    Hajime Hinata

Hajime Hinata

Ultimate Reformed Delinquent (originally reserve course student)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hajime_hinata_illustration.png

One of the protagonists of DigiXDangan. A talentless student from the reserve course, Hajime begins meeting members of the main course by chance. After saving Natsumi Kuzuryu's life by beating the hell out of Sato, he's drafted into the main course as the Ultimate Reformed Delinquent. His Digimon partner is Agumon and his Digivice is colored orange.

  • Composite Character: He has some similarities to Marcus Damon (Daimon Masaru), mainly having an Agumon for a partner who calls them Boss and both being delinquents.
  • Love at First Sight: With Chiaki when they bump into each other in Chapter 2.
  • Official Couple: He and Ibuki begin dating (and sharing a bed to make out, that's it) in Chapter 11. Mikan and Akane join the harem in Chapter 13, with Sonia joining in Chapter 15. Natsumi practically confesses to him in Chapter 20 with Chiaki confessing and having sex with him in Chapter 23.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: He has a penchant for delivering these.
    • First is against Mahiru, calling her out about how she enables her friends' terrible treatment of others.
    • He delivers another one to Saionji in Chapter 23, calling her out on her attitude and isolating her from others, telling her that just because she had a rough life didn't mean she needs to treat others horribly (though he relents somewhat upon learning she doesn't have a Digivice, and was thus all alone unlike his friends and girlfriend).
  • Tricked-Out Gloves: Gets some from Izayoi in Chapter 17, called the Contradiction Gloves they're strong and durable enough to block Peko's sword swings.

    Chiaki Nanami

Chiaki Nanami

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chiaki_nanami_illustration.jpg

    Akane Owari

Akane Owari

Ultimate Gymnast

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/akane_owari_illustration.png

  • Big Eater: She loves food and can pick away a lot of it. This is justified by gymnastics being a physically demanding sport that requires its athletes to eat quite a bit to maintain their form, as well as Akane growing up in poverty and not having regular access to food for the longest time.
  • Official Couple: Gets together with Hajime in Chapter 13, along with Miken.

Nekomaru Nidai

Ultimate Team Manager

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nekomaru_nidai_illustration.png

    Mahiru Koizumi

Mahiru Koizumi

Ultimate Photographer

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mahiru_koizumi_illustration.png

  • Official Couple: Gets together with Hajime in Chapter 16, becoming his fifth girlfriend.

    Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu

Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu

Ultimate Yakuza

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fuyuhiko_kuzuryu_illustration.png

The baby-faced successor to the infamous Kuzuryu family, the largest criminal enterprise in Japan. Fuyuhiko's small stature and youthful looks hide a powerful temper and a large chip on his shoulder, and he has no interest in making friends with his classmates. His Digivice is colored light blue and his partner is Gabumon.

  • Actually Pretty Funny: When Haijime changes his chat ID to "Mini Majima", Fuyuhiko is actually okay with it.
  • Rapid-Fire "No!": His response in text form when learning that Gundham has joined the Squad.
  • Ship Tease: Something is going on between him and Peko. When he finds out about Hajime's harem in Chapter 23, he isn't bothered by it since Peko isn't part of it.

    Mikan Tsumiki

Mikan Tsumiki

Ultimate Nurse

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mikan_tsumiki_illustration.png

A royal princess from the small European country of Novoselic who has come to Hope's Peak Academy as an exchange student. Sonia has all the beauty and grace that her title implies. However, she can be a bit naive and overly trusting, and her grasp of the native language is a bit...tenuous. Her partner is Coronamon and her Digivice is colored dark orange. She becomes Hajime's fourth girlfriend.

  • Occidental Otaku: She's from Europe and a big fan of Japanese TV dramas and anime. This allows her to quickly bond with Hajime.
  • Official Couple: She confesses to Hajime in Chapter 15 and becomes his fourth girlfriend.

    Peko Pekoyama

Peko Pekoyama

Ultimate Swordswoman

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/peko_pekoyama_illustration.png

A master swordswoman and kendo champion whose skill at swordplay surpasses even the strongest adult fighters. A stern yet polite woman, Peko carries herself with an intimidating aura. She was an orphan taken in by the Kuzuryu clan and serves Fuyuhiko Kuzuryu as a bodyguard to repay their generosity. Her Digivice is golden in color and her partner is Zubamon.

  • Alliterative Name: Peko Pekoyama.
  • Ship Tease: Something is going on between her and Fuyuhiko.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: While not Fuyuhiko's girlfriend (yet), Peko is fiercely protective of him. When Haijime changes Fuyuhiko's chat ID to "Mini Majima", she chases down Haijime in response, fully intending to harm him with her sword.

However, she left the band due to creative differences and is now pursuing a solo career. Despite her punk-ish appearance, Ibuki is a very friendly and energetic person whose antics sometimes border the limits of comprehensibility. Her Digimon partner is Shoutmon and her Digivice is colored red. She becomes Hajime's first girlfriend.

  • Harem Seeker: By proxy, as she encourages Miken to confess to Hajime and proclaims "two conquests in one day" after Akane joins soon after.
  • Official Couple: She's the first girl to get together with Hajime.
  • Third-Person Person: Instead of saying "I" or "me", she says "Ibuki".

  • Harem Seeker: In a sense.
  • Post-Kiss Catatonia: After Chisa kisses him and invites him to stay the night at her home, Makoto was so out of it he didn't fully comprehend the weight of the offer at first.
  • Spanner in the Works: His luck causes his and Seiko's bags to switch and she takes his Digivice by mistake. His attempts to return Seiko's bag bring him to Hope's Peak, where his luck cancels out Nagito Komaeda's luck, derailing the latter's plans.

    Kyouko Kirigiri

Kyouko Kirigiri

Ultimate Detective

Kyouko is the heir to a long line of detectives and the daughter of Hope's Peak Academy's headmaster, Jin Kirigiri. Her Digivice is yellow and her partner is Renamon. She becomes Makoto's first girlfriend.

  • Clingy Jealous Girl: When she senses Chisa and Makoto spending the night together, she feels something irreplaceably precious was stolen from her.
  • Experienced Protagonist: Unlike everyone else with a partner Digimon, Kyouko and Renamon have battled against other Digimon before, with the two dealing with a Lynxmon at least three times.
  • Not So Above It All: Despite being the dignified detective daughter of Hope's Peak Academy's headmaster, she isn't above tickle-torturing Makoto for longer than she needs to, and actually enjoys her 'date' with him in Chapter 24 before their investigation begins. And part of the reason she even agrees with Makoto's harme idea is to stick it to her father.
  • Official Couple: After a little hesitence on her part, she accepts Makoto's love of her and the other girls, becoming his first girlfreind while spending the night togehter.

  • Animal Lover: She has a soft spot for animals, having adopted a stray dog, cat, and a hamster at different points... only for Junko to kill them in horrible ways.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Despite her loyalty to her abusive sister, Mukuro never revealed Loogamon's existence to her, rightfully fearing that she would kill him.

  • The Chain of Harm: Everyone in her family but her father was jealous of her talent and abused and tried to murder her, which caused her to also treat others badly.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Hiyoko grew up in a very brutal world where she faced assassination attempts, a family that, besides her father, abused and resented her for her talent and was taken away from her father by her grandmother. Although it doesn't excuse her behavior it's not exactly hard to see why Hiyoko ended up so bitter and unhappy when her life was full of abuse and fighting for her life. The fact she endured all this alone without a Digimon partner doesn't help.

The lead singer of an incredibly popular idol group. She and Makoto were classmates; he caught her eye one day when he freed a crane that was stuck in the school pool, but they'd never spoken. This still left an impression on her, resulting in her sending occasional merchandise of her idol group (or rather her merch) to him. Her partner is Terriermon.

  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Even though she and Makoto haven't been reunited yet, she suddenly got really angry due to feeling that "someone was encroaching on what was rightfully hers", not knowing that Makoto was growing closer to another girl (Seiko), resulting in her punching out a stalker in an uncharacteristic display of aggression. And then when she senses Chisa and Makoto spending the night together, she punches a hole into a wall.

  • Age-Gap Romance: She quickly develops feelings for Makoto (who is still a middle schooler at this point) and after he saves her from Groundramon, she invites him to her home and... moves up a few bases with him. It's downplayed though as the gap between them is only about 5 years (Chisa is around 19 years old while Makoto is at least 15).
  • Glad-to-Be-Alive Sex: Due to the rush from nearly dying at Groundramon's claws, she invites Makoto to her home and... takes his innocence.

A Reserve Course student and Mahiru's friend.

  • Spared by the Adaptation: In canon, after successfully killing Natsumi, Sato is killed by Fuyuhiko, Natsumi's older brother. Here, as Hajime arrives in time to stop her, Sato survives (but is beaten to an inch of her life).
  • Undying Loyalty: To Mahiru, to the point she was even willing to murder Natsumi to protect her.
  • Yandere: A platonic example for Mahiru. She tried to kill Natsumi to protect her. It's even implied that Sato was the one who tore up some photos Mahiru took and blamed it on Natsumi.
