"I think it's time we plant the seeds of a new beginning."
"It's known as Project Dreamcatcher because it's a deterrent for Dream. If Dream even lays a finger here, it's all gone. Everything."
—Tubbo
Founded by Tubbo in a northern area of the server after L'Manburg's destruction. On the surface, it's a small, largely ungoverned group of refugees seeking to live a quiet life away from the drama of the rest of the server. In reality, Snowchester is a cover for Project Dreamcatcher, a plot by Tubbo and Jack Manifold to develop nuclear weaponry to even the power imbalance of the server and secure Snowchester's independence.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: Despite having the appearance of a small, peaceful safe haven, it holds a monopoly on the server's nuclear warheads.
  • The Migration: Snowchester was founded by refugees who fled north after the final destruction of L'Manberg in the Doomsday War and is led by its former president, Tubbo.
  • Nuclear Option: The faction secretly develops nuclear missiles, which Tubbo claims would only be used as a deterrent in order to keep dangerous players like Dream and Technoblade away from Snowchester, and to allow Snowchester to form its own independence without interference.
  • Sucksessor: Downplayed. Although Snowchester was founded after the Doomsday War and L'Manburg's final destruction, and overall lacked L'Manburg's political controversy, it also lacked L'Manburg's spirit of unity and togetherness as an anchor for its members.
  • Sword of Damocles: According to Tubbo, their nuclear missiles will allow them to keep dangerous factions (like the Anarchists/Syndicate and The Eggpire) away from Snowchester.

Preferred name: Tubbo
"I'm currently going through the five stages of grief, so please be mindful. On that note, WHERE THE FUCK IS MY CHILD?!"
Tubbo was, and still is Tommy's closest friend, staying with him wherever he went. Tubbo ended up joining and fighting for L'Manberg, happily accepting the position of Secretary in Wilbur's cabinet. Tubbo would find himself in a tight situation under Manberg's rule, being named Jschlatt's third in command and helping Manberg, but conflicted over the loss of Tommy and Wilbur. Tubbo ended up as a spy on the inside for the Pogtopians (despite Wilbur's distrust) and staying by Tommy's side in secret, only leading to him being further conflicted. Jschlatt would find about this, and publicly executed Tubbo in the very festival he decorated, leading to Tubbo being forced into siding with Pogtopia. After the "end" of the war, he ended up as president of L'Manberg, and was determined to rebuild even after it's seemingly complete destruction.

As President of "New" L'Manburg, with his nation under threat by Dream and Tommy's "selfish" (at least from his view) actions putting everyone in danger, Tubbo had a falling out with his former best friend, and was forced to exile Tommy. Tubbo would come to miss Tommy greatly, and be manipulated by Dream into thinking that Dream was his friend. Tubbo, along with the rest of the Butcher Army would try and fail to execute Technoblade, and despite doubtful at first, agreed with Quackity in executing Dream at the Green Festival. He would also try to visit Tommy, but seeing Logstedshire destroyed and Tommy gone, presumed Tommy dead. Tubbo was shocked to see Tommy both alive and well but also helping Technoblade. At the Green Festival, Dream once again put L'Manberg under threat, with this time Dream backing down if Tubbo gave him one of Tommy's discs, Mellohi. Tommy would step in, and after fighting briefly, Tommy would leave Technoblade and reconcile with Tubbo. In the wake of L'Manberg's destruction, Tubbo would start a peaceful new nation in the north known as Snowchester (that secretly possessed nuclear weapons) and help Tommy get his discs back once and for all, and although almost killed by Dream ended up winning, celebrating.

Tubbo would end up growing closer and even marrying and adopting a child with Ranboo, to the point where they seemed closer then even him and Tommy. He would also help Tommy with his Plan to Kill Dream, and would end up in conflict with Quackity and Las Nevadas over a massive fort created to spy on Las Nevadas created by Tubbo. Despite all of this, Tubbo still felt empty and purposeless, and when Quackity came to him with the offer of working for Las Nevadas, he accepted. Tubbo has since agreed to have the Cookie outpost become a part of Las Nevadas, but due to miscommunication, Ranboo (who is working for rival Paradise Burgers), thinking he had handed over the cookie outpost to Quackity, was saddened, causing disagreements.

After spending some time working as the manager of his restaurant in Las Nevadas, he grew tried of his day-to-day routine, thinking himself as worth more than to just be tending a restaurant where nobody visited. He eventually made up with Ranboo, but they had another argument the next day, which ended in in tears for Tubbo's part. The next day, he got himself caught on Wilbur's TNT trap, only realising that it was rigged to explode after swapping places with Quackity's horse on the pressure plate. Terrified, he was eventually found by the others. However, Wilbur and Quackity got into a fistfight instead of trying to help him off the pressure plate. Ranboo then broke into the trap room and swapped places with Tubbo on the pressure plate, allowing Tubbo to escape to safety.

After the events of the prison break and Ranboo's final canon death, Tubbo greeted Technoblade with hesitancy after he showed up in Snowchester. Tubbo chose to be vague about the answers he gave to Techno when he asked about the photograph picturing Michael, but after Techno told Tubbo about Ranboo's death, Tubbo went silent before showing him Michael's room. Anxious to see that it was empty, Tubbo took up a shaky alliance with Technoblade in order to find Michael. They then added Eret to the team, and after the two apologized for hurting Tubbo in the past, the three rescued Michael and locked Sam in Pandora's Vault.

After moving Michael to Ranboo's old house, Tubbo decided at Technoblade's suggestion to move in there with Michael. They were greeted at Ranboo's house by Boo. Tubbo gave him Ranboo's "Do Not Read" book, which Boo responded by thanking him and giving him a pink tulip. Following that, Tubbo had since moved himself to a mushroom house out near the Greater SMP.

Tubbo is deceased in the current iteration of the Dream SMP world. He lost his first life in the Final Control Room, his second when he was executed by Technoblade on Schlatt's orders during the Manberg Festival, and his third in the detonation of Project New Dawn.

  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Despite his skin having blond hair, Tubbo is almost universally portrayed with brown hair. This is because his hair is brown in real life and on his Twitch avatar. Additionally, the color change makes him look more distinct from Tommy.
  • Angst? What Angst?: Invoked and deconstructed. Tubbo almost never talks about or acknowledges the traumatic experiences he's gone through, giving the impression that he's shrugged off those negative experiences, but in actuality, it's more of a case of Tubbo downplaying how it affects him or bottling-up his feelings.
sleepyhedgee: (in the stream chat during the Saving Michael stream) wheres the trauma? i want a mental breakdown from having to work with the man who killed you
  • Animal Motifs: Bees, which Tubbo also happens to absolutely adore. Bees are hardworking, community oriented animals who do important work (pollinating flowers and food plants) but are often overlooked or seen as pests. They have a strict social hierarchy, and are surprisingly intelligent, able to communicate in sophisticated ways. Tubbo is a determined, loyal friend and The Smart Guy. However, he also tends to kiss up to authority and act as a yes-man, and his contributions are often overlooked.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Probably the most competent builder out of L'Manburg's founders, and always seems to have the right items for the situation, but also has multiple "alter egos" and, well, just look at the Funny page for some of his exploits during the early days of L'Manburg.
  • Cerebus Callback: At the beginning of the server's history, Tommy stumbled upon Tubbo, who'd boxed himself in with cobblestone. Tommy jokingly called the box "Tubbox" and started saying things like "Tubbo in a box, what will he do?" The next time the 'Tubbox' got referenced was when Tubbo was trapped in a concrete box at the Festival, about to be executed.
  • A Child Shall Lead Them: Tubbo is one of the youngest members of the SMP and was also given presidency over New L'Manburg from Wilbur and later became the leader of Snowchester.
  • Child Soldiers: Tubbo joined the L'Manburg Civil War at age sixteen.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: He sometimes acts like this in between plot-heavy/high-tension episodes, such as looking up whilst crouching and moving in an odd manner whilst Tommy shows Ninja the SMP and Manburg after the election.
Tommy: WHY ARE YOU PRETENDING TO BE A FUCKING FISH, TUBBO?!
  • Covered in Scars: Tubbo has burn scars all over his body from his execution at the Manburg Festival.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: Tubbo's second death (and Schlatt's first) at the Manburg Festival involved being shot in the face with fireworks. It is later revealed that the death left Tubbo being Covered in Scars and utterly traumatized.
  • Cruel Mercy: One of the reasons for Tubbo deciding to have Sam locked up in Pandora's Vault is because he thought that death was too good for him.
  • Death Seeker: While he's never actively sought out his own death like Tommy has, Tubbo is worryingly apathetic about his own demise, seeing it as an inevitability that he can accept as long as Tommy is still alive. This likely stems from Tommy claiming that the discs mattered more than him during their heated battle prior to Doomsday, and while Tommy clearly regretted it and said as much to Tubbo, it's clear that it stuck with him and brought down his own self-worth. This is further shown upon the revelation that one of Tubbo's nukes can only be set-off by triggering a dead-man's switch, showing Tubbo's willingness to sacrifice his own life to save those he cares about.
  • Demon Slaying: Fundy, Tubbo, and Sapnap are all part of the Dreamon Hunters, a group of investigators who seek out and destroy Dreamons.
  • Diseased Name: Tubbo's name is canonically short for "Tuberculosis".
  • Enemy Mine: After his husband, Ranboo, is killed by Sam, Tubbo teams up with Technoblade, one of his biggest enemies, to avenge Ranboo's death and save their son.
  • Eye Scream: As of Season 4, Tubbo is confirmed to be blind in one eye from his execution at the Manburg Festival via Fatal Fireworks.
  • Fatal Fireworks: How Tubbo loses his second canon life, in a Public Execution at the Manberg Festival.
  • Father's Quest: To save Michael from Sam, after Sam kidnaps him as leverage against Ranboo to be used as a hostage for Dream during the latter's escape. He ultimately succeeds in this.
  • Five Stages of Grief: Upon learning about Tommy's death, Tubbo launches right into the denial part of this process, and while he searched for who was behind the security threat that lead to Tommy getting stuck with Dream in the first place, Tubbo still showed signs of struggling to accept to Tommy has been killed.
  • Flower Motifs: Pink tulips, which represent attachment, good wishes, care, and affection. Ranboo has gifted these flowers to him since knowing they were his favourites, even as Boo.
  • Friend to Bugs: Tubbo is very fond of bees, which is a trait he also shares with his sister. He even has an alternate skin themed around beekeeping.
  • Foil:
    • To Tommy. Tommy is a very emotional person, and tends to throw logic and reason out the window in favor of protecting the things or people he holds dear. In contrast, Tubbo is a very logical person, and always tries to think his decisions through very carefully. Best exemplified by their would-be final conversation during the Final Disc War, where Tommy is desperately trying to find a way out and insisting that Dream is not going to kill Tubbo, while Tubbo calmly points out that Dream has cut off every possible escape route, and tries to comfort Tommy as he accepts his impending death. This also ties into their respective fatal flaws; Tommy's Hot-Blooded nature makes him very quick to anger, which causes or exacerbates a lot of conflict between himself and his servermates, while Tubbo's colder, more calculating nature leads him to make decisions that, while seemingly better in the long term, sever emotional ties between himself and his friends, inadvertently leading him to alienate his loved ones.
    • To Quackity, his extroverted fellow former cabinet member in Manberg and New L'Manberg. Their poor experiences under Schlatt changed them both in big ways — Tubbo tried very hard to not be the man Schlatt was and tried to do anything to avoid big conflicts even if it meant letting other people, like Dream, taking advantage of his pacifistic nature; Quackity, however, can't stand seeing people abuse their power over those without it and is quick to go on the offensive, even if it'll cause backlash. While both men are very smart, Tubbo is better at controlling his emotions and makes decisions based on logic, which tends to make him come across as cold or blunt, while Quackity is often driven by his emotions, sometimes acting rashly in the heat of the moment, especially in stressful situations. Tubbo is more passive and sometimes forgiving to a concerning degree, while Quackity is more aggressive and his inability to let go of grudges tends to hurt him in the end. Both have bad issues with bottling up their trauma, leading to Tubbo suffering silently and Quackity projecting his issues onto others. Both were canonically killed by Technoblade, leaving them with facial scars and enough psychological trauma to last a lifetime, but in Tubbo's case, it was during his own execution, while in Quackity's, it was during what was supposed to be Techno's execution. Both have also emulated methods used against them — Tubbo's nukes can be seen as a more extreme version of Techno and Phil's withers and were built purely as a defensive measure; while Quackity increasingly relies on more violent methods and tried to kill Techno the same way Techno killed him, once again with Tubbo being more defensive contrasting Quackity's more aggressive nature.
  • Gold Digger: Played for Laughs; it's often joked that Tubbo only cares for Ranboo's wealth when they got married.
  • Happily Adopted: Tubbo is unaware of the status of his birth parents, as at some point, he was adopted by Philza and the two generally have a good relationship. This is later subverted when Tubbo's participation in the Butcher Army attack on Technoblade and questionably authoritarian behavior drives him and Phil apart, and the adoption was apparently retconned out at one point.
  • Happily Married: He and Ranboo are married and have a young adopted child.
  • His Name Really Is "Barkeep": As revealed by his signature on Snowchester's declaration of independence, his full name really is "Tubbo Underscore".
  • Horned Humanoid: They aren't visible on any of his skins, but according to Puffy, Tubbo has little horns.
  • I Should Have Been Better: Several people have criticized him as being the worst president L'Manburg has had, a statement he has agreed with despite having never wanted the position in the first place.
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Subverted. Dream has claimed that he didn't think Tubbo has done anything wrong, but 1) it's Dream who said this, and 2) even though he's on the lighter end of the spectrum in terms of morality on the SMP, Tubbo has done some morally ambiguous things in the past, e.g. being an active part of the Butcher Army's attempt to execute Technoblade (without trial).
  • Innocently Insensitive: Tubbo's nonchalant optimistic nature sometimes clashes during tense situations, such as when he straight-up asks Philza if he enjoyed killing his son Wilbur or asking if both of Fundy's parents are dead now that Fundy fished up a salmon (as Fundy's Missing Mom is one).
Tubbo: Am I failing to read the room a little?
  • Interspecies Adoption: Adopted a baby zombie piglin named Michael with Ranboo.
  • Kick the Dog: Frequently on the receiving end of this from Jschlatt. Most apparent when Wilbur and Tommy meet with Jschlatt to negotiate for a day-long visa, as Jschlatt seems to treat Tubbo as nothing more than a glorified servant, and even shouts at him when he accidentally picks up the book Tommy tried to give to Schlatt.
  • "L" Is for "Dyslexia": Tubbo has severe dyslexia. He can read and write, but he has a lot of trouble with spelling and grammar, and will often ask others to read things out for him or spellcheck his work.
  • The Maiden Name Debate: After getting married, his full name has been changed to "Tubbo Underscore-Beloved", taking on Ranboo's surname as well as keeping his own.
  • The Mole: Wilbur and Tommy assign him this role, with him feeding the duo intel on Jschlatt's operations. This backfires hard later on, as Schlatt finds out he's been conspiring with Pogtopia and has him executed and exiled.
  • The Needs of the Many: Tubbo's number one priority as president is the safety of his people and his nation, so when Dream imposes an ultimatum on Tubbo to either deal with Tommy for griefing George's home or let Dream wall off L'Manberg, he chooses to punish Tommy, causing a strain in their friendship. Unfortunately, things only get worse for the pair when Tommy's gambit of using Spirit's leather against Dream backfires severely, forcing Tubbo once again to have to decide between the wellbeing of his best friend or the safety of L'Manberg. In the end, he chose L'Manberg.
  • One Head Shorter: When compared with Ranboo.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Tubbo, who up to this point has shrugged off pretty much every single bad thing that has happened to him, finally snaps after Tommy's plan during his meeting with Dream backfires horribly, putting Tommy and the rest of L'Manberg at serious risk. The fact that his first real tense argument is against Tommy only makes it all the more shocking to see.
Tubbo: You had one job, you couldn't do one thing for me. One. Just one thing and it was for your own good! So y'know what, if the roles were reversed, as you said... yeah, you probably wouldn't have exiled me... because I would have actually listened to you!
  • Paranormal Investigation: He's the founder and leader of the Dreamon Hunters, and knows more about Dreamons than his fellow Dreamon Hunters.
  • Parental Abandonment: According to Phil, Tubbo was found in a box by the side of the road after he fell out of his parents' car. Even though Phil put up signs saying he'd been found, his parents never came to get him. However, this has apparently been retconned out as of Season 3.
  • Past Experience Nightmare: During Tubbo's first talk with Wilbur post-revival, he tells Wilbur that he still sees explosions and fireworks from his Public Execution whenever he closes his eyes.
  • The Pollyanna: Tubbo is unshakably optimistic about everything. He doubted for a long time that Wilbur had bad intentions, and he forgave Techno for killing him as soon as they got back to Pogtopia. Even the fact that his country was blown up minutes after he became president barely seemed to phase him, as when he got over the shock, he immediately started planning the rebuilding effort. Subverted when his attitude later turns out to mostly be a ruse; Tubbo is a lot more troubled then he lets on.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Which one he is depends on who he is with. Tubbo is usually the blue to Tommy's loud red, but around Ranboo, who is much more reserved then Tommy, Tubbo's more chaotic traits shine a lot more, making him the red to Ranboo's blue.
  • Sadistic Choice: During his tenure as the President of New L'Manburg, under Dream's looming threats, Tubbo was forced to choose to Exiling his best friend, or have his entire country sieged under Walls of Tyranny with any attempted escapees killed by Dream's forces. Tubbo, at the cost of shattering the bond with his best friend, chose the former.
  • Shorter Means Smarter: Tubbo has been described to be "canonically short", and is also The Smart Guy.
  • Sinister Scythe: One of the few "weapons" Tubbo brought with him in his Father's Quest was a golden hoe enchanted with Fortune III, and he uses it to strike Sam multiple times during that livestream.
  • The Smart Guy: Tubbo manages to invent the nuclear warhead in a world whose most complicated technology is bulky redstone contraptions. Even back during the L'Manburg War for Independence, he was a clever strategist whose observational skills and serious preparation helped the rebellion to make serious headway.
  • Smart People Play Chess: While he's President, Tubbo plays multiple games of chess with Fundy and Dream, and is also The Smart Guy.
  • The Spock: Tubbo is the logical Superego of the "Bench Trio", in contrast to Ranboo's mediator Ego and Tommy's Hot-Blooded Id.
  • Stepford Snarker: Possibly, with this line:
Tubbo: I'm so glad to be allianced with all of the people that have assassinated [me].
  • Tragic Keepsake: The photo Ranboo has of Michael which he handed to Techno before his death.
  • Unreliable Expositor: Tubbo's June 18th livestream involves him explaining to Ranboo the origins of his firework scars from the Manburg Festival, but there are implications that his memories of the incident were distorted by the trauma surrounding it. To specify, Tubbo claimed that Quackity was in support of the execution, when in reality, though he did help build the yellow concrete box trapping Tubbo, he vocally objected to the execution, thinking it was too harsh of a punishment for Tubbo being The Mole, but was powerless to stop it. The problem as a result of this is that Ranboo believes Tubbo's distorted recounting of the incident and thus blames Quackity for his husband's execution, likely fueled by his own trauma from the Green Festival (where Quackity wanted Ranboo executed for betraying L'Manburg and aiding Dream while in his Enderwalk state) and according to some, a refusal to acknowledge Techno's part in the incident or to confront Techno for it.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Despite having exiled Tommy from L'Manburg, he held the compass that Ghostbur gave him, which points to Logstedshire (Tommy's residence in the Exile Arc), on his off-hand for good portion of one of his streams. After Tommy's death, it initially appears that Tubbo doesn't have much of a reaction, but that's because he was in denial. The next day, Tubbo makes a monument of their iconic bench in Snowchester to honor the memory of his best friend and commits himself to investigating the culprit that caused the security breach, so he can punish them for their role in Tommy's death. When Tommy comes back from being resurrected in the prison, Tubbo silently follows him everywhere after the initial shock.

    Ranboo

    Eret

Other

    Squeeks
Tubbo's pet fox, gifted to him by Punz after the death of Mushroom.
  • Shoot the Shaggy Dog: Despite Ranboo's best efforts to save Squeeks from the Doomsday War, and then carefully bringing him safely to Tommy and Tubbo's house, Tubbo ends up getting Squeeks killed by a Creeper just a day later.

    Tubbo's chat
Tubbo's chat manifests as ducks and bugs, most likely bees, in a pond. See the Main Character Index for more information about them.

    Michael
Ranboo and Tubbo's adopted son. Michael, stylized MICHAEL, is a baby zombified piglin, who was discovered on Ranboo's first day on the server, riding a chicken. He was trapped in a boat for safekeeping, and buried under the netherrack to save later. Ranboo and Tubbo — who had gotten married in the meantime — eventually transported him to Snowchester, where he lived in his bedroom in Tubbo's attic.

At one point, in spite of Eret's attempts to keep Michael safe from being hurt or killed by other members of the server, Sam manages to kidnap Michael (by convincing Eret that he could keep him safe) as a hostage to have Ranboo arrested, presumably for triggering the prison lockdown while Enderwalking. However, since then, Tubbo, Eret and Techno have teamed up to rescue Michael, and Michael currently lives in Ranboo's house in the tundra.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Among his parents and uncle-figure, Michael has been addressed as "Mike" or variations thereof.
  • Fearless Infant: When Fundy and Phil came over to visit, Fundy half-jokingly threatened to kill Michael if Ranboo and Tubbo didn't give him back his stuff. Ranboo and Tubbo immediately step in front of Michael to keep Fundy from getting to him, at which point Michael runs out from behind them to stare at Phil, completely unconcerned with Fundy's threats.
  • Locked Up and Left Behind: Michael was discovered in October 2020 and trapped in a boat to keep him from dying, with the promise that they'd come back for him at a later date. They did come to get him... on Valentine's Day 2021.
  • Nom de Mom: Kind of. Ranboo has confirmed that Michael's full name is Michael_Beloved, having both of his parents' surnames.
  • The Speechless: Since he's a mob, Michael naturally can't talk. Ranboo and Tubbo can read his behavior well enough, however.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Golden carrots, likely a nod to the fact he's a zombified piglinnote .
