"Barkeep"

Xtreme Series

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barkeep_0.png
"My name does not matter, but just know that I have a deal for you. Are you interested in learning more?"

"Dear girl, don't you know. I'm always watching."

"Barkeep", labeled The Watchful “Big Brother”, was a staff member during Total Xtreme Island, before going on to become the main producer of the Xtreme series throughout both Total Xtreme Action and Total Xtreme Refresh.

The main antagonist of the Xtreme series overall, and the one responsible for a large series of events across the series, including manipulating footage to suit his liking, creating the dangerous challenges the contestants have to go through, and causing the arrests of both of the original hosts, Colton and Tyson.

Early on the series, "Barkeep"(real name never revealed) seemed to be nothing more than a simple bartender for Loser Isle, being established as a man with minimal tolerance for those who make him angry and as the type who snarks at just about everything somebody says if it even remotely annoys him in any way. Later on however, he was also revealed to be the one who created the very obstacles the cast had been dealing with since the beginning of the competition, and was also the primary editor for the episodes. The fact that he apparently sells the organs of those he finds unconscious certainly doesn't deter just how suspicious of a person he truly is.

Starting off as little more than a minor character with some slightly antagonistic traits, Barkeep ultimately became the main antagonist of the series upon having both Colton and Tyson arrested, having planned out a master scheme in order to get them taken away while making plenty of money off of using his newfound fame. Using his new fortune, he has become the new producer for the Xtreme series, using it as a way to continuous keep money pouring in. While he may have encountered a select few hurdles along the way, he has largely remained completely untouched despite his many horrible actions. Due to this power of his, all of those working under him are powerless to go against him, since they are well aware of just how easily he could ruin their lives.

Tropes that apply to "Barkeep" in the Xtreme Series include:

  • Above Good and Evil: Barkeep outright rejects any kind of idea that good or evil truly exist, making it clear that he largely sees it as a spectrum that constantly differs and changes. As such, he finds the idea of calling him either as being annoying.
  • Arc Villain: Was the final antagonist of Total Xtreme Island, crafting a plot to get his bosses arrested while constantly mocking the cast during the challenge with his pre-recorded messages.
  • Ascended Extra: Began initially as just the bartender of Loser Isle who only had a handful of lines. Went on to become the main antagonist of the entire series.
  • Ax-Crazy: As shown when he made a deal with Starrk during Total Xtreme Action, Barkeep sees no issue in the cast being abused or even killed just so the players he finds annoying or a thorn in his rating can be eliminated.
  • The Bartender: Served as the bartender and chef of Loser Isle.
  • Because I'm Good At It: A big reason why Barkeep commits so many illegal acts is because he knows it's the one thing that he is consistently successful at, which only causes him to encourage his own behavior.
  • Big Bad: The main antagonist of the Xtreme series as a whole.
  • Big Brother Is Employing You: Barkeep both keeps an eye on and actively keeps employed the very people he watches on a daily basis.
  • Big Brother Is Watching: Barkeep has set up cameras all over both the island and film lot, actively watching every contestant's every move, and uses the information he learns from it to his own advantage when the time comes for it.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Seems like a rude, but still rather harmless bartender at first...Turns out he's a sociopath who is smarter than the entire cast put together, and uses this in order to do and get whatever he wants.
  • Blackmail: Due to keeping an eye on everyone competing and his fellow staff, he usually finds a lot of dirt on them, and sometimes, he likes to hold the info he's collected over their heads to get whatever he wishes.
  • Breakout Villain: Out of every villain in Total Xtreme Island, Barkeep is undoubtedly the most popular one overall.
  • Buy Them Off: The sad truth about how he always seems to get away with everything he does is due to the fact that he is capable of bribing the authorities into not arresting him for his crimes.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Seems to almost be proud of just how awful of a person he is.
  • The Chessmaster: Single handedly put into effect a plan that got his bosses arrested while making him seem like the victim, even convincing his co-workers into aiding his plans through well-chosen words.
  • Child Hater: A major reason why he takes pleasure in seeing the contestants suffer is due to all of them being of reasonably young age, and he admits to absolutely despising children and teenagers. He seems to take particular joy in seeing the youngest contestant(Hazel) getting hurt.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: Upon becoming the producer for Xtreme, Barkeep’s sole goal is to squeeze as much money as he possibly can out of the series, doing whatever he needs to(no matter how illegal) in order to make even more on top of that.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Despite having gone into Total Xtreme Action with the plan to work with Kyah to help her win(which they had been planning for at least two and a half years), he was immediately able to recover from her betraying him with minimal effort, getting her out of the competition and manipulating the situation to effectively ruin her already sorry reputation while actually making more money by simply making the challenges more dangerous.
  • Creepily Long Arms: He has four extremely long and ghostly arms that look as if they’re about to strangle you if you get too close to him.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Largely just in Total Xtreme Island, but Barkeep will respond to just about ever comment he finds ridiculous with a lot of snark.
  • Deal with the Devil: He’s the one whose offering them of course, and to say the least, he isn’t exactly the most trustworthy person. Throughout the series, he offered two of them(to Kyah and Starrk) to the contestants, where he would rig the game into their favor as long as they did whatever he wanted and didn’t get caught. Neither ended up making merge.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": A purposefully invoked trope, as nobody truly knows Barkeep’s real name, thus leading to all of them just calling by what they used to when he was just a bartender.
  • Evil All Along: Seems suspicious and certainly not like a very good person at first, but it ultimately is revealed he’s possibly the most evil force in the cast and has been manipulating everything into his favor from behind the scenes since day one.
  • Evil Gloating: Happily mocks Colton as he gets hauled off to prison due to his plan working without a single hitch in the plan.
  • Evil Plan: Setup one in order to get his bosses arrested in order to gradually grow in terms of power, just so he could become the producer of the Xtreme series and use it to make as much money as he can. It went off without any issues.
  • Friendless Background: Word of God has confirmed that Barkeep has never had a friend in his life, but it’s not like he actually cares much at all about that.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Went from a minor character with a snarky personality to a manipulative, sociopathic sadist who gleefully creates challenges to torture the contestants and rigs the game in order to benefit himself.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Sure, he may have only initially committed his actions in order to get his bosses arrested, but he did it entirely in order to actually help him gain more power so he can earn as much money as he possibly can in order to keep Xtreme going and make even more money.
  • Greed: Everything he does is in the pursuit of growing his fortune.
  • Hated by All: Even before his true motives and villainous personality were revealed, Barkeep was widely and largely disliked by every member of the Total Xtreme Island staff. His reputation only got worse upon becoming the producer for the show, since now everyone both dislikes him, and is terrified of him.
  • Hates Everyone Equally: Hate the guy all you want, but at least he doesn’t hold any real bias. He hates everyone, even those he’s worked with.
  • Hate Sink: Everything about him was purposefully designed to make him as unlikable as humanly possible, featuring absolutely no redeeming qualities.
  • The Hedonist: Everything in his life is based around his personal pleasure and success, caring little for much else.
  • Hidden Agenda Villain: A lot of his reasoning behind his heinous actions are kept a secret from everyone else, most likely due to a mix of both hating them all, and caring little for explaining himself. Due to this, his agenda is largely hidden from their knowledge.
  • Improbably High I.Q.: Word of God has confirmed that he has an IQ of 203.
  • Insufferable Genius: Due to his rather large intelligence, he has a tendency to demean and outright insult those around him due to seeing them as idiots, and will often correct their more idiotic statements. This obviously has led to the cast finding him unbelievably annoying.
  • Irrational Hatred: He has no real reason to hate everyone around him, but nonetheless, he still does despise everyone to an absurdly large degree.
  • It's All About Me: The only things that are important to him is himself, and how much money he has at that current moment. Due to this, he often will purposefully put himself above everything else, and will directly hurt others if it gives him some kind of gain.
  • Jerkass: Absolutely repulsive to be around and an all around terrible person in every definition of the word.
    • Jerkass Has a Point: While he may be an awful person, he actually did have a point in getting Colton and Tyson arrested, as they technically were breaking a lot of laws and were getting basically no initial comeuppance for it.
  • Karma Houdini: He never gets any sort of karma for his horrible actions against the contestants and staff of the Xtreme series. If anything, he’s only profited off of it.
  • Kick the Dog: Despite promising not to do so, he leaked the footage of Colton masturbating to the internet in order to set his initial plan into motion.
    • Kick The Son Of A Bitch: However, up to that point, Colton had been an unrepentant Jerkass to all of the contestants and had been breaking multiple laws, so in a face this could be a serious case of just getting some karma for his actions.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Every scene with him in it is taken dead seriously, with no jokes being uttered by him or those around him due to his rather intimidating presence.
  • Lack of Empathy: Holds absolutely no pity for the contestants even after they were horribly beaten down by Ronoc’s experiments.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Barkeep effectively became this during the Total Xtreme Island finale, ultimately using his brilliant mind to manipulate the police into arresting his hosts.
  • Manipulative Editing: Due to acting as the editor of Total Xtreme Island, Barkeep will purposefully take out any footage involving himself in order to not be shown in a bad light, and will manipulate the footage in a way that causes those who have been associated with him in the past to look worse than the other contestants.
  • Mean Boss: Treats Zetsu, Doc, and all of his interns with no respect and will fire them on the spot if he hears that they were insulting him.
  • Moral Sociopathy: Despite all of the things above, Barkeep does have a basic sense of right and wrong, even if it is a little twisted in a way that makes it to where he never truly feels bad if he does something he deems as not morally right.
  • No Name Given: We never do learn his real name.
  • No Sympathy: Doesn’t matter what’s happened to you in your life, Barkeep doesn’t care and he will feel nothing towards you except how he feels towards everyone; hatred.
  • Notso Harmless Villain: Due to his role being largely behind the scenes, you’d be forgiven for thinking Barkeep was harmless in public. You would still be wrong though, since he easily swatted away ‘‘Tempest’’ like a fly.
  • Not So Stoic: While he can usually keep his cool, betray him or cause him to lose money in any way, and you’ll have to face a much angrier and much more dangerous version of him.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Barkeep seemingly was just the editor of the show who would stand up to Colton, but nonetheless did what he was told. It was ultimately revealed he was just playing Colton along in order to learn his triggers and weaknesses. Word of God has also confirmed that Barkeep would purposefully act dumber around Colton and to a lesser extent Tyson in order to give off a harmless vibe.
  • The Omniscient: Barkeep seems to know just about everything, which he wholeheartedly uses to mock those around him on a daily basis, and when he isn’t doing that, he uses it to make himself richer.
  • Only in It for the Money: Just about everything he does operates on the logic that it’ll help him become richer.
  • Opportunistic Bastard: Even when his plans don’t work out, he quickly forms a new plan around it and still ends up gaining something out of it.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Has bright red eyes that apparently “stare right through you”.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: He’s able to avoid facing consequences for his actions usually by using his immense fortune to bribe those who could potentially put him away.
  • The Scrooge: Possibly the greediest character in the series despite not being a contestant, with an incredibly large amount of money to back him up. Yet he rarely seems to spend much of it.
  • Sinister Surveillance: He set up cameras absolutely everywhere throughout Total Xtreme Island'sand Total Xtreme Action's locations, to a point of where there was absolutely no chance of privacy.
  • Slasher Smile: Sports one of these whenever he ends up coming out on top from one of his plans.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Despite being the main antagonist of the series, Barkeep actually doesn’t appear too much. To put this into perspective, if character importance to the story was solely decided on total screentime, Barkeep would be one of the most minor characters in the entire series.
  • The Smart Guy: Among the staff of Loser Isle staff, he was easily the smartest and most tech savvy, which he ended up using to manipulate the others into his grand plan.
  • The Social Darwinist: He simply believes that in the end, only the strong will truly survive and thrive, and as such, feels no pity for those whose lives are ruined because of him, since that simply proves in his mind that they were weak themselves.
  • The Sociopath: Word of God has confirmed him as being a sociopath in canon. Notably, he has shown off each of the traits associated with sociopathy at some point.
  • The Stoic: He usually tries his hardest to hide his emotions in order for those around him to not pick up on his own weaknesses.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Among the staff throughout the entire series, Barkeep is the only who who is truly ‘evil’ in any way.
  • The Unapologetic: He feels no guilt for his actions and he usually makes that quite clear to everyone around him, so don’t expect him to apologize for anything he’s done.
  • The Unfettered: His sole goal in life is to become one of the richest men on earth, and he will do anything in order to obtain this goal.
  • Visionary Villain: Everything he does is in the pursuit of gaining a massive fortune.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Upon Starrk getting caught attempting to get Sage medically evacuated from the competition, Barkeep no longer rigs the game into his favor and gets him eliminated.

Fuzzy Memories Series

The bartender of Playa De' Losers who...Really doesn't do anything of any major importance compared to the Xtreme series.

Labeled: The Bartender
Total Number of Appearances: 1 Episode (1 in FMTDI)

Main Series Interactions

Family: None
Relationship: None
Friends: None
Enemies: Isabel, Kanaya

Tropes that apply to "Barkeep" in the Fuzzy Memories Series include:

  • Adaptational Alternate Ending: Unlike in the Xtreme series, Barkeep never overthrew the primary hosts of the series and sub-sequentially took control of the entire show, instead continuing to work as a bartender at Playa De Losers. He never seemed to have gotten the job as editor of this series either, as he seems to have no real control.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Don't get us wrong, he's still a total Jerkass and has shown absolutely no real redeeming qualities due to his sole appearance in the series only showing that he's a creep. But...At least he isn't a Manipulative Bastard who has taken control of the entertainment industry.
  • Adaptation Personality Change: He's gone from a manipulative sociopath with an undeniably large amount of intelligence to...Just a creepy bartender who mostly just acts like a twat towards others.
  • Adaptational Wimp: This version of him isn't anywhere near how dangerous and powerful he is in the Xtreme series. He's still creepy as hell and is implied to do horrible things, but he doesn't really have the same intimidation factor.
  • The Bartender: Unlike the main series, this is his sole goal in the series, simply acting as the person who runs the juice bar and doing nothing else with his time or his screentime.
  • Demoted to Extra: Went from the Big Bad of the Xtreme series to a Flat Character with basically no real personality besides being creepy.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Never revealed to have any other name than just "Barkeep", which is one of the few traits that seems to have been maintained from his original version.
  • Flat Character: Has very minimal personality and never gets a chance to shine in Fuzzy Memories: Total Drama Island.
  • Hate Sink: He still manages to be this despite only having a handful of lines, due to his more perverted and rude personality here causing him to come across as a total creep with no redeemable traits.
  • Jerkass: Rude and perverted towards Isabel and certainly seems to take an odd kind of glee out of making other people's days worse, or at the very least making them more uncomfortable.
  • Lighter and Softer: Considering he's no longer a sadistic, sociopathic privacy invading asshole, and is instead just a creepy bartender, he's certainly nowhere near as unnerving as his Xtreme series counterpart.
  • Not as You Know Them: This version of the character is basically completely different from his original version.
  • Not His Sled: The original twist of him being the main antagonist of the entire series is completely absent here, with him instead taking up the role of being a simple bartender and nothing else.
  • Out of Focus: The only staff member shown on screen during the entirety of Fuzzy Memories: Total Drama Island who never has any Hidden Depths shown on his personality.
  • Slasher Smile: Despite his Adaptational Heroism, he somehow seems to have a more horrifying and unnerving one than in the Xtreme series, with it being disturbing enough to actually creep out Isabel.

    Zeon

Zeon Strivus

Xtreme Series

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zeon.png
"I guess I'll do it...For entertainment of course...Also, don't tell my wife."

"Hey...Sorry I'm late, but I really didn't feel like coming."

Zeon Strivus, labeled The Cheating Transportation, was a staff member during both Total Xtreme Island and Total Xtreme Action.

The second most recurring non-hosting staff member, Zeon is widely considered probably one of the more despicable people across Xtreme, largely due to his habit of cheating on his wife with multiple female interns on the sets of the seasons. Due to this, most of the staff and cast(especially Doc) find him to be an absolutely disgusting and unlikable pervert who gets away with everything he does simply because nobody seems to have told his wife about it yet.

Acted as the main source of teleportation off the show in both Island and Action, though he often did so while complaining about it constantly. He was also supposedly attacked by Gareth as he was taking him off the island. As revealed on Loser Isle, he formed a short-lived friendship with Doc and Zetsu while on the island, which didn't last long due to Zeon's awful personality. Apparently gets drunk on the job constantly.

Zeon's Info

General Info

Full/Real Name: Zeon Strivus
Species: Staraptor
Gender: Male
Age: Mid-30's
Birthday: March 17th
Eye Color: Light Red
Body Colors: Grey; Dark Grey; White; Red
Nationality: American
Occupation: Taxi Driver

Series Info

Labeled: The Cheating Transportation
Total Number of Appearances: TBA

Main Series Interactions

Family: Unknown
Relationship: Unnamed Wife; Multiple Unnamed Women(unlawful flings)
Friends: Hector
Enemies: Barkeep, Doc, Kyah, Louis, Mallory, Reggie

Tropes that apply to Zeon in the Xtreme Series include:

  • All Men Are Perverts: He is absolutely obsessed with sex and everything related to it, and besides Doc, he was the member of the staff who was most likely to made a sex joke.
  • Ascended Extra: Used to do basically nothing, but began to receive a good amount of screentime due to his role as the primary means of transportation for the cast.
  • The Casanova: He's able to actively seduce younger women into sleeping with him.
    • Casanova Wannabe: However, every time he's actually attempted to flirt with a character on-screen, it goes badly for him.
  • Chick Magnet: Due to being seen as rather handsome, he seems to have a pretty easy time convincing girls into sleeping with him for seemingly little reason.
  • Deadpan Snarker: A lot of the time when he does talk, he usually only snarks at those around him.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: Receives absolutely no respect from anyone and constantly complains about it. Though unlike most examples, the viewer is much more likely to be happy that he has little respect, as he's a pretty detestable person.
  • Extreme Libido: To say he's absolutely obsessed with sex would be an understatement. Word of God has confirmed Zeon actively attempts to have sex at least once every few days.
  • Hate Sink: While we don't learn much about him as a whole, what we do often learn about him portrays him as a disgusting pervert who constantly cheats on his wife and slacks off on the job.
  • The Hedonist: Everything he does is in the hopes that he can get laid, and cares for little else since nothing else really makes him happy, thus meaning he's constantly pursuing his sole happiness.
  • Jerkass: He's actively rude and insensitive to those around him.
  • Karma Houdini: Besides getting no respect, Zeon never gets any kind of karma for constantly cheating on his wife with barely legal teenagers.
  • Kavorka Man: He has a lot of sex, but there's really nothing about him that makes it seem like any woman would have any interest in someone as depraved and unlikable as him
  • Out of Focus: Usually only got one scene every other episode or so, and at that only got a line or two.
  • Put on a Bus: Word of God has gone on to confirm that among the staff, he is the only one who will not be making a reappearance in Total Xtreme Refresh.
  • Really Gets Around: Sleeps around with the teenage interns of Loser Isle, and it's implied that while on Total Xtreme Action, he continued to work the job in exchange for having girls sent to him for him to have sex with.
  • The Slacker: Puts no effort into doing much of anything besides sleeping with women.
  • The Stoic: Rarely does he actually show any kind of emotion, though occasionally he will put up a false act of charm if it might help him get laid.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Sure, he wasn't exactly a Nice Guy before, but he became a full-on Jerkass during Total Xtreme Action, most likely due to two straight years of actively pursuing whoever he wants causing a lot of his morals to become more lax and more amoral.

    Mallory

Mallory Montgomery

Xtreme Series

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mallory.png
"Hey, don't you dare call me a thing. I worked hard to get this body! I'm a proud, attractive woman, so call me one dammit!"

"Actually, I shall let the Zangoose through. The rest of you can rot out here."

Mallory Montgomery, labeled The Lustful "Goddess", was an intern during Total Xtreme Action.

The first of the Total Xtreme Action interns to be introduced, Mallory is possibly the oddest of the interns in the fact that she's actually the only girl among them, and along with that, the most...Lustful. She spends a large amount of her time either having sex, or attempting to have it through offering it to anyone she deems worthy enough to give her that kind of pleasure. It that doesn't make it clear, she clearly has a pretty inflated and overall hard to get used to ego, one that the others still seem to struggle working with.

Mallory's Info

General Info

Full/Real Name: Mallory Montgomery
Species: Sylveon
Gender: Female
Age: 21
Birthday: May 22nd
Eye Color: Bright Blue
Body Colors: White; Pink; Cornflower Blue
Nationality: French
Occupation: Intern

Series Info

Labeled: The Lustful "Goddess"
Total Number of Appearances: TBA

Main Series Interactions

Family: Unknown
Relationship: Starrk(fling)
Friends: Hector, Starrk
Enemies: Cynthia, Izaya, Zeon

Tropes that apply to Mallory in the Xtreme Series include:

  • All Women Are Lustful: The only female member of the staff, and she's also the most likely one to try and convince the others to have sex with her. Word of God has confirmed she has asked both Hector and Louis to have sex with her multiple times in the past, with both usually refusing the offer.
  • Ascended Extra: Word of God has confirmed she will have a larger role in Total Xtreme Refresh.
  • Ethical Slut: She has no problem intentionally making herself act like a whore at times in order to have sex with someone.
  • Extreme Libido: Apparently she has to either have sex or masturbate three times a day, otherwise she'll get headaches. This was done as a subtle reference to the 35th president of the United States.
  • French Jerk: She's very proud of her French heritage, and is also pretty proud of just how rude she can be when she wants. Shown off best during Total Xtreme Action, where in her first appearance, she knocks out Izaya by throwing a glass boot at him, and refused access to the rest of the challenge for most of the Capable Crobat.
  • Gratuitous French: She occasionally slips in some French words in every other sentence.
  • Hartman Hips: She's not exactly lacking in the lower regions, actually apparently looking extremely appealing down there compared to most of her species, which is saying a lot considering their reputation In-Universe for being attractive by nature.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Intentionally invokes this in order to get laid.
  • Really Gets Around: Has had a large amount of sex with an even larger amount of people over the course of her life.
  • Sex Goddess: Through plenty of practice, she's apparently become one of the best people around in terms of actually being good in bed.
  • The Tease: If you refuse her offer to have sex initially, then she'll begin spending a lot of time trying her hardest to make you reconsider, usually through some very...Suggestive ways.

    Louis & Reggie

Louis Borstein and Reggie Kunis

Xtreme Series

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/louis_and_reggie.png
"Yay, we get to see some hearts breaking, won't that be fun Louis?!"

Reggie: "You just got capital 'b' for burned, man!"
Louis: "Sit down, Reggie."

Louis Borstein and Reginald "Reggie" Kunis, labeled The Quiet One of the Duo and The Loud One of the Duo respectively, were a pair of interns during Total Xtreme Action.

A pair of interns hired during Total Xtreme Action that are always seen near one another. The two have been friends all their lives, and thus do just about everything together. Across the series they're only really seen doing things together, and when they aren't it's most likely just due to them having to do their job. Either way, it seems both greatly respect one another, though Louis is easily put off by Reggie's ego and loud personality.

Series Info

Labeled: The Loud One of the Duo
Total Number of Appearances: TBA

Main Series Interactions

Family: Unknown
Relationship: Monsoon(fling)
Friends: Hector, Louis(best friend), Mallory, Monsoon
Enemies: Doc, Kyah, Zeon, Zetsu

Tropes that apply to both of them in the Xtreme Series include:

  • Ascended Extra: Word of God has confirmed they will have a larger role in Total Xtreme Refresh, which should be nice considering just how Out of Focus they were as interns.
  • Expy: Of Brian and Stewie from Family Guy.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: While their sexualities and actual relationship with one another is questionable, it isn't questionable just how loyal and caring they are towards one another, having one of the closest friendships of the series.
  • Jerkass: Both are pretty rude to anybody who isn't the other part of the duo, with Louis being snarky and condescending to others while Reggie is loud and hostile.
    • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: They're actually very kind to one another though, with some of their more likable moments coming out due to the two
  • Mistaken for Gay: Several times the other members of the staff state that they think the two have a romantic relationship. Neither has ever confirmed or denied these allegations.
  • Odd Friendship: Louis is a snarky and actually pretty down to earth guy who doesn't really care too much about anything. Reggie is a most likely insane and incredibly loud jerk who easily annoys everyone around him. They're also best friends.
  • Those Two Guys: If they're actually appearing in a chapter, they're most definitely going to be appearing together. Rarely do they ever not appear alongside one another, and when they do, it comes across as quite odd to the others.
  • True Companions: The two have known one another all their lives, with them often helping one another through their struggles and always being there for one another.
  • Undying Loyalty: The most important part of their lives is one another, and thus will hold keeping the other safe and happy as their top priority. Due to this, don't expect them to turn on one another or ever intentionally hurting the other emotionally.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Occasionally they take jabs at one another for having such polarizing personalities, but their care for one another is undeniable and they never go too far out of worry of hurting the other's feelings.

Tropes that apply to Louis in the Xtreme Series include:

  • The Alcoholic: When Zetsu was leaving the meeting room to grab himself a drink, the first thing Louis tells him as he's leaving is to grab him some liquor since he can't get any on set.
  • Big Brother Instinct: While not actual siblings, Louis takes on the role of being the platonic older brother of the two, and thus will always defend Reggie, even when he messes up.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: He's usually the person responsible for bringing Reggie back down to reality.
  • The Cynic: Has a horribly pessimistic and overall very poor outlook on the world, which Reggie occasionally mocks him for.
  • The Dragon: Will occasionally serve as Reggie's right hand man, which usually doesn't go amazingly since Reggie's kind of a bratty jerk.
  • Deadpan Snarker: If he's actually talking to you, expect wisecracks to be 90% of what he says.
  • The Generic Guy: Unlike the other interns, there isn't actually anything that's too interesting about Louis as a whole, with him overall just being a pretty normal and reasonable guy.
  • Morality Pet: Acts as one for Reggie, usually being the sole reason the kid hasn't gone too far off the deep end in terms of morality.
  • Only Sane Man: The only one of the interns whose personality isn't overly played up to an absurd degree, mostly due to not really enjoying actually acting like himself around those who aren't Reggie.
  • The Quiet One: Rarely speaks himself, and usually when he does it's only to Reggie. Either way he's not a very talkative person.
  • The Stoic: Intentionally invoked by himself; he tells Zeon that he has no reason to show his emotions around the others as he doesn't know them outside the game.
    • Not So Stoic: After Reggie goes missing, Louis gets noticeably more angry and rude, screaming at Zetsu for allowing this to happen and claiming that after he finds Reggie he'll be leaving the show.
  • Straight Man: Due to actually being fairly normal, he'll be one of the first to point out the seemingly random things his coworkers say.

Tropes that apply to Reggie in the Xtreme Series include:

  • Annoying Younger Sibling: While the two aren't actually related, Reggie takes on this role between the two, due to being smaller, much louder, and way more irritating to be around, to a point where even Louis has a breaking point.
  • Anti-Hero: While certainly not evil and he can be persuaded into doing the occasional nice thing(most likely towards Louis), don't expect him to do it too much, and be prepared for him to be very bratty and rude.
  • Attention Whore: Everything he does is in an attempt to be the center of attention and stand out.
  • Ax-Crazy: Can come across as downright psychotic and dangerous at times, though most don't really take him too seriously.
  • Butt-Monkey: Things never go Reggie's way, and he's commonly beaten down by the world around him. Doesn't stop him from immediately getting right back up and continuing to act oblivious to his environment though.
  • Camp Gay: Occasionally can come across as very flamboyant, usually while around Louis.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Absolutely insane and often will say or do random and semi-annoying things for no real reason.
  • Evil Brit: While he has lost his accent over time, he is still British, and along with that, potentially psychotic and completely deranged.
  • Genki Guy: Overall a very positive and energetic person, but this also causes him to come across as annoying.
  • Hot-Blooded: Expect him to rush into situations with little care in the world seemingly just because that's just how he works as a person. You don't even need to actually set him off, he's just naturally very thrill-seeking and incredibly violent.
  • Large Ham: Everything he does is absolutely brimming with personality and energy, to a point of irritation.
  • Motor Mouth: He talks so fast sometimes that it's actually kinda hard to keep up with him.
  • No-Respect Guy: Nobody besides Louis really respects him or actually sees him as anything more than an annoying brat.

"Sorry, I was told I need to steal this. Have a lovely day, though."

"Gee golly gosh, that looks bad. I shall bring her to the medical ward at my fastest speed...Which isn't much, but I'll try!"

Hector Shale, labeled The Friendly Giant, was an intern during Total Xtreme Action.

The final intern introduced during Total Xtreme Action, Hector oddly got some of the most screentime among them, being the most likely to show up after his first appearance and usually getting at least a line each episode. Unlike his more pessimistic comrades, Hector is a happy and incredibly cheerful bundle of joy...Well, we say bundle, but it's more like an actual mountain of joy considering his surprising height and strength compared to everyone else around him.

Tropes that apply to Hector in the Xtreme Series include:

  • Ascended Extra: Word of God has confirmed he will have a larger role in Total Xtreme Refresh.
  • The Big Guy: He is the strongest intern physically among the bunch, and is also the tallest character of the entire series to boot.
  • Camp Straight: Hector is the most flamboyant of the male interns and employees, but as far as we know he's only into women.
  • Expy: Of Hector from The Amazing World of Gumball.
  • Friend to All Children: He naturally relates to and gets along with children, and seems to naturally love them back in return in a way similar to that of a big brother.
  • Gentle Giant: The tallest character of the series at over nine feet tall. He's also easily one of the kindest and most gentle.
  • The Heart: Among the staff, Hector is the one that gets along best with the group as a whole, and thus seems to act as a way of keeping everyone from killing each other.
  • In Touch with His Feminine Side: Displays several different kinds of behavior not commonly associated with men, including being very passionate about his job(and being the only intern who actually enjoys working for the Xtreme series), having an open and emotional personality, lacking any kind of aggression, loves looking after and teaching children, is an amazing cook, and his favorite movies are chick flicks. To say he's in touch with it would be an understatement.
  • Large Ham: Occasionally comes across as this with his overall peppiness and how much he loves his job. The fact he says things like "golly" completely unironically while screaming only helps matters.
  • Nice Guy: Easily the nicest member of the staff as a whole.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Literally dropkicks Kyah through the air and into the forest after he's freed. For being such a nice person, that was a pretty sudden move on his part.
  • Younger Than They Look: He's the tallest and one of the strongest characters in the series, but he's actually only 18-years old.
