    Candice
Voiced by: Tara Strong
Basis: Mix of various Porsche models
"Lightning. The only problem you'll have is beating me on my home track."

A princess in all but name racer from Santa Carburera.

  • Alpha Bitch: Spoiled rotten by her father? Check. Cheats to get ahead? Check. Throws a tantrum when she loses? Check.
  • Arc Villain: She's the main opponent Lightning has to face in Santa Carburera.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: She acts sweet and pleasant to her fans, but on the inside, she's a bratty, self-centred diva. When she's about to go shopping after losing to McQueen, she dismisses her fans as "parasites".
  • Co-Dragons: Alongside El Machismo and Stinger, she's one of Chick's main protégé that Lightning has to beat to win the Race-O-Rama series.
  • Daddy's Girl: She's spoiled rotten by her father, and she affectionately refers to him as "Daddy" in return (after angrily demanding new parts from him first).
  • Evil Counterpart: To Sally, who is absent in Race-O-Rama. They're both Porsches, but while Sally is a Nice Girl who's pleasant to McQueen, Candice is an Alpha Bitch who's antagonistic towards him.
  • Heel–Face Turn: At the end of the game, she, Stinger, and El Machismo apologise for their behavior on the track, which Lightning accepts.
  • Mini-Boss: Of the Santa Carburera portion of the game.
  • Pink Is Feminine: A female light pink car.
  • Retail Therapy: How she calms down after losing to Lightning.
  • Sore Loser: She throws a tantrum when she loses to Lightning in her boss race.
  • The Smurfette Principle: She's the only female protégé of Chick's academy.
  • Spoiled Brat: She's the Cars version of Veruca Salt. She throws a tantrum when Lightning beats her and immediately gets on the phone to her father demanding new parts now. Her daddy immediately accepts and makes the necessary arrangements.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: She has fans of her own as seen in the opening cutscene of her boss race.

    El Machismo
Voiced by: Randy Savage
Basis: 2008 Dodge Ram
"EL MACHISMO IS THE MONSTER OF ALL MONSTER TRUCKS!"

A larger than life off-road racer hailing from Autovia. Bigger than big, badder than bad, El Machismo is always a spectacle to behold.

  • Arc Villain: He's the main opponent Lightning has to face in Autovia.
  • Badass Boast: BIGGER THAN BIG! BADDER THAN BAD!
  • Co-Dragons: Alongside Candice and Stinger, he's one of Chick's main protégé that Lightning has to beat to win the Race-O-Rama series.
  • Heel–Face Turn: He, Candice and Stinger apologise to Lightning for their behavior at the end of the game.
  • The Juggernaut: The biggest of Chick's students.
  • Large Ham: A given considering his voice actor.
  • Mini-Boss: Of the Autovia portion of the game.
  • No Indoor Voice: Most of his lines are loud and boisterous.
  • Sore Loser: Even more than Chick if you can believe it.

    Stinger
Basis: mix of 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT-8 and 2006 Chevrolet Camaro concept

A muscle car from Motoropolis City. Stinger is a car of few words, but his skills speak loud and clear.

  • Arc Villain: He's the main opponent Lightning has to face in Motoropolis.
  • Co-Dragons: Alongside Candice and El Machismo, he's one of Chick's main protégé that Lightning has to beat to win the Race-O-Rama series.
  • Heel–Face Turn: He, Candice and El Machismo apologise to Lightning for their bahavior at the end of the game. Even though he just revs his engine again, it's assumed he's apologetic.
  • Mini-Boss: Of the Motoropolis portion of the game.
  • Sore Loser: When Lightning defeats him and Chick demands to know what he has to say for himself, he just revs his engines and races off.
  • The Voiceless: He never speaks outside of growling and revving his engine. However, he did speak in some of the books.

    The VINs
Voiced by: MacInTalk
"Now we will see what this world has to offer."

Robot Racecars created by Motor Co. when students of Chick's Racing Academy allow themselves to be transformed into them.

  • Artificial Limbs Are Stronger: Many of Chick's students turned themselves into VINs as a means to defeat Lightning. Even then, they can't beat him.
  • Body Horror: They were once normal students who allowed themselves to be turned into mindless robot racers. Think about it.
  • Creepy Monotone: How they talk all the time.
  • Cybernetics Eat Your Soul: A bit of an odd case, seeing as the characters are technically already machines, but it's a fair this is what happens to the students who get changed into them.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Doc's students.
  • Fun with Acronyms: VIN stands for Vehicle Identification Number.
  • Mecha-Mooks: The VIN's eventually supplant Chick's students as Lightning's main racing opponents. There's even one race near the end of the game where McQueen races exclusively against VINs and no one else.
  • Shadow Archetype:
    • They reflect what Doc's students could have become if they took the easy way out and upgraded themselves instead of naturally improving their skills.
    • They also act as a dark mirror to Lightning, who also upgrades himself but otherwise retains his base identity instead of becoming entirely cybernetic.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: As they don't appear in the ending, it's unknown whether they got reverted back to normal or stayed VINs after Lightning beat Chick.

    Bubba
Voiced by: Lloyd Sherr
"The Towing Rights to Radiator Springs are mine!"

A large, mean red tow truck who once challenged Mater for the towing rights to Radiator Springs long ago. He returned with Tater and Tater Jr. to challenge Mater in the Rustbucket Stadium to decide once and for all.

  • Ambiguous Situation: He challenged Mater for the towing rights at the same time Lightning and Chick were pitting their racing academies in the Race-O-Rama Series. It's never stated if Chick brought him in with the promise of getting the towing rights or if Bubba is acting on his own.
  • All There in the Manual: The story of Mater and Bubba's rivalry is told in the story "Hoodwinked" which details how Mater lost his hood and when Bubba first challenged him for the towing rights.
  • Arch-Enemy: To Mater. He's the one who took Mater's hood.
  • Arc Villain: Of the Rustbucket Races.
  • Bad Boss: It's obvious he thinks very little of Tater and Tater Jr. stating they couldn't spell I.Q if he spotted them the 'I'.
  • Deep South: Speaks with a deep southern drawl.
  • Evil Plan: Beat Mater in the Rustbucket Races and acquire the towing rights to Radiator Springs.
  • Evil Counterpart: He is a tow truck like Mater, only bigger, nastier, and not nearly as nice.
  • Jerkass: He's as mean as he is big.
  • Large and in Charge: The biggest standard character in the game. Even bigger than El Machismo.
  • The Rival: To Mater. The two have a very antagonistic history and the only character who Mater doesn't interact with in his usual friendly manner.
  • Sore Loser: When Mater beats him again, and having lost the chance to get the towing rights, he storms off.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: In Hoodwinked, Bubba challenged Mater for the towing rights, but Mater only agreed to the race if they drove backwards. Bubba might be twice Mater's size, but he's a lousy backwards driver, allowing Mater to win their first race.

    Tater & Tater Jr.
Voiced by: Stephen Stanton (Tater) & Andrew Stanton (Tater Jr.)

Two rusty tow trucks Bubba brings with him to challenge Mater for the towing rights to Radiator Springs.

  • Adaptational Jerkass: In the "Boom!Studios" comics, they are much more eager to assist Bubba in his schemes, and overall act quite jerkish, a far cry from their Race O Rama portrayal.
  • Co-Dragons: They're Bubba's right-hand trucks who he brought to help defeat Mater in the Rustbucket races.
  • Graceful Loser: Unlike Bubba, who spitefully vows revenge against Mater when the latter beats him, Tater and Tater Jr. are far more gracious in defeat, being more content with having fun during the contest. It helps that they'd already befriended Mater by that point.
  • Minion with an F in Evil: Both are amicable and non-antagonistic towards Mater, despite them being there with Bubba to take the towing rights from him.
  • Nice Guy: Neither of them have an evil part in their chassis.

    Doc Hudson's Students
Voiced by: Chris Edgerley, Joe Smith
"We're with the Doc Hudson Racing Academy. Enough said."

Members of the Doc Hudson Racing Academy. They learn how to race tough but race honest by Lightning and Doc. Four versions are playable on certain consoles of the game.

    Chick Hicks' Students
Voiced by: Mark Silverman, Josh Robert Thompson
"We're learning from the best. Chick Hicks."

Members of Chick Hick's Racing Academy. Like Doc's students, there's four versions of them available on certain console versions of the game. Unlike Doc's students, they're taught to cheat and race dirty. After one too many losses to Lightning, they choose to have themselves turned into VINs.

  • The Apprentice: To Chick.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Two of them knock into two of Doc's students at the end of the very first race of the game, showing off they learned Chick's dirty tactics.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Doc's students. While Doc's students are taught to race fairly and sportingly, Chick's students are taught to bully and cheat.
  • Green and Mean: They all sport a dark green color scheme and are as every bit as underhanded as their mentor.
  • Jerkass: Chick sure taught them well in that department.
  • Palette Swap: They use the same models as Doc's students, with the main difference being that Chick's students are green while Doc's students are blue.
