Himiko Kudo
Voiced by: Natsuko Kuwatani (Japanese), Deanna Shoemaker (English), Marycel González (Latin American Spanish)
A transporter by trade, often works with Akabane and kinda-sorta-maybe-not wants to kill Ban for killing her older brother. Nicknamed "Lady Poison", she fights with her "Seven Poison Perfumes", a form of witchcraft tied to scent. She used to work with her older brother Yamato - and later Ban - as thieves, until Ban killed her brother.
She is a Voodoo Child, otherwise known as an aborted fetus of a witch who was brought back to life by the Shamans. Naturally, this comes with a curse: once she becomes a certain age, a mirrored clone will appear. If one dies, so does the other.
- Action Girl: Matures into a Lady of War as the story goes on, particularly after the Kiryuudo arc.
- Ambiguously Brown

- The Artifact: The anime writers appeared to have a lot of trouble with Himiko, as only two of her arcs were animated, and the manga didn't really get into her personal arc until after the anime wrapped up production. This is especially apparent in the final arc, as all the main characters obviously have to be present for the conclusion, but Himiko has absolutely no connection to any of the previously-established plot points. She basically goes on this last adventure just for the hell of it.
- Clothing Damage: By far the character most prone to this. You can almost make a drinking game out of how often her clothes get ripped off.
- Evil Twin: Her "curse" creates a sociopathic copy that kills the target of the intended curse.
- Living Macguffin: She's a special Voodoo Child used to open a doorway to Babylon City.
- Master Poisoner: This is her power, as well as the source of her nickname, "Lady Poison".
- Shower Scene: Changes to a Furo Scene due to the former being a dream.
- Training from Hell: Manga-only. Overseen by Akabane, though he doesn't teach her anything.
- Tomato in the Mirror: She is a living curse and Ban's sister.
- Tsundere: Even as she gets over the idea that Ban killed her brother, she still doesn't mind beating him up if she can. In the last manga chapter, even after knowing that he's her REAL brother, she still doesn't mind the thought of having a bout with him due to their opposing professions.
Kuroudo Akabane
Voiced by: Nobuo Tobita (Japanese), Shannon McCormick (English), Luis Carreño (Latin American Spanish)
Another transporter who likes to kill things. Very much. Has a weird fascination with Ban and Ginji, which they do not appreciate, especially Ginji. Fights with various scalpels and blood-made weapons. Nicknamed "Doctor Jackal". Knows things that no one else does.
A former resident of Babylon City, he actually used to be a doctor in an unspecified war. Until, of course, he failed to save the son of his friend (who later tries to get revenge), and decided he was better off killing people instead.
- Affably Evil: Oh so much.
- Anti-Hero: Type V
- Blood Knight: Quality of fights matter more to this doctor than money. He'll do ANYTHING to get a good fight—including smuggling plutonium to a teenager who's building nukes (and is all too willing to use them).
- Bloody Murder: Most of his attacks ranging from swords to clones to pretty much anything he wants.
- Casting a Shadow: He also controls the power of shadows
- Consummate Professional: Depending on the situation, the client concerned, and the opponent(s) he's up against, this is either played straight or subverted.
- Dissonant Serenity: In the manga, his MO. Not surprising, once you know how he got his powers.
- Ditto Fighter: To a limited extent. In later manga chapters, he often uses his powers to create his own versions of attacks that his enemies use against him. This is particularly evident in his fights with Kagami and Masaki.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Has never killed women or children. When MakubeX uses Mind Control on a bunch of kids against him, he merely puts them to sleep (Himiko was pleasantly surprised). He also puts himself in harm's way to protect Hevn. When you really think about it, his victims are almost exclusively those who don't know what they're getting themselves into by taking him on.
- Giggling Villain: Though he's not really a "villain", per se.
- Karma Houdini: Manga only since he's the one who sold out Himiko to Kagami
- Kick The Son Of A Bitch: He does this to Kagami who had murdered Himiko to fuel his ambitions by killing him.
- Lovable Traitor
- Manipulative Bastard: More prominently in the manga.
- Morally Ambiguous Doctorate: Though he was very dedicated to saving lives back when he was a practising surgeon, the death of his best friend Semimaru Kanade's son despite his best attempts to save him apparently lead the Doctor to decide that he'd rather take up his current job.
- New Powers as the Plot Demands: His powers is manipulating scalpels in his body right? No, he has the power to manipulate his blood into anything! Wrong, he can raise himself from the dead because he can't imagine himself being dead! >Buzz< Wrong! He can manipulate shadows to do what he wants and also he can negate anything that he doesn't believe in Wrong again!!! Villain Sue!!- His powers make a bit more sense in the manga as he's one of the very few characters who transcends both the real and Infinite Fortress dimensions. As such, he weaponises the knowledge that one can do anything in the Infinity Fortress dimension as long as he has enough imagination.
- No-Sell: To anything that he doesn't believe is real
- Offscreen Teleportation: The scene plays right out of a Warner Brothers cartoon. Seriously.
- Pet the Dog: He has his moments. Puts the "Heroic" in Heroic Sociopath.
- Prophet Eyes: Manga only. Combined with his other traits, it's very frightening.
- Psycho for Hire: Not as creepy as Fudou though
- Slasher Smile: In the anime. In the manga he tends to smile "normally"... and freak people out all the same.

- Tall, Dark, and Handsome: He's this when he's not trying to kill you.

What Do You Mean, It's Not Symbolic?: Manga only. During his rescue of Paul, him raising his "Bloody Sword" to create a path to safety out of nothing. - Your Mind Makes It Real: Manga only. Part of his power is being able to negate enemy powers by simply stating that he can't imagine those powers being true. In addition, he has seemingly come back from the dead simply because he can't imagine himself being dead.
- Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Akabane was previously a doctor who cursed God after he failed to save the life from a child which allowed him to become a trascendental being.
Hevn
Voiced by: Rio Natsuki (Japanese), Ellie McBride (English), Rebeca Aponte (Latin American Spanish)
Fanservice personified, but that doesn't stop her. Hevn is an intermediary who hooks freelancers like the Get Backers up with jobs. Incredibly dangerous jobs. She also works behind the scenes doing research for them, and is genuinely fond of Ban and Ginji.
- Affectionate Nickname: Constantly refers to the GB duo as 'Ban-kun' and 'Gin-chan'.
- Cool Big Sis: She can be very cool
- Cat Fight: Only verbally, with Himiko
- The Load: Not her fault, and she does try to help if she can. But being a non-combatant still means that people in her group had to look after her whenever there are fights.
- Ms. Fanservice: What she wears in the manga could be described more as 'covering' rather than 'clothing'.
- Mission Control
- No Name Given: "Hevn" is probably a code name of some kind, but who knows?
Paul Wang
Voiced by: Yasunori Matsumoto (Japanese), Corey Gagne (English), Luis Miguel Pérez (Latin American Spanish)
Owner of the Honky Tonk where Ban and Ginji are running up the tab of a lifetime. After them, he suffers the most when they can't pay their bills. Another one of those characters who knows things.
He was a member of the first generation of Get Backers; Ban's father was his partner. His special skill is super speed. Has the stigma in his left eye, and wears his literally Opaque Lenses to hide it.
He unintentionally gave Ban's father the name for his child—as a baby Ban punched Paul in the face, who called him a barbarian (yaban in Japanese). For some reason, his father thought this would make a good name.
- Blind Without 'Em: Inverted. Paul's sunglasses actually cut off his sight entirely, enabling him to focus on honing his "sixth sense," as a way to compensate for his old age.
- Blow You Away: His nickname before he retired was the Gale Emperor. In fact, he's so badass that he can create a vacuum that slices people to pieces just by walking past them at an insanely high speed.
- Fragile Speedster: In comparison to the OTHER monstrously powerful characters. Paul is lightning fast, but he can't fight for long due to decreased stamina as well as not being able to take a hit from someone on his level.
- Let's Get Dangerous!: And HOW; for the most of the series the reader is fooled into thinking he's just a bystander and independent investigator with a knowledge of the underworld. NO ONE expected him to not only be a First Generation Get Backer, but also one of the biggest badasses in the series.
- Lightning Bruiser: In comparison to most other fighters in the series. By just walking past them, he's able to rip enemies to shreds.
- Names to Run Away from Really Fast: "Gale Emperor"
- Opaque Lenses: Wears a spiffy pair of circular sunglasses that completely blind him. And he doesn't NEED to see either.
- Razor Wind: He can control air currents with ease and his signature move is just to walk past people, slicing them to bits with the back draft.
- Retired Badass: Was a terror in his youth, but nowadays he's content to run his cafe. It wasn't until the final arc that he decided to step into the ring.
- Story-Breaker Power: Let's face it, Paul could have wiped the floor with any threat prior to the final arc if he felt like it.
- Team Dad: He's even Ban's godfather.
- Weak, but Skilled: Due to his age he's not as durable as he used to be and his stamina has taken a dive. However, he makes up for it in his vast experience and a finely honed sixth sense.
- We Used to Be Friends: With Ban's father, Der Kaiser. They eventually reconcile in the final arc after having a massive punch up.
Natsumi Mizuki
Voiced by: Otoha (Japanese), Kelly Dealyn (English), Mercedes Prato (Latin American Spanish)
The cute waitress at the Honky Tonk. Well, the first one, anyway. She meets the Get Backers when she hires them to do a job for her (what the job is varies between media, see below).
- A Day in the Limelight: Her manga-only backstory arc aside, Natsumi gets an entire episode in the anime where she takes on a job in place of Ban and Ginji while they're on "vacation".
- The Cutie: You just want to pinch her cheeks.
- Genki Girl
- Flat Character: Personality-wise, there isn't much to say about her, except that she's happy and likes G&B.
- Hidden Depths: Subverted. The Birth flashback arc shows her hiring Ban and Ginji to get her dog back, and reveals her sad, sad past involving a dead mom and dead scientist father... but she's still just as clueless and genki and the same lovable Natsumi-chan.
- Mad Scientist's Beautiful Daughter: Her dad is a scientist that created a hyper-intelligent dog, but he certainly wasn't mad.
- Neutral Female
- Parental Abandonment: In the anime, her mom is in the hospital and her dad isn't really mentioned. In the manga, both of her parents are dead and she lives with her dog, Lucky.
Madoka Otowa
Voiced by: Yuki Matsuoka (Japanese), Kelsey Kling (English), Melanie Henríquez (Latin American Spanish)
The cute, blind, virtuoso violinist Shido falls for (or was it the other way around?). The driving force behind one minor arc, one side story, and one major storyline. She's not afraid to go after a yakuza boss to steal back her violin. Her seeing-eye dog is a corgi named Mozart.
- Blind Musician: She is a very famous violinist who's also blind.
- Damsel in Distress: Well, she is blind, so we can't necessarily blame her.
- Fanservice: While Kabuto is possessing Madoka, she's completely naked. No matter what, she is naked. Even when he has a yukata and obi on her arms, he's just too lazy to fasten it and give the poor girl some modesty.
- Friend to All Living Things: There's a scene in the Eternal Bond arc where Shido realizes that Madoka has picked up the ability to understand animals. One of the things he hates about humans is that they don't take the time to listen to animals.
- Genius Cripple: Despite her blindness, she can play the violin beautifully and distinguish her Stradivarious from others just by hearing its sound.
- Groin Attack: On Hishiki, no less!
- Grand Theft Me: Kabuto wants Madoka's body. No, this is not supposed to invoke Naruto.
- Hime Cut: Her hair style, to emphasis her "sheltered princess" status.
- The Ojou: Has one scarily HUGE Big Fancy House.
- Parental Abandonment: There's a token reference to her father being ill at some point. At first, it seems that she's being cared for by her butler, but he turned out to be evil. So now her 21-year-old boyfriend is shacking up with her.
- Pet's Homage Name: She's a musician who named her seeing-eye dog Mozart.
- Plucky Girl
- Reflectionless Useless Eyes: Her irises are entirely black.
Clayman
Voiced by: Megumi Ogata (Japanese), Catherine Catmull (English), Lileana Chacón (Latin American Spanish)
A part-time artist, part-time art thief, dedicated to the preserving the integrity of masterpieces. Her mother was a medium that channeled dead artists and gave them her hand to paint their final, greatest works, meaning the art also has a sentimental value to Clayman.
- Gentleman Thief: Despite being a girl.
- Master of Disguise: Hence the nickname "Clayman." She sculpts perfect clay masks.
- No Name Given
- Samus Is a Girl: In the original Japanese, she uses fairly masculine speech and is played by a seiyuu known for being one of the only women to often play adult men. She's also very tall and stocky (rare in Japan). Naturally, Ban & Ginji are shocked when she takes off her mask.
- The English dub subtly alters this. The director & writer noted that, even if Japanese viewers were stumped, trying to pull off the same trick on English-speakers would strain Willing Suspension of Disbelief. So they just had Ban & Ginji fail to notice her gender because of her codename, and because they're idiots.
- Willing Channeler: Her mother was one, allowing for Van Gogh to take her body and finish his Sunflower painting series centuries after his suicide.
Gouzou Maguruma
Voiced by: Tadahisa Saizen (Japanese), Sam Ray (English)
Along with Akabane and Himiko, Maguruma makes up the GB world's "dream team" of transporters. Unlike his cohorts, he actually has a car. Several, in fact: he's seen legitimately driving a taxi on several occasions. Gets along with Ban and Ginji, Himiko, Akabane and Hishiki. Nicknamed "Mister No-Brake".- Badass Driver: He's earned his nickname.
- Punch-Clock Villain: Maguruma is a true professional who only goes against the protagonists because of his contract. Outside his job, he is pretty friendly.
Maria Noches
A witch who studied under Ban's grandmother and ended up partially raising him. Only appears in the manga, beginning with the "Divine Design" arc.
- Cloud Cuckoo Lander: She addicted to the shrieking of mandragora and finds pickled ones to be cute.
- Cuteness Proximity: To Ginji's tare form. Also to Ban who she tries to give a smooch to when they reunite.
- Lady of War
- Loves the Sound of Screaming
- Mentors: To Ban.
- Ms. Fanservice: She shows off a lot of skin.
- Names to Run Away from Really Fast: "Death Goddess"
- Nightmare Fetishist
- Older Than They Look: She's 99, but uses magic to look much younger. Ginji thinks she's a hottie, but Ban can either see through the illusion or has seen through it in the past, and we do get a brief glimpse of a wrinkled, graying, skeletal Maria when he explains this.
- Parental Substitute: To Ban, raising him in place of his parents.
- Stripperiffic: She wears fishnet tops a LOT.
