The Wannabe

"Omigosh, hi Chris! It's so incredulous to meet you! Wow, you're much shorter in real life..."

Voiced by: Sarah Gadon

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips, Team Wonder

Born and raised on a farm, Beth is a sweet girl who loves her Ma and Pa and they love her back even more. She wants everybody else to love her, too. Just ask the students at her school. In an effort to make friends, Beth constantly makes a fool of herself in front of the whole school, but is completely oblivious as to what she's doing wrong. The problem is, Beth knows how to bond with cows and chickens, but she doesn't know how to socialize with humans.

It doesn't help that her closest sibling is Big Bertha (a pig she's raised since a piglet). Big Bertha has oodles of barn yard friends, so Beth tries to emulate Bertha's social skills, but they don't always translate to the human world. (Like rolling around on the field "snorting loudly" doesn't entice others to join in... Beth found this out at the latest Football Rally.Where Beth does excel is the Arts. She's bursting with creativity. She received the Art Achievement of the Year Award for her full-scale replica of the Sphinx, made out of glue, elbow macaroni, and felt.

When Beth isn't socializing or creating, she's crushing on someone. The boys at her school usually know she likes them because she'll follow them around like an orphaned puppy and make them poster sized homemade valentines with pictures of unicorns running down the beach. They try telling her they're not interested, but that doesn't stop tenacious B. She just thinks they're being shy. Maybe one day Beth will figure it out. Let's all cross our fingers. (And let's hope she doesn't read this. She'd be soooo crushed!)

The Fame Monger

"No! This has to be a mistake! I didn't get my spin-off series yet!"

Voiced by: Carleigh Beverly

Teams: Toxic Rats, Mutant Maggots, Team Wonder

Dakota is an already rich and famous girl with a group of paparazzi constantly following her anywhere, even to the island itself. She is using Total Drama Revenge of the Island as a vehicle to get her own reality series. Unfortunately, her time on the show has caused her to mutate into a monster.

  • Abhorrent Admirer: Sam, at first. She does seem to have warmed up to him when she returned to the island in "Ice, Ice, Baby."
  • Amazonian Beauty: After she mutated and became a giant monster, Sam loved her even more, as she reminded him of a female warrior from some game. They were last seen leaving the island in the Hurl of Shame, making out.
  • Attention Whore: Played with. It is exaggerated because Dakota has her own paparazzi entourage and will resort to anything to get her own reality series, yet it is also deconstructed because Dawn states that Dakota's need for fame is really a repressed cry for love.
Dakota: Whoa! Who said you could pan away?
  • Bald Woman: She loses all of her hair in "A Mine is a Terrible Thing to Waste" after spending 40 minutes in the toxic waste mine on Chris' orders. It grows back in the next episode; however, it is bright green and a sign of her mutation.
  • Bare Your Midriff: On her sleepwear, intern outfit, and when she mutates.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: After her begging and Chris being bribed by her father, she is allowed to return to the an intern. She eventually gets reinstated as a contestant against her will when Anne Maria quits.
  • Berserk Button:
    • For photographers and video cameramen, never shift focus away from her.
    • Do not harm Sam. Ever.
  • Brainless Beauty: At first, it's justified because her family's fame, riches, and her good looks seem to have gotten her through life, but in "Runaway Model", it's deconstructed a bit when Sam asks her for fashion advice and she's positively delighted, since no one's actually asked for her advice about anything before.
  • Butt-Monkey: The inevitable result of being one of Chris' interns. Chris treats her as his personal Chew Toy.
    • She gets catapulted off the island a second time by Chris at the end of "Finders Creepers" for no reason other than sick laughs.
    • During the recap in "Backstabbers Ahoy", she gets dumped into the lake by Chef Hatchet and bitten by the mutant piranhas as a wake-up call. Later, while demonstrating the challenge, she is blown to a buoy in the middle of the lake and forced to fend off Fang.
    • In "A Mine is a Terrible Thing to Waste", she loses all her hair after spending too much time in the toxic mine shaft and is later forced back into the game after Anne Maria quits.
    • Then, in "The Treasure Island of Dr. McLean", her prior exposures to radiation lead to an Incredible Hulk-esque transformation.
  • Composite Character: She has Lindsay's personality traits combined with Ezekiel's poor performance; see Suspiciously Similar Substitute below.
  • Crocodile Tears: She, to an extent, gives them in a confessional after the mutated squirrel incident in the first episode.
Dakota: (sobbing) Chris is the meanest ever!! (stops sobbing) Hang on. (takes out her compact and checks her makeup) Not too blotchy. Okay, take two. (puts away her compact, clears her throat, then resumes sobbing)
  • Cute, but Cacophonic
  • Cute Monster Girl: How Sam views her after her mutation.
  • Daddy's Girl
  • Determinator: She hang glides back to Camp Wawanakwa in order to get more camera time.
  • Drama Queen
  • Dumb Blonde
  • Fallen Princess
  • The Fashionista: She gives Sam fashion advice in "Runaway Model". Also, she aspires to become a fashion model after Total Drama.
  • Fate Worse than Death:
    • She viewed her "internship" with Chris as such.
    • She initially views her mutation as such, but it is subverted when Sam still accepted her for it; in fact, he states that he likes her more because of it.
  • Freaky Is Cool:
    • She finds the mutant squirrel cute, wanting one as a pet, at least until it tried to kill her with its Eye Beams.
    • Dakota is initially worried that Sam will lose interest in her once he finds out about her mutation, but when they actually meet up he assures Dakota that he still adores her, and that he thinks her mutation just makes her more awesome. This is also brought up in an exclusive All-Stars clip that's only in Polish.
  • Friendless Background: A likely reason behind her fame mongering. In a confessional, she states that she has to start the "friending" process with Zoey after Sam was eliminated.
  • Hates the Job, Loves the Limelight: Especially during her time as an intern.
  • Hellish Pupils: Her eyes become red vertical slits after her mutation.
  • Humanoid Abomination: As of "Treasure island of Dr. McLean".
  • Hulk Speak: After her transformation.
  • Idol Singer: One of her aspirations in life after Total Drama.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved: According to Dawn reading her aura, this is all Dakota wants. Judging by the latter's reaction, it's true.
  • In-Series Nickname: Sam and Chris call her the Dakotazoid after she mutates.
  • The Intern: The only contestant (so far) to become one. She lasted from "Ice Ice Baby" until "A Mine is a Terrible Thing to Waste" when Chris reinstates her as a contestant, much to her chagrin.
  • It's All About Me: Her reason for coming back to Camp Wawanakwa after her first elimination.
Dakota: I just want camera time. People need to see more of my sparkly adorableness if I'm going to get my spin-off reality series.
  • Literal Metaphor: In her audition tape, she says that after she's done with Total Drama, she'll be "the biggest thing ever". She did become the biggest thing ever after her mutation.
  • The Load: Her posing for the paparazzi made her a legitimate liability, costing her team the challenge in "Truth or Laser Shark". However, this is averted in "The Treasure Island of Dr. McLean", where she saves her teammates from Fang and a mutated alligator courtesy of her new found mutant Super Strength.
  • Lonely Rich Kid: See I Just Want to Be Loved
  • Magic Pants: Along with a Magic Top, as she mutates.
  • Mauve Shirt: While she was an intern.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: Given her starlet attitude and rich daddy Mr. Milton, Dakota seems to be based on Paris Hilton.
  • Not a Morning Person: As revealed in "Truth or Laser Shark".
Dakota: I haven't had enough beauty sleep.
Sam: Come on, you look... (Dakota takes off her sunglasses, revealing her baggy and bloodshot eyes) GREAT SUNS OF ORION!
  • Paparazzi: She has an entourage of them on speed-dial before Chris took away her cell phone. Also, after Dakota becomes an intern, Chris puts a restraining order against her entourage.
  • Pink Means Feminine: Her online bio states that her favourite colour is "pink, pink, pink", and her regular outfit consists of a pink tube top, pink ballet flats, and magenta pants.
  • Power Nullifier: She wears a bracelet, Jack Skellington gave to her, to keep her in human form as long as she wears it.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Subverted, as she still retains her nice personality after her mutation.
  • Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense
  • Screw the Rules, My Daddy Has Money!: See Be Careful What You Wish For.
  • Serious Business: She treats having her picture taken as such.
  • She's Got Legs: Though she doesn't show them off, Dakota may have the longest legs of any female contestant. After mutating, though, she is now the tallest contestant in Total Drama history.
  • Stock Scream: She gives off a horror film scream after she coughs up mud in "Truth or Laser Shark". In fact, it is the same exact scream used in the slasher film that the original cast were viewing in "Hook, Line, and Screamer".
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute:
    • Personality-wise, she is very similar to Lindsay.
    • Her performance in Revenge in the Island is similar to Ezekiel's performance in World Tour. In their respective seasons, both were eliminated very early on, insisted on their return to the show after their elimination, and transformed into horrible monsters; however, Dakota retains her humanity for the most part, while Ezekiel becomes an feral, greed-driven monster.
  • Third-Person Person: Occurs in "The Treasure Island of Dr. McLean", after she mutates.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: How she feels towards Chris, declaring him a dead man after his mistreatment of her in "A Mine is a Terrible Thing to Waste" when she loses all her hair and is reinstated as a contestant. The feeling becomes stronger as she mutates in the following episode.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: Despite being mutated and eliminated, she hooks up with Sam at the end of "The Treasure Island of Dr. McLean".
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: With Sam, after her transformation.
  • Too Dumb to Live: She tries to pet the mutant squirrel in the first episode of Revenge of the Island.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: After her mutation.
  • Tsurime Eyes
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: After turning into a giant human mutant.

The Sweet Girl

"Oh my gosh, Sadie, look. It's a summer camp!"

Voiced by: Stephanie Anne Mills

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Bass, Team Wonder

Katie was raised in the small town of Twig Harbour - Sadie's bio. Actually, if you want know anything about Katie, just see Sadie's bio. They know absolutely everything about each other. And why? They're practically the same person.

Katie thinks that their experience on Total Drama Island is going to be great for them. It'll really bring them closer together as friends, although it's hard to imagine how that's humanly possible since they already do EVERYTHING together.

They even have the same summer job. Every summer they make their own ice cream and sell it at the pier. Their most popular flavor is Spumindi Lauper. (That's because Katie - just like Sadie - has a ginormous passion for all things 80's!) It was actually Sadie's idea to start their own business.

While Katie thinks with her heart, Sadie thinks with her head. Together, they complete each other. If Katie starts a sentence, Sadie is sure to finish. They love all the same things, including each other. Katie love to sew and makes all of their outfits from scratch (that's right, she sews Sadie's clothes too - duh! how else could they match?)

Katie and her best pal Sadie love stay positive and are too busy being creative to let anything bother them. And thank goodness, because if it did, their sweet little hearts couldn't take it.

The Sister With 'Tude
"Whassup ya'll, Leshawna's in da house!"

Voiced by: Novie Edwards

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Screaming Gafers, Team Victory, Team Wonder

Leshawna is one bootylicious shortie! She is large and in charge and everyone else might as well pack it up and go home 'cause she came to win. She is as street-smart as they come but put her in the woods and the girl is like a fish out of water.

Back home she can often be found strutting the halls at her school, rolling with her girlfriends and giving anyone who throws attitude her way all kinds of trouble. While most know better than to be gettin' all up in her bizness, there's always some clown who didn't get the memo.

What Leshawna lacks in social graces, she more than makes up for in community service. She's a natural born leader, so she's always on the look out for troubled teens, which is why she volunteers three times a week at The Community Centre. To them, Leshawna's like a big sister. It's a role she enjoys since she wants to make sure they stay out of trouble and off the streets.

And like her high school homies, her surrogate siblings learned pretty quick that they can't pull one over on their Big Sistah! When one of them used her do-rag as a dishrag, Leshawna taught him a valuable lesson of how to check himself before he wrecked himself.

The Dumb Princess

"Uh, Kyle? Can I have the cabin with the lake view because I'm the prettiest?"

Voiced by: Stephanie Anne Mills

Teams: Screaming Gophers, Killer Grips, Team Victory, Heroic Hamsters, Team Wonder

Lindsay is proof that life is easy when you're drop dead gorgeous but to be fair, Mother Nature balanced things by making her as sharp as a frosted cupcake. She's also a Daddy's girl...and Daddy makes a lot of money. When he's not spending time taking care of this vintage Ferrari, he lavishes his "little chipmunk" with whatever her heart desires. Lindsay's Sweet Sixteen party cost more than your house.

Lindsay doesn't have much in the way of plans for her future. She just wants to spend all her waking hours prettying herself up for any cute guy who's willing to give her all of his attention.

Her hobbies include primping, preening, plucking and posing in any nearby mirror to make sure she's still stunning. Lindsay also loves to chat on the phone, on-line, or to whoever will listen. Generally speaking, anything that isn't too demanding for her brain.

Lindsay is surprisingly athletic - MVP on her high school gymnastics team. (And she looks sooo cute in the outfit!) Her teammates have to admit Lindsay's not just pretty - she's pretty nice too (like a can of soda, sugary sweet and effervescent). Because of this, her mother fears Lindsay will be taken advantage of by 'stronger' personalities.

Usually Lindsay doesn't like things like "work", or "dirt", or "working in the dirt", but when she found out about the auditions for Total Drama Island she couldn't resist being on TV so that her gorgeousness could be shared with millions of people. If nothing else, Lindsay is generous.

  • Accidental Misnaming: A very prominent running gag is that she constantly mispronounces other characters' names, especially if the person in question is her boyfriend Tyler, where she sometimes gets it outright wrong, much to his dismay.
  • Backstabbing the Alpha Bitch: In "If You Can't Take The Heat...", she helps Leshawna and Beth lock Heather in the walk-in freezer. Lindsay does let Heather out, and she forgives Lindsay; however, Heather threatened to shave Lindsay's hair off if she ever betrayed her authority again.
  • Balloon Belly: She gets one after stuffing herself with bananas in "The Am-AH-Zon Race".
  • Bare Your Midriff
  • Beauty Equals Goodness
  • Book Dumb
  • Bowdlerization: The American airing of her famous cursing scene was re-dubbed by the original actress... very badly.
  • Brainless Beauty
  • Catchphrase: A very distinctive sounding "Ohhhhh!" when someone explains something to her or she has a major realization.
  • The Chick: For the Screaming Gophers and Killer Grips.
  • Cluster Bleep-Bomb: Her telling off Heather in "That's Off the Chain!".
  • The Cutie
  • Daddy's Girl: According to her Island bio.
  • Damsel in Distress: Gets kidnapped by Sasquatchanakwa in "Runaway Model".
  • The Ditz
Justin: Which way do we go?
Lindsay: North is nice, but east is least... West is best!
Leshawna: Can't argue with that. Wouldn't even know how to!
  • Dumb Blonde: Although she isn't a real blonde as you can tell by her eyebrows. One of the specials confirms her former non-blonde status.
  • Dumb Is Good: Her tension with Courtney and Heather really emphasizes this, but aside from those two, she is friends with just about everyone else on the show.
  • Expy: Of Caitlin Cooke and Karen Smith.
  • Flanderization: In All-Stars, she forgot how to push
  • Forgetful Jones: She's terrible at remembering names.
  • Former Friend of Alpha Bitch: Unlike Heather, Lindsay originally believed their alliance was a genuine friendship.
  • Gag Boobs: Though they're not really focused on, apart from her sometimes being unable to button or zip up certain tops.
  • Genki Girl
  • The Heart: For Team Victory; overlaps more and more with The Lancer as the team dwindles in number. Even after the team had lost half its members, she did her best to keep DJ and Leshawna from giving up. And after Leshawna was eliminated, she still pep-talked DJ enough that they worked together and scored their first actual win.
  • Hidden Depths: Rare occasions will show that there's more to her than just a pretty face. She displays a surprising amount of skill at water-skiing in "X-Treme Torture" and successfully solves the murder mystery in "Get a Clue".
  • Hollywood Tone-Deaf: Played incredibly straight in "Rock N' Rule," although she gets much better by World Tour.
  • Informed Deformity: Her ordinary-looking feet are supposedly so big that she can barely fit a glass slipper onto her toe in "The Princess Pride".
  • Innocent Blue Eyes
  • Impossible Hourglass Figure
  • Kindhearted Simpleton
  • Lethal Chef: She attempts to prepare blowfish and ends up poisoning Trent by mistake. He got better, but still.
  • Little Black Dress: She sports one during her solo in "What's Not to Love", although it's not actually colored black due to the song's Art Shift. It also serves as a Shout-Out to Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's.
  • Minion with an F in Evil
  • Ms. Fanservice
  • Nice Girl
  • Nice Hat: She is usually seen with something in her hair. Most of the time, it's her blue bandanna.
  • Pink Means Feminine: With some of her alternate outfits such as her sleepwear and her lioncloth in "One Million Bucks, BC".
  • The Pollyanna
  • Popular Is Dumb
  • Rousing Speech: Gives one in "Full Metal Drama" to get the team to try harder in the war challenge.
  • Sarcasm-Blind
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: To Courtney in Action.
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: She gets focused on a good bit because of her conflicts with Heather in Island and Courtney in Action.
  • Stupid Boss: She appoints herself team leader partway through the second season. Her competence varied between certain episodes, but her ditziness remained a constant.
  • Too Dumb to Live: She accidentally eliminates herself in Action and in All Stars.
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: Seems to get dumber with each passing season.
  • Unlimited Wardrobe: She's worn more outfits than any other contestant in the franchise.

The Sweet Girl's Friend

"I always wanted to go to a summer camp! Eeeeeeeee!"

Voiced by: Lauren Lipson

Teams: Killer Bass, Team Wonder

Sadie can't believe she was selected for Total Drama Island. She's never been a part of anything cool - ever!

Raised in the small town of Twig Harbour, Sadie's never done anything too exciting either. The only thing that Sadie gets totally excited about is hanging out with Katie, her best friend in the whole world (wait... make that whole wide universe!)

From the moment they as next-door neighbors, it was friend-crush at first sight and they've been inseparable ever since. Sadie's room is filled with pictures of her and Katie, and every picture has oodles of the little hearts drawn around them, because that's how much she loves her!

So when Sadie heard that Katie wanted to auditions for Total Drama Island, Sadie wanted audition with. There was no way she was going to miss out on something that her best friend (wait... make that BFF! ... no, BFF in the whole wide universe, squared!), was going to be a part of. Because if Katie got picked she'd be gone all summer and there was no way Sadie could have survived that long with her! It would be like losing a leg. (No, that's not it - you can live without a leg.) It would be like losing her heart. (Awwww... that's so cute, she loves hearts.)

So now Sadie can't wait start their adventure! That's is going to be that bestest summer ever, with her bestest friend, in the bestest universe, ever!

Shana is the younger twin sister of Shane.

At a very young age, Shana was bullied by the kids back on elementary school, because of her childish behavior and playing with dolls and never had any human friends. However, her twin brother, Shane was always here to protect her.

She and her twin brother, Shane auditioned for Total Drama Island because they would enjoy a summer camp together. Also, Shana would make new friends.
