Main Characters
Jake Wheeler
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Zackary Arthur
A creative, bullied, gay 14-year-old who buys Chucky at a yard sale.- Afraid of Blood: During the frog dissection scene in the first episode of the series, he has a minor anxiety attack over it because he can’t stand the sight of blood.
- Author Avatar: Don Mancini has said in publicity interviews that he based the character on himself as a teenager. His portrayer Zackary Arthur even bares Celebrity Resemblance to Mancini himself.
- Calling the Old Man Out: When he tells his abusive father Luke You Should Have Died Instead.
- Foil: To Chucky. Chucky had an overall awesome childhood as well as loving parents, but cared nothing for them and killed his own mother to impress a serial killer. While Jake also grew up with loving parents, his father became very abusive and critical of him after his mother died in an accident. However, Jake still loved both of his parents, was devastated when his father died, and hates it when people mock his father, showing that he still loved his dad even after all that he did. In behavior, Chucky's solution to dealing with bullies is to brutally kill them, while Jake almost never acts on his anger and controls his murderous impulses.
- Gay Best Friend: He quickly becomes this to Lexy, after they make amends.
- Gayngst: He's constantly picked on and ridiculed for his sexuality, whether it be by his homophobic dad or his peers. Thankfully, things do get somewhat better for him.
- Horrible Judge of Character: Downplayed, but despite hating his Abusive Dad, rather than rejoicing or feeling indifferent he still loves and mourns him after his death, seeing it as a Heel–Face Door-Slam as he thought he could be redeemed, despite clearly having shown no regret for his mistreatment of Jake, nor did he consider changing his ways before his death.
- I Can Change My Beloved: Of a familial variety. He believes that had Lucas actually gotten to know Devon, he would have eventually gotten over his homophobia.
- The Jinx: Junior outright calls him one for people around him dying.
- Kindhearted Cat Lover: In the first episode, he has a cat named Binxy. Upon finding a clump of Binxy's bloody fur, he looks devastated.
- Loser Protagonist: He's a gay teen who is bullied by his gay bashing peers and has a homophobic Lower-Class Lout gas station attendant of an Abusive Dad and Fantasy-Forbidding Father who views him as the Black Sheep for his sexual orientation and artistry.
- Official Couple: With Devon.
- Only Sane by Comparison: He's initially portrayed as the Only Sane Man, compared to the rest of the cast. The trauma of his dad's death and Chucky prodding him to embrace his darker impulses lead him to undergo a mild case of Sanity Slippage, however. Although he prevents himself from sinking too deep by saving Lexy, he's visibly less composed and more twitchy afterward.
- Sympathy for the Devil: He still mourns his Abusive Dad's death in spite of every homophobic thing he's done to him in the first season finale.
- Troubled Teen: His mother passed away before the start of this series, he's gay and bullied at school for it as well as by his father who is homophobic. When taken in by his uncle, he's clearly seen as the odd man out.
- The Unfavorite: Treated as such by his family except his uncle Logan as of this point.
Devon Evans
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Björgvin Arnarson
Jake's crush and best friend.- Amateur Sleuth: He's a true crime podcaster who aspires to be this.
- The Lancer: For Jake, his love interest.
- Like Parent, Like Child: He wants to be a detective like his police detective mother. Devon aspires to be an earnest and honest one unlike his mother, a rash Police Are Useless Inspector Javert who relies on implementing Insane Troll Logic than actual practical investigation.
- Official Couple: With Jake.
- Only Sane Man: Devon, unlike Jake, Lexy, or Junior, doesn't have any deep-seated issues.
- In season 2, he's the only one who knows trusting (an admittedly brainwashed) Chucky is a terrible idea. While Jake and Lexy are also reluctant, they still heed Chucky on account he may be useful.
- Twofer Token Minority: He's African-American and also queer, as evidenced by his relationship with Jake.
Alexandra 'Lexy' Cross
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Alyvia Alyn Lind
Junior's girlfriend and the Mayor's daughter.- Adoption Diss: She jokes about Caroline being adopted when she really isn't. This comes back to bite her when Chucky has Caroline convinced she really is adopted and Tiffany is her real mother.
- Alpha Bitch: Formerly. She was a self-centered Rich Bitch who bullied Jake before she Took a Level in Kindness and became a Lovable Alpha Bitch Anti-Hero.
- Anti-Hero: She's the first in a franchise as she began as an Alpha Bitch, but becomes an unlikely ally for Jake and slowly gains redemption for her past.
- Asshole Victim: A non-fatal example compared to other characters; whenever something bad happens to Lexy, it was well-deserved, until her reformation into an Anti-Hero.
- Big Sister Bully: Towards her younger sister, Caroline, at first, but as the series progresses, it becomes clear she truly does love and want to protect her.
- Big Sister Instinct: Although Lexy is presented at first as a Big Sister Bully, she eventually proves she ultimately is protective of her sister, Caroline. In episode 4, she chews out Jake for giving Chucky to Caroline despite knowing who he was, and later tries to keep Caroline safe from Chucky.
- Break the Haughty: An entitled snot who experiences several well-deserved misfortunes caused by Chucky, this causes her to reform into a much better person.
- Condescending Compassion: After hearing about Jake's money troubles, she starts a GoFundMe page for him, claiming it's to help, when it's really just to humiliate him.
- Character Development: Lexy goes from being a self-centered bully to a more humbled, kinder person who becomes one of Jake’s best friends.
- Descent into Addiction: In Season 2, Lexy becomes addicted to pills in order to cope with the war against Chucky and the deaths of her father and her boyfriend, Junior.
- Driven to Suicide: Lexy almost overdoses on pills at least twice, but pulls away at the last second.
- Enemy Mine: Coinciding with her Character Development, she puts aside her animosity toward Jake once it's clear that they both share a bigger problem in Chucky.
- Everyone Has Standards: While imitating the death of Jake's father during the Halloween party, she briefly gives a look of guilt when she sees how upset Jake is by it. It doesn't stop her from continuing the joke or further bullying Jake.
- Regardless of her Alpha Bitch personality at first, she was still horrified by the notion of murder, and is heartbroken when her boyfriend Junior joins Chucky's side.
- Fallen Princess: Starting off as one of the most popular girls in school who has rich parents (with her mother being the mayor) and is dating one of the school's star jocks, the stress of Chucky coming after her begins to wear her down mentally. Then her boyfriend and father die on the same evening, causing her to turn to drugs and attempted sex to cope; and a year later her mother dies too, while her sister runs off with a Serial Killer, leaving her an orphan plus likely having lost her fortune and reputation.
- Final Girl: Despite starting out as a completely unlikeable Alpha Bitch, she gradually ends up surviving both seasons.
- Fire-Forged Friends: With Jake when they team up to stop Chucky.
- Freudian Excuse: Her being the Unfavorite compared to Caroline could explain why she was such a bitch, as well as being from a privileged snobby family and her mother being a worse Alpha Bitch. However, Lexy eventually renounces her past and becomes a better person.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Subverted. Lexy does begin as an inversion, being an Alpha Bitch bully, but experiences a Heel–Face Turn into a compassionate yet troubled hero.
- Hate Sink: Before she Took a Level in Kindness into a Humble Pie Nominal Hero, she was a bigger bully than anyone else that isn’t Lucas Wheeler.
- Heel–Face Turn: Lexy began as an Alpha Bitch villain, but due to the Enemy Mine against Chucky, losing people close to her and almost being killed several times herself, Lexy changes into a Lovable Alpha Bitch Anti-Hero.
- Humble Pie: Chucky putting her through multiple Break the Haughty moments caused her to Take a Level in Kindness as part of her Character Development. Jake eventually tears into her for her callousness not just towards him, but everyone around her, and argues definitively that him choosing her specifically to be killed by Chucky reflects more on her character than his. This coupled with him still choosing to save her from Chucky really sinks in.
- Hypocrite: In the second episode, she calls Jake a bully because of his "ventriloquist act" with Chucky, yet she's been an even worse bully towards Jake. She says this when just preceding Chucky going on stage, she was about to out Jake's crush on Devon to every student, teacher and parent in attendance, including Devon's mom.
- Like Brother and Sister: When she learns that Jake wanted to run away, she calls him out for abandoning his family. This at least implies she now considers him a brother. By the end of Season 2, it is clear Jake thinks of her in a similar fashion.
- Like Mother, Like Daughter: Lexy begins the series as an arrogant Alpha Bitch like her mother, but due to the war with Chucky, changes into a better person. Her mother also counts as her Freudian Excuse.
- Lovable Alpha Bitch: Becomes this after her Trauma Conga Line causes her Take a Level in Kindness.
- Never My Fault: She's right to point out that Jake sending Chucky to kill her was Disproportionate Retribution that got many of their classmates injured and one killed, as well as hospitalizing her sister. She loses sympathy, however, by acting completely oblivious to why Jake would target her, after her relentless bullying that peaked at mocking his father's death, then giving him an awful Backhanded Apology with the ulterior motive of getting something from him. She honestly believes she had no way of knowing he was so upset by her actions, saying he should have talked it out with her instead of sending Chucky.
- Noble Bigot: Despite the possibility of bullying Jake out of homophobia, she eventually teams up with him to stop Chucky. By Season 2, it is made clear she is completely supportive of Jake and Devon being together.
- Nominal Hero: At first. But after being almost killed by Chucky several times, and teaming up with Jake to stop him, she slowly becomes an Anti-Hero, if not an outright hero.
- Only Sane Woman: Becomes this after surviving an attack by Chucky.
- Pet the Dog: While she can be a Big Sister Bully at times, Lexy does care about her little sister Caroline deep down, and often goes out of her way to make Caroline happy, such as getting Chucky from Jake to calm her down and singing her to sleep.
- Lexy forms a sweet, close friendship with Nadine, who helps to further reform Lexy into a better person.
- Platonic Life-Partners: She and Jake become these after becoming friends.
- Properly Paranoid: She is able to sense something bad about Chucky before he reveals himself to her.
- Rich Bitch: At first. She's from a wealthy family and used her connections as the mayor's daughter to avoid facing punishment at school. But she gets better after a Trauma Conga Line.
- Rule 34: Implied to be into this; Chucky reveals her search history includes Pokémon porn.
- Shipper on Deck: After becoming friends with Jake and Devon, she becomes very supportive of their relationship, even inviting Devon to stay with her during the holidays so he could be with Jake.
- Ship Tease: With Grant Collins. Exploited due to Lexy using him to get her, Jake and Devon into the White House to stop Chucky.
- Strong Family Resemblance: She and her mother both look alike. It certainly helps that their actresses are mother and daughter in real life.
- Supporting Protagonist: In the show where she is designated as the Final Girl.
- Took a Level in Badass: She goes from being tormented and often times defenseless at the hands of Chucky to hacking him up with his own chainsaw in the Season 2 finale.
- Took a Level in Kindness: She begins making an effort to become a better person after Jake calls her out for her behavior and immediately saves her life afterwards, despite their mutual dislike and Chucky goading him to let her die.
- Trauma Conga Line: Responsible for her reformation into a hero after beginning the series as an Alpha Bitch bully. She is nearly killed several times, her boyfriend and father are killed, and she is separated from her friends for months. To cope with this, she becomes addicted to pills. She almost completely gets over it, but then her new friend Nadine is brutally killed as well, sending her spiraling back into her old addiction. Then as things start looking up for her with her again with her finally making up with her mother, Chucky kills her and it is revealed her sister Caroline was brainwashed by Chucky and willingly leaves with Tiffany, leaving her orphaned.
- Troubled Teen: Lexy is a teen girl who suffers from drug addiction and a dysfunctional family life, along with witnessing the deaths of her boyfriend Junior and best friend Nadine.
- Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: She routinely engages in activities that would be worrisome in an adult, let alone in a teenager. To wit.
- Despite only being 14 years old, she looks at Pokémon porn and already smokes so much pot that her first reaction when Chucky starts messing with her is blaming it on all the weed she smokes before the school day. Later at Oliver's Halloween party it is heavily implied that she wanted to have sex with Junior and gets very frustrated when he doesn't know how to go about it.
- In the Season 2 premiere, now 15 years old, she is once again trying to have sex with her current boyfriend, and it's revealed that she's now resorting to much harder drugs, even stealing and doing lines of her mother's prescription medications, as a means of coping with the trauma she endured because of Chucky.
- By Season 3, she is posting what she herself describes as thirst traps on TikTok to encourage people to come forward with information about Caroline's whereabouts, despite being no more than 16 years old. She also uses her looks to manipulate Grant Collins into granting them access into the White House.
- Unexpected Kindness: Lexy showing concern for her sister in Episode 4 when Caroline is in the hospital after the house fire seems to genuinely surprise her parents.
- The Unfavorite: Her mother puts up with none of her shit, telling her straight to her face that her sister is more talented and that Caroline's drawing of Chucky is better than anything Lexy has ever done in her life.
Junior Wheeler
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Teo Briones
Jake's antagonistic cousin and Lexy's boyfriend.- Big Brother Bully: He's actually Jake's cousin, but fits the criteria.
- Cain and Abel: A cousin variation, with him acting as the Cain to Jake's Abel, especially after his Face–Heel Turn.
- Calling the Old Man Out: He calls out Logan for supposedly cheating on Bree.
- Co-Dragons: Shares one half being The Dragon next to Tiffany, making him the third active human villain sided with Chucky besides Tiffany before her first human death and after taking over Jennifer Tilly's body and the first teen sidekick for Chucky in the franchise.
- The Comically Serious: His bemused reaction to Chucky's and Tiffany's Laughably Evil moments in episode 8.
- The Dark Side Will Make You Forget: He has no onscreen reaction to finding out that Tiffany is associated with Chucky in the first season finale and remains aligned with the murderous duo until his last-second Heel–Face Turn, despite her supposed affair with his dad being what prompted him to side with Chucky and commit patricide in the previous episode.
- Death of a Child: Chucky stabs him to death when he's hesitant to murder Lexy. This is notable because this is the second kid he's shown to have killed, after Oliver.
- Decoy Protagonist: Set up as one of the teen Supporting Protagonists and firm believers of the killer doll in the show. But then comes his Face–Heel Turn as one of Chucky's Co-Dragons in the penultimate episode and his death in the next episode.
- Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: Bree's death and the belief his father was cheating on her with Tiffany is what driven him to complete villainy. Logan badmouthing her is what turned him into his first kill.
- Everyone Has Standards:
- As much as he hates Jake, Junior's mortified when Lexy dresses up as Jake's recently deceased father, Luke, and even pantomimes being electrocuted, especially since Luke was also his uncle. In episode 3, he confronts her about it, and outright says that she crossed a line. Subverted once he commits his Face–Heel Turn.
- He looks weirded out in episode 8 when Tiffany starts talking to Chucky as if he were a baby.
- He's visibly uncomfortable with the prospect of killing Devon, someone who’s been nothing short of kind to him, when Tiffany and Nica/Chucky try talking him into it. Thankfully, he doesn’t.
- Face–Heel Turn: As Chucky's henchman.
- Only one episode later, he performs a Heel–Face Turn at the expense of his life to save Lexy from Chucky, asking her to let all of the survivors know that he is sorry with his dying breath.
- Heteronormative Crusader: He possibly hates Jake out of homophobia rather than thinking Loners Are Freaks, which Jake also is. Then comes his Face–Heel Turn when he targets his gay cousin for death.
- His Name Really Is "Barkeep": As his grave reveals, Junior is really his forename, not the more likely Logan Wheeler Jr.
- Jerkass Has a Point: After getting chased down by Jake brandishing a butcher knife following being encouraged by Chucky, he had every good reason to give out a What the Hell, Hero? against Jake which caused him to snap back to his senses. For all his hatred of Jake, he still has some sympathetic qualities shown on the show so far that cannot be said he deserved to be killed. Subverted when he succumbs to Chucky's manipulations and have the guts to kill his own father as his initiation as Chucky's crony.
- Jerk Jock: He's an overachieving jock.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Shows nothing but contempt for Jake. Even after Jake moves in with his family following Luke's death, he still treats him terribly even when Jake tries to reach out to him. However, there are some instances that Junior may have a Hidden Heart of Gold that while he does not like Jake, it doesn't mean he doesn't care about him as when Lexy keeps bad talking Jake, he tells to go easy on him since he just lost his dad in a horrific accident. Also, he's aghast at Lexy's mockery of his uncle's and Jake's dad's death at the house party to a point he tells her she's crossed the line.
- Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: However, after his mother's death, any moral standing that holds him back goes out the window. Then comes his Face–Heel Turn as one of Chucky's willing cronies up until his Heel–Face Turn at the cost of his life.
- Madness Mantra: Starts singing "We Got the Beat" whenever under emotional distress.
- Noble Bigot: Despite the possibility of hating Jake out of homophobia, there are hints he has a Hidden Heart of Gold as there is difference to not liking or caring for someone, as Junior does care for Jake despite his contempt. Subverted once he commits his Face–Heel Turn and targets his gay cousin for death.
- Only Known By His Nickname: He is credited and addressed as Junior, but it's possible his full name is Logan Wheeler Jr. However, his grave reveals Junior is indeed his actual first name.
- Patricide: Killed his own father, which is later lampshaded by Chucky when he calls him "Mr. Patricide".
- Redemption Equals Death: When Lexy reminds him of his Hidden Heart of Gold and Chucky tells him to kill her, he instead stabs Chucky, but in return receives a fatal knife wound from the killer doll.
- The Scapegoat: The second season premiere reveals he's been posthumously blamed for some of the murders Chucky caused in Hackensack during the first season.
- Self-Made Orphan: Killed his sole remaining parent just after losing his mother.
- Start of Darkness: The murder of his own father.
- Teens Are Monsters: Downplayed as Junior is a teenaged jerk. Played straight, however, in episode 7 when he kills his own father and becomes a villain.
- Took a Level in Jerkass: After his mother's death.
- Unwitting Pawn: For Chucky as one of his allies.
- "Well Done, Son" Guy: As it turns out, Junior is really a Broken Ace shaped by his Sports Dad, making him much of a victim of his father's selfishness as Jake is.
- What Does He See in Her?: Is dating Lexy, an Alpha Bitch and bully to his cousin, the latter of which is something they both bond over due to his own hatred of his cousin. He's still together with her even after it's revealed that she's been cheating on him with Oliver. Though that ends once he breaks up with her, ironically after she Took a Level in Kindness and is more out of Guilt by Association for her taking Jake's side.
- Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: As his grave reveals, Junior really is his given name rather than a nickname short for Logan Wheeler Jr.
Nadine
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Bella Higginbotham
Lexy's roommate at the Catholic School of the Incarnate Lord.- Bespectacled Cutie: She wears big round glasses and is a very upbeat and friendly girl.
- Decoy Protagonist: Set up as one of the teenage Supporting Protagonists against of the killer doll in the show's second season and a potential Final Girl. But, then comes her death in the antepenultimate episode of said season.
- Destination Defenestration: Chucky pushes her out from a spire, sending her plummeting to her death.
- Et Tu, Brute?: After Chucky is turned good by the group, she is the only one (other than Jake) to immediately accept him, taking on the role as his godmother. This Chucky is who ends up murdering her.
- Kill the Cutie: A sweet and friendly girl, she tragically ends up as part of the body count.
- Morality Chain: She becomes this to Lexy, convincing her to kick her drug habit.
- Nice Girl: She is very positive and friendly towards everybody, immediately trying to befriend Lexy after becoming roommates with her.
- Only One Name: We never find out what her last name is.
- Only Sane Woman: Upon knowing Chucky's existence, she ends up aiding Jake, Lexy, and Devon.
- Pietà Plagiarism: She's pushed from a spire to her death and lands in the arms of a statue of the Virgin Mary, visually evoking this trope.
- Sticky Fingers: The reason she was sent to Incarnate Lord was because she's a kleptomaniac, and her parents couldn't deal with her.
- Supporting Protagonist: In the show's second season, until her death.
- Too Good for This Sinful Earth: Probably the nicest character in the whole franchise that takes place in a Crapsack World whose only crime is being a compulsive thief, it doesn't stop her from being part of Chucky's body count.
- Quirky Curls: She has short, curly hair and is very eccentric.
The Wheeler Family
Lucas Wheeler
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Devon Sawa
Jake's abusive redneck father.- Abusive Dad: Hits his son Jake and threatens his life over his sexuality, and destroys his doll sculpture out of cruelty.
- Alas, Poor Villain: Jake views his death as this in the season finale.
- Alcoholic Dad: Is a violent homophobic drunk and an Abusive Dad.
- Archnemesis Dad: Was posing to become this towards Jake, threatening to kill him.
- Asshole Victim: Is an abusive father, who is electrocuted by Chucky. Deconstructed by Jake to Chucky in the season finale.
- Berserk Button: Jake being gay enrages him enough to even threaten to kill him.
- Big Bad Wannabe: He was appearing to take up being an Archnemesis Dad for Jake, attempting to forcibly change him even if he would be Offing the Offspring. While it does make him a threat in any other work, he's just a small potato compared to Chucky.
- Cain and Abel: The Cain to Logan’s Abel. However, there are a few subtle hints present from the start of the series that Logan may not be a charitable parent himself, something that is made fairly clear come Episode 4. Then, it becomes Cain and Cain when Logan starts Drowning His Sorrows and dies just after having Took a Level in Jerkass in the penultimate episode.
- Death by Irony: Meets his demise by electrocution, after Chucky vomits his own alcohol on the floor while he's trying to fix the power after an outage.
- Dead Star Walking: The biggest name in the show who suffers a High-Voltage Death. It's downplayed, though, given that Devon Sawa is Acting for Two. It would not be played completely straight until the penultimate episode when Sawa's other character bites it too.
- Fantasy-Forbidding Father: Disapproves of Jake's aspirations to become an artist. He claims it's because it's no sensible way to make a living, but it is heavily implied that he associates it with Jake being gay which he disapproves of/is in denial about.
- Have You Tried Not Being a Monster?: Pressures Jake into dating girls despite being very much aware that he's gay.
- Hate Sink: Much worse than his brother.
- High-Voltage Death: How he bites it.
- Homophobic Hate Crime: Hits Jake and threatens him for his sexual orientation.
- I Have No Son!: His yelling about how he doesn't want to see Jake anymore moments before his death can be interpreted as this.
- Lower-Class Lout: He's a blue-collar auto shop mechanic degenerate and a homophobic abusive parent.
- Make It Look Like an Accident: As with many of Chucky's kills, being electrocuted from standing in a puddle of whiskey vomited up by a doll convinces everyone that he simply made a lethal mistake while drunk.
- Offing the Offspring: He threatens to kill Jake (his son) for his sexual orientation.
- Polar Opposite Twins: Lucas is an abusive alcoholic while Logan is much more caring and understanding. Granted, there are a number of early hints that Logan may not be a truly charitable parent himself. Then there's the penultimate episode after Logan takes up drinking too and becomes as bad as he is by belittling Junior just before his death.
- Politically Incorrect Villain: He's homophobic.
- Sibling Rivalry: With Logan on who's the better family patriarch, regardless of the lows both would sink to. While Logan's no saint in the end, he's at least not a bigot like Lucas.
- The Sociopath: A low-functioning example, he has a general Lack of Empathy and cares only for himself rather than his family and son as he focuses on competing with his equally despicable twin brother on who is the better family patriarch over actually loving and accepting his son.
- Troubled Abuser: Jake views him as this if what he says about him in the season finale indicates.
- You're Not My Father: Jake saying You Should Have Died Instead to him can be interpreted as this.
Logan Wheeler
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Devon Sawa
Jake's uncle, Junior's father, and Bree's husband.- Abusive Dad: He was a Sports Dad who shaped his son into a "Well Done, Son" Guy and badmouths him just before his death.
- Actor Allusion: This actually isn't the first television series project where Devon Sawa plays a Jerk Jock.
- Adults Are Useless: He was Locked Out of the Loop of Chucky's existence and his misdeeds. Episode 4 also reveals a pointed side to himself when it's revealed he shaped Junior as a "Well Done, Son" Guy extension of himself. Then, he never saw it coming when his son beats him to death.
- Alcoholic Dad: He's a father who later starts Drowning His Sorrows.
- Ambiguously Evil: So far he has been nothing, but supportive and caring towards The Protagonist, but so was Joanne Simpson, David and Ian before they Took a Level in Jerkass after viewing protagonists Andy Barclay, Jade Kincaid, Jesse and Nica Pierce as each a Broken Pedestal and ended up as Asshole Victims for turning on them not long after as per Strictly Formula for the franchise. The show has yet to lead to where Logan's character arc would ultimately end up if he'll be a Supporting Protagonist for the adult cast or just be like the latter characters who pointedly showed they are Not So Above It All when they're What You Are in the Dark. As of Episode 4, it's been made fully clear that Logan is a Sports Dad who shaped his son into a "Well Done, Son" Guy, eerily not unlike his brother wanting to shape Jake to his own image himself, therefore steering him more towards to the latter. The ambiguity completely disappears when he badmouths his own late wife just before his death.
- Archnemesis Dad: For Junior.
- Asshole Victim: Downplayed. Despite being nothing but nice towards The Protagonist Jake throughout the show, he dies after having Took a Level in Jerkass by badmouthing his late wife and his son as cowardly quitters. Chucky even lampshades it in episode 8.
- Berserk Button: Calling out how his parenting has caused Junior to become a "Well Done, Son" Guy who Logan sees as a way for him to relive his glory days.
- Beware of the Nice Ones: On the surface at the least, Logan is one of the more reasonable adults in the franchise. Despite this, he has no problem punching Lexy's father in the face when he pushes his buttons. Then after Drowning His Sorrows, his true colors emerge.
- Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Despite appearing to be the Abel to his brother's Cain, there are subtle hints that Logan isn't a great parent either. After drinking like his brother post-Bree's death, he finally reveals his true colors as being just like Lucas.
- Bludgeoned to Death: When Junior can't take any more of his dad's shit, he beats him to death. With Chucky.
- Cain and Abel: The Abel to Luke’s Cain. Subverted starting in Episode 4 where Logan may not be a charitable parent himself. Then it becomes Cain and Cain when Logan starts Drowning His Sorrows and dies just after having Took a Level in Jerkass in the penultimate episode.
- Cool Uncle: For Jake. He never says anything ill about his nephew when he takes to Drowning His Sorrows like his brother, even as he badmouths his own late wife and son before his death (thus not exactly becoming an evident Evil Uncle).
- Dead Star Walking: The biggest name in the show who suffers a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown death, completing this trope after Devon Sawa's other character Luke's death given he is Acting for Two.
- Decoy Protagonist: He is played by by The Hero of Final Destination and the show seemingly builds up he may be one of the adult Supporting Protagonists to play a part in helping the teens once they all cross paths with Chucky, but then all of a sudden he is killed as an Asshole Victim by his son with the Killer Doll.
- Drowning His Sorrows: He starts drinking following Bree's death, which exposes his nastier side.
- Hate Sink: Downplayed, though he isn’t as bad as his brother and despite his exclusive Pet the Dog moments with The Protagonist Jake, he still Took a Level in Jerkass after Drowning His Sorrows and even badmouthed his own late wife.
- I Have No Son!: Telling Junior he's a quitter for failing to meet up his expectations as a "Well Done, Son" Guy just before his death is layered with this.
- It's All About Me: He subtly shows shades of this. It's implied that he views Junior as a way for him to relive his glory days as an athlete, which is made more explicit in his final moments.
- Jerkass to One: He's exclusively a subtly emotionally Abusive Dad to his son and later calls his late wife a quitter, but is nicer to his nephew.
- Jerk Jock: He's subtly hinted to have been this when it's revealed he forced his glory days as an athlete onto his son, a notion made more explicit in his final moments.
- Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: For all his faults as a Sports Dad, he seems to love his wife, nephew and son very much unlike his brother Luke. But after taking up drinking like Luke following his wife's death, he badmouths her and his son as quitters just before his death.
- Mistaken for Cheating: Chucky and Tiffany frames him for committing adultery behind Bree's back to motivate Junior to kill his own father.
- No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: How he bites it, with a Chucky Good Guy doll, by his own son no less.
- Not So Above It All: Episode 4 reveals he has a dark side. By the the penultimate episode, he sinks to an all new low after taking up Drowning His Sorrows.
- Open-Minded Parent: Or uncle, as he's more accepting of Jake being gay than his own father Luke.
- Pet the Dog: Exclusively towards his nephew Jake.
- Polar Opposite Twins: Logan is a kind and caring person while Luke is an abusive alcoholic. Subverted in Episode 4 where Logan may not be a truly charitable parent himself. Even in his lowest moments, he proves to be the better brother.
- Politically Correct Villain: He's not homophobic to Jake unlike his brother, even up to his final moments. A downplayed example, given that he largely appears to simply not care about his nephew's sexuality, in contrast to his brother's blatant homophobia.
- Sacrificial Lion: His death signified his son's initiation into becoming Chucky's disciple and one of the show's main antagonists.
- Sibling Rivalry: With Lucas on who's the better family patriarch, regardless of the lows both would sink to. Despite Logan revealing his true colors before his death, he still comes off as slightly better than Lucas.
- The Sociopath: An ambiguous example, as despite his Pet the Dog moments with his nephew Jake, he only raises his family out of his shallow self-centered pride and vanity much like his brother Lucas, while his love for his wife and son is either non-existent or selfish love as he apparently views Bree as nothing more, but a Trophy Wife, while using Junior being a "Well Done, Son" Guy as an outlet for reliving his glory days as an athlete. When he feels they both fail to meet his expectations, he curses and disowns them both out of his own narcissism.
- Speak Ill of the Dead: The last thing he said was Bree, whom he ultimately views as nothing more but a Trophy Wife, was a quitter before getting beaten to death.
- Sports Dad: He pressures Junior to be an athlete just so he can relive his glory days through his son.
- Took a Level in Jerkass: After Drowning His Sorrows.
- Tranquil Fury: He hisses through his teeth when telling Junior that he and the late Bree are quitters.
- Upper-Class Twit: In parallel to his brother Lucas' Lower-Class Lout.
- What You Are in the Dark: He starts to show a dark side in Episode 4. In the penultimate episode, after he begins Drowning His Sorrows, his true colors emerge.
Bree Wheeler (Unmarked Spoilers)
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Lexa Doig
Jake's aunt, Junior's mother, and Logan's wife.- Adults Are Useless: She was Locked Out of the Loop of Chucky's existence and his misdeeds, and never saw him coming when he pushed her out of the window to her death.
- Cool Aunt: Despite her concerns, she's ultimately a played straight example for Jake. She tells Dr. Mixter that though uncertain how to effectively handle Jake's trauma, she still loves him and wants to make sure he's cared for after she's gone.
- Dead Star Walking: To a certain degree amongst the horror genre circle, she is played by the Final Girl of Jason X and becomes part of the bodycount.
- Decoy Protagonist: She is played by the Final Girl of Jason X and the show seemingly builds up she may be one of the adult Supporting Protagonists to play a part in helping the teens once they all cross paths with Chucky (especially after The Reveal she's a Good All Along Sheep in Sheep's Clothing who was just suffering from cancer), but then all of a sudden she is killed by the Killer Doll.
- Destination Defenestration: Chucky uses a cart to ram her out of a window, sending her plummeting several stories to her doom.
- Dies Wide Open: Her eyes are open after she falls onto her car from several stories.
- Distaff Counterpart: Initially of Phil Simpson from the second film, questioning the suspicious circumstances around the deaths of her brother-in-law and housekeeper surrounding her nephew Jake much like how Phil questioned Andy's sanity over believing Chucky being real and his own suspicious circumstances around the deaths. They both even asked if they're "qualified to look after a boy like this."
- Facial Horror: When she falls head-first into her car's windshield, some broken glass gets in her face.
- Good All Along: She's not cheating on Logan nor a Resentful Guardian towards Jake nor an Asshole Victim when she is killed.
- Heel–Face Door-Slam: Just as she decides to spend the rest of her days with her family and revealed to be Good All Along, Chucky steals all that when he kills her.
- Locked Out of the Loop: She is completely oblivious to the threat Chucky poses nor his existence.
- Mistaken for Suicidal: Because stage 4 cancer was killing her and she chose to stop treatment, her death is thought to have been a suicide. Nobody except Jake and his friends realize that she was killed by Chucky.
- Morality Chain: For Junior and Logan, both of whom go off the rails after her death.
- Obstructive Bureaucrat: Subverted. While she initially gave off an impression she's a Distaff Counterpart of the second film's Phil Simpson who was also this as they appeared to both questioned the boy's suspicious aura over caring for him, for Bree it ultimately isn't the case and the context is more if she's in the condition to care for Jake due to her cancer diagnosis.
- Only Sane Woman: Of the adults in the Wheeler family, she's this. While Lucas and Logan are abusive parents who try imposing their own desires and whims onto their sons regardless of how they feel about it, she cares more about the personal needs plus well-being of her son and nephew.
- Resentful Guardian: Subverted. After Chucky's stunt at the talent show and her maid's death, she confides in Logan of her doubts regarding their nephew's behavior which he dismisses as only Jake grieving over Lucas. She even asks whether they were even "qualified to look after a boy like this", which is almost verbatim what Phil Simpson from the second film said about Andy. Episode 5 reveals she does care for Jake, but is afraid of how her terminal cancer diagnosis will impede her ability to look after him and also is unsure of how to handle his situation after she dies.
- Sacrificial Lamb: Her death prompts Jake and his friends to take action in really stopping Chucky.
- Secretly Dying: Slightly downplayed. She's slowly dying from Stage 4 cancer. And, while she originally hid it from her family, she did tell her therapist this.
- Sheep in Sheep's Clothing: At first glance early in the show, she gave off the Ambiguously Evil impression she may be a shady person of a Bitch in Sheep's Clothing and a potential Asshole Victim, but once the cancer diagnosis is out in the open, all that is all jettisoned and her death is actually tragic.
- Trophy Wife: For Logan, as part of feeding his pride as the better patriarch, but after her death that was thought to be a suicide, he calls her a quitter for turning her back on him with her passing.
- Walking Spoiler: It's challenging not to discuss her without spoiling a reveal she's heavily tied to; that she isn't cheating on her husband and is dying of cancer.
- Your Days Are Numbered: She's experiencing Stage 4 cancer and eventually chooses to forgo treatment to spend her remaining days with her family. Chucky promptly hastens her demise by shoving her out a window.
The Cross Family
Michelle Cross
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Barbara Alyn Woods
Hackensack's mayor, and Lexy's mother.- A Death in the Limelight: After barely appearing in the second season, the finale takes place at her home and gives her focus leading up to her demise by Chucky.
- Like Mother, Like Daughter: Lexy, her oldest daughter, inherited both her looks and her snobby, cruel personality before becoming nicer after Chucky's attack.
- Half the Man He Used to Be: She gets sawed vertically in half by Chucky wielding a chainsaw.
- Karma Houdini Warranty: She may have evaded death in the first season, but she finally gets hers in the next.
- Pet the Dog: She shows sympathy for Jake's plight after his father's death, and scolds Lexy for continuing to bully him despite everything he's endured.
- Red Herring: She's clearly built up to be a potential Asshole Victim, but instead survives the first season, while her husband bites it. However, her luck would run out in the second season finale.
- Redemption Equals Death: She and Lexy finally are honest with other and Michelle admits that she's made mistakes in raising Lexy, and is proud of her overcoming addiction and starting to grow. So naturally, Michelle bites it a few scenes later.
- Sleazy Politician: She sticks the Hackensack taxpayers with the bill for repairing her house for the damage caused by a fire that her own daughter caused.
- Strong Family Resemblance: She looks similar to her oldest daughter, Lexy. It helps that their actresses are actually mother and daughter in real life.
Nathan Cross
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Michael Therriault
Lexy's father and Michelle's husband.- Alcoholic Dad: Implied, as he grabs a whole bottle of wine after a heated argument with his wife.
- Ass Shove: He gets a knife from Chucky up his rectum.
- Cruel and Unusual Death: Apparently, Chucky kills Nathan by plunging a knife up his posterior from right directly below his seat.
- Henpecked Husband: Michelle expects him to sit quietly and let her make all the big decisions as mayor.
- Inexplicably Identical Individuals: He shares the same actor as Dr. Foley.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Although also blaming Lexy for their house burning down and Caroline being put in a coma, he disagrees with how Michelle is treating Lexy for it by pointing out that she's suffering just as much as they are.
- You Look Familiar: Michael Therriault previously played the pervy Dr. Foley in Cult of Chucky.
Caroline Cross
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Carina Battrick
Lexy's younger sister.- Annoying Younger Sibling: Lexy views her as this, and refers to her as "brat".
- The Apprentice: Thanks to Chucky's manipulations, Caroline ends up evil and becomes his protege.
- Bratty Half-Pint: She's a young girl who throws fits whenever she wants something.
- Child Prodigy: She is able to draw a very detailed drawing of Chucky after only seeing him once for a few minutes. Her parents take note of her talent and are impressed by it.
- Creepy Child: While not as emotionless as some other examples, she definitely counts as this, especially with her nonchalant mood towards her parents’ corpses and her smiling as Chucky is about to attack Tiffany with a knife. In season 3, Tiffany, of all people, calls her a "creepy little girl."
- Enfante Terrible: Thanks to Chucky's manipulations, she ends up becoming this.
- Hates Being Touched: She doesn't like it when other people touch her.
- Meaningful Name: The name Caroline is a feminine diminutive of the name Charles, very fitting for someone who would become obsessed with and later joins sides with someone named Charles.
- Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: Downplayed. She's a child and her parents are fine with her playing brutal Video Games unsupervised (with Chucky complimenting her skills), but dislikes cursing and knows hurting real people is wrong. However, her nonchalance at seeing her mother's mutilated corpse, plus her willingness to align with Tiffany, and later Chucky, shows there truly is something dreadfully wrong about her. It worsens further when she willingly, though indirectly, helps Chucky murder an entire house of people in the third season, and exhibits interest in possibly killing someone herself.
- Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: She develops a fear of dolls after the events of Season 1, so her mother puts her into therapy to help treat her phobia. It turns out to be just an act.
School of the Incarnate Lord
Father Bryce
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Devon Sawa
The headmaster of Incarnate Lord, a Catholic reformatory school.
- Adults Are Useless: Subverted. He's initially portrayed as an incompetent adult figure who, similarly to the Simpsons, Mr. Sullivan, and Colonel Cochrane, dismisses the kids' warnings about Chucky as make-believe. However, upon seeing for himself that Chucky's truly alive and endangering the kids, Bryce, after overcoming some initial disbelief, quickly accepts it as real, doing whatever he can to help the kids and even volunteers to perform an exorcism on Chucky, an attempt which costs him his life.
- Bait-and-Switch: He at first appears to be a draconian Sinister Minister and/or Politically Incorrect Villain, setting him up as a potential Asshole Victim. However, he's ultimately revealed to be Good All Along as well as a closeted homosexual.
- Big Good: Of the second season.
- Dead Star Walking: He's yet another of Sawa's characters on the show to bite it.
- Decoy Protagonist: In the same episode where he is revealed to be Good All Along and a Supporting Protagonist (not to mention being played by The Hero of Final Destination), he ends up possessed by Chucky and turned into Ludicrous Gibs.
- Gayngst: According to Devon Sawa during an interview with Dead Meat, Father Bryce is a closeted homosexual, and is conflicted about his new feelings and his faith, because, in Sawa's words, "He can't be a priest and be a gay man at the same time."
- Good All Along: Although early signs indicate he's a Sinister Minister, Bryce, despite his draconian methods, is ultimately this and becomes one of an ally for the heroes.
- Heroic Sacrifice: He willingly volunteers to take it upon himself to exorcise Chucky and becomes possessed instead before exploding into a bloody mess.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He seems, thus far, to be a pretty decent fellow, who is more than willing to rehabilitate Jake, Devon, and Lexy by using the good word of the Lord and sports metaphors. Despite his strict measures in overseeing the school, he's ultimately an upstanding priest who becomes the heroes' ally after discovering Chucky is indeed real.
- Ludicrous Gibs: Upon becoming possessed by Chucky after his exorcism attempt fails, he promptly explodes into chunks of blood and viscera.
- Noble Bigot: Bryce shows some signs of homophobia upon catching Jake and Devon kissing, but helps them conduct an exorcism once realizing Chucky is real and they're trying to stop him. Partially averted with the reveal that he himself is gay and battling with his own internalized homophobia.
- Only Sane Man: After revealing himself to be Good All Along and becomes another of Jake's allies.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: He's the headmaster of Incarnate Lord and, despite his draconian methods, not only does he permit (albeit reluctantly under Sister Catherine's urging) Lexy and Devon bringing in Andy to have his wounds tend to despite placing the school under lockdown, he ultimately becomes an ally for the heroes in trying to exorcise Chucky.
- Redemption Equals Death: After upholding draconian methods in running the school, he is then revealed to be Good All Along and takes it upon himself to perform an exorcism for the safety of the children, only to end up possessed by Chucky and subsequently explode into bits.
- Sacrificial Lion: After being revealed to be a Good All Along Supporting Protagonist, he is immediately revealed to be a Decoy Protagonist after Chucky possesses him and made him explode.
- Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: After having been excommunicated by the Pope himself for asking if he can conduct an exorcism in the first place, he decides to go rogue, citing his duty to his faith and to the children in his care as he prepares the exorcism against Chucky.
- Shirtless Scene: He has a brief one when he changes shirts in preparation for an exorcism. Jennifer Tilly stated that Don Mancini regretted not having Devon Sawa shirtless in the first season upon noticing how fit he is, so here we are.
- Significant Wardrobe Shift: Once he shows his true colors, Bryce opts out of his normal clergy jacket into donning a longer coat to perform the exorcism of Chucky.
- Small Role, Big Impact: Not as small of a role as most uses of this trope, being a major season 2 character, but the exorcism that kills him is revealed in season 3 to have pissed off Damballa, whose angry response towards Chucky for allowing it drives the killer's actions in season 3.
- Supporting Protagonist: After revealing himself to be Good All Along and an ally for the heroes.
- Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Of Jake's father Lucas and uncle Logan, which is further supported by how all three are portrayed by Sawa. He somewhat disapproves of homosexuality like Lucas, punishing Jake and Devon upon catching them in a tryst. Like Logan, he has a strong interest in athletics and incorporates sports metaphors in his speeches.
- You Look Familiar: In-Universe. Jake says he reminds him of his father, who was also played by Sawa.
Sister Ruth
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Lara Jean Chorostecki
The abbess at Incarnate Lord serving under Father Bryce, who takes an interest in Chucky.
- Asshole Victim: She's one of Chucky's willing accomplices and gets an Eye Scream courtesy of Glenda.
- Cloudcuckoolander: Upon first laying eyes on the Chucky doll sent to Incarnate Lord, she claims to see the image of God in his face. Her superior Sister Elizabeth comments that she also saw it in a taco previously.
- Co-Dragons: With Dr. Mixter in the second season, for Chucky.
- The Dragon: She becomes one for Chucky during the second season, after witnessing Buff Chucky rise from the dead and taking it as further "proof" that he's God.
- Eye Scream: Glenda throws a dagger at her that lands directly into her eye. It doesn't immediately kill her as she's alive enough to grasp at the knife, pulling it (and her eye) out before she dies.
- Face–Heel Turn: As Chucky's henchwoman.
- Nun Too Holy: She becomes one of Chucky's allies.
Sister Catherine
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Andrea Carter
A nun at the Catholic reformatory school, Incarnate Lord.
- The Confidant: She is the school confidant for most things: whether it be dealing with the many suspicious deaths happening at Incarnate Lord, providing a sounding board for the kids to discuss their troubles freely, or helping Bryce reconcile with his closeted homosexuality during confession.
- Number Two: She seems to be second in command of Incarnate Lord.
The White House
President James Collins
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Devon Sawa
The current President of the United States of America.
- Actor Allusion: This isn't Devon Sawa's first horror project where his character smokes pot through a bong.
- Big Good: Closest there is to one in the third season due to him being the President of the United States.
- Dead Star Walking: He's yet another of Sawa's characters on the show to bite it.
- Decoy Protagonist: Once again for Sawa's character after all that build up, he ends up getting his eyes gouged out.
- Eye Scream: He gets his eyes gouged and ripped out by Chucky.
- Our Presidents Are Different: Unlike past presidents of the United States, James is an Independent who managed to get elected.
- Outliving One's Offspring: He and his wife have a deceased son named Joseph.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: He is a Benevolent Boss to his staff and pushed for transparency to earn the trust of the people.
- Supporting Protagonist: He appears to be building up to be one of the third season, especially unlike Sawa's previous characters on the show, he actually begins to actively investigate himself the mysterious occurrences going on since his son Henry's new doll came into their lives rather than sit back and focus on other things while Locked Out of the Loop.
- Sympathetic Adulterer: He cheated on his wife in the past, who found out but has Easily Forgiven him for it. Now, he presides over the White House as a personal means of being The Atoner.
First Lady Charlotte Collins
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Lara Jean Chorostecki
The First Lady, Wife of James Collins and the mother of Henry and Grant.
- Outliving One's Offspring: She and her husband have a deceased son named Joseph.
Henry Collins
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Callum Vinson
Grant's younger brother.
- Foil: To Caroline Cross. Both are young kids that have older teenage siblings who are both used by Chucky. But while Henry is shown to be a genuinely good kid who is dealing with the grief of losing his brother and is to be close with his brother Grant, Caroline is an Enfant Terrible who becomes evil due to Chucky's manipulations and does not get along well with her sister.
- Suspiciously Similar Substitute: As a young boy who develops an attachment to Chucky, he's one of Child's Play (1988)-era Andy Barclay.
Grant Collins
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Jackson Kelly
The President's teenage son and the older brother of Henry.
- Big Brother Instinct: Grant is shown to care about his brother Henry and was also devastated by the passing of his brother Joseph.
- Ship Tease: With Lexy.
Other Characters
Kim Evans
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Rachelle Casseus
Devon's mother and a Hackensack detective.- Adults Are Useless: She was Locked Out of the Loop of Chucky's existence and his misdeeds, and quickly bites it after she finds out..
- Heel–Face Door-Slam: Moments after she accepts that Jake isn't responsible for the recent killing spree and his relationship with her son, Chucky kills her.
- Heteronormative Crusader: It's implied she started out as a Bigot with a Badge as she pegged the gay Jake as a murder suspect the first chance she's got. However, she gets over this after accepting her son coming out of the closet and that Jake is innocent.
- Inspector Javert: Detective Evans firmly believes Jake is responsible for the recent string of murders that have rocked Hackensack, thus expending most of her time and police resources investigating him.
- Neck Snap: She suffers this after a scuffle with Chucky sends her falling down the stairs, killing her.
- Noble Bigot with a Badge: It's possible the reason why she immediately pegged Jake as a top murder suspect is likely out of homophobia, which is likewise common social trait amongst the Hackensack community and even before murders Jake was afraid how would she react towards her son being his crush, however, after Devon's convincing, she accepts her son's relationship with Jake and that he's not a suspect.
- Police Are Useless: Goes hand in hand with Adults Are Useless and Inspector Javert. After her hunch that Jake is responsible is refuted, she promptly arrests Miss Fairchild based on flimsy, circumstantial evidence planted by Chucky.
- Staircase Tumble: How Chucky decides to do her in.
Oliver Hayden
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Avery Esteves
Jake's classmate and bully at Perry Middle School.- Asshole Victim: Heavily downplayed compared to other examples in the show like Lucas and Logan. Although he was The Bully to Jake, Oliver's behavior certainly paled in comparison to what Lucas would dish out to his son. Jake himself felt that no matter how badly Oliver treated him, it certainly didn't warrant Chucky stabbing him multiple times to death.
- Death of a Child: While Chucky has previously shown zero qualms about killing children (given his many attempts to murder Andy in his youth, in addition to being indirectly responsible for Alice's death in Cult by possessing her, then getting killed in her body offscreen), Oliver is the first kid he's shown killing onscreen.
- Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Oliver, despite bullying Jake alongside Lexy and Junior, shows he seemingly isn't all that bad by offering Jake his condolences after his father's death, also inviting him to his Halloween party as an olive branch. Then at the party, he locks Jake and Devon in the closet as part of a sick prank and later on laughs at Lexy mimicking Jake's father's death.
Rachel Fairchild
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Annie Briggs
The science teacher at Perry Middle School who sympathizes with Jake.- Cool Teacher: In stark contrast to previous Sadist or Apathetic Teachers in the franchise (like Miss Kettlewell or Kent's faculty), she cares about her students' academic and emotional well-being. She tries to allay Jake's distress when he has qualms about dissecting a frog, and later gives Lexy detention upon learning about her cruel prank on him.
- Decoy Protagonist: She initially is set up as an adult Supporting Protagonist for the series before getting killed off in the third season's second episode.
- Fall Girl: Chucky frames her for the murders that have occurred up until Principal McVey. It doesn't take, since she's seen in the finale free while temporarily looking after Jake and Devon.
- Meaningful Name: Fairchild is appropriate for a teacher who's good to her students, especially when past teachers in the franchise are shown to be unpleasant assholes.
- Parental Substitute: She serves as one for the trio, providing them a home and caring for them in between Michelle's death and her own.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: She punishes Lexy with detention immediately upon learning she's bullying Jake and stays firm even as Lexy threatens to have her parents sue the school in retaliation, going as far as bringing over Principal McVey so Lexy can repeat it to their faces.
- Sinister Suffocation: Chucky smothers her to death with the United States flag.
- Sudden Sequel Death Syndrome: She survives the previous two seasons, only to die in the third one.
- Too Good for This Sinful Earth: She's one of the few competent and genuinely good-natured adults in the franchise and a Parental Substitute to the main trio, who ends up getting strangled by Chucky.
- Undying Loyalty: To the kids. She knows that confronting Chucky is a risky and practically suicidal mission, but refuses to let them handle it alone and accompanies them even if it results in her death – which it does.
- Whatever Happened to the Mouse?: She's nowhere to be found in Season 2, with Jake and Devon now placed in foster care under separate families. She later comes Back for the Finale of the season.
Megan McVey
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Jana Peck
The principal of Perry Middle School.- Decapitation Presentation: Chucky tosses her head out for everybody to see midway through a town hall meeting in the school auditorium, then raises the curtains to expose the rest of her body.
- Off with Her Head!: How Chucky kills her.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Although not as prominent as Miss Fairchild, she's also this. When a video of Lexy dressing up as Jake's father and imitating his death goes viral, she immediately brings Lexy's parents in and makes it clear to them that their daughter's stunt is unacceptable.
Hackensack Slasher
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Christopher Cordell
An active serial killer who was around during the 1960s.- Greater-Scope Villain: The true one for Chucky, not Damballa as initially thought, as his notoriety as a serial killer actually garnered Hero Worship from Chucky, who would later follow in his footsteps as the Lakeshore Strangler upon coming of age.
- Karma Houdini: No mention was made of him ever being caught for his crimes.
- Only Known by Their Nickname: Whatever his real name was, we certainly ain't gonna learn now.
- Serial Killer: One who Chucky’s father and had served as a Villain of Another Story who went on a killing spree that led to the whole franchise coming into play.
- Villain of Another Story: He was committing his own spree of killings back then.
- Villain Respect: He gives Chucky encouragement and advice after approving of his first murder.
Dr. Mixter (Unmarked Spoilers)
Dr. Amanda Mixter
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Rosemary Dunsmore
A therapist who works with Bree Wheeler in the first season and the Cross family in the second season who has a connection to Chucky.- Asshole Victim: For effectively creating Chucky as we know him, it's hard to feel sad when she gets blown away in Chucky's body by Andy.
- Chekhov's Gunwoman: Briefly popping up in the first season as Bree's therapist and is apparently a one-off character at first, she returns in the second season as Caroline's therapist helping treat her new fear of dolls. Later, she appears at Incarnate Lord to allegedly help Father Bryce in handling the sinister occurrences that have recently taken place there. Then, she's revealed to have a major part in Chucky's backstory and as his accomplice in the present day.
- Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: As Chucky's henchwoman, she's this to Tiffany Valentine. Both of them are murderous women who had significant roles in Chucky's life, Dr. Mixter as his child psychologist and Tiffany as his adult lover. Both willingly and happily aided him in his schemes, which at times included killing people. Tiffany's relationship with Chucky, however, degraded over time, to the point each tried to betray and murder the other during various moments. Dr. Mixter, meanwhile, stayed loyal to Chucky for decades until he felt she wasn't useful anymore, promptly setting her up to take the fall at Incarnate Lord by swapping bodies with her. The way which they present themselves to people also differ. While Tiffany tried steering clear of suspicion by taking the body and fame of Jennifer Tilly, Dr. Mixter remained under the radar for years as another therapist. Lastly, Tiffany's Large Ham persona contrast heavily with Dr. Mixter's Cold Ham diction.
- Corrupted Character Copy: She's one of Dr. Samuel Loomis from the Halloween films. Dr. Loomis spent eight years trying to reach his patient Michael Myers, before eventually accepting there was nothing salvageable within Michael. Meanwhile, Dr. Mixter was aware that Charles had a shred of humanity left in him but decided to stamp it out due to boredom, making her more closely resemble Dr. Terrence Wynn or Dr. Ranbir Sartain.
- Co-Dragons: With Sister Ruth, for Chucky.
- The Dragon: She, along with Sister Ruth, is this for Chucky in the second season, replacing Tiffany.
- Et Tu, Brute?: Despite her decades of loyalty to him and aiding him in his plans, Chucky forces her to switch bodies with him so she can die in his place.
- Evil Old Folks: Considering she was Charles Lee Ray's psychologist when he was a child around 60 years ago and the fact that it takes about 8-12 years to become a psychologist, she would probably have to be at least pushing 90.
- Greater-Scope Villain: One just behind the Hackensack Slasher last season. By corrupting Chucky as a child and motivating him into becoming a killer, she's essentially responsible for the events of the whole franchise.
- Karmic Death: After having spent decades mentoring Chucky, she's forced to switch bodies with him and dies as an unwitting decoy.
- Psycho Psychologist: She's revealed to be this in "He is Risen, Indeed". She was Charles Lee Ray's therapist when he was a kid and admits that she saw good in him once, but found it boring and decided to completely "stamp it out" of him. That’s right, she pretty much molded Chucky into the monster he became just because she was bored.
- Undying Loyalty: To Chucky.
- Walking Spoiler: Much like Tiffany Valentine, Dr. Mixter contributed greatly towards Chucky turning into the monster he later became.
Dr. Rosen
Dr. Raphael Rosen
Debut: Chucky (2021)
Portrayed by: Richard Waugh
A witch doctor Chucky consults for assistance.- Affably Evil: He's a witch doctor who doesn't hesitate to suggest murder for patients who are just as (if not even more) evil as he is, but it doesn't stop him from being accommodating and polite when talking to them. He even gives Jake and Devon information on Chucky's current state when they consult him for answers.
- Even Evil Has Standards: He helps Jake and Devon when they tell him about Chucky having murdered their loved ones in the past.
- Mr. Exposition: He notifies Chucky that he's on his final life and at risk of dying permanently because Damballa has abandoned him after being involved in the previous season's exorcism, and suggests a means to possibly regain the voodoo god's approval via a particularly evil spell involving mass murder.
- Noble Demon: A loyal practitioner of voodoo and a follower of Damballa he may be, but he isn't utterly bereft of morality or scruples either. He's visibly affected when Jake and Devon tell him about all of their loved ones they lost because of Chucky, and breaks his discretion about his former patient's condition to aid them.
- Punch-Clock Villain: Being a witch doctor, with all of the dark magic and murder it entails, just seems to be a typical job for him as part of the daily grind.
- Seen It All: He's completely unfazed by the sight of a talking doll, although it's justified because he's a witch doctor and Chucky probably is one of many bizarre phenomena he's previously witnessed.
- Small Role, Big Impact: Despite his limited number of appearances, Dr. Rosen informing Chucky that Damballa has disowned him, and that he has limited time left before dying for good, instigates his plot in the third season as Chucky tries to kill his way back into the voodoo god's good graces.
- They Look Just Like Everyone Else!: He doesn't look like a clichéd practitioner of voodoo and dark magic like John "Dr. Death" Bishop, who had past run-ins with the law and a notable rap sheet. His nondescript nature and the banal appearance of his shady "medical practice", however, does well at disguising his amorality.
- Witch Doctor: Though he doesn't resemble most examples, as he looks like an ordinary doctor with a normal-looking office who nonetheless specializes in handling voodoo-related cases. When Chucky lampshades this, he sarcastically replies he'll remember to bring his chickens and goats next time.
