This page deals with the characters from Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness.
For the other characters, see below:
- Castlevania 64: Actrise, Gilles de Rais, Reinhardt Schneider, Carrie Fernandez
- Castlevania – Dracula: Dracula
A man-beast from a clan of similar individuals who sealed away their transformation ability in order to live alongside humans. Through rigorous training, he managed to regain such abilities. He heads to Dracula's castle to find the ones responsible for kidnapping his "sister" Ada, a survivor from a previous man-beast attack. After a confrontation with his jealous rival, Ortega, he destroys Dracula and saves Ada, but at the cost of his alternate form. A form that is used to revive Dracula again, stronger than ever...
- Always Someone Better: To his rival, Ortega.
- Big Brother Mentor: To Ada, his adoptive sister.
- Blessed with Suck: His wolf form. On the one hand, it makes him far more powerful than he normally is, but on the other hand, he has trouble controlling himself while transformed, and many people assume he's evil even when in control.
- Brought Down to Normal: Dracula extracts his wolf powers so that he can be reborn. Cornell doesn't miss them.
- Bruce Lee Clone: Perhaps it's very subtle if you don't know beforehand (besides, he doesn't make the signature noises), but Cornell was developed as the "close-range martial arts character" originally and still kicks if you leave him standing around for a while. Once you know this bit of trivia, Cornell's design gives off some serious Bruce Lee vibes, with the same haircut and small but toned frame.
- Dark Is Not Evil: He's a werewolf, but unlike most of them in this series, he's firmly on the side of good.
- Defector from Decadence: Seeing his clan wipe out an entire village and leave Ada as the only survivor made Cornell work vigorously to control his beast form for Ada's sake.
- Involuntary Shapeshifting: He gets over it... and eventually loses the ability altogether.
- Red Baron: The "Blue Crescent Moon".
- Super Mode: Changing into his werewolf form enhances his strength until he runs out of jewels.
- Sword Beam: His main attack in Legacy of Darkness, which comes from his claws.
- Wolf Man: His Judgment design kicks this up a notch by making Cornell a wolf knight.
- Wolverine Claws: Comes with the territory of being a man-beast.
- Wonderful Werewolf: His intensive training to control his wolf form has two reasons; disgust with his clan's savagery and a desire to protect his sister.
A young boy who was caught in the middle of Dracula's latest attack when his wealthy family's manor was occupied by vampires. With the blessing of his not-yet-vampirized mother and Cornell's assistance, he managed to escape with his life.
Years later, the forces of evil emerged yet again, abducting children to achieve their unholy goal. Henry decided that he would save the kids in the same way that he himself had been saved. Problem is, he's not a vampire hunter of any particular lineage. Solution? Wear a lot of armor and carry a gun.
- Badass Normal: Unlike all of the other protagonists, Henry has no magic nor anti-vampire weaponry save subweapons nor a history fighting against the forces of darkness. Not that that will stop him from trying!
- Character Narrator: Seves as one for Legacy of Darkness although primarily in the Japanese version.
- Expy Of Judeau from Berserk.
- The Gunslinger: One of his weapons is a six-shot revolver.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Has blonde hair, and goes off to Dracula's castle to save the children kidnapped to empower Dracula.
- Heroes Prefer Swords: Like Reinhardt, for close-range foes.
- Knight in Shining Armor: He certainly looks the part.
- Ship Tease: With Ada in the one scene they share: the epilogue. As such, it's more of a Maybe Ever After.
- Expy: Of Diaz from Hybrid Heaven. Musclebound dark-skinned blonds with Spanish names that bear a grudge against the main characters (Diaz was impersonated by Johnny Slater and had his reputation ruined because of it, Ortega felt that he was always overshadowed by Cornell) and were eventually consumed by their thirst for revenge.
- One-Winged Angel: Turns into a Chimera for his boss fight.
- Panthera Awesome: His man-beast form is that of a were-lion
- Redemption Equals Death: Upon defeat, he realizes that he made a horrible mistake, and helps Cornell one last time before dying.
- The Rival: Who eventually becomes a Rival Turned Evil.
