Underworld

     Rouge Bellerose AKA Sapphire Lilidew 

Debut: Cerberus High:Another Story Chapter 1

“It seems like I’ve become a bad omen…”
The alternate universe version of the melancholic demoness of the first story. She and her mother Blair assume different identities to avoid being targeted after Casimir is stripped of his archdemonhood.
  • Berserk Button: If she catches you disrespecting her father expect to get a box cutter pulled on you.
  • Broken Bird: Rouge/Sapphire is broken much earlier in this installment.
  • Decoy Protagonist: Was treated like the book's protagonist until her death, which causes Eden to take up her protagonist role.
  • Died in Your Arms Tonight: Died in Eden's arms.
  • Driven to Suicide: Rouge commits suicide by slitting her own throat with a pocket knife after being convinced that she is the cause of everything bad happening in the world.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: An underaged example. Rouge turns to the bottle in order to deal with living on her own.
  • Dye or Die: Rouge had to have her black hair dyed blond because her mother feared that the archdemons would target them for Casimir's misdeeds.
  • Ice Queen: So much so that that’s even her nickname around the school.
  • Icy Blue Eyes: Her eyes are described to be gray but with her blue color motif and title as the Ice Queen, this is a fitting trope.
  • The Jinx: Believes herself to be one.
  • Ojou Ringlets
  • Pinky Swear: Shared one with her father Casimir before she and her mother left her. It was to reassure her that everything would be alright.
  • Riches to Rags: Rouge becomes a normal girl after being forced to abandon her lavish life with her father in their family mansion and starts attending a modest school.
  • Secret Identity: To start a new life away from her father, Rouge becomes a blond by the name of Sapphire Lilidew.
  • Significant Anagram: The last name of Rouge's alias Lilidew is an anagram of " will die" making it " Sapphire Will Die" unscrambled.
  • You Can't Fight Fate: Rouge is fated to die no at the age of fifteen matter what name she decides to go under.

“Hold up! I understand your hatred for the archdemons. Trust me, I hate their guts too, but with all this murder you're no better than the Grand Archdemon Uriel!”

Eden Blumenthal is a classmate of Rouge's after she adopted the moniker Sapphire Lilidew. He harbors disdain for all the archdemons and their descendants due to them possessing a "rotten heart".


  • An Arm and a Leg:
    • Requiem cuts off Eden's left arm containing Cerberus during their first fight.
    • In Eden and Requiem's second and final battle, Eden loses the rest of his limbs after breaking free from the stone zombies which held onto him.
  • Anime Hair: Eden's hair is similar to Ran Mouri's from Detective Conan
  • Artificial Limbs: Eden's artificial left hand, which he acquires consuming Adam's heart, is made up of magical white circuits.
  • Battle Aura: After acquiring Adam's White Onyx Blade, Eden is enveloped by a white aura whenever in battle.
  • BFS: When he acquires Adam's Eternal Onyx Blade it appears as a large fountain pen.
  • By The Power Of Gray Skull: “WITH THE POWER OF ADAM AND MY HADES: RAGING BLOOD BURST, I WILL OVERWRITE THIS PAIN!!!”

  • Cannibalism Superpower: Acquires an evolved version of Adam Eternal Onyx Blade by consuming his heart.
  • Chaste Hero: Never saw the appeal of women until meeting Elysium Rouge.
  • Childhood Friends: With Colombe.
  • Cosmic Retcon: With the combined power of Adam's White Onyx Blade and Kazuki's Hades: Raging Blood Burst, Eden erases Requiem's existence and undoes all the damage he caused in the Underworld.
  • Deader than Dead: With his existence erased, you won't be expecting Eden to return anytime soon.
  • Died in Your Arms Tonight/Lap Pillow: Eden spends his final moments before disappearing forever with his head rested on Elysium Rouge's lap.
  • Disappeared Dad: Eden's biological father AKA Vincent vanished when he was a very young infant, leaving Eden mother's to take care of him all by herself.
  • Don't You Dare Pity Me!: Eden pushes Elysium Rouge away when she tries to comfort him after he learns about the deaths of all his family and friends.
  • Ear Ache: Eden’s eardrums burst after being subjected to auditory torture, resulting in him becoming deaf.
  • Emotional Powers: Like Kazuki, Eden's Raging Burst is at its strongest when his blood boils.
  • Eye Color Change: His eyes flash white just before defeating Requiem.
  • Fading Away: Eden’s death has him fading away starting from what was left of his feet.
  • Flower Motifs: While Rouge is a rose, Eden represents the whole garden.
  • Hellish Pupils: Has these to show that he is related to Vincent and Neia.
  • Hot-Blooded
  • Intangible Time Travel: In Chapter 9 Eden is transported fifteen years into the future where he witnesses the fight between Kazuki and Neo. This is when Eden has the shocking realization that the site of their battle is his own hometown. Rouge appears beside him and explains that he is invisible to Kazuki and the rest. Even so, Eden can't but cry out when Kazuki is stabbed by Neo's ESP!
  • It's All My Fault: Blames himself immensely for Sapphire's suicide.
  • Jerkass: Starts out as one. See Knight in Sour Armor below.
  • Knight in Sour Armor: Eden starts out as a delinquent with a nasty attitude but learns the meaning of compassion when he is ordered to take out a group of people who harbor the same hatred of archdemons as him.
  • Last Request: Before his death, Eden requested to be kissed by Elysium Rouge as it would be his first.
  • Long-Lost Relative: One of the things that Eden learns from getting a visual recap of the first book's Underworld Arc is that Neo is technically his younger half-brother, making Eden Neia's older half-brother.
  • Make Them Rot: The Hades! Blood Burst ability that he borrowed from Kazuki.
  • Meaningful Name: His surname is German for "flower valley".
  • No Indoor Voice: Eden's lines are often written in all caps even when the situation doesn't call for it.
  • "No. Just… No" Reaction: When Elysium Rouge orders him to consume Adam's heart.
Eden: Nope, nope. Can’t don’t it. Sorry.
  • The Nose Knows: According to him, Eden has the ability to sniff out the rotten hearts of all the archdemons and their descendants. This is revealed to be an ability that was passed down by his biological father Vincent.
  • Ominous Adversarial Amusement: When Requiem tells Eden that it's impossible to kill him Eden laughs after remembering that he has just the ability to defeat someone who is immortal.
  • Perverted Sniffing: Eden to Sapphire in Chapter 2. Wasn't really perverted on Eden's part as he was just using his ability to check if she had a rotten heart. However, his remark about her smelling like roses is a bit creepy.
  • Phantom Limb Pain: Eden experiences pain where his left arm would've been when he wakes up in Elysium. He uses this phantom pain to prove to Rouge that even though he is in Elysium, he is far from dead and can still fight.
  • Punch a Wall: After learning of his suspension, Eden takes out his anger on a wall.
  • Religious and Mythological Theme Naming: Eden's name is a reference to the Biblical Garden of Eden.
  • Seeing Through Another's Eyes: When he first arrives in Kazuki's Forever-Still Space, he sees a vision of Rouge's final moments in the Kazu-verse through Casimir's eyes.
    • Also hen he is made to relive Kazuki's memories.
  • See You in Hell: Delivers something along these lines to Requiem before erasing his existence.
Eden: Get that ’mister’ shit erased from your memory cuz the name’s Eden Blumenthal. I want you to remember it well because that’s the only thing you'll remember when you become just a speck of nothingness like me!
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: Holds the title of the character that swears the most in the entire series.
  • Special Odd Hand: The Mark of the Beast he gets on his left hand is used to communicate with Cerberus and enter Kazuki’s Forever-Still Space.
  • The Speechless: Becomes mute after being shot in the throat by Requiem’s Breacher Palm.
  • Stalker without a Crush: Eden is shown to have been stalking Rouge in Chapter 7 after her heart became rotten.
  • Taken for Granite: When the zombies restraining Eden become petrified on Requiem's command, Eden's remaining limbs turn to stone as well. Eden breaks free at the cost of becoming a quadruple amputee.
  • Telepathy: How he communicates with Elysium Rouge after becoming deaf and mute
  • There Is Another: When it is revealed to Eden that his sister Neia survived the universe reset, he is given the courage to right all of Requiem's wrongs.
  • Tron Lines: His artificial arm that he gains when he materializes his Eternal White Onyx Blade is made of white circuits.
  • Unpleasant Parent Reveal: Eden isn't pleased to learn that his father was a crazy cult leader who orchestrated Rouge's death in an alternate universe.
  • Waking Up Elsewhere: Eden wakes up in Elysium inside a glass coffin after Rouge saves him from begin wiped out by the universe reset.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Was averse to the idea of fighting Requiem but all that changed when seeing all the damage that Requiem’s caused.
  • Verbal Tic: Eden has a verbal tic that makes him end his sentences with "yanno" whenever he gets partially expressive.

     Colombe Dreamcatcher 

Debut: Cerberus High:Another Story Chapter 2

“That Eden is a blockhead. Please don’t let his words get to you,”
Colombe is another classmate of Rouge and is the childhood friend of Eden Blumenthal.
  • A-Cup Angst: In Chapter 5, Colombe is shown to get defensive when Eden mentions her stuffing her bra.
Eden: Took you long enough.
Colombe: (giggles) Never rush a lady, Eden.
Eden: I wouldn’t call you a lady…
Colombe: What was that?! I’ll have you know, I jumped up two cup sizes overnight! (puffs out her chest)
Colombe: Hey! That’s not funny, Eden!
Eden: Yeah, whatever. Let’s just go. (walks ahead of her)
  • Animal Theme Naming: Her name is French for Dove.
  • Childhood Friends: With Eden.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Brown hair and brown eyes.
  • Deader than Dead: Much like Eden and the rest of the people in their town.
  • Love Doodles: In Chapter 11, Colombe is seen in class drawing a picture of Eden.
  • Love Epiphany: Colombes begins to harbor strange feelings for Eden in Chapter 5 and six chapters later, she realizes that strange feeling is love.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Wears her hair in high twin-tails.
  • Ret-Gone: Colombe is wiped out like the rest of her town's population after Requiem resets the universe.
  • Shy Finger-Twiddling: Does this when her feelings for Eden begin to bud in Chapter 5.
  • Tsundere: Colombe's demeanor has always been this way, even before she realized she was infatuated with Eden.

Viscera Purgers

     Requiem 

Debut: Cerberus High:Another Story Chapter 4

“Eliminating those pests is the first step to bettering this world!”
The Big Bad of this series. He is the alternate universe counterpart of Rey who became the second-generation head of the Viscera Purgers instead of Neo/Neia.
Baddie Flattery: Compliments Eden on his new Eternal White Onyx Blade during their second fight when they're in a Blade Lock.
Requiem: Love the new weapon, mister! Way better than that little black marble!
Requiem: OI, I ASKED YOU A QUESTION. WHAT. THE. FUCK. IS SO FUNNY?!
  • Only One Name
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: In this universe, Rey's (or should we say Requiem's) eyes are blood red. They become their normal blue hue when he is reincarnated by Eden.
  • Reincarnation: Instead of erasing his existence along with his wrongdoings, Eden reincarnates Requiem in the end, ensuring that the small imp will love and be loved.
  • Restart the World: After Vincent passed him the torch, Requiem made it his goal to purify the world and make a sanctuary his people could live happily in. He succeeds in this.
  • Self-Harm: During his final battle with Eden, Requiem repeatedly stabs himself with his own ESP to demonstrate his own immortality.
  • Time Stans Still: Like his predecessor Vincent, Requiem is able to put up stasis fields.
  • Tron Lines: When his Breacher Palm is activated, Requiem gains circuits that go up to his arm.
  • Your Head A-Splode: Requiem's head is blown clean off by Eden's Zipping Burst during their first fight.

     Neia Delyth Edwards 

Debut: Cerberus High:Another Story Chapter 4

The alternate universe counterpart of Neo D. Fowler.
  • And I Must Scream/Transflormation: In Requiem's utopia, Neia becomes fused with the Tree of Life along with Lita and Akuji. They are shown to be still conscious the whole time that they are in this state.
  • Berserk Button: Neia rarely shows emotion but hurt Lita in any way, she'll hurt you back.
  • Emotionless Girl: Her personality is similar to Neo's when he was her age.
  • Heir Club for Men: Why Requiem had been made the next Viscera Purgers' head instead of her. For this reason, she despises the imp, seeing herself as a better fit for the title.
  • Long-Lost Relative: She is Eden's younger half-sister. Although she is never told, the look of recognition that crosses Neia's face when their eyes met for the first is a sign that something clicked.
  • Hellish Pupils: A rare demon trait that she shares with her father Vincent and older half-brother Eden.
  • Off with Her Head!!: Decapitated by Requiem’s Ephemeral Platinum Saber before he reset the universe.
  • Stoic Spectacles

     Lita 

Debut: Cerberus High:Another Story Chapter 4

The Alternate Universe version of the character of the same name.
  • And I Must Scream/Transflormation: In Requiem's utopia, Lita becomes fused with the Tree of Life along with Neia and Akuji. They are shown to be still conscious the whole time that they are in this state.
  • Girlish Pigtails: As a ten-year-old, Lita wears her hair in low twin-tails.
  • The Glasses Gotta Go: Lita says this to Neia when the gray-haired demoness is tying on the clothes she bought.
  • Motor Mouth: Neia notes that Lita can become quite the motor-mouth when given the chance to open up.
  • Only One Name
  • Token Good Teammate: Like her Kazu-verse counterpart, Lita is mostly unaware of all the dark happenings within the organization.

     Akuji 

Debut: Cerberus High:Another Story Chapter 4

“I’m making voodoo dolls of Neia and Lita. They’re just about done. I just need something to use for Neia’s glasses and those cootie-infested freaks would have their necks rung out like a rag!”
The Alternate Universe version of the character of the same name.
  • And I Must Scream/Transflormation: In Requiem's utopia, Akuji becomes fused with the Tree of Life along with Neia and Lita. Akuji is shown to be still conscious the whole time he is in the Tree of Light. They are shown to be still conscious the whole time that they are in this state.
  • Girls Have Cooties: Despises the girls of the organization so much that he constructs voodoo dolls in their likeness. He even calls them 'cootie-infested freaks'.
  • Only One Name
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning
  • Voodoo Doll: In Chapter 6, Requiem catches Akuji in the process of making voodoo dolls of Neia and Lita.

     Cerberus 

Debut: Cerberus High:Another Story Chapter 8

“I am the Cerberus Beast. That Mark of the Beast brand on your arm had brought you to this Forever-Still Space.”
Hades's prize pet returns play a major role in this part as an ally of Eden. Cerberus possesses a body similar to Kazuki Akai'swhen he channeled the beast in his fight with Neo.
  • Canis Major: In his dog form, Cerberus is depicted as very large.
  • Destroy the Evidence/Shoot the Dog: Cerberus destroys Adam's journal to avoid Eden leaking the truth shows the true shadiness of Hades and his archdemons.
  • Hellhound
  • Human Disguise: Cerberus binds himself to Rouge's Forever-Still Space in the body evocative of Kazuki Akai's Cerberus form in order to speak with Eden.
  • Psychopomp: The majority of those who die in the Underworld have their souls eaten by the Cerberus Beast
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Disappears from the story after Eden has his arm amputated.

     Grand Archdemon Uriel 
Uriel was the first-ever archdemon to grace The Underworld according to the history books. He was the right-hand man of Hades when the demonic deity still possessed a body of his own.
  • Love Makes You Evil/Yandere: Uriel's genocide of the original tribe of imps was a result of his maddening need to protect Hades.
  • Number Two: Uriel dedicated his entire life to the service of his creator Hades.
  • Posthumous Character: Most likely died of old age.
  • Power Parasite: Uriel kills Prodryas Persephone and forces her heart inside himself to gains her Eternal Onyx Blade.

     Prodryas Persephone 
Prodryas Persephone is a Posthumous Character. She was the first wielder of the Eternal Onyx Blade and the chief of the primordial tribe of imps.

     Adam 
Adam is a Posthumous Character. was the right-hand man of Prodryas Persephone.
