Anna
Anna is the main protagonist of Ghost Tales. She originally went to the town in hopes of learning about what happened to her grandfather.
- All-Loving Heroine: She cares about the ghosts in town. Whenever any of them are in danger, she'll do whatever she can to help them, even if they tell her to get lost.
- Boyish Short Hair: Her hair is cut above her ears.
- Only One Name: Her surname is never revealed.
- Redhead In Green: Her default outfit is lime-green, complete with green shoes and a green headband.
- Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: While green eyes seem to be pretty common, she's the only character (other than her mother) who is this.
- Virtual Paper Doll: Later updates give you the option of giving her a different outfit. However, you have to pay diamonds in order to get them.
Grandpa
Anna's grandfather who went missing years ago. He's the first ghost she encounters in the town.
- Cool Chair: His sprite always shows him in a large chair.
- No Name Given: Anna never reveals what his real name is.
- What Happened to the Mouse?: His fate is never revealed, to Anna or the audience.
- Wizard Beard: It's never stated if he's a wizard or not.
Mario
Mario is a plumber who lives next to Anna's grandfather.
Jane
Jane is a young seamstress and Ricardo's girlfriend.
- Pink Means Feminine: She wears a pink dress with an apron over it.
- Sickeningly Sweethearts: With Ricardo.
- Textile Work Is Feminine: She specializes in sewing.
Ricardo
Ricardo is a gardener and Jane's boyfriend.
- Call to Agriculture: He has a personal garden that he attends.
- Overalls and Gingham: He tends to wear a lot of overalls. Sometimes, he wears a straw hat with other clothing.
- Walking Shirtless Scene: He rarely wears a shirt under his overalls.
Andrew
Andrew is the town's mailman.
- Ambiguously Brown: He has the darkest skin tone out of the town's population.
Alex
Alex is a police officer in the ghost town.
- Gender-Blender Name: Subverted. Alex is a name used for both boys (Alexander, Alexie, etc.) and girls {Alexandra, Alexandria, etc.).
- Police Are Useless: Subverted. She does help out in some of the quests. However, she tends to be forgotten unless a quest requires her assistance.
Mrs. Langley
Mrs. Langley is an old woman who lives alone.
- Hidden Depths: She loves police movies and is able to use this to help her get some criminals arrested.
- Mama Bear: She's very protective of her nephew.
- Spy Speak: She subtly tells Alex and Anna that there are criminals hiding in her house.
Kyle
Kyle is a young delinquent and Mrs. Langley's nephew.
- The Aloner: He's chosen solitude rather than the company of other people.
- Dark Is Not Evil: He wears dark clothing and he used to cause trouble for the city. However, he's changed his ways since then.
- Delinquents: He was one.
- Easily Forgiven: Just about everyone forgives him for what he had done.
- Hated by All: He's certain that no one in the city wants his help because he stole from the citizens.
- My Greatest Failure: He feels bad that he used to be a professional lock-picker.
Vince
Vince is a fencer who lives deep in the city.
- Big Brother Instinct: When his brothers are hurt or in danger, he's more than willing to come to their rescue.
- My Greatest Failure: Letting his differences drive away his brothers.
- Sibling Rivalry: He didn't get along with his two brothers.
Old Man Ben
Old Man Ben is an old ghost that Anna encounters after defeating the large ghost.
- What It Says On The Tin: He openly states that he's an old man who's named Ben.
