The Rainbooms

    Sunset Shimmer
The leader of the Rainbooms. Represents the Element of Guidance.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: A major problem in her relationship with Twilight is her inability to tell her how she feels.
  • Can't Hold Her Liquor: As demonstrated when Dominator takes her to a bar.
  • Mama Bear: In the "Calamitous Card Game" Arc, Sunset was pissed at Sagacious when she saw Gamma out cold, having lost a "duel" with Sagacious, only calming down when Sagacious forces her to play "duel monsters" After their match and when Gamma wakes up from sleep mode, Sunset gives Sagacious a HARD punch to his eye.
  • The Heart: How Crydius (the author) describes her Element: she's the one who best understands the feelings and problems of others, and the one who usually guides her friends to a solution in a crisis.
  • Teen Genius: Managed to build a fully-functioning robot with a complex AI while still a teenager (in her current world, at least).
  • Wide Eyes and Shrunken Irises: In the first page of the "Calamitous card game" arc when Apple Bloom comes running up yelling that something terrible's happened to GAMMA, right after Sunset thinks to herself that she needs to keep an eye on GAMMA and make sure nothing bad happens to her.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Hoo boy. She slew a demon creature with a flagpole because Twilight was being threatened!
    Twilight Sparkle
The Twilight Sparkle of the human world and Sunset's girlfriend. Represents the Element of Magic.
  • Lethal Chef: Once baked cookies for a book club meeting that had adverse reactions on everyone who tried them...except, oddly enough, Sunset.
  • Oblivious to Love: Initially this to Sunset's feelings for her.
  • Teen Genius: She managed to build a robot with a complex AI, a plasma cannon, and a number of impressive features while still a teenager.
    Rainbow Dash
A jock with a low tolerance for sappy couples. Represents the Element of Loyalty.
  • Book Dumb: It’s demonstrated repeatedly that she’s not great with school, and she's failed at least one test onscreen. It certainly doesn't help that Sunset and Twilight distract her when she does try to study.
  • Butt-Monkey: The most likely member of the Rainbooms to suffer some sort of injury in any given comic.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Has trouble admitting her feelings for Fluttershy.
  • Hypocrite: Hates seeing couples acting sweet towards each other, but she often acts the same way with Fluttershy. She realizes this.
  • Only Sane Man: Sees herself as this to all the romantic drama.
  • Passionate Sports Girl: Proudly brags about her accomplishments on the track team. Leads to her tripping on a rock and crashing both times.
  • Ship Tease: With Fluttershy. Eventually, they get together.
    Fluttershy
Rainbow Dash's constant companion. Represents the Element of Kindness.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Wishes that a cardinal and blue jay that she and Rainbow had rescued could stay with her (since she was in the school dorms where no pets are allowed due to her parents being out of town) when unknowingly holding a "Macaque's Paw" (which grants a wish but with an ironic or comedic twist). The result? The two of them become human girls.
  • Nice Girl: The sweetest member of the Rainbooms, befitting of her Element.
  • Shipper on Deck: For Sunset/Twilight.
  • Ship Tease: With Rainbow Dash. [[Spoiler:Eventually, they get together]].
  • Satellite Character: Rarely appears in a comic without Rainbow Dash.
    Pinkie Pie
A cheerful, hyperactive girl. Represents the Element of Laughter.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Dominator takes advantage of this trait of hers during the Flag Hunt arc.
  • Genki Girl: Fun-loving and hyperactive.
  • Out of Focus: Along with Rarity and Applejack, she gets far less focus than other characters in the comic. For instance, she's currently the only Rainboom with no Ship Tease with anyone.
  • Supreme Chef: Her culinary skills are enough that Crydius was willing to wear a dress rather than miss out on a party she provided the food for (the site he rented from mixed up his and Tempest's sizes).
    Applejack
Represents the Element of Honesty.
    Rarity
Represents the Element of Generosity.
    GAMMA
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gamma_portrait.png
The robotic daughter of Sunset and Twilight, who was created after a night of drunk science.
    Swiftly and Serenity
A cardinal and bluejay, respectively, that got changed by an Equestrian artifact that Chara stole from Crydius, only for Fluttershy to find it and wish that the two of them could stay with her.
  • Generation Xerox: They each take after one of their "mothers". Swiftly takes after Rainbow, being athletic and full of energy, while Serenity takes after Fluttershy in being more quiet and withdrawn.
  • Humanity Ensues: Thanks to Fluttershy wishing that the two of then could stay with her while she was touching the Macaque's Paw, they both become human girls around the apparent age of GAMMA.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Swiftly, the red one, is energetic and athletic, Serenity, the blue one, is withdrawn and a bookworm.

The Hellraisers

    Crydius Cromwell
The leader of the Hellraisers. He represents the Element of Manipulation.
  • Adaptational Heroism: He originally debuted in another comic of the author's as the manipulative, monstrous Big Bad. While he's still manipulative, his villainy has been toned down to more "high school evil" levels here.
  • Amazon Chaser: Is in a relationship with the human Tempest Shadow, who is taller than him and capable of kicking serious butt.
  • Author Avatar: To Crydius, the writer of the comic.
  • Balance Between Good and Evil: He's obsessed with balancing things between his group and the Rainbooms, which is why he manipulated Catra and Adora to make sure one of them would join his side.
  • Big Bad: As the leader of the main antagonistic faction, he's this.
  • Blood Magic: Uses this to create Eldritch.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Comes with being the Only Sane Man.
  • Deuteragonist: Serves as this during the "Love Advice" Arc.
  • Dope Slap: Delivers a LOT of these during the "Love Advice" Arc. Crona, Marshall, Dominator & Sunset herself can all testify.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Sunset Shimmer, as Manipulation is the bane of Guidance.
  • Facepalm: When Twilight confesses to Sunset she needs help with...cellular biology.
  • For the Evulz: Seems to be his motivation for causing trouble during the Flag Hunt arc.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Okay, yeah, he's a dick, but he did go out of his way to help Sunset and Twilight with their relationship issues.
  • Lez Bro: He unintentionally becomes one to a number of Canterlot High's lesbians at the end of "Love Advice", after they hear about the good relationship advice he gave Sunset. He scrams.
  • Manipulative Bastard: It's his Element. More specifically, he manipulated Catra and Adora so that one of them would be on his side.
  • Oh, My Gods!: Uses Kos in place of God.
  • Only Sane Man: To the school's romantic shenanigans.
  • Original Character: One of three.
  • Parental Favoritism: Out of Eldritch's personalities, the Tzeentch-aligned one Sagacious is his favorite.
  • Surrounded by Idiots: His attitude at times.
  • Throw the Book at Them: Combined with Dope Slap, he usually hits characters with his spellbook when they're acting stupid.
    Crona
The person most often seen with Crydius. They represent the Element of Despair.
  • Abusive Parents: Simply put, their mom was not a nice woman.
  • Ambiguous Gender: Though they appear feminine, the writer prefers to keep their gender ambiguous.
  • Anti-Villain: A member of the antagonist faction, but they aren’t really antagonistic otherwise.
  • Celibate Hero: They don't believe in kissing until after marriage. That said, they do have a crush on Maka...
  • Evil Counterpart: To Pinkie Pie, as Despair is the bane of Laughter.
  • Nice Guy: They try to help Sunset when they can, and suggest sparing Fluttershy during the flag hunt because they respect her.
  • Ship Tease: Very clearly have a crush on Maka, and in "The First Date" they're scene in a crowd scene at a club with her.
  • Shrinking Violet: They're quiet and prefer not to be caught up in drama and fighting.
    Marshall Lee
A vampire, and the other person who hangs out with Crydius the most. He represents the Element of Trickery.
    Dominator
She represents the Element of Avarice.
  • Adaptational Heroism: It's safe to say that this version of the character, while still a jerk, has never destroyed a planet before.
  • The Alcoholic: Her default solution to romantic drama is "get drunk".
  • Evil Counterpart: To Rarity, as Avarice is the bane of Generosity.
  • Pet the Dog: Has a soft spot for Crona, and hugs them when they open up about their difficulties. She also helps Crona introduce themselves to Maka.
    Chara
A violent kid who looks too young to be attending high school. They represent the Element of Cruelty.
    Tempest Shadow
Crydius' girlfriend, and a transfer from Crystal Prep. She represents the Element of Destruction.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Just as snarky as her boyfriend.
  • Delinquent Hair: Wears her hair in a mohawk.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Twilight, as Destruction is the bane of Magic.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: She has a scar over her eye like her pony counterpart. She got it from one of the portals Midnight Sparkle made during the Friendship games.
  • I Love You Because I Can't Control You: Part of what first drew her attention to Crydius is that he was the only person at Crystal Prep before the Friendship Games incident to not be intimidated by her.
  • Parental Favoritism: Likes Eldritch's Khorne personality, Feral, above the others.
  • Shock and Awe: Shown with this power in side materials, but has yet to demonstrate it in the comic itself.
    Catra
She represents the Element of Betrayal.
  • All There in the Manual: She has yet to appear in the comic, and everything we know about her comes from side materials.
  • Anti-Villain: From what we can see, she's mainly being manipulated by Crydius. In the end, she goes back to Adora.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: As befitting the bearer of the Element of Betrayal. Crydius even lampshades it after her Heel–Face Turn, noting that all her betrayals were due to her ignoring her common sense and feelings due to her stubbornness and pride, so she even betrayed herself. He also posits that Betrayal is loyal to no one, even its Bearer or the other Elements.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Rainbow Dash, as Betrayal is the bane of Loyalty.
  • Heel–Face Turn: She eventually goes back to Adora, leaving the Hellraisers.
  • We Used to Be Friends: With Adora.
    Eldritch
A golem created by Crydius and Tempest Shadow to match GAMMA in power.
  • Badass Adorable: A cute kid who also happens to be imbued with the powers of the Chaos Gods.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: He's a sweet kid, but if you push his buttons, he will gladly remind you which gods were invoked in his creation.
  • Evil Counterpart: Meant to be one to GAMMA.
  • Harmless Villain: Oh, he tries, but his kind nature conflicts with his attempts at villainy more often than not. While Eldritch still remains harmless, one of his marks, "Sagacious" manages to look through Sunset's memories & learn everything in them.
  • Lethal Chef: Invoked, after tasting GAMMA's cooking he becomes fairly impressed by how awful it is, and asks her to teach him to some success, as a tribute to Nurgle.
  • Nice Guy: He’s a pretty sweet kid.
  • Ship Tease:
    • Eldritch himself, despite being made to be an Evil Counterpart to GAMMA, has gotten some tease with her, like how he likes her cooking, just like Sunset with Twilight.
    • The Slaanesh personality, "Ardent", has shown no small amount of affection towards Apple Bloom.
  • Split Personality: He has a different personality for each of the Warhammer Chaos Gods, which are aware of each other but don't seem to share any memories, feelings or thoughts. The "default" persona Eldritch is aligned with Nurgle due to his kind nature, but he also has a Slaanesh personality called "Ardent" who comes out when someone he cares about is in danger, a Khorne personality named "Feral" when he comes into contact with violence, and "Sagacious" the Tzeentch personality, which comes out when he needs to do thinking and plotting.
  • Super Mode: His "marks", which are based on the Chaos Gods from Warhammer. Only one, Mark of Nurgle, has been revealed so far.
  • Unlimited Wardrobe: Ardent never seems to wear exactly the same thing in each of his appearances. This is a nod to how Slaanesh is said to never take the same form twice.
