In General

  • Arc Villain: Each boss of the Raid is the boss of their story, usually unconnected to the main plot.
  • Back for the Finale: A good number of these raid bosses appear in the final chapter. Multiples of them too.
  • Damage-Sponge Boss: Anything on Omega-3 is this. The main source of difficulty is not the boss' attacks, but figuring out how to cut your way through 150 million+ HP before the 5-minute timer runs out.
  • Harder Than Hard: The "Resplendent Refrain" rerun introduced Nightmare mode which has a harsher time limit and stronger attacks, though completing it once a day gives rewards like Twinkling Grains, Sunlight Ores, and Golden Fragments. Over time, Nightmare mode has become a case of Sequel Difficulty Drop as even Chimeratech weapons can do just as much damage to Nightmare bosses as Agito weapons can, which resulted in Omega difficulties being added with each one growing harder as Adventurers get stronger with the highest being Omega-3.
  • Nintendo Hard: The trope is in full effect when "Fractured Futures" introduced Omega Difficulty, which is harder than Nightmare and comes in separate Solo and Co-op missions, and the latter can only be taken on after clearing the former. The "Loyalty's Requiem" Event upgraded it further with Omega-2 Difficulty, requiring everyone on the team to have stats worthy of Master High Dragon or Expert/Master Agito, which by then is just a Bragging Rights Reward. Finally, "Forgotten Truths" introduces Omega-3, which is basically Nintendo Hard gone Harder Than Hard!
  • Total Party Kill: Failure to beat the raid bosses within the time limit will result in them performing an unavoidable attack that wipes out anybody still standing. Some raid bosses can perform these even before time is up, but those instances can be stopped.

    King Archeole (Loyalty's Requiem
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/king_archeole.png
Element: Fire
The king of the fallen kingdom of Alba, and Pele's former master. He sealed Phraeganoth into the space between worlds, along with Pele and himself. However, the Black Mana in the environment transformed him into a fiend.

    Phraeganoth (Loyalty's Requiem
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/phraeganoth.png
Element: Fire
An ancient evil that's been slumbering for years until awakening now, threatening to destroy the world.
  • Arc Villain: Of the "Loyalty's Requiem" Event.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: He's massive and dwarfs even Dragons.
  • Back for the Dead: Returns in Bondforged Zethia's adventurer story after being summoned by a doomcrier. He is slain by Zethia in said story as well.
  • Outside-Context Problem: Its appearance is this compared to everything between the heroes and the Empire.
  • Sealed Evil in a Duel: It had been sealed away with the Dragon Pele, keeping it from invading for the last 1000 years until the beginning of the event.
  • Tail Slap: It can attack by spinning around and hitting the group with its tail. It's usually the first thing to get destroyed in the fight.
  • Transplant: He's one of many dragons transferred from Knights of Glory.

    Pumpking (Trick or Treasure!
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/99311f53_dbbd_4005_9158_99ec3ec97a22.png
Element: Shadow

    Storm Sentinel (Kindness and Captivity
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/3f4cc60b_34d0_42bf_b665_a5fe58a799be.png
Element: Wind
A machine created by the Empire as a weapon.
  • Attack Drone: It uses four drones to perform many of its attacks. If all of the drones are destroyed, it repairs them.
  • Energy Weapon: It can spin the drones around to make lasers. How many there are depend on how many drones are alive.
  • Stone Wall: Even with a high level team on Expert, it still takes scratch damage while its Overdrive is full. It's not until it goes into Break status does it take enough damage for the fight to end shortly.
  • Teleport Spam: It can teleport repeatedly throughout the fight.

    Hypnos (Kindness and Captivity
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hypnos_1.png
Element: Wind
A fiend that can send copies of itself to attack from the space between worlds.
  • Blow You Away: It possesses an arsenal of wind attacks.
  • Foreshadowing: Some of its abilities hint to its true identity as Sylvia, the Guardian of Melsa's village, such as its wind attacks and being able to send copies of itself. The mere fact that it's Sylvia shows that not even Dragons are immune to Black Mana, which is demonstrated at full force in Void Battles and Chapter 13.
  • Reused Character Design: Its design is derived from Thanatos from Knights of Glory, but touched up to match its Wind typing. The original Thanatos would be added into the game later.
  • Status Effects: Fittingly, one of its attacks inflicts Sleep, which becomes dangerous when he uses a charge attack at your helpless Adventurers.

    Manticore (multiple)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/c028c0e9_5124_420d_851c_c58d78b5a5ed.png

The Mini-Boss of multiple Raid Events.

  • Recurring Boss: Reappears as the main boss of the Facility Event "Dream Big Under the Big Top." It also serves as the mini-boss for "Scars of the Syndicate."
  • Was Once a Man: In "Scars of the Syndicate," the Manticore fought during the event was Aldred's younger sister, experimented on and fused with a fiend.

    Sabnock (Resplendent Refrain
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sabnock.png
Element: Shadow

  • Dark Is Evil: Played straight with this boss not only being Shadow Element, but also using Shadow magic.
  • Dash Attack: EX/Nightmare Sabnock uses two quick charge attacks that are unblockable and need to be dodged.
  • Emotion Eater: Feeds on the darkness plaguing the children. It used to be a normal fiend a century ago... until it fed on the children's dark thoughts and got stronger from it.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: One hundred years ago, it was just another standard fiend. For the last century, it fed on the children of the choir's thoughts until it grew so large and powerful that it threatened reality.
  • Mind Virus: If one of the children has a negative thought, he appears in their dreams and torments them with it, as one sees happening with Elias.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: Sabnock is named after one of the 72 demons of the Ars Goetia.
  • Top-Heavy Guy: Appears to be roughly 90% chest and arms.
  • Villain Forgot to Level Grind: From a gameplay perspective. While all other raid bosses got Omega levels to have them provide challenge in their event reruns, Sabnock did not when his event was rerun on April 2022 leaving nightmare as his highest difficulty.

Gustav (Dream Big Under the Big Top
Ringmaster of a rival circus troupe that Annelie's circus competes against.
  • Dirty Coward: The moment the fiends he attempted to use for his show start running wild, Gustav runs away and leaves his performers and guests at their mercy.
  • Fat Bastard: The portrait used for him in cutscenes portrays him as a very round man.
  • Hate Sink: He stole Annelie's performers with intent to put her circus out of business and then later abandoned them when a performance involving fiends goes completely wrong. He also boasts about the former to Annelie and expresses intent on seeing her go under.
  • Lethally Stupid: His performance for the competition involves using wild fiends with no soldiers or guards to keep them subdued. It goes as well as you would expect, and Euden's gang is forced to deal with it.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: He almost shuts down Annelie's circus by stealing her performers. When his attempt to use fiends for entertainment results in disaster, Euden's team puts on a performance while slaying them. This not only results in Gustav's circus losing the competition, but all of the performers he stole go back to Annelie.
  • The Rival: To Annelie and her circus. He hired most of her performers out from under her nose and nearly got her to having to shut her circus down.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: He only appears in one cutscene of the event, but his actions are the reason everything happens in the first place.

    Valfarre (Skyborne Spectacle
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vallfarre.png
Element: Water

  • Always a Bigger Fish: Euden and friends at first believe the Aquatic Cyclops miniboss is the one causing the problems to Peng Lai. Turns out, as soon as it was destroyed, it allowed Valfarre's seal to open up, revealing the real monster of the episode.
  • Making a Splash: He uses Water based attacks which can inflict Bog on anyone unable to resist it.
  • Palette Swap: While the attacks are very much different, he's one for Sabnock.
  • Panthera Awesome: He has the look of a large, muscular tiger.
  • Pec Flex: His intro has him posing like he's at a muscle show before getting serious.
  • Top-Heavy Guy: He's built like Sabnock, so huge chest and arms with tiny legs and head.
  • Villain Forgot to Level Grind: Valfarre lacks Omega levels 2 and 3 for the June 2022 rerun of the Skyborne Spectacle event.

    Thanatos (A Waltz with Fate
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/thanatos_6.png
"All life shall know the curse of death."
Element: Shadow

  • Boss Banter: He's one of the few Raid Bosses that talks during battle, complete with voiced dialogue.
  • Dark Is Evil: Very much played straight as a Shadow Element boss.
  • Hate Sink: He kidnapped Felicia to force her to dance for his entertainment, destroyed her home so she wouldn't have anywhere to go, and attempts to kill her when he is about to die.
  • It's All About Me: As Mym spells it out for him, he doesn't really care about Felicia, he just wants to keep her for himself so he can watch her dance.
  • Sinister Scythe: He uses these in his attacks to also knock down your life timers.
  • Taking You with Me: When Thanatos realizes he's about to die, he tries to kill Felicia along with himself, only to be stopped by Phantom.
  • Transplant: One of many Dragons originally from Knights of Glory, although his design was already used for Hypnos.
  • Underground Monkey: A rare and weird recursive example. Technically speaking, Knights of Glory Thanatos came first, but his design was repurposed and touched up for Hypnos. Then the original Thanatos was brought into Dragalia Lost with the same design afterward, making him this towards Hypnos even though Hypnos is a meta Palette Swap of him.
  • Yandere: Kidnaps Felicia to dance for him and destroys her village so she has nowhere to go back to.

The Culprit of Accursed Archives (spoilers)

White Nyarlathotep

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/white_gnarly_toestep.png
Element: Shadow
The other Nyarlathotep.
  • Humanoid Abomination: Its form as Lathna is this when they're revealed as the mastermind behind the Accursed Archives Event.
  • Light Is Not Good: This Nyarlathotep is colored white and is the event's main antagonist, in contrast to the Black Nyarlathotep encountered in the library.
  • Promoted to Playable: Kinda; Lathna can Dragonshift to it like how any Mym versions can only shapeshift to Brunhilda and/or High Brunhilda for Gala Mym. However, she is still a separate being from this specific Nyarlathotep.

    Loki (Fire Emblem: Lost Heroes
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/loki_3.png
Voiced by: Satomi Arai (Japanese), Erika Ishii (English)

A trickster from the World of Zenith who loves to sow chaos.

For tropes pertaining to her original appearance in Fire Emblem Heroes, see this page.

  • It Amused Me: She crosses over the worlds of Fire Emblem and Dragalia Lost because she wanted to make some chaos.
  • The Unfought: Loki is not fought at any point during the event.
  • Villain Team-Up: Teams up with Harle and the Dyrenell Empire. Considering the fake Harle is also named Loki, it makes sense.

    Qitian Dasheng (Echoes of Antiquity
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/600px_120125_01_base_portrait.png
"Come and get it!"
Element: Wind
The corrupted student of Xuan Zang, Wu Kong.
  • Artifact Domination: This is the result of Wu Kong being taken over by the Jin Gu Er.
  • Bring It: His introduction has him land, then saying "Come and get it."
  • Charged Attack: Often uses these attacks. You can break these spheres of power.
  • Dash Attack: Often attacks this way.
  • Fighting from the Inside: Wu Kong is doing this to Qitian Dasheng after his second transformation.
  • Monkey King Lite: He shares many traits with Sun Wukong from Journey to the West. He has a monkey tail, fights with a staff, enters battle flying on a cloud, and can create mini clones by plucking his hairs and blowing on them.
  • Older Alter Ego: Is this for Wu Kong.
  • Reused Character Design: His design is based off of Knights of Glory's take on Sun Wukong, but with the color palette and design details changed.
  • Shout-Out: Besides Sun Wukong, he also shares attributes with another character based on him, Son Goku. His hair grows longer like a Super Saiyan 3 when he enters Overdrive and he adopts the Kamehameha pose when charging certain attacks. His green hair is also reminiscent of Broly's Legendary Super Saiyan form.
  • Superpowered Alter Ego: Is this for Wu Kong.
  • That Man Is Dead: During Wu Kong's initial transformation, he disregarded his name and called himself Qitian Dasheng.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: Unlike his normal self, he doesn't wear a shirt.

    Barbary (A Splash of Adventure
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/barbary.png
"Yar-har-har-har-har!"
Element: Fire
Voiced By: Aimée Ayote (English)
A pirate fiend.
  • Arch-Enemy: She's this for Erasmus.
  • The Cameo: Appears in Summer Patia's Adventurer Story which serves as one of the sequels to the Event "A Splash of Adventure."
  • Cute Monster Girl: Is explicitly a Fiend, not a Dragon, and was thus the first boss fiend to have the same "half human, half creature" design-style as the humanoid Dragons.
  • Heelā€“Face Turn: She seems to be in the process of reform, courtesy of Estelle.
    • Heelā€“Face Revolving Door: In Summer Patia's Adventurer Story she becomes a heel again by challenging people to volleyball. She reforms again after finally being beaten at the game by the Summer versions of Patia, Estelle, Julietta, and Celliera.
  • Meaningful Name: She's named after the Barbary Coast, which was a hotbed of pirate activity from the 16-19th Centuries.
  • Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: In this case, more pirate fiend...dragon...cephalopod...thing. Popular culture would label her as a Cecaelia.
  • Spin Attack: One of her attacks is her spinning around and hitting with her tentacles. The question is, does it count as a Roundhouse Kick or a Hurricane Kick?
  • Talk Like a Pirate: She speaks like this in her dialogue.
  • Tentacled Terror: Her lower half is four tentacles.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: She throws different varieties of explosives onto the field.
    • One attack has her place two (four in Nightmare mode) purple radius bombs that can be hit to move them.
    • One attack has her surround herself with barrel bombs and any Adventurer that touches them (even shapeshifted into a Dragon) get trapped then blasted into the air like fireworks.
  • Unscaled Merfolk: With her tentacled lower half being that of a large octopus, Barbary qualifies as a Cecaelia. She later absorbs a burst of power from a legendary treasure, growing to Kraken proportions.

Dr. Wily (Mega Man: Chaos Protocol
Element: Non-elemental
The mad doctor and Big Bad of the Mega Man franchise, who invades Alberia with the intent to conquer it by brainwashing the Greatwyrms.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: He somehow managed to brainwash all five of the Greatwyrms into causing trouble.
  • Mad Doctor: He is a scientist bent on world domination.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: One of his attacks has him quickly rotate while firing a massive laser. This would be difficult to avoid, except Wily always drop some Metalls the player can hide behind before the attack starts.
  • Non-Elemental: The Wily Machine 2 he pilots doesn't have an element.
  • Villains Want Mercy: As always, Wily begs for mercy the moment he's defeated. There's even a sticker of him doing it.

Sunrise Snapper (New Years Tidings: A Clawful Caper
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/120164_01_base_portrait.png
Element: Shadow

A fish caught by the halidom to lure in Ebisu.

  • The Bait: Its main role in the story. It is caught by the halidom in order to be used to lure Ebisu.
  • Zero-Effort Boss: Sunrise Snapper is not strong at all and only splashes around, doing minimal damage. Even in the Kaleidoscape, it hardly hurts you even at higher levels, leaving you to just strike it until its health drains.

    Picaro (A Dash of Disaster
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/120111_01_base_portrait.png
The Rival to Valerio and main antagonist of the "Dash of Disaster" facility event.
  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: He is willing to do whatever it takes to win including lie, cheat, steal, and put pineapple on pizza.
  • Big "WHAT?!": In Chapter 2 of Mitsuba's story, he has this reaction on learning that Nazuna, the person trying to take his bistro, is her sister.
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: Picaro ruins the dishes of other chefs to ensure that his wins. However, when that doesn't work against Valerio, he tries to get Nimis to eat his remaining dishes to ensure victory. Unfortunately for him Nimis eats Valerio's dishes instead, granting Valerio the win. However, this only motivates him to try and beat Valerio with dirty tactics for future contests.
  • Enemy Mine: Mitsuba's story sees him having to work with his rivals in a cook-off to keep Nazuna from taking his bistro.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Picaro has a wife and son whom he claims to care for and will do whatever it takes to make sure his family thrives.
  • French Jerk: His restaurant specializes in French cuisine and he's an egotistical bastard who'll stop at nothing to win.
  • Lethal Chef: Picaro says that his wife refuses to eat his cooking and that his son vomits whenever he eats it. His response to this is to sabotage the cooking of other chefs just so he can win a cooking contest.

The Doctor (Scars of the Syndicate
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/4c1b007a_f271_4ea3_8e76_88ebf39aabb1.png

One of the main leaders of the Syndicate.

  • Awful Truth: During his defeat in the "Scars of the Syndicate" event, The Doctor stated that the Prince, Aldred, and their friends will know the "terrible truth" of the Syndicate.
The Doctor: "Someday, you will know our terrible truth! GLORY TO THE SYNDICAAAAAATE..."
  • Big Bad: He serves as this to the "Scars of the Syndicate" Event.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Proudly embraces the label of "evil," though he interestingly defines "evil" as essentially the abandonment of ethics and morals in the pursuit of intellectual advancement and civilization's overall progress.
  • Dark Is Evil: He has dark blue hair, dresses in dark clothes, and is one of the biggest monsters mankind has to offer.
  • Dying Curse: As The Doctor gets defeated, he curses the party claiming that they will know the truth of the Syndicate.
The Doctor: "Someday, you will know our terrible truth! GLORY TO THE SYNDICAAAAAATE..."
  • Four Eyes, Zero Soul: He has glasses and is proud that he's evil.
  • Fusion Dance: Since Euden won't fuse with Aspidochelone, he decides to do it himself.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: The Doctor isn't present to actively participate in Shackles of the Syndicate but he is mentioned on how it was his research that led to the Syndicate to creating an army of Wyrmbinding soldiers. Given on how the Syndicate has members in the Royal Court of the Dyrenell Empire as well as Grace's description of the Syndicate believing to "correct the world" by following their leader, which is what the intents The Other/Empress Zethia stated in Chapter 5, making it possible for him to be responsible for the existence of Chronos. Making this man indirectly responsible for the events of Fractured Futures and Rage of Chronos as well.
  • Humans Are the Real Monsters: He is one of the most monstrous humans in Dragalia Lost, as he is a conductor of inhumane experiments, such as making Aldred a test subject for Dragon Shifting and fusing people with literal monsters.
  • "It" Is Dehumanizing: He shows how little he cares about Aldred by calling him rubbish, considering him a failed experiment.
  • My Death Is Just the Beginning: Even after being killed by the combined efforts of Euden and Aldred while in the body of Aspidochelone, he says this isn't the end of the Syndicate and that more will come for him.
  • Smug Snake: Has a distinct predilection for pseudo-philosophical rambling and clearly thinks highly of his own intellect. Given that he's an event boss unconnected to the main story, he overestimates his own ability and importance.
Luca: "You sure talk a lot for somebody that doesn't say much."
  • The Unfettered: He's willing to do whatever it takes for his experiments, including attacking a village and summoning Aspidochelone to make Euden fuse into it.

    Aspidochelone (Scars of the Syndicate
Element: Light
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aa668c33_6fd4_4a1e_bf53_d840127f6ad3.png

    Thórr (Fire Emblem: Kindred Ties
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/900px_thorr_base_portrait.png
God of War
The World of Zenith's Goddess of War, and sister to Loki. For tropes pertaining to her original appearance in Fire Emblem Heroes, see this page.
  • Big Bad: She's the main threat this time around instead of her sister, having kidnapped Alfonse to use his power for the gates to other worlds.
  • Just Following Orders: She justifies her actions by stating that she is merely doing what her superior has commanded her to do.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: Unlike Loki, whose actions in "Lost Heroes" were primarily for her own amusement, Thórr just gets right to the point.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted. Due to both Dragalia and Fire Emblem drawing on Norse Mythology, she shares her name with Valyx's pact Dragon (though her name is spelled differently).
  • Shock and Awe: She can summon lightning with her hammer, Mjölnir. Said lightning is powerful enough to destroy entire worlds, as Chrom's Adventurer Story can attest.
  • The Unfought: Thórr is not directly fought at all during the event.
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: When the heroes successfully defend against her horde, she acknowledges everyone's strength and warps away.

    Mei Hou Wang (Timeworn Torment
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mei_hou_wang_2.png
Unsealed
Element: Shadow

The fiend sealed in the Jin Gu Er.

  • Amnesiac Dissonance: When he's first met, he's in the cave where the artifact is sealed, with no memory of who he is or how he got there.
  • Humans Are the Real Monsters: One of his lines when he goes down is this.
    "I will never forgive humans."
  • Person of Mass Destruction: When his powers are unsealed after the Jin Gu Er is broken, he unleashes a powerful attack that destroys a mountain.
  • Power Incontinence: He constantly summons fiends even though he doesn't want to.
  • Reused Character Design: Like with Qitian Dasheng (who shares the same model) his design is based off of Knights of Glory's take on Sun Wukong, but with the color palette and design details changed.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: He was sealed inside the Jin Gu Er not only because of his destructive power, but also because his mere existence brings fiends to him.
  • Token Heroic Orc: He was unique for being a fiend that started out good, until mistreatment by others caused him to become evil.
  • Then Let Me Be Evil: After the ancient Qilin sealed him away for his inability to control his power, he came to hate humanity.

    Styx (Rhythmic Resolutions
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crazy_styx.png
A young form of a Dragon known as Styx. Normally kind creatures, they become violent should a certain Taboo be violated, that being Hatred.
  • Ax-Crazy: Theyā€™re rather violent, such as destruction of property, sending in a bear, and throwing tomatoes.
  • Bears Are Bad News: They lead a bear into town to cause some mayhem.
  • Griping About Gremlins: They are effectively an Expy of Gremlins only with the violence dialled down. There's even one that resembles Greta!
  • Making a Splash: Is a younger form of the Guardian Dragon of Great Rivers.
  • Pieces of God: Is spawned from a powerful river Dragon known as Styx. Should their Taboo of hatred be done near it, these creatures will spawn, destroying everything until the two individuals who hated each other near Styx truly forgive one another. They will be pacified and return to their adult form, giving blessings of rain, but at the cost of their younger form's memories.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: Is named after the Greek oceanic Nymph of the River Styx, which is the boundary between the Earth and the Underworld.

    The Pincer Navy (Multiple)
Element: Water (Admiral) Light (Commodore)

    Scylla (Doomsday Getaway
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/120200_01_base_portrait.png
"Dance! Dance before your mistress!"
Element: Water

A fiend responsible for the curse on the island.

  • Bluff the Impostor: Defied. The group, upon learning that Scylla may be among them, tries the tactic of asking questions only the other would know. Norwin feels that Scylla is anticipating that tactic, rendering it useless. Especially since it turns out she was never a part of the group to begin with.
  • Forced Transformation: She can turn the Adventurer you're currently controlling into a doll with Circe's Sneer, rendering them unusable until the weak point of Glaucus's Lament is destroyed.
"Become my dolls!"
  • Invincible Minor Minion: The shrooms that aid her in battle are completely invincible, but they alternate between attacking and lying motionless for a while.
  • Master of Disguise: Can disguise herself as one of the visiting guests for her killing game. She isn't disguised as anybody for the round she has the heroes participate in like they believed, as they realize there would be an extra doll if that were the case.
  • Palette Swap: She's a palette and elemental one for Barbary.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: Scylla and her attacks Circe's Sneer and Glaucus's Lament are named after a story in Classical Mythology where Glaucus fell in love with Scylla and Circe turned Scylla into a monster out of envy.
  • Soul Eating: She muses on how people's souls taste.
  • Toy Transmutation: She has an attack in which she turns some of the adventurers in the arena into dolls.
  • Who Dares?: It's one of a couple things she'll blurt upon defeat.
"How DARE you lay hands on me!"
  • Villainous Breakdown: When the heroes figure out how her game worked and successfully ruin it, Scylla is so furious that she abandons all pretense of playing in favor of attacking the heroes head on.

    Carmen (Doomsday Getaway
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/120177_01_base_portrait.png

A fiend who assists Scylla in her death game that alerts the players of when somebody has died.

  • The Dragon: To Scylla.
  • Expy: Her black and white color scheme, smug ego, and utter love of spreading despair make her one for Monokuma.
  • No-Sell: Patia tries to smash her when she says the group is all still stuck within Scylla, but the attack goes through her.
  • One-Steve Limit: Averted. Carmen the Fiend shares her name with Panther's Persona.
  • Out-Gambitted: When Amane expresses plans to trigger the island curse with somebody having to respond to her when she asks if they trust her, Carmen quickly says that she trusts Amane and starts demanding Amane to say that she trusts Carmen. What Carmen didn't realize was that Amane already did just that before Carmen on account of having said she trusted everybody in the vicinity when she was explaining her plan, which includes Carmen. This results in Carmen becoming victim to the island's curse and fading away.
  • Was Once a Man: At the end of "Doomsday Getaway," Mikoto says Carmen had the same aura as the dolls that contained people's souls, raising the possibility that Carmen was once a mortal who participated in Scylla's game.

    Astrals (Multiple)
Mysterious beings that take on the forms of others with each serving as a Superboss for Onslaught Events.
  • Aborted Arc: when it came to Astral Agito, only Volk, Ciella, and Tartarus have been fought. With the discontinuation of Onslaught Events in December 2021, Kai Yan and Ayaha & Otoha are the only Agito whose Astrals are never fought.
  • Duel Boss: Astrals are fought one-on-one against the Dragon equipped to the one Adventurer you're allowed to bring.
  • Evil Twin: Each Astral is one to the Greatwyrms, taking on their high forms. "Blessed Bloodline" introduces Astral Agito to the lineup.
  • Out Of Context Villain: The Astrals don't have a part in the main story of the events they appear in. Instead, they are introduced by the chaos of the war allowing the Astrals to take on the form of the High Dragons. For that, Midgardsormr allows Euden to fully transform into a Dragon to fight against them.

Otherworld Ramiel (Agents of the Goddess
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/c2fee034_a78b_40b9_9b97_b945a8549543.png
"Sink into the turbulent dark!"
Element: Light

A former Ilian priest turned demon who takes on the appearance of the archangel Ramiel upon fusing.

  • Actually a Doombot: The Sinister Dominion opening cutscene for Lilith reveals that Otherworld Ramiel wasn't actually a real demon at all, with Fallen Angel Ramiel referring to Otherworld Ramiel as a psuedo-demon.
  • Evil Twin: To Ramiel, down to a black Palette Swap, a boastful demeanor, and being the opposite element of the original Ramiel.
  • Soul Jar: The miasma from sealing stone makes it where Otherworld Ramiel is unkillable. Once the miasma is dealt with Otherworld Ramiel is rendered vulnerable.

    Augus (Forgotten Truths
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/93610e28_3b9b_4cb0_b27d_ce3f4c644790.png

A general in the distant past who sought to use the abilities and knowledge of a young alchemist to gain power for himself, and is part of the government actively waging war against Dragonkind.

  • A Million Is a Statistic: He deploys Mana Bombs to parts of the city in order to kill rampaging Dragons that his operations intend to goad into range with zero regard for human casualties; he refuses to have the folks in range of the bombs informed as a ruse to lure the Dragons into the blast zone. Ilia points out that millions of humans would die if the bombs go off, and convinces Elysium to aid her in defusing them.
  • Do Not Taunt Cthulhu: Firing the Dies Irae at Morsayati is reprised with annihilation, but his O-face suggests he is ecstatic over the demon's destructive power.
  • Electronic Eyes: Has a cybernetic left eye.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: This absolute scumbag of a human being is basically the reason why everything happened, really, trampling over human and dragon lives for power, consequences be damned. It ultimately gets him killed instead and the civilization he runs burned to the ground by the battle between Elyisum and Morsayati, the creation of the latter being his fault, ultimately replaced by Medieval Stasis.
  • Hate Sink: Ilia doesn't call him "God of Crap" for nothing. he antagonizes the dragons with intent on killing them all to promote his supremecy, kills millions of innocent people, and even laughs in admiration of the destruction Morsayati causes.
  • Humans Are the Real Monsters: He is a human general aiming to wipe out dragon kind even if he has no qualms using underhanded means such as destroying their nests and using bombs to wipe them out, uncaring if it leads to other humans getting killed.
  • In Love with Your Carnage: Watching Morsayati's unchecked hatred and violence is like watching someone finding a new religion.
  • The Unfought: Never actually properly confronted in battle. Instead, he was killed by Morsayati after daring to fire the Dies Irae at him and getting blasted to death.

Aether (Princess Connect! Re: Dive - A Voracious Visitor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/95d50213_d674_42f2_b58a_21fd9ac28364.png
Element: Shadow

A formless monster that desires the memories of ruin.

  • All Your Powers Combined: It draws upon the power of the raid bosses that have been conquered over the years like Hypnos and Mei Hou Wang.
  • Caps Lock: Any time it speaks in its own voice, it speaks like this.
  • Generic Doomsday Villain: It has no main plan besides "consume all life."
  • Palette Swap: The form taken on for raid battles is a color and elemental swap with Chronos.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Was originally kept sealed within the Box of Calamity, belonging to Lumière Pandoraā€™s sister. Her disappearance is what causes Aether to be released.
  • This Cannot Be!: It can't conceive that it was killed by The Power of Friendship.
Aether: "CAUSE OF DEFEAT: ENEMY'S UNEXPECTED LEVEL OF MUTUAL AIDE AND SYNERGY. INCONCEIVABLE."
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: It has no form of its own, so it takes on the form of various things. It decides on the form of Chronos, as he's the greatest threat the party has ever faced, to bring destruction to the world. It can also take on the forms of multiple people at once.

    Doman (Cursed Connections
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/279a3c72_2d9b_44e6_901a_a8d89be9b9ab.png

Element: Wind (Shikigami Gozu Tenno)
Voiced by: Junji Majima (Japanese), Ian Hanlin (English)

A member of the Mukuroshu, a group seeking to overthrow the Daimyoā€™s of Hinomoto, and a powerful Onmyoji as well.

  • Arch-Enemy: Is one to Seimei, the latter is looking for him not only to stop the Mukuroshu but also because of a curse known as Kodoku that killed Hinomoto's onmyoji, Seimei's grandfather among them. Heā€™s also named after Ashiya Douman, the Moriarty to Abe no Seimeiā€™s Sherlock.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: He used a letter provided him by Yoshitsune to gain entry to the Halidom, then swiftly corrupted its mana as part of his schemes.
  • Bullfight Boss: You don't fight him directly, but rather his shikigami replica of Gozu Tenno, and the fight takes this nature since the original is the Great Ox Dragon. Those sealing stones are your only cover in this battle.
  • Eyes Always Shut: His eyes are usually shut closed to show his wily and scheming ways until he opens them to get serious.
  • Xanatos Gambit: If Doman kills Seimei, he gains the kodoku curse as he desired. If he is killed by Seimei, then Seimei becomes forever afflicted with the curse which ultimately happens and Doman is thrilled. The only way for the curse to be undone is for both of them to die at the same time, which Doman also has no problem with. In the end, Doman benefits no matter what.

     Monarch Emile (Caged Desire
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/120209_01_base_portrait.png
Mega Monarch
Element: Non-elemental

A cognitive distortion of Emile, serving as the Monarch of the Dyrenell Jail. Embodies Emile's rage and insecurities over his inadequacies.

  • Boss Remix: He gets the honor of having a hard rock remix of "Last Surprise." His Omega battles share the "Rivers in the Desert" remix with Joker and Sophie's Trials.
  • "Instant Death" Radius: Zig-zagged. One of Emile's skills summons a circle of swords around him; unless you're in his face or attacking from afar, you're going to take damage.
  • Kneel Before Zod: One of his quotes is this, fitting his ego.
    "Kneel before your monarch!"
  • Non-Elemental: Monarch Emile has no base element, much like Morsayati, so attacks will inflict the same level of damage. That said, his armor can be breached by Persona attacks; good thing you get Sophie for free, huh?
  • One-Winged Angel: This is an Emile fully twisted by his hatred and insecurities that he's now turned into a raid-sized boss.
  • Palette Swap: He's a reskin of Hypnos/Thanatos but with Emile's Monarch robes.
  • Tarot Motifs: In fitting with the Persona theme, he falls under Reverse Emperor. Compared to his siblings who are universally loved, respected and able to command with authority, he's a No-Respect Guy that everyone hates.
  • This Cannot Be!: He shouts this as he's defeated.
  • Total Party Kill: About halfway through Omega fights, he will unleash two separate attacks that shower the field with area attacks, and weak points appear in each of them; failure to stop them will end with your party wiped, and Shapeshifting will not save you.

    Madame (Divine Deception

A person who was banned from the Ilian Church who has the ability to alter people's memories.

  • Demonic Possession: She gets possessed by a demon that turns her into a demonic version of Gabriel.
  • His Name Is...: She dies just before she was about to say just what Harle's true name is.
  • Snake Oil Salesman: She was peddling ordinary water as a kind of miracle cure in the Church's name; this was what got her banned from the Northern Church in the first place.

     Otherworld Gabriel (Divine Deception
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/210145_02_base_portrait.png
"Be engulfed in terror!"
Element: Wind

The form that Madame takes after being possessed by a demon, taking on the form of Pinon's angel, Gabriel.

  • Actually a Doombot: With Otherworld Ramiel revealed to not actually be a demon, the same most likely holds true for Otherworld Gabriel. Jaldabaoth's cutscenes reveal this to be the case as while Otherworld Gabriel is frequently referred to as Jaldabaoth by Basileus, she didn't actually house him like Fallen Angel Gabriel.
  • Soul Jar: The sealing stone with the miasma allows them to keep fighting as long as it's full of it. Once Pinon purifies the stone of miasma, they're just as easily killed by Euden and Faris.

    Anassa (Ageless Artifice
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/120218_01_base_portrait.png

The commanding officer of Eirene and Finni.

  • Greater-Scope Villain: With Eirene as the main antagonist for the event, Anassa ends up being this due to being Eirene's commanding officer who gave her orders to attack Grams.
  • Master Computer: She's the central AI for Ex Machina, or at least the unit in charge of Eirene and Finni's squadrons.
  • Spotting the Thread: She does this in Eirene's Adventure Story where even though she's disguised as a basic android unit, Eirene can't hide her command unit code.
  • The Unfought: As this is a Defense Event, you do not get the chance to fight her directly, let alone during the story of Ageless Artifice.
  • You Have Failed Me: Throughout the event, Anassa repeatedly deems Finni a failure destined for scrap, only for Eirene to talk her into letting Finni continue. Eventually, when it is clear to her that Finni can't keep herself from losing control, she takes control from Eirene to make her self-destruct. When the device is deactivated, she then deems Eirene to have failed as well, only for Eirene to tell her that she refuses to work for Ex Machina anymore, resulting in Anassa deeming both of them to have gone rogue.

  • Evil Versus Evil: Similar to Father Glennie, he wants to kill Nino but he has different reasons for then Father Glennie so an alliance between them couldn't form.
  • Foil: He's not only this for Tobias in the event, but also for what Elisanne would have been if she never met Euden that day in Chapter 1.
  • Knight Templar: He leads a group of these to kill the Perditionists as well as Nino.
  • This Cannot Be!: He shouts this even after seeing Nino unleash her own Faeblessed form and clean house with both factions, as well as him.

    Father Glennie (Blessed Bloodline
A member of the perditionist sect of the Ilian Church who seeks Nino's key and is willing to kill her to get it.

    Kanaloa (Stranded Scions
Element: Light

The Guardian of the deserted island that the royal siblings get washed up on.

After getting the power of Wyrmbinding

A prisoner of the Syndicate turned soldier who is given the task of slaying escaped prisoners.

  • Better to Die than Be Killed: Combines this with Spiteful Suicide. He kills the Overseer to keep him from spilling any beans about the Master, and causes the base he is in to collapse on him so that Farren's team can't get any info out of him either along with hurting Farren with being unable to save somebody he considered a friend.
  • Faceā€“Heel Turn: Was a good friend to Farren when they meet and genuinely wanted to help the other prisoners. After being experimented on by the Syndicate, he changes loyalty and works to kill his former prisonmates.
  • Evil Counterpart: Becomes one to Farren. Both were test subjects to the Syndicate who gain the power of wyrmbinding with a Barbatos B-Unit at their side. However, while Farren sticks to his principles and helps Aldred and Grace oppose the Syndicate, Jake chooses to side with the Syndicate and call himself The Captain.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Jake gives himself up to be experimented on in place of Farren to ensure that the prisoners don't lose hope. Of course, the experiments didn't kill him, but they did change him. Subverted when it is revealed he did so to sell Farren out.

  • Amoral Attorney: He uses bribery, hired muscle, and false charges among other things to achieve his goals.
  • Bad Boss: When Jupiter goes into his high dragon form, Guaron forces the soldiers working under him to act as human shields, which said soldiers are not okay with.
  • Fat Bastard: His portrait is that of the pudgy stock noble, and he is mean as can be.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: That treasure he's been wanting for power? It's actually a relic that summons and powers up Jupiter, who is already in the courtroom and not too happy with him hurting innocent people. And of course, there's the fact he uses dirty tactics to win cases in his favor, which Jupiter figures the best way to overcome is to do the same.
  • Villainous Breakdown: The moment things stop going in his favor during the trial, he decides to throw all rules out the window and have the dyrenell soldiers just outright steal the key from Eryn and take Euden's blood by force.

    Gassbag (A Dazzling Defense
A killer who was hired by Guaron to frame Eryn.
  • Loose Lips: He is not very good at keeping himself secret. The moment Jupiter points out flaws in his testimony and how he is the real killer by mentioning a shopkeep, he starts making sounds that confirm it. • Big Bad: She ultimately serves as such for the events involving the Mukuroshu as she is their leader.
  • Came Back Strong: Part of her gambit to escape her prison involved killing herself and guiding her clan to open the Realm of the Dead. The result of her plan also makes her more powerful.
  • Mirror Character: To the Progenitor. Both shared a part in creation with another powerful being before coming to war with them (Bahamut with the Progenitor, Amaterasu with Tsukuyomi). Both had been sealed away by their enemies only to eventually break out, and they both have a desire for control in contrast to their oppressors' desire for people to be free.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: She was imprisoned in a cave before managing to escape into the Realm of the Dead, hence the Mukuroshu's desire to open its gates.

  • Dying as Yourself: When his core is removed and destroyed, he is purged of black mana, and becomes the good man Alberius was. Unfortunately, it also means he dies shortly after, but not before praising his descendants and encouraging them to continue the path they've chosen, and to fight together instead of alone like he did.
  • Evil Counterpart: Is literally a perfect replica of Alberius at his prime, but corrupted by black mana.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: The replica rightfully points out that Valyx's fixation on Alberius and strive to be exactly like him makes it where he is unfit to be a ruler as he is following somebody else rather following his own path. However, Valyx agrees with him and changes things around by pointing out the same applies to the replica and that he strives to follow his own path from that point with Phares opting to the same after listening in.
  • Scaled Up: Much like the real Alberius and the royal family, this copy is capable of turning into dragons. Unlike them, he doesn't need a pact.
