Once Donghuang & Arum grab their opponent, they just have to bear with it for a while and hope their allies do not attack Donghuang & Arum as well because they'll die via their shared link.
- Stone Wall: Generally built to emphasize their massive HP and regeneration. Donghuang & Arum aren't exactly disruptive, damaging or fast, but they will still stand and move unflinchingly to his target while being surrounded by spirits that heal them. And that's until they decide to grab the nearest hero and keep them there for a considerable time so they become vulnerable against their allies' attack (and while they also get damaged if their target is attacked, they usually have enough HP to tank them).
- Taking You with Me: If someone is caught in their ultimates, they take damage just as Donghuang & Arum take their own damage. This means, the enemy can die while their allies beat up Donghuang & Arum to let go, but it wouldn't take long for Donghuang & Arum to join their target in the respawn timer. Vice versa if it's they who die first while holding their target.
Tropes applying exclusively to Donghuang
- Adaptational Villainy: There are varying accounts of Dongwanggong, but most of it portrays him as a neutral being. Donghuang over here is a ruthless, malicious guy who is The Unfettered in what he does. He's usually known as the Arc Villain of the story arc in his area.
- Dark Is Evil: He summons shadowy and dark spirits around him, and he's one of the more villainous heroes in the game.
- Deity of Human Origin: He was once just a normal human, but eventually gains the secret of godhood and manages to make it stick with his Spell of Reincarnation.
- Manipulative Bastard: As long as it gets him nearer to his goal, Donghuang will manipulate anyone as he pleases. Gan & Mo learned the hard way.
- Snake People: The lower half of his body is made of a snake's lower body and tail. He doesn't slither on the ground.
- The Unfettered: Nothing will stop Donghuang from keeping his immortality, keep learning new knowledge and ensuring that his miracles will still continue. Even if he has to brainwash others for it.
- Total Eclipse of the Plot: The moment of the eclipse marks Donghuang's first success in executing the Spell of Reincarnation, granting him immortality.
Tropes applying exclusively to Arum
- A Birthday, Not a Break: Arum's coming-of-age birthday is the day she fled from her home in terror rather than marry a hideous man against her will.
- Adaptational Personality Change: In the default English voice, Arum is a lot more outgoing and chipper. However, when you turn the voice into Japanese, Arum's personality and voice change into a more dignified one.
- The Beastmaster: She tames the mystical lion Leo, who usually doesn't materialize physically but will answer Arum's call... but only as long as she has a spirit beast nearby.
- Cat Girl: The pact with Leo made her gain feline ears on her models (in the artwork, it's instead pointy elven ears) and a lion tail. For the most part, that's about it. Arum does not have the typical fangs and scratchy nails.
- Runaway Fiancé: Arum ran away from a possible doomed marriage that her father couldn't protect her from, and from the look of it, the man that caught her fancy was Obviously Evil.
Guiguzi (鬼谷子)

Faction: Misty Marshes
Original Information: Guiguzi is actually the name of a book whose title is translated into 'Book of Open-Shut' that teaches about principles of rhetoric and persuasion dealing with keeping oneself hidden and silent so the counterpart cannot see what one is doing. The name 'Guiguzi' later ends up being attributed to its author, whose true name remains obscure, with a certain 'Guigu Xiansheng' being a candidate of the figure behind Guiguzi, who also taught the likes of Sun Bin. The book Guiguzi is later put into Daoist canon.
In-game bio: Guiguzi is an erudite scholar who travels into the Riverlands to look for the legends of the Heavenly Tree. There, he becomes impressed with a group known as the Order of Seers and joins them to further his research and protect the Sky Dome. He becomes a renowned scholar and teacher who always covers his face with a mask, and has at least one student who keeps asking and challenging his teaching.
War then comes knocking and Guiguzi ends up watching in horror as his students are led astray with power and calamities claiming them. When the Order of Seers refuses to budge from their outdated methods, Guiguzi calls it quits and starts wandering beyond the Riverlands by himself, hoping that he'll find a new truth to answer these mysteries. He will one day return once he finds the answer.
Krizzix

One of the pure-blooded descendants of the Hidden. Krizzix is a lazy free spirit that when his elders try to make him high priest to instill responsibility, he instead exiles himself to avoid the responsibility. He ends up meeting Y'bneth and stays with him to harness his talent and hide in plain sight. Krizzix's people continue to search for him, but he continues to elude them.
Kit
Guiguzi & Krizzix are sneaky Support heroes specializing in going invisible to scout the area or get to the enemies' ranks undetected until they suddenly pop up and ready to wreak havoc.
- Their passives are:
- The Laws of Nature for Guiguzi
- Sneak Attack for Krizzix
- 3 seconds after they are out of sight, Guiguzi & Krizzix enhances their normal attack to deal extra damage and reduce their enemies' movement speed. If they decide to attack the air while no one is seeing, they're penalized with 10 seconds cooldown of the passive.
- Their first skills are:
- Prophecy - Hidden Hand for Guiguzi
- Hidden Trace for Krizzix
- Guiguzi & Krizzix turn themselves invisible. During this period, they get increased movement speed and deals damage to enemies they come in contact with and reducing their defenses (both physical and magical). They reveal themselves when they damage an enemy (including the 'come in contact' damage)
- Their second skills are:
- The Animist for Guiguzi
- Gravitational Pull for Krizzix
- Guiguzi & Krizzix summons a circle around them (Guiguzi actually summons a set of sprites circling around him). The circle stays for 2 seconds and deals damage to enemies per half a second. Once the charging is complete, the circle deals damage and pulls enemies in the range to Guiguzi & Krizzix's side, stunning them for 1 second. If they damage an enemy this way, allies nearby will gain shield.
- Their ultimates are:
- Prophecy - Out of Sight for Guiguzi
- Concealment for Krizzix
- Guiguzi & Krizzix cast a spell to their allies nearby and themselves. After 1 second, they all become invisible and gain movement speed bonus. The invisibility works the same as their first skill, minus the 'come in contact' damage. Additionally, Guiguzi & Krizzix will mark the nearest enemy and reveal them as long as they stay invisible.
Tropes applying to both
- Adaptational Jerkass: While Guiguzi is a responsible man who uses his knowledge wisely, Krizzix is a Lazy Bum who actively avoids responsibility without any care of what happens.
- Invisibility: Their forte is to become invisible or granting their teammates invisibility. Unlike assassin heroes, they're not going invisible for the sake of killing. But more for scouting and harrassing their enemies that if they are not being rid of, danger will befall on the enemy.
Tropes applying exclusively to Guiguzi
- Miniature Senior Citizens: As one of the great teachers from Riverlands and pretty old himself (although you'll have a hard time figuring it out thanks to his mask), Guiguzi has a reverse growth spurt. He's pretty short compared to other old men and sages (like Fuzi).
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here!: After seeing the Order of Seers being so stubborn and blockheaded in the face of calamity, Guiguzi calls it quits and starts Walking the Earth.
- Seeker Archetype: Guiguzi is driven to discover new truths of the world around him.
- Stern Teacher: As a teacher, Guiguzi is pretty strict and disciplined. Him constantly wearing his mask is a way to show his professionalism.
- Unrelated in the Adaptation: He's a teacher, but this time, Sun Bin is nowhere in his student list.
- Walking the Earth: He wanders Primaela to discover the truth outside Misty Marshes. This is not a permanent state, as he states that he will return.
Tropes applying exclusively to Krizzix
- Comes Great Responsibility: He actively defies it. He knows that becoming a high priest means shouldering responsibility and sacrificing freedom, so Krizzix decides to just boot out and avoid being caught to avoid responsibility.
- Frog Men: The Hidden ones are a clan of frog men, and Krizzix is one of them.
- Lazy Bum: He's a free spirit who'd rather slack off than taking any responsibility.
- Non-Indicative Name: Even if he's titled 'The Deceiver', Krizzix never really lies or deceives someone. He makes it clear that he does NOT want any responsibility and acts accordingly rather than saying that he'll go back to the straight and narrow path, only to lie and boot out afterwards.
Kui

Original Name: Zhong Kui (钟馗)
Other Names: Voidcaller
Faction: Chang'an
Original Information: Based on Zhong Kui, he is a Taoist figure within Chinese mythology known as the vanquisher of evil. He possessed an imposing figure known to scare off evil spirits, and his job was to capture demons and force them to do his bidding, so they wouldn't harm humans. Many Chinese people put up pictures of him on their houses in hopes that it would repel evil spirits from their homes.
In-game bio: Kui is a mechanoid that has existed even before the construction of the majestic Chang'an city. When the city is completed, Kui quickly makes a residence there, protecting the Heart of Chang'an and the wisdom stored within it. At night, he patrols the Phoenix street to find those who would harm Chang'an and suck them into the Vacuity itself as punishment. Some took it as a challenge and decided to fight him to gain access to the treasures from the Heart of Chang'an. They all met the same fate by the guardian of Chang'an.
Grakk

Voiced by:
Faction: Lokheim
An executioner of souls. Grakk shackles souls and devours them to torture them, at the cost of being unable to eat anything else other than that. With the help of some people in Lokheim, he had enjoyed a set of meals during times of peace, but as the war broke out, Maloch offered him a neverending feast if he'll help him. Grakk then directs his sight to consume every soul he sees.
Kit
Kui & Grakk are Tank/Support heroes who drag heroes to their side and keep them there for a world of pain.
- Their passives are:
- Sanctification for Kui
- Blood Ritual for Grakk
- Whenever Kui & Grakk get damaged for more than a certain HP percentage per hit, they unleash a small explosion around them, damaging everyone. And whenever they die, they let out an even bigger, wider explosion after a 3 second delay.
- Their first skills are:
- Mortals! for Kui
- Earthquake for Grakk
- Kui & Grakk smash the ground, damaging and slowing everyone near them. Grakk will deal more damage to those closer to him.
- Their second skills are:
- Join Me for Kui
- Devil's Chain for Grakk
- Kui & Grakk launch their signature weapons: The chain hook. It travels for a long range and grabs the first enemy it touches, then drags the target next to them. Passively, they gain max HP for every kill or assist that they score. Kui will swing his hook while the skill button is pressed, but held (to aim for his target); this doesn't affect the skill but serves as a visual cue for his opponents.
- Their ultimates are:
- Into the Void for Kui
- World Devourer for Grakk
- After a delay, Kui & Grakk open their bellies and unleash a vortex that sucks those in front of them, dealing damage along the way. They gain a shield if the skill hits someone, but this is a channeling skill and thus can be interrupted. Grakk will always stun those who enter his vortex area, while Kui instead will just slow his victims, unless said victim was just hit with any of his skills, to which he will stun said target while pulling them in.
Tropes applying to both
- Adaptational Villainy: Grakk is a monster residing in Lokheim, while Kui is just a neutral guardian of order in Chang'an.
- Expy: Both are their respective games' token 'long range chain hook dragger' heroes, following the examples set by Pudge and Blitzcrank.
- Taking You with Me: If you manage to kill them, get the hell away from his corpse temporarily. They'll explode and do considerable damage.
- You Will Not Evade Me: It's imperative to hide behind your creeps/minions to avoid getting dragged next to them. And for a bonus, Grakk also has the obligatory quote of "GET OVER HERE!"
Tropes applying exclusively to Kui
- Guardian Entity: Kui is the guardian of Chang'an city and its heart. Not even the rulers object to his positioning.
- Mysterious Past: Virtually nothing is known about Kui's past. He's not even related to the Celestials. What's known is that he existed before Chang'an was built.
- Power of the Void: True to his title as the 'Voidcaller', Kui draws his power from the void itself. It serves as the source of his first skill and ultimate; the latter is a close enough substitute for a black hole.
Tropes applying exclusively to Grakk
- The Executioner: His job is to execute and torture souls, and by residing in Lokheim, he's obviously bad news.
- Stout Strength: He's fat and powerful enough to drag anyone that his hook touches. Yes, even a hulking centaur like Baldum. Additionally, if he's given enough kills or assists, Grakk gets so obese with HP that he's also incredibly tough to kill in a normal manner.
Niu Mo (牛魔)

Faction: Himself (formerly Ferali Rebels under Wukong)
Original Information: The Bull Demon King and one of Sun Wukong's most famous adversaries. Niu Mo was formerly one of the demon kings that was friends and loyal to Wukong before his rampage in Heaven. After his sealing, he married the Princess Iron Fan and had a son being the Red Boy, but became estranged and antagonistic when Wukong went on a pilgrimage with Xuanzang, barring his path in the Flaming Mountain and growing several antagonisms towards Heaven itself. After Wukong tricked his wife to surrender the fan that could blow away the Flaming Mountain, Niu Mo took the matters at hand and fought Wukong after impersonating Zhu Bajie. In the end, however, Nezha interrupted the battle to subdue him and bring him to the Jade Emperor where he would receive his punishment.
In-game bio: Niu Mo is a ferali with the form of a bull enslaved by the superbeings while making a pact to maintain the Sun Tower. They forced him to fight in gladiatorial matches or push heavy objects.
Everything changes when he meets the Monkey King. Wukong's charisma wins him over and Niu Mo agrees to join his rebellion against the superbeings. While at first he and Wukong find success, the superbeings then unveil a secret weapon: A massive cannon that can easily obliterate the ferali. To maintain the survival of his species, Niu Mo betrays Wukong. The rebellion ends in failure, but Niu Mo's bull ferali kinsmen live on.
He never regretted his betrayal, but he still misses the day he walked together with Wukong. As time passes, Niu Mo later hears that the humans, after being left by the superbeings, have built a similar cannon that triggered his betrayal. And there are rumors that Wukong is spotted nearby. After a long time, Niu Mo starts to take interest again.
Lumburr

But the balance is disturbed by the invasion of Lokheim. After awakening, Lumburr wakes up from his slumber and aligns himself to the one leading the charge against the demonic invasion, the elven queen Tel'Annas. The invading demons will not ruin the earth further as long as Lumburr stays on guard.
Kit
Niu Mo & Lumburr are Support/Tank heroes designed to rush into the thick of battle, withstand hits with their innate toughness, and then send the enemy quaking with their sheer might.
- Their passives are:
- Strong Support for Niu Mo
- Protect for Lumburr
- Niu Mo & Lumburr bring a protection aura wherever they walk, increasing the defense and magic defense of a nearby allied hero who has the lowest HP and themselves.
- Their first skills are:
- Roaring Axe for Niu Mo
- Shattered Earth for Lumburr
- Niu Mo swings his axe in a half circle area while Lumburr smashes the ground with his fist, dealing damage.
- Lumburr knocks enemies in the area backward and if the enemy crashes into another enemy, the second enemy gets knocked up.
- Niu Mo marks the enemy to receive a delayed damage. The mark can be stacked up to 12 times, increasing after the marked one is hit with normal attack. The more stacks they have, the greater the delayed damage will be. The fourth, eighth and twelfth marks have a greater damage increase than the rest.
- Their second skills are:
- Domineering for Niu Mo
- Rampage for Lumburr
- Niu Mo & Lumburr charge forward, dealing damage to those in their way (Niu Mo has a slight delay before charging).
- Enemies hit with Lumburr's charge will suffer a damage penalty briefly.
- Enemies hit with Niu Mo's charge will be knocked up and then suffer a massive movement speed penalty briefly.
- Their ultimates are:
- Landslide for Niu Mo
- Earth Splitter for Lumburr
- After a short charge, Niu Mo & Lumburr smash the ground with their weapons (axe for Niu Mo, both fists for Lumburr), splitting the earth and creating massive rock geysers in a long, wide area in front. Enemies in the area will be knocked up for a considerable time. The area of effect will stay ruined for 5 seconds, and those who still stay there will take damage over time and be slowed.
Tropes applying to both
- Dishing Out Dirt: Both of them use their might to wreck the earth a lot. Lumburr is also the personification of earth itself.
Tropes applying exclusively to Niu Mo
- Adapted Out: He's the only member of his family that appears in this verse. Princess Iron Fan and Red Boy did not exist in the Honor of Kings-verse.
- Brutish Character, Brutish Weapon: Befitting his wild, brutish power, Niu Mo swings a massive axe with just one hand.
- Demoted to Extra: According to the early promotional images of the global version, Niu Mo may not appear as a hero and is set to be replaced by Lumburr so Tencent can avoid pissing off countries that consider the cow/bull as sacred animals. However, he/Lumburr has yet to be released, so anything can change. However, his place in the lore still stays as the traitor that doomed Wukong's rebellion.
- Mighty Glacier: Niu Mo can dish out more damage while still staying as tough as Lumburr. However, he's still slow and has more slight delays in his skills, unlike Lumburr (like in his dash, where Lumburr's is immediate).
- Our Minotaurs Are Different: He is Honor of Kings' token minotaur character, and based on one of China's most known bull demons in myth/fiction. It's also why his skins is instead transferred to Toro in Arena of Valor.
- Turncoat: He used to be on Wukong's side to rebel for the sake of the ferali. However, Niu Mo ends up betraying Wukong for the sake of his own ferali kinsmen (bull feralis, not monkey ones).
Tropes applying exclusively to Lumburr
- Anthropomorphic Personification: Of the Earth.
- Flat Character: Lore and characterization aren't exactly Lumburr's strongest points. He's an Earth Elemental under Afata and... that's it? Even his quotes are full with meme references or earth puns, making it hard to pinpoint his lore characterization.
- Rock Monster: An Earth Elemental means that the form of a rock golem is the best appearance he can get.
- Stone Wall: Lumburr is really tough and disruptive, as befitting a Support/Tank. His damage alone is rather middling, however, since he lacks the delayed damage potential Niu Mo has.
Sun Bin (孙膑)

Other Names: Timebender
Faction: Jixia Academy
Original Information: Based on the military strategist Sun Bin, descendant of Sun Tzu, who lived during the Warring States era and learned under the sage Guiguzi. During his service of the Wei state, he was accused of treason by Pang Juan and as a result was punished with mutilation, leaving him crippled. He then defected to Qi state, and during the war against Wei and got his revenge on Pang Juan by killing him. Afterwards, he penned his own version of the Arts of War book just like his ancestor.
In-game bio: One of the brightest students in Jixia Academy, well-versed in the arts of machinery, but he remains a humble and shy boy. Sun Bin actually has a fellow student who constantly bullied and slandered him out of jealousy, though he has one friend who defends him. However, during one of his travels, Sun Bin is ambushed by half-feralis and gets into an accident that destroys his feet. His protector friend tries saving him, but ends up being sucked in a dark vortex. Sun Bin himself is saved by Mozi.
It's later discovered that the slanderer planned to get revenge by sending the feralis to ambush Sun Bin. But that does not matter, as Sun Bin becomes even more withdrawn with the death of his friend. He only manages to come out of his shell when he's drafted into Yao's team in the Dream Trial and is encouraged to use his skills to save the day. Afterwards, Sun Bin opens up once more, believing that the memories of his friend will live on forever in his heart.
Alice

A young mystic born and raised in Veda, Alice lived a sheltered life and only knew about the outside world through the words of Yorn. She also learned magic on her own and became adept with it, making a name for herself amongst the people of Veda. Once the war in the south calmed down, as a part of Ilumia's plan to ally with the Norman Kingdom's humans, Alice was sent to be a representative of Veda and an 'acting little sister' to the King of Norman, Thane. Alice bade farewell to her home and made her way to Norman, where she was also welcomed with open arms and it quickly became her second home.
Kit
Sun Bin & Alice are primarily Support heroes specializing in disrupting the battlefield and protecting their friends, at the cost of miniscule damage and survivability.
- Their passives are:
- Hourglass of Time for Sun Bin
- Trot for Alice
- Everytime Sun Bin & Alice use their skills, they temporarily gain increased movement speed.
- Their first skills are:
- Time Bomb for Sun Bin
- Sunshine for Alice
- Sun Bin & Alice toss a ball of time/sunray into an area.
- Alice's ball of sunray is thrown in an arc, so it bypasses any enemies. Once it lands, it explodes, dealing damage and stunning enemies in the area.
- Sun Bin does not throw his ball of time in an arc, so if it hits an enemy, it stops and latches onto the enemy for a while. A countdown then appears above the enemy. Once it reaches zero, it deals damage to the enemy and those in their area, and slows them down too.
- Their second skills are:
- Time Flux for Sun Bin
- Friendship for Alice
- Sun Bin & Alice buff the movement speed of their friends around them with a decaying effect. Sun Bin's skill also heals his friends when the period is over, while Alice adds up shields during the period.
- Their ultimates are:
- Time Lapse for Sun Bin
- Hissy Fit for Alice
- Sun Bin throws a similar bomb with his Time Bomb, but once it hits an enemy, he instead creates a huge circle with a clock image on it. During the image creation, the enemies in the area receive damage, are slowed and silenced. After a brief delay, the enemies in the area get damaged again.
- Alice creates a similar circle instantaneously, which is not affected with any blocking enemies. It still silences and slows down enemies in the area, but it doesn't deal burst damages. Instead, it deals damage over time and reduces the magic damage of enemies in the area.
Tropes applying to both
- Adaptational Comic Relief: Alice may have some issues behind her cheerful self, but she doesn't let it be on display. Instead, she's all about having fun in a childish manner, which is a stark contrast of Sun Bin's more serious disposition despite his youthful look.
- Skill Gate Characters: They're most likely the baby's 'mage type support heroes', to teach you what to do as a mage that supports and controls your enemies.
- Support Party Member: Sun Bin & Alice aren't going to take damage or deal destructive magic. But they sure as hell will disrupt whatever you're planning from afar for their friends' sake.
Tropes applying exclusively to Sun Bin
- Dude Looks Like a Lady: Yes, that's a boy. Even Sun Bin himself lampshades his rather feminine appearance which can confuse others.
- Karma Houdini: The fate of the slanderer that leads to the death of Sun Bin's friend remains up in the air. It's not clear if the sages discovered his plot and expelled him, or if he's ignored. But regardless, he's pretty dead in Sun Bin's heart as his actions no longer haunt him.
- Ridiculously Human Robot: There are robotic echoes within his voice, implying a robot nature within him, with his futuristic design supporting it. However, he looks more convincingly human than, say, Luban No.7. Lore-wise this is downplayed; Sun Bin is fully human, he's just very good at machinery that he may as well make himself look like a robot if it enhances his Time Master creds.
- Time Master: Sun Bin can both speed up and slow down time.
- Unrelated in the Adaptation: The historical Sun Bin was a student of Guiguzi. However, in Honor of Kings, Sun Bin is a student of Jixia Academy, a faction unrelated to Guiguzi (he's from the Riverlands).
Tropes applying exclusively to Alice
- The Baby of the Bunch: She's basically the little sister of everyone, in Norman and Veda alike (only Rouie had her beat in this term).
- Cheerful Child: She's a playful little girl who occasionally treats the battlefield like some sort of playground, though she's as dedicated to protecting her friends. She has tons of quotes in the vibes of "YAAY! WE'RE GONNA PLAY SOMETHING FUN!" and refers to whoever killed her as "mean bullies'."
- The Cutie: A cute little girl with a small stature and an extremely cute pink outfit. Even moreso in Japan, where her splash art seems to be drawn in an anime style more than other anime-inspired heroes.
- Political Hostage: Technically, she's only in Norman because Veda needs something to ensure their alliance together. Still, Alice is genuinely treated well by Norman, and Thane knows better than to wreck their alliance.
- The Pollyanna: Despite the darker situation of why she's in Norman in the first place, Alice absolutely does not give a damn. She still genuinely maintains her Cheerful Child persona. It also helps that she's treated well on both sides.
Yaria

Original Name: Yao (瑶)
Faction: Misty Marshes
Original Information: Yaria is an original character to Honor of Kings
In-game bio: Once upon a time in Misty Marshes, there lived a deer and a bird who became close friends. However, a great war ravaged the land and the bird died, and the deer was heavily wounded. A couple came across the deer and took care of it, but it was too late. The deer succumbed to its wound. However, the couple became blessed with a newborn daughter, named Yaria, and they're convinced that she was the reincarnation of the deer, as she carried the spirit of the deer.
Yaria grows up as a beloved, but mischievous child. She studies magic under the sage Guiguzi. Her mischievous spirit leads her to wander to a dangerous city in the west where she's almost made to be a sacrifice. Yet, she's saved by a winged man named Cirrus, who acts kind of cold against her. However, something about him strikes a chord in Yaria's heart. She's pretty sure that they're connected to the past and she will meet him again and make him remember. She's at least right on the money, because Cirrus is also the reincarnation of that bird who used to be friends with Yaria's past life as a deer.
Aya

Voiced by:
Faction: Afata
The World Tree is a structure in Afata that upheld all lives. Occasionally, it automatically gave birth to a life force, becoming a newborn creature with the gift of magic. There are two creatures born this way, the first one was Aya (the second one was Helen). After she was born, she ended up in Elbourne Woods, where both Eland'orr and Krixi decided to adopt and train her. Aya quickly discovered her talent in singing and that she possessed a magical and soothing voice. To capitalize on this, she decided to become an Idol Singer and her first contest was a resounding success, albeit because Krixi threatened everyone to attend her concert at first, but Aya truly became someone loved for her soothing music. However, one by one, her close friends became tangled with their respective duties; Krixi became more serious in taking the role of the guardian of the forests, Eland'orr had to depart to atone for breaking the Soul Lamp. They promised they will still visit Aya from time to time. So, for the time being, Aya continues her activities to sing and soothe the hearts of people around her while also improving her own magical power.
Kit
Yaria & Aya are Support heroes who latch themselves to an allied hero and buff them while using them as a platform to cast their skills.
- Their passives are:
- Deer Spirit for Yaria
- Squirrel Spirit for Aya
- Yaria & Aya turn into a deer/squirrel spirit respectively whenever they are hit with danger. During this state, they are invulnerable to all damage, but cannot attack. This is used to escape unharmed.
- Yaria enters this state if she's hit with a crowd control effect (except suppression). She can still cast her first skill to end the state early.
- Aya enters this state if her HP drops below 40%. Her skillset is replaced with a new set during this state: One to dash for a short distance, and one to end the state early.
- Their first skills are:
- Wandering Beam for Yaria
- Sound Breaker for Aya
- Yaria & Aya shoot out a projectile that is meant to deter their enemies.
- Yaria's projectile is a single, small ball of light that travels to a distance, dealing damage to everyone. Once it reaches the maximum distance, it searches for an enemy hero nearby and homes to that hero, hitting them to deal damage and minorly knock them to the air.
- Aya's projectile is an energy circle that grows wider, dealing damage to everyone in the path and revealing them. When the circle reaches the end of the traveling line, it explodes and deals the same amount of damage and slows the enemies down.
- Yaria's second skill is actually much similar to Aya's ultimate. They are:
- Accelerating Blitz for Yaria
- Forest Song for Aya
- Yaria & Aya create a circle around them where the enemies will suffer damage over time. If this is cast while being attached to an ally with their other skill, there will be a benefit.
- Yaria summons a lot of small spirits from her staff that travel in a homing manner to the enemies. If she casts this while attached to an ally, the skill's range is extended.
- Aya's circle is just naturally harmful over time. If an enemy stays for too long there, they will be polymorphed into a forest critter temporarily. If Aya casts this skill while attached to an ally, the ally receives significant movement speed boost.
- Inversely, Yaria's ultimate and signature skill is placed as Aya's second skill. They are:
- Verdant Protector for Yaria
- Idol Love for Aya
- Yaria & Aya select an ally and attach themselves to the ally, becoming untargetable. During this state, they can cast their own skills while using the ally as a platform. They can end the attachment early by recasting to an area outside (or using the 'Escape' button that replaces the Recall button during this state), which will reduce the cooldown.
- Yaria naturally gives a flat amount of shield to her allies that cover them from true damage, and her own skills are enhanced. However, she will be forced to detach if the given shield is depleted by damage.
- Aya's attachment is indefinite and she can stay there until she wants to detach or her ally dies. She only gives a temporary shield when attaching, but she can recast the ultimate to the chosen ally to give them more shields, and she gives an extra amount of shield if she's attached to an Assassin, Mage or Archer. Additionally, if she casts hero spells like Roar, Purify, Sprint, or the ones that usually affect self, the effects will be transferred to the attached ally.
Tropes applying to both
- Dub Name Change:
- Yaria is originally called Yao in the Chinese server, the name change is to enforce the trope One-Steve Limit.
- In the Japanese server, Aya is instead called "Yana".
- Little Bit Beastly: They have animalistic traits to signify that they're not exactly humans, but spirits related to the forest.
- Yaria has a deer tail and horns, signifying that she reincarnated from the deer that died from its wounds.
- Aya has squirrel ears and bushy squirrel tail, signifying her relations with the Yggdrasil. It is exclusive to her, because the other spirit born this way (Helen) lacks such traits.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here!: After being hit with a crowd control (Yaria) or taking a number of damage (Aya), they can turn invincible while unable to attack at all. There's only one reason for doing this: The battle isn't going in their favor, so it's time to run away.
- Shoulder Teammate: Following examples by Empath and Yuumi, they are their respective games' heroes who make a selected ally their own host where they can use their skills from there, while buffing said ally.
Tropes applying exclusively to Yaria
- One-Steve Limit: The reason why she's named Yaria in the global version is because there's another character named Yao (whose surname, which can differentiate them, is usually not said).
- Official Couple: With Cirrus.
- Reincarnation: It's said that Yaria is born right after the deer died, thus she's carrying the deer's reincarnated spirit.
- Reincarnation Romance: After dying together in a past life, Yaria & Cirrus reunite and fall in love again.
Tropes applying exclusively to Aya
- Bratty Half-Pint: Aya decidedly is the more immature spawn of the World Tree (compared to Helen who wised up after the death of Peura). She gets along better with Krixi if they're allies, but if they meet as enemies, she shows a bratty, rebellious side, either with Ignoring by Singing or threatening to report to Eland'orr that she's being bullied. And if it's Eland'orr who beats her, she instead threatens to report to Krixi instead.
- Forced Transformation: Anyone staying in her ultimate's circle is going to get themselves turned into forest critter.
- Idol Singer: She can sing really good and she knows just how to channel it.
- Ignoring by Singing: If she meets Krixi as an enemy, Aya then tries to ignore her warnings by singing. With a magical megaphone at hand, it's easy enough."I won't listen! I WON'T LISTEN! LA LA LA LA LAAA!!"
- Loud of War: She weaponizes her music by using a megaphone to channel her magic and make her voice louder, for the good of her allies, and the bad of her enemies.
- Love Triangle: One thing she shares with Krixi is that she also looks up to and loves Eland'orr. Too bad he's busy with more pressing matters.
Zhang Fei (张飞)

Other Names: Beast
Faction: Three Kingdoms - Shu
Original Information: The last of the three brothers that laid the foundation of the Shu Kingdom. Zhang Fei was a local butcher, and his sense of justice caused him to reprimand Liu Bei who was sighing at the call to arms against the Yellow Turban Rebellion. This instead inspired Liu Bei to have a talk with him and they found out they have several things in common. Guan Yu soon joined the conversation and they suggested making an oath of brotherhood in Zhang Fei's own peach garden; despite being born on different days, they all hope to die together on the same day, sticking together until the time comes, and thus Zhang Fei fought alongside Liu Bei in many battles beyond the Yellow Turbans and the tyrant Dong Zhuo. With his Viper Spear at hand, Zhang Fei is a boisterous battle master with notable accomplishments such as scaring off the army of Cao Cao at Changban with a scream or tricking his enemies who thought he was no more than a musclebound brute. He met his end when his flaw, a tendency to dispose of violence when angry, caught up to him when two of his men assassinated him over his mistreatment of them, which peaked after Guan Yu's death.
In-game bio: A half-ferali who has to hide his identity to protect him and his family from humans who hate half-hybrids. For that, he and his family pose as machinists. Unfortunately, they end up exposed and a majority of Zhang Fei's family is slaughtered. Almost giving in to his inner rage, Zhang Fei is stopped by his benefactor, senior officer Du You of Yi.
Ever since that day, Zhang Fei hides in Du You's home, tinkering machines, until he discovers a box that reveals everything: That Du You set up his family's death all for the sake of an item called 'Heavenly Scroll'. Enraged, Zhang Fei transforms into his true form, a hulking red beast, and kills Du You in revenge with his signature weapon, the Serpent Spear. He later wanders throughout the lands, until he finds his true calling: Swear an oath of brotherhood with fellow heroes Liu Bei and Guan Yu and form up the kingdom of Shu to fight for peace.
Cresht

Voiced by: Kotaro Nakamura (JP)
Faction: Afata
Cresht is a sea monstrosity lurking within the Boiling Sea, located near the territory of Afata. Together with his friend Kil'Groth, he placed himself at the top of the food chain and responsible for the sea's calamitous state and tormenting humans that come near him.
The invasion of Lokheim seemingly stopped Cresht's activities. He seemed to pursue a higher goal afterwards. As it turns out, after saving Kil'Groth from the Lokheim general, Taara, Cresht aligns himself with the forest dwellers of Afata, led by the elven queen Tel'Annas. This brings the creatures of the sea together to unite and fight against the dark forces of Lokheim. However, Cresht's tempestuous attitude and hunger for battle remains.
Kit
Zhang Fei & Cresht are intimidating Support/Tank heroes who build up their inner power as they fight and protect their teammates, until it's time to unleash the beast within and wreak havoc. Most of their skills will depend on whether they're transformed or not.
- Their passives are:
- Dark Potential for Zhang Fei
- Tidal Rage for Cresht
- After transforming (via ultimate), Zhang Fei & Cresht will shake the ground after using a skill, which will slow enemies down. While Cresht only depends on cooldown, Zhang Fei has a 'Madness/Rage' meter. He builds up his 'Madness/Rage' by attacking, being attacked, or using skills.
- Their first skills are:
- Forbidden Domain (untransformed) or Mad Slaughter (transformed) for Zhang Fei
- Typhoon (untransformed) or Hell Spout (transformed) for Cresht
- In their untransformed states, Zhang Fei & Cresht spin around with their spears, dealing damage to nearby enemies and knocking them back.
- In their transformed states, Zhang Fei smashes the ground in front of him while Cresht summons a big water geyser in front of him. Both cases will deal considerable damages to all enemies caught in the area.
- Their second skills are:
- Leaping Savior (untransformed) or Stampede (transformed) for Zhang Fei
- Aquatic Shield (untransformed) or Red Tide (transformed) for Cresht
- In their untransformed states, Zhang Fei & Cresht leap forward and gain shields for themselves. They also generate shields for allies within their landing position.
- In their transformed states, Zhang Fei & Cresht leap forward and smash the ground, dealing considerable damage to enemies in the area.
- Their ultimates are:
- Unbridled Outburst for Zhang Fei
- Metamorphosis for Cresht
- Zhang Fei & Cresht transform into hulking beasts (a red ape-like beast for Zhang Fei, an even bigger, monstrous merman for Cresht), gaining a huge amount of shield for themselves (based on their HP). On transforming, they become immune to crowd control and unleash a mighty wave that knocks enemies backwards considerably while dealing damage. If the enemy is located at the end of the wave distance, they're instead stunned. The wave then stays temporarily; Zhang Fei & Cresht gain movement speed as long as they walk within the wave. During this state, they gain bonus attack damage, and once the transformation state ends, they revert back to their normal self and execute their untransformed first skill automatically.
Tropes applying to both
- Boisterous Bruiser: Downplayed and played straight.
- Zhang Fei downplays this. As opposed to his other portrayals that play this straight, he is much more introspective and quieter about the horrors of war and less loud than usual. Not to mention, he's mainly a support rather than a pure brawler (albeit a tanky one that goes into violent brawls when charged up). There's just about one line where he gives out a laugh.
- Cresht plays this straight, as he is always up for a good scrap and looks forward to facing strong opponents.
- Hold the Line: While they don't have massive crowd controls that they can use a lot of times, they are designed to hold off the march of enemies. They can give out shields, shoo out enemies with the swing of their spears, and even push away a big chunk of enemies in a line. This may also be a reference to Zhang Fei's famous stand in the Changban Bridge. Cresht may also say the trope in verbatim when activating his first skill (untransformed).
- Hulking Out: When they activate their ultimates, both turn into even bigger creatures that don't quite look like their original selves.
- Stone Wall: They are purely support-geared tanks; which means that even their strength is kind of middling (they become more powerful when transformed, but not too much; their crowd control is much more valued). However, they make it up by being so ridiculously tanky that trying to kill them is going to take a lot of time.
Tropes applying exclusively to Zhang Fei
- Adaptational Job Change: Even if his historical self was actually a Genius Bruiser who often devised impromptu strategies, he never had a keen eye for machinery and devices. Zhang Fei here is a mechanist.
- Adaptational Species Change: The historical (or novel) Zhang Fei is fully human. Zhang Fei in Honor of Kings is actually a half-ferali.
- Bash Brothers: It's possible for all three brothers of the Peach Garden (Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei) being in the same team as they cater different roles (Jungler, Clash laner, Support/Roamer). So, Zhang Fei can kick ass together with his sworn brothers.
- Half-Breed Discrimination: Being a half-ferali just gives Zhang Fei's life hell. Even moreso when his supposed benefactor engineers such discrimination just to get what he wants.
- Red Is Violent: His color scheme is mainly red, and while he's quieter than usual, Zhang Fei's combat style is defined with the violent red beast he held within.
Tropes applying exclusively to Cresht
- Blood Knight: He's always looking for a good fight in order to keep himself at the top of the food chain in the Boiling Sea.
- Expy: His model is based on the Heroes of Newerth hero Myrmidon.
- Token Evil Teammate: Just like Kil'Groth, Cresht doesn't really share Tel'Annas' virtue despite being aligned with Afata. He minds his own business and wreaks havoc when he can. He's just less bloodthirsty than Kil'Groth.
- Vocal Dissonance: His untransformed voice is seriously scrawny. Even if when untransformed, he's kind of a cute, bipedal hammerhead shark, it kind of clashes with his image of 'the top of the food chain in Boiling Sea'. This is averted when he transforms, where his deep voice certainly matches his ferocity.
Zhenren

Original Name: Taiyi Zhenren (太乙真人)
Faction: Celestials (sort of)
Original Information: Based on the figure 'Taiyi Zhenren'. While there are many origins of Taiyi Zhenren (including a figure from Tang Dynasty), this one is more inspired by the Taiyi Zhenren appearing in Fengshen Yanyi as the teacher of Nezha, who helped created many constructs for him to use in his quest. Most notably, Taiyi Zhenren revives Nezha after death by giving him a human body to store his soul, and also creates his signature weapons, the Wind Fire Wheels & the Fire-Tipped Spear.
In-game bio: Zhenren is a renowned alchemist who also dabbles in some forbidden arts. At one point in his life, he's approached by the father of Nezha, who wants him to save the child due to a heart disease. To also test his progress, Zhenren instead replaces his heart with the Wonder Key, which allows Nezha to live, but stunts his emotional growth into just feeling only anger.
Unfortunately, when Zhenren follows Nezha to the Celestials for learning, he is exposed for his underhanded alchemy usage and is tossed to prison. Nezha saves him, but also brings along a particular cauldron which somehow has some souls stored in it. Zhenren then witnesses how his actions affected Nezha's life, with his father losing his life due to the trickery of the people of Celestia, and Nezha flying into rage for revenge and eventually lies down dead.
The cauldron then reacts, telling him that there is a way to save Nezha, but it requires an Equivalent Exchange. Zhenren rips his own heart to save Nezha's life again. However, his soul is stuck within the cauldron carrying him, while the souls within the cauldron also become more active, representing Zhenren's new body. At least, he also avoids death and gets to reunite with his student.
TeeMee

Twin raccoon siblings Tee and Mee were otherwise harmless talking animals living in a carefree manner within Afata. But war reached out to their region and it became harder to gather food and they're given jobs to clean up the battlefield in exchange for food, but that didn't bring down their optimism. Eventually, when the humans and the Veda faction joined the war against Lokheim, Tee and Mee discovered a stray armor made by Max of the Free Federation. The armor was engraved with the rune of resurrection by Veda and strangely, it fit the two raccoons when Mee stood on Tee's shoulders. They scavenged the armor and wore it during a day at work, in which the Lokheim suddenly attacked the clean-up crews. Trying to survive, Mee acted as a strategist to guide Tee's movement and they used every tool available from the armor to stand their ground until the Lokheim army finally retreated. Eventually, the higher ups of Afata heard the tale and praised them as brave soldiers. They're promoted into one of the main fighters of Afata. Now, they fight together as one to protect Afata and reach the stars, as TeeMee.
Kit
Zhenren & TeeMee are Support/Tank heroes running around the battlefield while charging a 'secret weapon' to disrupt the enemy from the inside and bring their allies back to the brink of death when things go south.- Their passives are:
- Glittering Gold for Zhenren
- Scavenge for TeeMee
- Zhenren & TeeMee scavenge gold produced by killing non-hero enemies. They and nearby allies get a 20% increase of gold obtained this way.
- Their first skills are:
- Accident for Zhenren
- Pooty Poots for TeeMee
- Zhenren begins concocting a certain alchemy potion while Tee starts to panic. During this duration, they gain movement speed and a defense layer: Zhenren gets a shield, while TeeMee gets a flat damage reduction. On command or after the duration ends, Zhenren's potion explodes in his 'face' while Tee unleashes the reason why he panicked: A big, stinky fart. The explosion/fart damages and stuns enemy heroes. They deal greater damage, longer stun and receive better cooldown reduction (only if the explosion/fart hits an enemy hero) the longer they hold out, with Zhenren being able to completely eliminate the cooldown if he can hold out until the end and hit an enemy hero.
- Their second skills are:
- The Third Hand for Zhenren
- Chain Lance for TeeMee
- Zhenren's cauldron unleashes another hand, colored green, while Mee shoots out the chain attached to the lance on his armor. They travel to a direction, hitting the first enemy they come into contact with, deal damage and stun them. Immediately, Zhenren & TeeMee launch themselves to the target. This skill can hit an allied unit, in which they just jump to the ally without any friendly fire.
- Their ultimates are:
- Great Transformation for Zhenren
- Being a Bro for TeeMee
- Zhenren summons a substitute puppet while TeeMee utilizes the rune of resurrection. This act will protect themselves and a nearby hero with the lowest health. In a few seconds, those affected with the rune will automatically resurrect themselves on the spot with a portion of their HP restored. Zhenren & TeeMee can still use this skill even under crowd control effects. Zhenren can refund his skill's cooldown if no one is resurrected during the period, while whoever is revived by TeeMee will unleash an energy wave that deals damage and slows down nearby enemies.
Tropes applying to both
- Auto-Revive: Zhenren & TeeMee are the heroes with a classic 'revive other allies on death' in a similar manner to Zilean, Khepri and Kharazim. However, this also affects themselves, so the enemy has to contend with two heroes respawning immediately just after they killed them.
- Killer Rabbit: Downplayed. They're not carries, they're supports. But the sight of a glorified (and cute) minion riding on a big stove or a panicking pair of cute raccoons should bring dread to a group of enemies, in case they get close to explode/fart so massively they stun their oppositions, ready for Zhenren/TeeMee's team to wreck the enemy.
- You Will Not Evade Me: Their second skills are the inversion of Kui/Grakk's hook skills; Zhenren/TeeMee gets themselves to the enemy rather than themselves. For balance's sake, their range is much shorter.
Tropes applying exclusively to Zhenren
- Alchemy Is Magic: Zhenren is an alchemist, and he does some magic when utilizing such alchemy.
- Equivalent Exchange: In order to revive Nezha for good, Zhenren has to exchange something that equals life. The answer is another life, his in particular.
- The Faceless: His 'main face' is actually that minion/black mage-like figure atop of his cauldron, whose face is obscured. Then you realize that it's not even his real body. His real body and face has been destroyed in the process of reviving Nezha, so he's literally without a face and body.
- It's All My Fault: He blames himself for the miseries happening to Nezha's family, because of giving Nezha the Wonder Key to save him from his early sickness.
Tropes applying exclusively to TeeMee
- Big Eater: It's implied that Tee eats so much, sometimes eating a weird type of food that his stomach gets all achey, then he farts dangerous gas a lot.
- Fartillery: TeeMee's main crowd control manner is to fart on the enemies general direction. It's surprisingly deadly if Tee has held out his fart long enough.
- Fat and Skinny: Tee is the fat brother whereas Mee is the skinny one, so he gets to be the one who rides his brother.
- Rascally Raccoon: They may be cute and carefree, but in terms of rascal manners, they got it good. Why did they decide to steal an armor with Veda runes in it for no apparent reason? Though it worked out in the end.
- Sibling Team: Tee and Mee are brothers. And they fight together for reasons.
Zhuangzi

Original Name: Zhuang Zhou (庄周)
Other Names: Dreambuilder
Faction: Jixia Academy
Original Information: Creator/Zhuangzi was a Chinese Taoist philosopher living in the Warring States period and would end up becoming the (accidental) founder of Zen Buddhism. His teaching is very famous for its parables and Koans, with the most famous being the famous, but confusing anecdote of a man who dreams that he was a butterfly, and when he wakes up, he's confused whether he's himself or the butterfly dreaming as him. Positively, however, he teaches the philosophy of how people should be free to choose and live the lifestyles which they are happy with while not forcing their beliefs and actions onto others.
In-game bio: There exists a man who rides a mythical giant fish named Zhuangzi. Nothing is known about him except that he likes to daydream, and whatever he daydreams also sometimes turns into reality. Many men sought his services, but Zhuangzi detects that they just want to use his power to make money, so he declines all of them.
Zhuangzi eventually comes across the Jixia area. There, he learns to better control his dream power and eventually his ultimate wish comes true: He wants to create a place where people can learn while his power protects them all from danger. And so, Zhuangzi finally finds the place where he belongs: Being one of the founders of the Jixia Academy alongside Fuzi and Mozi, and becoming one of the Three Sages.
Chaugnar

Voiced by: Joji Nakata (JP)
Faction: Unknown (Related to Afata, but it's not quite known)
An ancient mammoth corrupted by the energy of chaos. Chaugnar became an envoy of chaos afterwards, seeing existence as merely an endless battle between order and chaos; everything else is meaningless. Those who approach him would be inflicted with madness with his mere presence alone. Several gifted humans sealed him in the Black Sea, but they could only postpone the inevitable; cracks would form, and Chaugnar would be free once more.
Kit
Zhuangzi & Chaugnar are Support/Tank heroes who are extremely tough, crowd control-resistant, and not really dealing damage, but grant enormous protection to their friends and disrupts their enemies by sheer presence alone.- Their passives are:
- Nature's Will for Zhuangzi
- Faithful Herald for Chaugnar
- Zhuangzi & Chaugnar periodically remove crowd control within themselves, increase their movement speeds and are given damage reduction.
- Zhuangzi's first skill is more similar to Chaugnar's second skill. They are:
- Kaleidoscope for Zhuangzi
- Energy Surge for Chaugnar
- Zhuangzi sends out a group of butterflies to a cone direction, while Chaugnar smashes the ground and unleashes energy geysers to the same direction. They deal magic damage and slow enemies in the area. Zhuangzi also temporarily enhances his passive by using this skill 2 seconds before the passive activates.
- Zhuangzi's second skill is more similar to Chaugnar's first skill. They are:
- Sleep Starts for Zhuangzi
- Shock Wave for Chaugnar
- Zhuangzi & Chaugnar unleash a circular shockwave around them and deal damage to their enemies. They place a mark to enemies hit with this, and if they hit the same target with the same skill (the cooldown is low enough), they deal additional damage. Zhuangzi can place up to 5 marks while Chaugnar can only place up to 2 marks. Zhuangzi also increases his own movement speed per stack. Passively, this skill is used automatically every 7 seconds, which will also trigger their passives.
- Their ultimates are:
- Butterfly Effect for Zhuangzi
- Chaos Protection for Chaugnar
- Zhuangzi & Chaugnar create a circle of protection around them. Allies near them will have their crowd control effects removed (except for Suppression) and gain temporary crowd control immunity. Zhuangzi also gives himself and his allies extra shields. Chaugnar only gives damage reduction (not shield), but he also gets 6 times the protection time compared to his allies, while also reducing the cooldown of Shock Wave and making its mana cost non-existent during this period.
Tropes applying to both
- Adaptational Villainy: Zhuangzi is a wise teacher with heads on his cloud, but Chaugnar is a chaos-bringing abomination and Expy of Cthulhu.
- No-Sell: They're all about getting rid of crowd control. If an enemy uses mass stun to put his team on the ropes, they can simply cancel it out with his ult. The only thing they can't cancel is suppress, only possessed by a few heroes (Liang/Aleister).
- Reality Warper: Their powers take the form of reshaping reality as they see fit.
- Stone Wall: They specialize so much in crowd control removal that their damage becomes puny. However, they are just naturally tanky and hard to stop by normal means, so beating them down would take a lot of effort.
Tropes applying exclusively to Zhuangzi
- Adaptational Attractiveness: Not much is known about how the real-life Zhuangzi looked in his prime. Whatever records remained about him portray him as an old man. Zhuangzi here is a rather attractive man.
- Animal Motifs: Nope, not his fish. It's actually butterflies, as he's based on the guy who coined the 'dream of a butterfly' parable.
- Bunny-Ears Lawyer: One of the sages of Jixia Academy and its most wizened teacher. He's also a sleepyhead who has his head on the clouds.
- Hot Teacher: He's the most conventionally attractive teachers of Jixia Academy, since the other 2 sages, Fuzi and Mozi, aren't exactly what you call 'pretty' (Fuzi is an old man, Mozi's real appearance is hidden within his Humongous Mecha, and he does make mention that he's an old man, so he wouldn't look too hot).
- Mysterious Past: While he's known as one of the founders of Jixia Academy, nobody knows what happened to him before. Nobody knows how he got his reality-warping power or what his childhood was like.
- Sleepyhead: He tends to doze off in the middle of the battlefield, since it allows him to enter his dream and unleash his power.
Tropes applying exclusively to Chaugnar
- Cruel Elephant: A mammoth corrupted by ancient chaos energy, transforming it into a Cthulhu-esque abomination. Even when he's mostly a Support hero, he's being supportive by going into the enemy ranks and messing with the people there as they futilely try to stop his advance.
- Eldritch Abomination: A Cthulhu-like being possessing a mammoth out to inflict everyone with madness.
- Expy: A Cthulhu-esque creature that takes the form of an elephant creature? Chaugnar is basically Tencent's take of the hero Cthulhuphant from Heroes of Newerth
- Token Evil Teammate: Sort of? While his lore was due for a rewrite, Chaugnar is lumped with the forest-dwelling Afata, where at least sea creatures like Kil'groth and Cresht were affiliated. But he stands far above the destructive intentions those two could ever have.
Semi-Counterpart Heroes
Semi-Counterpart Heroes are heroes from both games who had almost similar skillset, with one (or more) wildly different skill to set them apart.
Liu Shan (刘禅)

Other Names: Mischief
Faction: Three Kingdoms - Shu
Original Information: The son of Liu Bei, and second and last emperor of Shu. Liu Shan had extremely big shoes to fill with his father's departure, and yet he was not as competent or tenacious as his father. He ended up surrendering his kingdom to Wei/Jin and acted like he didn't care for the kingdom, but it granted him life and later peaceful death instead of being executed. Romance of the Three Kingdoms made up the reasoning behind his incompetence being that after he was saved as an infant in Changban by Zhao Yun, Liu Bei threw him to the ground for endangering the life of his treasured great general, giving Liu Shan brain damage, and he later became too close with eunuchs (most infamously Huang Hao) that influenced his decision-making. Despite future historians trying to give an alternative interpretation that he just wanted to put an end to the futile, impossible war that endangered his people, his nickname 'A Dou' has become synonymous with the term 'idiot'.
In-game bio: Liu Shan has been the crown prince of Shu ever since Liu Bei formed it. He's surprisingly an adept and intelligent kid, but Liu Bei still sends him to study under Kongming, who created many machines as a milestone for Liu Shan to follow. After a while creating automatically-moving machines like the wooden ox, Liu Shan then unveils his newest invention: M-1, a semi-Humongous Mecha he can pilot and help in times of war.
Originally, his plan was to showcase this to Kongming's previous school, the Jixia Academy. But war soon comes knocking in the form of the Wei Army under Cao Cao and backed with Xu Fu and the Blood Clan. Liu Shan has to cancel the presentation plan, but he's more than eager to show what his mecha can do when combined with his brain.
Omega

Voiced by:
Faction: N/A (Wanderer, formerly Veda)
Omega is a creation of Veda from the past, an inorganic life form endowed with intelligence. Despite his innate might and intellect, the Veda lost against Lokheim in the first invasion. While the Veda chose to abandon their allies, Omega instead stayed behind for the humans and lost his power in the process, buried in the dust of history. During this period, a girl put up a set of wind chimes on his body as a token of gratitude.
Many years later to the present day, Omega is retrieved by archeologist mages and repaired. His core is still linked to Veda, but when Ilumia calls for him, Omega ignores her in favor of contemplating between the nature of light and dark, good and evil. He then starts wandering for his own sake, seeking answers on what is truly the right thing to do, which may not be what Veda taught. The chimes from the girl are some of the things that can keep him calm.
Kit
Liu Shan & Omega are disruptive Support/Tank heroes who use their body to disrupt the enemy ranks after they accelerate to them, in addition of possessing effective tower-demolishing.Liu Shan & Omega used to be direct counterparts. However, later on, Omega received his own independent rework while Liu Shan retained his kit. However, it doesn't change the fact with the similarities between their kits.
- Their passives are:
- Magnetic Barrier for Liu Shan
- Surviving Memory for Omega
- Both Liu Shan & Omega deal extra damage to towers while disrupting it per attack.
- Liu Shan simply sets his attacks to ensure that he does not deal reduced damage against towers and also heals his own HP.
- Omega periodically enhances his normal attack to deal extra damage to enemies based on his max HP and deals extra damage to minions or jungle monsters.
- Their first skills are:
- Overcharge for Liu Shan
- Redeploy for Omega
- Liu Shan & Omega gain a shield and movement speed bonus (Omega has a bigger burst of speed, but it decays over time).
- The next time Liu Shan attacks, he also knocks up enemies around him while dealing bonus damage.
- During this state, Omega deals additional damage to enemies he comes in contact with (without attacking) and also knocks them away
- Their second skills are vastly different:
- Liu Shan's second skill is Robo Smash. Liu Shan simply deals a bunch of damage to enemies in front of him, also stunning them.
- Omega's second skill is Veda Tech . Omega deploys 5 flying objects around him that shoot nearby enemies and deal minor damage. This slightly reduces the cooldown of his skills and passive skill. If all 5 objects hit the same target, Omega enhances his next normal attack to deal extra damage and stun his target.
- Their ultimates are:
- Take it for a Spin for Liu Shan
- Land of the Saints for Omega
- Liu Shan spreads his mecha's arms and starts spinning around while Omega summons a set of shield barriers around himself that spin around. During this time, enemies that come near them will suffer damage over time.
- During Liu Shan's spin, he can still execute a normal attack, which will slow down his targets.
- Omega's shield barrier can knock back the same target up to 4 times. The barrier also blocks ranged normal attacks.
Tropes applying to both
- Siege Engines: They're very much souped up siege-units that are turned into heroes. They deal extra damage to structures, making them very good at demolishing towers. Liu Shan has a 'mecha/engine', whereas Omega is an engine.
- Spin Attack: Their ultimates will involve something spinning to attack and disrupt their enemies.
- Stone Wall: Ultimately, they're mostly there to stand tough and be a meat shield for their team while making sure that enemies that get near them will get so disrupted they become easy pickings to the team, and they're kind of hard to kill.
Tropes applying exclusively to Liu Shan
- Adaptational Badass: The usual Sucksessor of Shu is still a kid, but he's a tower-wrecker and effective tanking disruptor in Honor of Kings.
- Adaptational Intelligence: Who would have guessed that the person who is marked as the symbol of 'idiot' by his country is portrayed as a kid genius who can invent machines? For reference, the historical Liu Shan was never thrown to the ground to suffer brain damage, so he'd later make foolish decisions on his own. Liu Shan here not only never got thrown to the ground as a baby, he grew up as a prodigy.
- Child Prodigy: Even at a young age, he invents his own Humongous Mecha for him to pilot.
- Mythology Gag: His achievement title in the global version is "The Wunderkind". It's also the title held by another genius kid-inventor in Athanor, Max (although he doesn't share Liu Shan's moveset)
- Hero-Worshipper: He practically worships the ground Liu Bei walks. It also helps that Liu Bei here is not at all abusive.
- Shout-Out: One of his laments on dying is "Not even my father hit me!"note
Tropes applying exclusively to Omega
- Art Evolution: His revamp gives him a new model, one that actually has legs this time.
- Contemplate Our Navels: Omega, in his wandering, is left to ponder about his nature as a weapon and wonder which one is good and evil, and whether the Veda fed him with lies or not.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Omega abandons Veda's order to leave behind the humans and opts to protect a human settlement for the sake of protecting them. It gets him de-activated via fighting.
- Killer Robot: He's a robot designed to wreck around the forces of evil. However, his core becomes very humane that he starts doubting which ones are evil (that he should kill) and which ones are good (that he shouldn't kill).
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here!: On waking up, Ilumia calls for him, but after he remembers how she abandoned mankind in dire times, he decides to just ignore her and not return to Veda.
- Walking the Earth: Omega's allegiance is only to himself as he walks around Athanor in contemplation.
Arena of Valor Former Counterpart Heroes
Former Counterpart Heroes are Arena of Valor heroes who used to be a full-blown counterpart of their Honor of Kings version, until the latter gets a revamp and gains a proper counterpart on their own, leaving the former without any counterparts. This also works vice-versa.
Exclusive to Honor of Kings
Dun Shan (盾山)

Other Names: Shieldun
Faction: Great Wall
Original Information: Dun Shan is an original character to Honor of Kings
Dyadia

Original Name: Shao Siyuan (少司缘)
Faction: Misty Marshes
Original Information: Dyadia is an original character to Honor of Kings.
In-game bio: Dyadia is born with a sad destiny to be alone all the time. Growing up, she is ostracized all the time until she meets the bright young boy named Qi. With his help, Dyadia slowly regains her confidence. However, thanks to the Wilting, her friend seemingly dies. However, Dyadia has gained enough confidence that she once again becomes a gentle girl, and eventually becomes a mystic priestess in the Misty Marshes.
She makes a living by being some sort of 'fortune teller/matchmaker'; she reads how the 'Flow' affects the people's bonds and they're always accurate. However, the truth is, Dyadia seemingly just reads the people's hearts and makes accurate conclusions from that. Days seems to as idyllic as possible for Dyadia, until she gets to meet a peculiar client, the High Priest of Seers, Augran. Behind this man's taciturn face lies a familiar face Dyadia hasn't seen for a long time...
Dyadia is a Support hero who swings around between the ground and latching to her allies or enemies while granting them blessing and marking her enemies for disasters while boosting her own gold generation in the same time.
- Her passive is Melodic Swing. After a certain time has passed, Dyadia's attack is enhanced where she hops on a swing and swings to the enemy feet first. This attack deals extra damage and causes a knockback to the target, and then Dyadia jumps backwards a bit to create further distance. The time to prepare for the enhancement is reduced when any hero receives the effects of Blessing of Fate or Bitter Reconciliation (from her 1st and 2nd skills), and in the same time, Dyadia gains 20 extra gold.
- Her first skill is Heartlink. Dyadia blesses an ally to be healed for a flat amount of HP. She can use this skill again within 5 seconds, and if she doesn't, the cooldown will be reset.
- If she blesses two different allies, the two allies will receive bonus movement speed when they walk towards each other. When they meet, Blessing of Fate is triggered: The two teammates will be healed again and maintain the bonus movement speed for 2 seconds.
- If she blesses an already-blessed ally, Dyadia will latch onto the ally, becoming untargetable, and triggers Blessing of Fate immediately: She heals herself and the blessed ally, and the ally gains movement speed bonus.
- Her second skill is Bitter Farewell. Dyadia marks an enemy with a bitter bond, revealing them on the map, dealing damage and making them lose 2 gold over time. When this effect ends, they receive a flat amount of damage.
- If she marks two different enemies, the two enemies will be have their movement speed penalized if they try to move close to each other. If they do manage to get close, then this triggers Bitter Reconciliation: The damage from Bitter Farewell is no longer affecting them, and they regain the gold lost from the skills.
- If she marks an already-marked enemy, Dyadia will latch into the enemy like a parasite. Unlike the Heartlink version, Dyadia can still be damaged, but she takes less damage. She also immobilizes the marked enemy and deals flat damage to them, and this is counted as triggering Bitter Reconciliation.
- Her ultimate is Destined Encounter. Dyadia gathers a swarm of wisps and launches them forward in a form of a crescent wave. Allies hit with this wave will be healed and be blessed with the effect of Heartlink, while enemies hit with this wave will be damaged and marked with the effect of Bitter Farewell. If the ally/enemy has already been blessed.marked, then the duration will be refreshed, be healed/damaged for more, and blessed allies will receive movement speed bonus while marked enemies will be immobilized. The base heal/damage scales with how many golds Dyadia has procured by using her passive.
- Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: The gentle girl to Augran the brooding boy. At least that's how it is in the present. In the past, this was actually reversed: Dyadia was the brooding, gloomy girl, while Augran, as Qi, was the gentle and optimistic boy.
- Conlang: Shares the same occasional lapse into native language like Augran. It's actually closer to the Sanskrit language, and if the Indonesian dub is used, she instead speaks Javanese.
- Dub Name Change: Just like Da Siming/Augran, she is changed from Shao Siyuan into Dyadia.
- Heal the Cutie: Dyadia was born broken because of being ostracized. But thanks to Qi/Augran, she was able to become the sweet and gentle lady she is in the present day.
- The Matchmaker: Her day job as a mystic is to reunite separated lovers. The game also integrates this well: Dyadia can bless two allies to act like 'separated lovers' and they will receive extra bonuses if they can move towards each other. The enemies can be marked/cursed, but they can actually reverse the misfortune if they can reunite. But Dyadia is making it as hard as possible for her enemies, forcing them to use perseverance to de-curse themselves.
- Official Couple: Ever since her development phase, it's already been decreed that she's going to be a couple with Augran.
- The Red Mage: She's capable of both healing and dealing damage, but she's mostly used for her utilities than the flat amount of damage/heal she's giving.
- Shoulder Teammate: She takes a few notes from Yaria and Aya to be able to latch onto allies, and adds up being able to latch to enemies as well. But, Dyadia cannot indefinitely stay in the ally/enemy nor cast independent skills when latching.
Kong Kong'er
Faction: Chang'an
Luban

Original Name: Master Luban (鲁班大师)
Faction: Jixia Academy
Sakeer

Original Name: Sang Qi (桑启)
Faction: Ghabet Fireflies, Alsahraa
Original Information: Sakeer is an original character to Honor of Kings
In-game bio: Born in the Firefly Valley, Sakeer grows up listening to stories of the outside world until there are no more stories of his ancestors. He then sneaks out of the valley carrying an ancestral storybook and a wooden sword from his father, gathering as many stories as he can, which starts out at Alsahraa. He ends up stumbling into Madinat Fresco, and by the time he returns there, 100 years have passed. He's then helped by Garo and Prince of Lanling to return back home but only finds a deserted place due to his 100 years of absence. And yet, he chins up and begins telling stories he collected so far from his journey under the withered Firefly Ancestral Tree. From that, the stories cause actual fireflies to spring and fly around like it's alive again. The Ancestral Tree slowly gains power and upgrades Sakeer's sword into "The Sword of Hope". Additionally, a seed is planted near the now withered Ancestral Tree, waiting for a new Ancestral Tree to be born. But for the moment, Sakeer ventures throughout the world once again. There will be more stories to gather.
Sakeer is a Support hero who is assisted with his fireflies to do various tasks to control the battlefield, either by healing friends or harming enemies or creating bushes out of nowhere for his allies to hide in and containing a surprise for his enemies.
- His passive is Firefly Protection. Sakeer's basic attacks also summon one firefly to strike the enemy, dealing extra magical damage and exposing them for 3 seconds. Whenever he's around, he automatically restores nearby teammates' HP, prioritizing those with the lowest health. When there are no enemies nearby, Sakeer can charge up his normal attack to recover his own HP, but doing so interrupts his process of healing nearby friends.
- His first skill is Mulberry Power. Sakeer gradually gathers 'Luminescence' every 1.5 seconds, up until he has 9 stacks. He can spend all of the Luminescence he has to cast a magical explosion on an area, dealing magic damage and launching enemies, or healing one teammate with the lowest health in the area. The skill's range increases depending on how many Luminescence he has stacked.
- His second skill is Ride the Wind. Sakeer immediately leaps to a bush and gains a stack of Luminescence once he lands. After flying a certain distance, he releases a firefly to the map. After 1 second, the firefly can fly to any passing hero. If the hero is a teammate, the firefly heals them. If the hero is an enemy, the firefly damages them.
- His ultimate is Firefly Fields. Sakeer summons an Illuminating Bush, which generally works like any other bush on the map with some extra perks:
- Within 6 seconds, Sakeer can recast the ultimate to immediately fly to the Illuminating Bush and gain a stack of Luminescence.
- After 1 second has passed since the bush was created, it will release up to 5 fireflies to nearby heroes. Allied heroes will be healed; enemy heroes will be damaged.
- Enemies that step into that bush will be denied a bush's hiding feature; they will be revealed.
- After a while, the Illuminating Bush will lose its special properties and be treated like a normal bush, which lasts until 30 seconds.
- Animal Motifs: Fireflies. They pop up everywhere he goes, and play a factor on either attacking enemies or healing himself and allies. Also, he can 'fly' like a firefly.
- Badass Adorable: He's an adorable young boy who is also a potent Support hero, providing utility and occasionally wrecking his enemies with his sword.
- Dub Name Change: He's changed from Sang Qi to Sakeer in order to show that he's from the Middle East-based Alsahraa
- Early-Bird Cameo: Global-exclusive version only. He pops up wearing one of his skins as a cameo in one of Alessio's season-story cutscenes. However, unlike in the Chinese version, he's released way later after Alessio in the global version. Therefore, in that version, his appearance counts as this trope.
- Healing Hands: Sakeer's basic attacks and abilities grant a healing effect if they hit a teammate. He can even do this while doing nothing (his passive). However, he heals less than Cai Yan to make up for his other utilities.
- The Red Mage: Sakeer's fireflies has the property of healing allies they touch, but harming enemies they touch.
- Shout-Out: Although he's not a direct copy of someone, Sakeer's Middle Eastern-ish global name, his feminine looks and storytelling schthick imply that he's actually a Gender Flip of the 'reader' of the Arabian Nights, Scheherazade. Even both of his names (Sakeer and Sang Qi) can be said to be a more 'masculine' version of Scheherazade.
- Stereotype Flip: Sakeer is pretty much a reverse of how Arabians or Middle Easterners are portrayed in fiction. While his home is a desert based region, he has no control of sands and instead utilizes either Healing Hands or the ability to make lushful nature (hence, why he can create bushes out of nowhere). He's not at all wearing a turban and is portrayed as a curious little boy storyteller than a nomad-like warrior wearing a turban.
- The Storyteller: He's on a journey to tell stories from his book and make an experience for himself so he can put even more stories in it.

Faction: Carano City/Magic Academy
An apprentice mage from Carano sent to the city of Seasoul and becomes their mage. Unfortunately, Annette has an incredibly clumsy personality, so she's losing her trust within Seasoul and risks being recalled to the Carano Magic Academy. In her last night before recalling, Annette prophesied an incoming terrible storm. That storm really comes, but this time Annette is able to use her magic to protect the city of Seasoul. Finally being trusted by the people of Seasoul, Annette is given a magic tower to observe the town and the Seasoul citizenship, finally becoming the great mage she dreamed of and the liaison between Carano and Seasoul. She's still clumsy, but her achievements more or less make up for it.
Annette is Support/Mage hero who specializes in zoning and creating space between allies and enemies by using her wind forces.
- Her passive is Whisperwind. If Annette stays nearby an allied hero, she gets a slight movement speed boost. As long as she moves around, she increases her own mana regeneration and cooldown reduction.
- Her first skill is Gust Force. Annette makes a circular area start generating swirling winds to damage enemies entering the area over time and also slowing them down. The slowing effect can stack per hit.
- Her second skill is Diviner. Annette shoots out a wind orb with a force so great it knocks her backwards, creating some space. The wind orb deals damage to the enemy while giving a shield to allies that it comes in contact with (and herself automatically). She also gains a temporary movement speed boost.
- Her ultimate is Hurricane Wall. Annette creates a circular barrier of wind with magic. During the barrier creation, all enemies are knocked back until they're outside of the barrier and receive damage. If they try to touch the barrier after the creation, they get another damage and are stunned. Allies can move freely within the barrier and, in fact, gets crowd control immunity if they get in the barrier. Annette can recast this skill to cancel.
- Bespectacled Cutie: A Cute Witch who's sporting thick glasses for better foresight or just enhances her clumsy image.
- Blow You Away: Annette use wind forces to support you along the battle, being the wind beneath your wings.
- Cute Clumsy Girl: Annette often lost her belongings and got the nickname of "dumb girl", makes she got distrusted when she is on internship.
- Cute Witch: Annette is a young and cute magic wielder, and sometimes her staff is used similarly to a witch's broom, like in her splash art.
- Has a Type: Loves a good looking tanned man with attractive smiles. This may mean she'll never go beyond 'just friends' with Ata, despite his crush on her.
- Support Party Member: Annette doesn't deals damage well enough to harm someone, but her skills can create a massive space and knocks enemies off their path of destroying her allies.
