The protagonist. A hard-working man that was born with no supernatural energy, impeaching him from joining the Izanagi Forces until he met Kusanagi.

A gentle mononoke who dedicates himself to help and protect others from other mononoke.

• Voluntary Shapeshifting: Kusanagi's main ability is this, mainly transforming into a sword for Dora to use in battle, and a pair of headphones to stay incognito while they're in public. Aside from that, there seems to be no limit to what Kusanagi can turn into, other forms so far including a wall, a handbag, a bicycle helmet, and a giant fan.

• Attention Whore: Ujii really wishes to be praised and respected by the general public and others, and is generally mad whenever he doesn't get as much love and praise as he thinks he deserves.
• Green-Eyed Monster: When his underlings get a friendship going with Naotora, he is mad about how quickly they got well together and are already calling her by her first name. Despite acknowledging how fruitful it is for her to be teaching and helping them improve, he wishes the others were just as friendly and forward with him.

Naotora Kamiizumi / "Berzerker"

Berzerker

A shy, withdrawn Samurai Officer. After hearing about Dora's success and exploits, she falls for him and takes him and Kusanagi as inspiration to get out of her depressive episode.

• First-Name Basis: She insists on being on this with Dora, turning down his request to call her for her last name as a sign of respect for her position.

Kanbeh

A mysterious mononoke with human appearance. He is working with a samurai to destroy all samurai officers and take Kusanagi and Dora's powers for an unknown endgoal.
