    Part 1 - Incident at Absalom Station 

Starfinder Society

Duravor Kreel

LN male dwarf
The Dwarf miner who first greets the player characters when they arrive at Bay 94.

  • Plot-Triggering Death: He is killed in the crossfire of the warring gangs shootout just as the players arrive. The first part of the adventure is the investigation into his death.

Chiskisk

N host shirren
The Shirren head of the local Starfinder Society Chapter on Absalom.

  • Know When to Fold 'Em: If the party actually finds the full answer, Chiskisk says that the Starfinders aren't in any condition for a direct fight with that, and to leave it to station security. Don't worry, you soon get the chance to show them up indirectly
  • Mission Control: Can serve as such, if the players have any questions, they are able to call them for advice.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: The shirren have three genders: male, female, and host. Chiskisk is the later and goes by "they/them" pronouns.

Absalom Criminal Element

Level 21 Crew

One of the rival gangs involved in the Mob War on Absalom Station.
  • Friend or Foe?: They might end up shooting the party in the crossfire.
  • Neighbourhood-Friendly Gangsters: They might be involved in numerous illicit activities, but the Level 21 Crew has a reputation of protecting the people who live in their territory.

Downside Kings

One of the rival gangs involved in the Mob War on Absalom Station.
  • Covert Group with Mundane Front: The Downside Kings run a trendy nightclub and use it as their headquarters. Most of the patrons the players talk to either don't know or pretend not to know they're enjoying drinks in a criminal front.
  • Starter Villain: They're entirely hostile. Even if you ended up siding with them by accident in the first battle, working with them later is almost impossible.

Jabaxa

LE male ysoki envoy
The Ysoki leader of Level 21 Crew.
  • Affably Evil: As far as he's concerned, he has no beef with the party, and plans a friendly meeting which he intends to stay friendly.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Jabaxa readily agrees to meet with the players and has no beef with them, even if they took out some of his men in the party's initial shoot-out.

Mama Fats

The Halfling owner proprietor of Mama Fats' Bodega, a local hangout for Level 21 Crew.

Ferani Nadaz

CE female human mechanic
The brutal leader of the Downside Kings.

Ferani's Vesk Bodyguard and enforcer.
  • Determinator: You'd have to be this to bash in a locked hatch just to catch one guy with your bare hands! Fitting that he is the first enemy the PC's encounter in this campaign who willingly fights to the death.
  • The Dragon: To Ferani.

Corporate Entities

Astral Extractions

A corporate mining conglomerate involved in a salvage claim dispute with Hardscrabble over the Drift Rock.

Hardscrabble Collective

An independent mining guild involved in a salvage claim dispute with Astral Extractions over the Drift Rock.
  • Weird Trade Union: The numerous vessels and crews that make up the Collective banded together to improve their bargaining power with larger organizations. Apart from that, they have little that resembles a traditional union.

Gevalarsk Nor

LE male elebrian necrovite
The Eoxian ambassador to Absalom Station.
  • Affably Evil: Speaks of the benefits of diplomacy, and can potentially remain a valuable resource for the party.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: He thinks the current leadership of the Corpse Fleet is a bunch of General Rippers more likely to destroy Eox itself in the long run, and if the players have made a good impression on him he helps with lifting the Stellar Degenerator off the Fleet.
  • Villain of Another Story: He's up to something shady, but it's barely touched on. And Word of God has confirmed that it never will be.
  • Zombie Advocate: Pun aside, he's ready to speak out against anti-undead sentiment in the party. Eox and its citizens are part of Pact Worlds society now.

Hebiza Eskolar

LE female elebrian bone trooper technomancer
An associate of Gevalarsk Nor , and also the "secret package" he instructs the players to get for him from the Acreon.

Clara-247

CN female android operative
An Android assassin hired by Astral Extractions to terminate the players for their meddling.

Moriko Nash

NE female human driftdead
The long-dead former captain of the Sunrise Maiden.

  • Apocalyptic Log: You find her final message on her corpse, explaining what happened and bequeathing her ship to you.
  • Came Back Wrong: Due to the violent nature of her death while stuck in the Drift, she was become a wraith-like Driftdead.
  • Driven to Suicide: To avoid a worse death by a hostile alien.
  • Posthumous Character: She's been dead for at least 80 years by the time the player characters discover her.

  • Beleaguered Bureaucrat: When encountered she's busy trying to put out a PR fire caused by Ailabien's conclusion on formians. She's trying to be helpful but is dividing her attention.

Ailabiens 21:2

N male contemplative
A professor currently on academic suspension due to an inflammatory speech.

  • Final Solution: The subject of his aforementioned speech. He posited that the lashunta could have won the conflict with the formians if they hadn't been burdened by sentimentality and were willing to go all the way. Needless to say, the speech didn't win him many friends.
  • Insufferable Genius: He's very smart, but very grating.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Technically nothing he said in his speech was incorrect, just morally and ethically abominable. He'll admit that perhaps it wasn't the best subject, but he refuses to budge on the topic of whether he was wrong.
  • Lack of Empathy: He is unable, and unwilling, to consider what is socially acceptable in any situation, considering it as lacking objectivity.

Dr. Solstrani

A professor kidnapped by the Devourer cultists to help the decipher the Temple of the Twelve.

  • Damsel in Distress: By the time the party reaches the University, Dr. Solstarni has already been kidnapped by another group.
  • Overly Long Name: Her full name is Dr. Olmehya Solstarni Wehir of House Raimar, Echo of Inshirsi’s Dream.

Cult of the Devourer

Ralkawi

CE female korasha lashunta
A cultist infected by a ksarik and left to die by her compatriots.

  • Chest Burster: If the players do nothing to save her, the ksarik seedlings burrow out of her chest and kill her.
  • Heel–Face Turn: If the players save her she can aid them and may even forsake the Devourer entirely.
  • Left for Dead: By the other cultists once the ksarik infection set in.

Salask

CE female shirren
A sniper who waits at the Stargazer to ambush the players.

  • Axe-Crazy: Before becoming a cultist she would deliberately feed Stewards bad intel to lure them into certain death situations for her to watch.
  • Cold Sniper: She likes to use a sniper rifle and lacks anything approaching civility.
  • Face–Heel Turn: She used to be a Steward.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: She tries to flee if her health gets too low and surrenders if that's impossible.
  • Serial Killer: Likes to pretend to be a guide so she can lead others into the maws of waiting predators and watch what happens.

Avissa

CE female korasha lashunta soldier
The explosives expert of the cult.

  • Covered with Scars: Her illustration shows a lot of scars on her face, neck, and what can be seen of her chest.
  • Gatling Good: Her primary weapon is a gatling gun.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: If engaged in melee, she fights with a cestus.
  • Taking You with Me: When she gets too low on health she detonates her explosives, aiming to kill the players as well.

Tahomen

CE male korasha lashunta mystic
The cult leader on Castrovel.

  • Failed Attempt at Drama: When the players confront him, he concludes his speech by pressing the detonator to the explosives throughout the temple. Depending on the players' actions, this results in either a faint boom or nothing at all. Either way, far from the temple collapsing detonation he hoped for.
  • Fangs Are Evil: One of his spells gives him a mouth full of fangs to maul his enemies with and all his illustrations have him with them.

Halkueem Zan

Male human
An explorer who discovered and documented the temple of the Twelve and its surrounding areas and locations. Though he was hilariously inaccurate in his presumptions about the ancient elven culture, his notes prove useful for navigation to the lost structure.

The owner and cook of the Five Arches café.

  • Lethal Chef: She likes to invent new dishes and can't taste herself, a dangerous combination.

  • Beleaguered Bureaucrat: The only regular employee, and gets few breaks, as Ghouls don't need them.
  • Chekhov's Gun: She works for Ambassador Nor, so how helpful she is depends on how your interactions with him turned out.

  • Dirty Coward: They planned to cow unarmed "traitors," not get in a life-or-death fight, and as such will flee or surrender if any of them get too low on health.
  • Fantastic Racism: They aren't too fond of the living and think the Corpse Fleet has the right idea, though they aren't to the point of joining the Corpse Fleet themselves.
