Birthplace: Unknown
Birth Year: Modern
Personality: Cowardly
Height: 164 cm/5'4"
Type: Support
Character Voice: Casey Mongillo (English), Natsuki Hanae (Japanese)

A soft boy who frightens very easily. He much prefers hiding, avoiding contact with anyone.

  • Animal Motifs: Rabbits, wearing a rabbit hood. Much like one, he's quiet and likely to hide to avoid getting hurt.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Has a strong attachment towards Yogurt because she was the first friend he made and treated him with kindness after his previous Master Attendant died. He also unlocks his powers for the first time in order to protect her from a Fallen Angel.
  • Cowardly Lion: He freaks out a lot and gets shook up in bad situations, but will still fight alongside his fellow Food Souls.
"How frightful, why do I need to stay here by myself? Master Attendant where are you?"
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: He has an extremely negative view of himself, describing himself as weak-willed and complaining that his powers are useless.
  • No Social Skills: Tends to keep to himself. The Restaurant VIP Stories show that Yogurt and the Master Attendant are the only people he can talk to with ease.
  • Nervous Wreck: A very low-key example. He admits to lacking any confidence in himself, and wears a near-constant look of nervousness and discomfort.
  • Security Blanket: Never seen without his basket.
  • Shrinking Violet: He's very timid, awkward and prone to tears. His backstory reveals that his previous Master Attendant sheltered him a great deal, he didn't get out much until the man died and he was forced to leave home. Hell, when he meets Yogurt, he was completely unaware he had powers as a Food Soul!
  • Tragic Keepsake: That basket he's always carrying around? It was from his previous Master Attendant and nowadays he uses it as his Security Blanket.
  • Those Two Guys: With Yogurt.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Pumpkin Muffin.

Type: Strength
Character Voice: Makoto Furukawa (Japanese)

  • Artificial Limbs: Was given a prosthetic arm after his original one was removed by humans.
  • Cool Mask: Wears a mask that covers the lower side of his face. If the Master Attendant marries him, he promises that he'll take it "at the right moment".
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Was abused and experimented on by uncaring scientists that wanted to test the capabilities of Food Souls, even removing his arm seconds after he was first summoned. He then befriended a fellow Food Soul (later revealed to be Rice) who convinced him to endure the abuse, as they were helping humanity. She's labelled a failure and left for dead by the scientists, causing Salt 'n Pepper Shrimp to snap and attack them until Boston Lobster saves him. No wonder he resents humans so much.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: He acts wary when the Master Attendant feeds or pokes him, due to his resentment towards humans.
    • Another example comes from one of his intimacy lines where he states that he'll get rid of anyone who threatens Master Attendant and is genuinely confused as to why they wouldn't want that.
  • Fantastic Racism: Despises humans and considers them to be evil creatures.
  • If It's You, It's Okay: If the Master Attendant marries him, he acknowledges him/her as different from the humans and the scientists from his past, vowing to protect him/her from now on.
"You're not like the humans from before. You're special... From now on, I'll protect you."

    Salty Tofu

Salty Tofu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/foodfantasy_saltytofu.png
"Can you make me happier?"

Food Type: Refreshments
Birthplace: China
Birth Year: Unknown
Personality: Paranoid
Height: 177 cm/5'8"
Type: Magic
Character Voice: Edward Bosco (English), Ryōhei Kimura (Japanese)

The younger of the Tofu twins, Salty Tofu shares his brother's weird and rebellious nature. Strangely, Salty Tofu dislikes his own brother for various reasons.

  • Berserk Button: Just about anything related to his brother, from his smile to being mistaken for him.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: Is very obnoxious and hot-tempered. Also in his backstory he really looked up to his previous Master Attendant and tried his best to live up to his expectations. His attitude resembles a kid's here, making his case of the trope almost accurate.
  • Exhausted Eye Bags
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Resents his brother because his previous Master Attendant favored him more.
  • Jerkass Realization: Has this in his pledge line.
"Oh? Do you want to be my toy forever? ... Eh? Why is your expression so unsightly? ... Darn it, okay I was wrong, I won't call you a toy again! ... So, smile."
  • Hidden Depths: His backstory reveals he refers to his masters as playthings because he wants to have them all for himself so that his brother won't.
  • Hot-Blooded: He's very volatile and short-tempered, especially if his brother is around.
  • Inferiority Superiority Complex: Outwardly he comes across haughty, arrogant, prideful, and annoying but also has a huge inferiority complex with regards to Sweet Tofu, which drives him to assert himself in horrible ways.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: He didn't know about the murders that his Master Attendant committed or the bodies in cold storage until near the end of his backstory. When he finds out, he ends up resenting his brother even more.
  • Sibling Rivalry: A one-sided example with Sweet Tofu. See Green-Eyed Monster above.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Becomes noticeably kinder if the Master Attendant marries him. He even stops referring to him/her as a plaything, even though he has an understandable reason for calling him/her that way (see Hidden Depths above).
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Bacon Fried Rice.
  • The Unfavorite: To his former Master Attendant, which fueled up his resentment towards Sweet Tofu.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: In the end he does find out his previous Master Attendant was a murderer despite Sweet Tofu's attempts to hide it. Even though his brother just tried to protect him from the truth, it just contributed to Salty resenting his brother even more for locking him out of the loop.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: He even states that he used to be more naive before things went down in his backstory. Sweet Tofu admits he was still bratty and arrogant, though.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: He initially wanted his previous Master Attendant's approval. That is until he found out that he was a serial killer.

  • Kind Hearted Cat Lover

Birthplace: Ancient Rome
Birth Year: 13-14th Century
Personality: Cynical
Height: 185 cm/6'1"
Type: Strength
Character Voice: Chris Niosi (English), Jun Fukuyama (Japanese)

  • Ambiguously Evil: On one hand, he's a Food Soul whose loyal to you and is doing his best to get rid of the Fallen Angels and well, save the world. On the other hand, he has a tendency to use others as playthings and pawns and used B-52 to kill other people, as well.
  • Aristocrats Are Evil: A Food Soul raised as nobility, and he's not the nice kind either.
  • Became Their Own Antithesis: Spaghetti hated his Master Attendant's family for their poor treatment of him, and he hated his Master Attendant's father for treating him like an object who was only brought into the family because he could summon a Food Soul. As he grew closer to the father (in order to make sure the surviving relatives didn't inherit anything), he ended up adopting the man's mindset that people are playthings.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: One one hand he's friendly to you and seems to care about your well being. On the other hand, he also acted like this just moments before he killed his own accomplice.
  • Brutal Honesty: He has no problems telling you exactly what he thinks of people- ahem...commoners.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: For all his faults and ideologies, he seems to genuinely care for his Master Attendant's well being, as evident his worry when he finds him/her injured. Through he does still call you his precious toy, the worry is still there. This also seems to extend to most of the other members of the Desire Tavern.
  • Evil Laugh: Has one when he gets B-52 to kill the thief who had helped him board the airship in the first place.
  • Evil Redhead: Has hair as red as his name's tomato sauce and plans that no morally good person would think of committing.
  • Fake Aristocrat: For all his talk, personality, and appearance. He's still just a Food Soul, making it impossible for him to actually be part of the Blue Blood.
  • Good Is Not Nice: Even when he's technically on the good side, he's not the nicest person to hang around with.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Uses a giant fork with spaghetti twirled around it.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Played with. While he does have a tendency to see pretty much everybody around him as pawns and playthings, he also makes this very clear to those around him.
  • Narcissist: Thinks rather highly of himself, as has no problem letting everyone know.
  • No Honor Among Thieves: Has B-52 kill the thief who helped him get aboard the airship, once he's outlived his usefulness.
  • The Proud Elite: Treated as nobility and has the natural disposition of a king, this Food Soul certainly isn't going to be the first to bow down to someone, not even his own Master Attendant.
  • Shout-Out: His Hypocrite Mask skin is this to The Phantom of the Opera.
  • Smug Snake: Has no problem treating everyone like they're his toys.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Cod Fillet.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: Believe it or not. Sadly, that went out the window once his Master Attendant was poisoned to death by his own family.

    Steak

Steak

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/foodfantasy_steak.png

Personality: Combative
Height: 181 cm/5'9"
Type: Defense
Character Voice: Ray Chase (English), Satoshi Hino (Japanese)

  • Arranged Marriage: He and Red Wine met when their Master Attendants were arranged to be married. Needless to say, first impressions didn't really go well for the two of them.
  • The Comically Serious: Steak keeps his deadpan expression and straightforward personality at all times, except when he's dealing with Red Wine's antics.
    • Also in the Love Note's Day comic, when all the Food Souls are writing love letters to the Master Attendant, he's treating it as serious business.
  • Declaration of Protection: Gives this to you upon summoning him. He also vows to his previous Master Attendant to watch over Red Wine once he and his wife pass away.
  • Dumb Muscle: Not dumb per say. But it's obvious he has better street smarts than book smarts.
  • Horned Humanoid: He mentions that they need to be taken care of often.
  • Identical Stranger: In the event "Wish of Dreams" he's said to resemble Joss, the dead boyfriend of a girl named Angelea, who's dying from a terminal illness. On the request of Joss's mother, Steak is forced to impersonate Joss in order to make Angelea's last moments happy.
  • Knight in Shining Armor: As a Defense Food Soul, he is this. He also acts like this to the Master Attendant. Red Wine also begrudgingly admits to himself that he is this to him at times.
  • Like an Old Married Couple: Argues with Red Wine about everything so often that Gingerbread remarks that they act like an old couple. Doesn't help that their Master Attendants - an actual old married couple - also acted like this.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Bacon Tofu Wrap.
  • True Companions: With Red Wine and Gingerbread.
  • Undying Loyalty: He's very serious and dutiful to the Master Attendant. His background reveals he treats all his masters the same way.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Red Wine. His disdain for him is at the forefront, but beyond those squabbles, he still finds a reason to worry for him.

  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Behind his nice guy facade, he is quite manipulative and tries to get people with his sweet talking.
  • The Casanova: Described as being a bit of a womanizer. He can also be quite flirty to the player.
  • Let Them Die Happy: He tells his Master Attendant's daughter that he loves her romantically as she lays dying from a disease. While she knows that he's lying, she appreciates the sentiment and dies happy.

  • An Offer You Can't Refuse: Was forced to poison customers with a drug he made otherwise his previous Master Attendant would most likely poison his brother with said drug.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Oh dear lord. His previous Master Attendant was a serial killer and forced him to poison customers that were lured into the back of the kitchen. Despite knowing how wrong this was, he knew he didn't have a choice as not doing so would probably end up with the MA poisoning Salty Tofu. Eventually, people begin to grow suspicious and authorities begin investigating, causing the MA to become more desperate. Knowing that he and his brother were most likely to end up as either their MA's next victims or scapegoats, he gets Salty Tofu out of the restuarant by making up a story about a special ingredient. Soon afterwards, the authorities arrive and the MA flips out and starts killing them. Some time after that, Sweet Tofu kills him.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: His previous Master Attendant became a serial killer while using Sweet Tofu as his accomplice.
