Namakemon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/namakemon.jpg
Debut: Vital Bracelet Digital Monster
Attacks: Unchi Nage, Paralyze Lick

A Puppet Digimon that has ended up only finding joy in life from eating and sleeping. Its dislike of strenuous exercise has even erased its combat instincts as a Digimon, and it has come to live in elevated areas such as on treetops so that no one can approach it. Because both of its arms are often being used to grasp onto tree branches, it is also able to use its long, well-developed tongue skilfully as a third arm.

  • Animal Motifs: It's themed after the three-toed sloth.
  • Dung Fu: The first of its attacks has it throw its dung.
  • Expy: Of previous Digimon that didn't meet any evolution requirements, like Numemon or Sukamon, and even has a poop-throwing attack much like them. Justified in that the Vital Bracelet is also a pedometer, and the entire Impulse City line is themed around energy and exercise, so a Pulsemon that turns out lazy naturally evolves into a slacker.
  • Joke Character: Namakemon is obtained through improperly raising a Pulsemon, similar to how Numemon and its ilk are obtained.
  • Lazy Bum: To the point that it has no combat instincts. It only enjoys eating and sleeping.
  • Meaningful Name: Its name is derived from "Namakemono", which translates to "slacker".
  • Morphic Resonance: It has Pulsemon's green crest in the same place on its chest.
  • Multipurpose Tongue: It can use its tongue as a third arm. It also secretes a paralyzing venom that it uses for its Paralyze Lick attack in the event that someone gets close enough.
  • Overly-Long Tongue: Its tongue is as long as its body and it can use said tongue as a third arm.
  • The Paralyzer: Its tongue secretes a paralyzing venom that it uses for its Paralyze Lick attack.
  • Sluggish Sloths: A lazy sloth that no longer has any fighting instinct.
  • Wolverine Claws: It has three long claws at the end of each arm like sloths do.

Nanimon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nanimon_b_3.jpg

A Digimon whose true identity is unknown, it arrived in the Digital World from another dimension in order to invade it. It was known by the title "OYAJI" in the other dimension, where it was raised as a digital pet. While it loves alcohol and has an oppressive personality, ever since it invaded this Digital World (though the exact details regarding its invasion are unknown), it evolved to become more active and turned into Nanimon. It trained and strengthened its body through battle, influenced by the Digital World's survival-of-the-fittest environment; however, no one knows the true extent of its abilities. Even so, it is said that a Nanimon that has fought and won countless battles will evolve into its ultimate form.

Ren Tobari has a Nanimon in his possession.

  • Big Bad Wannabe: It wants to invade and conquer the Digital World, but even if it wasn't a Champion alone, there are numerous Digimon who would easily walk past Nanimon without breaking stride.
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: Has these due to being based on Oyajitchi from Tamagotchi.
  • Cephalothorax: It's a human head with arms and legs.
  • Cool Shades: It has a pair of these.
  • Elemental Punch: Its "Oyaji Punch" where it punches the foe with a glowing fist.
  • Expy: Of the Tamagotchi species Oyajitchi. Many of Nanimon's sprites in the virtual pet it debuted in are edits of that of Oyajitchi's, and its description suggests that it might even be related.
  • Joke Character: Similarly to Numemon and Sukamon, it's the improperly raised Champion level of its debut v-pet. It has a strange design based on a Tamagotchi that's similar in nature to it, and uses poop-based attacks similarly to Numemon.
  • Meaningful Name: Nani 「何(ナニ)」 means "what?".
  • Toilet Humor: Its "Unchi Dunk" note  where it creates a giant poop, flies into the air, and tosses it down onto the enemy like a basketball.

Ninjamon (Igamon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/igamon.jpg
Attacks: Iga-Style Shuriken Throw

A mysterious Digimon wearing a red mask. It is wandering the Digital World and building its training. It is a master of espionage, and if it is hiding within the trees of a forest, or hiding underwater, catching sight of its figure is considerably difficult. Also, although it differs in school and doctrine from Revolmon, who is also one of the "Virus Busters", they are comrades in arms since olden times, and are also good rivals.

  • Elemental Weapon: Has a combo attack with Gabumon in which it empowers its sword with Gabumon's Petit Fire attack to unleash a fiery slash.
  • Flechette Storm: Its "Iga-ryū Shuriken Nage" note  attack throws large shuriken at the enemy.
  • Iaijutsu Practitioner: Its "Iga-ryū Iaijutsu" note  attack which it attacks with a sword-draw skill faster than the eye can see.
  • Ninja: Its based on the Iga-ryu ninja clan.
  • Self-Duplication: Its "Iga-ryū Ougi Bunshin no Jutsu" note  attack, temporarily creates up to eleven clones of itself.
  • Shout-Out: Its friendship with Revolmon is a nod to the fact that Yojimbo was adapted into A Fistful of Dollars.
  • Throw Down the Bomblet: Its "Kemuri-kyū" note  attack, uses a smoke bomb to conceal its escape.
  • Tornado Move: "Konoha Ranbu" note  attack, has it spin around and creates a tornado of leaves that surrounds the foe.

NiseDrimogemon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nisedrimogemon_1.jpg
As a Digimon just like Drimogemon, it was given the name "Nise" (偽? lit. "Imitation") due to its suspicious mustache. If this Digimon were to have been discovered earlier, Drimogemon could have ended up being called "Nise".
  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: Its "Nise Special" note  where it leaps forward with glowing claws to stab the opponent.
  • Bad with the Bone: Its "Nise Bone" note  where it throws a large unearthed bone at the enemy.
  • Dastardly Whiplash: The easiest way to tell it apart from a regular Drimogemon. Despite this, it's a Data-type like its regular counterpart.
  • Fast Tunnelling: It is capable of this, just like Drimogemon.
  • Techno Path: Its "Implant" where it uses a program to gives a Digimon's attacks mechanical power.
  • This Is a Drill: It's "Nise Drill Spin"note  where it attacks the enemy with the spinning drill on its head.
  • Palette Swap: Of Drimogemon, though the change is fairly minor.

Numemon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/numemon_7.png

A Mollusk Digimon which possesses a slug-like body. It prefers dark, gloomy environments, and has neither offensive power nor intelligence. A Digimon becomes a Numemon if mistakes are made in raising it, but as a matter of fact, there appears to be some hidden secret... In order to defend itself against intruders, it uses a disgusting attack in which it throws its own poop.

A notable partner to Numemon is Emilie De Rochefort of all people, as seen in Re:Digitize/Decode. Outside of crossovers, Numemon is partnered to Satsuki Tamahime.

  • Breath Weapon: Its "Chou Akushū Funsha"note  where it burps out toxic gas at the foe.
  • Earn Your Bad Ending: In the earliest V-Pets, you could only get a Numemon by failing to achieve anything else.
  • Joke Character: Weak, stupid, and disgusting. Usually the only way to get a Numemon is to raise a Digimon poorly. Really poorly. Likely due to its pathetic nature, it gained a bit of notoriety and is rather well-known for this trope.
  • Meaningful Name: Nume comes from numenume (「ヌメヌメ」), meaning soft and slippery.
  • Magikarp Power: The original Digital Monster version of Numemon was uniquely able to evolve into Monzaemon... if you could drag it through enough battles and raised the weakling's win percentage appropriately.
  • Mythology Gag: The "hidden secret" mentioned is that Numemon is (or was) one of the few Digimon in the early days capable of evolving into Monzaemon. Score one for the disgusting poop-throwing slug.
  • Overly-Long Tongue: Its "Iya~na Shita" where it licks the enemy in a disgusting way.
  • Toilet Humor: Its "Unchi" where it throws its own poop in order to defend itself against intruders, "Unchi Nage" where it throws its own excrement towards the enemy, "Choukyori Unchi Nage" where it throws its poop over a long distance and "Renzoku Unchi Nage" where it throws poop at the enemy continuously.
  • Tombstone Teeth: Numemon's grotesque appearance is accentuated by its unsettling block-shaped teeth.
  • Wolverine Publicity: It wasn't a main partner Digimon until Seekers, but due to being the original joke Digimon, it's gained several variants over the years and is prominently featured in adaptations. To put it into perspective, a Tekken character has one for a partner. It's also the first (and so far, only one) of the joke Digimon to get an X-Antibody form.

Numemon X (Numemon X-Antibody)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/numemon_x.png

The grime on its body turn into tiny Numemon, which then fall off and float around the main body. Although it goes around flaunting the X-Antibody it holds in its mouth, it is so covered in drool that not a single Digimon would even think of stealing it. Despite its appearance, however, it is actually a caring Digimon; it hides a courageous side and will stand against even formidable opponents for the sake of protecting its friends.

  • Cowardly Lion: Weak and disgusting it may be, but Numemon will stand up against stronger enemies to protect its friends.
  • Joke Character: A Numemon with its powers enhanced by the X-Antibody... is still pretty weak and pathetic by Digimon standards.
  • Mook Maker: Its body constantly buds tiny Numemon, which float around their "parent".
  • Real Men Wear Pink: Downplayed. The X-Antibody's main change is that it's primarily pink instead of green. It's barely stronger than base Numemon, but it's actually willing to stand up for those it cares about.
  • Toilet Humor: Its "Unchi Rush" note  where it throws a barrage of poop together with its tiny Numemon all at once.

Octomon (Octmon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/octmon.jpg
A Mollusk Digimon that was discovered from the virus used by a fiendish hacker to crash a rival's research computer. It has a nasty habit of collecting things; the tips of its tentacles are affixed with claws obtained from a Devidramon's data, and it is clad throughout with Digi-Treasure which it gathered from the bottom of the Net Ocean. Fujitsumon, a kind of tiny Shellfish-type Digimon, cling to the pot it wears on its head. These Fujitsumon develop their senses, and it is thought that they have formed a symbiotic relationship so that if they sense danger they inform Octomon.

Notable users of Octomon include the Poi Brothers.
  • Abnormal Ammo: Its "Kaimei Bokujū" note  where it shoots a bullet packed with potently toxic ink.
  • Tentacled Terror: A Virus attribute, Mollusk Type digital Octopus.

Omekamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/omekamon.jpg
A Puppet Digimon born from the data of a certain computer's design drawing. It doesn't know who it is, so for now, it dresses as one of the holy "Royal Knights", who are famous among Digimon. As for the pen, it seems it found it within a certain computer's art software.
  • Abnormal Ammo: Its "Rakugaki Rocket" note  where it fires off the pen it carries on its back like a rocket, stains the body, annoying other Digimon.
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Its "Omeka Kick" is a unexpectedly powerful flying mid-air kick.
  • Fanboy: Of Omegamon, the Digimon it's imitating
  • Meaningful Name: Omeka is meant to be a take on Omegamon. Mecha is short for mechanical.
  • Inconsistent Dub: Its D-Spirit 2 name was "Omechamon".
  • Shout-Out: It basically is a LEGO Minifigure.

Ogremon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ogremon.png

A Digimon whose form resembles that of the oni from Eastern legends. The attacks it performs using its absurdly developed muscles exhibit tremendous destructive power. Although it has high intelligence, it has a violent temperament, and there is no limit to the destruction it brings about with anger acting as its driving force. Due to its intense love for battle, it will boldly challenge opponents that greatly surpass it in combat ability, earning it the nickname "Digimon Hunter". The "Hone Konbou" note  it wields in its right arm was earned from defeating SkullGreymon in battle.

Tagiru Akashi has one in his possession.

  • Arch-Nemesis: He's bitter rivals with Leomon.
  • Bad with the Bone: His club is made out of a bone taken from a SkullGreymon.
  • "Blind Idiot" Translation: Its official Reference Book name lists it as "Orgemon", which swaps the 'g' and 'r' for a much more literal translation than usual. Digimon Adventure: (2020)'s subtitles resorted to using this name.
  • Blood Knight: Enjoys fighting to the point of actively seeking ever stronger opponents.
  • Genius Bruiser: Ogremon is stated to have high intelligence in spite of its destructive, anger-driven personality.
  • Hand Blast: Its "Haouken" note  where it shoots a dark version of Leomon's Juuouken.
  • Offscreen Moment of Awesome: The bone it wields comes from a SkullGreymon that it defeated in combat. SkullGreymon is rather infamous for its uncontrollable, destructive power, so this was no easy feat.
  • Our Ogres Are Hungrier: In this case, they're green-skinned, horned, oni-like beings and cartoonishly evil.
  • Shock and Awe: Its "Hone Konbou" where it strikes the enemy with an electrically-charged Hone Konbou.
  • Stock Femur Bone: His club is made out of one such bone.
  • Red Baron: It is nicknamed the "Digimon Hunter".
  • Too Many Belts: In grand old Digimon tradition, he has five belts on his left leg and several more around his waist.

Ogremon X (Ogremon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ogremon_x.png

Its cruelty and wild temperament have intensified, turning it into a crazed warrior that attacks with glee. It wields an axe made by fusing an electric guitar and electric chainsaw together as a weapon, and uses it to play out its soul (Digicore)'s excitement in the form of a rock rhythm.

  • The Berserker: Thanks to the X-Antibody amplifying its violent temperament, it's become an uncontrolled, bloodthirsty warrior.
  • Bloodier and Gorier: Its weapon has visible bloodstains on it.
  • Chainsaw Good: Its weapon is made in part out of a chainsaw.
  • Instrument of Murder: Its new weapon is a combination chainsaw and electric guitar. While it prefers to use it as a weapon, it can still play music on the thing.
  • Shock and Awe: Its "WEEK END" where it bangs down with its guitar; it makes for an especially fearsome technique when it strums its guitar, creating an electric shock which, together with its electric chainsaw, tears the opponent into pieces.

Paledramon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/paledramon.jpg
Debut: Digimon Encounters
Attacks: Congelation Breath, Endless Frost, Ice Age, Meteor Hail

A Digimon that evolved from Blucomon. Its large wings of ice allow it to fly at high speed, even in foul weather. Changes in temperature due to the environment no longer have an effect on its body, but when facing hot Digimon such as Meramon, its body will melt just like its Child form, causing its power to decrease. It has a strong sense of camaraderie, so if a Digimon who it has teamed up with falls into a crisis, it will try to help them out without considering the risks.

Parasaurmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/parasaumon.jpg
Debut: Digimon Pendulum Z II
Attacks: Palsy Sweet, Wavy Oktavist

A gentle Dinosaur Digimon that lives in a warm climate. The fruit-like organs around its long neck sprinkle a sweet scent into its surroundings. This scent has the role of informing the herd of their position, and it seems that the scent differs slightly depending on the individual.

  • Badass Pacifist: It's a gentle herbivore by nature, but has several means of defense that keep it from being easy prey.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Parasaurmon is a virus Digimon, but it's a gentle creature.
  • Mighty Roar: Its Wavy Oktavist emits a low-pitched cry at a ten-meter radius that's powerful enough to passively crush rocks. The attack is described as a "whirlpool of destruction".
  • The Paralyzer: Its Palsy Sweet attack spews a numbing gas from its mouth to immobilize oncoming predators.

Peckmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/peckmon.jpg

A Bird Digimon with powerful leg strength, such that it would be faster for it to run than fly in the air.

Peckmon is the Champion level of Falcomon (2006 Anime Version), and is partnered to Ikuto Noguchi (Keenan Crier) and Sho Kahara.

  • Acrophobic Bird: Being an ostrich, it's not a great flyer, though it can occasionally be seen gliding. Its powerful legs make up for its lack of flight.
  • Beak Attack: Its "Thousand Beak" where it pecks the enemy moving fast enough to create an army of after-images.
  • Flechette Storm: Its "Kunaibane" note  where it fires the steel feathers it stores in the undersides of its wings.
  • Noble Bird of Prey: A Ninja ostrich of the vaccine attribute.
  • Recurring Element: In addition to being Falcomon's Champion form in Data Squad, who's already the resident bird Digimon and Sixth Ranger at the same time, it's also both of these by itself in Digimon Next.
  • Spin Attack: Its "Spiral Claw" where it leaps into air and spins at high speed drilling into foe with its talons and "Burning Spiral" where it uses a "Spiral Claw" that burns from the friction.

Petermon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/petermon.jpg
A Digimon which has the appearance of a boy that dances freely in the sky. It tempts young and childish Digimon that refuse to evolve with, "Let's make a country just for children," calling them to the children's world of "Never-Ever Land" that it built. It's said to have a naive and innocent personality, but thanks to its purity there a brutality lurks within. In particular, although it calls it a "Pretend Punishment", it mercilessly beats Digimon who break their promises. With Petermon's first-class handling of its sword, it delicately manipulates the knife on its hip to punish the opponent.
  • Age Lift: Ironically for a Digimon based on Peter Pan, Petermon is a Champion (Adult) level instead of a Rookie (Child) level. It more so resembles a cross between Peter himself, and Link from The Legend of Zelda.
  • Berserk Button: Don't break promises around it.
  • Combination Attack: "Petermon Syndrome" is a combo attack with Tinkermon that forces the foe to follow the duo to Never-Ever Land.
  • Expy: It's one to Peter Pan, of course. It has the flight down, it created Never Ever Land for young Digimon that refuse to evolve, and it has a childlike personality with a brutal nature deep down similar to the original book. As if it wasn't obvious enough, he even has a Tinker Bell expy in Tinkermon.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: It will do this if you break a promise around it.
  • Throwing Your Sword Always Works: Its "Twinkle Shoot" where it throws its sword, which seeks out the opponent until it lands a blow.

Piddomon (Pidmon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pidmon.jpg
An Angel Digimon which has two wings and whose body is clad in shining white cloth. Although it is a being of perfected virtue like Angemon, its rank is below Angemon's. However, its power is on par with Angemon, and it is a being that destroys evil, wielding its "Holy Rod".
  • Combat Medic: It "Mega Heal" attack.
  • The Faceless: Its helmet covers its face.
  • Flight: It can fly with the pair of wings on its back.
  • Knight Templar: Against evil, just like Angemon.
  • Magic Staff: Its "Pid Speed" where it quickly rams the enemy with an energy-charged Holy Rod.
  • Meaningful Name: "Pid" is a contraction of cupid, the Roman god of love, widely used in modern western culture as part of metaphors involving romance and courtship. "Piddo" is a corruption of "pid".
  • Our Angels Are Different: Like Angemon but with two wings
  • Palette Swap: Of Angemon.
  • Playing with Fire: It's "Fire Feather" where it sets its feathers ablaze with holy fire, then casts them down as meteors.
  • Tornado Move: Its "Apollo Tornado" after setting its Holy Rod on fire, spins and hits the opponent with it.
  • Winged Humanoid: Piddomon's only got two, compared to Angemon's six.

PlatinumSukamon (PlatinumScumon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/platinumsukamon.png

A poop-shaped Digimon that shines like platinum. It is a species of Sukamon that absorbed the data of minor metals, giving it a luxurious appearance, but its abilities are at the same level as Sukamon's. It appears to not have powered-up in any significant way.

  • "Blind Idiot" Translation: The official translation is "Platina Sukamon", which is wrong as "Platina" is mistranslated from "Platinum". In addition, whilst the second half is consistent in English media, it is inconsistent with regular Sukamon which is translated as "Scumon" in the Reference Book.
  • Palette Swap: A platinum recolor of the normally yellow Sukamon.
  • Talking Poo: It IS a Sukamon variant, albeit a metallic one.
  • Toilet Humor: Its "Rare Metal Unchi" note  where it throws a platinum poop, "Unchi Slider" note  where it throws a normal poop that curves in mid-air and "Trance Mesmer" where it uses gas to grant itself or its allies the ability to confuse opponents with their attacks.
  • Visual Pun: It's a polished turd, both figuratively and literally.

Porcupamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/porcupamon.jpg
Categorized as one of the Red Data Digimon species, it is a rare Digimon that fears its extinction. Although it was not originally a species that inhabited the Dark Area, it was driven off by various species of Digimon, and now it lives in the Dark Area. Its body is covered in a special razor material, and although its wickedly-dressed suit is an extreme adaptation, it is thought to be camouflage in order to stay alive in the violent Dark Area.
  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: Its "Slap and Rip" where it slashes the opponent with its blade-shaped claws.
  • Adorable Abomination: It's a teddy bear! A freakish, razor-sharp teddy bear!
  • Endangered Species: They were driven out of their original territory by other Digimon, and took up residence in the Hell of the Digital World, which hasn't helped them at all.
  • Hell-Bent for Leather: Porcupamon is covered in a special leather suit, just in order to stay alive.
  • Spikes of Villainy: They're actually hairs. Its "Madness Broach" where it stabs the opponent with its sharp body hair.

Potamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/potamon.jpg
Attacks: Shuba Shuba Potato, Bashed Potato

A gourmet Digimon that took in the data of all kinds of fries. As it walks about eating fries, it wants many Digimon to know how delicious they are, and goes around sharing fries that it recommends. It is in a competitive relationship with Burgamon over who is better when it comes to fast food.

  • Alien Hair: Of the not-hair-at-all variety. It has potato slices on its head instead.
  • Anthropomorphic Food: It's an anthropomorphic potato that really likes making fries, both as food and as improvised weapons.
  • Berserk Button: It will attack those who criticize its fries.
  • Death from Above: It drops giant fries out of the sky for its Bashed Potato attack.
  • Improvised Weapon: It throws sharpened fries for its Shuba Shuba Potato attack.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: It's yet another Champion level that's the size of a Rookie.
  • The Rival: Serves as one to Burgamon, competing over whether burgers or fries are better.

Publimon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/600px_publimon.jpg
Attacks: Dual Presser, Juke-Crack

A Mutant Digimon wearing a shell hood that loves observing other Digimon, and transmits the data it has compiled on them throughout the Digital World. Since the content is very trivial, it will occasionally report things regardless of whether it puts its life at risk, for example, clashing with Angel Digimon for taking an interest in the Three Archangels. Although it is supported by a large number of readers due to the content that it publishes, there are many readers who detest it. However, those who harm its readers will fall victim to its forced coverage of them vigorously.

    R-S

RaptorSparrowmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/raptorsparrowmon_b.jpg
Debuted in: Digimon Xros Wars

An evolution of Sparrowmon whose whole body has become armored in Chrome Digizoid metal. It has eliminated its disadvantageous weakness to strikes by means of the Chrome Digizoid armor, and with its flexible wings it has gained the ability to make sharp, high-speed turns. Although its fortes are hit and away, battlefield disruption, and the like, its moody personality hasn't changed, and it frequently makes blunders.

RaptorSparrowmon is the Champion form of Sparrowmon and is partnered to Kotone Amano, due to her sister and Sparrowmon's usual partner Nene being out of commission in this continuity.

  • Chrome Champion: Just like the other Xros Wars evolutions it is armored in Chrome Digizoid.
  • Lightning Bruiser: It still has the great speed and strength the original Sparrowmon has, but now with more control thanks to its flexible bird-like wings.
  • Made of Iron: As befits anyone using Chrome Digizoid armor
  • Morphic Resonance: Retains Sparrowmon's bronze headgear.
  • Retcon: In 2020, the Digimon Reference Book made it a Champion. It previously did not have a level due to debuting in the Digimon Fusion continuity.

Raremon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/raremon.png

An Undead Digimon whose muscles have all rotted away. It tried to extend its life by mechanizing its body, but it destabilized its body, and its configuration data has begun to break down. However, because it was given life by those machines, it will not die, and survives with this grotesque appearance. Because its body has broken down, its offensive power and mental capacity are nonexistent, and it acts on instinct. It gives off a foul stench from its entire body, so that Digimon up to the Child-level will simply run away, and will not be its opponent until they grow to the Adult-level.

  • Acid Attack: Its "Hedoro" note  where it spits gas or acid from its mouth that corrodes anything it touches.
  • Blob Monster: Downplayed. It has the look, but it's more of a rotting corpse kept on life support. That said, it has been depicted as a proper Blob Monster in Digimon Adventure: (2020), where it's able to absorb objects and enemy attacks.
  • Breath Weapon: Its "Kusai Gas" note  where it spits green gas from its mouth.
  • Cyborg: One gone horribly wrong: Raremon's what happens when a Digimon's attempt to fuse with technology to digivolve fails, leaving the unfortunate creature a mass of rotting flesh and malfunctioning mechanical implants.
  • Super Spit: It spits acidic sludge.
  • Took a Level in Badass: It started out as Ver. 5's Joke Character, being obtained through improperly raising a Digimon. As the years rolled by, it became a more standard Champion level in terms of power, and is far bigger than the other original "joke" Digimon. It's also the one of the five that's most likely to put up a fight.
  • The Undead: Mixed with And I Must Scream — Raremon is somewhere between being barely alive and being a heap of rotting flesh crudely animated by its cybernetics.

RedVeedramon (RedV-dramon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/redv_dramon.png

A variation of V-dramon whose body has been turned a deep red. It is said that V-dramon evolves into this form when it reaches the peak of its anger.

  • Breath Weapon: Its "V-Breath Arrow" is an attack which spits out a hot bright light shaped like the letter V from its mouth.
  • The Bus Came Back: RedV-dramon was entirely absent from any Digimon media for fourteen years, until reappearing in Next 0rder.
  • Palette Swap: Of V-dramon.
  • Red Is Violent: It's said V-dramon only reaches this form when it reaches "the peak of its anger".

RedVegiemon (RedVegimon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/redvegimon.png

A strengthened version of Vegiemon whose entire body has ripened and turned red. It has high intelligence and offensive ability, unlike Vegiemon, who is still unripe. This red, ripened form is Vegiemon's true form, and it is possible that the harsher environments found on the Folder Continent caused Vegiemon to take on this original form. Its personality has turned even more devious and cunning. Anyone who carelessly tries to take it on, mistaking it for an ordinary Vegiemon, will no doubt meet a terrible fate.

  • Abnormal Ammo: Its "Red Hot Machine Gun" where it rapid-fires numerous chili peppers out of its mouth.
  • "Blind Idiot" Translation: The official translation is "Red Vagimon". This is incorrect as the name is meant to be from "Veggie", and it is also inconsistent with "Vegimon" which didn't get changed this way. The "Vagimon" part also sounds like...well, something else.
  • Breath Weapon: Its "Hazard Breath" where it breathes a cloud of putrid, poison-laced gas.
  • Law of Chromatic Superiority: The regular Vegiemon is in the same league as Numemon or Sukamon, while RedVegiemon is at least comparable to its fellow Champions.
  • Palette Swap: A red variant of Vegiemon, due to its being ripe.
  • Plant Person: An intelligent plant.
  • Poisonous Person: Hazard Breath is a poisonous breath attack.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Vegiemon is normally rather pathetic, about equal to a Numemon in terms of power. The much more ripe RedVegiemon, on the other hand, is a lot more powerful and cunning.

Reppamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/reppamon.jpg
A kamaitachi-like Digimon whose tail has become a blade. There is a will in the blade on its tail, and it has become possible for it to cope even with attacks that surprise it from behind. However, it isn't suited for mutual communication, and it has been seen quarreling with its tail in the middle of battle. It prefers to fight within forests, and it skillfully employs its claws and tail to easily climb trees, so close attention is necessary when fighting Reppamon in the forest.

Reppamon is a known Champion level to Kudamon (2006 Anime Version and is partnered to Rentaro Satsuma (Richard Sampson).
  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: Its "Jūga Rangeki" note  where it wildly tears up the opponent with its sharp claws.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Its "Kurukuru Rekkūzan" note  where it rolls towards the opponent, slicing them with its tail.
  • Blow You Away: It has a wind-based attack.
  • Meaningful Name: Reppa 「裂破(レッパ)」 meaning "to tear apart".
  • Multiple Head Case: With its tail. While it can deal with attacks from behind due to the extra help, it's prone to arguing with its tail even during battle.
  • Razor Wind: Its "Shinkū Kamaitachi" note  where it fires a blade of wind that can't be seen by the eye from its tail.

Reptiledramon (Raptordramon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/reptiledramon.jpg

A Cyborg Digimon that transformed itself from a wild Digimon that possessed a predatory instinct into a basis for modifications, in order to reliably bring down its targets. Because the ferocious nature it possesses is too strong for its organic body to bear, it remodeled them with their corresponding weight in pure Chrome Digizoid metal, restraining their capacity for movement. However, whether it has high power output and flying ability or not is due largely to the organic body of the wild Digimon, before it was modified. Although it's small, if it gradually releases those abilities, it has the capability to easily bring down even a massive Digimon in a single blow.

Reptiledramon is noted as a possible Champion for Dorumon, and is partnered to Kota Doumoto in Digimon Chronicle.

  • Foe-Tossing Charge: Its "Crash Charge" is an assault that capitalizes on the sharpness of its Chrome Digizoid metal armor.
  • Mon Bites Mon: Its "Ambush Crunch" where it leaps upon the opponent and instantly bites and rends their vitals with its sharp teeth.
  • Signature Move: Crash Charge is described as such.
  • Unobtanium: It remodelled itself with Chrome Digizoid.

Roachmon (Gokimon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gokimon.jpg
Debut: Digital Monster Ver. S
Attacks: Dream Dust

This black-lustered body is the very cockroach that everyone hates. It moves around stealthily and nimbly, and runs away even faster. Although you can hardly expect it to have offensive or defensive ability, because of its immeasurable stamina, it shows itself at its best when it comes to a protracted war.

Rockmon (Golemon (PS))

Attacks: Guardian Bomb, Anti-Digi Beam, Gargant Press
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rockmon.jpg

A Golemon variant encountered in the PlayStation games. While prior evidence suggested it was just a Golemon with its model not coded in, Digimon Adventure: (2020) shows it acting as an entity by itself, making it an official species.

  • The Bus Came Back: Rockmon appeared in an episode of Digimon Adventure: (2020), after many had thought it was obsolete past the turn of the millennium.
  • Hand Blast: Its Anti-Digi Beam is a beam attack fired from one of its hands.
  • Inconsistent Dub: Currently averted; it hasn't appeared in enough English media past the turn of the century to be called "Golemon" just yet.
  • Tron Lines: It's made of them, with its body only consisting of a wireframe grid. Its Guardian Bomb is an Energy Ball with this aesthetic as well.
  • Wrestler in All of Us: Its Gargant Press in which it jumps into the air and performs a moonsault.

Runnermon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/runnermon.jpg
Debut: Vital Bracelet Digital Monster
Attacks: Lightning Rush, Heartbeat Impulse

A Beast Digimon that evolved via the data from a treadmill. It is capable of running without any loss in speed even through areas with poor footing such as mountainous areas or swamplands. However, rather than its speed or ability to cover distances, its stamina deserves special mention; it is able to continue running for long periods while maintaining its top speed the entire time.

  • Cool Helmet: It wears a helmet with a lightning bolt and visor similar to Pulsemon's fringe and crest respectively.
  • Flechette Storm: It can fire energy blades from its tail for its Heartbeat Impulse attack.
  • Foe-Tossing Charge: It's Lightning Rush attack has it charge at super-speed.
  • Morphic Resonance: It has armored boots resembling Pulsemon's on all four paws, complete with green markings. Pulsemon's lightning bolt-shaped fringe and green crest also become a feature of its helmet and a visor respectively.
  • Panthera Awesome: It looks vaguely like a tiger with lightning patterns on its back and underside.

Saberdramon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/saberdramon.png

A Digimon shrouded in black flames. Due to the roughness of its temperament, for which it continues counter attacks against enemies to a ferocious degree, it's difficult to even approach it.

  • Casting a Shadow: Its "Black Saber" where it either strikes from the air with the talons on its feet or shoots dark rings by flapping its wings.
  • Combat Medic: Its "Anti Confusion" cures confusion.
  • Evil Counterpart: A hostile and aggressive mirror to the more passive Birdramon.
  • Feathered Dragons: Just like Birdramon, it's first and foremost a bird Digimon, but its name, its snaggle-fanged and its control over fire mark it as a very avian member of the dramon family of draconic Digimon.
  • Feathered Fiend: A hostile and aggressive bird Digimon too dangerous for most people to even approach. Its "Night Roar" shoots feathers from its wings.
  • Inconsistent Dub: Its name in Digimon Masters is "Sabirdramon".
  • Palette Swap: A black recolor of the orange Birdramon.
  • Punny Name: If you say its name out loud, it sounds like "Sa-Birdramon".
  • Spectacular Spinning: Its "Mach Shadow" where it rams the opponent at high speed while spinning.
  • Toothy Bird: Just like Birdramon, it has a fanged mouth instead of a beak.

SandYanmamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sandyanmamon.jpg
A species of Yanmamon that lives in the desert. Unlike Yanmamon, it has a carefree personality, but is merciless against Digimon that enter its territory.

Sangloupmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sangloupmon.jpg
A noble, bloodsucking wolf Digimon. It is a considerably old species of Digimon, and is said to have survived since the Genesis of the Digital World. Digimon who have had their blood sucked by Sangloupmon have all the information drawn out of their Digicores, cease vital functions, and die. Sangloupmon is able to instantly move to different places as it rushes about the Net by breaking down its data into packets of its own volition. For this reason, it is said to be very difficult to capture Sangloupmon.

Sangloupmon is the main Champion form of Dracumon, and is partnered to Kaito Shinonome.
  • Depending on the Artist: Its eyes. Sangloupmon wears a One-Way Visor shaped like bat wings that covers its eyes from most angles, but doesn't actually hug its face. This is fine for official artwork, which always has Sangloupmon positioned so that its eyes are covered. On the other hand, games that use 3D models of it also tend to have free-moving cameras that can look into the visor. Digimon Masters portrays it with its Eyes Always Shut while Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker's Memory gives it big red eyes.
  • Flechette Storm: Its "Sticker Blade" where it flings thousands of tiny blades and instantaneously skewering the opponent from within.
  • Meaningful Name: Sang 「サング」 Sangu) is the French word for blood and Loup (「ルゥ」 Rū) is the French word for wolf.
  • Our Vampires Are Different: A vampiric wolf.
  • Shadow Walker: Its "Black Mind" where it disassembles his own data to melt into his opponent's shadow.

Seadramon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/seadramon.png

An Aquatic Digimon that has a long, serpentine body. Using its long body, it wreathes itself around approaching enemies and constricts them until they are suffocated. It did not have any intelligence to begin with, and it swims around the Net Ocean, wherever its instincts take it.

Seadramon is often depicted as the Champion form of Betamon. Notable partners include the American Chosen Child Michael, Keisuke Amasawa, and Chitose Imai.

  • An Ice Person: Its "Chilblains" where it uses its body to hit the water, creating a wall of ice.
  • Breath Weapon: Its "Ice Arrow" where it discharges a breath of absolute zero-temperatured water, which freezes the enemy solid upon contact, "Water Breath" is an attack where after turning backwards, Seadramon sprays a breath of water out of its mouth and "Cold Breath" where it blows an icy breath from its mouth, freezing the opponent.
  • Making a Splash: Its "Water Breath" attack.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: A serpentine sea dragon, and the predecessor of several other dragon Digimon.
  • Sea Serpents: Pretty much your average sea serpent as a limbless marine dragon, but with more ice attacks.

Seadramon X (Seadramon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/seadramonx.jpg
Its body has been specialized solely for swimming quicker underwater, and its sense of smell underwater has developed further. Although it does not approach anyone bigger than itself, it sniffs out injured Digimon far off in the distance and attacks them. Rather than its intelligence, its instincts, which it acquired through its struggle to survive, appear strongly.
  • An Ice Person: In addition to its base form's Ice Arrow, it has a continuously-fired version of said attack called Ice Spear.
  • Breath Weapon: Retains both of the regular Seadromon's breath attacks, though Ice Arrow also gets a more powerful variant.

Sealsdramon

For tropes pertaining to this Digimon, see its entry in the page for the D-Brigade.

Seasarmon (Siesamon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/siesamon.jpg

A Digimon which has the appearance of the legendary holy beast, the "Siisaa". It has the power to sweep away calamity, and exhibits tremendous power toward evildoers. It is an ally to those that are kind-hearted, and will try to protect its Tamer from every calamity, even if it has to sacrifice its own body. Contrary to its heroic appearance, it usually basks leisurely in the sunlight, due to its docile personality. However, the sunlight is an important factor for Seasarmon, because it charges its life energy.

Seasarmon is a known Champion level of Labramon, and is partnered to Minami Uehara.

  • Asian Lion Dogs: It's based on the shisa from Ryukyuan culture. It's described as being extremely loyal and protective of its Tamer, as well as capable of standing against calamity and evil.
  • Barrier Warrior: Its "Sekkantou" temporarily prevents the intrusion of evil Viruses, as a kind of Firewall.
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: Seasarmon has some very impressively big eyebrows on it.
  • Holy Hand Grenade: Its "Tiida Ija" note  fires countless holy arrows of sunlight.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: Seasarmon prefers lounging around in the sun, but once it starts fighting...
  • Meaningful Name: The Shīsā (シーサー) is a lion-dog said to protect the islands of Okinawa. The beast is represented throughout Okinawa and Japan by auspicious statues.
  • Mix-and-Match Critter: Like the creature it's based on, Seasarmon is a mix of dog (heroic and loyal to its owner) and cat (likes snoozing around in the sun).
  • The Power of the Sun: Fuelled by sunlight, which requires it to doze around soaking up the rays.

Seasarmon X (Siesamon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/siesamonx.jpg
It is clad in golden armor that shines as it basks in the sunlight, and forms a barrier that repels attacks from Demon-species Digimon. It seems that you can tell how long it has been charging for based on how red its tail is. These days, Seasarmon sunbathes leisurely to prepare itself for battle against evil Digimon.
  • Light 'em Up: Its "Koryūkyū" where it turns into a ball of light and attacks evil.

Shademon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shademon.jpg
A Digimon with no substance that haunts the shadows of humans and Digimon. It feeds on the despair of the haunted opponent and transforms it into its own nourishment, and it is said that which fiendish Digimon it evolves to varies by the amount ingested.

It was a member of the Twilight (Midnight) army in the manga's series of events.
  • Animalistic Abomination: A mass of shadow and eyes that ends in a vaguely canine head.
  • Draw Aggro: Inflicts this on its victim.
  • Emotion Eater: It transforms the despair of those it haunts into food it can eat, though it can also eat other emotions and can evolve into multiple different forms depending on what kind of emotions it ate and in what quantities and rations to each other.
  • Extra Eyes: It is a shadow with red eyes distributed across its form.
  • Living Shadow: Which in turn lives in your shadows.
  • Mind Rape: Its "Free Death Fall" where it continuously displays illusions of being knocked to the ground 10,000 times.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Its "Kill Me" manipulates the surrounding Digimon to assault the enemy who is being haunted.

Shellmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shellmon.png

A hermit crab-like Digimon that lives in the margins of the "Net Ocean". Although it has a turtle-like appearance when its settled inside its shell, for all intents and purposes it has a soft body like a mollusk. Because its body rapidly gets bigger as it grows, it replaces its home each time until it reaches the size of a small mountain. Also, if its body can fit all the way in, it has a habit of settling in completely. Since it has low intelligence and a belligerent personality, you must be careful if you come across a Shellmon.

Shellmon is a possible evolution of Shakomon, and is partnered to Miu Shinonome.

  • Cartoon Creature: While it's supposed to be a hermit crab, only its shell looks the part; the body underneath resembles Agumon or Tyrannomon more than a real-life hermit crab. Also, crabs in general don't have hands.
  • Giant Enemy Crab: It's based on a hermit crab.
  • Foe-Tossing Charge: Its "Drill Shell" where it tucks its body inside its shell, then spins at high speeds to strike the opponent and "Spin Shellder" where it tucks its body inside its shell, then spins at high speeds, moving in a zig-zag pattern.
  • Making a Splash: Its "Hydro Pressure" where it shoots liquid at high pressure.

ShimaUnimon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shimaunimon1.jpg
A subspecies of Unimon that has stripes all over its body. Because the data of the Unicorn is more highly expressed in its body, it lacks the wings of the Pegasus. For that reason, it is unable to fly in the air, but it races across the land with its powerful legs. Also, its Unicorn horn is sharper than Unimon's, and its lethal potential has increased.
  • Breath Weapon: Its "Raster Shot" where it spits out a blast of green energy from its mouth.
  • Combat Medic: Its "Anti Paralyze" cures Digimon of paralysis.
  • Horn Attack: Its "Shima Cone Thrust" where it stabs the enemy with the horn on its head. Said horn is also much sharper and deadlier than regular Unimon's.
  • Light 'em Up: Its "Mirage Dance" where it kicks with the hind legs while giving off light.
  • Lightning Bruiser: While it lacks Unimon's wings, its legs are stronger and its horn is sharper, making it a deadlier combatant on the ground.
  • Meaningful Name: Shima comes from Shimauma 「縞馬(シマウマ)」 meaning "zebra" and Uni comes from Unicorn.
  • Palette Swap: A Unimon redone to have zebra stripes and no wings.
  • Shock and Awe: Its "Wild Thunder" shoots a bolt of blue lightning from its horn.
  • Unicorn: Coming from Unimon itself. In fact, it's more of a unicorn than Unimon, as it lack the latter's wings. This is due to having more evident unicorn data.
  • Yellow Lightning, Blue Lightning: Its Wild Thunder attack is explicitly stated to use blue lightning.
  • Zebras Are Just Striped Horses: ShimaUnimon is a zebra-colored unicorn that can be domesticated like a regular Unimon.

Shoeshoemon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shoeshoemon.jpg
Debuted in: Digimon Liberator

  • Green Thumb: Its "Donguri Bomb" involves throwing acorn-shaped bombs.
  • Rollerblade Good: It's able to glide through treetops on roller skates.

Shonitamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shounitamon_b.jpg
Debuted in: Digimon Fusion

The "Armed-Reconnaissance Mode" born from two Digimon's overflowing curiosity. It specialises in methods of concealing its appearance, freely uses ninjitsu to penetrate enemy territory, and can transmit the enemy info it has accumulated with its allies with Monitamon's "Information Sharing" ability, and is able to withdraw whenever it likes without being noticed... however, although this has potential, for some mysterious and specific reason, it is never seen exhibiting this ability. Because its curiosity easily gets the best of it, it frequently sneaks into areas differing from its objective, and performs the wrong armed reconnaissance against its better judgement. In particular, there are many eyewitness reports of it at hot springs or pools. It insists that it is a "scout", not a "voyeur".

  • Constantly Curious: Which gets it into trouble.
  • Covert Pervert: Uses its array of stealth techniques to hide near swimming pools.
  • Fusion Dance: Between a Shoutmon and a Monitamon.
  • Highly-Visible Ninja: Just look at it.
  • Insistent Terminology: It would have you believe it's a scout, not a voyeur.
  • Joke Character: Similar to DonShoutmon, PawnShoutmon and JijiShoutmon.
  • Retcon: In 2020, the Digimon Reference Book made it a Champion. It previously did not have a level due to debuting in the Digimon Fusion continuity. Currently, it's one of the only two joke Digimon to be given a level, along with DonShoutmon.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shootingstarmon_b.jpg

It is a member of the Xros Heart (Fusion Fighters) army, but only in the manga.

  • Colony Drop: Its Astro Bomber attack turn it into a very small one of these, flying into the atmosphere and coming back down to make a massive crater.
  • Fusion Dance: A Jogress-evolution between one Starmon and a lot of Pickmons. It's one of the few examples of a Digimon that evolves into its next form by Jogressing with its pre-evolution.
  • Rousing Speech: It can rekindle an ally's fighting spirit by shouting inspirational speeches.
  • Retcon: In 2020 the Digimon Reference Book made it a Champion. It previously did not have a level due to debuting in the Digimon Fusion continuity.
  • Triangle Shades: They come from the Starmon component.

  • Facial Markings: Has black markings under its eyes.
  • Hot-Blooded: Averted, it's much more temperate than it used to be.

Attacks: Horn Breaker DX, Mac Arrow, Arm Bunker, Optic Laser, Miya Vulcan, Buddy Blaster

The "Enhanced Armor" Mode of Ballistamon, who excels in defense, confers physical strength and defense several times over to that Digimon by housing another Digimon within, and furthermore, as a result of fusing the latent abilities of these two Digimon, it brings out many special moves.

  • Powered Armor: Is basically just Shoutmon wearing Ballistamon.
  • The Power of Friendship: What its Buddy Blaster attack blasts its enemies with.
  • Retcon: Like all Xrosses of Shoutmon, it has been retconned to have a level after years of not having one. In this case, it is a Champion like Shoutmon (King Version).

Shoutmon X3

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shoutmon_x3_b.jpg
Debuted in: Digimon Fusion
Attacks: Three Victorize, Three Impact, Victorize Boomerang

A warrior called the 'Physical Mode', born from three Digimon's combat instinct and possessing the fundamental abilities of 'spirit, skill, and power' in great supply. Its motion is rich in manueverability, and it makes sport of the enemy with its acrobatic movements. It appears slender and because its flexible joints absorb and dissipate the force they receive, it has the power to resist impacts.

  • Battle Boomerang: Uses the crest on its chest as one in its Victorize Boomerang attack.
  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Has Dorulumon's tail, drill and all. It carries over to X4, X5, X7, and their DigiXroses.

  • Fusion Dance: A combination of Shoutmon, Ballistamon and Dorulumon.

  • Lightning Bruiser: Thanks to a combination of Dorulumon's speed mixed with Ballistamon's strength and durability.
  • Retcon: Like the other Shoutmon Xrosses, it has been retconned to have a level. In this case, it's another Champion level.

Shoutmon X4

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shoutmon_x4_b.jpg
Debuted in: Digimon Fusion
Attacks: Burning Star Crusher, Three Victorize, Three Impact, High Atmospheric Pressure, Burning Star Slasher

A miraculous form called the "Victory Mode", born from four Digimon's powerful desire to gain absolute victory. Its raison d'etre is nothing but enforcing this conviction. That power is tremendous, and it isn't a mistake to count it as one of the strongest Digimon.

  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Still has Dorulumon's tail, complete with the drill.
  • Chest Blaster: It keeps X3's Three Victorize and gets a stronger version called Three Victorize Max Power.

  • Cool Sword: It's literally just Shoutmon X3 with the Star Sword, which has become the Star Sword DX.
  • The Dividual: The Starmon and the twelve Pickmon that make up the Star Sword are counted as a singular Digimon, as they are with all of X4 and X5's Xrosed forms.

  • Sword Beam: Burning Star Slasher creates these.
  • Technicolor Blade: Some official artwork depicts the sword with a red blade.

Sistermon Ciel

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sistermon_ciel.jpg
A Digimon wearing a veil modeled after a mouse, it is Sistermon Blanc's elder sister as well as the twin sister of Noir. Instead of traveling together with Noir and Blanc, it roams around the Digital World investigating unusual phenomena and reports its findings to Gankoomon. Despite its gentle personality, it is strong-willed and popular with the Digimon residing in the places it visits. While it is friendly and leads a peaceful life by day, by night it turns into an assassin who hunts down any troublemakers it receives word of. It has a cherished sword named "Shirotsume-Ichimonji" note .
  • Gratuitous French: "Ciel" means "sky-blue", which makes sense as Sistermon Ciel only wears cyan and white.
  • Katanas Are Just Better: Its "Shirotsume Ichimonji-giri" note  where it cuts down the enemy without making a sound by using its cherished sword Shirotsume-Ichimonji.
  • Palette Swap: Ciel was introduced as a total replacement of Noir (including the same abilities) in Western releases of Hacker's Memory to avoid heat from the Moral Guardians over introducing a sexy nun-type Digimon to a franchise that is supposedly primarily meant for children, with the lore stating Ciel is the unseen Noir's twin sister. The official Bandai Twitter then rolled with this, giving Ciel a separate weapon and abilities, and it even got a minor appearance in Digimon Ghost Game, meaning it is considered an official Digimon.

Sistermon Ciel (Awakened) (Sistermon Ciel (Awake))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/600px_sistermon_ciel_awaken.jpg
Another form of Sistermon Ciel that has awakened. It wears a wimple, resulting in the Holy Stigma appearing on its abdomen. Its cherished sword, the "Shirotsume-Ichimonji", harbors light within its blade, and becomes sharper with each swing. It displays elegant fencing in lockstep with the radiance of its cherished sword, and the moment light overflows from its sword is precisely when it turns into a sword dance that fascinates those that see it.
  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: Her katana gets sharper with each swing.
  • Combat Aestheticist: She's a fencer who uses the glow from her blade to accentuate her graceful movements.
  • Navel Window: A stigmata symbol appeared on her stomach tore a hole in her outfit above it, revealing her midriff down to her navel.
  • Palette Swap: Of Sistermon Noir (Awakened) for the same reason Sistermon Ciel was created as a replacement for Sistermon Noir. Unlike her regular form this one would not receive distinguishing features from her Noir counterpart until appearing on a card for the Digimon Card Game in 2021.
  • Power Glows: Her katana now gives off a constant glow.
  • Rugged Scar: Over the left eye of her wimple (as seen on her card in the Digimon Card Game).

Sistermon Noir

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sistermon_noir.jpg
A nun Digimon wearing a klobuk shaped like the head of a black cat, it has a sisterly relationship with Sistermon Blanc. It breaks the ice with its extremely cheerful personality and innocent behavior. It was charged with Hackmon's care by Gankoomon, and is training Hackmon while accompanying Gankoomon on its journey. However, Sistermon Noir is working half for training, half for fun, and will point its guns and laugh even while admitting that Hackmon is sad. A long time ago, in its previous life, it was out on the streets with its younger sister Blanc, but they were saved by Gankoomon just as they were going to collapse from exhaustion. It carries guns called "Anthony" in its hands.
  • Combination Attack: Its "Grand Sister Cruz" where it performs a coordinated attack with Blanc.
  • Dual Wielding: Dual wields a pair of guns called "Anthony".

  • More Dakka: Its "Mickey Bullet" where it rapidly fires bullets from both Anthony guns in random directions and "Bless Fire" where it rapidly fires bullets from both Anthony guns in a straight line.

Sistermon Noir (Awakened) (Sistermon Noir (Awake))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sistermon_noir_awaken.jpg
Another form of Sistermon Noir. By wearing the veil on her head, the Holy Stigma[N 1] that appears on its chest is the awakened power. Her agility was increased by the savage power released by Awakened, and attack the enemies by surprise on their back.
  • Super Mode: A powered up version of Sistermon Noir with upgraded versions of it's attacks.

SkullKnightmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/skullknightmon_b.jpg
Debuted in: Digimon Fusion

A big brother who exchanged cups of brotherhood with Axemon. As a knight which excels in cunning, its behaviour is based on its policy, "Those who are knights must fight. Even more than fighting, they must win," and generally speaking, it puts importance on the outcomes in which it wins. Moreover, it will unabashedly perform any kind of unclean act in order to arrive at that result. It specialises on outcomes which capitalise on the size of its body, and the manner in which it dives at the opponent's chest, swinging its "Spear Needle", shows off the unthinkable actions of a knight who has forgotten its pride.

By proxy of being the main component of AxeKnightmon, it was the leader of the Twilight (Midnight) army and partnered to Nene and Yuu (Ewan) Amano. It was also an ally of Devimon in Digimon Adventure: (2020).

SkullKnightmon: Big Axe Mode

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/320px_skullknightmon_bigaxe.jpg

Axemon's "Pulverisation-Armament Mode", which exploits its sturdy body to be transformed into a weapon. That battle-axe, larger than an ordinary Digimon's body, exhibits more than enough weight and stiffness to pulverise everything. It can not only be wielded by SkullKnightmon, but can also attack autonomously as a living weapon, displaying its well-coordinated combination.

  • Equippable Ally: Not that Axemon can't move around on its own.
  • Retcon: Much like regular SkullKnightmon, it was made into a Champion level in 2020.
  • Spikes of Villainy: While in this form, SkullKnightmon's twin spears move to its shoulders.

SkullKnightmon: Cavalier Mode

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/320px_skullknightmon_cavalier.jpg

The "Assault Mode" in which SkullKnightmon is mounted on Axemon. Its main purpose is for getting close to the opponent by speeding like a bullet, defying all obstacles.

  • Beast of Battle: SkullKnightmon rides around on Axemon.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: If the battle starts looking dicey, Axemon will turn into this form to allow SkullKnightmon to get away with its skin intact.
  • Retcon: Much like regular SkullKnightmon, it was made into a Champion level in 2020.

Snatchmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snatchmon_8.jpg
Debuted In: Digimon World 3
Attacks: Ruin Laser, Tooth-spear, Fusionize

An artificial Digimon that evolved after several BEMmon that grew stronger began cannibalizing each other and one survived until the very end. In addition to Snatchmon that await command codes to act, it is said that there are some individuals that develop a sense of self, seek greater strength, and aim to become the strongest by continually preying on their enemies.

It's best known for its appearance in Digimon World 3, which was later homaged in the Digimon Card Game booster Dimensional Phase.

  • Beware My Stinger Tail: Has a blade on the end of its head-tail.
  • The Bus Came Back: It was added to the Digimon Reference Book in 2022, and got a full archetype devoted to it in the card game shortly after.
  • Collared by Fashion: Retains Bemmon's collar.
  • Cyber Cyclops: Possibly as its concept are shows it from two different angles, with one eye visible from each. Its sprite also only has one visible eye.
  • Fusion Dance: It's born from four Bemmon combining into one. It then evolves into Ragnamon by fusing with a satellite base.
  • Gone Horribly Right: BEMmom were designed and programmed only to eat other Digimon. Their makers didn't consider that other BEMmom weren't excluded from that, and that therefore only the most dangerous ones would evolve.
  • Grew Beyond Their Programming: Snatchmon having a sense of self was not part of their designer's plan.
  • Retcon: After years of its level being ambiguous, though presumed to be a Champion, its Digimon Reference Book profile finally lists it as a Champion level.
  • Too Many Belts: Has three belts around its waist, two of which loop around its right thigh. Its head-tail also has three belts.

Snimon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snimon.png

An experimental Digimon that was created at a research facility as a Virus Hunter. It was created from the data of praying mantises, and it tracks its target down as if it were a precise machine. Due to its unfeeling personality, it is feared by both Vaccine and Data-attribute Digimon. The sickles on both of its arms are honed to their sharpest, allowing it to cleanly slice through anything. Although Snimon is a Digimon that has no eyes, the red antennae growing from its head have become sensors, and are able to accurately pinpoint the target's location.

Notable users of Snimon include the Russian Chosen Child Sonya.

  • Absurdly Sharp Blade: Its blade-arms can slice through anything.
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: In an exaggeration of a real mantis' trap arms, Snimon's forelimbs end in actual metallic swords.
  • Eyeless Face: As traditional for insect-like Digimon, it has no visible eyes and a flat plate of chitin covering its face. As a result, it uses its antennae to sense the world around it.
  • Light Is Not Good: It is a Vaccine, an attribute normally associated with heroic or holy Digimon, but in most anime series, Snimon is with the villains. Snimon is also described to prey on Virus Digimon, rather than fighting evil doers. One of the few aversions appeared in 02, who is partnered with a Russian Digidestined named Lara.
  • Sword Beam: Its "Shadow Sickle" is a supersonic slash that can't be seen with the naked eye that sends out a blade-shaped shockwave.
  • Slaying Mantis: A monstrous, dangerous mantis-like monster with literal blades for arms.

Sorcermon (Sorcerimon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sorcerimon.jpg

  • An Ice Person: Its "Crystal Cloud" summons a snow cloud from its snow crystal-affixed staff, generating an immense blizzard and "Ice Illusion" creates a blizzard.
  • Inconsistent Dub: Its name in Digimon World DS was "Sorcerymon", a different spelling of its Japanese name.
  • Light 'em Up: Its other speciality aside from ice magic.
  • Making a Splash: Its "Aquarius Fill" where it uses magic from the water to fill the place with magical water that raises its parameters very slightly or shoots a jet of water at its enemy.
  • Palette Swap: Of Wizarmon.
  • Pintsized Powerhouse: Just like Wizardmon, it's much smaller than most other Champions, but is just as strong.
  • Robe and Wizard Hat: What it wears.

Soulmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/soulmon.png

A Ghost Digimon constructed from a cursed virus program. As it was a Bakemon that took in data of mages that appear in fantasy stories, the black hat it wears raises its magical power. Because of that, its attacks that make use of curses or magic are tremendously powerful.

  • Attack of the Monster Appendage: Its "Hell's Hand" where it extends a giant decaying hand from underneath its cloak to attack the enemy and "Ghost Chop" where it karate chops the enemy.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/starmon.png

A Planet Digimon that was accidentally discovered within the planet-analyzing software of a space development center. It is a space warrior equipped with a star-shaped armor suit, and star-marked gloves and boots. Its torn yellow muffler indicates Starmon's combat experience. The eyes at the center of its body are burning with fighting spirit, and are able to convey its will to the opponent even without saying a word. In addition, it is also possible for it to hypnotize the opponent as an advanced way of using them. It is a hot-blooded Digimon that looks up to the hero, Leomon.

Notable partners of Starmon include Gorou Matayoshi.

  • Colony Drop: Played with. Its "Meteor Squall" summons a rain of tiny meteors from the sky.
  • Energy Weapon: Its "Hypnotizer" hypnotizes the opponent with its eyes before shooting a star-shaped laser beam at them from its face.

Starmon X (Starmon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/starmon_x.jpg
Its passionate fighting spirit overflows even more, and its star-shaped armor suit has powered up. Its power to control stars has doubled, and it acquired its "Meteor Champion", where it causes the most devastating meteor to fall down on the enemy with pinpoint accuracy. The translucent star at the center of its body is Starmon's custom "tinted glasses", and it seems to be aware of its self-consciousness as a space warrior and its nature as a star, so it always wears them when making an appearance. Furthermore, it often removes them during battle.
  • Colony Drop: It has an upgraded version of Meteor Squall called "Meteor Champion" which causes the most destructive meteors to fall down on the enemy with precision.

Stingmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stingmon_4.jpg

  • Blow You Away: Its "Cyclone Squeeze" summons winds to attack the enemy.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Back when it was portrayed as a virus type; it specializes in being an assassin, but it's also a heroic partner in 02 and a friendly ally in Xros Wars/Fusion. Later incarnations subvert the "dark" part by making it a "free" attribute instead.
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Its "Sharp Kick" where it hits the enemy with a powerful flying kick.
  • Flechette Storm: Its "Moon Shooter" fires the spikes on its arms and "Moon Moon Shooter" fires multiple huge needles.

This nimble sky assassin is protected by its super-hard body!

Strikedramon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/strikedramon.jpg
The "Commando Dragon" that aims to be a Virus Buster is Strikedramon. Although there are many of its parts that are left-behind traces of Monodramon, like the horn extending behind it, because it transformed into the Commander Mode covered in Metal Plate, it can even be seen as a wholly different species. Although it is naturally a kindhearted Digimon since it is part of the Vaccine-species just like Angemon, once it discovers a Virus-species it becomes possessed by the extermination instinct (destruction instinct?), and it won't try to stop fighting until it has reduced the opponent to trash data. It is also said that, at that time, its red hair will burst into scorching flames, and will become bluish-white hair of flames.

Strikedramon is the main Champion level of Monodramon, and is partnered to Ryo Akiyama.
  • Fiery Redhead: Strikedramon is literally this while also being this personality wise.
  • Flaming Hair: It red hair will burst into scorching flames.
  • Good is Not Nice: Typically, Strikedramon actually is a rather good-natured Digimon who wants to be a hero, but the remnants of Monodramon's aggressive personality shine through, and once it sees an enemy it just goes berserk.
  • Morphic Resonance: Still has quite a lot of Monodramon in its design, but with a few hints as to what comes next.
  • Non-Mammalian Hair: It has waist-length red hair.
  • Playing with Fire: Its "Strike Claw" where it incandescently burns the Metal Plate on its arm and stabs the enemy and "Strike Fang" where it incandescently burns all the portions of its Metal Plate on each part of it, and it is said that its whole body becomes a mass of flames and rams into the opponent.
  • Shout-Out: Its title of "Commando Dragon" is a pun on the Komodo Dragon, largest extant lizard and well known for its aggressive personality.
  • Technicolor Fire: Pale blue.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Once it starts fighting, it doesn't stop.

Sukamon (Scumon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sukamon.png

A repulsive, poop-shaped Digimon that shines golden. It was born from the accumulation and mutation of scrap data thrown into the recycle bin of a computer desktop. It likes dark places, and being a pile of scrap data, it is similar to Numemon in that it is often hated by other Digimon. Its intelligence and offensive ability are nonexistent. Its partner, Chuumon, is a small rat-like Digimon who does not fight, but is unparalleled when it comes to cunning and is always coaxing Sukamon into performing bad deeds.

  • Dung Fu: In keeping with its Toilet Humour theme, it attacks by chucking poop.
  • Joke Character: Much like Numemon, it's disgusting, stupid and pathetically weak for its level.
  • Meaningful Name: Scu comes from scum 「スカム Sukamu」, in this context meaning "waste" and Suka is a romanization of Scu「スカ」.
  • More Teeth than the Osmond Family: Not sharp, but its mouth does go all the way around its body with teeth all the way across.
  • Talking Poo: It's a living, talking swirl of poop.
  • Those Two Guys: With Chumon, whom it rescued from a trap; where there's one, there's always the other.
  • Toilet Humour: It's a living poop, and it attacks people with faeces. This was a given.

TobuCatmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tobucatmon.jpg
A Puppet Digimon which has the appearance of a cat that flies about the Net Ocean. Although it has a rough temperament, it loves the ocean, and as the "F⑭" engraved on its body is proof that it is a Digimon that fights despite its outer appearance, it is said that only 1% of the strongest among TobuCatmon are known and respected as "Cat Gun".note  It is able to fly at high speed by folding its wings, and it has a regular habit of flying where it flashes the claws on its right feet when turning right and flashes the claws on its left feet when turning left, but sometimes its movements are read by the enemy.

A Plant Digimon which has the appearance of a gigantic cactus. It can store nutrient data within its body, and can even survive for a long time in the empty desert areas. What it's thinking usually can't be understood at all by trying to discern it from its facial expression, as it spends most of the day staring off into space. However, once Togemon is angered, that expression changes completely, it starts getting violent, and it becomes unable to settle down.

Togemon is the main Champion level of Palmon, and is partnered to Mimi Tachikawa.

Togemon X (Togemon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/togemonx.jpg
Having realized something that it had kept deep within its heart up to now, Togemon started wandering from place to place on its own. Communicating with it results in failure, probably because there were few opportunities for it to come into contact with other Digimon in the desert and wastelands, so these days it is very hot-tempered. (About Togemon's wandering) According to one theory, Togemon was originally a "Plant Weapon" used when a Vademon that was discovered and captured near a certain country's "Area 51" invaded the planet, and was said to have started advancing toward each strategic base. However, Togemon's strange behavior has caused the truth to remain a mystery. Also, its connection to the rumor that Vademon was born from the "seed of a plant" is currently being studied.
  • Boxing Battler: It wears red boxing gloves and its "Chikuchiku Bam-bam" note  is rough punches jumbled together from weak-to-medium punches.
  • Hot-Blooded: Far more aggressive than the default form.

Troopmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/troopmon_b.jpg
Debuted in: Digimon Fusion

An artificial Digimon manufactured by stuffing energy stolen from other Digimon within a special rubber body. As it is a machine-like Digimon that can only perform as commanded, it is absolutely incapable of spontaneous behaviour. It doesn't get fatigued, it doesn't feel pain, it doesn't fear death, and it doesn't need to sleep. It is definitely a fighting machine. Its collective behaviour is pretty basic, and its individual fighting strength is not very great, but that probably isn't able to make a dent in the extent of its confidence in its ability for human wave tactics, just due to the strength of its numbers. An injured Troopmon will just exhale its energy filling, transferring it to a new special rubber body which is reborn as a Troopmon, so it is actually sent out onto the battlefield many times over.

  • Body Surf: Their suits are a mechanical version. If one's suit is broken, it can simply move to another.
  • Energy Beings: They're constructed from energy stolen from normal Digimon. The outer suit is a mobile container to keep them from dispersing.
  • Finger Firearms: They have energy-weapons built into their fingers and are shown using them in Digimon Adventure: (2020).
  • Gas Mask Mooks: The gas masks stops their energy leaking out and makes them look creepy at the same time.
  • The Goomba: Often used by the enemy forces as basic ground troops, both in Digimon Fusion and in Digimon Adventure: (2020). They're generally easy to take out.
  • The Needless: They're mindless machines that don't have biological needs.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Sometimes depicted with the eyeholes in their gas masks glowing red.
  • Retcon: In 2020, the Digimon Reference Book made it a Champion. It previously did not have a level due to debuting in the Digimon Fusion continuity.
  • The Undead: Labelled as such by its profile.
  • We Have Reserves: Troopmon love human (digimon?) wave tactics.
  • Zerg Rush: What they lack in individual strength, they make up for in sheer numbers.

Turuiemon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/turuiemon.jpg

A martial artist Digimon discovered within the hinterlands of a Chinese mountain province. It pursued the viruses that exploit e-mails to do evil as their eternal enemy, and wandered the world. Although it is blessed with the makings of an unparalleled Ch'uan Fa, it is still developing it. It uses the original Togaken that it has worked out.

  • Killer Rabbit: A literal killer rabbit that knows kung-fu.
  • Meaningful Name: Turuie comes from Tù'éryé (Simplified Chinese: 兔儿爷, Traditional Chinese: 兔兒爺, Japanese: 兎児爺) (「トゥルイエ」 Turuie) is the name of a traditional Chinese toy based on the Jade Rabbit, meaning literally "Rabbit Lord".
  • Righteous Rabbit: Goes after spam email.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: It knows martial arts that is hailed as 'in-development, but unparalled'. Its "Gantoretto" note  where it uses the Tokaku Tessou note  to strike the opponent with a combo-attack unleashed with a great leap and rabbit-like agility and "Ninjin Ken" note  where it attacks with a quick and stealthy Ch'uan Fa which capitalizes on its great leaping power.

Tuskmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tuskmon.png

A super-heavyweight class Dinosaur Digimon that grew gigantic horns from both of its shoulders. It holds the alias "Panzer Digimon", from how it will destroy all obstructions in sight as it charges forth due to its reckless personality. It specializes in performing charging tackles, and countless Digimon have been sunk by this attack. The star symbols on its two arms represent the number of Digimon it has defeated (100 represented by one star). Also, it is a fool's errand to attempt to break the horns on Tuskmon's shoulders, as the broken horns will fall out and get replaced with new ones, just like sharks' teeth.

Tuskmon has been shown as a possible evolution of Agumon, being partnered to Takuma Momotsuka.

  • Elemental Punch: Its "Panzer Knuckle" where it unleashes a superdreadnought-class flaming punch.
  • Horn Attack: Its "Horn Driver", where it skewers foes with its glowing horns and "Bayonet Lancer", where it fires energy lances from its horns.
  • Red Baron: It holds the alias "Panzer Digimon".

Tuwarmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tuwarmon_b.jpg
Debuted in: Digimon Fusion
Attacks: Mantis Dance, Smokin' Boogie

A Ninja Digimon which released the heavy "Punpun Armor" note  which was restraining its abilities and transformed to its true form from its temporary disguise - it's Tuwarmon. Disguising itself with the look of a fool to deceive the enemy's eyes, while surreptitiously drawing near its targets and assassinating them, is Tuwarmon's special trait. The Punpun Armor drastically improves Tuwarmon's maneueverablity by being split apart into two boosters, so its movements have wind-like swiftness, too quick to catch the eye, and cannot be compared to their state before its abilities were released. Its two sickle-type "Mantis Arm" weapons are variously sickle-nunchaku tied with an electromagnetic chain, a long polearm unified from the two, or a boomerang for throwing, and it switches between the variations freely as the situation demands.

Tuwarmon is an evolution of Damemon, but is still a Champion level. It is partnered to Yuu (Ewan) Amano.

  • Decoy Getaway: Knows a "Digi-Ninja Art" called the Body Replacement Technique, which switches itself with a similarly-shaped scarecrow.
  • Flash Step: Another Digi-Ninja Arts allows it to do this.
  • Highly-Visible Ninja: Suprisingly averted, despite its gaudy color scheme. It is quite capable of hiding itself if needed.
  • Mutant: It's a Mutant type Digimon.
  • Ninja: A bright yellow ninja.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: One of Tuwarmon's primary techniques. It's also capable of assuming the form of its pre-evolution Damemon.
  • Retcon: In 2020, the Digimon Reference Book made it a Champion. It previously did not have a level due to debuting in the Digimon Fusion continuity.
  • Sinister Scythe: The Mantis Arms are hand-sized sickles.
  • Smoke Out: Smokin' Boogie does this to allow Tuwarmon to perform sneak attacks.

Tyrannomon (Tyranomon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tyrannomon_9.png

A Digimon that resembles an ancient dinosaur that existed in the prehistoric world. It sweeps everything away with its two well-developed arms and its gigantic tail. It is extremely easy to tame due to its intelligence and docile personality. For that reason, it is highly valued by beginner Tamers, and is often raised with care. You could probably say that it is a representative figure of the most basic Digimon.

Tyrannomon is a possible evolution of Agumon, and is partnered to Takuma Momotsuka. Eiji Nagasumi also has three Tyrannomon in his possession.

  • Breath Weapon: Its "Fire Breath" where it spews deep crimson flames that are the same color as its body.
  • Cutting Off the Branches: Interviews with the original Digimon design team suggested that it was Tyrannomon who was designed with being the face of the franchise and Agumon's main evolution. Greymon was designed with the intention of being a super-secret character that only experts could unlock. This is evident in the Digital Monster Ver. 1's box art, which features Tyrannomon. However, they underestimated the ease of this task immensely. It was incredibly easy to achieve a Greymon in the original Digital Monster virtual pet, it was Tyrannomon that was difficult to obtain (since evolving one required raising an Agumon to be not as good as Greymon but not bad enough to get a Devimon). As a result, all adaptations feature Greymon instead. In Digimon Survive, it finally got a bone thrown its way by being one of Agumon's main Champion forms, being unlocked on the Harmonious Route.
  • Face of a Thug: Despite being very obviously based on one of the poster boys of the Predators Are Mean trope, Tyrannomon is known for its docile behaviour.
  • Foe-Tossing Charge: Its "Wild Buster" is a flaming tackle.
  • Morphic Resonance: It's basically a red Agumon with longer claws, green spines and small black/blue stripes. Since it was originally intended to be Agumon's Champion level before Greymon took over, this makes sense.
  • Playing with Fire: Its "Fire Breath" and "Wild Buster" attacks.
  • T. Rexpy: The basis of this digimon seems to be similar to a Tyrannosaurus rex, except that it has larger, more developed arms.
  • Wreathed in Flames: Its "Wild Buster" attack is executed while on fire.

Tyrannomon X (Tyranomon X-Antibody)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tyrannomonx.png

The primeval data engraved into its Digicore has been drawn out, transforming it into a figure whose fierce, dinosaur-like traits are more pronounced. As both its power and speed have increased due to it gaining more muscle mass, it is harder to tame Tyrannomon compared to before. The ridge along its back has grown to become beautifully transparent yet sturdy, just like gemstones, and can now even be used as a weapon.

  • Art Evolution: Thanks to the X-Antibody, Tyrannomon now looks more like an actual T. rex.
  • Breath Weapon: Its "Crimson Breath" is an upgraded version of its original Fire Breath. Spews deep crimson flames that are the same color as its body.
  • Rolling Attack: Its "Crash Rolling" where it curls its entire body up and rush forward at tremendous speed, then slices up any enemy that approaches with the ridge on its back.

Unimon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/unimon.jpg
A composite Digimon that has both the horn of the Unicorn, the legendary holy beast, and the wings of the Pegasus. With the gigantic wings growing from its back, it instantly runs about the world of the Computer Network, stabbing enemies with the sharp horn extending from its brow. A wild(?) Unimon has a rough temperament like a restive horse, but once tamed, it can be handled as if it was the tamer's own limbs.

Notable partners include the Russian Chosen Child Anna, as well as Chitose Imai.
  • Holy Hand Grenade: Its "Holy Shot" where it spits a qigong shot from its mouth.
  • Horn Attack: Its "Corn Thrust" where it gathers energy in its horn and rams it into the foe and "Uni Gallop" where it either kicks with its hind legs or charges and stabs the opponent with its horn.
  • Razor Wind: It "Spread Neigh" shoots blades of wind from its horn or soundwaves from its mouth.
  • Unicorn: What it's named after.
  • Winged Unicorn: A unicorn Digimon with tattered fabric wings.

Veedramon (V-dramon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vdramon.png

A mythical Mythical Dragon Digimon that, even with the vastness of the Digital World, is said to only exist on the Folder Continent. Its existence is extremely precious, and even on the Folder Continent, it is rarely encountered. Also, it is said that only one Digimon Tamer was able to tame Veedramon. With the exception of it becoming known as Veedramon due to the "V"-shaped pattern on its chest, its way of life is a mystery, but for some reason, it is always mistaken for a dog. It is the owner of offensive power that is uncommon even among Champions, but if it is put into a predicament, it exhibits power that surpasses even that of Ultimates.

Veedramon is most well-known for being partnered to the manga iteration of Taichi Yagami, and was nicknamed "Zeromaru" by his tamer.

  • Breath Weapon: It "V-Breath Arrow" where it shoots an arrow of blue-white heat in the shape of a 'V' and "V-Breath Arrow MAX" where it concentrates its energy into a giant V-Breath Arrow.
  • Elemental Punch: Its "Hammer Punch" where it powers up its fist and punches the enemy while jumping forward.
  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Its "Magnum Punch" where it punches an enemy.
  • Expy: It very much resembles Greymon; specifically, it's based on this design seen in Cmon Digimon.
  • Mythology Gag: Being mistaken for a dog was a Running Gag for Veedramon in Digimon V-Tamer 01. Also, the mention of Folder and of one Tamer managing to raise a Veedramon.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: Blue, horned, powerful, and apparently mistaken for a dog. It and its variants (Red, Black, Gold and Master Veedramon, as well as ExVeemon) are also the only members of the species.
  • Razor Wind: Its "Cutter Shoot" where it slices the air, sending blades of air at its opponent.
  • Recurring Element: The resident dragon Digimon partnered to the goggleheaded protagonist, as well as the very first in the franchise.
  • Retcon: It's presumed that its Rookie form was supposed to be Agumon, as Botamon and Koromon (which Agumon typically evolves from) are Zeromaru's Fresh and In-Training levels respectively. In addition, it's made explicitly clear that Taichi and Zero never lost a fight, and since the v-pet he was using before going to the Digital World is implied to be Ver. 1, it's likely that Veedramon was intended as an alternate version of Greymon that came about as a result of its unique Ulforce ability (it even looks a little bit like Greymon, and official sources even stated that Veedramon was based on the Greymon seen in Cmon Digimon). Since Veemon's introduction however, Veedramon has been suggested more as an alternate evolution of Veemon alongside ExVeemon, though references to its original concept still remain (for instance, dubbing V-Breath Arrow as V-Nova Blast, based on the dub name of Greymon's Mega Flame attack).
  • Stronger Than They Look: Veedramon is a Champion level that dwarfs most other Champions in terms of power and skill, and is capable of going toe-to-toe with Ultimate-level Digimon.

Veedramon (Virus) (V=dramon (Black))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vdramon_black.jpg

This blue-black mythical dragon exhibits even greater ferocity!

Vegiemon (Vegimon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vegiemon.png

An Insectivorous Plant Digimon with long, outstretched vines and a wide, open mouth. Although it is a fierce, brutal Digimon that uses the sweet scent it breathes from its mouth to attract small Digimon and its long, tentacle-like vines to pull them in, it is unable to stand against larger Digimon due to its lack of offensive power. As Vegiemon grows, it will start flowering and eventually bear fruit.

Vegiemon has been known to evolve from Floramon, and is partnered to Saki Kimishima.

  • Breath Weapon: Its "Amai Toiki" note  where it breathes out sweet-smelling pollen to confuse enemy.
  • Depending on the Artist: Vegiemon is depicted as being either yellow-green or dark green.
  • Dung Fu: Its "Unchi Nage" where it poops and throws it at the enemy.
  • Green Thumb: Its "Sharp Leaf" throws three leaves at the enemy.
  • Joke Character: The Digital Monster Ver. 2 equivalent to the likes of Numemon and Sukamon. It's typically weak, only attacks with poop or breath attacks, and only has a few moves based on its nature as a plant Digimon. Because of this, it only attempts to attract smaller Digimon to defeat, since it can crush them rather easily; anything above the Rookie level would likely eat it for breakfast.
  • Plant Person: A sapient plant.

Vilemon (Evilmon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vilemon.png
Debut: Digital Monster Ver. S
Attacks: Nightmare Shock

A Small Devil Digimon that abhors losing. For that reason it is a coward that torments the weak with pricks, without getting into direct combat. It seems it is credited as being the source of the Dark-species Digimon that inhabit the Dark Area, but there are still many mysteries.

  • Airborne Mook: They're often portrayed as minions in adaptations, and are generally easy to defeat.
  • Breath Weapon: Its "Nightmare Shock" fires a supersonic wave from its mouth. Alternatively, traps the foe in a nightmare.
  • Non-Mammalian Hair: It has an orange mohawk-like hairdo.
  • Our Demons Are Different: A cowardly imp.
  • Sword Beam: A variation. Its "Scratch Beat" where it scratches the enemy with both arms, or throws darts of energy.

    W-Z

Waspmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/waspmon.jpg

A Cyborg Digimon that defends the mysterious "aerial, covert honey base, Royal Base". The antenna-parts on its head have high reconnaissance ability, so it is always patrolling the vicinity on the lookout for Digimon approaching the base, and will come swooping down on them just for coming close. By using the propellers on its shoulders and the stabilizers on its back, it is able to rapidly move up, down, forward, back, left, right, or in any direction, which allows it to defend against approaching enemies and drive them off with its powerful laser cannon.

  • Beam Spam: Its "Turbo Stinger" where it rapid-fires its wide-aperture laser cannon.
  • Poisonous Person: Its "Bear Buster" note  where it fires a poisonous beam from the laser cannon mounted on its tail. This attack can bring down large Digimon in one hit, but energy has to be charged, so it is less accurate when used on fast Digimon, and is mainly used on the ground.
  • Unusual Weapon Mounting: It has a laser cannon in place of a stinger.

Weedmon (Zassoumon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/weedmon.png

A subspecies of the Vegiemon species whose body is completely green. Unlike Vegiemon, it does not ripen and turn red; in turn, it has obtained the vitality of a weed, allowing it to survive no matter how many times it is cut or beaten.

  • Green Thumb: Its "Dead Weed" where it strikes the enemy with its stretched arms and "Squeeze Vine" where it winds and squeezes the enemy with its ivy.
  • Meaningful Name: Zassou (「雑草」) means weeds.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: It's described as having the vitality of its namesake, being able to survive no matter how badly it gets beaten.
  • Palette Swap: A green one of Vegiemon — the original's already green, but Zassoumon has a deeper green body and replaces Vegiemon's red stripes and leaf details with a lighter shade of green.
  • Plant Person: A sapient plant.
  • Sinister Scythe: Its "Head Harvest" where it slices at the foe's neck with a scythe it has pulled from its mouth.

Wendigomon (Wendimon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wendimon2.jpg
Lopmon underwent a "Dark Evolution" due to anger and hatred, becoming a brutal Beast Man Digimon. It is not completely "evil", and deep within its heart it possesses the gentle side it had while it was Lopmon. However, its "warmth" can be broken by the power of its anger, so that it runs the whole gamut of destruction. Also, it has the ability to manipulate time and space, and is able to warp by passing through other dimensions, as well as to create a special space.

Wendigomon is partnered to Wallace (Willis) and a very unfortunate Shuuji Kayama.
  • Chest Blaster: It has cannons that extend out of the flesh of its chest.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Wendigomon evolves via Dark Evolution, and undergoes this transformation due to succumbing to its anger and hatred. However, it's still capable of feeling warm inside, and even its anime counterpart was more of a Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds.
  • Dimensional Traveler: Capable of casually passing through other dimensions, a feat that most Mega levels have trouble doing.
  • Extendable Arms: Its "Club Arm" where it attacks the enemy with extending arms by swinging both of them like clubs.
  • Gentle Giant: Despite being a Dark Evolution, it still retains Lopmon's gentle nature deep down.
  • Hair-Raising Hare: While it doesn't look like much of a rabbit anymore, it does have long, floppy ears, albeit nowhere near as noticeable as Lopmon's.
  • Hulking Out: The result of Lopmon doing this.
  • I Am a Humanitarian: Despite being based on a wendigo, a creature well-known for this trait, it's usually averted...the keyword being "usually"; as Shuuji could tell you, it can still happen and it will be painful.
  • Inconsistent Dub: Its early dub name was "Endigomon" which dropped the 'w' for some reason.
  • Magikarp Power: As Lopmon, it was a tiny, barely dangerous bunny creature. Wendigomon has the ability to travel through and warp space and time, something even most Mega level Digimon can't do.
  • Mighty Roar: Its "Destroyed Voice" where it howls out a destructive soundwave that can destroy even rocks.
  • Non-Indicative Name: The Wendigo is the name of a mythical cannibalistic monster that roams the forest hunting for humans to devour, according to Native American mythology. A stretchy-armed Space Master, it ain't. The wendigo also resembles a deer, while Wendigomon is a rabbit-like creature with Spikes of Villainy, and Wendigomon is also considerably more buff than your typical wendigo.
  • Reality Warper: Is capable of manipulating time and space as a Champion level, and is also capable of creating its own pocket dimensions.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Has red eyes and is very dangerous when angry.
  • Space Master: Able to manipulate spacetime, travel between dimensions and create a special space.

WezenGammamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wezungammamon.png
Debut: Vital Bracelet Digivice -V-
Attacks: Sedna, Albion

The Adult of Gammamon that has taken on a quadrupedal appearance, it now has an imposing attitude and a generous heart. It is equipped with firearms on various parts of its body; the two horns on its calvaria have turned into long-range cannons, the horn on its snout has turned into a anti-aircraft gun, and the tips of its four feet have turned into small autocannons, and it is capable of firing them. The normal pace of its actions is slow.

WezenGammamon is an evolution of Gammamon and is partnered to Hiro Amanokawa.

  • Anti-Air: The horn on its snout is an anti-aircraft gun.
  • Armed Legs: Its feet are autocannons.
  • Charged Attack: Its Sedna attack has to be charged by pulling in energy from the earth with its tail.
  • Color Motif: WezenGammamon represents green in the Gammamon evolutions' RGB motif.
  • More Dakka: Its horns and legs are guns of different types.
  • Stellar Name: WezenGammamon is named after a yellow-white star in Canis Major, yellow-white stars being the closest to green that a star can be. It also has attacks named after Sedna and Albion.

Witchmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/witchmon.png

A Digimon which has the appearance of a witch, it came along from "Witchelny", the Digital World of another dimension, in pursuit of its rival, Wizarmon. In its native Witchelny it mastered the sorcery (high-level programming language) of wind and water, and in order to gain an advantage on Wizarmon, who aims to become a great wizard, it followed and diligently trains in this Digital World. It's a little cruel, it has great pride, and it despises customs and rules.

  • Blow You Away: Its "Balaluna Gale" Attacks with a sharp wind carrying magical power.
  • Cheshire Cat Grin: Much of its official artwork has her sporting one of these.
  • Cute Witch: Can be considered to be either this or Hot Witch depending on your point of view.
  • Making a Splash: Its "Aquary Pressure" where it attacks with water of such extremely high pressure that it is enough to penetrate steel.
  • Our Witches Are Different: A witch from cyberspace.
  • Poisonous Person: It has an ability called Poison Storm.
  • Pride: It is very pround and despises customs and rules.
  • The Rival: It sees Wizardmon as this.

Wizardmon (Wizarmon)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wizardmon.png

An advanced Demon Man Digimon that came from the Digital World of another dimension. In its native Digital World (Witchelny) it mastered the sorcery (high-level programming language) of fire and earth, and although it aimed to become a great wizard, it appeared in the Digimon World in order to train. Although it has a personality that likes playing a few practical jokes, because it has another, shyer side, it tries to never show its uncovered face.

Wizarmon appears as a major ally in Digimon Adventure, being a companion for Tailmon until his dying breath. As of the Digimon Tamers anniversary event for the Vital Bracelet, it is also confirmed to be the true Champion level of Impmon. Notable users of Wizarmon include Yu Nogi.

  • Blow You Away: Despite Witchmon being the one who's mastered wind magic, Wizarmon has a wind attack in the form of "Blink Breeze", which creates a blast of wind from its staff.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: A Demon Man Digimon that happens to be nice, and is at worst a prankster.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: On of the elements of magic it knows. None of its moves use this.
  • Glasgow Grin: Its mouth is stitched.
  • I Know What You Fear: Its "Terror Illusion" Exploits the enemy's fears.
  • Pintsized Powerhouse: Is much smaller than most other Champion Digimon, but it's just as strong.
  • Playing with Fire: One of the elements of magic it knows. Like it's earth magic, this doesn't carry over at the moment.
  • The Prankster: Likes to play practical jokes.
  • Robe and Wizard Hat: His appearance.
  • Shock and Awe: Contrary to it's profile, Wizarmon usually fights with electricity, rather than fire or earth. Its attacks include "Thunder Cloud" where it summons a thunder cloud that unleashes a lightning strike, "Electro Squall" where it fires a lightning strike from its staff, and "Thunder Ball" where it throws an electric ball from its hand.
  • Shrinking Violet: It's shy enough that it doesn't want anyone to see its face uncovered.
  • Yellow Lightning, Blue Lightning: Its "Magic Game" attack. The initial effect of this attack would seem to be that Wizarmon releases blue lightning from its staff; however, the effect of this attack seems to vary, or Wizarmon throws cards at the opponent.

Wizardmon X (Wizarmon (X-Antibody))

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wizarmonx.jpg
It is more strongly influenced by the Eneruge Clan from Witchelny, and the magical power within it has also increased due to X-evolving. Also, as an additional result of wandering across several worlds and training, it acquired lightning sorcery powerful enough to cause things to disintegrate at the quantum level using both of its hands.
  • Shock and Awe: Its "Bolt Break" which is lightning sorcery powerful enough to cause things to disintegrate at the quantum level using both of its hands.

Woodmon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/woodmon.png

A Plant Digimon with the appearance of large, withered tree. It usually passes itself off as an ordinary tree, and survives by sucking up energy when it seizes Digimon that happen to pass close by. In addition, it is able to move about using its root-like feet. Due to its frenzied personality, it never stops attacking once it is angered. Although its defense is high because it has a hard trunk, it is vulnerable to fire, and is very poor against Flame-species Digimon like Meramon and Birdramon, so it regards them as enemies.

  • Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Its "Woody Smash" where it smashes the opponent with its arms.
  • Green Thumb: Its "Leaf Slider" where it attacks by spitting sharp leaves from its mouth.
  • Life Drain: Its "Branch Drain" where it stretches out its branches to pierce the enemy and drain its energy, or drains energy by inhaling.
  • Logical Weakness: It is weak to fire because it's a tree.
  • Plant Person: A walking tree stump.
  • Poisonous Person: Its "Drain Buster" where it uses poisonous arms to hit the enemy.
  • When Trees Attack: A living, albeit withered tree. It can disguise itself as a regular old tree to sneak up on opponents.

Xiquemon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/573px_xiquemon_new_century.jpg
Debut: Digimon New Century
Attacks: Frozen Claw, Waterfall Flash, Fish Stream Cannon

An exotic Bird Digimon that travels freely in the air and water. Its Digicore contains the data of fish, and it can stay in a flying position and dive directly into the water, hunting with a soaring swimming posture. The reason why Xiquemon wears goggles on its head is also to protect its vision when swimming. As a migratory bird, Xiquemon usually perches in cold lakes or rivers, and once the water temperature rises, it will embark on a journey to find a new habitat in the Digital World. It is said that seeing Xiquemon flying around in search of a nest is an auspicious sign, so Xiquemon is also considered to be a good luck Digimon and is loved by other Digimon. Since the amount of food it eats at a time is small, Xiquemon also has the skill to keep leftover food cold.

  • An Ice Person: Its Frozen Claw has it strike at its enemies with icy talons. It also keeps its leftover food cold by unknown means.
  • Flying Seafood Special: Inverted. It's a bird that can swim as easily as it flies.
  • Magpies as Portents: It's named after the magpie and is considered a sign of good luck by other Digimon.

  • Mix-and-Match Critters: It's a bird-fish hybrid.
  • Stylish Protection Gear: It wears a pair of golden swim goggles with tassels on both sides

Yakiimon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yakiimon_b.jpg

A plant Digimon in the shape of a roasted sweet potato. It undergoes extensive special training alone in order to achieve its goal of becoming a champion, improving its punching strength and footwork to the point that they cause its body to become piping hot. However, Yakiimon hasn't the slightest clue what kind of champion it wants to become, and simply continues to work hard.

  • Anthropomorphic Food: A baked potato with limbs.
  • Boxing Battler: Which might explain those boxing gloves it's wearing.
  • Missing Steps Plan: It plans to become a champion, but has no idea what it's going to be a champion of. It's just going to work at training every day until, somehow, it will become one.
  • Red Boxing Gloves: It wears them on each hand.
  • Retcon: In 2020, the Digimon Reference Book made it a Champion. It previously did not have a level due to debuting in the Digimon Fusion continuity.

Yanmamon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yanmamon.png

An Insect Digimon that took in the data of a jumbo dragonfly. Its body is covered in a tough carapace, which is as hard as Greymon's head, and is extremely light, allowing it to fly about at high speed.

  • "Blind Idiot" Translation: Its Reference Book profile names it as "Yammamon", despite being based on the Japanese word for a large Dragonfly (example: Yanma from Pokémon).
  • Dreadful Dragonfly: It's a dragonfly the size of grown human, and an aggressive predator.
  • Mon Bites Mon: Its "Sonic Bite" where it uses its sharp jaws to bite swiftly.

Yo!Yo!Mon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yoxtuyoxtumon_3.jpg

A Puppet Digimon whose whole body is composed of plastic yo-yos. Although it is said to have been born from image data showcasing skillful techniques in yo-yo tournaments, it has a very quarrelsome personality, and always stares into its surroundings with a sharp look. It has a sharp-bladed yo-yo in its right hand is used for mincing things, and a bladeless yo-yo in its left hand used for beating things to a pulp, and uses them for different purposes depending on the battle situation.

  • Animate Inanimate Object: A yo-yo with a mind of its own.
  • "Blind Idiot" Translation: Its official Reference Book name is Yoxtu!Yoxtu!mon, which needlessly adds a bunch of "xtu's" to stand in place of sokuons.
  • Killer Yoyo: It uses its arms as these. The right one has spikes and the left one is used as a bludgeon.
  • Retcon: Its V-Jump appearance back in 2007 listed it as an Ultimate level. 14 years later, it has been retooled into a Champion.
  • Serrated Blade of Pain: Its right yo-yo is fitted with sharp blades.

Youkoumon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/youkomon.jpg
