Maguro Ando

Super High-School Level Lifeguard

"I noticed you looked a little pissed off when I was talking about the time I punched a shark?"

Though he was expected to take over his family's famous sushi restaurant, Maguro's clumsiness got him quickly shuffled out of the kitchen. Not that he minded - it meant all the more time to focus on his own passions, swimming and surfing. Maguro volunteered at swim clubs as a lifeguard, but it wasn't until a vacation to Australia that he caught the attention of Hope's Peak by saving a child from a great white shark...with his fists. Since then, he's built up a reputation for heroism by plunging into a number of seemingly hopeless situations, and has even resuscitated a minor celebrity.

  • Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance: His hair and clothes are pointed in a way that make them resemble shark fins.
  • Big Eater: Pre-game, he texts Morishige about working out together and this exchange occurs.
FOR MY TRAINING REGIMEN YOU NEED TO BRING AT LEAST 3 BENTO BOXES FOR LUNCH
I HAVE 5. MY BROTHER MAKES THEM ALL FOR ME
TOMORROW YOU CAN HAVE 2 OF THEM
    NVM
    YOU CAN HAVE 1
  • Punny Name: His first name is written with the character for 'tuna'.
  • Remember When You Blew Up a Sun?: "Aren't you the guy who punched a shark to save a kid that one time?"
  • You Gotta Have Blue Hair

Hiroto Hoshi

Super High-School Level Goalie

"Do you think my style is more fresh, edgy, or sweet? I’m thinking one of the first two, but I kinda want someone else’s opinion."

Katsumi Matsumoto

Super High-School Level Breakdancer

"Oi, everything about you is already pissing me off."

Blatantly ‘defying gravity’ and whirling up a storm - that is what Katsumi is known for. He’s built up a noteworthy reputation amongst the clubbing, nightlife and dancing communities in Japan, all because of his skill as a breakdancer. Despite being recently interviewed, barely a single bit about his life story has been mentioned. He disappeared from the dancing scene for close to two years at one point, then just as suddenly reappeared and won a national contest.

Wakaki Mishina

Super High-School Level Fashion Designer

Jiro Ōshiro

Super High-School Level Physicist

For three years, this extraordinary young doctor has run a secret clinic in Shinjuku's red light district, healing the needy for no cost at all. He's famed among his patients for flawlessly diagnosing and treating any ailment. His clinic was recently forced to close, but Jiro has vowed to return to Kabukichō and continue dispensing aid pro bono publico as soon as he's graduated from Hope's Peak.

  • Back-Alley Doctor: While he does have a fair amount of medical know-how and takes good care of his patients, he still works in a seedy area and generally tries to avoid the public eye.
  • Mismatched Eyes

Tadashi Takuyō

Super High-School Level Choreographer

"Anyway, enough about me being famous."

The 'bad boy' of Base!Pop, a group that quickly captured hearts across Japan after winning a national Glee Club competition; Tadashi is the group's best dancer and choreographs all of their routines. When not on-stage, he has a much sweeter and innocent personality, but there's also an unexpectedly morbid side to him.

Dorian Tolbrynd

Super High-School Level Roguelike Pro

"Right… Game on…"

  • Deadpan Snarker
  • The Gadfly: He sure seems to enjoy getting on Kimiko's nerves.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: At least compared to the other SHSLs. He himself admits that they probably haven't heard of him, or most likely don't know what a roguelike is, but he acts like a bigshot all the same.

Reika Akao

Super High-School Level Sukeban

"If you think you’re gonna get anything other than shoe-shaped bruises by letting people trample you in this life, get used to going empty-handed."

Japan's ultimate bad girl, Reika has managed to escape criminal charges time and time again despite doing little to cover up the fact that she's a gang leader. To the chagrin of police, she's gained quite a fan following, and fashion magazines have begun to capitalize off selling her style to the masses.

Atsuko Fujimoto

Super High-School Level Student Council President

"We are guaranteed success, after all."

short description here

  • Rapunzel Hair: That is one huge ponytail she's got.
  • Teen Genius: Various magazines have dubbed her “The Smartest Girl of Her Age”.

Aisha Hino

Super High-School Level Demolitions Expert

"It’s not like getting mad’ll help. Might as well just mingle until it all blows over."

The daughter of a nurse, Aisha caught the attention of Hope's Peak while in junior high, when she stopped a fellow student who had been planting a series of homemade bombs. Though she at one point considered training to join a bomb-disposal squad, she ended up becoming a consultant for building demolition instead. Aisha is a very laid-back sort of girl, always trying to avoid unnecessary stress.

  • And Some Other Stuff: When Eri asks her if she could potentially whip up something to blast a hole through the wall, Aisha starts to say it depends on what household cleaners she could get her hands on, then catches herself and tells Eri to forget she said anything.
  • Berserk Button: People who endanger others for selfish reasons.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Downplayed. She tends to give off this vibe, but she is a genuinely hard worker; she just knows her limits and doesn't freak out over things not being perfect because it'll only lead to more mistakes.
  • Bubblegum Popping: A habit of hers, which contributes to the misconception that she doesn't take things seriously. She actually does it to take her mind off stressful situations (and has been doing it long enough that she doesn't cause a huge mess with the bubbles unless something shocks her).
  • Cuteness Proximity: Very sensitive to it, though she tries to keep it under control. Just the sight of pandas on Kibin's pants is enough to send her into a fit of Cuteness Overload.
  • Disappeared Dad: He was struck and killed by a drunk driver when Aisha was young, and she barely remembers him as a result.
  • Gamer Chick: Videogames are listed as one of her likes. When the cast first wakes up from being knocked out by Monokuma, she thinks to herself that she hasn't had such a headache since the last time she stayed up all night playing Monster Hunter.
  • Goggles Do Nothing
  • Meaningful Name: Her surname contains the character for 'fire'.
  • Samaritan Syndrome: Her profile notes that, while she tries to make sure her mother doesn't let this control her life, Aisha secretly has a pretty bad case of it herself.

Eri Takenaka

Super High-School Level Mechatronics Engineer

"Before you sneak around making certain comments about certain classmates’ 'garish' fashion choices, perhaps you should make sure their robot companion isn't stationed around the corner first."

The younger sister of a software engineer working with Japan's Space Exploration Agency, Eri followed in her sibling's footsteps when she became a consultant on new Mars rover technology at the age of 15. She's also a passionate member of the alien speculation community and runs a blog entitled Don’t We All Want To Believe? on the subject.

Amaya Tsukino-Lamont

Super High-School Level Theatrics Master

"Quote."

Known to the theatre world for waving her hands wildly in the air as she screams, “Stop the scene!” Amaya Tsukino-Lamont is certainly passionate about her calling as the best up-and-coming Theatrics Master in Japan. Her abilities as both a Director and a Stage Manager turn scripts into fantastic plays for the viewing of the general public. Not much is known about her publicly, since she prefers to stay out of the limelight. Her strange laugh is one of the most memorable things about her.

  • Gosh Dang It to Heck!!: She really doesn't like excessive amounts of foul language. Hearing Amaya curse is both rare and a sign that someone is is trouble.
  • Team Mom: Amaya feels responsible for her friends and will go to great lengths to make sure they're all healthy and happy. She often finds herself splitting up fights and supplying everyone with cough drops. She's earned the title "Stage Mom" in the theater.
