Diamond Dazzle Tiara
"At least let me guilt trip you first!"
Dazzle's owner and daughter of Filthy Rich. She's a pink filly who can often be found wearing a shiny tiara. Her family's wealth allows her to find plenty of ways to entertain herself, but she tends to have a massive ego that her pet cat likes to keep in check.
- Alliterative Name: When using her full name.
- Anti-Hero: Despite being the protagonist, Diamond's not the nicest filly around. Not so much a villain, though.
- Attention Whore: Everything is all about her.
- A Princess Am I: Diamond prefers 'Princess' to 'Mommy' when talking about her relationship with Dazzle.
- Big Eater: Granted, her pet's a bigger eater, but she's no slouch herself.
- Bratty Half-Pint: How true it is.
- Break the Haughty: Whenever she gets put in her place by Dazzle or someone older than her. Noteworthy example takes place at the end of the Adventure arc.
- Cool Crown: Her signature tiara.
- Cuteness Proximity: She's shown a couple signs of this, particularly with cute kitties.
- Deadpan Snarker: She's not afraid to toss some sarcasm around.
- Exactly What It Says on the Tin: Her name is her cutie mark. Until the Adventure arc ends.
- Handshake Substitute: With Silver Spoon. Same one from the show.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: It's not hard to make Diamond mad.
- Hidden Depths: There's certainly more to her than "bully and tease" in this series.
- Idiot Hair: When she was younger, she sported this look.
- I Just Want to Be Special: Dreams of becoming an alicorn. Tries to trick Twilight into making her one at one point.
- It's All About Me: You'd be hard-pressed to find someone more self-centered than Diamond.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: After she sacrifices her cutie mark, her tiara, and her voice to save Dazzle, there's gotta be a little gold in there somewhere.
- Lovable Alpha Bitch: If nothing else, she does love her family.
- Odd Friendship: You wouldn't expect Diamond Tiara to put up with a cat like Dazzle, much less think of him as one of her best friends.
- Pink Means Feminine: Diamond's coat is pink. She's feminine.
- Rich Bitch: Not as much as her character in the show, but there are definitely signs of it.
- Small Name, Big Ego: In her mind, everyone knows who she is.
- Smug Smiler: Pretty much her default smile.
- Smug Snake: Smug enough to make a real snake jealous.
- Spoiled Brat: As self-centered as they come. Almost comically so.
- Talking Animal: A talking pony. They're everywhere.
Dazzle Diamond Tiara
"MROW!"
Diamond Tiara's 'perfect little kitty'. He's a black cat who was raised in a shelter full of dogs and come to re-learn how to be a cat again. He loves his owner tremendously, but isn't afraid to put her in her place when she asks for it. He's got a borderline addiction to sweets and a few psychological problems that require regular therapy sessions.
- Alliterative Name: Same as his owner.
- Badass Adorable: When he takes on the Imp to get Diamond's most cherished possessions back.
- Berserk Button: Never call him a 'cat'. Try not to call him 'unlucky' either. You're gonna end up dead.
- Big Eater: If it's yummy, he'll eat it, no matter how full he is.
- Casanova Wannabe: On a mission to find himself a girlfriend.
- Cat Stereotype: He's a fully black cat. Certainly companionable. Sticks to his owner like glue. His former name was 'Unlucky' before he was adopted by Diamond's family.
- Cats Are Mean: Mostly averted. He can certainly be mischievous.
- Cats Are Snarkers: Dazzle's the silent variant.
- Cowardly Lion: Particularly in the Adventure arc.
- Cute and Psycho: Hopefully his therapist can help him with this.
- Cute Kitten: And he's learned to weaponize it.
- Deuteragonist: He's the 'and Dazzle' part of the title.
- Formerly Fit: Has been putting on weight since the series began.
- I Just Want to Be Normal: Implied that he just wants to be a normal cat because Diamond wants him to be.
- Killer Rabbit: Call him a 'cat' or 'bad luck' and see what happens.
- Meaningful Name: His name is the same as his owner's, only switched around. Guess who named him?
- His name means 'to blind temporarily with a bright light'. He wears a collar that lights up when he's happy and sometimes uses his cuteness to put people in a trance and get their candy.
- Name From Another Species: Named 'Dazzle' and 'Unlucky' by ponies. He definitely prefers the former.
- Nurture over Nature: Dazzle was raised by dogs and acted like one. Diamond taught him to be more cat-like, but his dogginess tends to shine through at times.
- Overly-Long Tongue: The length of Dazzle's tongue can vary. It occasionally falls into this trope.
- Prehensile Tail: He tends to prefer holding things with his tail.
- Ridiculously Cute Critter: Whenever he's trying to trick someone out of their sweets.
- Silent Snarker: Being Diamond Tiara's pet, the snark is a given. Being a cat keeps him silent about it.
- The Gadfly: He's this to Diamond and possibly Owlowiscious. Tame around most others.
- The Jinx: Implied on more than one occasion.
- Weaksauce Weakness: Like most cats, he can be subdued with a few scratches behind the ear.
- Wholesome Crossdresser: When Dazzle's told to 'dress up', expect him to take it literally.
