    Alex Power

Alex Power

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alexander_power_earth_616_from_future_foundation_vol_1_1_cover_0001.jpg

Species: Human mutate

Debut: Power Pack #1 (August 1984)

Former member of the Power Pack, who gained his abilities from an alien unicorn. Alex takes the reins as the leader of the Future Foundation following Reed's departure as they travel the multiverse.

  • Age Lift: Thanks to the Future Foundation being gone for what they felt was years, while in actuality only a year passed on Earth, Alex is notably a lot older than he was previously. It becomes more noticeable when Julie joins, since the two were previously much closer in age, but now he's half a decade older.
  • Brother–Sister Team: Alongside his sister Julie, the two are at the forefront of the series.
  • The Hero: Of the massive ensemble, Alex is the main character.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: He ends up breaking the Maker out of intergalactic prison, under the belief that he's the real Reed Richards. Uh oh. Subverted when issue 2 reveals he knew right away that he wasn't the real one given how different he looked from the real Richards and played him like a fiddle.
  • White Male Lead: Alex is the only character who has the combination of being white, male and human in the Sci-Fi Kitchen Sink cast. He's the lead.

    Julie Power

Species: Human mutate

Debut: Power Pack #1 (August 1984)

Former member of the Power Pack, who gained her abilities from an alien unicorn. Julie decided to join the Future Foundation because her life was falling apart back home.

  • Jumped at the Call: Mainly because her life at home sucks, and she wanted to get away from it. After seeing her ex move on with another girl almost immediately, going through a major bout of depression and being expelled from Empire State for bad grades (as a result of said depression), she decided to take anything to get her as far away from Earth as possible.
  • Stepford Smiler: Though her internal monologue and recent history make it clear she's severely depressed and only just recovering from it, she doesn't show this and instead appears outwardly bubbly and upbeat.
  • Traumatic Haircut: Happens in issue 1, but is interrupted. Luckily, the bad guys only managed to shave a small area before nanites that had been placed into her hair disguised as shampoo shorted out the clippers. They decide to take her to the cells, and the nanites spread to the rest of the aliens' computer systems, so she avoids the full headshave. She's still not happy about it though.
Alex: "My sister is definitely going to kill you."

Species: Centurian

Debut: Marvel Super-Heroes #18 (January 1969)

Interdimensional alien, former member of the original Guardians of the Galaxy, and "guest professor" to the Future Foundation.

  • Canon Immigrant: Not the Yondu from the future version of the Guardians Of The Galaxy, instead he's an alternate version of him based on his MCU portrayal. He previously appeared in the All-New, All-Different Marvel relaunched Star-Lord series that took inspiration from the MCU version, adopting their backstory together in-canon, and again in Asgardians Of The Galaxy.
  • Guest-Star Party Member: He's considered a "guest professor", but not a full-on member.
  • Heel–Face Turn: When he first appeared in Star-Lord, he was a ruthless pirate and Evil Mentor to a young Peter Quill, before being abandoned. He appeared more heroic in Asgardians and again here, having apparently decided to take missions to help people in exchange for cash.
  • The Mole: Turns out to be Lyja the Lazerfist, Johnny Storm's Skrull ex, in disguise.
  • Token Adult: He's the only full-grown adult of the Future Foundation.

The creation of Professor Gilbert. Dragon Man is a massive, towering android that looks like a dragon.
