Vieg

Voiced by: Hiroaki Hirata

The main character of the game. Vieg is a young member of the Royal Talons, a group of elite guards. He is married to Vahti, the daughter of Olgar and Rachel.

  • Can't Drop the Hero: In Extra Mode, you can choose Vahti or Dante to accompany Vieg (or rather Olgar) in battle; Olgar himself cannot be removed from the party.
  • Facial Markings: Vieg paints his face with Dante's facial markings after taking on the title Olgar.

Vahti

Voiced by: Ayano Niina

Vieg's heavily pregnant wife, and the daughter of Rachel and Olgar.

Olgar

Voiced by: Tesshō Genda

Vieg's father figure and Vahti's father. He is the captain of the Royal Talons. The captain receives the name "Olgar" as a title, his true name is Dante.

  • Big Damn Heroes: Shows up just in time to save Vieg from Yorath.
  • Body Horror: The monster made by Cyllis by mashing him with Rachel.
  • Determinator: So much so that he is able to defeat Yorath, a far superior fighter through sheer determination and willpower, while enduring smoldering heat.
Olgar: I swore I would never lose again.
  • Duel Boss: He fights Vieg one-on-one in the Ark Arena after the first two dungeons.
  • Foregone Conclusion: If you played the original game, you already know he's going to die somehow.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Dies in order to save Vieg, Vahti, and Ohm.
  • Legacy Character: "Olgar" is a title passed down when the incumbent one dies.
  • Palette Swap: Of Vieg, or the Olgar from the original game.
  • Papa Wolf: Do not threaten this man's surrogate son, daughter, or grandson. It's bad for your health.

Rachel

Voiced by: Atsuko Tanaka

Olgar's wife and the mother of Vahti.

  • Body Horror: The monster made by Cyllis by mashing her with Olgar/Dante.
  • Foregone Conclusion: If you played the original game, you already know she's going to die somehow.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: Her outfit has a gap in the middle that exposes her cleavage and midriff.

Ayuta

Voiced by: Nobuhiko Okamoto

A noble from an Eastern kingdom who is deeply distrustful of the other characters. Kushina is his childhood friend, but their class difference prevents them from being anything more.

  • Foregone Conclusion: If you played the original game, you already know his love interest is going to die, and he's going into cold sleep for 10,000 years to do this all over again.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: With Kushina. Seems to be a habit of his.

Kushina

Voiced by: Minako Kotobuki

A commoner from Ayuta's country. She is in love with Ayuta, but their social differences prevent her from acting on it.

Cyllis

Voiced by: Aki Toyosaki

A pretty woman from an unknown country, who is very friendly towards the other characters, much to Yorath's chagrin. She's actually the woman who was intended to be half of the very first First Couple, alongside Ayuta, but he chose Theia over her. So she was instead hooked up to the Arc systems to create the Congloms, the monsters you fight inside the arena.

  • Combat Hand Fan: She uses bladed fans to fight.
  • Dual Boss: Cyllis is fought alongside Yorath when you first enter the Conglom Plant (although only Cyllis needs to be defeated in order to win the fight).
  • Limp and Livid: Her fighting stance.
  • Mother of a Thousand Young: Cyllis is the mother of all of the monsters fought by the Ark Arena contestants in the dungeons.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: Her outfit is slit open, from her neck to her waist.
  • One-Winged Angel: Cyllis is fought in her human form during the first and second fights, but for the third one she takes on the form of Cyllis the Progenitor, a giant robot.
  • Palette Swap: Cyllis' form as Cyllis the Progenitor bears a strong resemblance to that of the Almighty from the first game, with different colours and patterns on her body.
  • Recurring Boss: Cyllis is fought a total of three times during the story: the first time after you enter the Conglom Plant, the second when you reach the end of the Conglom Plant, and the third as the game's Final Boss.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: And your first clue that she is not what she seems.
  • Time-Limit Boss: You only have 10 turns to defeat Cyllis during her third boss battle, though this should be more than enough.

Yorath

Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai

A handsome young man who is hostile towards the other characters. He is actually a Conglom created by Cyllis, made from genetic samples of all the Ark Arena participants.

  • Artificial Human: Despite his appearance, Yorath is actually no human, but a Conglom created by Cyllis for the purpose of defeating the Qualia.
  • Dual Boss: Yorath is fought alongside Cyllis when you first enter the Conglom Plant (although only Cyllis needs to be defeated in order to win the fight).
  • Duel Boss: The second and third battles against Yorath are fought with Vieg and Olgar alone, respectively.
  • Eyes Always Shut: His eyes are always closed.
  • Foregone Victory: It is impossible to lose the third fight against Yorath, since Olgar cannot be dropped under 1 HP, even with Yorath's One-Hit Kill Divine Diversion ability.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: The second fight against Yorath will inevitably end when he uses his Divine Diversion ability to instantly knock Vieg out.
  • One-Hit Kill: In his second fight with Vieg, his Divine Diversion ability will instantly cause a blowout. It's not until you learn Intuit (Divine Diversion) that you are able to defeat him.
  • Recurring Boss: Yorath appears in a total of four boss fights across the main game. The first time, he's fought with Cyllis, but only Cyllis needs to be defeated; the second and third fights are scripted; and the fourth is a proper boss fight.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: His entire reason for being is to please his mother by defeating the Qualia.

The Agent

Voiced by: Tomoyuki Kono

The creature who runs the Ark Arena. He greets the summoned participants and informs them of the rules.

  • Cutscene Boss: Cyllis defeats him once and for all in a cutscene.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: At the beginning of the game, when Vieg and Olgar try to refuse participating in the tournament, they'll have to fight the Agent, a fight which they have no chance to win.

The Executioner

The enforcer for the Arena, the Executioner finishes off contestants that refuse to follow the rules.

Voiced by: Chie Kojiro

A strange and perverted little being that runs the shop on the Ark. Actually Alexander Piulitzer, the creator of the Ark and the scientific mind behind most of it.
