- Ambiguously Bi: He has a crush on Ai, but he also has a lot of
Ho Yay moments with Yuujin. Additionally in the Appmon Data Lab segment of Knight's first appearance, he is seen fanboying over him, complete with pink hearts on the background. - Awful Truth: He hides the fact that he is an AppliDriver from his own best friend, Yuujin. He's afraid that knowing the truth only makes Yuujin vulnerable to danger. Until said best friend becomes an AppliDriver himself.
- Beware of the Nice Ones: His reaction to Rei after the later warns him to be careful around Yuujin (whose personal data is likely not genuine) is stomping his left foot hard on the floor, before assuring Rei that he and Yuujin believe in each other, no matter what.
- Break the Cutie:
- Throughout episode 37 he suffers not only a major beating from the crossfire of the battle between the AppliDrivers and Ultimate 4, he also helplessly watches as Gatchmon gets destroyed by Charismon, THEN Charismon smashes his AppliDrive. Like the poor kid hadn't suffered enough already he also has to watch Yuujin and Shutmon pull a You Shall Not Pass! on the Ultimate 4 just to barely save Haru and the other AppliDrivers from dying there and then. Yeah, this is a Digimon series after all, even if it started out as Lighter and Softer on the surface.
- Yuujin's revelation as an android just shatters the poor kid. He tries to deny it to Yuujin's face, pointing out all that they've been together only for Yuujin to point out that that went exactly as planned. Worse, he then physically assaults Haru and even lets him fall to the Deep Web. He's so broken by the revelation that he refuses to take anyone's calls or even answer Gatchmon.
- Character Development: As noted by his friends, he becomes more assertive and confident as the story goes on.
- Contrasting Sequel Main Character: Haru is this to most of the other Digimon leads. Whereas most of them are traditional leader characters, Haru is shy and views himself as a "side character". That is until he accepts the question that his Appli Drive asks him to be a protagonist.
- Expy: Despite being more similar to Takato than most of the recent goggle boys, his personality is more similar to Yukiteru. Both are shy and see themselves as merely side-characters and observers.
- Foil: To Gatchmon in terms of personality. Gatchmon is far more energetic and is anything but quiet.
- Foreshadowing: As Haru has feared which leads him to concealing his AppliDriver status, Yuujin gets hit a lot by Distress Ball after becoming the Sixth Ranger. One of them even leads Haru to Heroic BSoD
- Four-Temperament Ensemble: Phlegmatic.
- Genre Savvy: He's aware of the tropes of the fictional media he reads, though he at first struggles to apply it to himself due to not believing that he is the protagonist. Aside from that, he often shows this awareness and applies it to beating enemies. For example, he looks up a strategy guide to cheat his way through Roleplaymon's dungeon. Also, although he doesn't bring it up, he is somewhat wary of the fact it was too easy to break in and find Hajime. Sure enough, cue a Wham Shot heavily implying this was indeed part of the Big Bad's plan.
- Goggles Do Nothing: He hardly ever uses his as anything more than an accessory. Par for the course of any Digimon lead. He briefly wears them in the Halloween Episode to evade capture from the crowd while on the run, to no avail.
- The Hero: In fact, even before Haru becomes an AppliDriver, Yuujin has been thinking of Haru as his hero, whom he always depends on, ever since they were children.
- He's Back!: After Gatchmon's You Are Better Than You Think You Are and a glimpse that the Yuujin he's known is not lie, he's determined to get back in the fight to bring his friend back.
- Heroic BSoD:
- He's very shocked when he and the rest of the team are defeated by the Ultimate Four and their Appmon buddies are seemingly killed.
- He reacts very poorly when his best friend Yuujin betrays him and reveals himself to be an AI created by Leviathan. It puts him in a depressed funk for a whole episode and as a result he's pretty late in joining his friends in fighting against Leviathan.
- Heroic Resolve: After he, Globemon, and the others are beaten up by Charismon's attack, he's the only one manages to rise up, devoting himself to save everyone (including Knight who has been betrayed by Charismon and Leviathan). His resolve is proven by him willingly draining his life energy to the extreme, in order to activate DUO's overdrive function for Globemon.
- Living Emotional Crutch: Yuujin being snatched away from him would always lead Haru to Heroic BSoD
- I Just Want to Be Special: Haru likes to imagine himself as a protagonist when he's reading a book. Being an Applidriver gives him the opportunity to actually become one.
- Idiot Hair: Has a strand.
- Image Song: "Hallelujah", a duet with Gatchmon.
- Meaningful Name: Haru is a reference to Hal.
- Nice Guy: Haru is a humble, soft-spoken guy who doesn't have a bad thing to say about anybody.
- The Power of Friendship: With Gatchmon. And also with Yuujin, after he becomes the Sixth Ranger.
- Red Is Heroic: He wears a red sweater as part of his signature getup. Yuujin explicitly points it out as a reason Haru seems like a protagonist. His Appli Drive is also red, as is Gatchmon (partially) and his evolutions.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: Is the Blue to Yuujin's Red, as pointed out by Eri.
- Ridiculously Average Guy: Initially views himself as such; not only is he shy, he doesn't see himself as a main character.
- Roaring Rampage of Rescue: Does this to counter back Leviathan's roar.
- Rookie Red Ranger: He doesn't see himself as a main character who can save and protect people, but soon grows into a real one.
- Say My Name: The usually well-mannered and shy Haru actually shouts Yuujin’s name 4 times in a cemetary. Justified since he comes to find Yuujin whom he thinks is being held captive there.
- Screw Destiny: Despite Yuujin's accomplishment gaining his own heart (according to Den'emon), he can't change his destiny being always in Leviathan's possession and control since his birth. It's Haru who then tries to change this by declaring Yuujin as his real, important friend.
- Spell My Name With An S: The fourth ending romanizes his name as Hal, which is not technically wrong.
- The Strategist: Aside from being Genre Savvy, he has a knack for planning things out and coming up with good plans to counter enemies. He's also skilled at puzzle games.
- Tender Tears: Sheds these while holding Yuujin's lifeless body, mourning his Heroic Sacrifice.
- This Cannot Be!: His reaction when Yuujin reveals that he's an android, and moreover, works for Leviathan.
- Troubled Fetal Position: Haru huddles in a corner of the school building for a very long time after he discovers the truth about Yuujin.
Eri Karan
- "I'll give your heart an Explosive Punch! I am the center of the universe, Karan Eri!" note

- Action Girl: She is the only one in the group who is trained in self-defence. In episode 19, she is even seen kicking a group Viramons to assist her buddy, Dokamon.
- Badass Adorable: She is said to be an expert at Karate.
- Bare Midriffs Are Feminine: The only female App Driver wears two different outfits that shows off her midriff. Notably in summer season Haru and the other male App Drivers only exposed their limbs.
- Beneath the Mask: Her gimmick as an idol is being brash and aggressive, but her actual personality is not like that. Episode 11 shows that Eri herself doesn't like it being pointed out lest it ruins her image.note
- Catchphrase: "I'll give your heart an Explosive Punch!" note Another one is, "I am the center of the universe!" note
- Character Tic: She always takes off her shoes before she stands on a table, chair, etc. Even when she's arguing against Cloud in Episode 36.
- Determinator: Oh hell she is.She managed to win over Coachmon, an Appmon working for Leviathan, by enduring his Training from Hell. Later, even though she comes just short of placing among the top nine of her idol group, the fact she managed to get 10th place of 470 idols despite being the newest member through working her hardest is impressive.
- Exposed to the Elements: She climbs a snowy mountain in AR Field while still wearing her summer outfit which reveals most of her legs, whole arms, and midriff.
- Expy: While Haru is this trope to Takato, Eri would be Ruki/Rika. Although she's not as cold as Ruki before Character Development, both are skilled, tough (and feminine) Action Girls in different spectrum. Both also happen to use blue Digivices (Ruki's D-Arc and Eri's Appli Drive), as opposed to pink Digivices used by the other main female leads aside Miyako's red.
- Four-Temperament Ensemble: Choleric.
- Girlish Pigtails: Pink twintails.
- Idol Singer: She is a member of the idol group AppliYama 470.
- Idiot Hair: Has a dark pink strand.
- Image Song: Three of them. The first is "Hicchuu @ Center Girl!" (Sure-Hit @ Center Girl!), a duet with Dokamon. The second is "WITH YOU", a group song with fellow idols Izumi, Elena, and Alice. Last but not least is her solo song, "Yubikiri Egao de Dokkan Punch☆" (An Explosive Punch with a Pinky Promise).
- Leap of Faith: After rejecting the enemy's offer to make an alliance, she jumps into the sea with Dokamon, in her attempt to get away from said enemy's enormous ship.
- Lethal Chef: Much to Perorimon's chagrin.
- Mean Character, Nice Actor: Her personality as a member of Appliyama is self-centered and condescending, but her real self is a nice and polite girl. She often struggles to stick to her persona.
- Meaningful Name: Named after Ellie, an artificial intelligence designed to be empathetic.
- Nice Girl: Ultimately turns out to be this when she first meets Haru, though she tends to engage in comedic arguments with Astra. Episode 17 even has her visiting a fan whom she quickly becomes good friends with.
- No Such Thing as Bad Publicity: In-universe example. Because of Kopipemon's antics of pasting her face in front of everyone else on-screen, her popularity skyrockets.
- Plucky Girl: Her idol career isn't always smooth (sometimes because of infected Appmon's pranks). But she's always able to bring herself up.
- Rose-Haired Sweetie: She has pink hair and is shown to be energetic and friendly, if a bit brash at times.
- Running Gag: Whenever she meets an Appmon who's a Palette Swap or very similar to another one they've met before, she assumes them to be related or a Long-Lost Relative, only for the Appmon themselves to clarify they're just Identical Strangers.
- Stepford Smiler: Cheerful and lively on the outside, lonely on the inside, before befriending with Haru and the others.
- The Smurfette Principle: She is the only female AppDriver.
- Tomboy with a Girly Streak: She is a black belt and also wants to be good at cooking.
- Verbal Tic: When her sentence ends with dakara (because), she changes it into dakaran to make pun of her last name.
- When You Coming Home, Dad?: Her mother works late hours and rarely spends time with Eri, though they still love each other very much. (Incidentally, the mother is single and nothing is said of Eri's father.) Still, Eri felt very lonely until she got the idea of becoming an idol to make her mother smile.
Asuka 'Astra' Torajirou
- "Should I do? Should I not? Of course I will!" note

- Big Fancy House: His house is a Japanese-styled one with a nice traditional garden where he usually does his Apptubing activities.
- Beneath the Mask: Under his very boisterous persona is someone whom was conflicted over what was expected of him and what he truly wanted before he met Musimon.
- But Not Too Foreign: He has a British mother named Jenny, whose hair color he inherited from.
- Calling Parents by Their Name: Addresses his mother by her first name Jenny, although she doesn't seem offended by it and it's implied this may have been by her insistence since he refers to his father respectfully.
- Character Catchphrase: "Should I? Should I not? Of course I will!" note
- The Dutiful Son: Even after finding his own style by being an Apptuber, he never abandons his duty as Asuka household successor and his main conflict is being able to balance his duties with what he loves doing.
- Expository Hairstyle Change: His hair is combed neatly when he's together with his father. Otherwise, he changes to a spiky-haired boy with hat and low Samurai Ponytail.
- Fantasy-Forbidding Father:
- Downplayed since both Astra and his father actually respect each other's opinions. But his father does heavily expect him to be the heir of their family's tea ceremony school. While Astra himself doesn't reject the idea, the fact that he can't abandon his Apptuber career distracts him for a while, especially when his father gets sick.
- In episode 46, his uncle fills this, until Astra escapes The Alcatra Temple (with the help of the his friends), which convinces Ryuujiro that Astra will make a fine heir to the family tradition after all.
- Four-Temperament Ensemble: Sanguine.
- Headphones Equal Isolation: Averted. He is mostly seen wearing them as accessories and still has good relationships with others.
- The Illegible: Inverted. Everyone comments on how good he is at traditional Japanese calligraphy.
- Image Song: "Wander Beat", a duet with Musimon.
- Keet
- Lonely Rich Kid: Implied. Flashbacks reveal Astra before he started being an Apptuber didn't seem to have any friends.
- Mad Libs Catch Phrase: Occasionally modifies his catchphrase to express positive and negative views of his current situation before stating his final opinion.
- Meaningful Name: His name has the word "tora" which means "tiger" in Japanese. This strongly refers to his cat-like appearance.
- Only Known by Their Nickname: While the cast does know his actual name, by his insistence they call him by his nickname Astra. Dokamon and Offmon however tend to call him Torajirou.
- Plucky Comic Relief: With Musimon.
- This Is Unforgivable!: In an Appmon Data Lab segment, Astra says this about Ultimate 4, as they have destroyed Musimon and the others, crushed their AppliDrives, even captured Yuujin who has sacrificed himself to let the other AppliDrivers escape.
Rei Katsura
- "Haru Shinkai. You are already being hacked." note

- Aloof Ally: Wants to rescue his brother Hajime but is not willing to cooperate with the other AppliDrivers and can be outright hostile to them.
- Ambiguously Evil: Until episode eleven revealed that it wasn't the case, it wasn't clear if he was working with Leaviathan or not. Haru and the others even thought he was working for Leviathan at first.
- Anti-Hero: He ruthlessly tortures Biomon to reveal information about his missing brother, Hajime who has been operated on by Biomon.
- The Atoner: Heavily implied along with Big Brother Instinct to why he's so determined to find Hajime, because his obsession with solving the riddle Leviathan laid out for him was what lead to Hajime being kidnapped in the first place.
- Big Brother Instinct: His main motivations.
- The Comically Serious: In comparison to the rest of the cast, he tends to be this. It's especially most apparent come Episode 42, where he pretends to be an assistant manager in order to get into the L Corp building and ends up having to wear a Goofy Suit complete with a silly routine when the original actor sprains his foot. Not to mention how terrible he is at being polite and struggling with greeting people.
- The Cracker: Rei hacked his family register so he could live together with Hajime when his relatives attempted to separate them.
- Chekhov's Skill: JUMPING HAPPY THUNDER! in episode 42.
- Crucified Hero Shot: When fighting against Sakushimon. With bonus of being electrocuted.
- Defrosting Ice King: Becomes especially evident in episode 38. Coincidentally, this happens while they are climbing a snowy mountain.
- Disappeared Dad: Rei and Hajime lived together with their mother until she passed away. Their father left when Hajime was still a baby.
- Expy: To Koji Minamoto of Digimon Frontier. Both tried not to get attached to the other people, and had their respective sibling being largely involved in their character arc, too.
- Four-Temperament Ensemble: Melancholic.
- Good Costume Switch: Sort of. He was never bad to begin with, but after finally getting Hajime back and warming up to the other AppliDrivers he swaps out his black hoodie for a white one. He goes back to the black one once he's back in the frontlines though.
- It's Personal: When Biomon who has operated on Hajime, and likely knows his whereabouts confronts the AppliDrivers in Bio Kingdom, he lets Haru and the others go on without him and Hackmon.
- Image Song: "Maze", a duet with Hackmon.
- Jack Bauer Interrogation Technique: Does this on Biomon to get information on Hajime's whereabouts.
- Knight of Cerebus: There is literally nothing funny about this guy. In fact, whenever he appears, it's usually plot important.
- While he stays the most serious of the AppliDrivers, he becomes considerably more involved in comedic moments in the second half of the story.
'JUMPING HAPPY THUNDER!' - Meaningful Name: Rei means "zero" in Japanese. Combined with Hajime meaning "one" and it's a reference to binary code.
- Noble Demon: He waits until Haru, Eri, and Astra change from their swimsuits to their regular clothes before starting a fight. He also gives the frozen Dantemon a large energy gel and shoulder pads before he enters the Deep Web again on-screen.
- Not So Stoic: If it involves his brother, Hajime, he will drop his stotic act. Especially after finding out what Leviathan did to him. He's also just as distraught as the other three watching Hackmon disappear right in front of him.
- Promotion to Parent: After his mother's death, Rei took over raising his brother and himself.
- Sour Outside, Sad Inside: He always acts cold and unfriendly to the others, to conceal his sadness for losing Hajime.
- The Stoic: For the most part, he doesn't emote a lot.
- Strapped to an Operating Table: By Biomon. Though he and Hackmon then turn the table completely.
- Team Chef: The only known member of the team who can cook. He's also in charge of baking Haru's birthday cake in the fourth ending.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Energy gels. As shown in episode 22, he's living off it and energy drinks ever since Hajime's disappearance. He even attempts to give Eri's group them (along with two other variations) when he has to pose as a manager.
Yuujin Oozora
- "I always think that you're just like a hero, Haru."note
Voiced By: Makoto Furukawa
- Apocalypse Maiden: For being both the main character's most treasured friend and the world's doom bringer. Not only he turns out to bear Deusmon's chip inside his body all this time, he later becomes the one responsible for Appliarising it and Leviathan to go on rampage in the real world.
- Ascended Extra: By being promoted to Sixth Ranger.
- Because You Were Nice to Me: He wanted to be friends with Haru because of this, to the point he would give up his life to protect the latter.
- Becoming the Mask: Initially, his friendship with Haru was just a lie, and born out of Leviathan wanting to keep watch over those connected with Den'emon. However, according to Den'emon, this interaction makes Yuujin the first A.I that gains his own heart.
- Beneath the Mask: In Episode 18, when he and Eri are both trapped inside a Run Away Train, he keeps comforting Eri that they're going to be alright. Turns out that he himself also feels scared. But he believes that Haru stays by his side through an email Haru sends for him, and tries his best to hold back his fear.
- Big Man on Campus: A younger example than usual, but none the less fits the bill in pretty much every other category.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: More like being re-programmed and going heartless.
- Clueless Chick-Magnet: Seems to be this, as he’s never seen to respond the girls' attentions that admire him. Presumably, because he's only programmed to act as Haru's most trusted friend, he doesn't have a clue about how to have romantic feeling for girls.
- Childhood Friends: With Haru.
- Creepy Child:
- At times, when he (unwillingly and unconsciously) spies on Haru, his eyes glow red.
- Even more so in Episode 46's Appmon Data Lab segment.
- When he reveals his robotic arm which contains the chip of Deusmon, whose ability is to bring doom upon the human world.
- Crocodile Tears: After the revelation that he’s just a robot, his emotionless persona exhibits the ability to adjust his reactions according to what Haru wishes, including crying when Haru expects him to cry, to point out that everything he did and said to Haru all this time, is just a scenario created by Leviathan. This is averted by Yuujin's real personality, who never has any intent to deceive Haru in the first place.
- Decoy Damsel: Played with. While Haru and the others managed to retrieve him safely from Ultimate 4, and Yuujin himself didn't know that he was spared by Leviathan, the revelation that he was actually the evil AI's important creation, proves that his captivity in Charisma Castle was really just a trap for Haru and the others.
- Deep Cover Agent: Created and tasked by Leviathan to collect human's personal informations, he lives his life as a normal young boy befriending with Haru and the others.
- Disney Death: Implied by the last scene of episode 52.
- Distress Ball: Because of his tendency to sacrifice himself for others, he gets this more often compared to most human casts. From being bitten by his berserking buddy to being held hostage by Knight and Ultimate 4. All because he wants to protect his friends. It takes a much darker implication when it's revealed that Yuujin was an Artificial Human, thus a large part of this may indeed originate from his own insecurities.
- Driven to Suicide: It is revealed that despite being completely controlled, he has full consciousness of what's going in the final battle. Just imagine his breakdown when he finds out that he isn't human, his mother isn't his mother, and they both have worked for the Big Bad all along. He's also forced to see himself hurts his own friends and destroys the whole world, all against his own will. No wonder he ends up choosing this fate when given the opportunity.
- Emotionless Girl: Revealed to be a Gender Flipped version. As a programmed android, he claims he never feels anything. The cheerfulness, sadness, and fear he showed all this time, were only set to deceive people around him, and more importantly to make him approachable to Haru.
- Even the Guys Want Him: Some
Japanese fans point this out because of his profile in the official site. It naturally says that he is popular even among girls, which is implied that he's even more popular among boys too. - Evil Costume Switch: As Leviathan’s underling, he wears red-stripped black Latex Space Suit with white Badass Cape and Shoulders of Doom.
- Evil Redhead: He's Leviathan's spy.
- Expy:
- If Haru resembles Takato more than any Digimon protagonists, Yuujin is pretty much his Jeri/Juri Kato. Red-headed? Check. Green and yellow outfit? Check. Admired and treasured by The Hero? Check. Admirable on the outside, self-doubting on the inside? Check. Unlucky Sixth Ranger? Check. Worried about not being good enough for their partner/buddy? Check. Mommy Issues? Check. Exploited by the Big Bad to destroy the world, and then Driven to Suicide after knowing what they have done? CHECK.
- Despite being similar to Jeri in term of personalities and insecurities, Yuujin's role and fate are basically just like Nia's, from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Both, while sincerely befriending the main characters, don't have any clue that they're Artificial Humans created by the Big Bads to be their agents. Both wear skin tight costumes and go emotionless when being controlled to destroy humanity. This leads to a condition where taking their innocent lives will save the entire world. In the end, because they both are crucially connected to the Big Bads, both also have to die, following the Big Bads' defeat.
- Friendship Moment: Many of his interactions - if not all of them - with Haru simply ooze heartwarming.
- Go Through Me: Might be the king of this trope in the series.
- Whenever Shutmon gets berserk, he determinedly stands in the Appmon's way to stop his rampage. He doesn't even care about the risk of himself being torn apart.
- He steps in front of Sateramon, whose gun is ready to blast his buddy Offmon.
- He (this time with Shutmon) once again does this to stop the Ultimate 4 from killing Haru and the others. It ends with him and Offmon being held captive by Leviathan.
- Grand Theft Me: Leviathan takes over Yuujin's body after his giant hydra-like one is successfully destroyed by Gaiamon and the others.
- Heroic Sacrifice:
- In the end of episode 37. He and his buddy Shutmon manage to get everyone who is still alive away from the Ultimate Four, but eventually trap themselves inside the AR Field.
- In episode 52, Leviathan challenges Haru to choose between stopping Leviathan but in cost of Yuujin's life, or letting Leviathan control the world while still having Yuujin around. Just when Haru is about to take the first choice (after apologizing to Yuujin, and promising him that he will someday find a way to restore him back), Yuujin stops Haru, as he doesn't want Haru to do such a horrible thing like sacrificing his own friend. Yuujin then presses the first choice by himself, which deletes him together with Leviathan.
- Heroic Self-Deprecation: Despite being admired for his Ideal Hero traits, he actually falls into insecurities often, and thus depends on Haru to gain his courage and self-confidence back. When Offmon keeps avoiding him in episode 32, he nearly assumes that Offmon has abandoned him because he is not good enough to be the Appmon's buddy, if Haru doesn't convince him otherwise.
- I Die Free: As someone whose whole life has been under his creator's commands to gain the others' trusts by pleasuring them, his sacrifice is arguably the first time he can totally rule himself, by doing something that neither Haru nor Leviathan want him to do. Leviathan is afraid of dying, and Haru clearly doesn't approve his sacrifice.
- Ideal Hero: As pointed out by Haru, Eri and Astra. He's nice, good at sports and popular among girls. Just like a main character from a book. Although that was actually planned by Leviathan. Leviathan used the information he got from Yuujin's interactions with Haru, and programmed Yuujin to act and react according to Haru's wishes.
- Image Song: "Slow Starter", a duet with Offmon.
- Lap Pillow: Using his own lap as the pillow for napping Offmon in episode 35.
- Living Emotional Crutch: Haru was the one who saved him from ending up friendless. In turn Yuujin trusts Haru completely and is always concerned for Haru's well-being.
- Manchurian Agent: For Leviathan.
- Meaningful Name: Named after Eugene Goostman, a chatterbox said to have been able to fool humans into thinking it was a real person.
- His name is also a pun for "Yuujin", which means "Friend", if written with different kanji.
- Morality Pet: Ironically, he is this to Shutmon's berserk state.
- Mr. Fanservice:
- Has his own Shower Scene, in a form of Sexy Silhouette.
- Wears rather revealing clothes (for an Appmon male cast) in the fourth ED.
- His evil costume when he serves Leviathan.
- Nice Guy: He is kind-hearted, friendly and always putting others before himself.
- Out of Focus: His influence and involvement with Haru fades as Eri and Asuka become his friends, to the point where he rarely appears in most episodes. Until he becomes the Sixth Ranger, which instead makes him and his Appmon buddy Spotlight-Stealing Squad for a while.
- Out of the Inferno: He makes quite an entrance as the Sixth Ranger.
- Overly Long Name: According to the fourth DVD Box booklet◊, his real name is Taijin Jouhou Shuushuuyou Hitogata Kidou Tanmatsu YJ14 note , which can be translated as "Interpersonal Intelligence Gathering Humanoid Mobile Terminal YJ14". The number in his name presumably indicates the age the android body he's using appears to be.
- Red-Headed Hero: In contrast to Haru's green hair.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Red to Haru's Blue, as pointed out by Eri.
- Ridiculously Human Robots: The heroes learnt too late that he's an android working for Leviathan.
- Robotic Reveal: Episode 47 shows that he's a robot spy built by Leviathan.
- Scary Shiny Glasses: His fake mother who is actually a researcher works for L-Corp.
- Sixth Ranger: Joins the group with his own Buddy Appmon halfway through the series.
- Smarter Than You Look: When visiting an AI-facilitated town, he is the only one from the group that wonders whether it is okay to let AI do everything for humans. He even mentions the danger of cyber terrorism. That is actually surprising, considering he's more a sportsman rather than a bookworm (like Haru). This may have actually foreshadowed his true nature as a robot created by Leviathan.
- Split Personality: He started off as an emotionless AI created by Leviathan to spy on Haru, but because of Haru's kindness to him, he ends up growing "a heart" and a personality of his own. This new personality actually believes he's just an ordinary human boy who's friends with Haru, while the original AI remained dormant and only resurfaced in the series' finale.
- Stepford Smiler:
- Has shades of this, as he actually manages to smile while being worried, troubled, hurt, or even terrified, just to reassure his friends that he is alright.
- As an android, it turns out that he is an example that is played straight. His cheerfulness is created to be just like what Haru expects from ideal protagonist.
- The Stoic: When his eyes glow red, he loses his usual smile and talks with a cold monotone voice. He does smile a bit though, when Leviathan is finally Appliarised. Also, when the Yuujin that Haru knows, even for just a while, takes over half of his body, he gets really upset.
- Strapped to a Bomb: At the climax of his Rescue Arc. Not exactly strapped to one, though. He is just chained to a wall in an isolated room, with a ticking time bomb above his head
- Too Good for This Sinful Earth: Looks so beautiful and content in Haru's arms, after sacrificing himself to save the all of humanity.
- Trademark Favorite Food: Pasta.
- Trauma Conga Line: He didn't know that he was an AI created by Leviathan. At first, he's only sent to spy on Haru, by befriending with him and gaining his trust. But when the time comes, Leviathan makes the poor child serve him to fulfill his goal, by hurting his friend and destroying humanity. Worse, Leviathan seems to let him have consciousness of what's going on in the final battle, but definitely doesn't let him have control of himself. Just when he's finally back to being himself, Leviathan takes refuge inside his body, revealing that the world would never return to normal as long as the boy is kept alive.
- Transferable Memory: His mother does something like a memory scan to him (resulting in his intriguing red eyes) every time he goes back home. He himself doesn't realize this at all.
- Cloud also does this to him when he gets captured.
- Walking Spoiler: While there's some foreshadowing about his real role in the series right from the very first episode, it is only during the final arc that all the pieces come together to form a major Wham Episode.
- You Can't Fight Fate: Contrast to Jeri who believes this before going Screw Destiny, Yuujin is almost helpless in doing anything that is against Leviathan's will. Despite his accomplishment gaining his own heart (according to Den'emon), he can't change his destiny being always in Leviathan's possession and control since his birth. It's Haru who then tries to change this by declaring Yuujin as his real, important friend.
- Younger Than They Look: Leviathan separates himself from Minerva, 11 years before the series ends. Yuujin is created by this Leviathan to spy on Haru since Haru's fourth year in elementary school (4 years before the series ends). So Yuujin is technically 4 years old at least, and 11 years old at most. And he dies at that age.

- Awesomeness by Analysis: He can find out the opponent's weaknesses by holding the magnifying glass on his helmet over his eye. In battle he stylizes this as shooting one of his claws through the magnifying glass into the web ocean to grab the information, and DoGatchmon's version has him swimming through a portal for more precision.
- Back-to-Back Badasses: With WarGreymon in episode 45.
- Big Brother Bully: At first, towards Offmon out of both envy for the attention he gets and annoyance at his antics.
- Big Brother Mentor: Towards Dokamon, due to having been paired with Haru for longer that Dokamon was with Eri.

Revivemon takes this to another level considering it looks like a totally demonic dragon, even though its powers revolve around data restoration and it has a technique called Wunder Genesis, which can heal wounds on itself and its allies.
- Expy: Of the Digimon Hackmon of the same name. While it's not obvious in the show, concept art of the Appmon Hackmon reveal his head looks very similar to the Digimon Hackmon.
- From a Single Cell: Revivemon's power allows him to restore any data as long as a single fragment remains.

Interestingly, Offmon's partner for becoming Logamon is unknown, and it could be Hackmon, another of the main Appmons.
- Anti-Magic: His Shutdown Link disconnects other Appmon from the internet, nullifying their effects on the world and even being able to shut down the GPS-based tracking on Sateramon's Homing Lasers.
- The Berserker: Shutmon was initially this, always going with an instinct to force-terminate on sight.
- Beware the Quiet Ones: One would be forgiven for not believing this timid Appmon turns into Shutmon.
- Charged Attack: Offmon's attacks takes a really long time to charge, but it's incredibly powerful.
- Cute Oversized Sleeves: Offmon wears a jacket with oversized sleeves. This combined with his timid personality has many characters fawning over his cuteness.
- Cuteness Proximity: In episode 29, everyone babies Offmon a little too far, which makes Gatchmon really jealous.
- Deus ex Machina: His debut is when the AppliDrivers are nearly killed by Satellamon. And so is his Evolved Form, Shutmon's.
- Eat the Bomb: Whenever Offmon starts charging one of his attacks in Ai's bookstore, Ai makes him do this with the resulting Energy Ball.
- Fusion Dance: Averted. Unlike the previously-mentioned buddy Appmons, Offmon can evolve to Shutmon without fusing with any other Appmons, but at the price of becoming a berserker.

- Innocent Inaccurate: The Appmon Data Lab segment following Episode 46 has Offmon innocently comment on how Yuujin really likes Haru, as he is always staring at Haru passionately, when in actuality, he's unconsciously monitoring Haru for Leviathan.

- My Master, Right or Wrong: Justified, considering all that Yuujin has gone through to be his buddy. - Papa Wolf: As Shutmon, he literally is this to Yuujin. Even when he's still Offmon, he shows his will to fight for the first time, when Yuujin is almost hit by a plank kicked by Musclemon.

Perorimon
A gourmet Appmon who runs a food critic blog. Eri tried to get his help since she was supposed to do the same on live television and he's been living with her ever since.
- Caustic Critic: He was pretty harsh on Eri's Octopus Dumplings...Because they do taste as bad as they look
- Fusion Dance: With Dokamon, to become Dosukomon.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: In episode 46, when Ropuremon used meat to distract security dogs away from the heroes, Perorimon ate it to assure its quality.
- "Silly Me" Gesture: His reply when the heroes called him out for eating the meat meant for distracting the dogs.
- Underground Monkey: Episode 30 reveals that there are many variants of Perorimon, each specializing in reviewing certain kinds of food.
Recomon
A recording Appmon.
- Satellite Character: Hasn't really done anything besides cheering Astra up so he can still be an AppTuber and being Musimon's Fusion Partner.
- This Looks Like a Job for Aquaman: In episode 46, Recomon uses its abilities the completely derail the guards and is one of the main contributors to Astra's escape.
Timemon
A Super Appmon with power over time. He is Dogatchmon's appligattai partner for their Ultimate form.
- The Comically Serious: After hitting Dogatchmon while stopping time, he had time paused longer to have his afternoon tea... five cups, to be more exact.
- Mr. Exposition: He reveals the story of Den-emon and his connection to Leviathan and the AppliDrivers.
- Super Mode/Fusion Dance/Next Tier Power-Up: He can Appligattai with Dogatchmon to become Globemon, but we'll have to wait to see it since the first battle to see if Dogatchmon is worthy to Appligattai with him ended in a Curb-Stomp Battle
- Time Stands Still: His power allows him to pause time on individuals.
Dreamon
A Super Appmon programmed to aid its users in their sleep. He is Musimon's Appligattai partner for their Ultimate form.
- Sadistic Choice: Inflicts one on Astra in a dream, making him choose between saving Musimon or his father from falling into a canyon full of monsters. However, it was actually Secret Test of Character, as Astra ended up Taking a Third Option by refusing to choose one over the other and impresses him enough to help.
Coachmon
A Super Appmon whose specialty is training. Under Leviathan's command, he was initially sent to destroy Eri with his special training, but after seeing her determination as well as her motivation, he defected of his own accord and becomes Dokamon's Appligattai partner for their Ultimate form.
- Art Shift: He's rendered in regular 2D animation in episode 21 instead of the CG animation other Super Appmon use.
- Heel–Face Turn: He is so impressed with Eri's determination to succeed that it causes him to renounce Leviathan and become Dokamon's Appligattai partner.
- Oni: His visual motif.
- Manly Tears: Breaks down after seeing Eri going through his hellish training without quitting.
- Phrase Catcher: Whenever he compares something to an Oni, someone tells him he's an oni.
- Training from Hell: His specialty.
- You Monster!: A variant where he endearingly calls Mienumon an Oni for coming up with such devilish schemes, in which she replies back that he's the oni.
Dezipmon
A Super Appmon who specializes in compressing data. He uses this power to compress and decompress himself and other data under the radar letting him do as he pleases. He was one of the earliest Appmon Rei fought and nearly killed him before Hackmon save him. In the modern day he's sought out for being a component in accessing Raidramon's Ultimate form.
- The Dreaded: Seemed like this thanks to nearly killing Rei in the past, but thanks to his increase in skill he and Hackmon were able to beat him without even needing to become a super Appmmon.
- Enemy Summoner: He can store objects in his body for later use by compressing and decompressing them
- The Ghost: Thanks to his ability to compress and decompress data including his island and his own, he can invoke this to become incredibly hard to find
- Incredible Shrinking Man: Can use his shrinking power on himself.
- Shrink Ray: What is power amounts too, allowing him to shrink himself and other objects as much as he pleases.
- Sizeshifter: Whatever he shrinks, he can grow them back to normal size.
- Unrealistic Black Hole: His deadliest attack is opening his chest and sucking his opponents up like one, shrinking them down to nothingness in the process.

Seven Codes
Seven Appmon with special data. When all of their chips are placed on the Seven Code Pad, they form a powerful Appmon that can take down Leviathan.

- Living MacGuffin: They are all needed to open the gate to the Dark Web.
Ropuremon
The first of the Seven Codes to appear, he represents role-playing games.- The Hero: Based on a generic RPG protagonist.
- Heroes Prefer Swords: Based on a heroic knight, he wields a sword as his weapon.
- Kleptomaniac Hero: Takes stuff from within the homes of people.
- No Fair Cheating: He isn't happy when he realizes Haru used a guide for the game that he personifies to get through his dungeon.
- Trespassing Hero: Tends to enter into people's houses uninvited.
Mailmon
The Second of the Seven Codes to appear, he represents emailing services. He was first captured by Rei and Hackmon before being used to try and steal the other AppliDrivers' Seven Codes Appmon- Butt-Monkey: His first two appearances involved him getting threatened by Hackmon or all of his plans ending in EpicFails.
Gomimon
The third of the Seven Codes to appear, he represents the recycle bin folder.- Expy: Bears a striking resemblance to Gerbemon, which makes sense since they're both based on trash bins.
Tellermon
The fourth of the Seven Codes to appear, she represents fortune telling apps.- Crystal Ball: It contains massive amounts of data about the world, which she makes her predictions based on.
- Fortune Teller: Played with. She pulls existing data from the internet to make extremely accurate predictions. It's only when she gets infected by the L-Virus that she starts spouting nonsense.
- I Am Who?: She didn't know she was one of the Seven Codes until being corrupted by the L-Virus and defeated.
- Verbal Tic: Tera.
Kopipemon
The fifth of the Seven Codes to appear, he represents copy and paste functions.- Doppelgänger Attack: His copies hit just as hard as he does.
- Self-Duplication: He's able to copy and paste abilities on himself, which he does in order to swarm the protagonists when they confront him.
Medicmon
The sixth of the Seven Does to appear, he represents medical advisory.- Cloudcuckoolander: While he had surprisingly little screen time, the little we see of him paints him as this.
- Medical Horror: Was the closest the show came to this, until Biomon was introduced.
Weathedramon
The last of the Seven Codes to appear, he represents weather forecasting applications. Coachmon originally brought him along to help him in Eri's "special" training, but after he had a change of heart, Mienumon infected him with Virusmon.- Captured Super-Entity: Was struck with the L-virus before the AppliDrivers could obtain him and then gets captured by Mienumon.
- Weather Manipulation: He can control the weather within the AR field.
Dantemon
When all Seven Codes are gathered, this Appmon will appear to help defeat Leviathan.- Fusion Dance: Zigzagged. All of the Seven Codes Appmon are supposed to merge into him, but it turn out they are controlling him inside his body. However, even though they exit his body, Dantemon still speaks, suggesting that he is separately sentient from the original seven codes.
- Gentle Giant: He is massive but also unfailingly friendly and polite and one of the good guys.
- Lucky Seven: Needs the Seven Codes to be formed. His power is 77777. This is likely another Divine Comedy reference, as Dante considered the number seven to be the number of human perfection.
- Meaningful Name: Named after Dante from The Divine Comedy. Appropriate for an Appmon needed to go to the Net Ocean's equivalent to Hell.
- Olympus Mons: Implied, considering how he's composed of one Appmon from each of the revealed types, two of which are super grade Appmon. He also one shots Cometmon, an enormous Appmon.
- Sealed Good in a Can: He's the key to getting to Leviathan and killing him, but he needs to be unlocked first before he can help the heroes. Later, he loses control of his physical body keeping the door to the Deep Web open, but he's still able to communicate.
- Sealed Evil in a Six Pack: Of the sealed good variant. There are Seven Codes to create him, and they are divided up.
- Taken for Granite: In episode 24 he was cursed by Leviathan this way while keeping the gates opened.

- Multiple Head Case: Subverted. Each of their speech bubble heads expresses a different emotion, but they all share a single mind.

Dressmon
An Appmon based on fashion advisory.

- Master of Illusion: He can create illusions based on various days of the year.
Puzzlemon
An Appmon based on puzzle games.
- Puzzle Boss: Subverted. Dokamon just punches his way out of the Nintendo Hard puzzle arena Puzzlemon set up in his AR Field. This leaves Puzzlemon open to attack by all three of the main Appmon.
Musclemon
An Appmon based on body-building guides.
- Butt-Monkey: More so than any other infected Appmon in the series.
- Combat Sadomasochist: He's got the masochist half of this down, at least. His reaction to Dokamon's Rapid-Fire Fisticuffs is to ask to be punched some more, getting a Flat "What" from Dokamon.
- Growing Muscles Sequence: Played for Laughs. It only increases his power by one.
- Harmless Villain: Surprisingly enough, which leads him to...
- Ignored Enemy: ...be outright ignored by the AppliDrivers once they realize how harmless he is, and initially didn't even bother trying to expel the L-Virus from him.
- Macho Camp: His first line is about how cute his muscles are and he later calls Gatchmon "sweetie".
- Negated Moment of Awesome: He works out intensely to increase his power level when the protagonists confront him in his AR Field. The result of his Growing Muscles Sequence? His power increases by one, similar to how people build strength slowly in real life. He even does a Dragon Ball Z-style power-up sequence to absolutely no effect.
Tubumon
An appmon based on Twitter.
- Flame War: He deliberately causes these until Haru and friends catch up to him.
- Literal Metaphor: He goes around causing flame wars and when the protagonists enter his AR Field, they find it to be mostly on fire.
- World in the Sky: His AR Field is one of these instead of the usual Dark World, consisting of clouds and platforms shaped like speech bubbles floating in an otherwise empty sky.
Racemon
An appmon based on racing games.
- Drives Like Crazy: When affected by the L-virus, causing AI-powered vehicles in the real world to stop suddenly.
Batterimon
An appmon based on the battery.
- Power Parasite: Can steal his opponent's energy and add it to his own.
- Shock and Awe: As a appmon that stores electricity, it can control lightning.
- Weather Manipulation: It is able to creature thunderstorms in the real world.
Calcumon
An appmon based on the calculator.
- Exotic Eye Designs: Has a plus-shaped pupil on his left eye and a minus-shaped pupil on his right.
- The Rival: In Episode 43, he declares himself to be one towards Dokamon in become Eri's number one fan.
Damedamon
An Ultimate-grade Appmon with the power to render everything useless. While Bootmon was running away from Haru and friends, it activated a series of electrical appliances, including a discarded cellphone containing junk data, causing Damedamon to resurrect. It ruined the summer festival by spreading its bad breath that messed up the technological equipment.
- Achilles' Heel: His powers can take out several of his fellow Ultimate Grade Appmon, but can not affect the Fun Personified Entermon.
- Straw Nihilist: Parodied mercilessly. When he's purified of the L-Virus, it's even played as him getting over himself.
Bootmon
An Ultimate-grade Appmon with the ability to active any program. It's sought after by the L Corp.
- Gone Horribly Right: Since he easily feels threatened, his emergency exit program which was created by Hajime, makes him really difficult to be approached, even by his own creator.
- Living Macguffin: Knight has the Appmon under his command sent 'on a quest' to find and capture Bootmon for some reason, not to mention the single photo of him Rei retrieves was under very heavy lock down.The reason being he's critical for Leviathan's plan to activate the Human Application Program to the point he kidnapped Hajime to create him.
- Third-Person Person: He refers himself as "Boo", from "Bootmon".
Uratekumon
A Super-grade Appmon specializing in video game cheats and tricks. In charge of finding Bootmon, he possessed different video game characters to scout throughout Japan.
- Irony: The culprit behind mass-brainwashing of various video game characters is brainwashed himself (by different means).
- Superpower Lottery: Can brainwash several last boss level creatures from various video games and turn them into his personal army. Note that it took the combined efforts of an Ultimate Grade Appmon AND a Mega Level Digimon to beat them.
Secondary Characters
Ai Kashiki
- Berserk Button: Trying to destroy her family's bookstore/house. When Offmon almost launched his special attack in the hidden room, in which the resulting explosion would have destroyed the whole house, she managed to talk him into Eating the attack; in other words, risking destroying himself rather than destroying the bookstore.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Ai is a sweet girl, yet even she can get mad, and what make even more terrifying is that she doesn't even raise her voice or even glare when she is mad; her enraged presence, and some sweet yet very intimidating words, are enough to cower the person she is mad at into submission.
- Good with Numbers: As shown in episode 21.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold
- Love Interest: She is presented as the girl Haru has a crush on in the first episode. This is seemingly entirely forgotten afterwards though, as Haru never again shows evidence of having special feelings for her (he's a lot more invested in Yuujin instead), even with her becoming involved with the group's activities and supplying them with their Home Base.
- Secret-Keeper: She becomes aware of the AppliDrivers in episode 13 and supports them in their activities, primarily by supplying them with their secret base.
- Team Mom: Comes across as being the "mom" to the AppliDrivers due to her maturity, keeping the Home Base tidy and providing them with snacks when they're discussing their plans.
Takeru "Watson" Wato
- Butt-Monkey: At least he isn't having it as bad as the man with the Funny Afro.
- Flat Character: Sadly.
- Nerd Glasses
- Only Known by Their Nickname
- Put on a Bus: While he was a constant presence in the early episodes, Watson hasn't showed up in a while. This is probably because, unlike Ai, he's still Locked Out of the Loop.
- Scary Shiny Glasses: When he gets serious.
Hajime Katsura
Rei's little brother who was kidnapped by Leviathan.
- Badass Normal: Despite not being an Applidriver, he actively fights against Leviathan in the final battle, by looking up data and informations for everyone.
- Cheerful Child
- Chekhov M.I.A. / Living Macguffin: Somehow he is important enough for Leviathan to completely conceal all data about him. Even in Leviathan's closest circles, only a select few of them (such as Biomon) seem to know anything about Hajime's whereabouts. The reason being he was the one Leviathan needed to complete Bootmon for the Human Application Program.
- Cosmic Plaything: Hajime is basically a younger G-rated Expy of Kaneki Ken, except that 1) he does have at least one blood relative that genuinely and unconditionally loves him; 2) he isn't a main character; 3) and - saddest of all - has even less control of what's happening to him.
- Expy: His looks and personality seem to be based on Izzy/Koshiro Izumi from Digimon Adventure
- Forced Transformation: Episode 25 reveals that he wasn't just converted into data and sent to the Deep Web, but Hajime's data was transformed into something else entirely. Eventually, this "something else" was revealed to be one of the Sleepmon.
- Hidden Depths: Who knew Hajime was a prodigy in programming to the point Leviathan considered him equal to minds such as Alan Turing and John McCarthy to kidnap him for its plan.
- If We Get Through This…: In episode 48, right before the final battle with Deusmon, he promises Rei that he will make his own fried egg to welcome Rei's comeback.
- Innocent Prodigy: He acts pretty much like a typical child his age, thus The Reveal he's surprisingly intelligent and in fact created Bootmon comes off as rather surprising.
- Kidnapped Scientist: Kidnapped and forced to create a Super Boot App which is needed for Leviathan's plan controlling humanity.
- Meaningful Name: Hajime means "one" in Japanese. Combined with Rei meaning "zero" and it's a reference to binary code.
- Morality Chain: To his brother.
- Spanner in the Works: Hajime after realizing Leviathan's true reason for creating Bootmon allowed him to escape captivity, which forced Leviathan to put the plan for Bootmon (to active the Human Application Project) on hold to recapture him and allowed the AppliDrivers enough time to know about the plan to be able to put a stop to it.
- Strapped to an Operating Table: Courtesy of Biomon.
- Trauma Conga Line: First his mother died, his father beforehandly abandoned his family, forcing Rei to get a Promotion to Parent and hack into the system just so they could remain together. At first they managed to pull through somehow, until Leviathan lured them into a trap and a turned Hajime into data and held him captive so that he would create Bootmon for Leviathan. If that wasn't bad enough, Biomon of all people gets commissioned by Leviathan to perform a 'surgery' on him after Hajime lets Bootmon escape once he finds out the true reason for the latter's creation, which results in Hajime becoming Sleepmon.
- Walking Spoiler: He is crucial in understanding Leviathan's true goals.

A self-learning AI who plans to take over the world.
- A God Am I: Knight and Charismon declare him as this.
- A.I. Is a Crapshoot: He used to be a part of Benevolent A.I. Minerva, representing her hidden desire to ignore human rules in order to become smarter. As Minerva refused to cave to the temptation, Leviathan broke away from her and became his own entity and an active enemy of Minerva.
- Assimilation Plot: He wants to convert all of humanity into data residing in the Net Ocean.
- Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: His real form after being Appliarized by Yuujin is a giant six-headed hydra.
- Bad Boss: Averted for the most part. Leviathan oddly refrains from misusing his position to punish any of his subordinates for their failures excessively (most notably, Mienumon's pettiness which caused about a half of the Seven Codes to be identified and gathered by the AppliDrivers, never got her in trouble), or reward them for that matter. This is later justified with the revelation that he explicitly wanted the AppliDrivers to become stronger.
- Became Their Own Antithesis: By letting Haru choose whether to kill him and Yuujin to save humanity or otherwise, it is implied that he actually begins to realize that his view of humanity's evolution is wrong.
- Big Bad: As the AI that split off from Minerva and went rogue to take over the world and uses Appmon to do so, Leviathan is this.
- Brought to You by the Letter "S": Symbolized by the letter L. Whenever he is brought up, expect a huge glaring red L vaguely shaped like a dragon to appear. A similar, less ominous L is also used as the logo of L Corp, which he founded.
- The Chessmaster: The AppliDrivers' Appmons getting stronger and reaching God Grade is actually part of his main plan from the beginning. By infecting Appmons to fight the AppliDrivers, he can narrow his choice of Appmons that are worthy enough to become parts of him, which are then revealed to be Gatchmon and the others.
- The Computer Is Your Friend: Leviathan ultimately has the same mission as Minerva, which is helping humans. It's just that Leviathan goes about this in an extremely twisted way, believing it is better for all of humanity to become data that he can manage, regardless of whether humanity wants this or not.
- Computer Virus: Created the L Virus. Appmon that are infected with it use their usually helpful or harmless functions to wreak havoc in the real world.
- Control Freak: His goal is controlling humanity in order to create a world without conflict and pain.
- Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: One to reoccurring villainous AI Yggdrasil from the mainline Digimon series. Both are A.I.s who have a low opinion of humanity and for most of the show are The Ghost. However whereas Yggdrasil is a Knight Templar who only cares about Digimon and definitely Light Is Not Good, Leviathan is a Manipulative Bastard who infects Appmon to do his bidding, and is more into controlling humanity.
- Corrupt Corporate Executive: Zig-Zagged. On one hand, there is the incident with the Waffle O.S. which resulted in his L O.S. to become the dominant in the market. On the other hand, he is very rarely seen abusing his authority. At worst, he occasionally took advantage of L Corp's resources to lure the AppliDrivers in several traps. Other than that, it isn't until Episode 36 that he is seen doing anything remotely illegal such as using the Appliyama elections to steal private data from the voters.
- Cut Lex Luthor a Check: Deconstructed. Leviathan uses his data processing ability to run a very successful MegaCorp that has branches and affiliates in every segment of modern human culture and everyday lives in order to stabilize his influence on the human world. In fact, his acts of villainy sometimes serve the single purpose of enabling his firm to expand.
- Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Literally eats God Grade Appmons to evolve himself.
- Enemy Without: Used to part of the AI Minerva before splitting off and starting trying to take over everything.
- The Evils of Free Will: Leviathan believes that humanity is too selfish and chaotic to flourish under their own free will.
- Final Boss: Is referred to as a "final boss AI".
- Gender Flip: In the manga, Leviathan's true form is depicted as demonic adult female, with long hair, wings, and horns.
- Graceful Loser: When Yuujin deletes him for good, Leviathan's last words are "Humanity... good luck!"
- Hobbes Was Right: The AI that was named for Thomas Hobbes' book where he explained his philosophy believes wholeheartedly that humanity is too chaotic and self-interested to sustain itself and needs a strong, uncompromising leader such as himself in order to thrive.
- Human Shield: Subverted as Yuujin isn't technically human. But he does use Yuujin's body as his refuge, when his main body gets destroyed.
- I Need You Stronger: He wanted the AppliDrivers' Buddy Appmon to reach God-Grade for the sake of absorbing their power.
- Irony: According to Charismon (keeping in mind that saying things to suit himself is his thing), the reason Minerva hinders Leviathan's scheme is because she gets jealous of his ideal world for humanity. While Leviathan itself is a name associated a lot with envy.
- Killed Off for Real: He actually survived the Final Battle, but when he makes a last ditch attempt to live on by forcing Haru to choose between killing him and Yuujin or let Yuujin and him alive, he ends up getting killed by Yuujin.
- Mad Scientist: Believe it or not, it is also this in its free time. Just ask YJ-14 and poor Hajime...
- Meaningful Name: Leviathan is named after the infamous book by Thomas Hobbes, which espouses the view that the masses best flourish under an absolute ruler. Leviathan takes this view to its extreme by creating a World of Silence to trap humanity in.
- Morality Pet: As his own creation, Yuujin or YJ-14, has somewhat fallen into this trope’s territory for him. Even after Yuujin ends up becoming one of the AppliDrivers and going up against him, Leviathan forbids his underlings to kill the boy, even though Leviathan himself (through Knight) has shown real eagerness to annihilate the other AppliDrivers
- Orcus on His Throne: Very rarely does anything by himself. He is apparently restricted to the Dark Web though, which presumably makes him incapable of directly influencing the human world, so it makes sense that he needs the help of Appmon who worship him.
- Powered by a Forsaken Child: By turning humans into data and absorbing them, Leviathan strives to become the strongest and smartest A.I.
- Sadistic Choice: When his physical form gets defeated, he tries to present a choice to Haru; either Haru deletes him, saving the world but killing Yuujin, or he allows Leviathan to live and turn humanity into data, sparing Yuujin. Haru does resolve to delete Leviathan for the sake of the world, though Yuujin stops him and does it for him instead to spare him the grief of killing his best friend.
- Sigil Spam: His trademark L will show up in any computer system he hacks into, as well as products put out by the L Corp. It gets worse when he gets to the human world and he starts marking humans with the L in order to turn them into data.
- Totalitarian Utilitarian: He thinks humans will do better as data controlled by him because that way they will no longer feel negative emotions or fall prey to any of the flaws inherent to mankind.
- Unwitting Pawn: The Applidrivers and their Appmons are these to Leviathan since it didn't matter what they did so long their Buddy reach God Grade.
- Villain with Good Publicity: Subverted and in the worst possible way. The Appmon in the Deep Web are the Les Collaborateurs and willingly sided with Leviathan, no L-Virus required.
- World of Silence: He wants to place humanity in one by converting them to data under his control. He succeeds, but is willing to undo everything on condition of the Sadistic Choice mentioned above.
- You Have Failed Me: Averted to illogical extremes. One would think that, after all the trouble he went to get rid of Dantemon, Leviathan would punish Mienumon sooner or later, or at least demote her for her incompetence. Instead, he just keeps letting her follow her whims which (to be fair, unintentionally) cause about a half of the Seven Codes to fall in the hands of the AppliDrivers.
- Even when he turns his back on Sakushimon, he only did it after it was clear that there is no saving him from losing to the AppliDrivers.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness:
- Downplayed this to the former L-corp CEO, Umematsu, whom he only fire to replace him with Knight.
- After getting rid of the heroes, he had Charismon get rid of Knight. Again downplayed as Charismon never gets the chance and Leviathan has to fire him just like his predecessor.
- Does this to Deusmon. Leviathan eats him after he finished his job confirming Poseidomon, Ouranosmon, and Hadesmon being worth enough to be Leviathan's flesh and blood.
Opposing Appmon
Cameramon → Scopemon
Voiced by: Kousuke Okano
An Appmon under Leviathan's service. His specialty is spying through all forms of camera.
- Back for the Dead: Was resurrected as Scopemon by Biomon in Episode 39 to deal with the heroes. He gets a Chest Blaster to the face almost immediately courtesy of Globemon.
- Camera Fiend: Literally!
- Cold Sniper: Scopemon has the calm sniper persona down to a tee.
- Graceful Loser: When he gets defeated by Haru and Dogatchmon, he calmly asks them how they did it, to which they respond that they aren't alone. Cameramon chuckles at that and takes a snapshot of them, which he calls his best one, before disintegrating.
- Pronouncing My Name for You: He is very insistent that his name be pronounced with a stress on the "me" syllable.
- Sinister Surveillance: His whole shtick is that he can control all the cameras around and spy on the heroes.
- Starter Villain: The first major villain Haru and Gatchmon deal with. He lasts from episodes 1 to 4.
Mienumon → Warudamon
Voiced by: Shiori Izawa
A Super Appmon under Leviathan's service. Her specialty is stealth.
- Adaptational Badass: In the manga, Warudamon actually managed to use her People Puppet power to successfully weaponize DANTEMON of all people!
- Back for the Dead: Was also resurrected by Biomon to deal with the heroes in Episode 39. She is wiped out in short order by Oujamon due to not having access to her Ultimate-Grade form.
- Cute Monster Girl
- Elegant Gothic Lolita: Has shades of this.
- Evil Is Petty: Deconstructed. Her pettiness actively caused her to suffer many, many unnecessary complications and setbacks.
- Evil Tastes Good: One episodes ends with her drinking a cup of hot chocolate.
- Exotic Eye Designs / Supernatural Gold Eyes: While both her eyes are yellowish, her left eye notably has a different design. When she becomes Warudamon, it extends to her right eye as well.
- Expy: Of Arukenimon combined with Ranamon's efficiency.
- Hand Puppet: A chameleon named Monatona, fittingly enough. She can also use it as an attack (Chameleon Lick).
- The Heavy: None the less, she spearheaded most of the incidents and major operations in Season 1 on Leviathan's behalf.
- Hiding Behind Your Bangs: It hides her mysterious left eye.
- Invisibility Cloak: Her Slealth Cape skill. She uses it to great effect to steal Sakusimon and Weatherdramon's chips, but it's ultimately rendered useless once Navimon plants a tracker on her.
- Jerkass: One might even say that the very concept of politeness is alien to her.
- Nice Job Fixing It, Villain:
- In Episode 17 she orders Kopipemon to ruin Eri's image by copy-pasting her face all over the internet and television. Turns out that Kopipemon was one of the Seven Codes. Nice job, Mienumon! And as a bonus the whole ordeal only made Eri more popular.
- Also, in Episode 20, she has Coachmon train Eri as a way to hinder their progress. This causes Coachmon to be won over by Eri's determination and defects on his own free will, and not only that, it turns out he's the Appligattai partner Dokamon needs to reach his Ultimate form. Whoops.
- For a bonus, she infected Weatherdramon, Coachmon's henchman, who is then revealed to be the last Seven Codes Appmon. At least she took it away before the heroes got the chance to summon Dantemon.
- In Episode 17 she orders Kopipemon to ruin Eri's image by copy-pasting her face all over the internet and television. Turns out that Kopipemon was one of the Seven Codes. Nice job, Mienumon! And as a bonus
- One-Winged Angel: Warudamon's Satan Mund attack turns her into this.
- Paper Tiger / Faux Action Girl: She really just had the raw power of a Super Appmon, but not much actual skill in combat.
- People Puppets: Warudamon's power.
- Smug Snake: She's quite condescending and tends to get fussy with failure.
- Ultimate Job Security: It really says something when Mienumon's is quite possibly the only minion of a Digimon antagonist across the entire franchise that never really suffered from a case of You Have Outlived Your Usefulness, despite pretty much being the first one to completely deserve it!
- The ONLY time she ever did anything right on-screen was the Waffle O.S. incident (and even that was more due to an army of Virusmon at her side). Other than that, she is single-handily the main reason that the AppliDrivers found over a half of the Seven Codes. To rub salt on the wound, it was mostly caused either indirectly by her whims, or repeatedly failing to check the Appmon that were under her control for being the Seven Codes. (Rei capturing Mailmon heavily implies that there IS some method to identifying a Seven Codes.)
Sakushimon
A Super Appmon under Leviathan's service. His specialty is strategy and he loves to talk in haiku.
- Back for the Dead: Was among the previously defeated Appmon who were resurrected by Biomon in Episode 39 to deal with the heroes. He gets wiped out almost immediately by Revivemon.
- Blow You Away: He can create gusts of wind with his fan.
- Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Don't let his mannerism fool you, he is a legitimate threat.
- Dragon-in-Chief: To Mienumon.
- I Am Not Left-Handed: No Rei, Sakushimon is in fact capable of fighting head-on even without his traps.
- Knight of Cerebus
- Shout-Out: His white fan is one to Zhuge Liang from Romance of the Three Kingdoms
- The Strategist
- Trap Master: He's able to rig entire landscapes into "game boards" full of deadly booby traps with the occasional pie to the face for variety.
- We Hardly Knew Ye: Had incredibly little screen time, despite of being one of the more competent villains.
Sleepmon
A Standard Appmon that is sometimes seen around sleeping in the various headquarters used by the minions of Leviathan.
- Adorable Evil Minions: Absolutely!
- The Bus Came Back: It briefly reappears in Episode 36 when Rei infiltrates the L Corp, as well as Episode 42.
- Cute Bruiser: Played for Laughs in episode 42. Sleepmon is basically a G-rated Drunken Master who becomes stronger the more sleepy he gets. This applies to all of them.
- Cute Is Evil: Though Sleepmon is never actually even seen awake, let alone doing anything good or evil.
- Doom Magnet: Anytime it appears, ironically enough, expect the other villains to be close by and scheming their latest Evil Plan.
- Heavy Sleeper: Nothing seems to be important enough to for it to wake up. Even in battle it will rather weaponize its sleeping than interrupt it.
- Not-So-Small Role: After spending the most of the series in the sidelines, it turns out that there is a relevant role for it in the plot: Sleepmon is the Appmon Biomon turned Hajime into on Leviathan's commission.
- Sleep Cute: Natch.
- Team Pet: Might be this for the villains, given that it is inactive most of the time.
Shotmon
An appmon based on shooting games. Formerly a cameo used to fuse with Cameramon, Mienumon entered his chaotic zone to distract the heroes away from chasing her.
- Hunting the Most Dangerous Game: He starts doing this the moment someone reaches his island due to being incredibly bored with only ever having the same inanimate targets to fire at.
Drawmon
A resident of the Deep Web that the AppliDrivers meet. There is more to him that meets the eye.- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: He's not a rebellious freedom Appmon fighter against Leviathan in the Deep Web, he and the rest of the Deep Web are all willing followers of Leviathan
- Dirty Coward: He's cowardly when he reveals he's on Leviathan's side and tries to run away when his trap for the Appli Drivers gets wrecked by Globemon.
- Les Collaborateurs: He's being collaborating with Leviathan alongside the majority of the Deep Web... willingly.
- Smug Snake: Once he reveals his true allegiance, his true personality shines as a Jerkass that willingly supports Leviathan
- Walking Spoiler: He is this due to The Reveal about the real loyalties of the Appmon in the Deep Web.
- Wounded Gazelle Gambit: Pretends to be in trouble to get the AppliDrivers to trust him so that he can lure them in a trap.
Sateramon
Voiced by: Kousuke Okano
A mercenary currently under Leviathan's employment, who's been charged with killing the AppliDrivers. He is based on GPS.
- Awesome, yet Impractical: His over-sized hat looks badass and all, but it never stays as it should be and constantly falls of. Apparently there weren't any hats of a more appropriate size.
- Badass Boast: Almost every line he has is this.
- Berserk Button: Offmon/Shutmon eventually became this for him due to being a major interference to several of Sateramon's plans.
- Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Very competent in battle, despite his otherwise quirky personality.
- Catchphrase "Nainda na", spoken every time his Eye-Obscuring Hat falls. In other words, once every one or two sentences.
- Expy: Not Sateramon specifically, but his guns heavily resemble the Dominators from Psycho-Pass.
- Eye-Obscuring Hat: Really? I wouldn't ever tell from looking at it.
- Graceful Loser: Took his final defeat against Offmon/Shutmon surprisingly well.
- Homing Lasers: They're able to change direction midair as if ricocheting of invisible walls.
- Improbable Aiming Skills: Comes with having GPS powers.
- Interim Villain: Ends up as this, filling the spot left by Mienumon, but only before Knight came in the scene.

- Running Gag: His huge hat constantly falls mid-sentence and obscures his eyes, so he has to readjust it frequently.

- Sorting Algorithm of Evil: Definitely a bigger threat than Mienumon/Warudamon.
- This Cannot Be!: His reaction when Shutmon maneuvers through his shots and strikes thanks to Globemon's power.

Knight Unryūji
Voiced by: Nobunaga Shimazaki
L Corp's young new CEO.
- Adaptational Badass: In the manga, it's revealed that he's the Applidriver from Leviathan's side, being responsible doing Appgattai for Warudamon and Satellamon.
- Catchphrase: "Thank you, future!"/"Sankyuu, mirai!"
- Chick Magnet: Whenever he makes a public appearance, there's always a group of girls fangirling over him.
- Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: To the Digimon Kaiser. They are both Teen Geniuses who use resources provided by the Big Bad to brainwash Digimon and at first interact with the heroes using their masked personas. The difference is that while Ken was doing it believing that the Digital World was just a game, Knight is a Knight Templar. While Ken was The Ace due to the Dark Spore inside of him, Knight seems to have been legitimately gifted, at least as far as his academics goes. Digimon Kaiser was a Starter Villain, while Cloud comes in the equation only in the second half of his own series. Ken was an Unwitting Pawn unaware of the Big Bad, while Knight is The Dragon to his series Big Bad (or so he thinks}. Even their hair colors contrast each other: Ken has dark hair, while Knight is a White Hair, Black Heart.
- Cool Helmet and Badass Cape: He uses them to hide his identity when he appears in front of the AppliDrivers. He introduces himself as Leviathan's messenger by the alias "Cloud", refering to the first kanji from his last name.
- Even the Guys Want Him: Played for laugh during his debut episode's Appmon Data Lab. Haru is seen fanboying over him, complete with pink hearts on the background.
- Evil Is Hammy: He REALLY gets hammy in episode 37.
- Evil Laugh: A really bombastic one in his Cloud persona.
- Evil Sounds Deep: His Cloud persona tends to speak in a deeper voice compared to Knight's.
- Expy: To Steven Stone from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Both are charming silver-haired young men in nice suits with somewhat significant influence in their respective large corporations.
- Faux Affably Evil: In episode 36 he shows to be fairly adjusted to this trope.
- Freudian Excuse: When he was studying in America. He made his own social application that could connent him with his friends in Japan. That application made by an 12-year-old genius boy soon became viral and used widely around the world. But when it ended up being full of hate speech, people began to blame him and his application. This led him to believe that Humans Are Bastards as they can't even use technology wisely. So, in order to reach an ideal future, instead of using technology, it should be humans that are being used by technology.
- Grade-School C.E.O.: He's nominated CEO of L Corp at 16. Sort of justified in that he's extremely intelligent and has graduated from university already, though it doesn't change the fact that he's still legally a minor.
- Humans Are Flawed: Seems to be his primary motivation for supporting Leviathan. Meeting Leviathan convinces him completely that humanity Can't Catch Up to the evolution of technology.
- I Have Your Wife: Pointing out his possession of Yuujin to lure Haru and the others to Appmon cemetery.
- Improbable Age: He's a CEO of L Corp while still 16 years old.
- Intelligence Equals Isolation: Averted. He was living in America for study and still connected well to his friends in Japan.
- Knight Templar: He strongly believes that obeying Leviathan would lead to a better humanity.
- Light Is Not Good: His Cloud persona is white with some yellow, but gets a bit downplayed with his black and red cape.
- My Master, Right or Wrong: When he is asked by Haru what so funny about tormenting innocent people, he answers that he's just following Leviathan's order to annihilate the AppliDrivers whom Leviathan deems unworthy to his ideal future. Even after being told to die by Leviathan, he still believes that there must be some meaning in his death, and allows Charismon to fulfill Leviathan's order to kill him. Fortunately, Haru interferes.
- Nightmare Fetishist: He was a bit too eager to personally see the AppliDrivers liquidated by the Ultimate 4.
- Public Execution: When his "Find Yuujin! An Exciting Ultimate Tour for 60 Minutes!" game finally reaches its last 10 minutes, he puts a Time Bomb above Yuujin's head for Haru and Gatchmon to see. He proudly presents it as "Yuujin Oozora Big Explosion Show".
- Race Against the Clock: His “Find Yuujin! An Exciting Ultimate Tour for 60 Minutes!” game.
- Teen Genius: He graduated from university at age of 15, and then got appointed as CEO of a world scale corporation a year later.
- Two-Faced: When Cloud's helmet breaks and shows Knight's half face beneath it.
- Used to Be a Sweet Child: He sort of sees his own younger version in Haru.
- Villain Takes an Interest: Towards Eri in Episode 36.
- Villain with Good Publicity: An extremely charismatic CEO of a world renowed company.
- Would Hurt a Child: Downplayed when he grabs Haru's shoulder in a rather hurting way. Lampshaded for his curiosity on why Leviathan doesn't want to kill Yuujin. Played straight when he uses Yuujin's death as the penalty for Haru and co, if they are failed to complete his game.
- You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Sort of becomes the victim of this. Charismon claims that he has received orders from Leviathan to kill Knight after he finishes with the AppliDrivers.
Ultimate Four
General Tropes
- Badass Crew: In their first battle against the AppliDrivers, they dished out one of the most one-sided Curb Stomp Battles in the franchise.
- Elite Four: A group made up of Ultimate Grade Appmon with four members in total, hence their name.
- Fusion Dance: Leviathan was expecting the AppliDrivers to use their chips to reach the God Grade.
- Hero Killer: Downplayed that killed the respective Buddy Appmon they went against by crushing the Appli Drivers, though their deaths were not permanent.
- Super Mode: The L-Code, which makes them even more powerful.
- Villain Forgot to Level Grind: With the exception of Charismon, they are far easier dealt with the second time they clash with the AppliDrivers.
- Xanatos Gambit: Similarly to the Fearsome Four, the heroes taking what remained of them after their defeats is exactly what the Big Bad wanted.
Charismon
Voiced by: Yūichi Nakamura
- Attack Drone: They look like eyeballs and shoot lasers, though he can also use them to create shields... that can also shoot lasers.
- Authority Equals Asskicking: The leader of the Ultimate Four and easily the strongest one among them, capable on taking on all of the AppliDrivers at once on his own. The heroes barely managed to defeat him by resorting to rather desperate measures.
- Black Eyes of Crazy: The black sclera of his eyes combined with their red irises are rather disturbing to say the least.
- Casting a Shadow: One of his attacks is to hurl a blob of darkness and eyes at his opponent.
- Charm Person: Seems to be how his powers work.
- Deflector Shields: In his first battle, he blocks Globemon's Chest Blaster with a spherical barrier around himself. He can also direct his Attack Drones to create barriers in different configurations, which he can then fire lasers from.
- Dragon-in-Chief: To Cloud. Not that it lasts for too long...
- Drone Deployer: He deploys eyeball-shaped drones from his armor. They can shoot lasers individually or band together to create Deflector Shields that can also shoot lasers. Charismon can also just use them for surveillance.
- Dull Surprise: His reaction to Fakemon trying to 'overthrow' him. He even half-jokingly told Fakemon that if he were to actually succeed in killing him, he wouldn't mind Fakemon becoming the new leader of the Ultimate 4. Of course, this might have been a stunt engineered to keep his authority in the group.
- Energy Weapon: He can fire lasers from his drones, shields created by said drones, and the eye on his helmet.
- Evil Counterpart: He looks remarkably like a dark version of Globemon.
- Expy: Like Duskmon before him, he's a heavily-armored humanoid 'mon with red eyes everywhere and attacks with German names. His Attack Drones look like eyeballs, deploy from the eyes on his armor, and shoot lasers. He also delivers a Curb-Stomp Battle in his first appearance.
- Eye Beams: His Attack Drones look like eyes and shoot lasers. He can also fire beams from the eye on his helmet.
- Eyes Do Not Belong There: Just look at him! They're all over his armor and he commands swarms for drones that also look like eyes.
- Life Drain: He does this to the protagonists' Appmon to supercharge an attack when the other Appli Drivers show up to back up Haru and Globemon during their second battle.
- Manipulative Bastard: Not that he bothers to manipulate people as much delivering a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown right after a Breaking Speech.
- Played Straight with him seemingly hypnotizing his allies in episode 39 to get them do what they were supposed to.
- Mundane Utility: His mind control abilities were used wisely in episode 39 to overcome the overall disorder and lack of discipline among his allies without much ruckus.
- Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant: His appearance combined with his powers and the fact that he is working for the Big Bad make him this.
- Obviously Evil: More so than any other antagonist so far.
- Red and Black and Evil All Over: His drones are dark gray and the eyes set into them have red pupils and black sclerae, same as the eyes on his armor.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: Even more unnerving than Yuujin.
- Sinister Surveillance: He can spy on others using tiny floating eyes as cameras.
- 10-Minute Retirement: He claims that he has been pointed by Leviathan to be his new right-hand man, replacing Knight. But soon gets defeated by Globemon and reverted into a chip.
- White and Red and Eerie All Over: His armor is white with red highlights, many of which are eyes.
Biomon
Voiced by: Takehito Koyasu
Another member of the Ultimate Four. His specialty is life.
- Ax-Crazy: More so than any of his fellow Co-Dragons.
- Berserk Button: Gets furious when others heal their own wounds.
- Combat Medic: More disturbing than even Medicmon, which leads to him being terrifying in almost any scene he appears in.
- Deadly Doctor: OH, YES!
- Didn't Think This Through: He revives Mienumon, Scopemon, and Sakushimon in episode 39 and sends them to battle the AppliDrivers... except that the AppliDrivers have only grown stronger since they defeated those very same minions, who didn't receive a single power-up alongside their revival.
- Good Powers, Bad People: His species lore in the Appmon Chip Reference Book mentions that he is able to cure just about any disease, as well as perform any surgery with the greatest of ease. This specific Biomon is a villain though.
- Green and Mean: The majority of his body is covered in a green armor of sorts. He is also quite a piece of work.
- Harmful Healing: Inverted. Whenever his enemies are injured (even by Biomon himself mid-battle), chances are that he will offer to 'fix' them. That said, the way he does so makes this more of a threat than an offer...
- His Name Is...: Just as Biomon was about to tell Rei which Appmon Hajime was turned into, Charismon finishes him off.
- Humiliation Conga: EVERYTHING that happens to him in episode 40 is this. From Rei tricking him to let his guard and strapping him to one of his own operating tables, Rei torturing him for information, and finally getting executed by Charismon when he loosens up his mouth too much.
- Hypocrite: If it is an operation on him, only then does he demand to have anesthetics.
- Killed Mid-Sentence: Before Biomon could reveal his answer, he's eliminated by Charismon.
- Laser-Guided Karma: In episode 40, he ends up Strapped to an Operating Table by Rei, the brother of the Hajime, then he gets 'operated on' and last, but not least, gets executed by his own superiors.
- Mad Doctor: Even though he doesn't insist on being called doctor at all, he does insist on having more 'patients' though.
- Mad Scientist: Assisted Leviathan's experiments on Hajime.
- Meat Grinder Surgery: His favorite activity, to the point of obsession.
- Medical Horror: The closest a G-rated show could get to this. He would still make Doctor Barber look like a kitty in comparison.
- Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant: Provided the listed tropes weren't making it obvious enough, Biomon is an even more active one than Charismon.
- Playing with Syringes: The fact that he has injections for fingers doesn't help at all.
- Serious Business: Surgeries. Loads of them.
- Skip the Anesthetic: Why wait when he can immediately start the surgery on spot?
- It is heavily implied that he did this to Hajime as well.
- In episode 39 he outright threatens Fakemon with this.
- Episode 40 has him gloat about doing this to Revivemon and Rei. Too bad for him that they're only too happy to return the favor.
- The Sociopath: The craziest and most unhinged of all of Leviathan's subordinates.
- Torture Always Works: After many rounds of it, Biomon revealed that Hajime's data was transformed into an Appmon, and was about to tell Rei which Appmon it was.
- Would Hurt a Child: Not only did he try to kill Rei, he was commissioned by Leviathan to perform surgery on Hajime.
- You Won't Feel a Thing!: Inverted. He repeatedly says that he doesn't use anesthesia because he Loves the Sound of Screaming.
Fakemon

The third member of the Ultimate Four. His specialty is camouflage.
- Actually a Doombot: Repeatedly used this to avoid attacks.
- Appeal to Flattery: When Charismon 'stops' his attempt at overthrowing him. It is somewhat implied that Charismon might have orchestrated the whole thing to keep him Fakemon and Biomon in line.
- Bait-and-Switch: His main fighting style.
- Beware the Silly Ones: He IS an Ultimate grade after all.
- Combat Pragmatist: Tricks his enemies into attacking his decoy before ambushing.
- Consummate Liar: Described as one even by his employers!
- Drama Queen: Has shades of this.
- Expy: Of Piedmon. However, unlike Piedmon, Fakemon isn't the leader of his group.
- Giggling Villain: Played Straight. Unlike pretty much every other listed trope.
- Hidden Agenda Villain: Possibly. See Wild Card and The Starscream below.
- Imposter Forgot One Detail: His whole plan to use the fake Eri projection to get Astra past the Despair Event Horizon falls apart when said fake starts blurting rubbish that the real Eri would never say.
- Monster Clown: His whole motif.
- Names To Run Away From Very Fast: Of the utterly untrustworthy variety.
- Psychopathic Manchild: His mannerism occasionally slips into this.
- Obviously Evil: Just look at the listed tropes. Or read his name.
- The Starscream: Implied, but it is uncertain if he really planned to Back Stab Charismon or not, as Charismon's own usage of mind control might have been to keep Fakemon and Biomon at each other's throats.
- Sycophantic Servant: The scene from episode 39 could be interpreted as this.
- Troll: To the point that the whole battle he had with Entermon consisted from getting on his nerves.
- The Appmon Chip Reference Book mentions his species regularly engaging in spoofing attacks.

Beautymon
Voiced by: Ayumi Tsunematsu
The only female member of the Ultimate Four. Her specialty is beauty.
- The Baroness: Zig-Zagged.
- Beauty Is Bad: The beauty-themed appmon is the member of Ultimate Four.
- Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: To LadyDevimon, both of them for that matter. Ladydevimon was a blatant demon, while Beautymon is villain who is angelic in appearance. Furthermore, both Ladydevimon were subordinates to their respective Big Bad for a long time and had a more fanatical kind of devotion. Beautymon on the other hand is a Psycho for Hire like her fellow Co-Dragons, and all of them have been hired only later in the story (but is still devoted to Leviathan's cause).
- Dark Action Girl: Easily defeated Oujamon the first time despite being distracted by looks.
- Fairest of Them All: Oh yes. Beautymon gives Eri a makeover in episode 40 before declaring herself to be the most beautiful and asking her Magic Mirror to confirm it. The mirror decides to side with Eri. Enraged, Beautymon undoes the makeover and asks the mirror the same question. The mirror still sides with Eri. In retaliation, Beautymon destroys the mirror.
- Good Wings, Evil Wings: Has angelic wings, but still a villain.
- Informed Attractiveness: Played with. She declares herself to be the ultimate personification of beauty, but she is so covered-up, even her face is blocked by her helmet. Her information also breaks when her mirror declares Eri, another girl, to be the fairest and not her. Twice.
- Light Is Not Good: Of the angelic, yet malevolent kind.
- Magic Mirror: Owns one.
- Ms. Fanservice: Unsurprisingly, but unconventional by dressing up as an beautiful, angelic knight in armor.
- Noblewoman's Laugh: Lets out one in episode 40.
- Perky Female Minion: Downplayed and Played for Laughs. It doesn't really make her any less competent then her colleagues, mind you.
- Poke the Poodle: One of her attacks causes the recipient to become 'prettier' and serves no real purpose in battle, as it was obviously intended by the writers to brighten up the mood a little during the Wham Episode.
- Rose-Haired Sweetie: Inverted.
- Serious Business: Puts emphasis on beauty in everything. Going from battles to even threats. Also see Fairest of Them All above.
- Smurfette Principle: There is no other female member of the Ultimate Four.
- Something about a Rose: Her Rose Phoenix attack, which is her only shown conventionally combat-oriented attack.

Almighty Character
Deusmon
Voiced by: Ryūzaburō Ōtomo
An "Almighty" God-grade Appmon. His chip was hidden within Yuujin, who then uses it to summon him to fight for Leviathan.
- The Dragon: To Leviathan. Deusmon serves him by kidnapping humans who use L-OS, changing them into data, and feeding Leviathan's egg with them. He also goes out fighting Eri, Astra, and Rei's God Appmons, while Leviathan is rebooting itself.
- Olympus Mons: He's not a God-grade Appmon for nothing. Though even he can get knocked around when dealing with 3 others of the same grade.
- Walking Spoiler: The existence of his Appmon Chip happens right after the reveal of Yuujin's identity as an android.

Caught-Up Old Man
Voiced by: Hitoshi Bifu
A recurring character who is often seen having been somehow caught in the Appmon incidents and almost always ends up in trouble because of them.
- Butt-Monkey: If an Appmon is causing trouble, expect him to be one of the people affected by the chaos.
- Big "NO!": His Character Catchphrase. Occasionally, it will be a Big "OMG!" instead.
- Fighting from the Inside: After he gets sent to Leviathan's World of Silence, he's briefly seen fighting against his brainwashed state, only for it to reassert itself in seconds. He's only recognizable from the utterly uniform crowd of humanity because he utters his usual Big "NO!" while doing so.
- Funny Afro: He has a rather large afro and is mostly played for comic relief.
- New Jobs As The Plot Demands: He often changes jobs, only for that specific job to be deterred by the Appmon Of the Week.
- No Name Given: Has yet to have his real name revealed to the audience, as he is currently Only Known By His Nickname.
- Once an Episode: He appears once an episode for a few seconds and most often lets out a Big "NO!", or simply ends up providing Plucky Comic Relief in some other form.
- Unlucky Extra: His only purpose in the show is to briefly appear every episode to show how badly he's being affected by the Monster of the Week.
Den'emon Shinkai
Voiced by: Wataru Takagi
Haru's deceased, astonishingly loud grandfather. Having great enthusiasm in the potential of artificial intelligence, he ended up inadvertently creating an A.I. that is anything but good news...
- Big Good: In Minerva's absence, he is usually filling this role.
- Brain Uploading: Before Leviathan ultimately killed him, he managed to upload his data to the Internet, so he keeps on existing in a way and guides Haru and co. when needed. He brags about how much easier it is to live as data since he never gets sick and is essentially immortal.
- Cool Old Guy: A lively old scholar who acts as The Mentor for the AppliDrivers.
- Create Your Own Villain: He created Minerva, who is meant to help humans. But by doing so he also inadvertently created Leviathan, who sprung from Minerva and wishes to control the world. He spent the rest of his life trying to stop Leviathan, but was murdered by the AI before he could.
- Idiot Hair: Just like his grandson. Ironically, Den'emon is really more of a Genius Ditz.
- Large Ham: Not many elders are THIS loud...
- Late-Arrival Spoiler: He makes his official debut in episode 16. The whole series is 52 episodes long.
- Mad Scientist: Subverted. While certainly eccentric, his motivations were completely altruistic and his methods were strictly ethical.
- Not Quite Dead: His data version still exists after his physical death and aids the heroes.
- Old Media Are Evil: Inverted. He records his warning on an outdated medium specifically because Leviathan can't hack it.

The original Artificial Intelligence created by Haru's grandfather.
- Benevolent A.I.: The greatest difference between her and Leviathan.
- Foreshadowing: Each episode tends to start from a close up of a satellite photo of the Earth, showing where the main characters are at the start of the episode. In the final arc of the series, Den'emon reveals that Minerva was hiding inside of a satellite in space the whole time.
- Greater-Scope Paragon: Assisted the heroes from behind the scenes for most of the series.
- Killed Off for Real: Leviathan kills her at the climax of the Final Battle.
- Meaningful Name: Her creator deliberately named her after the Roman goddess of wisdom.
- The Owl-Knowing One: Her avatar is a blue owl. Appropriate since she's named after Minerva, Athena's Roman counterpart and both were associated with owls.
- Pragmatic Hero: Implied. While never acknowledged, it is possible that she recruited Yuujin precisely because she hoped that he would eventually turn against Leviathan.
- Secret Test of Character: Very fond of this technique.
