Lexi
- Age Lift: In Tactical Cupcakes, the alternate version of Lexi is noticeably older.
- All-Loving Hero: Word of God has stated that Lexi can make friends with people who are very dangerous, like Tabi and Drip Spirit. In fact, the more dangerous the character is, the more likely she is to be their friend.
- The Baby of the Bunch: She’s the youngest character in the mod, being only 8. Most of the other characters are in their teen years. Hunter’s the only character to appear younger, being 6 physically. But he died 2 years before Lexi was born.
- Catchphrase: You'll hear her say this whenever she misses in place of the record scratch sound from the original.
Lexi: Eh!?
- Cheerful Child: She’s always excited to sing with her friends.
- Contrasting Sequel Main Character: Boyfriend was a 19-year-old male rapper who was motivated by his love for Girlfriend, and would battle whatever dangerous foes got in his way if it meant being able to date her. Lexi is an 8-year-old female singer whose parents went on vacation, leaving her under the custody of Aoki. She doesn't have any real motivation for singing with others besides just for fun, and her opponents don't pose any threat to her besides ???.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: She’s always friendly with other people and is looking forward to singing with them, with their permission of course.
- Missing Mom: Only her dad is ever seen. Her mom is never mentioned.
Aoki
- Babysitter Friendship: She and Lexi appear to get along really well, and seems happy to introduce Lexi to her friends.
- Contrasting Sequel Main Character: Girlfriend was Boyfriend's well... girlfriend, and a demon who'd sit on the speakers watching Boyfriend rap with his opponents. Aoki is Lexi's babysitter who doesn't have any evidence of being anything but human. She plays virtually the same role. But unlike Girlfriend, she actually got off of the speakers and held the mic herself when Lexi was possessed by ???, something Girlfriend has yet to do in the base game.
- Palette Swap: Downplayed. She appears to be a recolored Girlfriend. But unlike the base character, she also has glasses and a ponytail.
- Promoted to Playable: Becomes playable during “possession” when Lexi gets possessed.
- Written-In Absence: She isn't present in the new version of Week 3 due to getting sick.
Scratch
Aiden and Hunter
- Spared by the Adaptation: These two are still alive in the Lexinfection AU, working as scientists alongside Scratch to contain and eliminate the Lexinfection virus.
- Vocal Dissonance: For someone who died at six years old, Hunter's deep voice doesn't make him sound any younger than his brother, who died at nineteen.
Veronica
Player-Chan
??? (SPOILERS UNMARKED)
- Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: At first ??? seems to be very similar to Monster with the details described in Expy below. But while Monster simply wanted to eat people, ??? is aiming to Take Over the World using the possessed bodies of it's victims.
- Expy: Is this mod's stand-in for Monster. It shows up without any build-up, darkens the tone of the situation, and is just plain creepy overall.
- My Name Is ???: Natch.
- Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: Friendly Night Funkin' is a Lighter and Softer mod with a generally tame theme, and then this freak shows up at the end of Week 5, possesses Lexi, and plains to use her for world domination.
- Walking Spoiler: It's very existence is a spoiler in of itself.
Monika
- Adaptational Heroism: She doesn't try to hurt or delete anyone like she did in her game. Likely justified as she didn't want to display any of her disturbing tendencies in front of a child.
- Guest Fighter: She originates from Doki Doki Literature Club!, along with her first song, "Your Reality". She even references the game's disturbing nature by trying to warn Lexi that she's too young for the game before agreeing to sing, thinking it won't do any harm.
- Would Not Hurt A Child: The likely reason for her Lighter and Softer portrayal, as Monika tries to warn Lexi that she's not supposed to be in a game like hers.
