Toru Kazama (Georgie Prescott)
- Accidental Kiss: He has experienced this with Shinnosuke of all people
- Child Prodigy: He is seen as this by her mother.
- Disappeared Dad: Subverted. The early issues of the manga repeatedly features the parents of all five save for Kazama, where only his mother is mentioned - leading to implications that Kazama is from a single-parent family. Turns out that's not the case, in one of the late, late issues (episode 692 of the anime) Kazama's father is mentioned for the first time, revealed to be working in Australia all the while.
- Everybody Knew Already: Downplayed: Everyone in the Kasukabe Defence Force is aware of his most embarrassing secrets and his fascination with magical girls, especially Moepi, yet he still acts paranoid and tries to keep this embarrassing side of himself from others due to fear of ruining his reputation.
- Fantastic Arousal: Shin chan often teases him by blowing inside his sensitive ears, much to his annoyance.
- Guilty Pleasures: He is a huge fan of Magical Girl animes, such as Mysterious Magical Girl Mari-chan and Moe-P in the latest seasons.
- Keeping Secrets Sucks: He has a difficult time keeping his facade of the perfect boy in front of other privileged children who attend the same extra-scholar classes as him, often ending up being alienated by them at the end of the episode.
- Not So Above It All: Despite being down to the earth, he still has his moments, especially when he tries to keep a good reputation with his friends outside Kasukabe defense force and hide any interest in girly magical girls.
- Only Sane Man: He often portrays this role in the defense force.
- Otaku: He is a closeted otaku of the magical girl genre, specifically of Mysterious Magical Girl Mari-chan and the Moe-P anime
- Perverse Sexual Lust: While not as perverted as Shinnosuke, he has a crush on Moepi and has imagined himself dating her.
- Spoiled Sweet: Despite coming from a rich family, he is seen as a mature, reliable, and well-mannered boy.
- Wholesome Crossdresser:
- In one episode he willingly crossdressed as Moe-P when nobody looked around.
- This aspect is expanded in the videogame Crayon Shin-Chan: Obaka Daininden - Susume! Kasukabe Ninja Tai!, where he can transform into Moe-P for a brief amount of time
- Vitriolic Best Buds: Shin is prone to troll Georgie all the time, pissing him off to no end, but he still regards Shin as his best friend.
Masao Sato (Maso)
- Henpecked Husband: He always plays this role during Nene's twisted tea parties.
- Hopeless Suitor: He is in love with Ai-chan, but she is more interested in Shinnosuke.
- Otaku: He is a huge fan of the Fubukimaru manga, and wants to become a mangaka like his favorite author Usuto Yoshii.
- Prone to Tears: Masao is the most sensible member of the group and is often seen crying.

- Ambiguously Absent Parent: His dad never appeared in both the anime and manga, while his mother only appeared once in the manga.
- Collector of the Strange: Boo likes to collect rocks with strange shapes.
- The Quiet One: He doesn't talk as much as the other members.
- Smarter Than You Look: Despite his silly looks, he has proven to have huge knowledge about ufos
- The Stoic: He is the member with the least range of facial expressions.
Nene Sakurada (Penny Milfer)
- Clingy Jealous Girl: She gets jealous of Ai-chan whenever she flirts with Shin.
- Hair-Trigger Temper: In the later episodes of the series, she inherits her mother's temper and starts punching her stuffed rabbit when she gets mad.
- Like Mother, Like Daughter: Like her mother, she punches a giant rabbit plush when she becomes pissed, but unlike her, she has displayed doing it publicly.
- The Dreaded: Every other member of the Kasukabe Defence Force is afraid of her due to her bossy attitude and her habit of forcing them to play her twisted tea parties.
