Phantom CIC

    In General
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Their ranks consist of two former church knights (Lots and Lidica), a runaway noble (Bellona), a fugitive (Sez), a merchant's daughter (Rin), and the mercenary who leads them (Aramintha). Despite how oddly matched they are, they're damned effective as a group.
  • True Companions: As diverse as they are, they regard themselves as a family, and heaven help anybody who dares to hurt any of them.
  • Who You Gonna Call?: The Phantom CIC specialize in investigating or dealing with the "Unknown" creatures.

    Lots

Lots Greenwood

"Come on everyone!"
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/epic_seven_lots.png
Voiced by: Elijah Nelson (English), Daiki Yamashita (Japanese)
Rarity: 4★
Element: Earth
Class: Soul Weaver
Zodiac Sign: Gemini

An ex-member of the Order of the Blue Cross, Lots studied healing magic in Reingar, hoping to test his abilities and set off to a journey of finding a rare magical item.

  • The Baby of the Bunch: He's the youngest member of the group, and Aramintha in particular takes him under her wing.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Like Aither, it's easy to mistake Lots for a girl, especially during the 2019 Summer event where the title screen shows him in a Sexy Backless Outfit.
  • Idiot Hair: Has a cowlick in the upper-left part of his hair.
  • Orwellian Retcon: Rin and Lots were initially listed under Ritania, but were later moved into the Land of Death tab under the "Phantom CIC" section.
  • The Rival: Shares this dynamic with Clarissa.

    Sez

Sez Gaien

"Give up any hope of making it back alive."
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/epic_seven_sez.png
The Berserker
Voiced by: Ray Chase (English), Tomoaki Maeno (Japanese)
Rarity: 5★
Element: Ice
Class: Thief
Zodiac Sign: Scorpio

A living weapon known as the Berserker.

  • Area of Effect:
    • His passive, "Encroach", is an extra Area of Effect attack that triggers if the enemy’s health is less than 50% after he attacks them with "Dark Shadow".
    • If an enemy dies from his ultimate move, "Conviction", Sez inflicts additional damage to all enemies.
  • Badass Longcoat: Sez wears a pitch black coat with a dark checkerboard pattern on the inside.
  • Big Eater: He really likes food. Bellona even claims that she tamed him by giving Food as Bribe.
  • Morality Chain: According to Aramintha, Bellona is the reason why Sez doesn't act so rabid than expected for someone known as the Berserker.
  • The Most Wanted: Sez was branded a mass murderer after he escaped the Homunculus experiments. Some were even sent to assassinate him.
  • Mr. Fanservice: His summer attire makes him go topless.
  • Red Baron: "The Berserker"
  • The Rival: Kiris has been sent to assassinate him, and it's implied that Sez won't let her live the next time they meet.
  • Shapeshifter Weapon: Sez's magical arm can transform into weapons as he pleases, such as a blade for his basic attacks, or a grappling hook for his ultimate move's initial strike.
  • Ship Tease: With Bellona.

    Lidica

Lidica Asin

"This is where the real fight begins!"
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/epic_seven_lidica.png
Voiced by: Amanda Leighton (English), Emiri Katou (Japanese)
Rarity: 5★
Element: Fire
Class: Ranger
Zodiac Sign: Virgo

A fencer of the Phantom CIC.

  • Battle Ballgown: Lidica's outfit can be simply described as an armored dress.
  • Butt-Monkey: Enott hated Lidica so much that he framed her and had her kicked out of the Rose Apostles. Fortunately, the Phantom CIC were there to recruit her.
  • Childhood Friends: Jena and Lidica are best friends since childhood.
  • Fragile Speedster: She's one of the fastest units in the game. Her kit is all about hindering the enemies overall ability to do damage by reducing their Combat Readiness (In fact, she's the only character with 100% Combat Readiness reduction), reducing their hit chance, or negating damage taken for one turn. Unfortunately, she's not that tanky without supportive buffs, so if she got outsped or focused on, she won't last long.
  • Hot-Blooded: She's hot-tempered, and her rough personality sometimes causes problems within the Phantom CIC.
  • No-Sell: Lidica's ultimate skill, "Public Execution", also grants her the Skull Nullifier buff that makes her immune from the next skill attack.
  • Ojou Ringlets: Well, just look at her.
  • Simple, yet Awesome: Her skillset is straightforward when it comes to decreasing the enemies' Combat Readiness, Hit Chance and Speed. Essentially, she's a good unit to stall the opposition in PVP, while damaging them and subtly giving more turns for her team.
  • Something about a Rose: Rose petals appear to surround her whenever she attacks, especially during her third skill's animation. In fact, a rose can also be seen on her collar.
  • Whip Sword: This is her weapon, with the typical variant where the blade is segmented and extendable.

    Aramintha
"Should I turn them to ash?"
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/epic_seven_aramintha.png
Leader of the Phantom CIC
Voiced by: Sumalee Montano (English), Takako Honda (Japanese)
Rarity: 5★
Element: Fire
Class: Mage
Zodiac Sign: Gemini

The gentle and cheerful leader of the Phantom CIC.

  • Anti-Regeneration: She can inflict the Unhealable status to the enemies with her second skill if they are already inflicted with the Burn debuff.
  • A Mother to Her Men: She is like this to the rest of the Phantom CIC. Sometimes she gets upset over how childlish some of them are, especially Rin or Lidica.
  • Artificial Limbs: Her left foot is a prosthetic, just notice the difference compared to her normal leg, especially the ball joint.
  • Badass Fingersnap: All of her spellcasting are invoked by fingersnaps.
  • Coat Cape: A red coat is worn this way on her shoulders.
  • Commonality Connection: Rin and Aramintha are close to each other because both of them lost somebody precious on the same day.
  • Cooldown Manipulation: After her skill Awakening, her basic attack would decrease the cooldown of her "Fire Pillar" skill by 1 turn for each use.
  • Expy: Aramintha is a reference to Fullmetal Alchemist and serves as an expy of two characters from that manga. She creates fiery explosions by snapping her fingers... just like Roy Mustang, and she has a metallic prosthetic limb, just like Edward Elric.
  • Navel Window: Her outfit leaves this kind of opening.
  • Playing with Fire: Fire magic is her specialty.
  • Simple, yet Awesome: She specializes in inflicting the Burn debuff to her enemies and her second skill, "Catalyst", deals bonus damage to all enemies while increasing the attack of her team.
  • The Leader: Of Phantom CIC.
  • The Lost Lenore: She lost her husband to the Unknown, which is a driving factor for her Phantom CIC team to investigate those creatures. Also, she often brags about her husband when she's not in battle.
  • Team Mom: As the Older and Wiser mercenary to a group of young misfits, she naturally falls into the role.

    Rin

Rin Gamod

"Should I show you one more dance?"
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/e7_rin.png
Voiced by: Tiffany Espensen (English), Chika Anzai (Japanese)
Rarity: 4★
Element: Earth
Class: Soul Weaver
Zodiac Sign: Virgo

  • Dance Battler: She wears a revealing outfit and she mostly just dances when using her skills.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Rin is a female Suin, so she has animal ears on the top of her head.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Brought about by her dancing outfits in both versions.
  • Orwellian Retcon: Rin and Lots were initially listed under Ritania, but were later moved into the Land of Death tab under the "Phantom CIC" section.
  • Rings of Death: She throws around those golden rings against her enemies.

    Bellona

Bellona Moune

"Can you hold out for more?"
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/epic_seven_bellona.png
Noble Lady of Ezera
Voiced by: Fryda Wolff (English), Ayako Kawasumi (Japanese)
Rarity: 5★
Element: Earth
Class: Ranger
Zodiac Sign: Capricorn

A noble lady from Ezera.

  • A Day in the Limelight: She's the starring character in the "Two Keys to Freedom" side story event.
  • Arranged Marriage: She was arranged to marry prince Aither for her family political gain but she run away and joined the Phantom CIC.
  • The Ace: She is easily the most powerful member of Phantom CIC according to Aramintha, who noted that "even" Bellona was unable to defeat Straze, indicating that she was supposed to be the trump card.
  • Blow You Away: She uses her fan for this, especially when using her third skill as a large orb of wind can just pop up at her command.
  • Combat Hand Fan: Bellona uses her fans to conjure wind that damages her enemies.
  • Cultured Badass: She's considered a high-class woman with a successful education, and it shows on how she claims to be good in parties and festivities.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Even Bellona was no match for Straze, although she most likely performed much better against him than the rest of her team.
  • Every Proper Lady Should Curtsy: Somehow invoked by her artwork pictured above, she's not just lifting that skirt for fanservice you know.
  • Food as Bribe: She believes that she can "tame" Sez with food.
  • Kicking Ass in All Her Finery: One of the strongest heroic characters in this story, and always wearing an elegant gown (unless she's at the beach).
  • Lady of War: A former noble who's also a powerful witch with a specialty in both wind and water magic.
  • Mana Meter: She has a Focus meter mechanic that when full at 5 stacks, her basic attack, "Windbreak Fan", would be automatically followed-up by her ultimate attack, "Razorwind Fan".
  • Marriage of Convenience: Her parents arranged her to be wed to Aither so that when the boy would become the King of Ezera, the Moune family could control him and become the most powerful noble family in the kingdom.
  • Morality Chain: According to Aramintha, Bellona is the reason why Sez doesn't act so rabid than expected for someone known as the Berserker.
  • Pimped-Out Dress: Bellona wears a nice, frilly, long and elegant dress.
  • Razor Wind: Using her fan, she can conjure up winds that slice through just about anything.
  • Royal Blood: She's the daughter of a noble Ezeran family.
  • Ship Tease: With Sez.
  • Situational Damage Attack: Her second skill, "Butterfly Fan", deals more damage the more enemies are on the opposite side.
  • Sphere of Destruction: Her third skill creates a spherical wind explosion.
  • Stronger Than They Look: At first, Aramintha thinks that Bellona is just a burden to the Phantom CIC, but she proved herself to be stronger than anyone in the team.
  • The Worf Effect: The most powerful member of Phantom CIC is still unable to defeat Straze, even when working with her whole team plus Watcher Schuri and Assassin Cartuja, and Straze is only able to use a tiny fraction of his true strength.

    Seaside Bellona

Bellona Moune

"I'm getting tired of you... Bye bye now!"
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/epic_seven_seaside_bellona.png
Voiced by: Fryda Wolff (English), Ayako Kawasumi (Japanese)
Rarity: 5★
Element: Water
Class: Ranger
Zodiac Sign: Gemini

The Ace of Phantom CIC relaxing in the resort while helping Karin cope with the influx of summer visitors.

  • Adjective Noun Fred: Her name is written in this syntax to differentiate from her regular version.
  • Counter-Attack: Unique to her (so far) is that she has a built-in counterattack as part of her second skill. If your team gets hit by an enemy attack whenever her Focus bar is at 5, she will automatically unleash an Area of Effect counterattack that has a chance to cause a Decrease Defense effect. Her Focus bar recharges in the same way as Bellona did, but with an added effect that if an enemy attacks a member your team, the bar also adds by 1. This effect stacks, which mean you can potentially gain four of these if your team gets hit by an AOE attack.
  • Damage Reduction: Seaside Bellona has a unique case of this in her passive skill wherein 30% of the frontline ally's damage taken is transferred to her instead. It's an inverted case of the trope since she reduces the damage of another ally just by being in the same party.
  • Making a Splash: Her ultimate ability is this. She creates a water stream that goes to the sky to create a fish/whale-shaped monstrosity that attacks everyone in the enemy side.
  • Mana Meter: Just like her regular version, Seaside Bellona also has a Focus meter. But this time, it's a part of her passive skill wherein she gains 1 stack of focus every time an ally is attacked. When it's full, she automatically uses an additional Area of Effect Counter-Attack.
  • Palette Swap: Downplayed. While her general sprite, main attack, and second skill have the same animations as her regular version, Seaside Bellona has a completely different skillset, element, and zodiac sign in comparison.
  • Spam Attack: Her Focus meter increases every time an ally is attacked, so an Area of Effect attack that hits her entire team can potentially give her 4 stacks immediately. This ensures that her Counter-Attack move can be launched sooner than when the enemy had used a single-target attack. Basically against enemies that love to spam their AoE attacks, Seaside Bellona can counter repeatedly even when it's not yet her intended turn.

Banshee

    In General
  • Color-Coded Elements: Amongst all other Heroes in the game, these five are the most obvious cases, with each one representing a given element, as well as having the respective color motif of it. Also notice the color of their hands.
  • Meido: Their general appearance invokes this, although with varying degrees. Among them, Mistychain's outfit is the closest to the common examples.
  • Palette Swap: Their in-game sprites share the same animations, whether they may be idle, attacking, or using their ultimate abilities.
  • Power Fist: They attack using oversized gloves with razor fingers.
  • Undeathly Pallor: All Banshees are pale-skinned.
  • Wight in a Wedding Dress: This design motif is present in one form or another among the Banshee underlings, just like their master, the Banshee Queen Rubellite.

    Carmainerose
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/epic_seven_carmainerose.png
Voiced by: Salli Saffioti (English), Reina Ueda (Japanese)
Rarity: 3★
Element: Fire
Class: Mage
Zodiac Sign: Aquarius

A blood-red Banshee reminiscent of the shriveled rose petals the day after a festival.

  • Life Drain: Her first skill gives her this. Also, one of the most common or recommended gear sets for her is Lifesteal.
  • The Rival: Ken was the first ever to defeat her, and Carmainerose vows to have her revenge one day.
  • Simple, yet Awesome: She is one of the best 3★ mages in the game. Her kit covers a lot of ground, including: a Speed debuff to enemies and Speed buff to herself, the ability to decrease Combat Readiness and remove buffs from enemies, as well as gaining Attack and Defense buffs for herself (thus making her way stronger than she looks) and some Life Drain with her first skill. She kinda falls off in the late-game meta due to her extremely low base health and speed, but even these can be remedied with good gears.
  • Status-Buff Dispel: Her ultimate move, "Daze", dispels all of the target's buffs.

    Mistychain
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/epic_seven_mistychain.png
Cold-Blooded Banshee
Voiced by: Abby Trott (English), Reina Ueda (Japanese)
Rarity: 3★
Element: Ice
Class: Mage
Zodiac Sign: Leo

A cold-blooded Banshee who sings songs of a passion frozen by painful betrayal.

  • Auto-Revive: If an enemy is killed by her "Life Drain" ability, the ally with the lowest health would be granted with a 2-turn Revive buff.
  • Coy, Girlish Flirt Pose: Appears to be the case in her artwork as shown above. Played straight with her "smile" and "special" expressions.
  • Girlish Pigtails: She has short pigtails on both sides of her head.
  • Life Drain: She have two skills that can heal allies based on the damage dealt. Her ultimate ability is also aptly named "Life Drain".
  • Necromancer: She can revive a fallen ally with her third skill if she gets a kill with it. It's like she drains the life force of her enemies and gives it to her ally.
  • Rescue Romance: She's implied to be romantically attached to her unexpected savior, Auxiliary Lots.
  • Sibling Rivalry: With Carmainerose. The feeling is mutual
  • Simple, yet Awesome: One of the better 3★ mages. Her main strength lies in her ability to both deal damage to enemies and sustain her allies. She is also quite good in Wyvern Hunts because she can contribute 2 useful debuffs and heal your tank while doing damage to the wyvern at the same time.

    Pearlhorizon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/epic_seven_pearlhorizon.png
Quiet Banshee
Voiced by: Tiffany Espensen (English), Reina Ueda (Japanese)
Rarity: 3★
Element: Earth
Class: Mage
Zodiac Sign: Taurus

A quiet Banshee who sings songs of malice that flow slowly like dust.

  • Cleavage Window: Her dress exposes a bit of her bust.
  • Commonality Connection: Haste and Pearlhorizon get along very well and meet often because they share the same goal.
  • Idiot Hair: Has one strand sticking out on the top of her head.
  • Situational Damage Attack: Her ultimate skill, "Nightmare", deals extra damage if the enemy was inflicted with the Sleep debuff.

    Gloomyrain
"My confidence..."
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/epic_seven_gloomyrain.png
Voiced by: Joy Osmanski (English), Reina Ueda (Japanese)
Rarity: 3★
Element: Light
Class: Mage
Zodiac Sign: Cancer

A Banshee who sings rumors in foggy ruins.

  • Cleavage Window: Her dress shows this as well.
  • Commonality Connection: Gloomyrain hates hairy creatures, and she likes Yuna for understanding this.
  • Dissonant Serenity: She finds Baal a fun person to be with since she's interested in turning somebody into a doll and carry it around just like what Baal does with Sezan.
  • Extra Turn: Her basic skill, "Wall", gives her a small chance for an extra turn after attacking the enemy.
  • Impossibly-Low Neckline: Unlike most of her fellow Banshees, Gloomyrain's dress doesn't seem to be attached to her shoulders.
  • This Looks Like a Job for Aquaman: Gloomyrain's entire skillset is built around against debuffers since she gains additional effects to her first and second skills whenever she's inflicted with a debuff, while her ultimate skill, "Soul Destruction", allows her to transfer debuffs to the enemy before dispelling them from her.

    Requiemroar
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/epic_seven_requiemroar.png
Crazed Banshee
Voiced by: Amanda Philipson (English), Reina Ueda (Japanese)
Rarity: 3★
Element: Dark
Class: Soul Weaver
Zodiac Sign: Sagittarius

A crazed Banshee who sings a song of brutal murder and mourning.

  • Cleavage Window: Much more so that the other Banshees, especially when her artwork's angle makes this more apparent.
  • Coy, Girlish Flirt Pose: Just like Mistychain, this is Requiemroar's pose in her artwork.
  • Life Drain: Putting Requiemroar in the party heals all allies based on the damage they deal to enemies.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: Despite being classified as a Soul Weaver (a class that usually applies to team healers), she has no active skills for healing. Instead, two of her skills are basically offensive, and her third skill can inflict Decrease Defense, making her target softer. The "healing" part of her utility comes from her second skill which passively heal allies base on the damage they deal. If they get a kill, they get healed more and have their Combat Readiness increased, allowing them to have more turns.
  • Troll: Requiemroar always makes fun of, and startles Gloomyrain, which is why the latter dislikes her.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: At least from her own perspective, Requiemroar bugs Gloomyrain so much simply because she likes her.
  • Widow's Weeds: Among the five, Requiemroar's outfit closely resembles a funeral dress.
