Celestial Warriors

Usagi Tsukino - Celestial Warrior Moon
"Moon Blade Boomerang!"

She is the main protagonist of the fanfic Celestial Warrior Moon. Her civilian identity is Usagi Tsukino, lazy, easy-going, crybaby of a girl who frequently suffers from bad grade and hopeless crushes. Though she is the second girl to be Awakened by the Keepers, she is the first to undergo a full Awakening (it's been stated the Minako Aino's transformation into Sailor V is a partial awakening). Over the course of the story, she's been growing from a frightened and self-doubting heroine into a brave warrior of love and justice. This version of Usagi shares traits of both her manga and anime selves.
  • Action Girl: Though a bit of a crybaby, when she puts on the armor, she's gets up close and personal while kicking all kinds of butt.
  • Animal Motifs: Rabbit.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension: Naturally, with Mamoru, who else?
  • Betty and Veronica: Betty to Rei's Veronica.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Mixed with Beware the Silly Ones. Sure, she's a cute, clumsy airhead at times, but threaten innocent lives, and you're just asking for a double-bladed sword to be taken to you.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Has the tendency to do while jumping down from high places in order to take her enemies by surprise.
  • Big Eater: She can eat her weight in food, but all the running around she does keeps her slim.
  • Book Dumb: Yes, but not as bad as her manga and anime selves. It's implied to be more due to laziness than just being dumb.
  • Bratty Teenage Daughter: A wild variation.
  • Break the Cutie: So far, she's broken down from stress related issues no less than three times so far and is showing a lot of signs of PTSD.
  • Butt-Monkey: Not as much as in the anime, but yeah.
  • By the Power of Grayskull!: So far, just one attack requires her to shout its name, and it's her finisher: Moon Blade Boomerang.
  • Daddy's Girl: Her father, Kenji, is very protective, like in all versions of the story.
  • The Ditz: Like always, it ties together with the rest of her personality.
  • The Fool: Rei has not been patient with this attribute.
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: With Shingo, of course.
  • Genki Girl: Not so much now that war induced trauma has started to kick in, but she definitely is this at the beginning of the story.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Very long ones.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Oh, yeah. She's still quite naïve and innocent, and grown to be very empathetic of those in need.
  • Heroes Prefer Swords: Or in this case, a double-bladed one, which can be tossed like a boomerang, resulting in her enemies having twin spinning blades bearing down on them. So far, it's been super effective.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Perhaps even moreso than in the manga and anime.
  • "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: Briefly tries this with Entomon. It doesn't work.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: One of the reasons why Rei isn't comfortable with her being forced into fighting this secret war.
  • Lady of War: Instead of turning into a magical girl dressed in a sailor fuku wielding wands and tiaras as weapons, she turned into a full on masked and armored warrioress armed with a double-bladed sword.
  • Not a Morning Person: Initially, she had just as much trouble getting to school on time as she other incarnations, but stress seems to be giving her sleeping problems, resulting in her waking up early enough to get to school on time.
  • Stepford Smiler: Fast becoming this. She's kept on smiling despite feeling horrible several times.
  • This Loser Is You: She's gentle, compassionate, selfless, and friendly. On the other hand, she's also clumsy, lazy, childish, and spoiled. Her friends and loved ones don't hesitate to lampshade this.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Either, depending on who she's with. Tomboy to Naru, Rei, and Ami's girly girls, but girly to Haruka, Luna, and Makoto's tomboys.
  • Took a Level in Badass:
    • Compare her fights around chapters 8-10 to her fights in 30 and 31. She took several levels.
    • She also took a level in cunning when she decides to spring the Dark Kingdom's trap early at the wedding forcing them on the defensive.
  • Trauma Conga Line: Where to start?!
    • Dark Kingdom arc: So far she's been chased down and nearly mauled to death by an Eldritch Abomination known as The Rake, been lost and alone in a nightmarish Dark World where The Rake was suddenly able to teleport and manipulate the environment to his advantage, been trapped and alone with another Eldritch Abomination called The Beldam in her lair, which was another Dark World Eldritch Location, was nearly decapitated by a particularly nasty monster known as The Face Taker, was almost forced to kill a monster called Entomon, who Was Once a Man, but accidentally allowed him to escape and now has to live with the fact that he will continue to kill and destroy because of that, and now Naru's dating Nephrite. The poor girl can't catch a break and she's seriously starting to crack under the pressure.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Rei, who else?

Makoto Kino - Celestial Warrior Jupiter

Rei Hino - Celestial Warrior Mars

  • Badass Normal: Not exactly normal, but Rei went into the Land of Black Leaves and held her own even before becoming a Warrior.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Her father, a politician trying to end the Masquerade. Also, her grandfather will turn out to be one of the Seven Great Youma, meaning she may have to fight and kill him.
  • Foreshadowing: Even if you aren't familiar with the original Sailor Moon, it becomes obvious in the Land of Black Leaves that she'll turn out to be another Warrior.
  • Playing with Fire: Of course.

Ami Mizuno - Celestial Warrior Mercury
  • Adaptational Badass: Even more than the other Warriors. Where before she couldn’t use magical attacks, she now throws around icicle lances.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: In more than one way. First, it's about 20 chapters between her introduction and her Awakening, so she spends a long time as one of these. Also, she's a Warrior, and her mother is one of the head scientists in charge of ending The Masquerade. There's a lot of tension about what will happen when that secret comes out.
  • Four Is Death: Mercury is the fourth Warrior to fully Awaken, when she's targeted and nearly killed by a naga, and she originally refuses to fight as a Warrior.
  • An Ice Person: And how! One of her basic moves is to shoot icicle spears.
  • Making a Splash: Less so, but still an integral part of her powers.
  • Mundane Utility: Ami uses her handheld (the Mercury computer) to print off homework notes.
  • New Transfer Student: Appears as this in the first Chapter.
  • Refused the Call: It took a while for her to agree to be a Warrior.
  • Teen Genius: She uses up all of her special printer paper for her computer printing class notes, instead of on Warrior business.

Minako Aino - Celestial Warrior Venus

  • Celebrity Superhero: She is the first Celestial Warrior and many of her fellow warriors are fans of hers.
