Deutsche Marine

The German Navy. This includes shipgirls from the Kaiserliche Marine of WWI and the Kreigsmarine of WWII.
     Admiral Hartmann
Admiral in charge of the German shipgirls.
     Graf Zeppelin
Real name Henrietta, a natural born former Lufthansa Air Stewardess who awoke when Abyssals attacked her flight.
  • Official Couple: Is in a relationship with fellow Naturalborn Sofia aka Aquila
     Prinz Eugen
3rd Ship of the Admiral Hipper Class of Heavy Cruisers.

  • Cool Big Sis: To Hanna. While not related to him she tries to fill this role for Harry too.
  • Cool Teacher / Hot Teacher: Responsible for teaching Harry both German and Chemistry. Still as pretty as ever.
  • Genki Girl: As enthusiastic as she is in canon.
  • Mythology Gag: As a nod to her Azur Lane counterpart, she and Prince Of Wales have something going on between them.

     Hanna Hipper
The Natural Born shipgirl KMS Lützow (later Petropavlovsk), 5th of the Admiral Hipper-class heavy cruisers.

  • Abusive Parents: Or Maternal Uncle in her instance.
    • Birds of a Feather: Both Hanna and Harry share similar childhoods, and they bond over their experiences.
  • Glorious Mother Russia: Perhaps alluding to the real ship's service, has a German Mother but a Russian Father.
  • Grievous Harm with a Body: Did this with Fenrir Grayback and a female werewolf from his pack against the rest of his pack.
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: By Word of God her father was a Squib, so she may have some paternally inherited magic potential.
  • Pintsized Powerhouse: Possesses a build the same as any other girl her age (early teens) yet enjoys weightlifting and can easily embarrass professional bodybuilders. And murder Werewolves and demons.
  • Pre Ass Kicking One Liner: Had one thing to say about Fenrir Grayback using her to establish his status as an alpha.
Then the smile fell off his face as Hanna shook and began to laugh. "Oh... you're not going to show me that you're an alpha." Her head then whipped up and all that Fenrir had of warning was her grinning. "I'm going to show you!"
    • During Fourth Year delivers an epic one to a summoned demon during the assault on Castle Kozma when she quotes Superman:
Hanna threw her opponent fully sixty feet away to slam into the other stone wall, producing another spiderweb of cracks and flashes of the reinforcement wards along with another thundercrack.

"Ich fühle mich, als würde ich in einer Welt aus Pappe leben, immer darauf bedacht, nichts und niemanden zu verletzen. Ich darf nie die Kontrolle verlieren, auch nicht für einen Moment, sonst könnte jemand sterben. Aber du kannst es aushalten, nicht wahr, großer Mann? Was wir hier haben, ist eine seltene Gelegenheit für mich, loszulassen und dir zu zeigen, wie mächtig ich wirklich bin. (I feel like I live in a world made of cardboard, always taking constant care not to break something, to break someone. Never allowing myself to lose control even for a moment, or someone could die. But you can take it, can't you, big man? What we have here is a rare opportunity for me to cut loose and show you just how powerful I really am.)"

Hot on the heels of her quoting Superman's 'World of Cardboard' speech, Hanna slammed into the dazed demon at a full sprint.
  • These Hands Have Killed: Was not happy afterwards about being forced to kill Fenrir Grayback and his pack. Which is why she chooses to go see Harry after his first year at Hogwarts; her own first-killing experience with Fenrir gives her better perspective on what he's going through, and he was there for her then so she's returning the favour.

     SMS Nassau
Built in response to HMS Dreadnought, Nassau is the Mother of All German Battleships. Unfortunately, as her design was an absolute mess, and her service history was one episode of Derp after the next, she's... Well, a klutz.

  • A Mother to Her Navy: Despite her clumsiness, she is the mother of ships like Bismark, Tirpitz, Kaiserin, Bayern, and Gneissenau, and is respected by them. And that respect has extended to the rest of the German shipgirl fleet. To the point that they go out of their way to hide the more... debauched happenings of the Eternal U-Boat Party from her.
  • All Women Are Prudes: Has Met Inga Koch/Magical German Cruiser Prinz Heinrich. She was not impressed.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: As per her poorly arranged design and service history in real life, she's a bit of a klutz. She can barely walk a few feet without risking her footing.
  • Females Are More Innocent: Knows that the Eternal U-Boat Party exists, and that wild things happen there. The worst that she can think of being gambling, excessive drinking, and (horror!) loud music! No one has the lack of heart to tell her about the drugs and wild sex, especially with the fact that most of her daughters are repeat participants.
  • Fur Against Fang: Unknown to her daughters, Mutter Nassau isn't just in a Love Triangle, but the paramours are a German werewolf and Spanish vampire!
  • Grande Dame: Very much so. Like her 'head of family' counterparts HMS Dreadnought and USS South Carolina, Nassau is uptight, stuffy, conservative, fussy, and yet incredibly loving and supportive to her children, as best seen when her daughter SMS Kaiserin becomes the first shipgirl to climb the Eiger's North Face (which has killed over 60 people in failed attempts) in Switzerland alongside her future husband.
    "{More coffee, madam?}"

Down below at the base of the mountain, a brown-haired grand dame — dressed in an elegant green wool fur-lined dress that could have come from the golden age of alpining during the Nineteenth and early Twentieth Centuries — nodded to the waiter in the outdoor cafe where she had been sitting since they had opened for business. "{Please, if you would be so kind. Also another plate of ''meitschibei'' hazelnut pastries, if you could? I can see why they are a regional specialty.}"

Throughout her conversations with the cafe's staff over the next twelve hours of daylight, SMS Nassau's steely and proud gaze did not waver a millimeter from where she had her rangefinders and lookout's Zeiss optical telescopes locked on the two colorful dots that were Wilhelm and Kaiserin while they slowly crawled higher and higher up the Eiger's massive bulk.
  • Kicking Ass in All Her Finery: Is never publicly seen in anything other than a suitable and fashionable dress, hat, and accessories like the Wilhelmine noblewoman that she is. As for the "kicking ass", she IS a battleship with six main gun turrets who has beaten an Abyssal submarine to surrender with her parasol for accosting her.
  • Office Lady: Commonly seen in the offices of Admiral Hartmann, chiefly due to being a slightly obsolete Pre-WWI design compared to the WWII Bulk of shipgirls.
  • Parasol of Prettiness: Carries an ivory and lace sun parasol to prevent damage to her complexion. Also doubles as her preferred tool to make disobedient sterns glow bright cherry red to straighten out bad behavior.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: While she is a klutz, a prude, and nominally clueless to all the shenanigans around her, Mutter Nassau also insures surface decorum is upheld and discipline maintained among her girls with a will (and feared parasol) of literal Krupp steel. note
  • Team Mom: To the German girls. Her nickname is Mutter with a mixture of respect, love, and dread.
  • The Teetotaler: Obviously she's not a total abstainer sort of Teetotaler, but she does not approve of drunkenness and the health failings brought on by excessive alcohol!

     SMS Kaiserin
Third of the Kaiser-class Dreadnought battleships of World War I who is currently serving alongside the rest of the High Seas Fleet. Close friend of SMS Niobe, Ehren du Chasteler, and Mika Soctomah-de Breuil.
  • Age-Gap Romance: With her husband Wilhelm Malfoy-du Chasteler. She was commissioned in 1913 and came back during the early stages of the Abyssal War to meet both his parents as teenagers while he was born in 2031 during the late stages of the Abyssal War.
  • Amazonian Beauty: 6'3", brown haired, and with a massive bustline thanks to her heavy main battery of ten 30.5 cm cannons. This is even more obvious when rigged up since her shipgirl uniform is based on the armor of a medieval knight with a visible breast plate. Ironically, she appears 'normal-sized' next to her 'Willi' who is 7'2" tall and built like a brick wall himself (thanks to being the spirit of a two-handed sword).
  • Big Freaking Sword: Her weapon of choice in close is a six-foot long two-handed Zweihänder sword from the Fifteenth Century. Also the natural-born tsukumogami form of her husband Wilhelm Malfoy.
  • Females Are More Innocent: Hilariously and totally subverted with Kaiserin who is a regular at the Eternal U-Boat Party where she indulges in alcohol, card games, and serial one-night-stand sex during the Abyssal War.
  • Feminine Mother, Tomboyish Daughter: Her relationship with Nassau. While they are very close and love each other, Kaiserin chafes at Mutter's strictness and instead rebels by blowing off steam playing erotic strip poker at the Eternal Party. In her turn, Nassau worries about Kaiserin and wants her to find a good man to settle down with. Fortunately, Kaiserin does eventually settle down by getting interested in mountaineering as a retirement hobby and marrying Wilhelm, who is the son of two 'Old Money' aristocratic families in Draco Malfoy and Ehren du Chasteler, much to Mutter's delight.
  • Good Bad Girl: Very much not chaste, much to Mutter's private concern, but a fundamentally good person who eventually settles down with the man of her dreams (who accepts that she came to their adult relationship with plenty of 'experience').
  • Lady and Knight: Thanks to her interest in chivalry and Wilhelm's inclinations in that direction, their marriage contains massive aspects of this. She even unironically calls him her Knight in private while he refers to her as his 'Empress' (the literal translation of her name).
  • Most Common Superpower: Naturally, as they reflect her fuel tanks, torpedo bulges, and massive main battery. They are one of the primary focuses of the teenage Wilhelm's fantasies, although Kaiserin educates him that there's much more to women than just her impressive bustline.
  • Retired Badass: Her status after the Abyssal War when she musters out to serve as a babysitter, arms tutor, and eventually a housewife, mountaineer, and mother. As for the badass part, she has a extremely powerful Abyssal Princess to her hand to hand kill count tally as one of the heroes of the Abyssal War and is a World War I battleship.
  • Teacher/Student Romance: Weapons instructor in his case, but the trope applies. Once she discovers his interest in her and is green-lighted by his parents, she proceeds to 'tutor him' to be as skilled a lover to her as he is with his sword in his hands serving as her Knight Errant.
  • Wife Husbandry: How her relationship with Wilhelm Malfoy develops. As a close friend of the family, especially the two Malfoy wives from Germany, she volunteered fairly often for babysitting to help them out (in part to cope with a mid-life crisis after she retired from serving). This led into Kaiserin teaching Wilhelm how to use a two handed sword as his combat trainer for weapons and the knighly code. This caused her to start having a thing for her earnest and honorable young pupil's positive characteristics and character with her interest increasing when puberty hit him hard and he grew into the kind of man that she desired. However, when the now-teenaged Wilhelm was caught serially peeping on her as his major crush, she started teaching him 'other things' with his parents' permission to pursue a more healthy adult relationship with him to straighten him out.

     Vahlen
Repair ship for the German Navy
  • Herr Doktor: Is insistent on being called Herr Doktorin Vahlen. The fact that this makes no sense in German is... immaterial.
  • Expy: Given the name, profession and Funetik Aksent, likely one to Dr Valhen from the XCOM Series.
  • Funetik Aksent: Has a German accent in ehr engish that is thick enough to double as armor plate.
  • Mad Scientist: Has a rather unhealthy and disturbing obsession with electricity, 'improving' shipgirls... and the spirit of MKMS Viktor von Frankenstein

     Inga Koch/MKMS Prinz Heinrich
Natural born shipgirl of the magical P-Class cruiser MKMS Prinz Heinrich, Baba Yaga/Barbarossa's sister ship
  • Ethical Slut: While Inga has an incredible libido, she refuses to get ahead 'on her back'. The top grades she got at Beauxbatons were achieved through hard work and study rather than as a byproduct of her sleeping with students and faculty.
  • Good Bad Girl: Was an adult model and film star before electing to be Awakened to serve as a shipgirl. One of the main reasons for her choice was that it would return her physically to the age she was at the height of her movie-making career
  • Hooker with a Heart of Gold: While she enjoys sex — a lot — and made a living doing it on camera, Inga is a genuinely good person.

     MKMS Viktor Von Frankenstein
Incomplete O-class battlecruiser turned salvage ship
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Is named for the wizard whose edited life story told to Mary Shelley inspired the classic horror novel. Frequently has trouble distinguishing between herself, the literary character, and the real wizard.
  • Ditzy Genius: She's an expert in the field of reanimation (her speciality) along with many many other magical and scientific disciplines. And has not even Clue One about romance, much to Vahlen's frustration.
  • Mad Scientist: Has an extremely unhealthy and disturbing obsession with bringing her patchwork shipgirl/Abyssal hybrid creations to life as 'assistance' in the ongoing Abyssal War.
  • Oblivious to Love: Is as dense as a block of lead the size of her hull. Victor genuinely does not grok that Vahlen's repeated offers to 'help make our babies' means 'biological interaction' as opposed to using a rivet gun, welding torch, and electrical stimulus to animate her latest cobbled together experimental creation assembled from pieces of Abyssal corpses and shipgirl spare parts.

Marine Nationale

The French Navy.

     Jean Bart
See her entry at Weasley's Warship Workshop.

     Richelieu
The older sister of Jean Bart and the lead ship of the Richelieu-class battleships
  • Childish Older Sibling: Seen as such by Jean Bart when she starts giving advice on l'amour and what to do with Ron Weasley. And offers to give practical demonstrations to help her younger sister seduce him.
  • The Dreaded: To Victoria, who already views the French as licentious, decadent continental perverts because of her Victorian prejudices and a bad experience with Colombe in 1899. Victoria's private nickname for her is "That French Tart" as a scandal looking for a place to happen.
  • Ethical Slut: Is in a three way happy relationship with her fellow shipgirl Commandant Teste and Admiral Chirac. Also really wants the best for her little sister although her advice and efforts can drive Jean Bart up the walls.
  • Good Bad Girl: There is very little that Richelieu won't do for her loved ones, or to boost morale. Her 'modeling sessions' have generated an upswing when used on recruiting posters and advertisements for the Marine Nationale.
  • Hidden Depths: Underneath her Lovable Sex Maniac persona, she is a battleship with a distinguished service record. She is also extremely insightful and empathetic toward Jean Bart, just also uninhibited and French. Very very French.

Voyenno-Morskoy Flot (VMF)

The Russian Navy.

     MKMS Barbarossa/MSS Baba Yaga
A magical heavy cruiser based on the real-world canceled P-class cruisers, captured by the magical Soviets and Post-War commissioned into the magical side of the Soviet Navy. While she would've technically been under the Kriegsmarine, Baba Yaga served much of her time under the Soviet Navy and is currently under the Russian Navy.
  • Good Smoking, Evil Smoking: Blows through cigarettes like they're candy. Is used (along with drinking Vodka like it's water) to signal that she is extremely jaded and doesn't give a flying shit about you or your thoughts of her life choices.
  • Knight in Sour Armor: Having seen life under both a Conservative Dictatorship and a Liberal Dictatorsip, and serving just long enough to see the cracks that would lead to the end of the Soviet Union, Baba Yaga is exceptionally jaded, seeing no meaningful difference between National Socialism, Fascism, Socialism, Communism, or Magical Supremacy, save only which wealthy minority groups are targeted for genocide.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: Her relation to her normal escort ship and daughterbote Organizovanny AKA 'Comrade Cheerful One'.
Then a warm hand on his caused him to freeze and look back at the young girl sitting next to him while panic surged through his body. Organizovanny said in a very quiet loving voice full of steel as she looked into his eyes with a sweet although melancholy smile. "It hurts Baba Yaga to smile too much. So it's my job to smile for her, Yuri. She's not a bad person. Someone who gives headpats like her can't be a bad person!"
  • Mama Bear: Don't you dare harm Comrade Cheerful One, you will not last long after that.
Baba Yaga didn't notice the Ne's death while she computed her solution on the shore battery that had just hammered her beloved gorovoy. Then, ignoring her thin cruiser armor, she turned broadside to the battery and cut loose at her maximum rate of fire while screaming at the top of her lungs in Russian over every channel she could. "{PICK ON SOMEONE YOUR OWN SIZE, YOU FUCKING PALE CUNTS!! FIGHT ME!!!}"

The du Chasteler Family/The Butterknife Bastards

The children and grandchildren of the sword spirit Muramasa-no-Norimune
  • Animate Inanimate Object: As tsukumogami, they generate an avatar although their real bodies are inanimate objects. Colombe, Jacklyn, Delilah, and Ying all had their true body manifest when they were born, while Ehren and Claire are the classical tsukumogami spirits of their heavily enchanted and handled by people of significance (Adolf Hitler and Claude Debussy respectively) dagger and piano respectively. Mika's tomahawk manifested when she Awakened as a shipgirl as part of her rigging that is permanently linked to her.
  • Badass Family: All of them with one notable exception are quite deadly combatants.
  • Heroic Bastard: All Norimune's daughters (plus Wei Ying and Mika Soctomah) were born outside the bounds of wedlock. Although Norimune at one time contemplated marrying and settling down with Julie d'Aubigny and Jezabel de Breuil, events conspired to destroy that option. This is especially relevant in Colombe's case since she grew up knowing that she was the 'bastard half-sister' of her Papa's legitimate siblings. That powerfully shaped her psychology by instilling a desire to prove that her Papa was right to acknowledge her as his daughter.
  • Meaningful Name: There are quite a few as a Bilingual Bonus.
Colombe's name in French means 'dove' after the engraving on her hilt symbolizing her service to Hachiman (whose sacred animals are doves and pigeons) — this name is shared with her granddaughter Taube whose name is the same in German. Jackie's last name references her fox ears and tail. Delilah's first names reference her role as a ambiguious 'bad girl' Biblical secret agent (Delilah from the Book of Judges) and Naomi is actually from Japanese meaning 'straight and beautiful', although it is also a Biblical name (from the Book of Ruth).

All of Colombe's children have meaningful names, with Estelle meaning 'star' (symbolizing her ideals as her 'guiding star'), Ying meaning 'intelligent and clever' (along with being a shout-out to the ruling house of the Qin Dynasty), Claire meaning 'light' and a direct reference to her namesake piece of Claire de Lune (French for 'light of the Moon') as The Heart of her family, finally, Ehren's name is German for 'Honor' — which she lampshades on screen in a conversation with Kenshou.

Mika's given first name is Sioux for 'Clever Raccoon', which is foreshadowing of her heritage, with her middle name Ruth meaning 'compassionate friend' in Hebrew. Zamarad's name is 'emerald' in Arabic referencing both her brilliant green eyes and foreshadowing the role that a magical emerald important to the jinn plays in her romance arc — named A Courtship In Emerald no less!

    Columbe d'Aubigny du Chasteler
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/colombe_du_chasteler.jpg
NOT MY FAULT!
Oldest daughter of Muramasa-no-Norimune with Julie d' Aubigny in 1707, she is the spirit of her rapier body.
  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: The enchantments that allow Juuchi Yosamu to cut through literally anything were temporarily applied to her true self at one point.
  • Adoption Angst: A double whammy in her backstory. Colombe grew up as the semi-acknowledged bastard daughter of Marquis Jean-Francois du Chasteler, which resulted in family tensions with her stepmother (who was worried about the attention Colombe got supplanting the inheritance prospects of her children). While she got along well with her siblings and Papa, she was also aware that he could consign her to a life of being a servant or even kick her out of the house to make her way on the streets as a child prostitute with a word if she disappointed him.note  Then, on his deathbed, her Papa revealed to her that she was not actually his child, but the abandoned child of the (apparent) cad who had impregnated her mother and failed to return for her funeral....
  • Affectionate Nickname: Still calls Mei Yuying, a former lover and the mother of her eldest child, Dumb Egg, as a term of endearment, even though the two have grown apart and moved on with their lives. Yuying, in turn, calls her 'Silly Melon'. Also 'Co-chan' to her lover Masamune-no-Tokunotakai 'To-chan'.
  • Beauty Brainsand Brawn: The Big Guy of the three sisters. Colombe is the best fighter of the three hands-down and a good leader who generally defers to Delilah.
  • Berserk Button: Do not betray your own family and do not engage in the kind of racist atrocities that are blights upon one's history that your nation or people will never live down.
  • Catchphrase: Mostly by the fans, but a lot of incidents tend to result in her saying "Not My Fault!" either in story or in various posts as a reader response.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Hoo boy, she has an e-x-tremely bad case of this.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Largely due to her Chronic Hero Syndrome and Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right! attitude, life has not been kind to her.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: Let's just say that her Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right! tendencies have managed to make the magical world get the wrong idea about her.
  • Honor Before Reason: If she gives her word, she will keep it no matter the personal cost to her.
  • Iron Woobie: Despite all the terrible soul-scarring events that have happened to her and the resulting traumas, she will not stop doing what is right according to her beliefs and her code of honor. Lampshaded in a conversation with Lyra Potter in 1941 after another near-fatal act of suicidal heroism.note
  • Like Mother, Like Daughter: If you know anything at all about the real Julie d' Aubigny, you can tell the apple didn't fall far from the tree.
  • Luxurious Liquor: A brandy snob, who toasted Delilah's pregnancy by sharing a priceless bottle of 1748 Janneu Armagnac brandy with Lucius, Narcissa, Niobe, and Delilah. Much to Lucius' delight, he viewed savoring the last bottle of that blend as a religious experience.
  • Magic Knight: A capable wandless magician with a varied and powerful arsenal of spells from multiple magical traditions thanks to her experiences.
  • Master Swordsman: As a rapier spirit, she is a natural swordswoman and swashbuckler with centuries of practice and experience.
  • Noblesse Oblige: She was raised as a noblewoman and takes the explicit and implied responsibilities of the nobility very seriously.
  • Noodle Incident: Has been at the center of many, many over the last 300 years.
  • Older Than They Look: That apparent late 20s blonde with the rapier was born in 1707.
  • Opposites Attract: With Tokunotakai. She is a hot-headed, active, physical warrior noble family's bastard daughter.
  • The Paladin: Swore herself to the service of the Shinto warrior deity Hachiman in 1902. She is mainly used as a way for needed rocks to be turned over to get festering problems cleaned up.
  • Parental Abandonment: Her mother Julie d'Aubigny suffered from Death by Childbirth and her biological father Norimune was unaware of her existence because she was fighting in a war at the time. This had negative consequences on Colombe's psychology.
  • Parental Substitute: Adopted and raised by Jean-Francois du Chasteler in accordance with her mother's dying wish. In Colombe's eyes, Norimune may be her Father, but Jean-Francois is her Papa and the touchstone in her life.
    • One of the ironies of her situation is that her two daughters that she is closest to in Claire and Ehren are both 'adopted' in a very real sense with her familial relationship trying to live up to what she thought her Papa wished of her mirrored in several aspects of her relationship with Ehren.
  • Royal Rapier: Colombe is a noblewoman, and her true form is a rapier. It doesn't get much straighter than that.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: A lot of her Hero with Bad Publicity aspects and law breaking are due to the fact that she will not stand idly by if she sees an injustice.
  • Shared Family Quirks: Colombe spent the first two centuries of her life obsessively hunting down Norimune to duel her for abandoning the pregnant Julie d'Aubigny. One key step in their relationship mending was realizing that Norimune never knew that her mother was pregnant, was emotionally shattered by news of her mother's death, and Colombe had accidentally abandoned Mei Yuying who was pregnant with her own firstborn Wei Ying who tracked her down in turn. In addition Colombe inherited Norimune's enchantment that steers her into conflicts when she is due for bad luck.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: While she is good at hiding it, she is a veteran of many wars and atrocities and they have left their mark on her.
  • Trauma Conga Line: Dear Lord, this woman has had a difficult life.
    • Her father left her mother before either of them knew she was pregnant.
    • Her mother died giving birth to her and she was raised by a stepfather while knowing that she was illegitimate.
    • Her beloved younger half-sister was guillotined in front of her eyes during the French Revolution which led to her first arrest warrant for violating the Statute of Secrecy to save her grandnephew.
    • Her great-grandnephew, Hippolyte, turned into a Dark Lord and tried to kill her with betrayal. Twice. The second time involved stranding her in the worst colonial hellhole of the 19th Century and a walk out across equatorial Africa.
    • At one point she almost died fighting another Dark Lord in Africa, only being saved by receiving a contract from Hachiman.
    • She was unable to prevent the assassination of Franz Ferdinand in 1914, and as a result of the fallout volunteered for the Western Front of World War One. Including fighting in the Battle of Verdun ''twice''
    • Even after killing Hippolyte, he had set up a spell to possess a photograph of him, allowing him to continue to taunt her.
    • After her first meeting with Tokunotakai, she was told by Hachiman that she could not find her father just yet which sank her into a depressive spiral as her life's ambition was yanked away from her.
    • World War II had her meet a German officer named Helmar von und zu Wolff. Her attempts to get him to stop believing the Nazi ideology only resulted in her seeing a good man double down and become a monster in more than one sense of the word.
    • When her daughter manifested from Wolff's dagger, Colombe flipped out at her SS uniform that the innocent Ehren was wearing unknowingly and nearly killed Ehren upon first meeting. This put severe strains on their relationship.
  • "Well Done, Daughter!" Girl: She always acts in a way that she believes that her adopted father would approve of and wishes she could get his approval for what she's done after his death. She gets her wish when she meets both him and her biological mother at Kannazuki.
  • Wild Teen Party: Colombe got expelled from Beauxbatons in 1724 after a night of debauchery that included three casks of port wine, four veela 'entertainers', a sword and spell duel atop broomsticks flying through the building with her friend with benefits Gabriel Potter, and running the sleeping draught drugged Headmistress up the flagpole in her nightgown. Considering that she had been previously warned that one more incident would get her expelled...
  • Winds of Destiny, Change!: Like her father, she can burn banked luck to get the best positive results. However, her negative luck results in her running into crimes against humanity which trigger her Chronic Hero Syndrome.

     Jacklyn 'Jackie' Fox
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jackie_6.png
Where's the rum?
Middle daughter of Muramasa-no-Norimune, the spirit of her 1723 cutlass.
  • Badass Driver: Jackie is the best driver of the Butterknife Bastards and actually is very good friends with the owner/operator of one of the premiere combat driving schools in the world where diplomatic bodyguards are taught.
  • Beauty Brainsand Brawn: The Face of the Butterknife Bastards. Jackie is an expert and well connected pirate and smuggler.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Hard-Drinking Party Girl. Check. Ethical Slut. Check. Badass Driver. Check. Runs a server on the Dark Web that has scans of magical books. Check.
  • Cool Boat: She has three. Her sailing yacht SS Horizon Bringer that she sailed around the world in during the nineteenth century, SS Foxfish her modern second yacht purchased with bounty money post World War II, and the magical submarine SSM-3 (USS Foxfish) which she skippered in World War II for Magical America.
  • Did You Just Romance Cthulhu?: Got into a one night stand with Tropical Pirate Princess. Even though Jackie bailed when Tropical Pirate Princess started talking about wiping out humanity, she left Tropical Pirate Princess with a One-Night-Stand Pregnancy that resulted in Sores.
  • Hard-Drinking Party Girl: Usually seen with a flask of rotgut or rum, and apparently intoxicated. This is partly to make people underestimate her, though.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Has fox ears and a tail, although hides them under her clothing normally.
  • Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places: Has unsuccessfully hit on Delilah's mother, her older sister Colombe, and her nieces Estelle and Ying all without knowing their relation to her at the time. It is an in-universe Running Gag among her family now.
    • An unpublished snip set right before The Hunt for Norimune has her unknowingly making a pass at her father (who is in disguise). She's also semi-seriously flirted with the mother of her triplet granddaughters... and the granddaughters... during the scene where she agrees to help them track down their Disappeared Dad (actually her own unknown daughter Sores).
Delilah smirked and spoke with distinct relish in her voice. "That's a net gain for humanity. I met Sertorio Malafé V twice and he made my skin crawl both times. That whole family is rotten to the core and I'm just glad that I was assigned to Near Eastern Affairs rather than Latin American so I didn't have to deal with some of the sketchy shit we did down there. As for them tracking Barmejo down, I wish them luck with that, she's goddamn good. Good enough to almost punch my ticket in 1917 and then dodge me trying to take her out back then. Also I have it on good authority from Jackie that she hasn't aged a day since Jackie hit on her in 1815 for being a hot piece of ass and you know what that means."

Zamarad interjected with a smirk, "That she's family." Norimune doubled over and clutched her sides at the quip as the room broke up in laughter.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: That 20s stumbling alcoholic pirate Cloud Cuckoolander is the spirit of her cutlass and a decorated naval veteran privateer from the Revolutionary War, the American Civil War, World War I, and World War II.
  • Parental Abandonment: Like Colombe, Norimune was not aware that her mother Sally Gray was pregnant. Then her mother was hanged for piracy soon after her birth and she grew up in an orphanage. This has not had any obvious negative impacts on her psychology.
  • Phrase Catcher: Jackie's antics tend to get cries of "DAMMIT, JACKIE!" from her family.
  • Pirate Girl: Oh so very much.
  • Running Gag: Has a somewhat disturbing tendency to accidentally hit on her own relatives. To her credit, once she knows the blood relationship exists, she gets squicked out and stops.
  • Scoundrel Code: She very much falls on the romantic/rogue spectrum of piracy and has a code of ethics buried deep down.
  • Sword and Gun: In addition to her cutlass, she carries several pistols hidden on her person and is a decent mage.
  • Talk Like a Pirate: She does this to wind up her family members and as part of her apparent harmless act to make people underestimate her.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Caught a Death Eater about to Crucio Aomi the night after the Quidditch World Cup. She showed him her special magic trick - removing his wand, and the hand holding it, before he could cast aything.

     Delilah Naomi de Breuil
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/deliah.png
The only gun in the family.
Norimune's youngest daughter, the spirit of her 1847 Colt Walker revolver (the most powerful revolver until the 1950s).
  • Beauty Brainsand Brawn: The Smart Guy of the three sisters. Delilah is the one that the others look to for plans to get out of trouble or into trouble.
  • Cluster F-Bomb: Delilah was in an incandescent rage when she found out what TOTEM intended for her friend and first love Louise Winona. According to Mauvanet, even after three hours, Delilah had avoided repeating herself even once.
Delilah: "Motherfucking, scum-sucking, slave-owning bastard daughters of syphilitic whores and inbred goats...."
  • Code Name: Delilah de Breuil, MACUSA Colonel in the Corps of Aurors, MIB Special Agent Ocelot. Chief Agent of the Winters Network.
  • Cultured Badass: Thanks to her mentor in MACUSA being EmilyDickinson is an amateur poet and is quite well-read.
  • Drives Like Crazy: When she was notified about Mika's existence, a massively stressing Delilah drove from Florida to Virginia to meet her...while doing well over 130 MPH on the interstate.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Delilah grew up in a broken home with a mother who deeply regretted her breakup with Norimune, so Delilah was pushed to be a hero to make her absent father proud. Her first friend 'Uncle' David Potter died at Gettysburg. Her initial meeting with Zamarad resulted in the Ifrit being trapped in a ring by the Nazis. In order to liberate Zamarad to get an unconstrained answer to the question if Zamarad truly loved her back, Delilah had to take down a powerful Shayatan posessing a man she knew after fighting across Europe in World War II. Then, the way she got her parents to finally start resolving their breakup involved a near death experience on an unsanctioned operation in Kingsport that nearly killed Delilah (and Zamarad). After all that, though, Delilah's parents are finally talking again, she is Happily Married, and both she and Zamarad are pregnant with twins after returning from the Underworld to be with their true love. Also her efforts to fight for the soul and ideals of America will be vindicated and recognized.
  • Hand Cannon: Her true body is the most powerful black powder revolver ever produced and fires .44 caliber bullets.
  • Girls with Guns: Normally Delilah has her revolver body and one to two backup weapons plus her wand. On an actual mission in World War II behind enemy lines, she brought three pistols, a sniper rifle, a shotgun (all enchanted), three knives, two wands, a garrote, and grenades.
  • Gun Nut: Unsurprisingly, Delilah has a love of firearms, and quite a private arsenal in both her residences.
  • The Gunslinger: She's a 150 year old revolver spirit, this comes with the territory.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: In a rolling high-speed chase through Tokyo, she put all eight shots at the driver into a five inch diameter circle on the bulletproof windshield centered on his torso.
  • Magical Native American: Eleventh in her class at Ilvermorny, adopted Lakota Sioux, and a medicine woman of White Buffalo Woman.
  • Nerves of Steel: When Delilah lets her sociopathic side out to play, she can discuss dangerous plans without even flinching.
  • Only Sane Man: Frequently gripes about needing to buy a leash and muzzle for both her sisters.
  • Shout-Out: Is a handgun, MIB codename is Agent Ocelot... not exactly very subtle.
  • Stealth Expert: A trained spy and sniper.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: All the Muramasas have a dark side. With Delilah, letting her bloodlust loose turns her into a Sociopathic Hero who 'services targets' in the most brutally effective and precise way possible.
  • Vitriolic Best Buddies: With her niece Wei Ying. This dates all the way back to their school days in Ilvermorny during the 1860s.

     Estelle Maria Barmejo-Du Chasteler
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/estelle_2.jpg
The spirit of Jean-Francois du Chasteler's misericordia parrying dagger. Forged in 1697 and manifested in 1798, she is the oldest 'daughter' of Colombe du Chasteler.
  • Anti-Magic: Thanks to her special forging Estelle is able to ground out and nullify many spells directly cast on her including the Killing Curse. She is also a mobile 'blind spot' in detection and divination spells.
  • The Cartel: The Spanish branch of the Malfoy (Malafé) Family, who are led by Grindelwald's disciple Sieglinde are Estelle's nemesis with tentacles throughout Latin America.
  • Dance of Romance: With James and Sirius at their steakhouse date, when Estelle teaches James how to tango. Sirius and Estelle then send half the observers needing a cold shower as they burn the dance floor down with their passionate tango before leaving for her house.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She has had several key figures in her life 'leave her behind'.
    • She was gifted to Jean-Francois' daughter Colombe du Chasteler for a 15th birthday present, and served Colombe well and faithfully, only to watch helplessly as Colombe was knocked overboard by a pirate's spell in 1745, leaving her to be plundered. She still mourns her First Mistress.
    • Right before she manifested in 1798, the sea chest she was stored in was thrown overboard when her current owner Sinbad the sailor was in the process of being shipwrecked.
    • She met and was trained by Norimune and swore allegiance to her magical mercenary group, only to be betrayed by their employer and then have Norimune (apparently) die in front of her eyes when her ship sank at Trafalgar.
    • Ran into her (unknown to both) aunt Jacklyn Fox repeatedly and gets creeped out by Jackie trying to flirt with her. Which leads to bar fights.
    • Fell in love with Simón Bolívar as a leader and a man, only to watch his dream of a well governed and well-led South America end in infighting and corruption as The Liberator died in poverty.
    • Fell in love again with Isla de Padilla in 1890s Puerto Rico, only to lose her to an infected gunshot wound and malaria during the Spanish-American War. Uses Isla's family hacienda coffee planation as her home base.
    • Has regularly butted heads with her other aunt Delilah de Breuil when the MACUSA agent is sent to meddle in Latin American politics. They view each other as respected enemies who can someimes be worked with though. After each shot the other in 1920s Mexico.
  • Dashing Hispanic: She was forged by the smiths of Toledo, Spain, her avatar is Latina, she is a mistress of disguise, an athletic and precise combatant, quick thinking in a crisis, and is known as the mysterious revolutionary ''La Paloma''.
  • Fantastic Catholicism: Recieved a vision (and occasional missions) from St. Igantius of Loyola and operates as a magical troubleshooter for the Jesuits (primarily) in Latin America. Needless to say the upper echeclons of the Catholic Church have known about magic and the supernatural since 1814 when she signed up.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble: A Choleric hotheaded idealistic revolutionary who is driven to fight the good fight by the ghosts of her past failures and losses.
  • Immunity Disability: However, her ability to ground out magical spells make her a very weak mage despite being a highly enchanted weapon.
  • La Résistance: Has a network of sympathisers, "ears", and helpers across Latin America, and has worked with revolutionary movements to help tair down oppressive overlords. In particular, she was an ally and lover of Simón Bolívar and still carries a torch for him and his ideals.
  • Religious Bruiser: Very very Catholic. Even more deadly and skilled.
  • Spicy Latina: A Hot-Blooded Action Girl who is a fanatical crusader against corrupt authorities, and has a well buried sweet side? ¡Si!
  • Unreliable Narrator: Went to a steakhouse on a date with Lieutenant Hunter and Sirius, only to see someone she immediately thought was Jackie. Next snippet showed that it was actually Foxfish.
  • Xanatos Speed Chess: How she infiltrates and then escapes the Malafé compound.

     Wei Ying
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ying.jpg
Verified Canadian
Colombe du Chasteler's second oldest daughter, and the spirit of her Chinese dao sword.
  • Always Gets His Man: A senior member of the Royal Canadian Magical Mounted Police. Caught up to her father Colombe after a century-long manhunt.
  • Asian Fox Spirit: Her mother Mei Yuying is a huli jing Chinese fox spirit, and Ying has inherited some of her powers, specifically shapeshifting and illusion magic.
  • Canadian Equals Hockey Fan: A massive Edmonton Oiler fan after meeting Wayne Gretzky. Which is a point of argument with her mother Mei Yuying who roots for the Vancouver Canucks.
  • Disappeared Dad: Her father Colombe accidentally impregnated her mother just before getting her on a boat to North America. Ying grew up on tales of her father's heroism, and set out to track Colombe down to clear her father's name.
  • Evil Me Scares Me: Overlaps with My Greatest Failure for her. In World War Two, Ying was trapped behind Japanese lines in Hong Kong. Upon seeing the Japanese atrocities performed there on civilians and prisoners of war, she became the magical serial killer Lady Kitsune who preyed on the Japanese and Chinese collaborators responsible. This cut especially deep since she is sworn to the service of Guan Yu, the Chinese deity of Righteous Justice.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble: A Sanguine type B Tsundere (generally she is sweet and fun but has a hidden aggressive vicious side that can slip into Yandere tendencies when pushed the wrong way) who is good with relationships thanks to being the Big Sister/Eldest Aunt of her large extended family and her police command.
  • Ki Manipulation: Her preferred means of Magic Enhancement making her faster, stronger, and tougher than the norm.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: A master of the Mei Five Ancestors style of Martial Arts and tenth in her class at Ilvermorny.
  • Masterof Disguise: Her illusion skills and shapeshifting abilities make her a superb undercover cop.
  • Secret-Keeper: Her mother had to flee China with her father's help because the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom wanted her dead in 1855. Unknown to Colombe, this was because the Mei family are the hereditary guardians of the Writing Set of the Shi (Scholar/Gentry Caste)note . The Writing Set of the Shi is also one of the Five Treasures of China that bestow the Mandate of Heaven upon the next founder of an Imperial Dynasty. This becomes quite relevant when the Mandate of Heaven is required to be reestablished. Ying herself has her oath of service to Guan Yu inscribed on her blade with the Writing Set.
  • Vitriolic Best Buddies: With her aunt Delilah de Breuil. This dates all the way back to their school days in Ilvermorny during the 1860s.

     Claire du Chasteler
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/claire_face.jpeg
Butterpiano
Colombe's middle daughter and the spirit of her 1873 Bösendorfer grand piano.
  • All-Loving Hero: Claire consistently seeks out and tries to bring forth the good in those that she meets. This includes not just the heroic characters but Ehren (who had just manifested as a Nazi in full SS uniform at the time), Wolf-Mother, and even the Fenris Wolf. When she confronted Pansy Parkinson, who had nearly killed her beloved sister previously, Claire asks Pansy to back off meddling in Ehren and Draco's budding relationship more in sorrow than in anger.
  • Brown Note: This and a very disappointed glare seem to be the upper limit of what Claire can do if she has truly lost her temper, as some German Aurors sent to purge a werewolf reserve learned the hard way.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Unsurprisingly for a piano spirit, views everything through the lens of music. Best seen when she tries some of Lily Moon's elven waybread lembas treats at a party.note
  • Deadpan Snarker: Claire is surprisingly trollish in her understated way. For instance, playing the main theme from Jaws to herald the appearance of a coffee-deprived Ehren before breakfast. The sisters very frequently sass each other heavily as part of their close relationship.
  • Dichter and Denker: The musician variant of this German description (technically Austrian for her).
  • Duet Bonding: With her future husband Antonio "Tony" Stradavarius Potter. Their courtship is them playing pieces for each other as musical competition interspersed with duets.
  • Elegant Classical Musician: Oh so very much. Music is (literally) her life. She is also a fashonista in large part because she was built to also serve as a visual showpiece with ornate gilding and mahogany wood.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble: A shy Phlegmatic sweetheart who is empathetic and sensitive. She gently manages the people around her with a velvet glove to make them happier.
  • Friend to All Living Things: Claire is known to coax songbirds to perch on her case or even her finger when playing outdoors, and attracted the positive attention of Wolf-Mother when playing by herself as her family fought Verdun.
  • Gift of Song: Done by Claire and Tony as a surprise birthday gift for Victoria Passel (the spirit of Ron's country manor) in gratitude and friendship for so many enjoyable visits to the residence that she is the spirit of. Victoria breaks down in Tears of Joy when Claire publicly dedicates her newly composed Sonata for Violin and Piano In B Minor (Reflections Upon a Country Manor) for Victoria's 225th birthday as they debut it at the Proms, which are broadcast across the UK on the BBC.
  • Girls Like Musicians: Both ways with Tony Potter, who is as good a musician as she is and equally music-mad. Colombe lampshades this when she meets Harry Potter for the first time by asking him if he's a musician (he isn't) in an attempt to see if she can get one of her daughters engaged to him.
  • Happily Married: To Tony Potter. They have their own pet names of 'Peacock' and 'Bohemian', raise ten children, and have a large extended family tree of musical instrument tsukumogami and musicians. After their heroic death saving people, they are buried together with the inscription ''Departed on the Honeymoon'' while their funeral scupltures show them playing each other's true bodies (in an an act of deep love and trust among their kind) next to where they first met.
  • The Heart: Everyone in her extended family without exception loves and adores Claire. Even Kagotsuruhe. She is also extremely skilled as a listener, confidante, and keeper of her siblings' traumas and dark secrets.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With her younger sister Ehren. Claire deeply loves and cares for her Best Little Dagger Sister who physically protects her in turn.
  • Hidden Depths: She sometimes appears painfully shy and withdrawn in social settings — unless she is playing music or the conversation turns to music, at which point in time she blossoms. Also she is quite insightful and empathetic in her attempts to comfort and strengthen those around her.
    • Also she is by far more worldly than her innocent demeanor would suggest. She pledges her love to Tony during a duet performance of The Devil Went Down To Georgia singing as the Devil and has ten children with him. She's noted as being 'Aunt Lyra Potter's' favorite niece for this reason. Their children tend to tell them to 'just get a recording studio' frequently.
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Was able to completely No-Sell Kagotsurehe. To be fair, Kago was just visiting to troll the du Chastelers, only to get sucked into joining Claire in a duet...
  • The Ingenue: The Precious Cinnamon Roll of the du Chasteler family, and a wide-eyed innocent and happy soul.
  • Lonely Piano Piece: Frequently seen when her family members are fighting to protect her.
  • Love at First Note: With Tony both ways. Ironically, both are playing the same song, namely her namesake piece in Claude Debussy's ''Claire de Lune'' with the one listening unable to initially see the musician (Tony is in a poor seat in the concert hall and is unable to see the stage during Claire's piano solo, then later he is playing on the street outside of the cemetary that Claire is visiting to lay flowers at the grave of Claude Debussy).
  • Mood Motif: Expresses her emotions in her music and plays music as a soundtrack for her family's antics.
  • Music for Courage: Perhaps her greatest power. Thanks to her empathy, compassion, and incredible talent she is capable of healing and strengthening those around her. Most notably seen in the far future snippet where she and her husband save the lives of millions of werewolves on a doomed planet by giving a concert that pacified the whole planet to prevent panic stopping the evacuation while comforting and strengthening those who would die with her and Tony when the supernova happened.
  • My Friends... and Zoidberg: All of her extended family of Muramasa weapons spirits are top-tier mages and martial artists and incredibly lethal as a result. Claire is a pacifist, doesn't 'get' violence on some fundamental levels, and has yet to even throw a punch. It's been noted, however, that she's one of the greatest fighters in her family, just on a different battleground than any of the other Muramasas.
“I see,” Claire nodded, before ducking her head in embarrassment. “Though I’m actually a piano myself, so there isn’t very much I could do with it. I don’t like to fight like the rest of my family does anyway.”
  • Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: Hair the ebony and skin the elephant ivory of her keyboard. She is also the only non-blonde du Chasteler daughter.
  • Shipper on Deck: Toward Ehren and Draco. Despite being torn internally about how this will forever pull a part of Ehren's heart from her, she elects to make Ehren happy by covertly working toward their relationship and is instrumental in manipulating Ehren to reveal her true feelings to Draco by singing to him at the Yule Ball.note  Needless to say, when Tony appears in her life, Ehren promptly ships the two of them very hard by helping wear down Colombe's resistance to the match.
  • Silk Hiding Steel: Claire is so sweet, nice, and supportive to the point where people tend to forget that she is also the one Muramasa in Colombe's household and extended family who always gets what she really wants when the chips are down. When Claire actually shows a glimpse of the Muramasa-steel fist hidden inside the velvet glove upon receiving news of a mass murder of werewolves it comes as a jarring shock to realize how psychologically close she is to Ehren deep down under the sweetness and love.
Claire took the paper and began to read. As she did, her piano body standing in the corner shifted into a musical arrangement that was the quintessence of grief and sorrow while tears filled her eyes. Ehren embraced her distraught sister as Fr. Jacques rested a comforting hand on her shoulder.

Then in mid bar, the music changed to a different piece, full of determination and defiance.

Claire looked up at her mother with weeping sad eyes that were full of righteous fire and implacable Muramasa steel.

"I should have been there for them. And I shall be. Mother. Make the arrangements. Now."
  • Spoiled Sweet: She is absolutely doted on by everyone in the du Chasteler household and is a very nice girl. A good example of is during her first trip to play at Carnegie Hall, she takes over the piano at the hotel's bar, serenades the guests and Ehren late into the night, and then hands the maitre'd the overflowing tip jar at the end of the performance while thanking him for letting her 'make this piano a happy one'.
  • Talented, but Trained: While both Claire and Tony have incredible inborn natural gifts such as being able to sight read music, perfect pitch, and pick out notes by ear, along with insinctively knowing how to play their true bodies, both of them work extremely hard to maximize their talent — although for them, it is as much 'enjoyable fun' as 'hard work' pushing themselves to the utmost musically to romance their spouse with an impressive performance! It's noteworthy that by the end of their lives, both of them are as skilled a musicion while playing the other's true body (which they have no inborn knowledge of how to perform on) as they are playing themselves. It's also worth noting that Claire is a demanding perfectionist when it comes to tuning a piano to her specifications to play a planned public performance (friends, family, and random patrons in a the bar of a hotel where she's staying are 'for fun' so she just rolls with whatever's available if it's in tune).

     Ehren du Chasteler
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ehren.jpg
Alles in Ordnung!
The youngest du Chasteler daughter, the spirit of her 1937 SS-Ehrendolch dagger.
  • Ascended Extra: Was originally just a throwaway detail as the honor dagger Colombe's Nazi ex-boyfriend wedged in her guts during the climax of Operation BUTTERKNIFE and later a desk ornament during scenes in Moulbaix. Then after the readers started speculating in thread about what kind of a spirit might manifest, finally appeared for the first time in A Dove and her Poignard as an intended secondary character/foil for Colombe. Is now one of the major characters in the fic after tons of Character Development with several overarching major story arcs of her own that carry the primary narrative at points (for example, Ehren and Draco are the POV characters for the Goblet of Fire selecting the Triwizard Champions since Harry Potter was in Japan over Halloween, along with showing key elements of behind-the-scenes intrigue with the Death Eaters).
  • The Atoner: She feels intensely guilty for her past naive belief in Hitler before she found out the truth. Losing her father just turbocharged her motivation to make amends for her past.
  • Berserk Button: Genocide in any form. Seeing some German Aurors arrive on a werewolf reserve for the express purpose of wiping out the population made her so angry, it looped back around to a Tranquil Fury. This holds double for Nazi Germany.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She was created to serve Nazi Germany, and given to a fanatical SS officer who Colombe seduced on a mission. Colombe acquired Ehren when Ehren's dagger body was wedged in Colombe's guts when her parents fought over a cache of magical artifacts. Then Ehren manifested and Colombe misread her intentions toward Claire badly, nearly killing her. Then while recovering, she found out the truth of the Nazi ideology, resulting in Ehren using a grinder to try (and fail) to deface the SS heraldry on her hilt. Afterward she fought alongside her family through Verdun to protect Claire. Then her now-vampiric father elected to unilaterally change the child custody arrangements....
  • Duel of Seduction: Draco Malfoy and Ehren du Chasteler's relationship during courtship and then their marriage is made of this trope. Since Draco wishes to 'ride the tiger' by being a husband to a powerful, strong willed, independant, and deadly woman (like his mother Narcissa's relationship to his father), while Ehren's Muramasa magical nature demands that her beloved Master must continually prove his worth by controlling his and her darker urges to misuse her, the result is a centuries-long 'game' of subtle one-upsmanship, point-scoring, and mutual consensual seductions that results in well over a dozen biological children of theirs...
"You unspeakably clever underhanded little Prussian minx!" Draco declared joyfully as he stepped forward, grabbed Ehren by the shoulders, and kissed her very thoroughly and passionately. "You planned this setup all along for when I died, didn't you?!"

Her smugly triumphant smirk grew as she slipped into her most aristocratic Hochpreußisch German dialect to answer his accusation in a pedantic voice. "Eigentlich bin ich ein Amerikanisches Schwarzfußfrettchen Animagus, wie du weißt. (Actually, I'm an American black-footed ferret Animagus as you know.)"

"Du bist immer noch ein Luder, Ehren. (You're still a minx, Ehren.)" Draco declared in German with his own smirk. "Und du hast nicht auf meine Anschuldigung geantwortet, Häschen. (And you haven't answered my accusation, dear.)"

She promptly 'dropped the proverbial microphone' by Transfiguring her Celtic dress into her Seventh Year school uniform (complete with her Head Girl's badge) wandlessly and nonverbally before seductively posing for him with a challenging 'Do it to me! I know we both want to!' look in her sparkling eyes. (As for those accusations, I plead guilty as charged. You should be aware that I'm wearing my favorite pair of slutty naughty panties under my Hufflepuff school-girl's uniform for my 'discipline session', my beloved hero and husband. What is the Slytherin Prefect going to do when he catches the Hufflepuff Head Girl violating school uniform regulations... again?)"

Draco laughed joyfully as he realized that — once more! — Ehren had cleverly maneuvered him right to where she wanted him to be. Not that he'd have it any other way when it came to their romantic relationship, honestly. "Das ist meine unglaublich schlaue und hinterhältige Ehrendolchin! Komm hierher, damit Präfekt Malfoy von Slytherin dir die 'richtige preußische Erotikbestrafung' geben kann, die du verdienst, du ehrenhafte und treue kleine Hufflepuff-Schülerin. (That's my wonderfully cunning and sneaky Honor Dagger! Come here so Prefect Malfoy of Slytherin can give you the 'proper Prussian punishment' that you deserve, you honorable and faithful little Hufflepuff schoolgirl.)"
  • Devious Daggers: She's the manifested spirit of an SS Ehrendolch, or "honor dagger" and is a growing expert in espionage and subterfuge.
  • Disappeared Dad: SS Officer Helmar von und zu Wolff, her first Master. Who was a Nazi vampire killed by Ehren and Colombe. Ehren is very much a Daddy's Girl, and is seen decades later still mourning that she was unable to save him from his beliefs while accepting that she made the right choice between her parents.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Ehren eventually joins Draco's Fleet and gets happily married to him which helps her heal her massive traumas. She also finds out decades later that her love for her Vati saved her father's soul from Hell (Helmar is instead in Purgatory thanks to Ehren making him realize how his evil and misplaced loyalties were traumatizing her literally seconds before he died paired with a deathbed conversion). But boy oh boy the poor girl goes through Hell to get to that payoff!
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Her relationship to her Vati. Ehren absolutely hates, fears, and despises the Nazi ideology that Helmar embraced but Vati und Tochter genuinely loved each other. Some of the interactions between them in Africa are heartbreaking as a result, especially their first meeting and the times when he tells Ehren how proud he is of her. His stated motivation for the kidnapping was to raise his beloved child 'right' (as he saw it) to follow in his footsteps and he even delayed implementing his plans for domination to spend time with his daughter instead so he would be there for her when she woke up from the spell that had subdued her.
  • Everyone Can See It: Her relationship with Draco to her friends and Pansy. Ehren serially denies being head over heels for him, insisting that they are just good friends and cousins, that he can and has done better than (a Nazi like) her, and that she is only carrying out her oath to protect his love with his three shipgirls. This is mainly due to her low self-esteem and massive issues related to her past traumas. She even pro forma denies that Draco is her boyfriend when getting teased by her fellow Hufflepuff Firsties after getting engaged to marry Draco (admittedly to keep the engagement secret from Pansy while internally adding in 'Draco is not my boyfriend but my fiancee')!
  • Evil Me Scares Me: When she loses control on the part of her she calls Grendel she reverts to SS uniform on her avatar. She is well aware of her repressed darkest urges to become the perfect SS follower of her Vati and has nightmares about what she would do if Grendel ever broke loose to take control.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble: A Melancholic self-critical and hyper-organized ice queen who holds herself to impossibly high standards and is honorable, brave, and utterly loyal.
  • Germanic Depressives: While she does have a fun-loving and soft side deep down, it is hidden well by being buried under her professional persona except when she flips mentally to her her 'private time' relaxing with her friends and loved ones. As a result, she embodies this trope, especially when 'on the clock' in public as she strives to properly represent her House and her family.note
  • Germanic Efficiency: Highly disciplined and organized workaholic. Extremely unsurprising considering her (forced) maturity for her age and devotion to the Prussian virtues of reliability, honesty, self-discipline, and self-sacrifice.
  • Girls Love Chocolate & Must Have Caffeine: Ehren is a pretty major chocoholic and Kaffee fiend to the point of purchasing her own professional quality top-end espresso machine just to produce the Black Brew of Brain Activity. Lampshaded repeatedly by nearby observers describing the Prussian Zombie at breakfast before the coffee kicks in including making one of her tags on Shipgirls Online 'Kaffee Zombie'.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Ehren did not take Nazi Germany's crimes well at all and is seeking for a way to permanently deface the SS symbols on her hilt. Unfortunately, her mother's preservation spells on her before she woke up make it difficult.
  • Heel Realization: Shortly after she manifested, she decided to find out why Colombe hated and feared seeing her in SS uniform. So she looked up Nazi Germany on the Internet....
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: One of Ehren's fundamental character flaws. She genuinely believes that she is a much worse person than she actually is thanks to knowing full well the evils that she is potentially capable of without really seeing the good that she does in her actions and relationships. It's honestly shocking to her when Draco bluntly tells her that she acts as his inspiration and example of heroism that makes him a better person than he could ever be without her to serve as 'her Hero's' touchstone.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With her older sister Claire. Has even lampshaded it as 'they are twins from different fathers'. While Ehren protects Claire physically, Claire in turn supports Ehren's tortured psyche emotionally with her gentle compassion and forgiveness.
  • Honor Before Reason: Like her mother, she is utterly devoted to a code of personal nobility and honor based on pre World War One Prussia. This is even lampshaded in her interpretation of her blade inscription "Meine Ehre Heisst Treue" as 'My Honor is Faithfulness'. This is both one of her greatest strengths (she draws inspiration, motivation, and strength from her personal code of ethics) and greatest weaknesses (she's not really capable of breaking her sworn word without massive psychological trauma, which causes no end of issues when she swears not to pursue Draco for apparently valid at the time reasons).
  • Hufflepuff House: Was sorted into Hufflepuff as a First Year despite desperately wishing to be with Draco Malfoy in Slytherin. She promptly takes to their hard work, honesty, and fairness code of conduct like a fish to water and establishes a network of very close and supportive friends there who bolster her psychologically — which is why the Sorting Hat sent her to there versus stoking her dark side's ambitions in Slytherin.
  • Ice Queen: She is cool and standoffish to those who she does not know thanks to her trust issues. However, once someone manages the difficult task of getting her trust, she is a very sweet girl.
  • Icy Blue Eyes: Ehren's eyes are the steel blue-gray of her dagger body and she is frequently described as giving 'cold', 'icy', or 'frigid' stares with them, especially when stressed. Except around Draco when she melts for him.
  • Iron Woobie: She is a mess of self-loathing, pain, and guilt from her Dark and Troubled Past behind that cool controlled face. Yet despite knowing the costs and difficulty of her chosen course, Ehren will not be swayed from what she believes is right no matter how heavy the price that she pays.note
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Ehren toward Draco Malfoy when she realizes that her budding crush on him conflicts with her responsibilities to help Delilah and Colombe navigate the Statute of Secrecy's collapse. In addition Ehren swears not to interfere with Draco's relationships with the shipgirls who love him because she feels unworthy because of her Nazi past. note
  • Little Miss Badass: Her outwardly 12 year old avatar that she attends Hogwarts with. Cute as a button with blond pigtails and blue eyes. Also just as dangerous as her more normal 18 year old avatar while generally carrying a hidden dagger on her person.
  • Me's a Crowd: Has five out of a possible six avatars running around, via serially removing her hilt pin, then using Repair Fluid to regenerate it. One is in Moulbaix, another two in Hogwarts (one for classes, another for other studies with the Assistant Librarians), another in America with Delilah learning Native American magics with her aunts (and music for Stahlhexe), another thending to the Prussian estate's responsibilities that she inherited from Helmar Wolff, and then there's her actual dagger body, which remains with Draco as a last line of defense for him. One hilt pin is, in fact, dedicated to doing nothing but being sent around among her other avatars to act as a thumbdrive carrying the software patch for her memories to keep everyone more or less current by melding memories with them.
  • Moral Myopia: One of Ehren's major character flaws, especially after her realization of the kind of monster that she was crafted to become results in crushing guilt and shame and a belief that she does not deserve happiness or joy because of her Original Sin. note  Fortunately for Ehren, her friends and loved ones, especially Draco, Claire, and Fr. Jacques are managing to drag her back from the worst of her self-blaming and self destructing tendencies. note
  • Morality Pet: Claire in Ehren's eyes. Ehren dearly loves her Big Piano Sister. Lampshaded during Ehren's Darkest Hour when she thinks of Claire being kidnapped by her Vati in her place and decides it is better that she suffer rather than Claire.
  • My Greatest Second Chance: Key elements of Ehren's romantic relationship with Draco are tinged with this. Thanks to his blond aristocratic good looks and heroic qualities, she unconsciously equates him with the SS hero that she was crafted to loyally serve — and failed — in her father. Draco eventually realizes this element of her attraction to him, but keeps quiet so as to protect Ehren's fragile sense of self-worth while privately resolving to become the hero that she desperately desires to serve. note
  • Must Have Caffeine: Before Ehren can adjust her blood-to-caffeine ratio properly, she starts her day in a state that has been dubbed the Prussian Kaffee Zombie.
  • Past Experience Nightmare: Ehren has nightmares about getting dragged back into the zombie infested spirit of Verdun. Those ones are easier to bear than her other nightmares where she is a proud member of the SS serving as an officer in one of the extermination camps. She hides this very well behind her cool demeanor save to Claire, Niobe, and Draco, who have seen under the mask.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: Has severe PTSD from assisting in taking on the reawakening Verdun, to help seal it. To wit, the sound of thunder causes Ehren to assume a Troubled Fetal Position. Especially if it's dark.
  • Undying Loyalty: One of her distinguishing traits forged into her soul, best exemplified by her reaction to the news of Verdun awakening and threatening Western Europe. "Where you lead, I follow, Mutti." note
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Toward Draco Malfoy and his Fleet (even before she accepted her feelings toward them). Best shown during the Battle in the Center of the Mind she and Draco had with the demonic lust spell that Kamilla Kozma tried to use to snare Draco. note
  • What You Are in the Dark: During her kidnapping by her Vati, Ehren is seen alone, exhausted physically and mentally by her Vati's indoctrination to make her a good SS member, believing Kasuyu is dead so no one knows where she is in an Unplottable valley in the African jungle, and having to tap into her Nazi heritage to fool Vati. She resolves to fight his influence on her as best she can despite it being (as she sees it) hopeless because her honor and duty demands it of her and she would know if she gave in.
  • When She Smiles: Ehren when she meets the unicorns after arriving at Hogwarts.note

     Kasuyu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kasuyu.jpg
Verified Axe-man
Colombe's companion and servant for over a century.
  • Battle Butler: Acts as Colombe's chief butler and majordomo. Also the designated guardian of her home of Castle Moulbaix.
  • Gentle Giant: Six foot six inches, three hundred twenty pounds of muscle. Massive soft spot for the children and the Mistress.
  • Magic Knight: Just like his Mistress, he fights with his true body in one fist and spells cast wandlessly with the other hand.
  • Pre-Asskicking One-Liner: In a deep voice no less! note
  • Really 700 Years Old: The oldest by far of the du Chastelers, he was forged from a lump of meteoric iron during the 1400s in the Congo Basin.
  • Scary Black Man: To the family's enemies, and when Colombe first met him in the early 1900s. Finally seen in combat against Popobawa vampires and very scary indeed. Later broke a Grendel's spine in a contest of strength.
  • Undying Loyalty: Enchanted to be totally loyal to the one who gained the right of tribal rulership in ritual combat in a place of power deep in the jungles. He was quite happy when Colombe defeated his cannibal shaman master in 1902.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: Kasuyu is from an equatorial culture where the norm is little in the way of clothing. Colombe's efforts have only been able to persuade him to ditch the bark loincloths for kilts and duck-printed pajama pants.

     Father Jacques
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/father_jacques_current.jpg
Only normal guy in Castle Moulbaix
The du Chasteler family priest assigned tot he now-reopened family private chapel. Formerly a US Navy Catholic Chaplain assigned to Boston to tend to the shipgirls there until the 'minor fact' that he was a decade over mandatory retirement age finally caught up to him.
  • Actual Pacifist: He fights his battles with prayer, compassion, and understanding to heal the spiritual wounds and traumas of the more 'active warriors' such as Colombe and Ehren.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Most definitely so, notably when he introduced Miho and Misaki Fujii, a pair of jorogumo spider Yokai, to the Spider-Man movies (because of the movies' strong positive message about responsibility, the priest is sneaky like that).
  • Good Shepherd: Very much so. He views the ministry as a calling and a divine charge, therefore he plans to tend to his flock until he is reassigned to the Faith Triumphant at his funeral. He also immensely enjoys crossing intellectual swords with Tokunotakai (a Shinto priestess) as they debate ethics, theology, philosophy, and morality.
  • Home Sweet Home: Born in the small town of Ath (part of Colombe's feudal domain several miles from her castle), explored the local enchanted haunted woods (the location of said castle) as a young boy to impress a girl, joins the Church, teaches and lectures in seminary to train new priests, and serves shipgirls, sailors, and Marines as a chaplain... and then Colombe meets him celebrating a daily Mass in the church in Ath where he and she were baptized as he covers for his grandnephew who was ministering to a sick parishoner. Both Fr. Jacques and Colombe strongly suspect that it was no accident that an available priest who had experience with the supernatural was present to help her with a major crisis of faith as she stepped inside a Catholic church for the first time since 1944.
  • Preacher Man: Tending to the small community at Moulbaix, plus helps in the vllage of Moulbaix and his home town of Ath. He wouldn't have it any other way that to be on the front lines fighting to save and heal souls.
  • Secret-Keeper: Thanks to being a military chaplain working with shipgirls, he has had extensive prior experiences with the Magical World. This has served him well since the day a lost sheep walked through the door of the church that she had been baptized in over three centuries ago in need of spiritual healing for her and her daughter.
  • Seen It All: It takes a lot to visibly shake him but it has been done. Notably, finding out that Colombe furnished his room at Moulbaix with a pair of (unknown to her at the time) Rembrandt prints from her Papa's collection of Old Masters and then meeting the Sword of St. Catherine who thanked him for the sermon have done it on screen. Also hearing the confession of Joyeuse (A First-Class Relic who was forged from one of the Nails of the Cross) caused him to think on the miracle of God's love for fallible mortals.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Father Emil Kline, a Jesuit roommate of his from seminary. The two have been best friends while pranking each other for well over half a century. Much to Ehren's bemusement when she got roped into one of their capers as the getaway driver with Fr. Kline's 'borrowed' canon law library in the back of the car (a retaliation for Fr. Kline arranging an unwanted promotion for Fr. Jacques). The Bishop, an old student of Fr. Jacques was in on it all along and laughing as he watched the antics unfold.

     Zamarad aibnatu Alnaar
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zamarad.jpg
Literally hot!
An Ifrit noble daughter who Delilah and Colombe rescued in 1942. Delilah's True Love
  • Cultured Badass: Frequently discusses Islamic philosophy with Sabah and poetry with Delilah. Quite capable of burning several city blocks to bedrock with her inborn powers or twisting destines into self-fulfilling prophecies.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: She was trapped by the Nazis in a magical ring in 1942, and only freed in 1946 when Delilah managed to transfer the imprisonment spell to a Shayatin she was fighting. She has had to work hard to heal some of the scars on Delilah's psyche caused by her Sociopathic Hero tendencies and support her love. Then when Delilah went on a Suicide Mission to buy time when Kingsport was menaced by a large Abyssal fleet, Zamarad absorbed a large quantity of Fiendfyre and then plunged into salt water (which is normally lethal to jinn) to come to Delilah's aid in a Roaring Rampage of Revenge that nearly killed her too. Finally she had to choose to forsake for now her reward of a place in Elysium to return to be with Delilah. But after all that, Zamarad is happily married, Delilah's psychological scars are healing, and they have just become pregnant with their firstborn daughters (who will be two sets of identical twins) in a better USA thanks to their efforts.
  • Elemental Shapeshifter: A spirit of 'smokeless fire' and able to turn into a tornado of flame at will. Which may very well be her true form.
    • When she absorbed the Fiendfyre in Kingsport, she shifted into a skyscraper-sized dragon made of fire.
  • Fiery Redhead: Red hair and has the temper and fire powers to match.
  • Genie in a Bottle: Trapped in an enchanted ring by the Nazis to lead them to the Tomb of Morgan le Fay. Later liberated by Delilah after the war.
  • Hot-Blooded: Fiery, passionate, and warlike in defense of those whom she loves. She even has an elevated body temperature and her voice is described as sounding like various forms of fire with her mood.
  • Literal Genie: As she demonstrates to the Nazis who enslaved her, another name for her kind of spirit is 'Shayatin' for those who turned from God's Law. She uses Exact Words to warn Delilah and Colombe about their ambush, leading to the defeat of the mage who enslaved her.
  • Our Genies Are Different: A classic Islamic jinn daughter of an Ifrit father and a Djinni mother. She also has inhumanly sharp pointed teeth in her human avatar.
  • Playing with Fire: As a flame spirit, she can set things on fire with a dirty look and a whispered command. Which Drachenzamer found out to his dismay when he lost her ring. She also can control any flames within sight of her.
  • Pyromaniac: As one might expect, she enjoys setting things on fire. She 'eats' by burning substances (wood chips and sweetgrass tufts are like feeding her candy), and is often seen at family parties with an alcohol flame in her glass that she 'drinks'.
  • Secret-Keeper: Her family is charged with protecting several places of power, artifacts, and Shayatin seals in North Africa and the Sahara Desert. In addition, she is secretly married to Delilah and knows the Revolver's secrets.
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: She has emerald green eyes (her name literally means 'Emerald' in Arabic) from her Djinn mother and the fiery red hair of her Ifrit father. When she transforms to fire, there are two green flames visible in the red-orange fire that make her up.

    Sores Fox
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sores.jpg
DAMMIT JACKIE!
The daughter of Jacklyn Fox and Tropical Pirate Princess. Follows in the footsteps of both of her parents.
  • Bring My Brown Pants: When Sores got a good look at Mika and Rhodie, seeing all that firepower that they carried caused her to involuntarily empty her bilge pumps.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Is both a Muramasa and an Abyssal, hence this trope is in full effect. Also she has a set of bone-handled throwing knives made of Abyssalized Muramasa steel which are her true body, like Mika's tomahawk.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With "Fox", the shipgirl of her father's World War Two submarine SSM-3 USS Foxfish.
  • Guile Hero: Her modus operandi, like her father. She's a charming rogue with a ready wit and always playing the angles on the deals that she makes while working toward her goals of revenge for her mother and a comfortable life for her and Fox.
    • In specific, she is acting as a secret agent for her 'aunt' Porta to help set up other Petty Princesses to be destroyed.
  • Like Father, Like Son: Just like Norimune and Jackie, had a fling that resulted in a One-Night-Stand Pregnancy. In this case, it resulted in triplets, two airshipgirls and one airship Abyssal.
  • Little Bit Beastly: She looks like an Abyssalized Asian Fox Spirit with extremely pale skin, glowing red eyes, fox ears and a fox tail. The spirit of SSM-3 (Foxfish) also has fox ears and a tail althougha human skin tone. Both can and do hide this with illusions.
  • Pirate Girl: Just like her parents, although she's closer to the reality of a pirate's life than the romanticized version that Jackie lives.
  • Revenge: While we don't know what actually happened to Tropical Pirate Princess, it seems Abyssals took her from Sores. Therefore, Sores is determined to pirate them down to their drawers.
  • Submarine Pirates: She's a So-class Abyssal submarine and a pirate, so this is straight as an arrow.
  • Wound That Will Not Heal: Fox's head damage from being depth-charged while saving Sores at their first meeting. In this case it is a lack of repair fluid or a dockyard available to repair her, resulting in amnesia about her Skipper.
    • After Saint Kitts, Fox is healed and they know that Jackie's still alive and is Sores' father.

     Mika Ruth Soctomah -de Breuil
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/south_dakota_al.png
She actually wears more than this.
The time-tossed daughter of Delilah de Breuil and Louise Winona. Also the Natural-born USMS Lakotah built by MACUSA secretly during World War II.
  • Autobots, Rock Out!: As a massive fan of hard rock and heavy metal, Mika invariably starts playing some rock (and frequently singing along and headbanging) aboard her bridge when she gets into a fight. Examples are Metallica's Enter Sandman when she Awakens, AC/DC's War Machine at Saint Kitts, and Sabaton's The Lion from the North (covered by her cousin Ehren's band Stahlhexe) when assaulting Dios-Diosan Princess' base during UNDERTOW.
  • Badass Native: Full-blooded Oglala Lakota (Sioux) by heritage. Raised on the Passamaquoddy Point Indian reservation in Maine. Named for the hypothetical state that the Lakota would have gotten under MACUSA. Magical battleship who soloed an Elite Re-class Flagship and won a one on twelve fight when she Awakened. Her spiritual body is a Muramasa tomahawk. It doesn't get any straighter than this.
  • Big Damn Heroes: How her Awakening happened. She was working as a deckhand on a fishing trawler when some of the Abyssals fleeing Kingsport came for them. And ran into a very angry late-war Magical American Battleship
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble: This describes her Fletcher shipgirl friends in KANDESDIV 45 of KANDESRON 23 — The Little Beavers. Charles Ausburne is the Sanguine squadron commander tactical genius always looking for a scrap, Claxton is a Choleric hot-headed brawler, Aulick is a Melancholic soft-spoken ambush predator, and Dyson is a Phlegmatic cowgirl sharpshooter.
  • Good Counterpart: Lakotah was meant to be this when MACUSA caught wind of Japan's plans to build a super-Yamato in Onogoroshima.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: Whether it's with a basketball or with naval artillery, Mika takes after her father in this regard. This is in part because of the magical improvements to her already top-tier fire control plus Delilah gave her an instinctive understanding of ballistics.
  • Made of Iron: Due to special potions applied to the steel used to build her, Mika is especially durable. And the wizards who built her made sure enemies couldn't Attack Its Weak Point by targeting Lakotah's bridge by virtue of making it a steel box that used similar charms to the ones on Great Hall in Hogwarts, rather than a traditional bridge design. This saved her life during Saint Kitts, when five AP rounds point-blank from an elite Re-Class Flagship only managed to buckle the armor, which knocked out her bridge crew and caused Mika's Muramasa nature to take full control.
  • Madness Mantra: When she's in the depths of her bloodlusted berserk state, Mika continually screams Crazy Horse's warcry at the battle of Little Big Horn.note
  • Magical Native American: She's full-blooded Oglala Lakota Sioux with faint traces of her American-Japanese father in Delilah. As a shipgirl who carried wizards, she has significant magical skill, albeit currently untrained.
  • More Dakka: Lakotah was created by MACUSA by taking a Montana class and adding even more firepower. Including eight 18-inch rifles firing shells weighing nearly two tons.
  • Parental Abandonment: Louise gave her birth in 1996 but because she had been partially primed as a Manchurian Agent for TOTEM was unable to contact Delilah without betraying her friend and lover. Then TOTEM tracked down and re-abducted Louise before sending her back to 1892 as The Mole in a failed gambit to crack the Winters Network.
  • Parental Substitute: Donald and Wendy Soctomah of the Passamaquoddy Indian tribe who sheltered Louise and then adopted Mika after Louise was kidnapped again. Plus the tribal medicine man, Old Joseph.
  • Stand Your Ground: After Awakening, she protected the trawler by turning broadside on to a dozen Abyssals to tank the shells that would have killed her shipmates by physically shielding the trawler with her hull.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: Her Muramasa heritage and bloodlust. Normally she has it under control and just likes to fight and compete. When it fully manifested, she butchered her way unstoppably through an Elite Re-Class Flagships and her Battleship Division in hand to hand while terrifying the (few) surviving Abyssal witnesses who outran her and Rhodie's rampage.
  • Super-Toughness: As should be expected from a battleship Mika is very very durable. Her foot and a half thick armor belt was magically enhanced and treated to be even tougher and more durable than US Navy Class A armor plate. Thanks to using the spells used on the ceiling of the Great Hall of Hogwarts rather than windows, her bridge is a heavily armored box within her superstructure. Also, her Damage Control faeries include highly trained specialist wizards.
  • Timey-Wimey Ball: This and Divine Intervention are why Mika is a shipgirl instead of a tsukumogami. Louise being kidnapped forward in time 100 years while Mika was still in the womb, plus intervention from White Buffalo Woman, prevented Mika from being a weapon spirit when she was born.

    Aomi Sato
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aomi.jpg
First Mate Fluffytail
An Inugami. Currently Jackie's First Mate and Love Interest.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Lost her parents and sister, as well as their fish processing plant, during the Great Tōhoku Quake. After burying them, instead of trying to rebuild the family business, she set out to Tokyo in the hopes of becoming an idol. Things didn't come close to working out the way she wanted: Instead of a singer or dancer, her talent scout from the Dojin-Kai yakuza wanted fresh meat for his masters, causing the yakuza who owned her contract to put her in the Kōsuiyama Soapland.
  • The Dog Bites Back: When the oni bouncer Daigekido, who is also in charge of disciplining the slaves at Kōsuiyama, tried to attack Jackie, Aomi fought back by throwing the soapy water she was using for her job in his face, followed by the bucket that the water was in.
  • Naked Apron: Greeted Jackie with this while cooking breakfast one morning while they waited for the Quidditch World Cup. Let's just say Jackie didn't mind at all.
  • Rescue Romance: Was saved from the above life when she got Captain Jacklyn Fox as her customer. Aomi was saved from her circumstances and is currently Jackie's First Mate and Love Interest.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: Let's just say Aomi has absolutely no problems with showing off her body.

Island of Aeaea

A Hidden Elf Village of a Phantom Island, used as a reserve for the Cyclops and Minotaurs by the Magical Greek Ministry of Magic. In the months leading up to the arrival of the Abyssals, the Cyclopi of the island started having visions of the oncoming war, and warned the Greek Ministry... Who promptly ignored them. During Blood Week a cruise liner was attacked by Abyssals and ran aground on the island, and the locals took in the survivors, where they have lived ever sense.

    Christopher
One of the survivors from the ship, was eight years old during Blood Week.
  • Promotion to Parent: With the deaths of their parents during the attack, Christopher became responsible for taking care of his little sister.

    Delphi
A female cyclops only a year older than Christopher.
  • A-Cup Angst: Much like Lina Inverse, she's not the straightest example physically... But when your romantic rival is a Minotauress it's hard to not feel inadequate unless you have Petite Pride.
  • Bust-Contrast Duo: With Chloe.
  • The Cassandra: Not to her her friends and family, but the Magical Greek Government.
  • Seers: Was one of the several residents of the island that had visions of Blood Week approaching.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: At the age of fourteen, Chris only comes up to her stomach, though he is in the middle of his last growth spurt.

    Chloe
A Minotauress resident of the island. Just as interested in Chris as Delphi.
  • Big-Breast Pride: Is stacked, and loving it.
  • Bust-Contrast Duo: With Delphi.
  • Impossibly-Low Neckline: Just like the Minoans of old, Minotauresses wear dresses that leave the bust totally exposed.
  • Our Minotaurs Are Different: A Minotauress. As such she comes with the usual package of cow head, hooves, tail, and a human-shaped body, with the feminine curves you would expect.
  • The Tease: Knows exactly what her figure does to Chris - even after about a decade living among them - and loves every minute of it.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: Like Delphi, Chloe's race means that she is a lot bigger than Chris.

    Grandmother
A Cyclops Crone, well-respected by the islanders. Rendered blind with her age, she has been gifted with a prophetic scent of smell by the Fates.
  • Blind Seer: Whether she had the gift of prophacy or not beforehand we do not know, but when she lost her sight she gained the gift of prophacy via scent.
  • Seers: A unique version of the trope, where she "sees" by different scents and interpretations thereof. For example, she foresaw the Abyssals when she "smelled rotting corpses and burning oil everywhere [she] went," and the coming cruise ship and the survivors by the smell of "burning wool on the sea breeze."

    Galatea
A Re-Class Abyssal of Middle World Ocean's fleet by the name of Rebuke, she was a bit of a White Sheep and was left for dead during Blood Week, and would have been finished off by the islanders had Grandmother and her gift of foresight not spared her.
  • Expy: Rounding out the cast of Mane Six Expies, we have Galatea as the stand-in for Rarity, with all the love of FASHION!, fabulousity, and romance as the original, even having taken up clothing design and creation, with a wanderlust for the outside world.
  • The Fashionista: After being given the chance for a life without war, she gravitated toward clothing, and by know knows all of the tricks of the trade the islanders know, and is now lusting for more.
  • Meaningful Name: Either by Fluke, or cruelty brought on by a vision, Middle World Ocean named her Rebuke. And she caught nothing but that for all the time she was with the fleet.
  • Meaningful Rename: After being left for dead by the fleet and adopted by Grandmother, Rebuke was re-christened Galatea, after the mythical statue brought to life at the prayer of its creator, for it was so beautiful he fell in love with it.
  • White Sheep: What the rest of the fleet wanted only death and destruction, and their progenitor was obsessed with the Bronze Age origins of their race, Galatea - or rather, Rebuke - was more drawn to the natural beauty around her, and it lead to her downfall... And adoption by the Islanders.

Triwizard Tournament Participants

The invited participants in the Triwizard Tournament from Durmstrang and Beauxbatons
     Viktor Krum
Star Bulgarian Quidditch World Cup Team Seeker, and Champion of Durmstrang in the Triwizard Tournament.
  • Didn't Think This Through: His partial shark transformation that he used for the Second Task might have allowed Krum to breathe underwater while giving him a powerful jaw to bite any threats, but he couldn't vocalize spells and had to fight his newfound shark instincts while also dealing with having eyes on the side of his head. End result: If not for Harry lending Krum his diving knife, he would have had to attempt a nonverbal cutting curse to free "Hermione", while praying that he would only cut the rope binding her.
     Elspeth Crnokozic
Croatian witch from Durmstrang and senior student
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Has Rusalka ancestors and also has a Rusalka aunt leading the local Fae Court that she is blood bound to.
     Kamilla Kozma
A senior Durmstrang student from Hungary. Also a budding Death Eater and rival for Draco Malfoy's attentions.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Even more so for Draco Malfoy, who at least harbors some positive feelings toward Pansy Parkinson.
  • Deal with the Devil: Uses her skills and family's interest in demonology to cut a deal with a devil to try to win Draco Malfoy.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Toward Pansy Parkinson, returned in full by her rival in Slytherin.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Her attempt to ensnare Draco Malfoy by using her demonic pact to cause him to go obsessive with lust for her, while also mentally tormenting Pansy Parkinson unto madness boomerangs badly. Her spell on Draco accidentally hit Ehren du Chasteler (whose dagger body was hidden under Draco's pillow that night), resulting in the succubus she summoned defecting, Draco and Ehren using Lakota magics to compromise her mental defenses while revealing her as a Death Eater, and Pansy Parkinson nailing her with an exceptionally nasty necromantic curse that put her in the Medical Wing.
     Fleur Delacour
Part-Veela witch and Beauxbatons Champion
  • Related in the Adaptation: Is descended from a bastard of Raoul du Chastelier, thus making her kin to both Ehren, and Draco Malfoy.
