Before consolidating their space program to Suprabad in the Bahret Commonwealth, NASA tried their hand at AG technology as a way of covering the massive distances between their space stations on the Moon and later on Mars. During their long postings offworld the astronauts would try to kill time by racing their early AG craft across the terrain for entertainment. After NASA's disbandment, the team's AG research (like Dragonstar below) was channeled into the World Anti-Gravity Racing league with the support of the various fading Silicon Valley tech industries financed by the corporations moving away from the increasingly uninhabitable zones around Nova Yorica. Since the Cali Free State's secession from the old United States following a botched annexation of Mexico, which in turn lead to the United Transamerican States being formed out of America, Mexico and the former Canadian Free Provinces, the majority of the wealth and power across the continent rested in the LASF Supercity. However, most AG racing R&D in the country is based around Nova Yorica, north of the team's base at the New Philadelphia Supertech Faculy, and is steamed live directly into the homes of 95% of the country's population. They also serve as the host team for the FX War 2075, which is set in America.

• And Your Reward Is Clothes: Beating the main campaign will unlock an alternate Yangs skin for use in other modes. Although it is pretty much the same as the original, except with the red and blue colours swapped around...

Galaxy Racing

In 2069 the Seer of Dubai invited the World Anti-Gravity Racing league to hold a showcase event for the sport on a purpose-made course linking the Dubai Palm through the faded sky-high ghettos of Jumeirah Beach and on to the space scrapers of the inland New Dubai Canal Cities (NDCC). To prepare for the event the Seer commissioned the best international AG scientists and developers to make an unbeatable Jazirat Al-'Arab AG funded racing team. Thanks to investments from the the richest Arab businessmen around, the team (who were named after the Seer's desire to be the best racing team not just in the world, but also in the galaxy) handily won the race. The sport also became popular with women across the Arab world, who rushed to study at the Centre for Scientific Understanding where Faiza El-Hashem, one of the most beautiful and best (and most paid among the WAR elite!), graduated in 2071.

Izulu Dynanics initially grew out of the RPSA's successful car/people carrier industry which supplied the najority of the emerging continents' demand for personal transport for nearly 20 years in the middle of the 21st century. Financed by both the exploitation of newly discovered diamond seams and their investment in the then new solid-diamond technology, Izulu eventually became a world leader in advanced travel systems which not only interconnected all of Nuwe Rozwi's disparate territories, allowing for intense economic growth, but also travel systems across other former third world countries over previously un-navigable terrain. Their entry into the World Anti-Gravity Racing league was pretty much inevitable and is primarily a showcase for their products on a global scale. In the last few years Izulu have heavily invested their money in their new research base on the Newton Cape Connection Campus hoping to apply their AG racing technology into consumer transportation.

Southern Star

Location: Australasian Pan-Pacific Union (Australia, Southeast Asia, Oceania)

For several decades after the rest of the world's interest in the gas-guzzling Formula 1 fad died out, the sport lived on as some sort of kitsch anarchistic desert racing phenomenon across the Australian Outback. Its success can be measured by the number of participants from neighbouring countries like New Zealand and Polynesia racing in ever more outrageous (and dangerous!) machines. Southern Star was originally one of those teams, starting out as a loose band of ex-Combats, ex-Hell's Angels and other similarly anarchic disaffected groups, and they were one of the best teams around back then. As the team became more organised, its barely legal activities expanded across the Australasian Pan-Pacific Union, whose existence they tried to undermine, bringing in technological expertise from the territory. The APU Oil Drought of 2061 forced the sport to, at first integrate AG technology to their vehicles, and then to "loose wheelz" altogether by 2063. In 2075 the team as it is now is a rogue (albeit well-organised and research funded) team based at Melbourne Antigravity Division for Information Technology (MAD4IT), who are a rebellious pain in the ass for the World Anti-Gravity Racing league, and one of the most popular with the young because of it.

Dragonstar

Following the space programme's globalisation and its internationally financed relocation to Suprabad Space City north-west of Hydrabad in the Bharet Commonwealth, the former Chinese space industry disbanded and its scientists and taikonauts found that they didn't have much to do. Searching for new things to apply their tech to, their leader the child-genius and Yuan Dong boy-wonder (and wannabe taikonaut) Yukio An convinced his father, the president of the huge digital engineering giant Shenzou Fusion Corporation, to invest in a research facility at Tiangong University as a global showcase for Yuan Dong's technological and sporting prowess utilising the vision and experience of the old Chinese space industry. Dragon's Dragonstar and a new generation of star pilots was born.

Midas AG

Midas originally got its start in the Cambridge University Technology Symposium (2021-2049) which developed user-friendly consumer tech in the wake of Sinclair and other developers. They later relocated to the European-funded London Institute in 2050 to at first research inter-continental pilot-less anti-gravity commuter systems. Competitive testing saw them develop some of the world's first AG racing prototypes leading to the creation of the German-financed London Institute of Anti-Gravity Research following the declaration of the London Citystate by the rest of the UK. Midas AG are currently the longest established racing team in the World Anti-Gravity Racing league and remain peerless in regards to AG research. Although the R&D department is still based in their spiritual home of LIAR, the team itself is a truly pan-European venture with world-class tracks across the continent.

• Expy: Of FEISAR in regards to being in the EU. It also has some Icaras thrown in since their default vehicle, the Voxel, is one of the fastest (and weakest) ships around.

Lions AG

From the beginning of the 21st century the Taiwo family began accumulating their massive fortune building a technology monopoly distributing hardware and software across the emerging northern and central African markets following the widespread application of climate control systems. Taiwo Corp was effectively responsible for bringing the continent of Africa online and supplying its leisure needs, including the mass production and large scale distribution of consumer drones. Based in Ajuba and the newly verdant Sudanese capital of Khartoum, Ifeanyi Taiwo started to indulge in his fascination of the 20th century sentai tv show Mecha-Morphers by building real time Mechabots to service the huge building programmes across Africa. As a cheeky playboy indulgence and to position his tech empire at the forefront of AG racing, he founded Lions AG as a plaything with his superstar son Adaku as their lead pilot. One of the most mysterious teams in the World Anti-Gravity Racing league, Lions AG reflects his playboy lifestyle with an identity based on the Mecha-Morphers franchise which influenced his business empire.

• Fanboy: Ifeanyi really is a big fan of Mecha-Morphers, isn't he?
• Sentai: The team is inspired by in-universe sentai show Mecha-Morphers.

Neu-Tron

Location: Republica Federativa do Novamazonia (South America)

The Neumeyer Tronics family business was originally built on partnering with Supertron Autonavigation Systems across South America in cnojunction with the RPSA's Izulu Dynamics' Advanced Travel Systems which created a connective infrastructure over the Amazonian rainforest, linking east to west. Its first AG craft were made to increase the speed of travel pods traversing the Trans Andes Skyway, which was completed in 2056. Ever faster, smaller, more aerodynamic craft were developed in the race to create record-breaking times from Terminal Norte in Guayaquil, just south of the research hub of the Quito Suborbital Program, to La Terminal Sur in Puerto Natales. Such was the success of their technological achievements and speeds recorded, that their whizz-kid family heir, Airto Neumeyer, was invited by the World Anti-Gravity Racing league to compete in their newly formed racing championship.

• Expy: Of Piranha regarding nationality since Brazil is part of the team, although they're not quite as speed-focused as the original team were.

Garuda

The first AG developments Garuda made were public hoverboards to help workers and students navigate the car-less newbuilt science and technology hub of Suprabad Space City located northwest of Hyderabad. As the city grew following the relocation of the global space programme there, larger craft able to cover greater distances were needed and Garuda commissioned developers from the nearby Hyderabad Energy Research Bureau to work with an invited international symposium of AG technicians at the Suprabad Space City University to make craft specifically suited for maximum performance in the high temperatures of the region. Their chief scientist, Deepak Vijay, realized that the developments being made created super high-performance craft capable of competing with the best the rest of the world had to offer and in 2070 Garuda officially entered the World Anti-Gravity Racing league with the newly elected Bharet Commonwealth government's blessing. In their first season they won the Clive Anderson Trophy, the only team to attain such success on their first attempt.

Eurussia was the first of the big superpowers to see the potential in relocating its Space Agency in the Interworld Hub at Suprabad Space City in the Bharet Commonwealth. Its own AG research, initially in tandem with Izulu Dynamics' installation of a hyperspeed advanced travel system linking Putingrad with Suprabad, was designed to cut down on intercontinental commute times. Research showed that shorter journey times could be achieved by using relays of smaller single passenger craft piloted by smaller, lighter AG-Zhokeys over relatively shorter distances. One of the main founding investors in the World Anti-Gravity Racing league was the Eurussian ex-pat Tiberius Abramovich, who was living in the London Citystate while working as a business advisor for Midas AG. He proposed, part funded and named, in honour of the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, the Gagarin-68 racing team and their Klushino Cosmonaut Research Facility, which aimed to harness the Cossack spirit of the AG-Zhoks in an attempt for Eurussia to dominate the then new sport.

A mysterious racer who before the FX-War started broke several track records on various tracks which were then caught on camera. He serves as the final boss of the game's campaign mode.

• Ace Pilot: Background lore reveals that before the league started, he broke several lap records on various tracks such as Niagara which were then caught on camera. He also serves as the Final Boss in the campaign and is a rough customer to boot.

• Boss in Mook's Clothing: Before the 1.0.168 update, the Beast drove a Midas AG ship.
