    Pretty Cure and Allies

Yang Li/Hiroshi Lee/Ryan Lee/Cure Dragon

  • Berserk Button: Do not call him a cunt. For that matter, do not call his friends such a derogatory name. Harming animals has also been confirmed to set him off.
  • Combat Pragmatist: He may have been willing to punch a girl for daring to call him a cunt, and he's even willing to kill at least one villain early on, but in the latter case, he was most likely justified in putting said villain in a retort for the kill, and in the former case, he was trying to punch a demon that had possessed the girl to get it out (though he later admits that he would've done it anyway if she wasn't possessed when she used the C word on him).
  • Curse Cut Short: From episode 7: "You little mother..."
  • Dance Battler/I Know Madden Kombat: Come episode 20, he starts incorporating his rhythmic gymnastics experience from earlier episodes into his fighting style.
  • Dragged into Drag
  • Expy: He's a male Nagisa Misumi. The real Nagisa, now married to Shogo Fujimura, makes a cameo in episode 16.
  • Funny Bruce Lee Noises
  • In-Series Nickname: "Limey" in the English version and "Catherine" in the original Japanese version.
  • Leotard of Power: Some of his activities in normal mode require him to wear a leotard, and he even wears a leotard with his summer uniform!
  • Lovely Assistant: Disguises himself as one in episode 7.
  • Mini Dress Of Power
  • Modesty Shorts: As Cure Dragon.
  • Naked Apron: A variation: he pulls this off at the start of episode 3 while wearing a leotard and tights.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: He shares his surname with Bruce Lee.
  • Nobody Calls Me "Chicken"!: As seen in episode 36.
  • Nose Bleed: Gets one in episode 8, leading Rica to invoke being bi:
Rica: Um, Miss Lee is bisexual. Yeah, that's it. She's bi. Keep up with your physicals, nothing to see here.
  • Petite Pride: Invokes this about his "measurements":
Hiroshi: A-cup and proud of it!
  • Pimped-Out Dress: Wears a pink tutu during the art museum field trip when he's dressed as the Lilac Fairy.
  • Real Men Wear Pink
  • She-Fu: He partakes in this in numerous episodes.
  • Showgirl Skirt: He wears a couple.
  • Thoroughly Mistaken Identity: This happens during the Fashion-Shop Fashion Show in one episode when Ai Fukuda passes by and sees him cosplaying as another Cure, leading to this exchange:
Ai: What are you doing here, cousin? And without your brother?
[Hiroshi does a Face Palm and proceeds to spell out the following in Sign Language:]
    Hiroshi: I'M NOT YOUR "COUSIN".
Ai: That's bullshit! My cousin has near-red hair and tends to wear lavender a lot!
Kaori: Leave her alone, Miss Fukuda! You're talking to Miss Lee; she's only cosplaying as your "cousin".
  • The Voiceless: Only those who know his true gender get to hear his voice; otherwise, expect nothing but Sign Language from him.
  • Wholesome Crossdresser
  • Would Hit a Girl: He's just restrained about it most of the time. But if someone presses one of his Berserk Buttons, the resulting fury will know no gender. He even admits to being an equal-opportunity fighter if his Berserk Buttons get pressed at any given time.
  • You Look Familiar: Nagisa Fujimura remarks on how he resembles what she'd probably look like if she was a boy.

Xiulan Chen/Ran Chan/Susan Chan/Cure Fortune

  • Expy: She looks almost like Honoka Yukishiro. Almost. So striking are the similarities that the real Honoka almost has a heart attack from their first encounter, believing Ran to be a doppleganger until Hiroshi mentions otherwise.
  • Funny Background Event: She's the cause of one in episode 13: as Cure Dragon is fighting Kuro at the mortuary, Dragon pushes Kuro backwards, and he bumps into a casket, putting it further into the retort she's hiding in. As Dragon kicks Kuro while seated atop another casket, Fortune pushes the casket out of the retort while muttering, "Ugh... too much pushing... not enough space."
  • Girly Girl to Rica's Tomboy
  • Hammerspace: Does this in episode 9 to punctuate a Quip to Black with a pair of shades.
  • I Know Madden Kombat: Per Word of God, she studied gymnastics for a few years.
  • Lady of War
  • Lovely Assistant: Disguises herself as one in episode 7.
  • Mini Dress Of Power
  • Named After Somebody Famous: She shares her surname with Jackie Chan.
  • Pimped-Out Dress: Wears a blue tutu during the art museum field trip when she's dressed as Princess Florine.
  • She-Fu: Does this as often as Hiroshi; several episodes even have her incorporating a pirouette into her fighting style.
  • Tights With A Skirt
  • True Blue Femininity: Of course, she also likes pink.
  • You Look Familiar: Honoka Yukishiro actually faints upon seeing her, mistaking her for a doppleganger. Hiroshi assures her that that's not the case.
Hiroshi: Excuse me, Miss Yukishiro, but that girl is actually a friend of mine. Name of Ran Chan.
    Honoka: [regaining consciousness] Ran... Chan?
    Ran: Pleased to meet you.
Honoka: Sorry about that, Miss Chan... it's just that, weird things have been happening around Kanon Town lately, so I'm at a point where I'm liable to believe anything.

Fang Qia/Kaori Chiba/Kelly Chiba/Cure Fang

  • Anti-Hero: Type II; however, she'll curve into a Type IV if she sees a Yakuza nearby.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: In her first appearance, she literally curb-stomps someone for burglary. However, when we get to know her better, it turns out that she's not as much like Inspector Javert as her first scene makes her out to be.
  • Kill It with Fire: In her introductory scene, she's stated to have visited Laser-Guided Karma on a Yakuza by burning him alive.
  • She-Fu: Surprisingly averted.

    Villains

Hei/Kuro/Black/Fredo Black

Zhiming/Chimei/Fatale/Antoinette de Ville

    Others

Lei Du/Rica Watanabe/Rica Watson

Ai Futian/Ai Fukuda/Eileen Fields

  • Berserk Button: Don't use El Spanish "-o" within earshot of her.
  • Dame Swears-A-Lot: Lets loose her own variation of the Elder Swear in one episode.
Ai Fukuda: Your mother is a *beep* *beep* *beep*ing *beep* lorem ipsum *beep* *beep* *beep* admiumvenium *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* turolagulio *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* hippopotamus *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* Gleek *beep* *beep* *beep*ing Akiko Nakagawa *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* with a bucket of *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* in a castle far away where no one can hear you *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* soup *beep* *beep* *beep* with a bucket of *beep* *beep* Cure Pine *beep* *beep* with a million screenings of Batman & Robin *beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep* digital *beep* *beep* *beep* *beep* HOLLYWOOD MEW MEW!
  • Depraved Bisexual: A minor example; she's actually more of a troll than anything, and she does admit that gender doesn't matter when it comes to love.
  • Global Ignorance
  • Harmless Villain
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: Not to mention a globally ignorant one. Needless to say, she plays this purely for laughs.
  • Precision F-Strike: Says "That's bullshit!" in episode 27 when Hiroshi denies that he's her "cousin". To be fair to her, Hiroshi was cosplaying as the Cure she believed to be her cousin.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Rica notes her as probably having an ego the size of Betelgeuse. One thing's for sure; Ai definitely has one hell of an ego.
  • Villainy Discretion Shot: Sometimes her pranks get this treatment.

Yan Guo/Tsuruya Kuruwa/Juanita Cruz

  • Gratuitous Spanish
  • Only Sane Hispanic: She's one of two Hispanics featured, and not only is she the only true Hispanic on the show even then, she doesn't even try to act like her ethnicity (even though she does speak Spanish on numerous occasions). It should be noted that she's dressed as a Spaniard (specifically, a Spanish Hot Chocolate dancer) in at least one episode.
  • Pimped-Out Dress: During the art museum field trip.
  • Race Lift: Almost; she's still half-Hispanic in the English version, but in the original Japanese version it's her mother who's Hispanic; her father's the Hispanic parent in the English dub.
  • Secret-Keeper

Bancang Fubu/Hanzo Hattori XI/Nicola Terry

Zhu Tengcun (nee Heyoumo)/Nagisa Fujimura (nee Misumi)/Natalie Ferguson (nee Blackstone)/Cure Black

  • The Cameo
  • Catchphrase: An old favorite word of hers, "Arienai!", puts in a few appearances in episode 16. For example, when she sees Hiroshi and recognizes him as looking similar to her younger self:
Nagisa: I hope your game goes well, Hibiki; you can count on me for moral support, and furthermore—ARIENAI!!!!
    Hibiki: What is it?
Nagisa: Are they who I think they are?
  • Mini Dress Of Power: As Cure Black.
  • Modesty Shorts: They're still present as Cure Black, though not as obvious.
  • Rollerblade Good: As Cure Black.
  • You Look Familiar: With Hiroshi.

Wei Qingshan/Honoka Yukishiro/Hannah Whitehouse/Cure White
