Main Trio

    Delilah
The heroine of the game. She was supposed to meet up with her classmates, but they never showed up, so she went to a nearby mansion and got herself trapped.
  • Action Survivor: She is already this in the main game, then in the second playthrough, it is revealed that she has gone through all the crap for 100 times already.
  • The Stoic: She doesn't show many emotions, as seen from her sprite. She only reacts slightly when she sees bizarre things like human limbs falling from a fireplace, or when she expresses concern for Lilin.

    Lilin
A pink-haired girl who rescues Delilah and becomes her ally in escaping.
  • Action Survivor: She has dealt with the hostile spirits and the host numerous times already.
  • Back from the Dead: She and Ian manage to somehow fully become human again and join Delilah in her school in the true ending.
  • Damsel in Distress: When completely surrounded by the evil spirits.
  • Dead All Along: She and Ian were dead for a long time prior to the main game. She is a human-like spirit, made from a failed resurrection magic.
  • Fiery Redhead: Her hair is pink, and she is pretty hot-blooded, especially when it comes to fighting spirits.
  • Good Is Not Soft: She loves taunting evil spirits.
  • Official Couple: The Bonus Room reveals she's Ian's girlfriend, explaining how she got trapped in the mansion.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Ian's blue. She is a Fiery Redhead who is willing to confront the spirits head on and is more optimistic, while Ian is more reserved and pessimistic about their ordeal and prefers stealth to open confrontation.
  • Rescue Introduction: Delilah meets her and Ian after they picked her up from the mansion balcony and brought her to a safe room, away from the masked host who was chasing her down with intent to kill.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: She's a good friend to Delilah and Ian despite the former's initial misgivings, as all she wants is for everyone to escape the mansion.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Her eyes are purple in the upper part, pink in the lower.

    Ian
A quiet boy and friend of Lilin.
  • Back from the Dead: He and Lilin manage to somehow fully become human again and join Delilah in her school in the true ending.
  • Connected All Along: He's the son of the Host and the Hostess.
  • Dead All Along: He and Lilin were dead for a long time prior to the main game. He is a human-like spirit, made from a failed resurrection magic.
  • Mr. Exposition: In New Game Plus, he explains the situation that the trio are really in to her and what they need to do to escape the mansion.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Lilin's red. She is a Fiery Redhead who is willing to confront the spirits head on and is more optimistic, while Ian is more reserved and pessimistic about their ordeal and prefers stealth to open confrontation.
  • Rescue Introduction: Delilah meets him and Lilin after they picked her up from the mansion balcony and brought her to a safe room, away from the masked host who was chasing her down with intent to kill.
  • The Smart Guy: When it comes to magic, he knows a lot about it and explains how it works to Delilah. Which is why the Woman in White altered his memory to make him believe he's her son, hoping he wouldn't stop him. He did anyways.

Mansion Inhabitants

    The Host
A masked man who owns the mansion and commands the spirits residing in it. He is performing experiments on spirits to try to turn a spirit back into a human, and desires to make Delilah his next subject. He was once a simple lord, but had to leave on a business trip. Upon returning, he brought back the strange Woman in White and behaved as a mindless puppet to her.
  • Archnemesis Dad: To Ian, who turns out to be his son, yet he serves the mother who is trying to keep his spirit prisoner in the mansion.
  • Dead All Along: He died sometime during his business trip and was brought back by Lucy's Woman in White persona.
  • Disc-One Final Boss: He appears to be the one behind the spirits and experiments in the mansion, but it turns out he's actually a puppet of the Woman in White with no will of his own.
  • The Dragon: He serves the Woman in White as her muscle and tries to capture Delilah so she can be used in her wife's experiments.
  • Malevolent Masked Man: The murderous host wears a grey visor that covers the upper part of his face while leaving his Slasher Smile visible.

    The Hostess/Lucy
The host's wife. Once a simple lady of the house, she dearly loved her husband and was devastated when he never came back from his business trip, then discovered that he had apparently brought home another woman. Said woman mistreated her and used her husband like a puppet, eventually causing her to snap and burn down the mansion with everyone in it. She has since resided in the cellar as a spirit.
The ending reveals that the Woman in White is actually a part of her who split and revived her dead husband.

    The Woman in White
A mysterious lady who came to the mansion one day. Supposedly, she had revived the dead host and turned him into her puppet with which she terrorized Lucy, eventually driving her to snap and burn down the mansion. Now a spirit, shellers people to her mansion in order to turn them into test subjects for her experiments to make a spirit turn back into a human.
The ending reveals she is actually a part of Lucy who embodied her grief at having lost her husband. After resurrecting him, she sought to create a body for herself so she could exist without Lucy, and so began her experiments.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: The Bad Ending has Delilah be captured by the Host, her puppet, and made into another test subject for her.
  • Big Bad: She is the one who trapped Delilah, Lilin, and Ian in her mansion to experiment on them, using the Host as her puppet.
  • Enemy Without: She is revealed to be Lucy's grief for her husband made manifest, and burned down the mansion to turn everyone in it into her test subjects to gain a separate body for herself.
  • Ethereal White Dress: The Woman in White, as her name suggests, wears a white dress and is revealed to be a spirit with supernatural powers.
  • Everyone Calls Him "Barkeep": Her text box merely calls her "Woman in White", and nobody calls her by name. Seeing as she is an Enemy Without of Lucy who wants to be independent of her, it can be assumed that calling herself the Woman in White is meant to distance herself from Lucy.
  • Evil Matriarch: She is Ian's mother who uses him as a test subject in her experiments.
  • Literal Split Personality: She split off from Lucy at some point, desiring an existence independent of Lucy.
  • Light Is Not Good: The Woman in White, as her name suggests, wears a white dress to go with her blonde hair, and is the true Big Bad of the game, a malevolent spirit who performs experiments on innocent people.
  • Mad Scientist: She has been luring people to the mansion and killing them, turning them into spirits, as an experiment. She desires to discover the process by which to turn a spirt into a human so that she, a Literal Split Personality of Lucy, can manifest herself as a human and exist as an independent being.
  • Pet the Dog: For all her evil, she does have a moment just before her demise when she lets Ian leave the mansion and tells her that, since she never treated him like a son, he doesn't need to treat her like a mother. Given that this happens after Lucy appears to have merged with her, it can be said that she regained her love for him at that moment.

    Spirits
The entities roaming the mansion. They are the product of the host's experiments, and will try to kill Delilah if they see her.
  • Evil Is Not a Toy: The Woman in White created the Vengeful Ghosts thinking she could control them, and for a while she did. But when Delilah breaks her hold over them, they immediately come after her and Delilah, forcing her to briefly join the party to escape.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Many of the hostile spirits have glowing red eyes.
  • Vengeful Ghost: They were all people lured to the mansion and killed by the Woman in White as part of her experiments, and now roam the mansion killing anyone who enters. Eventually, they try to come after the Woman in White herself.
