The Super Mario Bros Fanfiction

Resistance

The resistance founded by Luigi to defeat the tyrannical Koopa Empire. Mostly located in the Mushroom Kingdom but has influence in other areas too.
    Luigi

The founder, leader, and most powerful member of the resistance. He was originally a scared and hopeless man but after saving Cobal the Yoshi from some Chargin' Chucks, he became a beacon of hope for all under the Empire's reign.

  • The Ace: The most powerful and skilled person in the resistance other than Mario after he joins.
  • Babies Ever After: He has a boy named Lorenzo with Daisy.
  • Blinded by the Light: He unifies his lightning with Mario's fire to create extreme light and blind King Boo in the absence of the Poltergust.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • Luigi easily defeats Boom Boom while retaking Peach's Castle.
    • He and his entire team were effortlessly overpowered by Antonio when they confronted him on the Comet Observatory.
  • Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?: He angrily insults Antonio in the Comet Observatory, despite the latter being far more powerful than him or anyone else.
  • Enemy Mine: Teams up with Bowser Jr to help fight the Neo Empire. It doesn't last.
  • The Hero: Took up this role after Mario seemingly died, fighting against the Koopa Empire and Neo Empire.
  • Heroic Second Wind:
    • After being beaten down by Roy, Luigi thinks of Mario, Cobal, and his other friends. He uses this to encourage himself to get back up and defeat Roy with Thunderhand.
    • Happens in the final battle after Antonio destroys Cobal’s Beacon-charged egg. Luigi goes into complete hysterical strength and actually manages to fight Antonio evenly. Granted, Antonio used up most of his strength in destroying the aforementioned egg, but this is still insanely impressive.
  • Hope Bringer: Luigi's rebellious exploits give hope to the citizens of the empire for the first time in a long time.
  • "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: During his battle with the brainwashed Mario in Chapter 52, he manages to turn him back from his mind-control.
  • Identical Son: He looks very similar to his father Antonio.
  • One-Man Army: He took on the armies of Roy and General Flame, defeating a significant portion of each. Yoshi described him as being worth 500 Koopa Troop soldiers (and this was before his power boost). By the time of the final battle, he was all but invincible against common troops.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Luigi, the soft-spoken one, the pure one who can find good in all his enemies, gets outright furious at his father for not intervening in the conflicts that rattled the Mushroom Kingdom and beyond, and for the mass genocide that Starfall would cause. This is especially impressive given how powerful his father is.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: The leader of the resistance and the only member that can match a Koopaling on his own until Mario is found and joins.
  • Shock and Awe: Wields the mighty Thunderhand technique which he used to great effect in his battle with Roy.
  • Shut Up, Hannibal!: In Chapter 62, Antonio tried to break Luigi with his words and explain why his plan was the perfect one for the world. Luigi wasn’t having it, and furiously insulted his father for not intervening in previous conflicts like the Shroob invasion and for the huge damage Starfall would cause. It was super satisfying, even though Antonio demolished him shortly afterward.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Started off slightly less powerful than base Mario and not nearly as brave. Now he's brave enough to head a rebellion and almost as strong as a five-times-as-powerful Mario.
  • The Unfavorite: Antonio regards him as worthless, and straight-up calls him pathetic when he confronted him on the Comet Observatory.

    Cobal

A young Yoshi who inspired Luigi to fight against the Koopa Empire after he saved him from a trio of Chargin' Chucks. He is the son of Great Gonzales Jr (The Yoshi partner from Thousand-Year Door) but has been raised by Toadbert all his life.

  • Boarding Party: Boarded a Neo Empire ship and defeated the crew before crashing it into another ship.
  • Combination Attack: Combined one of his eggs with Strike's flame to defeat Sthnadlash with a fiery egg.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Cobal wins a good amount of his battles, but the ones he loses tend to go like this.
    • Cobal was easily apprehended by Strike when the Fire Bro found out about his intent to sabotage the empire.
    • Sthnadlash had him, Strike, and Peasley on the ropes while barely trying when they broke into the Kremling's ship.
    • Skallz Fortiscule threw around Cobal and all the prison escapees like chumps.
    • Larry isn't even hit once by Cobal's entire group during their battle.
    • The biggest curbstomp of them all is at the final battle of Comet Observatory. To be fair, he was up against Antonio.
  • Hope Bringer: Inspired Luigi, Strike, Peasley, and K Rool to take a stand and fight against the Koopa Empire.
  • Human Cannonball: Fires himself out of a cannon to board one of Roy's airships.
  • Kid Hero: He’s quite young, with a still-fiery spirit.
  • Overly-Long Tongue: Has this like all Yoshis, and can swallow opponents with it.
  • Proj-egg-tile: Can throw eggs at opponents with great speed and accuracy.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: After the final battle against Antonio, he becomes one of the highest-ranking and most powerful people in the new Mushroom Kingdom army.

    Strike

Formerly a corporal for the Koopa Troop, the Fire Bro was convinced by Cobal to join him and the resistance after the Yoshi pointed out the corruption of the Empire. He is a very talented and honorable soldier and a key ally for the resistance.

  • Almighty Janitor: He’s just a corporal, but he’s the best of the best in terms of “normal” fighters, easily beating down Cobal and later his former superior, General Flame. Though his power is nothing compared to the true powerhouses like the Mario Bros and Koopalings.
  • Armor-Piercing Attack: Can condense his fire into a super-hot laser that can melt through strong armor, including the hull of Seven Stars warships.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Easily apprehends Cobal when he catches him attempting to sabotage the empire.
    • He dishes out another one to General Flame during the Seven Stars invasion.
    • He and the rest of the team are horribly, horribly outmatched against Antonio.
  • Flaming Sword: He can summon swords made of fire, and they're tangible enough to block Sthnadlash's swords briefly.
  • Four-Star Badass: He became a general and a member of Koopa High Command after the dissolution of the empire.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Joins Cobal in Chapter 27 after he tells the Fire Bro that Luigi is alive and there is hope.
  • Playing with Fire: Like all Fire Bros, Strike is capable of launching powerful fireballs and coating his fists and feet in flame.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: He hates the empire's lack of honor but his loyalty to the old Koopa Kingdom keeps him working for them.
  • Sergeant Rock: Serves this role in his squad before joining Cobal and his group.
  • Spam Attack: He can shoot out many bursts of fire at the same time. Too bad Antonio blocked every single one of them.

    Prince Peasley

Former prince of the Beanbean Kingdom who became a jaded cynic after his kingdom was ruined by the Conquest War. He was convinced to join Cobal and his group, and is now one of the resistance's greatest champions.

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: He’s literally disarmed by a flick fighting Antonio.
  • Master Swordsman: He is very impressive with a sword, and could give Sthnadlash a run for his money.
  • Took a Level in Cynic: Became so jaded he abandoned the very concept of heroes... before Cobal changed his mind.
  • The Worf Effect: His master swordsmanship was outdone by Sthnadlash.

    King K Rool

The former king of the Kremlings, K Rool joined Cobal alongside Peasley, and is the biggest and strongest member of his group.

  • The Big Guy: The strongest and heaviest member of Cobal’s group (though still far weaker than the true powerhouses like the Mario Bros. and Koopalings).
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: He doesn’t stand much of a chance against Antonio, and is killed by his beams taking a blow meant for Cobal.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Dies taking a blow meant for Cobal.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: His attacks pack a lot of oomph, but don’t have much in the way of finesse. This almost costs him his life in his fight with the Strong and Skilled Sthandlash.

    Daisy

Originally the princess of Sarasaland, Daisy became a prisoner of Morton. She and Luigi have romantic interest in each other.

  • Action Girl: Becomes this after she escapes from Morton's clutches and joins the resistance. She even landed a blow against the powerful Sthnadlash.
  • Babies Ever After: She has a boy named Lorenzo with Luigi.
  • Gilded Cage: She's treated fairly well and even acts as an advisor to Morton at times, but she's still a prisoner and eager to leave when Morton is distracted by Ludwig's invasion.
  • Pretty Princess Powerhouse: Wears a regal dress, but is powerful enough to easily defeat multiple of Sthnadlash's troops and even land a blow on Sthnadlash himself.

    Peach

The princess of the Mushroom Kingdom and Mario's wife, Peach has been missing for the past 20 years. She was held in stasis by Seven Stars the whole time, and is freed later on when they teleport her to the middle of a battle.

    Toadette

The biggest mechanical and logistical genius of the resistance. She informs Luigi of day-to-day operations, and is a valuable ally despite her lack of fighting skill.

  • The Engineer: She doesn’t do much combat, but builds weapons so others in the resistance can.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Without her reverse-engineering of Imperial airships, the resistance could never have stood on equal footing with the two empires or Seven Stars.

Koopa Empire

The evil empire that took control of the world twenty years ago. Emperor Bowser divided the world between each of his sons and daughter, but now some of them are attempting to betray Bowser and take full control.
    Emperor Bowser

Formerly Mario’s arch-rival, but after his apparent death, the Koopa led a violent conquest of the world. He has intense feelings for Peach, but his heart really aches for his dead wife, Lavaria, whom he attempted to make everyone forget about after her murder.

  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: Though he’s grown weaker in his 20-year reign, he is still more powerful than almost everyone else in the empire, and even Grand General Shelldon was helpless against him. This is especially true after he drinks Kammy's potion and regains his youth, plus a big dose of dark power.
  • Charged Attack: Bowser can charge up his flames to increase their potency, and after drinking the Dark Star potion, destroys Ludwig's prized flagship with this attack.
  • The Coats Are Off: He takes off his red cape just before leaping into battle with Mario.
  • Cosmic Entity: He becomes one after absorbing the Dream Stone among with Mario.
  • The Emperor
  • Enemy Mine: Teams up with Mario to fight Rosalina, sharing the power of the Dream Stone with him.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: He sacrifices himself by charging into Rosalina’s ultimate attack, killing her and saving the galaxy.
  • He's Back!: In Chapter 57, Bowser, reeling from how weak he's become in his old age, drinks Kammy's Dark Star potion, which instantly restores his vitality and empowers him to be even stronger than in his prime.
  • Inadequate Inheritor: The older generations seemed to think so, with both his power and honor being far less than his father Morton Sr.
  • It's All My Fault: As the final battle approaches, Bowser finally realizes the division in the Koopa Empire and all the carnage is all his fault. He manages to make peace with it though, and recovers his vigor for Ludwig’s assault.
  • It's Personal: In Chapter 61, when he finds out Seven Stars killed Lavaria.
  • Mid-Battle Tea Break: After a long, exhausting battle with Mario, the two go and sit down on a bench, reminiscing about their lives and past battles.
  • Mighty Glacier: Physically stronger than Mario or Luigi, but slow even in his prime. Now he’s even slower but hasn’t lost much physical strength. Especially true after drinking the Dark Star potion. While his movement speed was increased significantly, his combat speed remained pretty much the same. His strength increased more than either, to the point that Mario said his attacks were the strongest he had ever taken.
  • One-Man Army: After drinking the dark potion, his power grew so great that he’d have a fair shot against the entire Neo Empire, assuming he had a safe distance to charge his power.
  • Orcus on His Throne: He doesn’t personally do much to thwart the rebellion or the Neo Empire, and even in the final battle he mostly just sits on a throne. This changes after his dark transformation and discovery that Mario is alive, where he eagerly leaps into battle.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: Once he's empowered by the remnants of the Dark Star, a single fireball is enough to make a cruiser explode, and a charged burst of fire tears through Ludwig's ships, including the head of the fleet, and lights up the entire sky.
  • Rousing Speech: He’s given a speech to prepare for the final battle, but he rips the paper apart to give his own bombastic, improvised speech. It works way better than any speech the Koopa High Command could have come up with.
  • Royalty Superpower: His massive physical strength and size come from his royal lineage.
  • Stopped Caring: Bowser has given up on everything after so many years of Peach missing.
  • The Worf Effect: Ludiwg's immense flagship, Symphony of Destruction, was the most cutting-edge technology he had ever designed, and can destroy any other ship in one-on-one (except for possibly the Koopa Dominance). When Bowser gained his dark power boost, he wrecked the titanic ship with one ultra-powerful fire blast.

    Prince Bowser Jr.

Bowser’s near-identical son and the one chosen to inherit the throne much to Ludwig’s chagrin. He rules Sector Eight, consisting of the Mushroom and Beanbean kingdoms and the old Koopa Kingdom. He still wants to please his dad, a hard task given his mental state.

  • Art Attacker: Wields a large paintbrush as his weapon, and is able to create paint versions of enemies with it.
  • Awesome Moment of Crowning: In Chapter 66, he is crowned Koopa King. King rather than Emperor because his first action is to dissolve the Koopa Empire.
  • Babies Ever After: He is revealed to have had a son named Bowser III in the epilogue.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: After his Giga transformation, he easily ruins Ludwig. This is turned back around after Ludwig activates his “World Mastery: Absolute Control” spell, where Jr is thrown around by forces he couldn’t even perceive.
  • Enemy Mine: Joins forces with Luigi to fight against the Neo Empire. It doesn’t last.
  • Heel–Face Turn: After realizing the evil the Koopa Empire brought, he dissolved it and promised to be a better king then his father.
  • Identical Son: Looks exactly like Bowser except for his hair.
  • One-Winged Angel: He was taught the Giga transformation by Kamek, and uses it to beat down Ludwig.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: One of the princes of the empire, and one of its only figures powerful enough to give Luigi a run for his money.
  • Royalty Superpower: Like Bowser, his huge size comes from his royal lineage.
  • Sibling Team: Unites with each sibling to take on Skallz.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Compared to Ludwig anyway, who has superior physical and magical skill.

    Prince Iggy

Ludwig's younger brother, an adept inventor, and one of the first targets of his assault. Iggy's army is quickly defeated by his brother's war machines.

  • Gadgeteer Genius: Almost as much as Ludwig.
  • Minor Major Character: He barely appears in the story despite being the head of a ninth of the world and one of the most powerful beings in it.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: One of the princes of the empire, and powerful enough to contribute in the fight against Skallz.
  • Royalty Superpower: His significant size, strength, and magical aptitude come from his royal lineage.
  • Sibling Team: Unites with each sibling to take on Skallz.

    Prince Lemmy

The eccentric Lemmy rules in snowy areas, with nonstop circus shows. His unprepared army is quickly wiped out by Ludwig.

  • Large Runt: He’s still pretty big even though he’s the smallest of the Koopalings.
  • Minor Major Character: He barely appears in the story despite being the head of a ninth of the world and one of the most powerful beings in it.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: One of the princes of the empire, and powerful enough to contribute to the fight against Skallz.
  • Royalty Superpower: His considerable size and strength come from his royal lineage.
  • Sibling Team: Unites with each sibling to take on Skallz.

    Prince Morton Jr

The hardy, dimwitted ruler of Sarasaland and its surrounding areas, Morton leaves most of the governing to his prize prisoner, Princess Daisy.

  • Anti-Villain: He truly cares for Daisy and listens to her advice, leading to his sector being one of the best to live in.
  • Diving Save: Saves Bowser Jr from one of the Seven Stars Command Ship turrets.
  • Dumb Muscle: He’s almost as strong as Roy, and easily the stupidest of the Koopalings.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: He’s the prince of Sector 6, and the most powerful being in it, able to destroy entire War Mechs.
  • Royalty Superpower: His immense size and strength come from his royal lineage.
  • Sibling Team: Unites with each sibling to take on Skallz.
  • Token Good Teammate: His willingness time listen to his prisoner Daisy results in his sector being one of the nicest to live in.

    Grand General Shelldon

A Hammer Bro. who clawed his way up to become the highest-ranking general of Koopa High Command. He knows of the empire's corruption, but remains loyal, hardworking, and honest.

  • Badass Normal: He's just a normal Hammer Bro, but through hard work, he became the highest authority in the empire not in the royal family.
  • Badass Cape: Wears a purple cape to denote his rank.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: He is very honorable and just, but works for the Koopa Empire since that's all he's known.

    General Fortugas Flame

The governor of the Mushroom Kingdom and a member of the Koopa High Command. He is flamboyant and bombastic, but can't back up his boasts. Although he did stop the Snowmad Invasion a while back, that was most likely due to luck, and the rest of the High Command has a low opinion of him.

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: After being easily defeated by Strike, he pathetically begged for mercy.
  • Boisterous Weakling: For all his talk of his great exploits and how he's the shining star of the empire, he doesn't put up much more of a fight than a normal Fire Bro once Luigi boards his Koopa Cruiser. To be fair though, most Fire Bros wouldn’t be able to either.
  • Butt-Monkey: He becomes this later into the story, constantly failing to stop Luigi, getting hugely demoted after joining Seven Stars, and getting beaten embarrassingly easily every time he steps onto the field.
  • General Failure: He fails at every turn to defeat Luigi, and is mocked and despised by the rest of High Command.
  • Glory Hound: Ignores Blueshell's requests to inform the rest of High Command of Luigi's resistance, wanting to defeat Luigi himself and claim all the glory. It costs him dearly.
  • The Peter Principle: He was a good soldier, but making him general was a mistake for the Empire.
  • Playing with Fire: Like all Fire Bros', General Flame can throw powerful fireballs at opponents.
  • Sanity Slippage: By the final battle, he completely loses it, calling himself the one kings bow to, and saying the world is his footstool. When he finds Luigi, he recklessly sends his gunship hurdling down toward him, even after everyone including his superior warned him not to.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: Even after his rank took a massive hit to the point where he only commanded one gunship, he only increased in ego, calling himself the one kings bow to.

    Corporal Blueshell

A Boomerang Bro formerly in the service of Captain Boom Boom. When Luigi demolished Boom Boom’s entire army, he went over to General Flame for backup, only to find the Fire Bro just as incompetent.

  • Battle Boomerang: He wields one like all Boomerang Bros, and against all odds, he actually managed to hit Luigi with it, though the latter was distracted by Flame at the time.
  • Butt-Monkey: He was never listened to by Flame and always had to put up with his antics. This fades eventually as Flame himself takes this role.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: He’s not exactly competent, but definitely moreso than General Flame and Captain Boom Boom, whom he’s served under.

    Kammy Koopa

Once one of the highest-ranking people in the Empire, Kammy Koopa has been missing for years. She recently learned of Seven Stars’ role in countless events and the identity of the Grand Star, and she’s taking steps to thwart their plans.

  • The Archmage: One of the most powerful Magikoopas to ever live, and able to out-magic even Seven Stars Board members' Toadificus and Krezena.
  • Always Someone Better: Krezena Goldenwand has mastered ancient arcane texts and spells of both light and dark, but was still no match for Kammy, even though she was old and tired from running from her ship.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Her magic proves vastly superior to that of Toadificus, the Green Star, and all he can do is briefly pause her teleportation. Since Seven Stars’ Board members are usually the ones doing the curbstomping, this is a big deal.
  • Depower: Her magic could block the powers of Skallz Fortiscule for enough time to allow the Koopalings to beat him.
  • Enemy Mine: Allies with Luigi and the resistance to defeat Krezena Goldenwand.
  • Necromancer: She can summon huge amounts of spirits from the Underwhere including Kamek, whom she unified her magic with to fight Antonio. However, Word of God says she cannot choose who she summons and Kamek just happened to notice the spell, hence why she can't summon King Morton Sr.
  • Purple Is Powerful: She wears purple robes, and is able to defeat other powerful magic users like Krezena and Toadificus. She also overpowered Luigi during the initial occupation.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: Bowser's personal aide and pretty much the highest-ranking Imperial figure that isn't in the Royal Family, and can overpower Luigi himself.

    Captain Boom Boom

A Captain in the Koopa Empire, he set up residence in Peach’s Castle and now rules Toad Town. He’s not very competent, but no one bothered to oppose him in the 20 years of Imperial rule until Luigi.

  • Curb-Stomp Battle: He was easily defeated by Luigi, and his troops were cut through like blades of grass as Cobal put it.
  • Miles Gloriosus: He brags about his fighting prowess to his minions, but compared to Luigi or any serious opponent he’s nothing.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: He’s not exactly a good fighter, but he’s still quite strong, and is a captain of over a hundred troops.
  • Starter Villain: He’s the first obstacle for Luigi in his quest to defeat the Koopa Empire, and is far weaker than any other major villain.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: He has a muscled body, but Luigi called him one of the poorest fighters he’d ever seen.

Neo Empire

An empire founded by Ludwig after he found out Emperor Bowser was going to put Jr on the throne. It consists of four Koopalings’ territories, and its technology is ahead of the rest of the Koopa Empire. It is also backed by the ultra-powerful criminal organization; Seven Stars.
    Prince Ludwig

The de facto leader of the Neo Empire. Though Roy, Larry, and Wendy are nominally ranked the same as him, it is clear he holds the real power. He has aspirations of taking over the Koopa Empire as well, and advancing the world’s technology and art, though at the cost of freedom.

  • The Ace: He's an extremely effective inventor, expert strategist, and top-level magic user.
  • The Archmage: His magical power is extremely formidable, and with his greatest spell “World Mastery: Absolute Control” he can warp reality in ways even Kamek can’t.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: The leader of the Neo Empire, and able to easily defeat even other Koopalings and provide the most help against Skallz.
  • Badass Bookworm: He reads constantly and composes a lot of musical masterpieces, but he has huge amounts of physical and magical power.
  • Badass Cape: Wears a grand blue cape to match his blue hair and magic. Roy finds it ridiculous.
  • Big Damn Heroes: He arrived to save his brothers from Skallz at the last second.
  • Emperor Scientist: Has aspirations of being one, using his masterful inventions to challenge his father and siblings.
  • The Evil Prince: His entire war is because Bowser let Bowser Jr inherit the throne instead of him.
  • Instant Armor: Amongst his many magic powers is his glowing blue armor he can summon from nothing.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: While he relies primarily on magic, his physical prowess is nigh-unmatched as well.
  • Mad Scientist: Spends a lot of his time building powerful war robots and other machines with repurposed technology, then sets them on his siblings.
  • Mind over Matter: Ludwig is capable of powerful telekinesis. He used this power on Roy and Morton.
  • Orcus on His Throne: Despite being powerful enough to defeat anyone in the world singlehandedly except for the Mario Bros, Skallz, potion-enhanced Bowser, and Antonio, he never deigns to fight himself until the Symphony of Destruction is destroyed.
  • Reality Warper: His greatest spell, “World Mastery: Absolute Control”, can cause insane shifts in reality. However, it is heavily draining to use. This allowed Bowser Jr to send him out of the Citadel with a surprise fire attack after it was over.
  • Royalty Superpower: His huge size and strength as well as some of his magical might come from his royal lineage.
  • Science Wizard: A master at both science and magic, and unifies them seemlessly in his Humongous Mecha with magical reactors.
  • Sibling Team: Unites with each sibling to take on Skallz.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: He doesn’t like Krezena and the Seven Stars and knows they are merely using him for their own ends. Regardless, he knows he needs their resources to stand up to his father.
  • The Starscream: He was a prince of the Koopa Empire, but betrayed his father, Emperor Bowser, and is attempting to take over his empire to start his own Neo Empire.
  • Time Master: He can temporally freeze foes in their tracks, including powerful ones like Morton Jr and Bowser Jr.
  • Utopia Justifies the Means: Ludwig wants an empire to advance the world’s technology, magic, and art, and he’ll step on anyone to get it. Downplayed after it was pointed out that while the Neo Empire had incredible advancements, Ludwig’s desire for absolute control led to most citizens being little more than slaves.
  • Villain Has a Point: He’s certainly correct about Bowser wasting resources on pointless things and Jr being a brat not fit to rule.
  • Visionary Villain: He dreams of a higher-tech empire, one that will last forever and expand into other dimensions.
    Prince Roy

The strong, brutal prince of Sector Four and one of the leaders of the Neo Empire. He has insane physical strength and bloodlust to match, and craves power above all else.

  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: The prince of Sector Four, and nearly defeated Luigi when his hundreds of soldiers were helpless against him.
  • BFG: Can transform his wand into a huge Banzai Bill Blaster.
  • Big Damn Heroes: He saves Cobal and the gang from a War Mech in Chapter 57.
  • Blood Knight: Loves combat, and has the strongest military of the Koopalings (aside from perhaps Ludwig.)
  • Boring, but Practical: He doesn't have a lot of flashy magic attacks or hyper-advanced technology like Ludwig, but his extreme strength makes him one of the deadliest Koopalings, and his vast armies are essential to Ludwig's plan.
  • The Brute: He's even stronger than Bowser in his prime, but is not very smart compared to the other Neo Empire leaders.
  • The Bully: He bullied his siblings in his youth, and his sector is one of the worst to live in. His bullying tendencies are so bad he was nicknamed "Prince Bully".
  • Enemy Mine: He defeats one of Ludwig's War Mechs to save Cobal and the gang.
  • Muscles Are Meaningful: He is ripped, and his physical strength is above any other Koopaling.
  • No-Sell: He was unaffected by a powerful hammer strike from Luigi.
  • Not Quite Dead: He didn't die from Ludwig's surprise attack on his ship, even though it completely totaled the ship.
  • Royalty Superpower: His immense strength and size come from his royal lineage.
  • Sibling Team: Unites with each sibling to take on Skallz.
  • The Worf Effect: He easily beat the tar out of Luigi, who hadn't lost a fight since the initial occupation and his battle with Kammy 20 years prior.

    Prince Larry

The eccentric and thrill-seeking prince of Sector One. He loves to make fun of his brother Roy, and assists Ludwig in his Neo Empire.

  • The Arch Mage: He knows a lot of very dirty magic spells that can give him the edge against even stronger opponents.
  • Auto-Revive: His “Last Resort” charm, a one-time seal that teleported him away from the moment of death during his battle with Antonio.
  • Barrier Warrior: Casts magical force fields before battle that render him immune to many elemental attacks.
  • Crazy-Prepared: Larry’s most formidable quality isn’t the power of his blasts or his physicality, but rather the sheer amount of magical charms he casts before a fight.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle:
    • Isn't even hit once by Cobal and his group. Cobal wonders if even Luigi could beat him.
    • He was on the receiving end against Antonio, even with the magic dust he spread to fire lasers in all directions at once, Antonio still dodged them all and destroyed Larry with one attack.
  • Deflector Shield: He has both passive ones and active ones up during a fight.
  • Forgot About His Powers: He can increase his speed greatly, which he didn’t think to do during his fight with the very fast Koops.
  • Geas: He can cast Slave Seals, which bind the victim’s life force—and their family’s—to his whims.
  • I Fight for the Strongest Side!: Like Wendy, he's willing to side with whoever's winning, which leads to him wanting to join Seven Stars.
  • Karma Houdini: After the war, he scams his way out of prison and even becomes the head of a company.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: He is a proficient swordsman as well as a fantastic magic user.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: One of the leaders of the Neo Empire, and powerful enough to easily defeat Cobal's whole group and even win against Giovanni via summoning many lasers at once.
  • Royalty Superpower: His impressive physical and magical might come from his royal lineage.
  • Sinister Scimitar: He can summon glowing blue scimitars that spread magic dust on walls, which Larry can activate to shoot lasers all at once. The only one who has ever dodged this laser attack was Antonio.
  • Sibling Team: Unites with each sibling to take on Skallz.
  • Super-Speed: He can cast speed charms that put him fairly close to Antonio in speed.
  • Teleportation Rescue: Rescues Roy via teleportation before he can be incinerated by a Nuclear Bob-omb.
  • The Starscream: He does this three times, each to a different organization. First he defects from the Koopa Empire among with Ludwig and Roy. When that doesn’t work out, he joins Seven Stars even though they planned to destroy both of his former sides. Shortly after, he betrayed Seven Stars and tried to assassinate Antonio, “tried” being the keyword.
  • The Trickster: His zany, unpredictable schemes and tricky magic make him one of the most dangerous Koopalings.
  • Thrill Seeker: When he went out alone to sabotage Bowser Jr's fleet, he realized he could die if he was caught, but found that just part of the fun. Subverted later on when it’s revealed he had a Last Resort charm that could save him the moment of death.

    Princess Wendy

Bowser's only daughter, she rules Isle Delfino and sea areas and loves herself more than anything else. She's not cut out for war and has little tactical knowledge, but joins up with Ludwig nonetheless.

  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: Despite her hatred of fighting, her royal blood makes her very formidable in combat, and she contributed in the fight against Skallz.
  • I Fight for the Strongest Side!: Ludwig notes she's willing to side with whoever's winning.
  • No Sympathy: Wendy is unforgiving in general, and is unwilling to forgive Ned Kuppet, her right-hand man, for staying with Ludwig over her.
  • Out of Focus: She's among the least focused-on of her siblings.
  • Royalty Superpower: Her considerable size, strength, and magic despite her lack of training come from her royal lineage.
  • Sibling Team: Unites with each sibling to take on Skallz.
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: Makes plans to bail on Ludwig after watching him wreck Roy.

    General Koops

Once he was a partner of Mario, now he's a very high-ranking general in Koopa High Command who works for Larry. His power has been augmented by the Koopaling, but there was also a powerful curse placed upon him that kills him and his entire family if he disobeys.

  • The Ace: The strongest general in the Koopa Empire, and the only non-magical Koopa that can match Koopa royalty in combat despite not being royalty himself. Larry regards his skills on the same level as his royal siblings and Luigi, and he is in line to become Grand General after Shelldon.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: His power augmentation puts him far above Mario's other former partners and they can't touch him during their battle.
  • Forced into Evil: Koops is not happy about what he has to do, but the Slave Seal forces his hand until Vivian burns it off.
  • Geas: Koops is kept in line via a Slave Seal rune that will kill him and his entire family if he disobeys. When Vivian burns it off, he's freed.
  • One-Man Army: He carves through enemies like a knife through butter, and is likely the strongest person in the resistance other than Mario and Luigi.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: He's Larry's highest general and the candidiate for Grand General after Shelldon steps down. He's also powerful enough to easily defeat all of Mario's other partners.
  • Super-Speed: He's much faster than he used to be in Thousand-Year Door.

    King Boo

King of the Boo race and a former member of Koopa High Command, the great ghost was among the first to join the Neo Empire, serving as Ludwig’s second-in-command.

  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: He’s one of Ludwig’s top men, and he has all manner of powerful magic attacks.
  • Blinded by the Light: This is how Mario and Luigi defeat him in absence of the Poltergust.
  • Fantastic Racism: He wants a portion of the Neo Empire’s territory so he can eliminate all non-ghosts there.
  • Ghostly Chill: He gave Ludwig chills floating behind him.
  • Intangible Man: It seems impossible for Luigi to beat him, given how all attacks phase right through, until Mario joins up with him to unleash a blinding light.
  • No-Sell: Normal attacks pass right through him.
  • Royalty Superpower: His strong magical power and greater size than normal Boos come from his royal lineage.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Like all his kind, he has a weakness to light, which is how Luigi defeats him in the end.

    General Crushell

The massive Sledge Bro is Roy’s (and later Ludwig’s) top general, and a major enforcer of the Neo Empire.

  • Humongous Mecha: He pilots one of Ludwig’s mechs in the final battle. As he’s about to use it to destroy Cobal’s group, Roy destroys the machine, and him inside.
  • Karmic Death: He’s killed by Roy after having just went with Ludwig instead of him a few chapters earlier.
  • Large and in Charge: As a Sledge Bro, he’s one of the biggest people in the empire, and he’s a hugely important general.

Seven Stars

A mysterious organization that influences events from the shadows. They have power over all major cartels and criminal organizations, and their technology is even more advanced than the Koopa Empire.
    Grand Star

The leader of the Seven Stars and the most powerful fighter to ever live. He caused Bowser's turn to evil by killing Lavaria. He plans to kill the Star Children and has convinced Rosalina to cause Starfall and depower everyone special, creating a world of balance.

  • The Ace: The greatest warrior in history, has invented new magic techniques, and maintains a highly advanced and organized N.G.O. Superpower.
  • Anti-Villain: His plan to depower the universe is not for selfish gain but rather so that wars and inequality would cease.
  • The Arch Mage: It’s easy to forget, but he is actually an insanely powerful magic user as well as a legendary warrior.
  • Archnemesis Dad: Mind-controls one of his sons and sends him to attack the other.
  • Badass Boast:
    • He makes one as he is about to kill Lavaria
Lavaria: Even if I die here, my husband and my children will stop you.
Antonio: Stop me? When the earth shakes at their footsteps, when people faint and grow ill when they here they are near, when the mountains crumble from their blows and their flames stretch into the depths of space...that is when I will fear, Lavaria. Never before.
Antonio: As you see, the differences in our power is substantial. I have studied every fighting style of every nation practiced throughout every period of history. I know the techniques of the Ancients of the Mushroom Kingdom, the fighting style of Kooperazeroth the First Koopa King. I know the personal forms of all the Four Heroes who faced the Shadow Queen, and lost and forbidden techniques developed by the extradimensional mages we know as the Tribe of Darkness. I know the different martial arts every culture of Shroob practiced before their pathetic planet collapsed, fighting styles of long-dead nations that have faded away from the memory of all but the most learned, revolutionary new techniques that have never before seen the light of day. I know magic that was created by radical wizards who thought they could slay gods. Against all that, what have you, my insolent son?
  • Big Bad: He’s the head of the most powerful antagonist faction in the setting, manipulating everyone else from the shadows.
  • Charles Atlas Superpower: Much of his incredible power comes from intense training.
  • Combat Breakdown: He uses up most of his power destroying Cobal’s Beacon egg, turning him from Nigh-Invulnerable to still incredibly powerful but weak enough for Luigi in his Heroic Second Wind to match him. He also gets extremely fatigued in that very battle with Luigi, to the point they both lose all finesse and are basically just grappling each other.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: He has one power level: stronger than anyone and everyone else.
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Not only does he defeat the divinely powerful Zeekeeper and tank spells on par with those of the Shadow Queen, he does so easily.
  • The Dreaded: The mere mention of him can cause his enemies to faint in shock.
  • Excuse Me While I Multitask: He dodges and parries every attack from Luigi and Cobal’s group, often without even looking.
  • Flaming Sword: He can summon them, like when he held one to Skallz's throat.
  • Freudian Excuse: His desire to strip the world of its power stems from his highly destructive battles with King Morton, which ravaged the kingdom and killed his wife.
  • Gag Nose: He has the same exaggerated nose as his sons, but this doesn’t make him any less feared.
  • Heroic Willpower: During the battle with King Morton, the one time he was matched in strength, his will was what led him to victory.
  • I Have No Son!: He doesn’t consider Mario or Luigi to be his sons anymore.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard: He’s the greatest fighter ever, both physically and magically.
  • Light 'em Up: He can shoot out many beams of light and control them seamlessly.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Not only is he the strongest being in the world, he’s also the fastest.
  • Master of All: He’s mastered fighting styles from just about every civilization under the sun.
  • Nonchalant Dodge: He effortlessly dodged Larry’s attacks while maintaining his emotionless demeanor.
  • One-Man Army: He's far more powerful than Skallz Fortsicule, who defeated all the Stoneshell Prison escapees (themselves examples of this trope) singlehandedly. He can beat an army of One-Man Armies! When he’s knocked down to New Donk City during the final battle, he wrecks all three opposing armies without even getting cleanly hit!
  • Orcus on His Throne: Despite his immense power, he doesn’t even leave his HQ until the final battle at Koopa Central. Even then, he doesn’t get off his command seat until the climax.
    • Exaggerated when Larry literally waltzes on in to his command room, mocks him and tells him he killed his brother, and all Antonio does is walk away. Even when Larry directly attacks him, all he does is dodge until Larry unleashes his omnidirectional laser attack.
    • Luigi calls him out on this when they finally meet, telling him he could have saved so many lives during the Shroob invasion and other conflicts.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: His battles with King Morton ravaged the land, tore through mountains, and created canyons. It was these incredibly destructive battles that gave him the mindset the world had become too powerful, and taking the power away would lead to balance and equality.
  • Punch Catch: He effortlessly does this on Luigi, showing the difference in their abilities.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: The leader of the Seven Stars and easily its strongest member.
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: He can summon spears of light and cast them toward opponents.
  • The Stoic: He maintains an extremely emotionless expression, even in battle. Even when Luigi was matching him and both of them were on their last legs, he didn’t have a Villainous Breakdown, but was calm throughout.
  • Strong and Skilled: He isn’t just the strongest and the fastest person ever, but also the most skilled, and has learned techniques from many powerful groups such as the Shroobs, Tribe of Darkness, and the 4 heroes that sealed away the Shadow Queen.
  • Super-Speed: He's fast enough to hold a knife to Skallz's throat before he can react.
  • Token Human: The only human member of the Board of Directors other than Giovanni until his son Mario becomes Red Star.
  • The Worf Effect: He easily held a fiery knife to the throat of Skallz, who is himself superhumanly fast, before the Koopa could react.
    • Later on during the battle of Koopa Citadel, Larry confronted him in his command room, utilizing the same omnidirectional laser trick that defeated Giovanni, only multiplied by several times. Antonio still managed to dodge the entire attack and effortlessly defeat Larry.
  • World's Strongest Man: He is the most powerful fighter to ever live, far stronger than both of his sons the Mario Bros' combined!

    Skallz Fortiscule/Purple Star

A koopa with a high rank on Seven Stars' Board of Directors. He has knowledge of a magical technique known as Sun's Amber Eyes, and this makes him one of the most powerful beings in the world. He isn't really interested in the Grand Star's plan, but he follows his orders for the thrill.

  • The Archmage: The most offensively powerful magic user in the world (aside from his boss) thanks to his Sun’s Amber Eyes technique, which he learned without any teacher and only one scroll.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Wears a white tuxedo and fedora, and his power matches his dapperness.
  • Black Mage: Despite his magic being powerful enough to face all of the Koopalings at once, he doesn't seem to have any non-offensive spells at all.
  • Blood Knight: He sure loves to fight. Even when he was hopelessly outmatched due to his powers being blocked, he smiled like a psychopath the entire time.
  • Co-Dragons: He shares his role of second-in-command with Giovanni, the Blue Star.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: He inflicts this on the Stoneshell Prison escapees.
  • Dissonant Serenity: He had a calm, cool smile throughout most of his fights until he pushed his luck against all of Bowser’s children and Kammy and it became clear he couldn’t win. He laughed like a madman when his doom was assured.
  • Dual Wielding: He brandishes two knives in case of emergency.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: He started off as a powerless hoodlum in the slums, but after taking the scroll teaching the magic technique Sun’s Amber Eyes, he became one of the most powerful beings in the world.
  • Hypocrite: Insults Sthnadlash for not going all-out against Cobal and his group allowing them to escape when he himself didn't go all-out against the Stoneshell Prison inmates, allowing them to escape.
  • I Am Not Left-Handed: When the combined might of the Koopalings sans Ludwig proves too much for his two eyes, he opens up a third to unleash his full power.
  • Laughing Mad: As it becomes clear he can’t win against all of Bowser’s children and Kammy at once, he begins hysterically laughing and relishing in what he knows is his last fight.
  • Master of One Magic: Sun's Amber Eyes is his only known magical technique.
  • Mind over Matter: His knowledge of Sun's Amber Eyes grants him incredibly powerful telekinesis, even enough to lift entire towers and rip off a large portion of his sky-obscuring command ship.
  • Older Is Better: His magic, Sun’s Amber Eyes, is an ancient type that can outperform any modern type of magic offensively but it can be blocked off by modern magic, like Kammy’s.
  • One-Man Army: He defeated all the prison escapees simultaneously, who are each individually threats to entire imperial garrisons.
  • Power of the Sun: His immense power comes from his mastery of Sun's Amber Eyes magic.
  • Professional Killer: According to Giovanni, most high-level threats to Seven Stars are dealt with personally by him.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Has the rank of Purple Star, wears a purple striped fedora, and is the second-most powerful being in the world.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: Is the second-in-command of the Seven Stars and one of the most powerful beings in the world.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: His eyes are typically orange, but turn red when unleashing his most powerful attacks like when he killed Sthnadlash.
  • Super-Speed: He’s fast enough to react to every Stoneshell Prison escapee attacking him simultaneously.
  • Third Eye: He can open up a third eye to increase his power and give him 360-degree vision.
  • Villainous Breakdown: As it becomes clear he can’t win against all of Bowser’s children and Kammy at once, his cool demeanor fades completely and he begins hysterically laughing, relishing in what he knows is his last fight.
  • Weaksauce Weakness:
    • He can only lift one object at a time with each hand, though his superhuman speed makes up for it.
    • His immense power can be blocked off, even by less powerful magic users such as Kammy.
  • You Have Failed Me: Kills Sthnadlash after he fails to defeat Cobal and his group twice.

    Giovanni/Blue Star

The Blue Star and Antonio's brother. He isn't a fighter like Antonio but builds amazing inventions (though he can still fight fairly well). He created many of the technologies that Seven Stars used.

  • Artificial Limbs: He has a metal arm which he can summon powerups with.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: He shares the role of Seven Stars’ second-in-command with Skallz, and while not quite as powerful as him, he still held the upper hand against Larry, until the Koopa spread magic dust around the area, causing many lasers to spring up at once and kill him.
  • Co-Dragons: Shares the role of second-in-command with Skallz Fortiscule, the Purple Star.
  • Evil Uncle: It’s easy to forget, but he’s actually the uncle of the Mario Bros.
  • Fake Arm Disarm: His arm is the first thing to go when Larry unleashes his multidirectional laser spell on him.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: The biggest mechanic of the Seven Stars. He designed his metal arm, which can replicate powerups ad infinitum.
  • Minor Major Character: He’s the second-in-command of the Seven Stars, and the one who designed their incredibly advanced technology. Yet he only appears in a few chapters and is defeated in his first in-story fight with Larry.

    Sthnadlash/Silver Star

A black Kremling and the youngest member of the Seven Stars' Board Of Directors. He is an expert swordfighter who has battled the resistance multiple times. Though he has a seat on the Board, he is its lowest-ranking and least respected member, and his failures at dealing with the resistance caused Skallz Fortiscule to kill him in anger.

    Krezena Goldenwand/Yellow Star

A powerful Magikoopa who is a member of Seven Stars’ Board of Directors. She makes many deals with Ludwig in person, though he has distaste for her. She considers herself the pinnacle of magical might.

  • The Archmage: Her magical power is roughly matched only by Kammy, Larry, and Ludwig (though they are a bit above her), and clearly surpassed only by her superiors.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: Higher-ranked than Sthnadlash and Toadificus, and more powerful than them as well. Still doesn't stop her from losing to Kammy just like Toadificus did, though she put up a better fight than him.
  • Gold-Colored Superiority: She wears ornate golden robes, and has the title of Yellow Star. She is also one of the most powerful magic users in existence.
  • High-Tech Hexagons: She’s more about magic than tech, but the hexagonal patterns on her robes still indicate great advancement.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Killed by the burning remains of her own ship crashing into her.
  • The Rival: Considers herself Kammy's successor in magic, though Kammy proves she's still got it and defeats her.
  • The Smurfette Principle: The only female member of Seven Stars’ Board of Directors.
  • Villain Teleportation: She can teleport long distances, which neither Mario, Luigi, Cobal, Peasley, or anyone else in the resistance can.

    Toadificus/Green Star

A Toad who works as the Green Star. He doesn't care about the Seven Stars' true plans, and is only in it for the money and benefits.

  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: A member of Seven Stars' Board of Directors, and a powerful magic user, though nowhere near the level of his superiors or Kammy.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: His magic may be strong for a Toad, but it is far outclassed by Kammy.
  • Informed Ability: He's said to be very careful, but he launched a fire spell at Kammy in a room full of Bob-ombs.
  • Only in It for the Money: He doesn't care about the Grand Star's plans and is in Seven Stars for profit and power.
  • Playing with Fire: Can launch powerful magical fireballs. This ends up being his undoing when Kammy deflects them into the Bob-ombs stored in his base, causing a huge chain reaction that killed him and destroyed the base.
  • Teleport Interdiction: Can briefly hold off Kammy Koopa's teleportation.

    Red Star

The Grand Star's newest recruit, and a powerful fighter in his own right.

  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: A member of Seven Stars' Board Of Directors and later the co-leader if the resistance, and a very powerful fighter.
  • Babies Ever After: He has a girl named Bianca with Peach.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Controlled by his father Antonio in every action, until Luigi snaps him out of it.
  • Cosmic Entity: He becomes one after absorbing the power of the Dream Stone along with Bowser.
  • Enemy Mine: Teams up with Bowser to fight Rosalina, sharing the power of the Dream Stone with him.
  • Mid-Battle Tea Break: After a long, exhausting battle with Bowser, the two go and sit down on a bench, reminiscing about their lives and past battles.
  • One-Man Army: He’s Mario, what else would you expect?
  • Playing with Fire: Can manipulate fire to a great extent and was able to destroy Skallz's warship with it once free of the Seven Stars' mind-control.
  • Spin to Deflect Stuff: He twirled his fiery hammer to deflect Bowser’s fire in a similar vein to Thor deflecting Surtur’s in Thor: Ragnarok.
  • Spontaneous Weapon Creation: He can make hammers out of his fire.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Is five times more powerful than before his apparent death.
  • Walking Spoiler: It's almost impossible to talk about him without revealing his identity.

Miscellaneous

Other characters in Fallen Kingdom.
    Yoshi

The head of the terrorist organization Fire Flower. He used to have honor, but years of horrific actions in his attempt to sabotage the Koopa Empire have hardened him. He eventually joins Luigi's resistance after Peach forgives him for his evils.

  • The Atoner: Atones for his many war crimes by joining Luigi's resistance after Peach forgives him.
  • He Who Fights Monsters: He slowly became as bad as, if not worse, than the Koopas he fought over time.
  • I've Come Too Far: By chapter 43, the only reason Yoshi sticks with Fire Flower is because he feels he's come too far to stop.
  • Nuke 'em: Dropped a Nuclear Bob-omb on Neon City after Luigi defeated Roy.

    King Morton Sr

Bowser's father and the previous king of the Koopa Kingdom. He battled against the Mushroom Kingdom at around the same time as Mario's birth because they wouldn't share their resources while the Koopa Kingdom was in a famine. His power is incredibly vast and matched only by Antonio.

  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: The king of the old Koopa Kingdom and by far the most powerful being in it.
  • The Dreaded: According to Ludwig, he was much more greatly feared than Pre-Imperial Bowser. Though while Ludwig implies it’s Bowser’s ruling style that made him less feared than his father, if he had the same power as Morton he would probably have been just as feared.
  • Fighting Your Friend: He and Antonio used to be the best of friends, until the war made them enemies, and with their incredible power their personal battle would be the thing to decide the war.
  • The Good King: He was implied to be a better king than Bowser.
  • One-Man Army: He could have easily defeated the entire Mushroom Kingdom if not for Antonio.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: His battles with Antonio ravaged the land, tore through mountains, and created canyons.
  • Royalty Superpower: Much of his incredible power comes from his royal lineage, though his intense training massively increased it to over twice that of all his grandsons combined.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Only mentioned in a few chapters, and has been dead for about 50 years, but the Koopa Empire would never have taken over if not for his initial war.
  • Super-Speed: Could keep up with the lightning-fast Antonio.
  • World's Strongest Man: He shares this role with Antonio, who admitted that the only reason he beat Morton was because of his superior willpower.

    Rosalina

The guardian of the stars, who has taken an interest in Cobal and his fate, imploring him to stop fighting before it's too late. She is joined with Antonio and the Seven Stars in their efforts to depower the universe.

  • Cosmic Entity: She controls the power of the stars and can contend with Mario and Bowser after they were empowered by the Dream Stone.
  • Face–Heel Turn: Joined Antonio some time after Galaxy.
  • Light 'em Up: She can shoot out beams of light that destroy entire mountains.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: She can wreck entire mountains much like Antonio. Unlike him, however, her most powerful attacks can destroy planets!
  • Physical God: Giovanni regards her as a goddess and is confident no one can defeat her even if they were to somehow fall.
  • Sinister Scythe: Wields a scythe made of starlight as she prepares to fight Mario and Bowser.
  • Took a Level in Cynic: Originally loved the world, but Antonio convinced her that a world with super powerful beings was hopeless.
  • The Unfettered: Mario notes that, unlike foes like the Shadow Queen and Super Dimentio, Rosalina is at the height of her power, knows exactly how to command it, and isn't holding anything back.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Rosalina's power is unimaginable, but she's never had to go all-out against opponents and can't adapt as easily to new tactics.
  • World's Strongest Woman: While Antonio is this for mortals, she’s this for cosmic beings. She was said to be more powerful than all the Star Spirits combined or the Shadow Queen at full power.

    Queen Lavaria

Bowser's former queen. Since her death at the hands of Antonio, mentioning her has become a crime.

  • The High Queen: A good queen and wife, helping Bowser and calming him down when he’s upset.
  • Legacy Character: Bowser wouldn’t even be kidnapping Peach if not for her death.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: The Queen of the Koopa Kingdom before her death. She is very powerful in magic and did better against Skallz Fortiscule than the entirety of Mario’s old partners and allies combined.
  • Teleport Spam: She utilized this to avoid Skallz’ attacks, but eventually he wore her down to the point she couldn’t use it.
  • Together in Death: When Bowser sacrifices himself to save the galaxy, she appears before him, and it is implied they’ll live happily together in the Overthere.
  • Un-person: After her death, all records of her were stripped from the history books.

The Minecraft Animation

    The King
The kind-hearted ruler of a human kingdom befallen by hostile mobs.
  • Big Good: Benevolent ruler of his kingdom, and did all in his power to thwart Herobrine's invasion.
  • Decoy Protagonist: He's the central character of the first video, but from the second onward it's the Prince's stroy.
  • The Good King: Cared for his subjects and frequently mingled with them.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: When his kingdom is in danger, he puts on a helmet, takes up a diamond sword and fights alongside his soldiers against Herobrine and his army.
  • Tragic Hero: He loses the kingdom he built up and fails to defend his people from Herobrine's army.
    The Son
The son of the King, who was taken in and raised by villagers after his kingdom's fall.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: The end of "Dragonhearted" sees him ride the Nether Star missile into a Nether Portal to nuke the castle in that realm and destroy the Nether forces in one fell swoop. It works, but the Prince dies.
  • Warrior Prince: He was trained from a young age to be a fighter.
    Sensei Villager
A villager specializing in swordplay who trains the Son.
    Herobrine
A dark lord who commands the hostile mobs.
  • Big Bad: For the first two videos. He caused the downfall of the kingdom in "Fallen Kingdom", and "Take Back the Night" is about the Son avenging it.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: The empty throne seen in "Find the Pieces" implies he was one of the leaders of the Nether invasion army, alongside the Pigman King and Wither Skeleton King.
  • Empty Chair Memorial: A throne sporting his color scheme is seen in "Find the Pieces" in the Pigman King's throne room.
  • Glowing Eyes of Doom: His white eyes are given a noticeable glow in the animation.
  • In the Hood: Wears a black hood over his head, further adding to the "dark lord" vibe.
  • Monster Lord: Commands the hostile mobs on the Overworld.
    Pigman King
The ruler of the Pigmen in the Nether and the one in charge of the Nether invasion army.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: For the first two animations. It's shown that Herobrine was in league with him, and the reasons for his assault on the kingdom were likely due to him wanting to harness the Ender Dragon for the Nether invasion.
  • Non-Action Big Bad: He leads the Nether forces, but stays within his castle and never fights himself.
    Pigman General
The commander of the Nether army.
  • Batman Gambit: His plan in "Find the Pieces" is the create the Wither in the Overworld and leave it to the Son to defeat it for him, then swoop in to claim the Nether Star it drops.
  • Dragon-in-Chief: He serves the Pigman King, but is the one who devises the plan to obtain the Nether Star in "Find the Pieces" and the one who leads the Nether invasion in "Dragonhearted".
  • Dual Wielding: In battle he wields a pair of golden swords, holding one in each hand.
  • Frontline General: He fights alongside his army.
