- Bash Brothers: With Ifrit. When questioned on what is the nature of their relationship they proclaim they are comrades.
- Beware the Nice Ones: It's been established in-game that he is kind to almost everybody he meets, is unconditionally loyal to his father, but his sense of justice and hotheadedness leads him towards reckless decisions, such as going after the entire World Council when he thinks his father died in a lab explosion.
- Cute Little Fangs: One is visible when he smiles.◊
- Defeat Means Friendship: After his fight with Bedivere the two become good friends.
- Iconic Item: The earring he wears was given to him by Pavlov in order for Akane to find the resolve to fight again.
- I Will Find You: His main goal in heading towards the Divine Gate is to find his father.
- Like Father, Like Son: When his mother gives him the gauntlets his father owned she notes that he really is his father's son.
- Sleeves Are for Wimps: His 6★ form outfit.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Chilled tomatoes.
- Tragic Keepsake: Subverted with the gauntlets he inherited from his father as it is quickly revealed that his father faked his own death.
- In his 7★ form he wears a dog tag that used to belong to Youkou.
- "Well Done, Son" Guy: After finding out the truth about his father and being defeated in battle by him, he dedicates himself to getting stronger so that he may rise above him.

- Abusive Parent: It is explained in one of his stories that his parents were abusive to him as part of a plan to make him one of the Devil Kings needed to protect the leader of a certain cult they were a part of, while preferring his younger brother.
- The Atoner: When his brother killed their parents, he took responsibility by taking his identity in order to atone for his sins.
- Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl: Him and Undine.
- Chick Magnet: His whole team is comprised of girls, to the point where even Hamlet accuses him of being one.
- Declaration of Protection: Swore to protect his younger brother, which leads him to take responsibility for their parents death.
- Does Not Like Spam: Doesn't like any kind of warm food.
- Dual Wielding: Wields two katanas starting from his 6★ form.
- Heroic BSoD: With Undine, Mermaid, Ruri and Veronica dead he can’t find the strength to continue fighting. Quickly recovers when Undine comes back to him as a guardian spirit.
- Kimono Is Traditional: Justified in his Sunday's best unit, where he wears a haregi for the new year.
- Love Triangle: With Ono no Komachi and Undine, in the beginning it's a Type 3 as he shows no explicit interest in either but he then realizes he loves Undine and it turns into a Type 4.
- Making a Splash
- Mistaken for Murderer: Ruri mistook him for his brother Ariton, who she claimed she saw during the events of the Blue Christmas. She then realizes it was a mistake on her part as they do not have the same smell.
- Played with in that he even manages to convince himself he really did kill his parents, until meeting Ice Edge made him doubt his memories.
- Perpetual Frowner: All of his ingame art depict him frowning.
- Self-Made Orphan: Claims to have killed his own parents, in reality it was his younger brother.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Saba sushi.
- Tragic Keepsake: Several in his 7★ form, including Undine’s suspenders, and Ruri’s bracelet combined with Mermaid’s necklace to make a bracelet.
- The Unfavorite: His parents neglected and abused him when he was younger, preferring his younger twin brother.

- Boyish Short Hair: Has short hair as opposed to Yukari and Hikari to emphasize her tomboy personality.
- Defeat Means Friendship: After her fight with Lamorak the two become good friends and hope to see each other again.
- Modesty Shorts: In her Spring Breeze unit she wears shorts under her school uniform.
- Must Make Amends: Her goal is to get to the Divine Gate so that she may meet Dorothy again and apologize to her.
- Tan Lines: Visible in her summer unit.
- Tomboy and Girly Girl: The tomboy to Dorothy's girly girl.
- Tragic Keepsake: She wears in her 7★ form Dorothy's scrunchie as a wristband, and Sylph’s bun covers on her hoodie.
Hikari

- Fantastic Racism: The Fairies in her kingdom dislike her because she’s half human.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold
- Idiot Hair: Used to emphasize her seemingly naive personality.
- Long-Lost Relative: Is Morgan's sister and Arthur's half sister, sharing Oberon as their father.
- Not Quite Human: Is half Fairy
- Parental Abandonment: Subverted when it is revealed that Oberon is her father. Her mother's whereabouts are still unknown.
- Rightful King Returns: After the death of Titania she takes her seat at the throne of Celestia, a position her father used to have.
- Royals Who Actually Do Something: Is actually trying to better the Fairy World, and it is explained in her Halloween unit that she is trying to get to know the fairies by hosting a party.
- Stepford Smiler: In the beginning her cheerful disposition is only so that those around her won't falter. Eventually she learns to smile for herself.
- Sexy Santa Dress: Show wearing one in promotional art.◊

- Does Not Like Men: Word of God revealed during DENGEKI’S Fight! Bishoujo Character Election that she doesn’t have a boyfriend because she dislikes men.
- Kimono Is Traditional: Justified in her summer festival unit, where she wears a purple yukata.
- Not Quite Human: Is half Demon

- Proper Tights With Skirt: In her 4-6★ outfits.

- Authority in Name Only: Is given one of the highest positions in the World Council, however he is given this position because he can be monitored closely and strips him of his freedom. Rendering him useless to stop the war between Celestia and Hellistia.
- Distressed Dude: It has been repeatedly implied that Ginji’s position in the World Council is worse than a punishment.
- Interspecies Romance: Has a crush on Tokiwa who is a beast.
- Lack of Empathy: In the beginning he didn’t care about anything or anyone, wanting everything to return to nothingness. Eventually he grows out of this viewpoint.
- Love at First Sight: Falls in love with Tokiwa upon meeting him, however he doesn't know he's a boy.
- Luminescent Blush: In his White Tuxedo unit.
- Navel-Deep Neckline: A male example: In his 6★ form his jumpsuit is unzipped low enough to achieve this look.
- Surfer Dude: Has the looks of one in his summer unit, although the story reveals he isn’t particularly good at surfing.
- The Generic Guy: Claims to be this in comparison to his brothers.
