Narciso (10th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drit2narciso.jpg

Age: 29
From: Casalvieri (Frosinone), Lazio

"Sono Narciso. Un fiore elegante dal profumo inebriante. Canto i sogni della mia immagine riflessa, ma non sono qui... [singing] per daa-aaar voce solo a me stessa." note

  • Flat Character: We don't really get to know much about Narciso, other than she's a singer but not a dressmaker. Even her Confession Cams are quite emotionless.
  • Reality Show Genre Blindness: Openly admits, when questioned by Tommaso, that's she's not a "tailor, costumer, or a designer", so it's no surprise that she exits first, following the Little Italy design challenge in the premiere.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: Her drag name comes from the myth of Narcissus, the vain youth who drowned after admiring his reflection in a river.
  • Tempting Fate: Upon Narciso's entrance, Nehellenia jokes that she will be the first eliminated because she's the only one not wearing a wig. While the wig itself isn't the cause, Narciso does indeed sashay away that very episode.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Narciso crashes out in last place.

Tanissa Yoncè (9th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drit2tanissayonce.jpg

Age: 28
From: Catania, Sicily

"In Sicilia... mi dicono: "beḍḍa", come il sole, come il mare... e ovviamente... come il cannolo!" note

  • Big Beautiful Woman: "Fat" would be excessive, but, along with Nehellenia, she's the queen with the fullest figure among her competitors.
  • Garden Garment: Her Flowery Meadow runway is a green Proper Lady gown with red accessories inspired by the prickly pear, a staple Sicilian plant.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: Her surname is a nod to Beyoncé.
  • Patriotic Fervor: Every other sentence she speaks is a reference to her homeland of Sicily (despite the fact that she's only one out of four Sicilian contestants this season).
  • Shrinking Violet: As many other early outs from the Drag Race franchise can attest, Tanissa's shyness proves to be her downfall, when she is unable to stand out both among her fellow queens and in the The Secret... but not really! acting challenge.

Obama (8th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drit2obama.jpg

Age: 33
From: Rome, Lazio

"Buuu! Paura? Pazzesca ci sarai. Io so' fa-vo-lo-sa!" note

  • Conflict Ball: An argument escalates between Obama and Panthera Virus during Episode 3's Untucked segment, when Panthera gets irked about Obama correcting her grammar, while the latter brings up an alleged offensive comment of the former about Obama's dad paying for his child's drag. All the other queens are reasonably dumbfounded at the sight of this seemingly pointless fight.
  • Impossibly Tacky Clothes: Her Flowery Meadow runway gets harshly read by the judges for not having an obvious floral inspiration like the other queens, but neither does it manage to accurately represent the "flowery meadow" as a whole — instead, it's a hippie-ish, shapeless mess in dreary tones of beige and grey.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: None other than Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United States of America. Coincidentally, as Barack Obama was the first POTUS of Black and African ancestry, this Obama is the first Drag Race Italia contestant with a similar ancestry.
  • Only One Name: Her full drag name is "Obama The Queen", but she goes only as "Obama" on the show.
  • Proud Beauty: She's well aware of her good looks and she constantly brags about it.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She's the tallest contestant among her fellow queens, and most of her height is given by her supermodel legs.
  • Supermodel Strut:
    • Obama has long, smooth, toned legs and a supermodel stride that help her place high for the Little Italy design challenge despite her outfit not being the best from a technical standpoint.
    • This however comes to bite her in the ass in later episodes, when the judges criticise her for being too much of a model who wears clothes but without giving them "character" like a proper drag queen would.
  • This Is a Competition: She shoots down all attempts at friendship and camaraderie from the side of her fellow contestants, stating that she's just there to win and rejoicing when other queens are eliminated. Obama however showcases the lighter side of this trope when she's a Graceful Loser once eliminated, saying that after all it's just a competition.

Panthera Virus (7th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drit2pantheravirus.jpg

Age: 29
From: Frosinone, Lazio

"Allacciate le cinture: Panthera Virus è qui, e sarà il vostro nuovo incubo. Bu!" note

  • Goth: She's the only queen this season with a distinct goth/punk aesthetic, and she demonstrates it right out of the bat with her entrance look made out of studded black leather and 30 cm platform heels. Come Episode 4, however, and the judges are tired of seeing the same "dark, edgy" Panthera every week, and this lack of versatility leads to her elimination.
  • One Degree of Separation: She's the drag daughter of Ava Hangar, the lovable Sardinian drag artist from Italia's first season.
  • Something about a Rose: Her Flowery Meadow runway is a black, spiky latex dominatrix catsuit that blossoms above the waist into a large red rose, from where Panthera's upper torso, arms and head pop out.
  • Western Zodiac: She comes out in a leotard, a headpiece shaped like a couple of pincers and a scorpion's tail on her backside, all in black leather, to represent her star sign Scorpio for the Drag Horoscope runway.
  • Whole Costume Reference: Her chosen outfit for the (Idiot) Plot Twist runway is a homage to "Bitch Better Have My Money"-era Rihanna, though the judges note that, while the reference is clear, there's not much of a twist nor of an outfit itself once the fur coat is off.

Gioffré (6th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drit2gioffre.jpg

Age: 25
From: New York City, New York, USA

"Hello, New York is here. Uh, guarda quante cucciole! Vi ho portato un pensierino. Oggi mi sento buona." note

  • But Not Too Foreign: She's the first foreign-born contestant of Drag Race Italia, having been born and raised in the US from an Italian family and now living in Italy.
  • Cartoon Penguin: In a definitely left-field choice, she portrays an unspecified Penguin for Snatch Game, though it's an obvious Lawyer-Friendly Cameo of beloved cartoon character Pingu.
  • Continuity Nod: She's channelling Enorma Jean from Italia's first season during the random fight between Obama and Panthera Virus in Episode 3, stating in a confessional "As a twenty-five-year-old, how can I be around these idiots?" and substituting her own age for Enorma's.
  • Cool Mask: A signature of her drag is a bejeweled mask covering the lower half of her face.
  • Garden Garment: Her Flowery Meadow runway is inspired by the orchid flower, being a black gown decorated with golden orchids (as well as a singular one gagging her mouth, The Silence of the Lambs-style) and a dramatic, black spiked headpiece.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Fans of other drag reality competitions may have already spotted her creations being worn by the Boulet Brothers in a couple of episodes and promo pictures of Dragula.
  • Emotionless Girl: Gioffré gets harshly read by the judges in Episode 4 for looking withdrawn and shy. She takes it quite hard, noting that no-one in her previous drag career has ever described her as "withdrawn", but she manages to deliver what the judges were asking for in the subsequent Lip-Sync for Your Life.
  • Hairy Girl: She's a "bearded queen", sporting full facial hair in drag (when not wearing one of her trademark masks), though she shaves it for her Mugler-inspired finale look.
  • Last-Name Basis: "Gioffré" is her family name out of drag.
  • Shed the Family Name: Inverted: as she tells in a tearful mirror-side moment, she used to associate her last name with the homophobic abuse she received from her family, but later reclaimed it as her drag name.
  • Shout-Out: During her Confession Cam introduction she proclaims "so' contento de fa' 'sto Drag Race" ("I'm happy to be in this Drag Race", in a hilariously thick Central Italian accent) channelling Sandra Marchegiano, a competitor from Miss Italia nel mondonote  who memetically introduced herself in a similar way.

SkandaLove (5th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drit2skandalove.jpg

Age: 33
From: Corato, Apulia

"So-so-so Skandalove!"

  • Awesome, but Impractical: Her A Walk in Time runway was supposed to represent an ape-woman transforming into a modern Schiaparelli-esque model. Unfortunately, the rigid golden bustier that is the centrepiece of the outfit ends up limiting her movements and her interpretation, ultimately leading to her elimination.
  • Hunk: Sports bold, masculine features and a muscular build, which makes her transformation into very feminine-form drag all the more impressive.
  • Mystical Lotus: Her Flowery Meadow runway is a ruched gown with a large lotus fascinator. As she describes in her voice-over, she chose the lotus as a symbol of rebirth just like Skanda herself was "reborn" after her extended pause from drag.
  • Punny Name: Her drag name plays on the word "scandalo" ("scandal" in Italian).
  • She's Back: As discussed in the first episode, Skanda actually stopped doing drag for 7 years when she lost her motivation in the art form, and only got back into it for Drag Race Italia. Her choice is vindicated when her self-sewn Little Italy dress is positively received by the jury.
  • Sibling Murder: Her outfit for the Drag Horoscope runway, inspired by her star sign Gemini, is a little girl jealous of her twin sister's desire to be on Drag Race, but who eventually acquiesced — by bringing her sister's severed head with her.

La Petite Noire (4th)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drit2lapetitenoire.jpg

Age: 32
From: Palermo, Sicily

"Pronti a leccarvi i baffi? Il dessert è servito. [jumps into a split] Bon ap-Petite." note

  • Bad Impressionists: Her Snatch Game impersonation of celebrity influencer and "digital entrepreneur" Chiara Ferragni falls deathly flat, though thankfully a stunning (Idiot) Plot Twist runway saves her bacon.
  • Dance Battler: She's a trained dancer, and gets to show this in her Top 2 lip-sync against Nehellenia in episode 5 as well as her Lip-Sync for Your Life against SkandaLove in episode 7. In both of them, La Petite is a bundle of energy that can command the stage with clean yet acrobatic moves.
  • Garden Garment: Her Flowery Meadow outfit is inspired by the dandelion: initially coming out in a fluffy yellow short dress, she takes it off with a sneeze to reveal a corset covered in white stems that recalls a mature seedhead.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: She becomes increasingly envious of the relatively better performances that her drag sisters La Diamond and Nehellenia are doing in the competition.
  • Little Black Dress: Her drag name invokes this trope, as it's an almost complete reference to the LBD's French name: "la petite robe noire".
  • Living Lava: Her (Idiot) Plot Twist outfit is a volcano-themed ensemble that starts with a rock-like brown gown emitting smoke and reveals into a lava-patterned catsuit, along with red facepaint. It's a homage to Mt. Etna, the largest active volcano in Italy situated in her home region of Sicily (though, hilariously, host Priscilla initially misinterprets it as Mt. Vesuvius from her own hometown of Naples).
  • Nubile Savage: She portrays a sexy cavegirl, dressed in the hide of a freshly-killed zebra, for the A Walk in Time runway.
  • One Degree of Separation: She was a part of the drag quartet "Doppelgangers" alongside her season mate Nehellenia and Italia Season 1's runner-up Farida Kant. Additionally, all of them belong to the same Rome drag family as La Diamond.
  • Western Zodiac: Her Drag Horoscope runway not only represents her star sign Taurus, but it's supposed to be a political message against corrida de toros (Spanish-style bullfighting) as well.

Aura Eternal (runner-up)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drit2auraeternal.jpg

Age: 24
From: Mondello (Palermo), Sicily

"[singing] So-oo-ono A-aaa-aaa-aaa-aaaa-aaaa-aura-aaaaa-aaaa!" note

  • The Baby of the Bunch: She's the youngest competitor this season, as well as the freshest in terms of experience as a drag queen.
  • Elegant Classical Musician: Not only is she a trained singer, she mentions she holds two conservatory degrees as well.
  • Garden Garment: For the Flowery Meadow runway, she comes out in an outfit in vivid tones of pink and purple that takes inspiration from the fuchsia flower and its distinct "upside-down" shape. The judges love it for its flattering proportions on Aura's petite body.
  • Happily Adopted: In a very heartwarming moment, La Diamond adopts her as her drag daughter in episode 6 after having grown close. This being said, Aura reveals that she had been "courted" by several of the queens for some time (Nehellenia, for example) and she was the one to choose La Diamond among them.
  • Jeanne d'Archétype: Her A Walk in Time runway is a silver and studded leather ensemble that pays homage to Jeanne d'Arc with a dash of beloved TV icon Raffaella Carrà.
  • Melismatic Vocals: Aura's main selling point is her voice, which she shows off during her entrance when she belts her name in a R&B-like fashion. In fact, after the season she went on to participate in the second season of Queen of the Universe, where she finished in 3rd place.
  • Prone to Tears: Her young age and relative inexperience make her quite insecure and prone to crying fits, like in the premiere episode after she places low for the week.
  • Shout-Out Theme Naming: "Aura" is a specific reference to the energy of the same name from Dragon Ball. She's one of two queens this season with a name inspired by manga/anime, alongside Nehellenia.
  • Silly Walk: She has a peculiar gait which is clocked by the judges from early on, walking forward without bending her knees. On good days it looks like a model's stride, on bad days like a drunk person wobblying on a pair of heels. Guest judge Alessandra Celentanonote  gives her a crash course on posture in Episode 4.
  • Western Zodiac: Her Drag Horoscope runway is a dark blue minidress with matching netting and tulle details, which is supposed to make her look "fishy" in reference to her star sign Pisces, though it takes a while for the judges to catch the connection.
  • Whole Costume Reference: Her (Idiot) Plot Twist runway is an impersonation of Sadako/Samara from The Ring.

Nehellenia (runner-up + Miss Congeniality)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drit2nehellenia.jpg

Age: 31
From: Rome, Lazio

"Sono venuta fin qui per stupirvi... in nome della Luna!" note

  • Always Second Best: Across the first five weeks of competition she consistently performs well but misses on the wins, made all the more bitter when it's her drag sisters La Diamond and La Petite Noire (the latter narrowly beating her in a Top 2 lip-sync) who get the top marks. Finally averted when Nehellenia wins the makeover challenge in episode 6.
  • Bad "Bad Acting": Her character for the The Secret... but not really! acting challenge is a parody of hopeless Telenovela actors, looking straight into the camera and Reading the Stage Directions Out Loud.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: Along with Tanissa Yoncè, she's the most curvaceous competitor this season of Drag Race.
  • Conjoined Twins: Her Drag Horoscope runway, which represents her star sign Gemini, is a velvet-blue gown through which a parasitic twin (with Nehellenia's own face out of drag) is pushing out of her chest. The judges' reactions are mixed — Tommaso is quite nitpicky on the lack of silhouette and the details, Chiara appreciates more Nehellenia delivering a more somber and grotesque look instead of her signature Camp.
  • Daddy's Girl: She states that she used to be emotionally distant from her father, worried that he wouldn't accept her for what she was, but that changed when he attended her first ever performance in drag (at the club where both of them worked) and he proudly complimented her backstage. Now, she says, her dad is her biggest supporter.
  • Garden Garment: On the Flowery Meadow runway she's an Anthropomorphic Personification of a greenhouse, wearing a sheer cage dress filled with peonies.
  • Girls With Mustaches: Her Drag in Sport makeover look is inspired by fencing, and when she takes off her mask she reveals a long, curled moustache in the same lilac color as her wig. The judges love this detail, together with her and her partner's looks, and she wins the challenge.
  • Nice Girl: She almost never has a bad word to say about her competitors, and in fact is quick to reassure Aura when the latter has an emotional moment in the first episode. Unsurprisingly, Nehellenia gets crowned Miss Congeniality come the finale.
  • No-Damage Run: Nehellenia is one of a select group of queens across the entire Drag Race franchise who never placed below safe, alongside her season mate La Diamond.
  • No Indoor Voice: Nehellenia herself is a very pleasant girl, but she's inclined to play this kind of character in the challenges. This gets Exaggerated with her Snatch Game impersonation of trash icon Elenoire Ferruzzi, who spends a good chunk of the challenge straight up screaming.
  • One Degree of Separation: She was a part of the drag quartet "Doppelgangers" alongside her season mate La Petite Noire and Italia Season 1's runner-up Farida Kant. Additionally, all of them belong to the same Rome drag family as La Diamond.
  • The Pratfall: For the first mini-challenge, the queens have to do a photoshoot in a car wash. Nehellenia comes to the set with great confidence... and then she slips on the soapy floor and falls to the ground.
  • Prone to Tears: Nehellenia wears her emotions on her sleeve and there are many moments in which she easily chokes up, either with tears of sadness or joy.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: "Nehellenia" comes both from the Germanic/Celtic goddess Nehalennia and also from Queen Nehelenia from Sailor Moon. This makes her one of two queens this season with a name taken from manga/anime, next to Aura Eternal.
  • The Show Must Go On: Hilariously, after her pratfall in the first episode photoshoot, she immediately strikes a pose and screams to the photographer to keep taking pictures as if it was all intended!
  • Wardrobe Malfunction: Her heel breaks off during her Top 2 lip-sync against La Petite Noire, and even though this doesn't faze Nehellenia she narrowly loses the dance-off against her opponent.

La Diamond (winner)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/drit2ladiamond.jpg

Age: 34
From: Riesi (Caltanissetta), Sicily

"Le stagioni passano. Le regine vanno, le regine vengono. Solo La Diamond è per sempre." note

  • The Ace: Enters the werkroom with a sizable reputation, is the first queen to win four challenges on Drag Race Italia, including the coveted Snatch Game, never places below safe, and is crowned the winner come the finale.
  • Bait-and-Switch: Comes to Snatch Game in the role of "the Queen", with a handbag and a large lady's hat covering her face. As the challenge starts, it looks like she will be portraying Elizabeth II... until she pulls the hat off and reveals her actual impersonation of Cristiano Malgioglio, iconic queer singer and tv personality and self-proclaimed "queen" of Italian media.
  • Bling of War: Her Drag Horoscope outfit is a bedazzled suit of armour completely dripping in crystals, with matching sword, cape, and horned helmet to represent her star sign Taurus.
  • Cactus Person: Her Flowery Meadow runway is an inspired cross between a 1990s Berlin techno club-goer and a cactus in bloom.
  • Consummate Professional: The judges note how La Diamond's great performance in the competition derives from her taking each challenge with the utmost seriousness and doing her homework, and jokingly describe her as a "nerd".
  • No-Damage Run: La Diamond is one of a select group of queens across the entire Drag Race franchise who never placed below safe, alongside her season mate Nehellenia.
  • Off with His Head!: Her A Walk in Time outfit, which she declares being her own favourite, is a Pimped-Out Dress decorated with flowers, fruits and jewels, though in a camp-horror move it's accompanied by a freshly-severed head that references the "Moor's Head" pottery from her homeland of Sicily.note
  • One Degree of Separation: She comes from the same Rome drag family as her season mates Nehellenia and La Petite Noire, as well as Italia Season 1's runner-up Farida Kant.
  • Plant Person: Her winning outfit for the premiere episode Little Italy design challenge includes a facekini made up of different vegetables in a send-up of painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo.
  • Phony Psychic: She aces the Fortune Teller challenge by playing a Sicilian fortune teller who goes head-to-head with the requests of her client (her close friend and Season 1's runner-up Farida Kant), before peddling her trinkets to the judges in attendance.
  • Renaissance Woman: She states she was drawn to drag as a "container" for her many different artistic interests, and it shows: her four challenge wins include dress-making, improv, and stand-up comedy.
  • Team Mom: She's the oldest contestant of the season, as well as a mainstay of the Roman drag scene, and she's the go-to person for advice among her peers. Taken a step further when she adopts Aura as her drag daughter in episode 6.
  • Textile Work Is Feminine: Aces the first episode of the season — a design challenge based on Italian artists — in a self-sewn look inspired by Giuseppe Arcimboldo's "Summer".
  • Visual Pun: During her winning turn as a fortune teller in Episode 4's challenge, she declares "let's bring out the tarot!" before pulling out... two oranges.note
  • Woman on Fire: During the Fortune Teller challenge, her sleeve catches on fire on one of the table's lit candles. Always the professional, La Diamond snuffs the fire out and continues without breaking character.
