  • Adorably Precocious Child: Someday, Sealand will be a huge empire that even that jerk England will bow down to, while Ladonia demands to be made leader of the Micronations in his introduction.
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: Sealand has England's eyebrows exactly, while Hutt River and Wy have slightly scaled-back versions of them. In Wy's case, she's the first girl to sport them!
  • Bratty Half-Pint: Sealand, Ladonia and Wy all have instances of this. In Sealand's case, it only really comes out when he's around England, while Ladonia is bratty toward the other micronations as well as Sweden, and Wy is a Mouthy Kid and Little Miss Snarker.
  • Hair Color Dissonance:
    • Much like North Italy, is Seborga and Wy's hair brown or red?
    • For Hutt River: Is it a dark blond or a light brown, or even a much darker brown? It varies depending on the illustration.
  • Idiot Hair:
    • Seborga has one similar to both Italy brothers' curls, but it has a more bent-up appearance as opposed to a smooth spiral. As per usual, Himaruya did a nice sketch to let us spot the differences.
    • Kugelmugel has one that sticks straight up and looks like Austria's, since Kugelmugel itself located in Vienna, Austria, but sometimes it's hidden.
    • Hutt River has one, unlike Australia. With it, his hairstyle looks like a wavy, light brown version of America's.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: They want to be recognized as nations in their own right.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: Sealand, representative of his cheerful and innocent nature, as well as being the color of the sea. Ladonia as well, likely just because of him being a child. Or they might allude to his naivete in thinking that he can beat Sweden.
  • Keet: Sealand and Ladonia are extremely energetic.
  • Mirror Character: Ladonia and Sealand. Both are very bold, incredibly precocious children disposed toward brattiness toward an authority figure in their lives — England for Sealand and Sweden for Ladonia, respectively.
  • Non-Human Sidekick:
    • Sealand was seen with a seagull (with a hat matching his own) on a chibi drawing of himself.
    • Wy was seen with a bunny in her first manga appearance. The rabbit is her boss' favourite animal, along with the dolphin.
    • Molossia has a dog that oddly looks like an alpaca.
    • Hutt River has a bilby.
    • Nikko Nikko has a weird bird-thing, maybe a chicken?
  • Only Six Faces:
    • Even the author acknowledges that Kugelmugel looks like a short Iceland with twintails.
    • Wipe that paint and smirk off his face, and Ladonia can pass for Latvia. In fact, when he was first introduced and we didn't know which nation he was, some fans called him Badass!Latvia or Seme!Latvia for the time being.
      • Lars Vilks, the founder of Ladonia, is part Latvian.
  • Perpetual Smiler:
    • Seborga is constantly smiling, and very cheerful and carefree.
    • Nikko Nikko, according to his character notes. After all, Nikko Nikko means "smiling" in Japanese.
  • Pride: Ladonia spends his introduction bragging about his popularity and accomplishments (real and imagined) and looking down on the other micronations. Hutt River is a lighter example: He's definitely arrogant, but is friendlier than your usual example.
  • Pointless Band-Aid: Wy has one on her forehead, and Hutt River has one on his right cheek. Seems to be a running theme with Australian nations.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Considering how odd their nationhood came to be, they fit the bill.
  • The Rival: Though he is more arrogant than dark, Hutt River is apparently one to Wy. She's very peeved when he comes in.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: All of them (save Nikko-Nikko), in this picture. It's also zig-zagged: Most of them usually wear normal clothes, and are shown wearing formal outfits. Hutt River usually goes around in his royal family's regalia (including a purple cape) and shows up in a plainer, more subtle-coloured outfit, but said outfit includes a light brown tailcoat, which is more formal than the suits the other boys wear.
  • Trademark Favorite Food:
    • Nikko Nikko has radium eggs.
Nikko Nikko: This egg is delicious!
    • Ladonia has his legendary golden apples, he even wears a broach of one.
  • Tsundere:
    • Molossia flips Sealand, Seborga and Wy off when they ask him to be their new friend, but runs back to join them as soon as they leave.
    • Wy insisted that it was a "coincidence" that she wore the dress Sealand told her to in Hetaween 2011, causing Seborga to comment that she takes after England.
    • Ladonia is hostile to Sealand and the other micronations at first, but ends up joining their group later. He's also had his friendly moments with Sealand, no matter how much he seems to dislike him.

Principality of Sealand — Peter Kirkland

"Aim for it! Sealand will enter the G8!"
Voiced by: Kanae Kasuga (Flower of Iris CD), Haruka Hoshizuki (promotional Hetalia clips), Ai Orikasa (JP), Maxey Whitehead (EN)

A sea fort that was neglected by England that became a nation before England knew what happened! He's an active boy with a really cheerful voice who's the self-proclaimed smallest nation in the world! England finds him irritating but that doesn't really concern Sealand at all. The Prince of Sealand always seems to go somewhere everyday so the soldiers left there look after Sealand while he's away.

He may a small body, but it's entirely made of steel so he can shoot a Rocket Punch and also boast at a probably unreasonable level. Lately, he's been selling Noble Ranks to America and Japan, but he's still been doing pretty good. He prefers a pleasant internet.

Now currently recruiting friends and countries that have recognized him as a country. His hobby is to play football with other nations that haven't been recognized too.

  • Made of Iron: He is literally made of steel. In real life. Fanon agrees that his punches have the same affect.
  • Megaton Punch: When Ladonia asks him if there's anything he can beat him in:
Sealand: (holding up a fist) My punches are really strong! Do you wanna see?
    Ladonia: (panicked) No, don't!
  • More Dakka: Uses these against the aliens in Paint It White!. It doesn't work.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Once attended a G8 meeting "disguised" as Canada... wearing a fake Idiot Hair and carrying a teddy bear. He's found out when he starts insulting and criticizing England.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Looks like a preteen, but packs quite a punch.
  • The Rival: Shows shades of this toward TRNC in the first drama CD; when Sealand tries to befriend TRNC, he's rejected outright, and TRNC drives him to tears pointing out that he (TRNC) is recognized by Turkey, while Sealand isn't recognized by anyone.
  • Sentai: He loves Sentai and Japan even teaches him how to transform into a Humongous Mecha! His Rocket Punch has to land on poor Latvia, of course.
  • Skip of Innocence: When fantasizing about presents he wants from Santa at one point.
  • Super-Strength: He demonstrates this during the Hetalia Bloodbath 2010.
  • Super-Strong Child: It's justified by him being literally Made of Iron (or, well, an iron alloy) as the personification of a sea fort.
  • Unusual Euphemism: He lampshades this in the dub:
Sealand: Sometimes I ride the goat while swabbing the deck, and that is not a euphemism for anything.
  • Verbal Tic: Sealand finishes most of his sentences with "desu yo", which lends his speech an emphatic tone.

    Principality of Seborga
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/seborgasuit.jpg
"So you must be little Wy! Hmmm, maybe I'll hit on you after a couple hundred years go by."
Voiced by: Hiroshi Okamoto (JP), Austin Tindle (EN)

A composed and carefree man that was originally an independent nation seated on a hilltop, before it became a part of Italy. When he declared independence, not only was there zero dispute between Italy and Seborga, but even today he still takes his duties, rights and freedoms as an Italian citizen seriously! When Seborga declared independence, Italy was receiving quite a few more tourists than usual, so they thought it'd be a good time for some good business. But not only did the people of Seborga not really want to do business, but the shops opened late and closed early and the people of Seborga continued to enjoy their calm, laid-back lifestyle during this period.

  • Big Brother Mentor: To the rest of the Micronations.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: As seen in the quote above, he flirts with girls a lot but passes Wy for being too young for him. He still promises to hit on her when She Is All Grown Up.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: If one doesn't consider his introduction where he's stuck in a tree upside-down while ketchup drips from his forehead while still being awfully cheerful strange, then what is?
  • Dismotivation: Among all the Micronations, he actually could try to be officially independent but... it's just too much work, you know?
  • Fun Personified: According to his profile, he's "a cheerful, self-proclaimed independent nation seated on a hilltop."
  • Large Ham Title: "I'm the border-crossing seducer, Seborga!"
  • Latin Lover: invokedWord of God says that he's more successful with the ladies compared to Italy and Romano.
  • Smarter Than You Look: Spends most of his day as spacey and girl-crazy, but he was the only one to notice Ladonia was following them around.

    Principality of Wy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_principality_of_wy_1.jpg
"Did you think we're buddies? But I'm different from you... I've been re-cog-ni-zed!"
Voiced by: Mikako Komatsu (JP), Lindsay Seidel (EN)

A mouthy little girl that decided to get her independence when Australia didn't allow "Prince" Paul Delprat have a road built. She was officially accepted and is now busy coming up with an anthem and a flag. She loves art and draws every single day.

    Republic of Kugelmugel
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kugelmugelsuit.jpg
"Declaring my independence is...ART!!!!"
Voiced by: Mitsuhiro Ichiki (JP), Clifford Chapin (EN)

A micronation created by an artist in Austria. His whole country is based on art. Maybe trying to gain independence is another form of art. The braids are art too!

  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Has white hair in manga illustrations, while his anime appearance gave him platinum blond hair.
  • Artistic License – History: At one point, Kugelmugel is depicted talking to his "king". The micronation was a republic, and thus never had a king.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: His braids made him look more feminine and confused fans and nations alike on his true gender.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Wears braided twintails and overall looks so feminine that he has been mistaken for a girl by others.
  • Large Ham: His introduction in spades; he freaks out and starts yelling about art while rolling around on the ground. It even scares the other micronations away — at least temporarily; they let him join the group in the end.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Baumkuchen, but only in fanon. In his first appearance in the manga, he wonders if the dessert can be considered as art.
  • Unsettling Gender-Reveal: During the 2011 Christmas event, Liechtenstein is confused when Germany refers to Kugelmugel as a boy.

    Republic of Molossia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/molossia_1.jpg
"Sunnovabitch! You formally entered the country?!"
Voiced by: Kaito Ishikawa (JP), Cris George (EN)

A mysterious country that lives an isolated life in one of America's inland states, Nevada. He is a very serious young man that is always collecting taxes from America, but he tries really hard to look like a bad guy on the outside. Only 10 people are allowed to go sight see his territory per year.

    Principality of Hutt River
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/huttriver_anime.jpg
"Paying your respects to me, your senior, is simple etiquette, yes?"
Voiced by: Masatomo Nakazawa (JP), David Matranga (EN)

Wy's senior. He is always oddly dazzling and far too free-thinking. He is famous in Australia and his house is pretty complex for a micronation.

  • Hair Flip: At least three times in the manga that introduces him: twice when debating over Sealand's proposition to join his group of friends (the flipping-behing-the-ear variant then the tossing-in-the-air one) then another time at the end with the other micronations (again the flipping-behind-the-ear kind). You can conclude hair flipping is a habit of his.
  • Land Down Under: Lampshaded by Wy of all people:
Wy: ...Hm? A Rolls-Royce? Incredible clean and organized facilities? A bilby? We're in Australia!
  • Pimped-Out Cape: Like the rest of his outfit, it is part of his home's regalia (see link above, not the one about bilbies, the one above it), even though it is, along with the sash, of another colour.
  • Purple Is Powerful: When he appears in the (uncoloured) manga that introduced new micronations, Sealand comments on how he "looks like an amazing and important person". Then, at the end, Hima added coloured chibis of every micronation introduced, revealing Hutt's cape being purple, adding to the "amazing and important" effect. He is the first Australian micronation after all and the fact that he is quite developped compared to most micronations in general helps a lot too.

    Republic of Nikko Nikko
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hllww34_nikkonikko.jpg
Nikko Nikko Jr.
"A Halloween Party? I certainly would like to go, but I've already withdraw from nation status, so..."
Voiced by: Dallas Reid (EN)

A micronation that tried to become independent from Japan. He used to be a mountain hot spring, but returned to being an ordinary Japanese person. He's an easygoing, quiet oddball who loves radium eggs.

  • Brought Down to Normal: He voluntarily gave up his status as a micronation to live as a Japanese citizen once more. invokedWord of God says he still represents his micronation, but he ages like a normal person.
    • When he shows up in Hetaween 2013, he's grown into an adult with a child of his own...while Sealand and Ladonia haven't changed at all.
  • I'm Standing Right Here: Sealand screams in pain after learning he went back to be a Japanese citizen, but Wy points out Nikko Nikko is just sitting behind him.
  • Noodle Incident: Just how he went from a normal human to a nation in the first place is never explained. Japan is completely bewildered by it.
Nikko Nikko: If you believe and try your best, your dreams will come true, won't they, Japan?
Japan: What on Earth did you try your best at?!
  • Ordinary High-School Student: He starts out as the Middle School variant of the trope, and Japan remarks that his going from human to nation is an anomaly.
  • Ridiculously Average Guy: Has a stable job at Dake hot springsnote  and kids after giving up his nation-hood. He also looks older now so he's aging normally. It seems to be working just fine for him.

    Ladonia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ladoniasuit.jpg
"The only one with the power to gather all the micronations is a true blue like me!"
Voiced by: Daiki Yamashita (JP), Justin Briner (EN)

An internet country created by Swedish technicians. He's a bit cheeky, but all in all a regular primary school kid. He is leading a fight with Sweden (or so he likes to think).

  • Badass Adorable: He thinks he's this, because Sweden pretends to be defeated every time he attacks.
  • Cyberspace: He exists in the internet apparently (and presumably in Sweden).
  • Hologram: He has a "physical" form as long as his laptop is on.
  • Facial Markings: He has a streak of paint across his right cheek and nose.
  • Fiery Red Head: He's notable for being the first unambiguously red-haired character, and he's hotheaded indeed.
  • The Rival: Acts as one toward Sealand, trying to take over as leader of the micronations, but Sealand doesn't reciprocate at all.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Treats Sealand as this, but it's one sided. Sealand likes Ladonia and calls him "interesting".
  • Spoiled Brat: Prone to throwing tantrums when things don't go his way. Of course, since Sweden seems incapable of disciplining him...
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: He was totally not following Sealand and company around, seriously!

    Aerican Empire
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_ffeb6d5afab25a8a9850eeafdced9c20_6827b35d_1280.jpg
A micronation from Canada, who claims territories on Mars and Pluto, and in Canada and Australia. He is a sci-fi geek.
  • Mr. Imagination: The Aerican Empire believes a lot in imagination, it could well be that he runs on imagination.
  • Proud to Be a Geek: If his lightsaber is an indication, and if his predilection for sci-fi is to be believed.
  • Robot Buddy: Has a spherical robot that keeps in his hand. Apparently, this is modeled after the smiley face in his flag.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Tells Hutt River that he should not cease of thinking of himself as a nation, as Hutt River could still live on imagination.

     Republic of Slowjamastan
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20231012_105909.jpg
A micronation from America who is Molossia's disciple. He was just recently established in 2021 and had attended Microcon this 2023.
  • Cool Bike: He made his entrance by riding on a motorcycle.
  • Cute Little Fangs: Due to his raccoon motif, you can see his fangs are prominent.
  • Younger Than They Look: He looks like a teenager but had only been established in 2021, making him only two years old. Wy was shock to find her junior doesn't fit her image of him.

Alternative Title(s): Micronations, Axis Powers Hetalia Micronations
