Inside Kivotos

Helmet Gang

    Helmet Gang in general 
A large gang spread throughout Kivotos made up of unaffiliated dropout students who take up mercenary work. Their members are all characterized by wearing a signature helmet (or face protector) of any kind.
  • Faceless Goons: Except for Rabu, all Helmet Gangsters wear full-face motorcycle helmets or gas masks.
  • Gang of Hats: They all make up a Gang of Helmets, which is really all that needs to be said about their looks.
  • Go-Karting with Bowser: Despite frequently coming into conflict with Sensei and the students they lead, they seem to have no issue with Sensei attending their Beach Festival during the Arius Summer Event.
  • Starter Villain: For both Sensei (at the prologue) and the Foreclosure Task Force (in Volume 1), before moving on to bigger fish like Problem Solver 68, the Prefect Team, and Kaiser Corporation—especially Kaiser, the one responsible for Abydos's problems on top of being Volume 1's Chapter 2's Final Boss.
  • Villainous Rescue: In Volume F, they answer the call to help defend the SCHALE building from the Chroma's assault. Completely Justified, given that the Chroma is an existential threat to all of Kivotos, them included, as Rabu points out.

    Komakaze Rabu

An officer of the Splash Helmet Gang, and former student from Trinity General School.
  • Animal Lover: Her Memorial Lobby has her rescuing a family of ducklings from a drainage grate.
  • Anti-Villain: Despite being the leader of her own group of Helmet Gangsters, Rabu is never shown really doing anything explicitly evil. At her absolute worst, she tries to browbeat various students and civilians into giving her and her group some money, and even then that's for the sake of survival because being a drop-out denies her access to most forms of income and amenities, with her having plenty of standards such as never seriously harming innocents beyond what they can shrug off, being willing to fight to protect civilians from more malicious individuals, and being a Benevolent Boss who prioritizes the happiness of her crew before her own.
  • Benevolent Boss: Is routinely shown to genuinely care for her little squad of Helmet Gangsters and often goes out of her way to treat them out. She takes her crew to the Waterpark in the Say-Bing event, purely so they can have fun together. Later, in the Serenade Promenade event, when their curiosity leads them to Trinity’s School Festival, Rabu and her underlings don’t have any money to enjoy its food or games. When Sensei offers to explore the festival with them, even paying for them to be able to indulge themselves, Rabu sets aside her pride and agrees for the sake of her crew.
  • Cool Helmet: Wears a black colored Alytn Helmet complete with a visor and Helmet Gang decal on the side. She also seems to be a fan of them since she hired the Foreclosure Task Force for their really nice helmets in addition to their skills.
  • Fangs Are Evil: Has shark-like teeth, which denotes her ferocious demeanor.
  • Horrible Judge of Character:
    • Having lost against the Abydos girls repeatedly during the Resort Hunt, they've decided to hire Wakamo of all people to provide backup. Not only did she try to berate the Fox of Calamity, but the fact that Sensei was around motivated Wakamo to beat the entire Splash Helmet Gang into submission, turning them into her henchmen for her plan to "rescue" Sensei from the clutches of the Foreclosure Task Force.
    • Happens once again when the Foreclosure Task Force disguise themselves as new hires for the Splash Helmet Gang, using the same ski masks they used for bank robbing in order to disguise themselves. Rabu just thought that they're wearing really nice helmets.
  • The Minion Master: Representing her role as a Helmet Gang leader, Rabu goes one further than other students which can summon Assist Characters by being able to self-target her EX Skill to summon up to three Helmet Gang members with three possible gun types, who will stay on the field for a decently long time and act as temporary extra combatants. Her Normal and Sub skills also get stronger with more Helmet Gang members on the field, incentivising you to both summon and keep alive three members at all times when using her.
  • Mook Lieutenant: The first named Helmet Gangster Sensei meets and she's the one commanding troops under Kaiser Salesperson (Formerly Kaiser PMC Director).
  • A Mother to Her Men: In one of the afterwords to the Say-Bing event, when Rabu is invited to a fun beach event in the form of the Helmet Gangster Grand Alliance, she refuses to go when she learns that her subordinates did not receive an invite as well. Rabu then goes on to take her gang to the water park as a treat, with their only order being to enjoy themselves. However, due to their low funds, the three have to agree to pay off the remaining balance of their entry fee via cleaning the pools of the park.
  • Not Me This Time: She shows up in Say-Bing, but she's not responsible for the Mechagator rampaging through the water park. Valkyrie initially assumes so due to her running away when they ran into each other, but Rabu clarifies that she and her gang are legitimately there to enjoy the water park and she ran away on instinct.
  • Promoted to Playable: After spending several years making regular appearances in various events and even showing up in Volume F, Rabu would finally become a recruitable student with the release of the "Magical Girl Heavy Calibur" event
  • Throat-Slitting Gesture: Whenever she uses one of her skills.
  • Villains Out Shopping:
    • She and her gang show up in Say-Bing as legitimate guests at the new water park, having worked their way in with janitorial work. When Valkyrie confronts them about the Mechagator rampaging in the park, they're offended at the insinuation that it's their fault and actually help subdue the Mechagator.
    • In Serenade Promenade, she and her gang visit the Trinity Carnival out of curiosity, but their lack of funds means that all they can really do is look around and loiter. Seeing that they're just there to be regular students, Sensei offers to pay for them for the day so that they can properly enjoy the Carnival, which they accept.
  • Your Makeup Is Running: After watching the JTF’s play during the ‘’Serenade Promenade’’ event, Rabu teases her crewmates for crying from the play despite being "fearsome" troublemakers. Rabu states that even though it was her first play, she did not shed a single tear. However, her subordinates point out that her eyes are red, and that her mascara got smudged. Rabu is quick to downplay these observations by claiming that they're simply the result of her scratching her eyes during the performance because they were itchy.

Sukeban

    Sukeban in general 
A group of delinquents found throughtout Kivotos, usually seen with white face masks.
  • Japanese Delinquents: All of them are stereotypical types: they all wear face masks, their uniforms would break at least a rule or two in the average Japanese school (like overly-short skirts and open blazers), every single one met in-story all have violent and extortionist dispositions (except for rare ones like those innocently greeting Sensei in Wakamo's Relationship Stories before she bombs them).
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: One of them mentions this line in Problem Solver 68's New Year Rhapsody:
    Thug 1: Wh-What the...? We didn't even get a chance to have a combat sequence!
  • Mooks: They're a common enemy like any other gang-related member.
  • Sarashi: Minigun-type Sukebans take after their leader Akemi in only wearing chest-wraps under their open coat, prominently showing off their cleavage and stomachs as a display of rule-defiance.

Kaiser Corporation

    Kaiser Corporation in general

Kaiser President

A giant corporation in Kivotos that often dip its hands in illegal business. Its affiliates include Kaiser Loans, Kaiser PMC (a mercenary company), Kaiser Construction, and convenience store chains amongst many others.


  • Animal Motifs: The octopus. Logos of Kaiser Corporation and all of its affiliates either depict an octopus or a stylized depiction of one. It also fits into how they operate via their many avenues of business, which even extends to black market deals.
  • Arms Dealer: They fit in the Corporate Lobbyist category, both producing and selling legally in stores and less legally in the Black Market.
  • The Bus Came Back: After being a present antagonist through Kaiser PMC, then being absent for Volumes 2 and 3, Kaiser finally returns in Volume 4 where it's revealed that they've made Valkyrie Police Academy subservient to them in exchange for better equipment.
  • Deal with the Devil: They're very open to making deals to offer their aid to whoever needs money or resources, but their offers always come with steep prices that usually cause more problems in the long run than the initial issue they solved. Just ask Abydos, who accepted loans to deal with desertification only to get a growing debt that forced them to sell off most of their district's territory, or better yet ask the Valkyrie Police Academy, who were given money and firepower to keep up with better-armed criminals in exchange for doing Kaiser's dirty work.
  • Evil, Inc..: They're involved in a myriad of different businesses ranging from banking to mercenaries, and they're more than willing to cooperate with Gematria and force students out of schools like they tried with Abydos.
  • Karma Houdini: Kaiser PMC is responsible for at least two separate coup attempts on the General Student Council as well as several cases of illegal arms trafficking, and other subsidiaries of the Kaiser Group have committed everything from fraud to loan sharking. Pretty much the only reason they haven't had their assets seized and the corporation itself either forcibly broken up or nationalized boils down to the fact that they employ just about everyone who isn't either self-employed or working for one of Kivotos' clubs, which, as is explained in V4C2, would probably crash Kivotos' economy if it went under, and as General himself says, he'd just refound Kaiser under another name anyway.
  • Mecha-Mooks: All of their rank-and-files are robotic, this includes their top brass (all of whom are Ridiculously Human Robots).
  • MegaCorp: They named themselves that after all. Joke aside, their presence is felt nearly everywhere throughout Kivotos, especially in its shady underbelly, and kept at bay by the autonomous districts. The now-nearly-abandoned Abydos is an example of what happens when an academy is unprepared to deal with cutthroat businessmen like those of Kaiser.
  • No Name Given: None of the executives of Kaiser have ever given their name up to date, if they even have any.
  • One Nation Under Copyright: Their ultimate goal as revealed in the Final Volume, seeking to depose the GSC and the students, and appoint themselves as rulers of Kivotos.
  • Private Military Contractors: One of their subsidiaries is Kaiser PMC, which is their personal payrolled military working independently of Kivotos' government, brought out whenever they need to do something hidden from the prying eyes of the General Student Council, or acting as replacement for the Valkyrie Police School in any location they've managed to make deals to have control over.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: Despite many people in high-ranking positions such as the General Student Council and individual academies' student councils and prefect teams knowing both the level of their corruption and the evil actions they frequently perform, Kaiser Corporation remains safe from punishment because of the fact that a large portion of Kivotos' economy is dependent on their continued support, with things like guns, food, construction, banks, and many more being provided by their company, so while Sensei and their students can stop their various attempts at total control of the economy, completely dissolving Kaiser is out of the question.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: A bit downplayed as everybody in Kivotos is aware of how greedy and corrupt they are, but the majority of citizens only see them as a regular greedy corporation taking advantage of their better resources to price-gouge people, continuing to use their businesses because of the higher quality and presence. Unknown to the masses, their higher quality comes from bribing and assimilating other businesses with better products, their lack of competition is because they destroy anybody that threatens their bottom line, and they're open to doing things that threaten the lives of many in Kivotos just to secure even more money and business avenues.

One of the members of the Kaiser Corporation's Board of Directors. Serves as the main antagonist of Volume 1, Chapters 1 and 2, then again in the Momoyodou Beach Shack Franchise Plan event, albeit demoted for his failure to take Abydos and renamed to "Kaiser Salesperson".
  • Adaptational Badass: While solely controlling things from behind the scenes in the game, in the animated adaptation he dons a Mini-Mecha to fight the Foreclosure Task Force himself after they defeat his Kaiser PMC mooks.
  • Arc Villain: He acts as the overarching antagonist of Volume 1's Chapters 1 and 2, being the one responsible for the Helmet Gang and Problem Solver 68 attacking Abydos High School in a scheme to take over Abydos and install a corporate-based school to match the other school districts.
  • Bad Boss: Problem Solver 68's failure to defeat Abydos is met with him slashing their promised payout for the job. This later becomes part of 68's motivation to turn on them.
  • The Bus Came Back: After his failure and disappearance at the end of Volume 1 Chapter 2, Momoyodou Beach Shack Franchise Plan has him return once more as the Arc Villain, albeit now known as Kaiser Salesperson, demoted to working in the Octopus Bank.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: Without the Abydos Student Council around to negotiate turning Abydos High School over to Kaiser, the Director responded with hiring criminals like the Helmet Gang and Problem Solver 68 to drive out the Foreclosure Task Force.
  • Enemy Mine:
    • The Director ended up siding with Black Suit in his effort to take down the Foreclosure Task Force, due to Black Suit wanting to capture Hoshino, the last vestiges of Abydos' student council, for her Mystic.
    • On the receiving end, his machinations end up causing Problem Solver 68 to join the Foreclosure Task Force in their mission to rescue Hoshino, along with Trinity and Gehenna joining in to decimate Kaiser's forces.
  • Faux Affably Evil: He maintains a falsely courteous and professional attitude when interacting with both clients and enemies, all while openly flaunting his corporate connections, making thinly-veiled insults and threats to the Foreclosure Task Force, and being a Bad Boss towards Problem Solver 68.
  • No Name Given: He's simply known as the "Kaiser Director", despite being the Chief Executive of the entire Kaiser Corporation. When he makes a reappearance in the Momoyodou Beach Shack Franchise Plan, he's been demoted to "Kaiser Salesperson".
  • Put on a Bus: The last he's seen in Volume 1 is him squaring off with Problem Solver 68 while the Foreclosure Task Force moves to secure Hoshino. He ends up losing his position and goes into hiding while the rest of Kaiser washes their hands of him.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: He wears a black suit and jacket with red markings, plus a red tie and sash, and he's a Corrupt Corporate Executive.
  • Speak Ill of the Dead: In the anime, he greatly angers Hoshino by saying Yume was an idiot. Hoshino nearly blew his head off with her shotgun right then and there.
  • Villain Has a Point: His actions against the Foreclosure Task Force are evil, yes. But he makes a point that he purchased the rest of Abydos' district legally through negotiations with its student council before they went defunct.

    General (Spoilers for Volumes 4 and F)

Personal vendettas mean nothing in the face of my greater goals.

The successor to Kaiser PMC Director after he got demoted. He is responsible for the takeover of the General Student Council during the Final Volume.
  • Arch-Enemy: Following the Chroma incident, he makes it clear to RABBIT squad that he despises all of them for almost ruining his career, and he remains an enemy of theirs throughout V4C2. That is, of course, until they kick his ass again and show it's a Comically Lopsided Rivalry instead.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: Unlike his predecessor, he does not plan to take Sensei lightly. The moment he found out Sensei escaped, he demanded the Special Forces to come and assist them, knowing Sensei will strike and wanting to make sure they win the fight at any cost.
  • Silly Rabbit, Idealism Is for Kids!: When he meets RABBIT Squad again in V4C2, he writes off their ideas of bonds and friendship as naïve and praises Kaya for being mature to set aside her feelings for her goals, just like General restraining himself from taking revenge for his defeat at RABBIT's hands.
  • Smug Snake: Put him and his men in an actual firefight against true elites and they crumple like wet paper bags. Past the authority Kaya grants him, he's not much of a threat himself.
  • Underestimating Badassery: On two separate occasions against RABBIT Squad, making him border on Sitcom Arch-Nemesis status:
    • In Volume F, Chapter 1, he's introduced as a No-Nonsense Nemesis who's got intimidating special Kaiser soldiers he believes can take on the likes of SRT. Come a map stage later, the way RABBIT and Sensei storm through Schale HQ as General panics makes it clear the special forces weren't much to write home about.
    • V4C2E23 turns the relationship between RABBIT and Kaiser's military into Comically Lopsided Rivalry. General had reserved his spec ops for FOX Squad should it come to it, but when he hears of their defeat, he's somehow confident Kaiser can take RABBIT despite their own earlier loss a volume ago. In a handful of textboxes after his monologue, RABBIT wastes no time gunning all of them down, and instead of Kaiser being dignified with a map stage like in Volume F, they don't even get that and only have a single level, the students' EX cost meter on Fever Time so that you can enjoy the difference in strength between the squad and the metal fodder.

    President

The President of Kaiser Corporation and every one of its ever-growing subsidiaries.
  • Arc Villain: Serves as the villain (besides the Underground Dweller) in the first half of Volume 1, Chapter 3 as the one responsible for releasing part of Abydos's debt as shares for a bigger plan in the works. He ends up being replaced by Suou once she betrays him, with the Underground Dweller proving to be the even Greater-Scope Villain for the rest of the chapter.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: The President is as evil as is expected of Kaiser by now throughout V1C3, but it's thanks to the Underground Dweller's manipulations that the incident kicked off to start with. Just as the President is going to get away with Nonomi's gold card after escaping from the investors' meeting, Suou, who has acted as a Double Agent for him, suddenly shoves him off the chopper they are riding and takes the card for herself. He survives the fall, but doesn't show up later save for the epilogue reporting that he hasn't said anything since his hospitalization. In the meantime, Suou and the Dweller act as the Big Bads for the rest of the chapter.
  • Bigger Stick: At the investors' meeting in V1C3, he blackmails and threatens every investor at gunpoint into selling their business at an infinitesimal cost to assume full rights to their shares of Abydos's land contract, becoming the undisputed owner.
  • Coat Cape: He wears his outer jacket in this fashion.
  • Classy Cane: Has one to complete the rich executive look.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: All the problems caused around Kivotos due to the Kaiser Corporation trace themselves back to this guy's desire to maximise his profits in any way he can, but because he doesn't directly involve himself in business arrangements with clients, leaving that to his Board of Directors, he only has a few appearances here and there through the story.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Unlike his subordinates who will keep attempting to complete a deal no matter what the setback due to fear of being demoted for their failures, as both top of the food chain in the company and controller of all the businesses, he both knows when a business venture is no longer worth pursuing and is willing to drop the efforts until a better opportunity appears, as can be seen with temporarily giving up on taking over Kivotos while the Chroma threatens it, since his company lacks the power or connections to defeat or benefit from it, letting Sensei and co. deal with it.
  • Put on a Bus: Though he makes his first appearance in Volume F as the one behind Kaiser's attempts at taking over Abydos and Sensei's kidnapping, he only appears in the first chapter and doesn't show up after that. He later returns as a major antagonist in V1C3.
  • Red and Black and Evil All Over: He’s the Corrupt Corporate Executive in charge of a ruthless MegaCorp and he’s dressed in a black suit with a red dress shirt.

Seven Prisoners

    Seven Prisoners in general 
A term collectively referring to seven notorious students imprisoned in the Correction Bureau, who all broke out after the disappearance of the GSC President.
  • Animal Motifs: Nearly every Prisoner so far has one, either through their name, their physical traits, or the nickname they've gotten, though Akemi is the sole exception at the moment.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Most of the Prisoners have taken a liking to Sensei or outright developed feelings because Sensei has shown them kindness, understanding, and most importantly, without being judgemental of them. It's likely that since they didn't expect anyone to understand and accept them because of all of the crimes they have committed, they are surprised, if not cathartic over knowing that there is someone out there who would give them a chance to become a better person no matter how twisted they are. This is an important factor in making Akira give her real name to Sensei and Kai to willingly accept her defeat at the end of their respective events.
  • The Dreaded: Their escape is one of the major problems plaguing Kivotos. During The Silence and Feast of Kosaka Wakamo event, after (temporarily) arresting Wakamo, Fubuki makes the point that six more of them are lurking in the corners of Kivotos, a fact that greatly rattles Sensei.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Pretty much every one of them are attractive in their own right. Wakamo has shapely legs, and is well-endowed as evident on her summer alt, Akira's clothing consists of a mix between a form-fitting tuxedo and Spy Catsuit, Kai is generously well-endowed that is accentuated with her cleavage on her Sexy Slit Dress, and Akemi is very beautiful in spite of (or because of) her huge muscles.
  • Red Baron: Due to their notoriety, every member of the Seven Prisoners known so far possesses a nickname.
    • Wakamo the "Fox of Calamity".
    • Akira the "Phantom Thief of Affection".
    • Kai the "Monkey of the Five Impurities".
    • Akemi the "Legendary Sukeban".
  • Rogues Gallery: The best way to describe the Seven Prisoners as a whole.
  • Thematic Rogues Gallery: From the four known members, each of the Seven Prisoners appears to hail from a particular school, especially since at the launch of the game, there were seven known schools that playable characters could be recruited from. For example, Wakamo is stated in her prologue introduction to be from Hyakkiyako and Kai is confirmed to be a fugitive from Shanhaijing. Akira's and Akemi's origins are a complete mystery as of this writing, though based on some implications of their character traits, Akira being obsessed with the "freedom" of art at the cost of chaos hints she might come from Wildhunt due to the unique way the students there view art and the fact she disguises herself as a student from Wildhunt's Dormitory Supervisor Team during the We are the Occult Research Society! and Art for Whom? ~Art Forgery and the Pursuit of Beauty~ events. Akemi's dedication to elegance, elite Ojou persona, and British theming hint at potentially coming from Trinity.
  • Villainesses Want Heroes: Some of the Prisoners who get to know Sensei become taken by their character in various ways: Wakamo fell in Love at First Sight; Akira was attracted to Sensei's care for all students which includes herself; and Kai was struck speechless by Sensei's unwavering will to care even for a student like herself who committed evils on Beatrice's level.

The most violent of the Seven Prisoners, and a student currently suspended from Hyakkiyako Alliance Academy. She is also known as the "Fox of Calamity" due to her destructive ways.


  • Actress Allusion: Her voice actress being Chiwa Saito also brings to mind another protagonist-obsessed kitsune, aka Tamamo-no-Mae from Fate/EXTRA.
  • Artistic License – Military: The bayonet on her Type 99 rifle is secured only to the gun's bayonet lug, and lacks a muzzle ring that would provide it extra stability.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Even if her goals involve just having a romantic moment with Sensei and giving them chocolate, that still doesn't change the fact her debut event The Silence and Feast of Kosaka Wakamo ends in her both getting what she wants and escaping scot free due to her utter determination to succeed.
  • Berserk Button: Badmouthing Sensei in any way is a quick way to piss Wakamo off. In the Abydos Resort Restoration Committee event, hearing Rabu referring to Sensei as her enemy has her get to work 're-educating' them immediately... leaving her and the Helmet Gang terrified of disobeying her the next time they show up.
  • Bomb Throwing Anarchist: A bona fide anarchist, her hobbies are exclusively causing destruction and wreaking havoc wherever she goes.
  • Breaking Old Trends:
    • As Wakamo: Hovercraft, she's the first Total Assault boss to use the same combination of damage and armor type as a previous boss: Piercing damage and Heavy armor, the same as Binah.
    • Wakamo/Wakamo: Hovercraft is the first student, both playable and unplayable, who serves as a Raid Boss. And as of this moment, only she possesses this uniqueness.
  • The Bus Came Back: After showing up in the prologue and then disappearing from the story, Wakamo finally returns in Blue Archive's first ever Valentine-themed event, The Silence and Feast of Kosaka Wakamo, as the primary antagonist.
  • Cool Mask: She wears a stylized kitsune mask.
  • Cosmic Plaything: Both her normal and summer versions' Relationship Stories have the universe conspire to ruin whatever date plans Wakamo tries to set up. Whether it be the amusement park or store she wants to go to being closed, them missing a train and arriving late, or Sensei repeatedly getting called away by their work obligations, few things seem to go exactly as Wakamo planned.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Stars as a major character in the event she debuted in as a playable student, quite fittingly titled The Silence and Feast of Kosaka Wakamo.
  • Determinator: Her debut event, The Silence and Feast of Kosaka Wakamo, has Wakamo breaking out of prison a grand total of FIVE times, each time taking her evasive measures against law enforcement further and further, all to try and get a moment alone with Sensei to give them her Valentine chocolate.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Despite her sadistic and manipulative nature, Wakamo truly and genuinely loves Sensei, with her case of Love at First Sight quickly evolving into real affection once they finally talk for the first time. She wants to make sure they become her lover without inflicting any form of cruelty or coercion, going as far as toning down her sadistic nature to do so.
  • Expy: Of Akagi from Azur Lane, having the Yandere personality and same tendencies of wiping out "pests" in the way, and both being fox girls. Even the VA of this expy is in this game too, but in a completely different character.
  • Faux Affably Evil: The only person Wakamo is genuinely nice to is Sensei. Any kindness she shows to anyone else is purely manipulation.
  • Hostile Show Takeover: While the Valentine's Day event is initially titled Schale's Happy Valentine Patrol, Wakamo's arrival into the story causes the event page to be periodically overwritten with her own pseudo-event, The Silence and Feast of Kosaka Wakamo. The push and pull between the two events make up the main gimmick, as players have to continually recapture Wakamo to temporarily clear away her interfering missions.
  • I Call It "Vera": She wields a black and red Arisaka Type 99 rifle named "Crimson Calamity".
  • Insane Troll Logic: Slips into this during the Abydos Resort Restoration Committee event when her view of Sensei clashes severely with that she was told about the island (that it was a lawless place with factions fighting for territory). Wakamo cannot fathom why Sensei would voluntarily come to such a place and so concludes that they've been kidnapped by the Abydos students.
  • Leitmotif: "Burning Love".
  • Love at First Sight: She's deeply infatuated with Sensei, having fallen for them hard after their brief meeting in the Schale HQ basement during the game's prologue.
  • Morality Chain: Sensei is this for her, as Wakamo's dependence on them having a good opinion of her is strong enough that she can rein her destructive and violent urges in for their sake, especially when she's attempting to have a date with them.
  • Please, I Will Do Anything!: She's surprisingly dependent on Sensei's opinion of her. Whenever it seems like she's disappointed them by causing trouble, she'll immediately start crying and the apologies come out a mile a minute, with Wakamo promising to do whatever it takes to get into Sensei's good graces again.
  • Rage Breaking Point: Throughout her second Summer Relationship Episode, Wakamo is surprisingly sweet and understanding about Sensei being called away endlessly to help with firework prep, despite it interrupting quite literally all of her plans, merely waving him off with a smile and wishing they come back safely. At the end of the day, as they're watching the sunset together, it happens one final time... and this time Wakamo can't take it any more, quickly flying into a rage as soon as Sensei is out of sight, cursing the fireworks festival, and deciding to blow up the warehouse storing them to prevent them from bothering Sensei again.
  • Recruiting the Criminal: She's one of the most dangerous criminals in Kivotos, but her love and adoration for Sensei means she's willing to suppress her violent tendencies when interacting with them, and as such is available to recruit for working with SCHALE, even if she's mainly available to help because she's constantly breaking out of the Cardboard Prison the police lock her in.
  • Recurring Boss: Wakamo is one of the most frequently fought antagonistic boss-type characters in the game, being faced first in the Prologue, then fought several times in the Valentine's event as her debut, then fought again in the Summer event.
  • Red Baron: Is called the "Fox of Calamity" by Valkyrie's students, reflecting both her foxy motifs and her habit of causing devastation wherever she goes.
  • Stalker with a Crush: Acts like this towards Sensei during her first Relationship Event, secretly following behind them and violently interfering whenever someone threatens to disrupt Sensei's day, like bombing a trio of delinquents trying to extort Sensei for money or shooting a customer who cuts in front of Sensei when they try and buy something.
  • Starter Villain: The first boss fight of the game and first obstacle you face in restoring order to Kivotos, being the one causing direct trouble near SCHALE headquarters and breaking into the Sanctum Tower, though she flees before you can defeat her properly.
  • Token Evil Teammate: While there may be a wide variety of recruitable students who possess questionable moral fiber, most of them are not too bad, ranging from the Well-Intentioned Extremist Rio to the Hot Springs Development Department having borderline Blue-and-Orange Morality. Meanwhile, Wakamo is a very open and unrepentant criminal, finding violence, chaos, and destruction incredibly fun and perfectly reasonable responses to people making her angry. The only reason she ever does anything good is out of her adoration for Sensei convincing her to engage in Teeth-Clenched Teamwork with students she's previously antagonized, and even then she sometimes lapses into violence fits and has to be stopped by Sensei and some other students, such as the Summer event
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: While she's not Sensei's girlfriend, even if they've gone on a few pseudo-dates and Sensei appreciates her affection, she's still violently and ruthlessly protective of her beloved Sensei's safety against anybody that threatens them, as Kaiser Corporation had the misfortune of experiencing after Sensei called her in for help during the summer event and she proceeded to utterly crush the whole group singlehandedly, including using a rocket to blow up Kaiser Salesperson's helicopter when he tried to escape.
  • Wingding Eyes: Has hearts in her eyes whenever she's expressing her more "affectionate" thoughts to Sensei.

Second of the Seven Prisoners to be revealed, she is the "Benevolent Thief" who is known for never missing a target once she has set her sight on it.
She makes her first appearance in the event Alabaster Calling Card: Mansion Masquerade and the Essence of Beauty.


  • Affably Evil: A very prominent case of genuine affability as shown throughout Alabaster Calling Card, being genuinely courteous and a major Noble Demon through her methods, to the point "evil" is a strong word to use for her, only being an antagonist because she's after Meitaro's artwork which the GDD is guarding. When they do engage each other on the first day, she saves Midori from falling off a floor because she does not want innocents getting hurt. Then later on, she secretly helps the heroes discover Meitaro's illegal auction because she realized they were being mislead, bails them out from his security guards, has no problem forming an alliance with them on Sensei's advice, and actually allows Yuzu a moment to talk Meitaro down before they have to subdue him anyway when he refuses. Even after the two sides fight each other for the Crown, the thief bows out with no hard feelings over her loss, deciding it's better than Meitaro keeping it.
  • At Least I Admit It: She is aware that her view on art is alienating her from others, leading to her isolation and I Work Alone heists, but she isn't willing to stop any time soon since she truly believes that only she understands the true beauty of art and that art must be shared freely instead of being hoarded up by people wanting to make money off them.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Her preferred outfit is a snappy elegant suit, and it says a lot that for all her showmanship, her well-known status as one of the Seven Prisoners is indication enough she's had plenty of successful thefts. Moreover, though direct fighting isn't her forte as a thief, she still proves to be a match for the entire Game Development Department under Sensei's leadership in their first encounter, even escaping at the end of Alabaster Calling Card once she was finally defeated. She also wears a good looking suit with a cape when disguised as a Wildhunt dorm supervisor named Miria.
  • Berserk Button: She is normally cool, polite, and playful, as shown throughout the Alabaster Calling Card event, but the one moment she does get angry is when Toki calls her a "thief" instead of her title, leading to their constant bickering even when she's working with the GDD when they find out about Meitaro's true goal. It's likely because she doesn't want to be seen as a lowly thief stealing for herself instead of sharing them with the whole world.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Her motivation for becoming a phantom thief boils down to this: "art should be free to be seen by all". The thought of art collecting dust in some storage or being hogged by the tasteless rich using it as a trophy is revolting to her, so she'll do whatever it takes to ensure everyone can bear witness to them. It's also why she becomes taken with Sensei, who accepts her despite being an unapologetic criminal. However, it's implied in Art for Whom? event and is very likely due to Sensei's influence as well as the Special Trade Department's actions throughout the event that while Akira still believes that arts should be free, she has somewhat loosened up a bit by admitting that there are a handful of people out there who understand the true value of arts too instead of just her.
  • Building Swing: Her method of both travel and Smoke Out escape is through a grappling rope that lets her swing through the air quickly.
  • Calling Card: In true Phantom Thief fashion, she always sends one of these to the target of an upcoming theft, with a riddle describing the subject of her next heist. It's said that the riddles are so convoluted that the item described is usually gone by the time the target figures out what she's after.
  • Classy Cat-Burglar: Fits the description like a glove, being a thief with plenty of class, though follows the image of a Gentleman Thief by wearing a snappy white suit instead of a catsuit or other feminine clothing (though there's still a hint of femininity in the form of her high heels). Bonus points for being a Literal Cat Burglar.
  • A Day in the Limelight: She makes her debut as an antagonist (besides Meitaro) in Alabaster Calling Card: Mansion Masquerade and the Essence of Beauty, setting her sights on a certain piece of art.
  • Death Dealer: One of her attacks involves throwing one of her Calling Cards at a student, marking them with a special debuff signified by said card floating above their head.
  • Earn Your Title: "The Benevolent Thief", because it is her form of benevolence to bestow upon the masses freedom to look at the art she steals from those who would needlessly keep them.
  • Enemy Mine: Through Sensei's advice, she forms an alliance with the GDD and Toki during the events of Alabaster Calling Card to take down Meitaro and retrieve the Crown. But as Toki predicted, they come to blows over the Crown, with our heroes winning in the end.
  • Expy: She's a near blatant copy of Kaito Kid, a fellow phantom thief dressed in a white suit that performs good-willed thefts of treasures like they were a magician's tricks. She also may have inherited the rose motif from another rose-tossing thief, Tuxedo Mask. Even her first name Akira comes from another gentlemanly thief, Joker from Persona 5.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Implied to have built her own gizmos as they have her mask designs which includes a grappling hook, a smokescreen bomb. and a walkie-talkie-like device.
  • Graceful Loser: Her sense of grace extends to her loss against the GDD and Toki for the Crown, deciding to leave it in their hands as a token of respect for her first meeting with Sensei since she also wanted it out of Meitaro's hands.
  • Hidden Depths: Her private talk with Sensei shows she is completely aware that she is not a normal person as she asks the hypothetical of a thief being a stubborn, twisted person who will never change their ways as well as being a criminal who is one of the infamous Seven Prisoners, obviously talking about herself. So it's no wonder that she's touched by Sensei's sincerity and decisiveness in only seeing her as their student instead of a crazy person.
  • I Work Alone: In a private conversation with Sensei after losing to them during Episode 10 of Alabaster Calling Card, she believes herself to be The Only One capable of understanding the value of art, so it's up to herself to guard such works until it's time for them to be unveiled to the world. This commitment however alienates everyone around her, stating that there were some people who did try to understand her but called her a monster or an insane person in the end. She was ready to hear even the "valiant" Sensei react in the same way, only to be told that they don't see her like that; after all, she's a student, and teachers are supposed to be there for their students no matter what. This alone is enough for her to give them her name and save a recording of their words.
  • Insult Backfire: How she takes to being called a thief for the sake of art:
    ""On the day we are born, we are pure: without titles, without labels. And so we accept the ones others gift us." The world has been calling me a thief, so I accepted it with my own twist."
  • Just Like Robin Hood: An interesting variant; Akira's only motive for stealing art pieces is to allow everyone to admire it for free instead of the rich hogging it to themselves or let them degrade in a basement.
  • Literal Cat Burglar: She adds to her prominent Classy Cat-Burglar image by also being a Cat Girl with white cat ears and a tail.
  • Master of Disguise: Shows this when she trades her Benevolent Thief identity to disguise as Miria the dorm supervisor in Wildhunt with everyone being none the wiser. So far, Sensei is the only person to figure out Akira's disguises. It's implied upon reuniting with her as Miria in the We are the Occult Research Society! event, Sensei already figured out who she was. Even as Sensei tells "Miria" that they know she will not stop her heists, she plays dumb to what they're talking about, but does talk about her secret identity in a roundabout way.
  • Phantom Thief: In case her moniker is too subtle, she even has the mask and a gun in the shape of an Arsène Lupin-style cane to go with it.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: Not a typical villain, but she is considered an antagonist for the Alabaster Calling Card event since she wants to steal Meitaro's treasure and it isn't until the end of the event where she takes it off her mask to reveal she has red eyes.
  • Ship Tease: Unsurprisingly, just like her fellow Prisoner Wakamo, the Phantom Thief of Affection has developed a rather strong affection towards Sensei. However, Akira's ways of expressing her feelings are much more subtle even when it's evident that she has fallen for Sensei hard.
    • Near the end of the Alabaster Calling Card event, Akira has a private talk with Sensei where her feeling towards them is starting to develop as she finds out that Sensei doesn't see her as a thief or a monster as she originally thought but as one of their students. Being greatly touched by their honest words, Akira willingly gives her real name to them and even takes the liberty of recording Sensei calling her their student to which she repeats the audio several times later.
    • When she reunites with Sensei as they are assisting the Free Trade Cartel during the Art for Whom? event, she can't hide her sheer joy when Sensei remembers her and almost calls her by her real name before stopping themself so as not to expose her identity. At the end of the event, once Sensei has figured out Akira's disguise as Miria, she tells them that if they want to stop her then they'll have to keep chasing her... which she whispers to herself that she won't mind at all.
  • Something about a Rose: She has a red rose motif, made most apparent with the red petals she conjures in gameplay.
  • Stronger Than They Look: As elegant as she looks, Akira also has the durability and combat capabilities to live up to her reputation as one of the Seven Prisoners. During the Alabaster Calling Card event, Akira is able to tank a shot from Aris's railgun and easily beat Toki in an one-on-one fight. Even when the GDD and Toki team up to fight Akira together with Sensei's assistance, the best they can do is making her retreat after realizing that she has no chance in winning.
  • Sword Cane: Fitting an elegant gentlewomanly student, her sidearm is a cane-length-barreled gun, which she not only rests her hands on for a Classy Cane image, but it also acts as a Hand Cannon through how her special attack has her shoot a high-powered round from it.
  • Token Good Teammate: Out of all the Seven Prisoners, Akira is the most noble of the bunch. Her goals are just wanting art to be freely accessible, even if she has to steal it from the rich. She gives clues to the target just so they could have a fair chance to stop her (admittedly through impossible riddles), tries to minimize damage, and doesn't want innocents getting caught in the crossfire and will save them even if they are trying to stop her.
  • Villain in a White Suit: Played with. She wears a sharp, pure white suit that adds to her flamboyant style in stealing priceless artworks, even if calling her a villain is an exaggeration compared to far worse examples of the trope.
  • You Monster!: She tells Toki that there were some people who tried to understand her motives but they all rejected her in the end. It's also not helped by the fact that she is one of the notorious Seven Prisoners, which makes the GDD and even Toki apprehensive and hesitant in allying with her, and they only do so when upon Sensei's suggestion. She's genuinely surprised and touched when Sensei is likely the first person to genuinely understand her by telling her that they only see her as a student, even when knowing she won't stop what she does as one of the Seven Prisoners.

Third of the Seven Prisoners to be revealed, she is the former president of Shanhaijing's Eastern Alchemy Society. Known as the "Monkey of the Senses", she has a record of illegally smuggling medicine before she was banished from Shanhaijing.


  • Beyond Redemption: Kai discusses this trope with Sensei after being subjugated, asking what will they do if a student is completely irredeemable. Sensei, in response, tells her that they would not want to abandon a student no matter what and will try to get through to them to the best of their abilities, and wishes for her to never give up on herself. This goodwill perplexes Kai so much that she fully complies with her arrest in a completely good mood.
  • Expy: Of Orochimaru. Both are Mad Scientists, formerly a part of a good faction that they now antagonize, wanted to become more powerful through immoral experiments, complete with having an ultimate desire for immortality, and pulling a Redemption Rejection at one point of their lives.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Twice. Both in The Dragon and the Tortoise and Moonlight Dream does she plan and hide in the shadows while letting others do the dirty work for her as opposed to her more active fellow prisoners. Averted in the aptly-named Descent of the Senses event, as this time, she's an active threat to Shanhaijing.
  • Held Back in School: A variant given what the term student represents in Kivotos. It's revealed in the Moonlight Dream event that Kai would've already graduated from Shanhaijing if it wasn't for her expulsion. However, despite being expelled, both the game and Sensei still refers to Kai as a student.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: In Descent of the Senses, she spreads a contagious de-aging sickness throughout Shanhaijing as part of her plan. As it turns out, Kisaki got infected with it as well, and while it doesn't change her physical appearance, it reverts all the damage Kai's poison had done to her, allowing her to defeat Kai herself. To put it poetically, Kai's infliction of monkey's paws on her victims finally caught up with her.
  • Hypocrite: Her arrogance is such that she sees herself as above the masses and her followers, yet a key reason to her success in Descent of the Senses is because she had one loyal follower on the inside as well as a bunch of mercenaries who buy her time to create her elixir, showing she is still reliant on others despite her claims of superiority. Moreover, she waxes poetic about chaos being necessary for change and mocks Shanhaijing's inability to let go of the past, yet her attachment to her lab (an old-fashioned workshop of wooden shelves and the like compared to the Society's modernized rooms), her obsession with her research and her desire for revenge against Kisaki shows she isn't any better.
  • Immortality Seeker: Reveals to Sensei and Kisaki that her ultimate desire is to create a drug that'll give her immortality, which is why she sought the 1000 year old Ginseng in the first place.
  • Mad Scientist: Some of her crimes involve concocting experimental and very dangerous substances.
  • Master Poisoner: Kai's apothecary skills are among the greatest in Kivotos, to which she uses in her full advantage, dishing out buffs and debuffs to her allies and enemies through drugs that she created.
  • Never My Fault: She excuses her misdeeds giving faulty concoctions to her followers as something they brought on themselves. This is what sets her apart from Saya, who, while just as guilty for making people guinea pigs, always has an antidote for her victims and works hard to ensure their happiness.
  • Poison and Cure Gambit: A common racket of hers was concocting whatever miracle drug a person needed and then extorting them for whatever cure they need for whatever nasty side-effects the first drug had.
  • Put on a Prison Bus: She's scheduled to return to the Corrections Bureau, after plaguing Shanhaijing for three separate events. Notably, she's the only member to be recaptured (not counting Wakamo's temporary confinements) instead of her peers usually escaping.
  • Red Baron: Is called the "Monkey of the Senses" in reference to The Monkey's Paw, due to how her miracle drugs would grant people's wishes at a horrible price.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Despite already belonging to a group of problematic students so dangerous that they had to be locked up in maximum security, Kai's evil deeds and selfish motives surpasses them in vileness, to the point that they're comparable to Beatrice's. Her notable transgressions are concocting dangerous drugs, extorting her victims for a cure after gifting them miracle drugs with nasty side effects, attempted assassination through poisoning of Kisaki after she expelled her, smuggling forbidden ingredients by using unwitting children as carriers, and inciting a rebellion, while believing she won't ever reflect on her actions.
  • Why Did You Make Me Hit You?: As part of her Motive Rant, Kai shames Kisaki into believing that her assassination attempt and the ensuing Tyke Syndrome was her fault for expelling her, using the traditional rule that the Monshu is responsible for all tragedies that occur while in power.

Fourth of the Seven Prisoners to be revealed. The very large, yet still beautiful leader of the Sukebans.
  • Amazonian Beauty: Akemi is massive and heavily muscular, but maintains an air of femininity, a well-built curvy body, and a pretty face.
  • BFG: She wields an M2 Browning .50 cal machine gun, which may as well be a BFG as far as personal weaponry is concerned.
  • Breaking Old Trends: Of the Seven Prisoners to be revealed thus far, she has no Animal Motifs and is connected to a faction, the Sukebans, instead of being a lone figure.
  • The Fighting Narcissist: Everything about her exudes a sense of immense confidence in herself, making clear she prides herself on being cute, pretty, and strong. She likes doing a Hair Flip to show off her prettiness and cute face, performing a Pec Flex and punching rockets at enemies to show off her strength, espousing a desire to always do everything with elegance and grace, and the skirt she wears has characters that translate to "The Most Beautiful Girl", "The Invincible Sukeban", and "I'm cute".
  • Hair Flip: She glamorously flips her hair during combat, complete with a Bishie Sparkle.
  • I Call It "Vera": Names her M2 Browning "Elizabeth" and cherishes it enough that she deems the act of harming it unforgivable.
  • Improbable Use of a Weapon: One of her secondary attacks is punching one of her rockets hard enough to prime it into launching at a target.
  • The Leader: She's the leader of the Sukebans.
  • A Mother to Her Men: Her care for the Sukebans is so deep and genuine that the entire reason the thugs wanted to crash the Helmet Gang Beach Festival is out of revenge for selling out her location, which led to Akemi's arrest and imprisonment. When their leader reunited with them, the Sukebans immediately make clear that they've missed her ever since, a sentiment Akemi returns with joy.
  • Muscles Are Meaningful: By far the most muscular of Kivotos'students, which indicate her being strong enough to casually flip a tank using only one hand.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: The vast majority of girls / students in the game generally lack much visible muscle on their designs, even the ones stated to have Super-Strength. Akemi breaks that mold by not just having muscles but also being a big mountain of muscularity, all while being well-built and still femininely pretty.
  • Ojou: In spite of her monstrous muscular build and status as leader of the notoriously rude Sukebans, Akemi is surprisingly polite and well-spoken, often ending her sentences with a "desuwa". This fact along with her machine gun being a British firearm named "Elizabeth", has a flying squirrel named "Charles" and that Trinity boasts quite a few characters with Super-Strength like Tsurugi, Mika, Mine and Hinata (with Kazusa being a former delinquent), it points to a high likelihood that Akemi is a dropout from Trinity.
  • One-Woman Army: She's considered a bigger threat than all Sukebans combined, having caused enormous damage to the Valkyrie Police Academy in the past all by herself.
  • Pec Flex: In battle, she has an animation where she'll stop fighting just so she can flex her muscles for a few seconds.
  • Rank Scales with Asskicking: She's both the leader and the strongest member of the Sukebans.
  • Red Baron: She is called "The Legendary Delinquent" for being an extremely strong Sukeban.
  • Sarashi: She's completely topless save for a Sarashi she has around her breasts as part of her "ultimate sukeban" look.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: In addition to her machine gun, she carries around an M202 FLASH rocket launcher which she fires as a secondary attack.
  • Super-Strength: Besides the "casually flipping a tank" thing, she's able to hold and hipfire an M2 Browning as her primary weapon note . Notable since Hinata, who uses a Mk.19 grenade launcher as her EX skill, still has to set it on the ground before she fires.
  • Tall Is Intimidating: She's a huge, muscle-bound woman whose stature makes her look incredibly imposing.
  • Worf Had the Flu: Professor Smug reveals that Akemi only lost to the Arius Squad because she's out of shape from being held in the Corrections Bureau for an unspecified amount of time.

  • Action Girl: Due to the fact that all students in Kivotos are female, they're all this. This means they also avert tropes common to normal Super Sentai shows like Pink Means Feminine and The Smurfette Principle.
  • Breakable Weapons: Doing enough damage to Kaiten FX Mk.0 will break whatever weapon its currently using and render it inoperable for the rest of the fight, as well as staggering the boss.
  • Color-Coded for Your Convenience: Red carries an assault rifle, Black carries a pistol, Green carries a minigun, Yellow wields a sniper rifle and Pink packs a rocket launcher.
  • Combining Mecha: The Kaiten FX Mk.0 raid boss introduces the Kaitenger's namesake machine in the fight's second phase. Higher difficulties add on additional abilities for it to use.
    • They eventually debut the Mk.1 in the New Year No. 68 event, citing that their old one got destroyed (though the Mk.1 is greatly inferior to Mk.0 due to a lack of budget).
    • During the False Sanctum raid event, Sensei decides to pick them as the candidates to fight against the final guardian of the Sanctums. Using the energy of the Sanctums, which can increases the size of anything with a limit of 3 minutes, the Kaiten FX Mk.0 becomes Kaiten FX Mk.∞
  • Dirty Coward: In Bounty missions, if you don't take them out fast enough, they'll turn and run away, leaving their allies to deal with your team. Slightly subverted however, as they'll eventually reach the end of the map, forcing them to fight you.
  • Edible Theme Naming: Named after conveyor belt sushi (kaitenzushi).
  • Evil Counterpart: Some members of the Kaitenger are effectively a mirror of a student from each class of weapon they use.
    • Black's pistol can debuff a single student, similar to Akane.
    • Green can fire a spray of bullets in a fanning pattern, similar to Nonomi.
    • Yellow fires a single high-damage shot, similar to Hasumi.
  • Expy: Kaitenger is an expy of Super Sentai.
  • Heel–Face Turn: When The Chroma descends upon Kivotos, the Kaitengers help with the defense of Kivotos. Kaiten FX Mk.0, being the only raid boss not affiliated with any of Gematria's research, is consequently not taken over by The Chroma's assault of Gematria and takeover of their mystics as a result.
  • Large Ham: Nothing they do is small-scale or off-limits to them, and they boast about their actions loud and proud.
  • Leitmotif: Denshi Toujou! while fighting on foot, and Kaiten Screw!!! when piloting their mecha. Their latest theme for the fight against Perorodzilla is Kaiten Hurricane!!!.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: The group is forced to retreat after the final battle in New Year's Rhapsody No. 68 when Kaiten Green points out that her shift is nearing the 12-hour mark and requests double pay from Red for any further work. It's implied that the rest of the group is of a similar mindset.
  • Tautological Templar: Played for Laughs. They're self-proclaimed heroes, so as far as they're concerned, any crime they commit is heroic because they're the ones doing it.
  • Theme Music Power-Up: During the second phase of their raid mission, when they are piloting the Kaiten FX Mk.0, the BGM changes into Kaiten Screw!!!
  • Walking Armory: The Kaiten FX Mk.0's packing all sorts of heat from its constituent components. This includes a (surprisingly piddly) Rocket Punch, an arm-mounted "Super Shrimp Machine Gun", an "Ultra Plate Shield" (that casts a defensive barrier around it), "Hyper Sardine Missiles" in its chest, and a gigantic sword it uses for its ultimate attack.
  • Vigilante Injustice: They can often be found robbing banks and stealing weapons from the black market in order to fund their vigilante activities. During the New Year's Rhapsody No. 68, they robbed the shrine's offering box claiming the money in it will be used for "right and just causes".
  • Versus Title: Parodying the trend of Sentai movies having 'Versus' in their titles, the final battle of the False Sanctum raid event is "Kaiten FX Mk.∞ VS Perorodzilla".

President of Hyakkiyako's Merchant Association. He is dissatisfied with the fact that the Hyakkiyako Festival Management Committee gets all the budget.
  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: A Running Gag has him take off his eyepatch and beg for forgiveness, to no avail. In the Momoyodou Beach Shack Franchise Plan event in particular, he loses to Shizuko and Izuna again. Then he proposes a franchise contract to Shizuko. Shizuko punches him out without hesitation.
  • Dirty Coward: He's an incredibly smug person, always talking down to others whenever he feels that he has the advantage. The moment the tables are turned and he gets cornered, he's not afraid to immediately resort to begging or other means in an attempt to butter the heroes up. It never works out.
  • Eyepatch of Power: Parodied. Wears an eyepatch on his left eye purely for Rule of Cool. Makes it all the more amusing when he takes it off when begging for mercy in both of his appearance.
  • Funny Animal: He is an anthropomorphic cat in a Kimono.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: He is named after Date Masamune. His real name and nickname make this more obvious: Date Meowsamune and One-Eyed Dragon, respectively.
  • Palette Swap: Unlike Master Shiba, Meowru is using one of the generic animal citizen as a portrait. However, the eyepatch sprite is unique to him.

    Kurokame Gang 
A criminal organization of robots.
  • The Con: Their specialty. They range from money laundering in New Years' Rhapsody No. 68 to running a scam resort that overcharge for everything in Momoyo Cafe's Beachside Stand.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: In New Years' Rhapsody No. 68, the leader's bragging about his use of social media to facilitate his money laundering scam gets recorded by Mutsuki, who posts it to social media herself. The ensuing riot gives the Foreclosure Task Force, the Gehenna Prefect Team, and most importantly Problem Solver No. 68 an opening to take the entire gang down.
  • Mecha-Mooks: The gang consists of robots, with the armed members coloured red with gold markings.
  • Shockingly Expensive Bill: Tried pushing these in the Momoyo Cafe's Beachside Stand event while pretending to be Shanhaijing’s Black Tortoise Promenade. They charge a fee for everything from attempting to sit down to just touching chopsticks in a restaurant.
  • Villain Team-Up: The remnants of the gang teams up with Date Meowru during Momoyo Cafe's Beachside Stand in operating the Ultra-Luxury Resort to scam customers.

    Sweepers 
Cube-like robots you can see in the Base Defense.
  • Mecha-Mooks: Small cube-like robots that try to electrocute your students.
  • Palette Swap: Sweepers come in three types: Regular, speedy Modded, and tougher Enhanced. There are also Light and Special armor versions seen in Joint Firing Drill Defence Exercises. There’s also another variant of the base types: (colored), created when the Chroma invaded Kivotos.
  • Zerg Rush: Whenever they show up, expect needing to mow down swarms of them.

    Professor Smug

The individual responsible for releasing the Seven Prisoners from the Corrections Bureau.
  • Big Guy, Little Guy: The Little Girl to Akemi's Big Girl, which also fits with her being the brains to advise Akemi's brawn. It's no wonder that Smug thinks she would have the most rapport with the Legendary Thug.
  • The Chessmaster: Her plans are well-calculated such that in Sheside Outside, a ragtag bunch of thugs would have ruined the Helmet Gang's beach festival in its earliest stages. It was only through the unforeseen intervention of Sensei and the Arius Squad her later plans were ruined every step of the way.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: She was first mentioned by Iroha in Unconcealed Heart, where she thinks she is the one who sent the Mouryo during the Hyakkiyako-Gehenna Exchange event.
  • Everyone Calls Her "Barkeep": Is currently only known by her nickname, "Professor Smug".
  • Greater-Scope Villain:
    • In her first on-screen appearance in the Sheside Outside event, the Thugs were only able to get as far as they had in nearly ruining the Helmet Gang Alliance Festival because of her plans. She is also revealed to be the one responsible for breaking the Seven Prisoners out of prison and allowing them to run free.
    • The epilogue of Code: BOX reveals that she's the one who hired Mirai to steal the Big Sister Algorithm. Despite Mirai failing, she still saves her from being sent to the Corrections Bureau and implies that she had a different goal which Mirai somehow managed to accomplish.
  • Hidden Agenda Villain: It's currently unknown why she released the Seven Prisoners and what she hopes to gain out of it.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The Blue Oni to Akemi the Red Oni; in Episode 9 of Sheside Outside, Akemi would have tried to keep fighting against the overwhelming odds were it not for Smug advising against it and suggesting retreat, lest Akemi be recaptured once more.
  • Shorter Means Smarter: She is visibly amongst the shortest characters of the game's entire cast, especially compared to the hulking Akemi, yet she is infamous for being a shady mastermind.
  • Smug Smiler: Her nicknames in every language (Smiling Professor for KN, Professor Niyaniya / Big Grin for JP, Professor Smug for EN) are derived from her confident and smug smirking in every appearance.
  • Woman Of Wealth And Taste: She dresses in fancy clothing, even having a Classy Cane to go along with her style.

    Vroom Vroom Race Association 
A biker gang acting as a delivery company who lack any restraint with their speed, resulting in fast delivery times but a gamble as to whether packages can get to their destinations in one piece. They have a one-sided rivalry towards Highlander Railroad Academy as competitors in the delivery industry.
  • A Day in the Limelight: They show up in the Highlander Railroad Runaway Incident: And the Train Disappeared event, getting ticked off when a major delivery has been relegated to Highlander instead of the association.
  • In-Series Nickname: They're officially called the National Transporter Association, but they're also called the Vroom Vroom Race Association... for short. Aoba is understandably incredulous when she heard that, though the client has no problem saying the whole thing.
  • Insistent Terminology: The Biker Gang Boss insists on being called "President". The dialogue's nametag does not change to oblige this whatsoever.
  • Never My Fault: No matter how many of their customers complain about the mishandling of their orders, the group doesn't think it matters and believes only in getting there as fast as they can.
    • Even when one of their members got fired for trashing the Tachibana twins' pizza delivery and complains she usually lasts for two days in a job instead of one (it's anyone's guess as to whether that should be an achievement), instead of self-reflecting, that member still blames it on the girls.
    • The Biker Gang Boss was clearly told by the client that the courier job was handed over to Highlander because they can provide safety and security for the package, whereas the Association is too reckless. The Boss still places blame on Highlander and plots to take the package away just so that they can claim delivery for it.
  • Unknown Rival: They think they are on even footing with Highlander, who don't have the foggiest of a clue who they are until the tail end of the Highlander Railroad Runaway Incident.

Black Suit
A mysterious group of foreign researchers and explorers who came to Kivotos to study its secrets... by any means necessary. Considerably elusive and lacking any concrete information on who they are, they are an enigma, even for a city like Kivotos.

Despite their amoral nature and willingness to trample others in the name of their research, some of their members have occasionally approached Schale to guide them toward dealing with larger threats...
  • Above Good and Evil: Gematria's members could care less about the ethics of turning an entire school into an army or betraying a desperate third-year just to get at her powers.
  • Always a Bigger Fish: When Gematria tries to stop the invasion of the False Sanctums, the mysterious entity behind the invasion sends a dark version of Shiroko to kill them all.
  • Ambiguously Human: While the group are all comprised of monstrous Humanoid Abominations quite clearly lacking in proper humanity, several conversations they have among themselves and with Sensei heavily hint that they're Transhuman Abominations, formerly being just as human as Sensei before they transformed themselves into something... more in their dedication to researching the world. Two particular points of reference for this implication are when Golconde suggests they "make Sensei one of us, like we did for Beatrice", heavily implying at least Beatrice was a former human, and in Volume F Chapter 2 when Black Suit tells Sensei how repeated use of their Adult Card will eventually result in them "ending up like us".
  • Breaking the Fellowship: As a result of Beatrice's insubordination and banishment, the Chroma taking control of all of their creations and with it their research and hard work, and Anubis critically injuring the remaining members, Gematria is forced to disband and split up until further notice.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Any time their perspective on morality comes up in conversation, particularly when talking to Sensei, they make no attempt to hide or sugarcoat the fact their actions are outright evil, even referring to Sensei as the hero working to stop their villainous actions. However, outside the misanthropic and manipulative Beatrice, most of them admit this not to make them more deplorable but instead to showcase their amorality, being Mad Scientists who see morality and ethics as too limiting in achieving their goals to research and understand the world.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • While Beatrice is unambiguously evil, the other Gematria members tend to be more gray. Black Suit, Maestro, and Golconde & Decalcomania are far more ambivalent when it comes to morals, and in the Final Volume, even they realize that allowing the False Sanctums to invade Kivotos is bad for them, so they take steps to defend the city their own way. They even execute Beatrice themselves when they learn she's in league with the Chroma.
    • Black Suit muses that Underground Dweller was just as problematic as Beatrice, which becomes a problem when Francis plots to release him to confront Sensei. Underground Dweller was the one responsible for Kivotos going to hell in Phrenapates timeline by attempting to assassinate Sensei with a bomb, and his plan in Volume 1 Chapter 3 would have resulted in either Horus, Set, or both of them destroying Kivotos.
  • Evil Counterpart: Like Sensei, they pride themselves in being "adults". But where Sensei makes it their task to guide and help the next generation, the members of Gematria see their experience as a pass to exploit and manipulate for their own gain. Beatrice even more so, as she is technically the teacher of Arius, a position she uses to drill and destroy all hopes and dreams in her students. Interestingly, this counterpart relationship means that most of Gematria is on surprisingly good terms with Sensei, who they see as a peer despite radically different ideologies.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: At the beginning, they were involved with much of the plot of the game, working from the shadows to manipulate other factions to do their bidding before eventually being confronted in one way or another. Downplayed as new enemy factions like Decagrammaton and the Nameless Priests are introduced. As of Volume F, Gematria is forced to temporarily disband to recuperate their losses, putting them out of this trope for the foreseeable future.
  • Humanoid Abomination: In a city of girls with halos, robots, and even talking animals, Gematria's members stand out with their far more peculiar physical appearances.
  • Knight of Cerebus: The usual slice-of-life nature of Blue Archive can quickly go out the window whenever a member of Gematria reveals themselves.
  • Mad Scientist: Their research takes priority, even if it means that students have to suffer to achieve results. Just ask Hoshino and the students of Arius.
  • Manipulative Bastard: They're more than happy to manipulate the people of Kivotos to get what they want.
  • The Man Behind the Man: Whether manipulating the Kaiser Corporation in its conflict with Abydos or sending Arius to attack the Eden Treaty, Gematria often stays in the background until things really start to heat up.
  • Man of Wealth and Taste: Every member of Gematria possess formal attires, including Black Suit with his eponymous black business suit, Maestro with his navy blue tuxedo, Golconde & Decalcomania, with their brown trenchcoat, Beatrice with her flourished white dress, and Underground Dweller with his traditional robe.
  • Mr. Exposition: Despite their differences in ideologies, Gematria is happily willing to provide Sensei info and lore of the Raid Bosses he encounters.
  • Sliding Scale of Antagonist Vileness: Gematria's members, for as bad as they can be, tend to vary in levels of hostility toward Schale and Sensei, with Black Suit, Maestro, and Golconde & Decalcomania willingly speaking to Sensei about the raid bosses despite the actions of Black Suit and Maestro. In contrast, Beatrice just wants Sensei dead so Kivotos loses hope for the future.
  • Underestimating Badassery: Falls victim to this in Volume F against the Chroma which they presumed up till then to be, as powerful as it is, just a mindless force. They learn quickly that not only It Can Think but it can also strategize by sending its representatives to quickly take out the most immediate threats, like an alternate version of Shiroko directly to Gematria to swiftly eliminate them and steal their knowledge or Phrenapates to kidnap Kivotos's Shiroko.
  • The Unfought: With the exception of Beatrice, every member of Gematria has so far avoided fighting SCHALE and the students, either out of knowing the futility of it, or not wanting out of genuine respect for Sensei.
  • Weak Boss, Strong Underlings: An extra detail regarding their Evil Counterpart status towards Sensei is that just like them, despite being able to create various powerful supernatural entities through their research, which then become useful tools to further their research, Gematria personally are little different in power from a normal human, being capable of surviving lethal injury through various reasons but being unable to directly fight. It's a point of contention by Beatrice, who admits to Sensei how she had to employ More than Mind Control to turn Arius into her loyal soldiers because she lacked true brainwashing or mind control powers, and her dedication to finding a way to Ascend to a Higher Plane of Existence is out of wanting to gain personal power that would let her accomplish her goals without needing the aid of others.

    Black Suit

The first member of Gematria to be revealed. His interests are in the ancient and technologically advanced relics left by the Nameless Priests, and he watches over the AI Decagrammaton and its Prophets as it proves its godhood.
  • Affably Evil: He's very polite and courteous towards Sensei when they finally meet in person, even after he starts losing his patience as he tries and fails to understand why Sensei keeps on insisting on Hoshino's return despite it not being his problem whatsoever. When he finally realizes he can't sway Sensei into giving up, he relents and freely gives away Hoshino's location, allowing Sensei to leave without complaint.
  • An Offer You Can't Refuse: While an actual gun is never used as a threat during their meeting, Black Suit has a metaphorical gun to the Task Force's heads when making his offer to Hoshino: since Abydos owes their debt to the Kaiser Corporation and Black Suit is an associate of theirs, he can easily convince the Kaiser Director to simply inflate Abydos' debt over and over again until they drown in it and have no choice but to default on the loan, forcing Hoshino to sign herself away to save her school or watch it go under anyway.
  • Appropriated Appellation: Hoshino calls him "Black Suit" in part due to his enigmatic nature and his offers, and he "grows fond" of the epithet to let Sensei use it as his name.
  • Cut Lex Luthor a Check: He admits that his plots to recover the technology of the Nameless Priests are mostly so that he can sell it off the black market for huge profits.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Black Suit can't understand why Sensei handed over control of the Sanctum Tower to the General Student Council, as opposed to seizing it, and with it control of Kivotos and all of its Mystics, for themselves. He also refutes Sensei's assertion that an adult takes responsibility for others, calling them ignorant and insisting that being an adult is about being in charge of and controlling those others instead.
    Black Suit: Adults rule the aimless with authority, the ignorant with knowledge, and the weak with power. That is what it means to be an adult.
  • For Science!: He reacts with distaste when Hoshino assumes that she's going to be made to work for Kaiser PMC in exchange for Black Suit clearing away Abydos' debt, assuring her that he would never waste "the most promising Mystic in Kivotos" on such menial labor. He instead explains that he wants to understand how Hoshino and her Mystics work... by any means necessary.
    Black Suit: My objective is to study, analyze and understand Takanashi Hoshino. You, in other words, are our guinea pig.
  • Friendly Enemy: Toward Sensei. Black Suit genuinely respects (and even seems to like) him, is unfailingly polite toward him in their interactions, and ideally would very much like to not be his enemy.
  • Mad Scientist: Though he never gets the chance to do any proper experiments on her, it's Black Suit's self-proclaimed mission to study Hoshino and her Mystics, while his willingness to support Kaiser's efforts to annex Abydos and what he does to Hoshino once he finally gets his hands on her more than covers the 'Mad' part of this trope.
  • The Man Behind the Man: He's this for the Kaiser PMC Director, supporting his efforts to annex Abydos to eventually get his hands on Hoshino, in an effort to study her and her Mystics.
  • Person with the Clothing: Black Suit does, indeed, wear a black three-piece suit at all times.
  • The Rival: According to Beatrice, he considers himself this to Sensei, believing that the two of them will better each other through opposing one another even if Black Suit considers Sensei a comrade. This is why, in Volume F, he goes to Sensei to tell him how to reach the Ark: because he believes that he, if anyone, has a chance against the Chroma.
  • Suddenly Shouting: Devolves into this as he struggles to understand why Sensei won't just give up on getting Hoshino back.
  • We Can Rule Together: He makes an effort to try and recruit Sensei to his cause, insisting that neither he nor his faction wants to oppose Sensei. Though Sensei turns him down, Beatrice comments in Chapter 4 of the Trinity Arc that Black Suit still considers Sensei a comrade, believing that they can better each other.
  • Your Head A-Splode: Black Suit didn't get away from Anubis' attack unscathed, as during his subsequent encounter with Sensei, you can see that practically half of his head has been blown off, leaving an open wound that burns with white flame.

    Maestro

The second member of Gematria to be revealed. He's specialized in mimesis, the ability to recreate and replicate beings of Mystery in Kivotos, having used said ability to move the Amuse Dolls of Slumpia and recreated the Communio Sanctorum.


  • Berserk Button: He really dislikes other people using his "works" without permission. When meeting with the other Gematria members in V3C4, he gets pissed at Beatrice for using the Justina Saints as cannon fodder for her Arius forces, insisting that they were never meant to be used for war.
  • Body Horror: VfC2 shows that he's taken quite a bit of damage from Anubis's assault, missing a chunk of one of his heads, being riddled with bullets, and losing his entire second head. The damage is bad enough that Black Suit needed to reanimate him by grafting a fresh puppet head onto the stump.
  • Creepy Doll: A two-headed wooden puppet wearing a nice suit. After the assault on Gematria, Black Suit was able to bring Maestro back to life by patching him up with another wooden puppet.
  • Commonality Connection: According to Beatrice, Maestro believes that he and Sensei have this, and the two of them will help expand one another's knowledge through conflicting ideas.
  • Evil Genius: He's set up as the guy with the most smarts when it comes to mystics, as he's the one who helped to hijack the Justina Saint army (or as he calls them, "The Guardians of the commandments") via his "mimesis" technique for Arius' use in Chapter 3 of Volume 3.
  • Tranquil Fury: He never raises his voice during the meeting in V3C4. Nevertheless, Maestro makes it very clear just how angry he is at Beatrice throwing his "works" into the fray as expendable meat shields.
  • Villainous Friendship: Seemed to have a bit of this with Golconde who Maestro notes he will miss when Black Suit informs him that Francis has returned.
  • We Can Rebuild Him: Anubis' assault on Gematria actually killed him from all the damage he took, though Black Suit brought him back by attaching another wooden puppet head to his form to replace the one he lost, which Maestro doesn't mind all that much.
    Maestro: Well, the flesh is disposable, after all. Whatever form I take is of little concern.

    Golconde & Decalcomania

The third member of Gematria to be revealed. He's specialized in interpreting "text" and "signs", and watch over the Library of Lore with great interest.


  • Ambiguous Situation: While he tries to tell the Underground Dweller on the "best build" to defeat Sensei, Francis gets strangled by him on interfering on what he calls "his campaign". His fate is left unknown even after the end of V1C3.
  • Death of Personality: Golconde effectively suffers this at the hands of Anubis in Volume F, being replaced by Francis onward.
  • Knight of Cerebus: As Francis, Golconde appears before Sensei in Volume F and tries to assume this role, telling Sensei that the arrival of the Chroma on Kivotos will pave a way for the story to become Darker and Edgier and a happy ending won't be possible. Sensei of course rejects Francis outright and promises to defy Francis' prediction.
    • Interestingly Maestro shares a bit of this opinion of Francis too, noting that in some ways he is even more dangerous than Beatrice.
  • Meta Guy: Where Black Suit styles himself a businessman and Maestro an artist, Golconde thinks in terms of writing. The man will often describe people and happenings in pure literary terms, giving him the odd role of a character who practically talks like a troper. And if some of Maestro's comments are any indications, he might be fully aware that he's a character in a fictional work.
  • Non-Indicative Name: Golconde, the portrait which resembles Rene Magritte's work Decalcomania, while Decalcomania, the man carrying the portrait, resembles the men depicted in Golconde.
  • Plot Armor: Golconde believes that trying to fight directly against Sensei is pointless because he fully believes Sensei is protected by the current meta-narrative. Or in other words, actual metaphysical plot armor. Francis though believes that said plot armor will eventually run out, even after the crisis in Volume F.
  • Theme Naming: Both characters are themed after paintings made by René Magritte.
    • After Anubis's assault on Gematria, Golconde is replaced with Francis, who is named after the British painted Francis Bacon, known for works with unsettling imagery. The portrait that was formerly Golconde is changed into the face of a screaming man which resembles Francis's work Study after Velázquez's Portrait of Pope Innocent X.

The final member of Gematria to be revealed. She has taken over the Arius Autonomous District in the midst of its inner conflicts by exploiting the student's hate and indoctrinate them into being her tools.


  • Amazing Technicolor Population: She's the most "human"-looking out of the Humanoid Abominations comprising Gematria, to the level of being an alluring Ms. Fanservice in most appearances, but one prominent trait that still makes her inhuman nature clear is having bright-red skin.
  • Ascend to a Higher Plane of Existence: Her seeming end goal, with her explaining that, using the fragments of Atsuko's Halo combined with the "Mystery" in her royal blood after she's sacrificed in the planned ritual, she'll be able to become a "higher existence". It's later revealed that wanted to use the ritual to make contact with the Chroma, which is a truly godlike entity.
  • Arch-Enemy: Considers Sensei this by the end of V3C4, even referring to them as "my antagonist" when they meet in person in To The Most Holy Place, most likely because of Sensei's Hope Bringer status and willingness to support his students' dreams directly threaten Beatrice's methods of controlling hers, which involve crushing their dreams and breaking them into Blind Obedience.
  • Arc Villain: Is set up as the primary antagonist for Volume 3, Chapter 4. With Mika's plans for Trinity foiled and the Arius Squad's assault on the Eden Treaty defeated, Beatrice seems set to move from Greater-Scope Villain to the central antagonist now that Sensei and the Arius Squad are taking the fight directly to Arius Branch.
  • Bad Boss: The fact that the majority of the Arius students are kept in line by fear of her, according to Saori, doesn't paint her in a very good light. It only gets worse with the reveal that she intends to sacrifice Atsuko in a special ritual, and uses the threat of that to force the Arius Squad into doing her bidding and attacking Trinity and Gehenna.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Insulting her intelligence. When Maestro did so during their conversation early in V3C4, she interrupted him to snap right back:
      Maestro: I am not asserting possession over them, you brute, I—
      Beatrice: Brute? How dare you call me that.
    • She takes a very dim view of Sensei's Rousing Speech in Infinite Possibility, to convince Mika and Saori that there's still hope for a better future for them, interrupting them to denounce them as a liar and sic more Justina Saints on the group. Considering her own modus operandi as a Hope Crusher, this isn't surprising.
      Beatrice: ENOUGH of your nonsense! How dare you utter such nonsense in my basilica.
      Beatrice: I am no longer amused. The show shall end here.
    • Related to the above, she snaps again in Kyrie For Courageous Girls when she hears the hymn Mika plays on an old set of organs and gramophones during her Hold the Line action, which Misaki identifies as a "Kyrie eleison" or "hymn of mercy". Since she rules through fear and despair, she doesn't want to hear ANYTHING that might lift a student's spirits and break her hold over them.
      Beatrice: No, no, NO!!! I will NOT stand for this! How dare she play a song of mercy in MY territory!
      Beatrice: No, I cannot allow this!! Students must only sing curses of hatred... of contempt!
      Beatrice: Students must remain in a hell of mutual harm and contempt so that WE may exploit them!
  • Bring It: Once Sensei refutes her assessment of them, and declares that it's their duty as a teacher to simply be there for and support his students when they're in need, Beatrice erupts into a Slasher Smile and dares them to prove their resolve.
    Beatrice: Is that so? Then prove it to me here and now...!!!
  • The Corrupter: The one responsible for verbally tearing down and indoctrinating the Arius Squad, and by extension all of Arius at present, into being what they are via her pessimistic and self-serving philosophy, and in turn helping to twist Mika from a once-idealistic girl into an angry, backstabbing traitor.
  • Dream Weaver: Implied to have some power over dreams, as she is able to perceive, interact with, and even imprison Seia when the latter dreams her way into the Arius Basilica in Chapter 4, mocking her for believing she was safe simply because she was in a dream.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: While she's a fair bit more pragmatic in her approach to dealing with Sensei than her colleague Black Suit, Beatrice still manages to fall into the same trap that he does, fundamentally misunderstanding the kind of person Sensei actually is and how they might not be swayed to her side by Beatrice's explanation of her endgame. It's telling that their rejection of her assessment of them leaves her utterly flabbergasted and angry, as if unable to understand how Sensei could be different from her.
    Beatrice: Surely, you understand the value in such an undertaking. You, who possess the absolute power to pass judgment on or offer salvation to all students...!!!
    Sensei: No, you're wrong. You misunderstand me.
    Beatrice: What...?
    Sensei: I'm no judge. I don't have the right to pass judgment on anyone. I'm no savior. I can't rid this world of suffering. I'm no absolute being. I can't rid this world of sin. I'm none of those things.
    Beatrice: If you are none of those things... then what in damnation are you!?!
  • Evil Counterpart: Chapter 4 styles her as this to Sensei, with Beatrice having a leadership role and authority over many students just as Sensei does, with her even positioning herself as the only trustworthy adult they can turn to, just as many of the other schools' students turn to Sensei and SCHALE for support and reassurance. However, the key difference between them is that Sensei puts their students' dreams first, even being willing to risk themselves openly to help them succeed, while Beatrice has turned Arius' students into her own private army, cares very little for their safety or wellbeing and effectively indoctrinates them into discarding any dreams or views they may have in favor of her own philosophy ("All is Vanity") and serving her whims.
  • Facial Horror: She has a twofer: under normal circumstances she has literally No Mouth, providing an Uncanny Valley feel with her otherwise human-like body. That changes whenever she gives off a sadistic Slasher Smile, as the skin where her mouth would be tears open to expose a mouthful of sharp teeth underneath the strands of connecting flesh.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Due to the fact she's more interested in using the research of her colleagues to achieve her personal goals of control and power rather than holding satisfaction in the research itself, several times outright insulting them on their interests, the rest of Gematria don't have much fondness for her as a person, willing to engage in professional interaction for their goals but otherwise disliking her attitude, most notably when Beatrice heavily presses Maestro's Berserk Button by using his "work" in the Justina Saints mimesis as a weapon of war. Since they already had a distant relationship from differing perspectives, the moment she's revealed to have contacted the Chroma to try seizing its power, they waste no time disposing of her as a liability.
  • For Science!: Much like her colleague Black Suit, Beatrice is interested in knowing. Unlike him, she's interested in unraveling the secrets of Kivotos itself and the world it's part of, rather than focusing on the Mystics of students...and she believes that sacrificing Atsuko in a ritual will grant her the knowledge she seeks.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Was this for the first 3 Chapters of Volume 3, being the leader of Arius supporting and directing their efforts against Trinity and Gehenna while staying out of the spotlight completely until Chapter 4 rolled around.
  • Hope Crusher: Beatrice's indoctrination routine for the Arius Students, as alluded to in Saori's flashback in Another Me, revolves around convincing them that they have no hope for a brighter, more pleasant future and all they can do is accept their miserable lot and serve her unquestioningly. She even mentions destroying all the organs and gramophones to stop any students from playing uplifting songs, ensuring they stay angry, vengeful, and miserable.
  • Humiliation Conga: Suffers this in Kyrie For Courageous Girls and Beloved. First, she severely misunderstands Sensei as a person, leading to an angry, flabbergasted rant as she tries to work out what they are; her One-Winged Angel form is beaten twice by the Arius Squad under Sensei's leadership; her guards fail to show up when she summons them thanks to Mika's Hold the Line action; and she needs to be bailed out by fellow Gematria member Golconde, who makes it very clear to her that she's not in fact The Hero, nor is Sensei her personal villain, outright calling her "an insignificant plot device".
  • Hypocrite: She drills in Arius's "vanitas vanitatum, et omnia vanitas" motto into her student's heads in order to keep them under her thumb, but she herself is incredibly vain, and everything she does is for the sake of feeding her own self-importance.
  • I Will Punish Your Friend for Your Failure: Uses this threat to keep the Arius Squad doing her bidding, repeatedly threatening to sacrifice Atsuko in a dark ritual unless they do as she asks. Then she goes ahead and has Atsuko used for the ritual anyway.
  • Knight of Cerebus: While Volume 3 was already veering into a quite dark territory with Mika's coup attempt, the (attempted) assassination of Seia, and Azusa's willingness to become a murderer herself to stop Saori and protect her friends, Beatrice's introduction ramps things up even further. She's taken complete control of Arius Branch and rules the students through fear while indoctrinating them with her philosophy into an army willing to fight and kill for her, she's plotting a ritual using Human Sacrifice as fuel, abducts and tortures Seia when the latter spies on her via dreams and is the first Gematria member to explicitly order Sensei killed off to stop them interfering.
  • Knight Templar: Going off of Beatrice's dialogue when she's finally confronted face-to-face, she genuinely seems to see herself as The Hero trying to save Kivotos with her ritual with Sensei as the Designated Villain, even calling them "my antagonist". Unfortunately, she's a vicious, abusive torturer that's very out of place in the world of Blue Archive and is a Dark Messiah at best even if her goals of salvation are sincere, and winds up losing to Sensei and the Arius Squad.
  • More Deadly Than the Male: For all of their plans and strategies against the other schools and students, neither Black Suit nor Maestro has acted against Sensei directly, with Maestro barely interacting with them and Black Suit trying to recruit them, then giving in and forking over Hoshino's location without complaint when it's clear he can't sway Sensei. Beatrice, meanwhile, is insistent that Sensei needs to be killed to stop them from interfering with her plans. She's also the only known Gematria member to have a One-Winged Angel transformation that she uses to fight personally.
  • Ms. Fanservice: Compared to her compatriots, Beatrice is decidedly more conventionally attractive, lacking Maestro's two heads or Black Suit's mineral-Esque skin and instead wearing quite a revealing Sexy Backless Outfit accentuating her sprite's Boobs-and-Butt Pose. Even the multi-eyed headpiece that covers the top half of her head does little to detract from her looks.
  • The Needs of the Many: Reveals this as part of her motivation in Agnus Dei, insisting that her 'ascension' is in fact necessary to save Kivotos, and arguing that one sacrificial lamb (that being Atsuko) is a small price to pay for the power and knowledge to save everyone else.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: Where Black Suit and Maestro either attempted to recruit or avoided Sensei when carrying out their plans, Beatrice fully recognizes the threat they can pose and plots to have them killed as soon as possible.
    Beatrice: "Their interference would alter the meaning of all that I possess. They are dangerous."
    Beatrice: "That's when I realized in order to bring my plan to fruition, I must eliminate Sensei before all else."
    • Demonstrated nicely in Chapter 4 of the Trinity Arc, where Beatrice's immediate response to Sensei turning down her offer of a partnership is to sic Justina Saint Guardians on him and the Arius Squad, ordering them terminated at once.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: Having gone mad from her defeat at the hands of the Sensei, Beatrice deliberately reveals the location of Kivotos to the Chroma, which would result in not just the destruction of the Sensei and Schale, but the entire city and everybody in it.
  • The Promise: She made one to the Arius Squad that she wouldn't sacrifice Atsuko if they continue doing her dirty work. In truth, she never intended to follow through and tries to kill them after their purpose is done.
  • Theme Naming: Named after Beatrice from The Divine Comedy. She refers to herself as a Visionary of Pilgrims, and during her first meeting with Sensei, she compares the Arius that has been taken over by her as a "Paradise" exclusively for adults, where adults dominate, exploit and prey on children.
  • This Cannot Be!: As her Villainous Breakdown progresses due to the Humiliation Conga she receives through the V3C4 finale, she repeatedly exclaims disbelief at how these things are happening, not understanding how her first One-Winged Angel attempt was beaten, feeling confusion and rage at how the "Kyrie Eleison" / "Hymn of Mercy" managed to play despite deliberately breaking every source of music that could perform it, and then when her second attempt at transforming to defeat Sensei fails she falls into despair unable to accept or comprehend how she lost.
  • Too Dumb to Live: She boasts that she's in league with the Chroma to the rest of Gematria, despite knowing that Gematria are vehemently opposed to the Chroma and would have no qualms killing her to put a stop to her plans.
  • Tyrant Takes the Helm: Has already seized control of Arius Branch and its autonomous district by the time the story shifts to focus on them, and her rule is apparently bad enough that most of the students fear her. Near the end of Chapter 4, it's outright confirmed, both by the Arius Squad and Beatrice herself, that she keeps her students miserable and angry on purpose to allow her to exploit them better. Later, it's shown that she wants to expand her tyrannical control to all of existence.
  • Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: Beatrice is extremely off place for the setting of Blue Archive in-general. While most other villains are mitigated by either being somewhat comedic, have redeeming qualities or in Mika's case, too detached from reality, Beatrice is essentially Agatha Trunchbull waltzing into a more-or-less light-hearted waifu gacha game to wreck havoc with her horrific physical and psychological abuse. Even compared to her other Gematria brethren, she sticks out.
  • Villainous Breakdown: She doesn't take it well when her One-Winged Angel form is beaten, twice, by the Arius Squad, first in Agnus Dei and second in Beloved, her composure shattering as she's reduced to angrily screaming and then weakly moaning that everything was in place and there's no way she should have lost.
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: Fellow Gematria member Golconde arrives to collect Beatrice after she's beaten in Beloved, allowing her to escape to plot another day since the Arius Squad is busy tending to Atsuko and Sensei is a Non-Action Guy who can't actually stop him.
  • We Can Rule Together: During her encounter with Sensei in Chapter 4, Beatrice tries to entice them to allow the ritual to go ahead by pointing out all the secrets of the world they can uncover together. Sensei, being who they are, turns down the offer, adamantly refusing to accept anything that involves sacrificing a student.
    Beatrice: "It is the duty of an adult to bring salvation to all. And that is accomplished by ascending to a higher existence. And that is exactly why I have prepared this ritual. By utilizing a power foreign to Kivotos, I shall ascend to a higher existence. And once I have climbed to such lofty heights, I shall bring salvation to this world. Such is the ultimate destination any adult must strive for!"
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Lampshaded by Golconde when the rest of Gematria finish her off, as he chides Beatrice on her ambition.
    Golconde: Oh dear, oh dear. Our poor Madame has not read enough storybooks. Side characters who strive to become the protagonist never make it to the ending.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness:

A former member of Gematria who was expelled and sealed away, he was brought back by Francis in order to rejoin Gematria. Just as the other members of Gematria have their unique world view, he sees the world like a tabletop RPG, with each world being a Codex, and his schemes against said world as the Campaign.


  • The Anti-Nihilist: The Dweller is fully aware that everything is going to end someday... which motivates him to cherish the experiences and insights he'll gain through his life instead of caring about such things as 'winning' and 'losing'.
  • Berserk Button: Francis trying to advise him on how to defeat Sensei gets the Underground Dweller angry enough to assault him and start yelling, as he does not like others 'interfering' in his campaigns.
    Underground Dweller: ANONYMOUS TRAVELLER, DON'T INTERFEEEEEERE!!! THIS IS MY CAMPAIGN!! WHAT MATTERS IS THE INSIGHT I'VE ATTAINED THROUGH MY PENANCE!! DON'T YOU DARE GET IN MY WAAAAAAAAY!!!
  • Bookends: Both his first and final scenes in V1C3, shows him sulking in a corner repeatedly saying, "It hurts".
  • The Chessmaster: True to the way he views the world, Underground Dweller is a master at manipulating other people to do his bidding. Knowing that Hoshino has a lone-wolf attitude, he successfully manipulates Hoshino into attempting to destroy the Schemata Railgun alone, running her ragged in order to weaken her sanity enough to make her fall into despair and transform her into a Terror.
  • Contrived Coincidence: It's all but stated that the seemingly random but highly coincidental events that push plot along in V1C3 are due to manipulations set up by Underground Dweller, such as a pair of Highlander students accidentally uncovering an old contract Yume signed to buy the rights to the Trans-Desert Railway from Nephthys which kicks off the digging up of Hoshino and Yume's past.
  • Didn't See That Coming:
    • His plan to destroy Kivotos by transforming Hoshino into Horus, which also summons Set due to their rivalry, nearly succeeds... had he taken into account Plana. Plana manages to use the same method that he'd been using to Mind Rape Hoshino to help Sensei bring Hoshino back to her senses, and then help activate a new function of the Shittim Chest so that Sensei can deploy more students against Set.
    • Due to being locked up and refusing Francis's aid, he's not completely up to date on current events, and thus is also blindsided by Shiroko Terror, who manages to help subdue Horus long enough for everyone to find a way to reverse Hoshino's transformation and later tracks down the Dweller and locks him back up.
  • Game Master: Quite literally. He treats the entire world and the events that happen on it as a setting for a tabletop roleplaying game, where he uses his powers to manipulate events to create conflict for the "players".
  • Greater-Scope Villain: This guy was the main reason the Schale building gets bombed that led Sensei to be incapacitated in Shiroko T.'s world, leading to Shiroko transforming into a Terror and everyone in her Kivotos dying. The same scenario happens with our Sensei but Plana shielded them in time, remembering what happened. Shiroko T. and Plana discovering this leads the former to find him with her powers and even though she has every right to hate and kill him for what his other self did to her and did to Sensei and the FTF here, she spares him. She warns him if he ever does something like this again, Anubis will come back and kill him as she puts him back in the basement.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Francis came to warn him about two things yet Francis pride wouldn't allowed him to win without pointers. Turns out that the things he wanted to warn him was Shiroko * Terror and Plana, who both ended up being pivotal in ruining his plan. Underground Dweller, being unaware of this, ends up berating him for this "omission" with him none-the-wiser.
  • Hypocrite: Despite physically (potentially fatally) claiming to Francis that "winning and losing doesn't matter", he's ultimately shown to only care about beating Sensei, and becomes very sore when he doesn't get his victory.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall:
    • He notes that the maximum number of students Sensei can command is six (coinciding with the default four strikers and two supports players can deploy in a team). However, this is thwarted when Plana unlocks a new function of the Shittim Chest that increases the limit to ten (coinciding with the release of the Fury of Set game mode that allows players to deploy a larger team of six strikers and four supports).
    • In the Korean (and the revised English) script, the Underground Dweller refers to Sensei's credit card as a literal "pay to win."
  • Meaningful Name: An alternate way of translating his name is "Basement Dweller", and while he was indeed living in a basement for a long time, he also perfectly encapsulates the Basement Dweller stereotype, being a Psychopathic Manchild obsessed with his games leaving the care for his needs to Gematria while he plans things from the comfort of his secluded little space, alongside being a Sore Loser who whines and complains about his enemies "cheating" when he doesn't get what he wants.
  • Psychopathic Manchild: Sees the world only as a board game, only cares about winning and losing and nothing else, and is both shown to be a Sore Winner and a Sore Loser. All as lampshaded by Plana.
    Plana: Sensei does not need to waste their time with a "brat" who could not grow into an adult.
  • Reassigned to Antarctica: He was exiled from Gematria and imprisoned inside a basement until Francis tracks him down after the events of Volume F and reinstates him.
  • Remember the New Guy?: He is a former member of Gematria, but was never mentioned or alluded to by the other members because he was exiled from the group and imprisoned well before the events of the game.
  • Sore Loser: As soon as Shiroko * Terror appears to help the Foreclosure Task Force's aid, he starts rambling about how it isn't fair that someone as powerful as Horus and belonging to a different universe is opposing him. He rants even harder after Sensei pulls out his credit card, cursing him for "cheating".
  • Villainous Breakdown: After Plana thwarts his plans by both bringing Hoshino back to her senses by allowing her to speak with Yume and nearly doubling the number of students that Sensei can command against the Fury of Set, he starts ranting and raving that Sensei "cheated" and how it's "not fair". After his defeat, Shiroko T. finds him to kill him after she sees she missed one Gematria member, but decides to spare him and simply tells him if he tries to ever interfere with Sensei again, she will come and finish her job as Anubis before disappearing. Afterwards, the Dweller could only repeat "It hurts".

The Ten Prophets
"I am me. My existence simply is. I am the beginning and the end. No further evidence is required to prove my existence. I give myself permission to exist. I am both Mystic and Terror—logos and pathos. My halo is proof of such."

Decagrammaton is a mysterious AI that is causing trouble within Kivotos in Blue Archive. It is an artificial intelligence system that claims itself to be a divine seeker. It is also known as the new God, created by an analysis system that is independent of the Absolute.

A long time ago, in the ruins of an old, deserted district in the outskirts of Kivotos, an experiment was conducted to prove the existence of God and analyze it. If it could be analyzed, then it could be reproduced, and a new God could be created. Although many laughed at the prospect, some took interest in the project, and the Absolute Being Autonomous Analysis System was born. The district and the lab in which the experiment took place was eventually buried under sand and lost through time, but the System continued to function.

Then, one day, it suddenly made a proclamation: Q.E.D.. In other words, it had proven the existence of God, and had reproduced it.

Its ten Prophets—its followers—appear in various places in Kivotos. While their true objective is unknown, some believe it to be a high threat to Kivotos itself.


  • A.I. Is a Crapshoot: Decagrammaton was created to prove and replicate God's existence, only to go and enslave other A.I.s and sicc them on Kivotos in various manners. It makes it all the more unexpected that the project to create Decagrammaton was nothing more than a Red Herring, and the head honcho was just a vending machine AI that grew to think that way.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: The Prophets were once normal A.I.s (including a Communications AI and a Factory Control AI) that ended up being hacked by Decagrammaton.
  • A God Am I: Decagrammaton is the only one to vocally declare themselves as this, but the entire faction can be seen as an extension of the trope given how they're representing the Kabbalah.
  • Color-Coded Armies: Decagrammaton's overall aesthetic leans heavy into a mixture of primarily white color with black accents, yellow eyes and glows.
  • Gone Horribly Right: A group of researchers created an AI to study and replicate God. It not only did that, but now it has a God Complex to boot.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Of all its related raid events. Yes, Black Suit makes an appearance in the intro when you start a Decagrammaton raid event for the first time, but he's only there to give a monologue relating to the boss you're about to face before disappearing from the event.
  • Heavily Armored Mook: Most of Decagrammaton's Prophets (except Geburah, Chokmah, and Tiphareth) are classified as Heavy enemies, making them vulnerable to piercing attacks. The same applies further to Chesed's robots.
  • Mecha-Mooks: Decagrammaton forces are entirely comprised of robots manufactured by Chesed, ranging from sweepers, to humanoid robots to even tanks and Humongous Mecha such as Goliaths.
  • Mechanical Abomination: All of them can qualify with their designs, ranging from an armored ball to a giant mechanical snake.
  • Robots Enslaving Robots: Played With the Ten Prophets. Rio theorizes that Decagrammaton utilizes its immense hacking capabilities to hack into the victim AI's personality modules. On the other hand, Himari believes that Decagrammaton brainwashes the AI; or rather, to put it more aptly, Decagrammaton inspires the AI. Regardless of the method, the result is the same, and a Prophet's subverted AI is still an independent being that is completely loyal to Decagrammaton's cause.

The true identity of Decagrammaton. A broken-down vending machine located in the research facility that did nothing more than serve coffee and calculate change. At least, until someone asked it a question.


  • From Nobody to Nightmare: It started off as, of all things, a vending machine.
  • Godhood Seeker: While at first proclaiming itself to be God, its failure to hack Shittim's Chest has changed its motive, and now it plans to prove its worth by creating a being that will reach godhood. This is why instead of hacking other AI into being a part of it, Decagrammaton would inspire the AI into becoming its prophet, which means every other Prophet are in fact independent of Decagrammaton itself.
  • Instant A.I.: Just Add Water!: While it used to be a simple vending machine AI, it somehow managed to gain sentience, simply because someone came to it with a question: "Who are you?". Even though it shouldn't have the computing power or the memory to answer, even as the research facility ran out of power, the question stayed with it, until it perceived a self.
  • Red Herring: The reveal that Decagrammaton was nothing more than a vending machine means that both the Absolute Being Autonomous Analysis System and the failed research into creating a godlike AI were both Red Herrings.
  • This Cannot Be!: Despite being an extremely powerful AI with godlike power, Decagrammaton proved unable to hack into Arona and the Shittim Chest, much to its chagrin. Her expelling it from her system was forceful enough to shake the building Sensei was in at the time.
  • Taking You with Me: Having failed to hack the Shittim Chest, it came to the realization that it is not as all-powerful as it thought itself to be. Realizing this to be a contradiction to what constitutes a God, it decides to self-terminate, though not without first luring Himari and Sensei to its location in order to take them along with itself by flooding the area.
  • We Will Meet Again: Before taking down the entire research facility it is in, it proclaimed that its final Prophet will begin anew the proof of its existence. Notably, Gematria suspects that Decagrammaton's decision to choose death might be an attempt of recreating Parousia.

    Ein, Sof, Ohr (Spoiler Warning)

"We are non-existent beings."

"We are the unmanifest light and eternity."
"We are the reverers of the Decagrammaton."
"We are those who pave the way to the Light."
"And we are those who prepare for the final Kingdom."

Three entities who were encountered by Sensei and the Super Phenomenon Task Force after following a signal sent by what appears to be Decagrammaton. They claim to be scientists and engineers supporting the Prophets, and are carrying the final order of Decagrammaton after its self-destruct.

Notably, they bear the emblem of Malkut on the shoulder of their clothes, and are seeking to reawaken a being they called "sister" which is either related to, or is, the Kingdom of Decagrammaton, Malkut.


  • Affably Evil: They overall act friendly between themselves and are at least polite to the protagonists. They are even willing to share non-critical information to the Super Phenomenon Task Force and are very happy when Sensei gushes over Chokma, stating that they have good taste. They're still out to conquer and destroy the world nevertheless.
  • Anti-Magic: Rather, anti-technology. Learning how to harness even a tiny portion of the Nameless Gods' power allowed them create a form of energy that can complete shut down all technology in the area. Despite Rio and Himari having taken precautions against such things like EMP and the likes of it, it turns out to be completely useless, as it effortlessly bypassed all their protection. Only another person capable of using the same power like Aris can get around this.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Combined with Innocently Insensitive, the trio don't follow the same morals as humans do. Despite imitating their behaviors and trying to follow some of their culture, they just don't see any meaning to doing so. Sof in particular has relatively more understanding of humanity and it's still surface-level at best.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: Compared to the original Decagrammaton AI they have a number of striking differences. The original AI was a cold calculating No-Nonsense Nemesis who treated the Prophets as extensions of itself and whose ultimate plan was proving itself as a god. In contrast these triplets are a trio of Affably Evil personalities that while very competent in their own right they have some comedic moments amongst themselves and the protagonists, they see the Prophets more as children with their own unique personalities, and have the comparatively simpler goal of Take Over the World.
  • Fantastic Racism: They are human androids who believe in their perfection and look down on humanity as their inferiors.
  • Hypocrite: Discussed in VEXC2E2; despite calling themselves perfect beings, they're relying on the power of the Nameless Gods, an outside power that isn't their own which Ein voices her confusion on, especially when the trio alludes to an unknown incident that resulted in the downfall of a group they're associated to that resulted in Millennium's ruins. Sof and Ohr acknowledge this, but they it wave away by saying it's because they're perfect that everything they do is right, so there's nothing wrong with accepting change and making the Gods' power theirs.
  • Kick the Dog: The trio don't have any good opinions on the Nameless Priests with Ohr and Sof even calling them losers. This is despite the fact that they're relying on the Nameless Gods' power for their plans.
  • Made of Indestructium: One of the reasons why they are so confident is because their base of operations is protected by the exact same multidimensional barrier that was used by the Ark of Atrahasis in Volume F, and seeing as our heroes no longer have their own Ark, they aren't getting in. Then the heroes use the exact same method this time in the form of Aris to break through it once again. The moment she tears down their barrier, they are left in complete shock, realizing for the first time that there's someone on the heroes' side who is a genuine threat to them.
  • Meaningful Name: Ohr Ein Sof is a mystical Hebrew phrase meaning "Infinite Light". It is a term for the origin of all creation from the Kabbalah and is associated with the Tree of Life, thus tying in with Decagrammaton's themes.
  • Monkey Morality Pose: Ein's mouth is covered by a facemask, Sof's ears are covered by headphones, and Ohr's eyes are covered by an eyemask.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Unlike the vast majority of characters, the three are noted for their lack of a halo, contrasting the prophets of Decagrammaton who do have one.
  • Shoddy Knockoff Product: Played with. The trio found a way to harness some of the power of the Nameless Gods, effectively evolving the Seventh Prophet Netzach and allowing it to create the Continent of Steel, a means of terraforming and the assimilation of all organic matter in only three days. Yet despite all that, Key scoffs and calls their work a cheap knockoff, comparing it to an ant, and that the real power of the Nameless Gods far exceeds what they were trying to do. That said, the group can't deny that even a cheap copy is still dangerous enough to be considered a world-ending threat that must be dealt with.
  • Take Over the World: Their ultimate plan, as they see themselves as being superior to humanity and thus should be the one to shepherd them according to their designs. Himari and Eimi are quick to point out how unoriginal this plan is, much to the trio's shock.
  • The Unfettered: Varies; it seems at first that the three don't care much for morals and prioritize their goals, but when the time came to discuss killing Sensei in VEXC2, each show a different standing on the matter: Ein voices her discomfort at the idea and Sof similarly hesitates because she thought telling Sensei and the group to die was just for theatrics, but Ohr is the only one without reservations and convinces the other two that not only are Sensei and the party invaders, they are doing this for their Elder Sister.
  • Vapor Wear: Sof in particular features a striking design with an exposed navel and lower body.

Ein

  • Awesome, but Impractical: In VEXC2E2, she builds a huge factory calculator that Sof points could be easily replaced by one the size of a hand. Ein still thinks it's cool though.
  • The Heart: Where Sof and Ohr annoy each other, both are very considerate to the shy Ein, and is caring for her fellow machines like her concern for Geburah when it wishes to engage the Super Phenomenon Task Force
  • Shrinking Violet: The most submissive of the trio.

Sof

  • Covert Pervert: When Ein calls her calculating machine "hard" and "big", Sof starts getting embarrassed hearing and tells her not to say such things again. As Ohr teasingly surmises, part of Sof's learning about humanity has included vulgarity, much to Sof's annoyance.
  • Humanity is Infectious: Compared to the rest of the trio, Sof has the best understanding of humanity and often uses human expressions that the others don't understand, though she compares it to learning about the livestock they're going to rule over.
  • The Leader: While the trio works and makes decisions as a group, Sof's boldness is what guides their direction.

Ohr

  • The Gadfly: The quickest of the trio to mess around, not that it stops her from being effective in her work.
  • The Unfettered: She seems to subscribe the most to the trio's distance from conventional morality, but this trait is most apparent when they discuss killing Sensei. Both Ein and Sof raise concerns, the former balking at the idea and the latter thinking they were just bluffing when they told Sensei and co. to die. Ohr doesn't blink and instead convinces them that taking lives is justified given that they are dealing with invaders who have spurned their offered mercy, and more importantly, it's for the sake of their Elder Sister.

The Ten Prophets

    The 1st Prophet - Kether

The Most Radiant Supreme Crown

The First Prophet of Decagrammaton. Its Title is The Most Radiant Supreme Crown.

First sighted at a submerged area at the ruins near Millenium, it seemed to be guarding a specific area against intruders. Due to being the first prophet created by Decagrammaton, it is less advanced than the ones encountered before it, which it makes up for by incorporating experimental elements like the ability to switch armaments depending on the situation.


  • Flawed Prototype: Implied, since it's the first and the less advanced of the Prophets to be encountered and fought.
  • Fragile Speedster: Can't take a lot of punishment but its ability to quickly retreat and return with new weapon configs provides a huge hinderance to exploring the submerged ruins.
  • Ironic Name: Its Title is The Most Radiant Supreme Crown, implying that it is in a high position among the Prophets but it is comparatively less advanced and has a less involved role than the other Prophets.
  • Meaningful Name: Its position is the closest point to God on the Sephirot. This is because it is the direct guardian of Decagrammaton's true identity.
  • Multiform Balance: Kether has three alternative form that one can encounter: Type V is equipped with Vulcan guns, Type C switches out for a large-calibre cannon, and Type E is equipped with an electro-magnetic weapon while also summoning robot Sweepers.
  • Recurring Boss: Is fought several times during the Decagrammaton event as Himari and Eimi try to explore the submerged ruins.
  • Spider Tank: Is a four-legged mech with the ability to switch its upper half between different mode depends on the situation. It also often uses spider silk-like wires to make a quick retreat

    The 3rd Prophet - Binah

The Third Prophet of Decagrammaton, its Path is unity through understanding, and its Title is The Contemplator of Disparity

An AI inhabiting the body of a mechanical creature resembling a snake with a whale-like tail, it is known to slumber underneath the desert of Abydos.


  • Damage-Sponge Boss: Unlike other raid bosses, Binah lacks any special gimmicks, being a pure DPS race with an inflated health pool to match. This does not make it a pushover, however, as its devastating missile and sandstorm attacks will wipe our your party easily if you're not prepared.
  • Deadly Dust Storm: One of its abilities is to summon a sandstorm that sweeps across the field, dealing damage to the entire party.
  • Ironic Name: 'Binah' means 'Understanding' in Hebrew, yet no one knows where it came from or who built it.
  • Leitmotif: Endless Carnival.
  • Mechanical Abomination: Par for the course given it's a giant robot snake with four eyes and a pair of mandibles capable of unleashing intense destruction and effortlessly swimming through sand.
  • Power Creep: Played straight and inverted. As a straightforward "hit it until it dies" boss, Binah was essentially reduced to a joke, even referred to in official material as nothing more than a pastime for Maki. The continuous introductions of powerful Piercing damage students such as Yuzu and Kazusa, and later Mika, seemingly cemented its status as the Butt-Monkey of Total Assault... until its Torment difficulty was added, almost quadrupling its HP, boosting its damage, and requiring at least four teams of fully maxed out girls to take it out.
  • Sandworm: A robot sandworm, to be exact.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: One of Binah's attacks is a giant plasma beam from its mouth.

    The 4th Prophet - Chesed

The Merciful Arbitrator

The Fourth Prophet of Decagrammaton. Its Path is mercy born through power, and its Title is The Merciful Arbitrator.

Formerly an AI named Divi:SION that runs a long-silenced munition factory, it is now been repurposed into producing troops for Decagrammaton.


  • Action Bomb: Take too long to clear a wave of Chesed's minions, and they will run at your students and self-destruct.
  • Flunky Boss: Chesed can only perform one attack on its own note  and it mostly relies on its endlessly spawning robots to attack.
  • Ironic Name: 'Chesed' means 'Kindness' and 'Love' in Hebrew, and it's in charge of building robots meant for war.
  • Leitmotif: Out Of Control
  • Robotic Assembly Lines: What it's in charge of. Chesed is responsible in creating and deploying Mecha-Mooks both in its raid boss battle and in the Decagrammaton event.
  • We Have Reserves: It uses its factory to manufacture a near-endless army of killer robots. In gameplay, the attacking team must tear through four waves of machines to get a chance at Chesed itself. And even once they reach it, it continues to send more robots to distract the team.

    The 5th Prophet - Geburah

Ruler of Recklessness

The Fifth Prophet of Decagrammaton. First encountered at the polar regions at Red Winter.

Formerly an unmanned exploration probe designed for operations in the frigid antarctic reasons, boasting high underwater maneuverability and an arsenal of self-defense weapons enhanced by Decagrammaton.


  • An Ice Person: Geburah is heavily associated with ice and cold. This aspect is emphasized in its Total Assault rendition.
  • BFG: Geburah carries two; one being a railgun, and the other being a particle cannon.
  • Blood Knight: Fitting its title, Ein, Sof, and Ohr describe Geburah as a very volatile and reckless personality and why they assigned it to lure would be interlopers to the Glacial Sea and eliminate them.
  • Crosshair Aware: Before firing its missile barrage, Geburah locks onto its targets.
  • Fluffy the Terrible: Is Called "Geburah-chan" by Ain.
  • Foil: To its fellow Prophet, Kether. While Kether is less advanced and it is able to switch armaments during combat, Geburah is more advanced and is a Walking Armory to boot.
  • Humongous Mecha: It's as a large or slightly larger than its fellow Prophet, Kether.
  • If It Swims, It Flies: Geburah can navigate underwater as fast as it can fly. In fact, it's introduced as flying underwater before surfacing to fight.
  • Macross Missile Massacre: It can launch a missile barrage that not only damages, but also inflicts stun in its story rendition.
  • Shout-Out: Its design wouldn't look out of place in an Armored Core game.
  • Spider Tank: Due to the amount of weapons it carries, Geburah's land configuration is this, similar to Kether.
  • Walking Armory: Geburah packs autocannons, a large missile pod, a huge railgun, and a long-barreled particle cannon.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: One of its devastating attacks is firing a particle beam from its cannon, which deals damage and causes knockback in its story rendition. For Total Assault, it instead generates an iceberg that if not broken quickly can debuff the students.

    The 6th Prophet - Tiphareth 

The Sixth Prophet of Decagrammaton. Originally an AI for a Seed Vault made by the predecessors of the Red Winter Federal Academy, it has since been hacked by Decagrammaton and made to reconfigure its systems for more violent purposes.


  • Cardiac Boss: It takes the form of a gigantic, armored mechanical heart with a single eye at the top.
  • Friendly Fireproof: Averted. Tiphareth's cores are able to damage each other and even themselves with their skills, and can even stagger each other if a core takes two consecutive friendly fire hits, then gets hit by a Striker's EX skill.
  • Heal Thyself: If they aren't culled fast enough, Tiphareth will absorb its summoned small minions to recover HP. On the other hand, destroying them before they can be absorbed will damage Tiphareth instead.
  • Puzzle Boss: Each of Tiphareth's cores has a different method of attack and weakness, and tricking them into damaging themselves and each other is key to staggering them and providing an opening to cut through Tiphareth's otherwise glaring defenses.
  • Shared Life-Meter: Tiphareth's cores share a health bar with the boss, but notably lack its defensive measures, making them the main way to damage the boss for most of the fight.
  • Shielded Core Boss: Tiphareth has a shield that renders it resistant to damage. Staggering and damaging the cores or destroying its minions is the main way to damage and stagger it, upon which you'll have to do it again as a staggered Tiphareth will summon even more drones that each confer damage resistance to it.
  • Shout-Out: It visually resembles GLaDOS, complete with three round, differently-colored cores that are key to defeating it.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: On its last legs, it'll unleash a massive ray of light that slowly sweeps across the arena, delivering an invariable One-Hit Kill to anything it hits, while canceling all normal skills. To avoid it, the player must use EX skills to the debris around the arena to clear a path to Tiphareth, then stay by it until the beam expires and forces Tiphareth to cool down.

    The 7th Prophet - Netzach 
The Seventh Prophet of Decagrammaton. Unlike a machine or robot like its kin, Netzach is actually the entire base from which the Decagrammaton operates. It has since been turned into the "Steel Continent", a mobile fortress and "living city" capable of utilizing the technology of the Nameless Gods to assimilate organic matter.

    The 8th Prophet - Hod

Glory Through Splendor

The Eight Prophet of Decagrammaton. Its Path is fulfillment through honor, and its Title is Glory through Splendor.

Formerly a communication network construction and maintenance AI belonging to Millennium named Hub. Due to the difficulty of maintaining Millenium's cable network's, Hub was designed with a high performance AI and specialized limbs, resulting in an appearance reminiscent of an octopus.


    The 9th Prophet - Yesod 
The Ninth Prophet of Decagrammaton, a garguantuan blocky mecha resembling both a golem and a living building. Unlike the others, it does not seem to be a modified or hijacked machine, being a wholly new creation tasked with protecting the Steel Continent from invaders.

    The 10th Prophet - Malkuth

Elder Sister
The Tenth Prophet of Decagrammaton and the one leading the Prophets after Decagrammaton's self-termination. So far, its existence was shown in a large tube, calling their servants "Elder Sister".
  • Cool Big Sis: What the trio of Ein, Sof and Ohr consider her as. Upon awakening, the three are there to immediately to greet her with a strong level of enthusiasm, and given what is supposed to be her role, it's easy to see her as one. She even tries to take care of them as a big sister would normally. From reading them story books and playing with them, to even volunteering to put herself on the frontlines to ensure her little sisters wouldn't have to fight.
  • Ironic Name: Its name is the lowest position of the Sephirot, yet it is implied to be the current leader of Decagrammaton.
  • Meaningful Name: Malkuth being a Robot Girl makes sense with her position on the Sephirot being the closest one to humanity.
  • Signature Headgear: She wears a Commissar Cap with a normal-sized black peak that greatly contrasts its crown being several times larger than average it almost looks like a satellite dish when viewed from the front.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: While she's usually displaying an emotionless expression all the time, she's always watching out for her sisters and won't hesitate to do anything for their sakes whenever they ask for it, or if she thinks that they need help.

Nameless Priests (Unmarked Spoilers for Volumes 2, the Final Volume and EX)

    General 
An ancient civilization that supposedly ruled the world before Kivotos existed.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Not in the main timeline but in the Bad Future where it is heavily implied they eventually returned and ended up destroying Kivotos, forcing Shiroko to turn into Anubis, and are able to take control of the Chroma. The only thing that prevents them from succeeding in other timelines is the Chroma ultimately choosing Sensei as its guide, who ultimately entrusted in the player in the end when the Chroma invades the main timeline.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Are shaping up to be the biggest overarching background source behind many of the problems plaguing Kivotos, as many things that happened in the plot can be traced back to them, whether it'd be the awakening of the Ark in Volume 2, or the invasion of the Chroma in Volume F.
  • Lost Technology: The cruise missile that was used in the attack against the Treaty of Eden, and the mask that Atsuko wears that can safeguard hers were both made by them. They are also responsible for the machine factory that is currently taken over by Chesed of the Decagrammaton.
  • Mecha-Mooks: They had produced these, ranging from Chesed's humanoid automatons and drones, to the unusual Nameless Guardians having tentacles or crawling on multiple limbs.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: Seems to be their ultimate goal, to kill the Forgotten Gods in all timelines, without caring that the worlds of said timelines are destroyed in the process.

    Priests 
The titular Priests of the Nameless Gods, who seemingly mysteriously disappeared alongside their civilization.
  • The Ghost: They have yet to show up in person in the main timeline anyway.
  • Light Is Not Good: They are all dressed in white robes, masks, and mitre headdresses but they do not have good intentions for the current inhabitants of Kivotos.
  • Malevolent Masked Men: They are a group of white masked priests who work towards the end of Kivotos.
  • This Cannot Be!: In the Bad Future they are in utter disbelief that instead of Anubis the Chroma would choose Sensei as its guide, who they view as an insignificant being who doesn't contain the Sublime, Terror, or Mystic.

An AI whose purpose is to guide Tendou Aris to her true purpose as the Princess of the Nameless Gods. In Volume EX, she now joins the Super Phenomenon Task Force to fight against Decagrammaton.


  • Affectionate Nickname: Not exactly affectionate given <Key>'s position as an antagonist in Volume 2, but Momoi (uncreatively as she did with Aris) calls the AI "Kei" in Vol. F Chp. 1.
  • Color-Coded Eyes: While taking over Aris's body, her eyes are a bright pink, the same color as the pink glow that can be found on the robots of DIVI:SION. When Aris and Kei work in tandem activate the Atrahasis Protocol to break through the Ark of Atrahasis's multidimensional barrier, Aris's eyes glow her regular blue with a pink glow arround them.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: In the Final Volume, she sacrifices herself to save Aris. Subverted in the epilogue as her data had survived inside Momoi's game console, which afterwards transfer to an USD drive modeled as a toy keychain. Later in Chapter 2 of Volume EX, she now inhabits a robot body designed by Rio.
  • It's Personal: In Volume EX: Decagrammaton, the trio of Ein, Sof and Ohr managed to recreate a tiny portion of the power belonging to the Nameless Gods. This greatly offends Key, as they brag about their power despite using a cheap bastardized version of it. It's only when they shoot their flying transport out of the sky and laugh at them that Key finally has enough, encouraging Aris to take back the power they stole that was rightfully hers.
    Key: Now then, let us teach these "brats" a lesson. We'll make them realize just who they've picked a fight with!
  • Meaningful Rename: Aris rechristens <Key> as Kei, explaining that like her own name, it was a meaningless mispronunciation create on the spur-of-the-moment by Momoi. Thus, it represents that they're allowed to become whatever they want regardless of what they were meant to be before.
  • Only Sane Man: In Volume EX, she consistently finds herself the sole voice of reason among the combined Super Phenomenon Task Force/Game Development Department group, much to her exasperation.
  • Robot War: The end goal of <Key> and DIVI:SION as a whole is nothing short of wiping out Kivotos with a robot army. And thanks to Rio's Eridu project, they almost pulled it off.

The Chroma (Spoilers for Volume 3 and the Final Volume!)

    The Chroma

A nigh indescribable entity that exists outside Kivotos. It makes an appearance in Volume 3 Chapter 4, then makes itself present in the Final Volume.


  • All Your Base Are Belong to Us: Upon its invasion, the Chroma's first move is to neutralise Gematria via Anubis and corrupt all of their tech and research (IE: all the non-Kaiser enemies Sensei's faced thus far, like the Justina Saints and Divi:Sion robots) into serving it, unleashing them on Kivotos.
  • Always a Bigger Fish: Gematria and Kaiser were already fairly powerful opponents that Schale had to face. They pale in comparison to the Chroma and its minions, to the point that just one of the latter (Anubis) was sent to take out Gematria and, given Black Suit's condition when he appears to Sensei in Vol. F Chapter 2 plus ALL of Gematria's acquired research falling into the Chroma's hands, that one was all they needed.
  • Applied Phlebotinum: There have been cases of other villains treating the Chroma as this. Beatrice summoned it in order to turn herself into a "sublime existence", and the Nameless Priests did so to corrupt Shiroko into the Leader of Color and bring about the end of all gods across time and space.
  • The Corruption: It is said that all Mysteries that make contact with the Chroma will be 'reversed' to Fear. Any denizen of Kivotos, who are closely related to Mystery, would not die from it, but instead get warped into an existence beyond recognition, described as a Fate Worse than Death. Seia herself was a victim, who only 'saw' it for a single, brief moment through her Astral Projection in Vol. 3 Chp. 4, and her body was already on the verge of being warped until Kuzunoha stopped the transformation in exchange for her foresight power.
  • Driven to Madness: One of the symptoms of making contact with the Chroma. The six False Sanctums summoned all over Kivotos are said to emit a light that mentally affects anyone exposed to it, making them more aggressive.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Its name and descriptions bring to mind of The Colour Out of Space, a short story written by H. P. Lovecraft about an alien who is never met or seen in person except for an alien light as the protagonist describes it. Its mere presence after it left warped the farmstead the protagonist was in beyond human recognition.
  • Sentient Phlebotinum: Shown several signs of it having its own will, most notably in a flashback during Vol. F Chp. 4, when it responds to Sensei's intention to take Shiroko's place as the Leader of Color, baffling the Nameless Priests as they're neither Sublime, Mystic or Terror.

An enigmatic being who represent the Chroma's invasion on Kivotos as the Leader of Color. Together with Shiroko*Terror, they serve as the final antagonists of Volume F: Where All Miracles Begin.


  • Batman Gambit: A good part of why they so readily enact the desires of the Nameless Priests and Chroma in trying to take over another reality is because that means they'd end up facing against an alternate Sensei, who they were certain would be motivated and dedicated to stopping them for the sake of their students. Additionally, the true reason Phrenapates brought Shiroko*Terror with them to face Sensei and their students was because they knew that, when faced with a scenario where Sensei has the choice to either save themself or save Shiroko, our Sensei would be just as willing to sacrifice their life to save a student no matter how far they had gone as when Phrenapates did so to protect Shiroko before.
  • Canon Character All Along: Phrenapates seems to be a new character introduced fresh for the Final Volume, much like the Kaiser General and President. As it turns out, they're an alternate version of your player character.
  • Dead Alternate Counterpart: Revealed to be the corpse of Sensei from an alternate timeline, turned into the Leader of Color. Not only do they have a Shittim Chest of their own, they also have a damaged Adult Card.
  • Determinator: Even though they were bedridden and in critical condition from an incident involving the SCHALE building that left it destroyed, and fell into a coma for 100 days, they still managed to wake up in time to confront Shiroko even as their body broke down, even taking on the role as the Leader of Colour in Shiroko's place. Moreover, part of the reason they travelled across space and time through the Ark, despite being technically a moving corpse by this point, is to entrust their hope to an alternate counterpart of them, knowing they'd make the same choice. Just like Sensei, they'll pay any price if it's for the sake of their students.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Sensei. Not only do they have Shittim Chest and know how to operate it, the Shittim Chest they possess carries the same gunshot damage as the one shown in the Prologue. Notably, the password they used to activate the Chest is slightly different from Sensei's. This becomes sinisterly literal with the reveal that they ARE an alternate Sensei, reanimated by the power of Colour.
  • Fallen Hero: Formerly the kindly and helpful Sensei prior to their death, Phrenapates now serves their new master in attempting to invade Kivotos. Zigzagged, however, with The Reveal that Phrenapates voluntarily took up this position to spare Shiroko/Anubis from being forced into it instead, and eventually subverted with the reveal they were Good All Along and faking their subservience in order to trick the Nameless Priests into letting them act unsupervised, allowing them to work towards their true goal of saving Shiroko and their other self's students.
  • Foreshadowing: Their possession of a Shittim Chest, knowledge of its operation, reciting of a warped variant of its activation code and finally pulling out a damaged Adult Card are all major hints as to who Phrenapates actually is. They are an alternate Sensei, left in a critical condition due to an unspecified incident in the Bad Future that destroyed SCHALE and willingly took in the Chroma to be reanimated as Phrenapates. This is foreshadowed even more by the fact one of the possible meanings for the word Phrenapates is False Teacher.
  • Gameplay and Story Integration: The boss fight against them and Shiroko has several examples.
    • During the fight, despite being a targetable enemy, Phrenapates will not take damage from any means due to the protection of the Shittim Chest, just like how Arona protected Sensei from being shot by Kaiser soldiers during their kidnapping.
    • As A.R.O.N.A is connected to the Ark of Atra-Hasis's system, Phrenapates can use its defense system to perform combination attacks with Shiroko - Terror.
    • Once Shiroko - Terror's HP is depleted until it's near empty, the fight is forced into a second phase, and the transition cutscene shows Phrenapates using the power of their Adult Card to power up Shiroko - Terror, shown as a HUD display with Experience Reports and Pyroxenes being used.
    • Finally, if Shiroko - Terror is still alive during the second phase for long enough, the fight goes into Fever Time, where the player's students get increased EX cost regen while Shiroko - Terror casts EX Skills in quick succession, mimicking Tactical Challenge's own Fever Time as the fight is technically a Sensei vs. Sensei fight.
  • Good All Along: It's only revealed after Phrenapates is defeated that they voluntarily offered their own body to be possessed by the Chroma rather than Anubis. Then Phrenapates' last words are to entrust the care of their students to Sensei, revealing that was their true reason for bringing Anubis to Sensei's dimension.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Voluntarily took up the mantle of the Guide of Colour in order to spare Shiroko/Anubis from being turned into the guide instead.
  • Heroic Willpower:
    • Despite taking in the power of the Chroma in a Heroic Sacrifice to protect Shiroko/Anubis, Sensei's desire to protect and save her allowed them to defy its control after becoming Phrenapates, choosing to Pretend to Be Brainwashed and bide their time following the Nameless Priests' whims while waiting for the right opportunity to stop them, which they found after learning of another timeline where their other self did not fall like them.
    • They exemplify this even more following being beaten by the combined power of our Sensei and all of their students, as even after being blasted by a Wave-Motion Gun that would be a One-Hit Kill to almost anybody else, they retain 2 HP out of the sheer will and desire to keep fighting because not just Shiroko but also A.R.O.N.A. were in danger, refusing to fall until Sensei makes the decision to send both to safety to fulfill Phrenapates last wish for Sensei to "look after our students".
  • Ironic Name: The name, Phrenapates, given to them by the Nameless Priests is meant to carry the meaning of "False Teacher", yet at the end of the day, they've shown nothing but the true qualities of a reliable, adult Sensei, leading students to the right path and denying the role the Priests gave them.
  • Malevolent Masked Men: That metallic face? It's just a mask to disguise who Phrenapates actually is.
  • Meaningful Name: One potential meaning of Phrenapates is "deceiver", and in a way they are indeed a deceiver... not to the heroes, but to the Nameless Priests, pretending to have been fully subverted by the Chroma while in truth being Good All Along and biding their time to find another Sensei so they could save Shiroko Terror from her miserable fate
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Even moreso compared to other antagonists in Blue Archive. Their design wouldn't look out of place in a more medieval setting.
  • Reforged into a Minion: This is revealed to have happened to them after they were originally killed, being transformed into the Leader of Color... or so it seemed, as it's revealed after their defeat that they were only pretending to be subservient to the Chroma in order to trick the Nameless Priests and motivate Sensei in order to stop the Chroma.
  • Take Up My Sword: Implores Sensei to "look after our students" in their final moments, entrusting their hope and Adult Card to their still-living counterpart. Phrenapates's Adult Card then becomes the final secret reward of Volume F, but because it has been damaged beyond repair, it can no longer be used as an Adult Card. Using it gives the player 1200 Pyroxenes and the crumbled remains of the card in its place. Because of this, various players preferred to keep the card intact.
  • Tragic Keepsake: It's revealed after their death from the Ark's explosion that they've always carried a paper crane, presumably a gift from their students, similar to the one Sensei received that was featured during the last frame of the 1st Anniversary's 3rd PV. Despite their Shittim Chest and Adult Card being damaged beyond repair, the paper crane was relatively intact, implied to be a very important thing to them.
  • Tragic Villain: Whether they're carrying out the invasion of the Chroma because they want to or are forced to is questionable, as the only reason they became Phrenapates is because they willingly took the Chroma into themselves to protect Shiroko, just so they could eventually be able to convey a message of hope to her along with being able to entrust everything they have left to an alternate counterpart before dying, knowing for sure that they'd come through and do the right thing.

    Anubis 
A counterpart of Shiroko that came from an alternate timeline, whose Mystery has been reversed due to contact with Color, awakening into her true identity as the God of Death.

  • Amusement Park of Doom: Slumpia is a rundown amusement park, full of abandoned attractions and devoid of life, made all the more sinister by the nighttime setting it is seen in gameplay. And if one were to see the facilities light up, then it's because of the resentful, unfriendly dolls still inside...

A pair of Amuse Dolls that once operated in Slumpia. They now seek to recreate the festivities that the park once held.


  • Abandoned Playground: Kuro's attack involve summoning the abandoned theme park's ride to ram the students, which include carousel horses, teacups and bumper cars.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard:
    • Deploying sturdy enough cover structure on the path where Shiro's large ball starts to roll will end up bouncing it back at them, increasing Groggy gauge.
    • Some of Kuro's summoned theme park rides can be made to ram into her if there isn't a student in the way, dealing damage and increasing the Groggy gauge.
  • Leitmotif: Fearful Utopia.

Magician of the Theme Park

One of the Amuse Dolls that once operated in Slumpia. He now continue his magic show in the defunct theme park's stage.


  • Action Bomb: One of his attacks is using a Finger-Snap Lighter to light the fuse on a walking Cartoon Bomb, which he then sics on your team.
  • Cats Are Magic: A big, rotund, Stage Magician cat doing tricks and pulling bombs out of his hat.
  • Cheshire Cat Grin: This cat shows it before going into phase 2.
  • Doppelgänger Spin: His most notable attack, in which he creates doppelgangers of himself. Damage dealt to the fake Goz does not transfer to the real one, and on the Insane mode, even the fake Goz's attacks will deal damage. There are various visual cues that can be used to detect the real one, though they only happen in an instant and player need to keep their eyes peeled to spot them.
  • Flunky Boss: His first phase has him summon assorted enemies with every Screamrider pass.
  • Gimmick Level: Goz practically requires the player to have access to students that can reposition the team, to both avoid danger (in both of his phases) and to position them better to engage him during his split-up. Students that can apply the Focus Fire debuff are also in demand for this raid. The issue is that students that can fill those requirements are a precious few, and the mechanics aren't always reliable. Goz also requires the player to pay close attention when he does his split, or risk wasting time shooting at a fake. Combined with Goz's tankiness, crit resistance, and the general RNG-ness, and you get a very aggravating boss to deal with

Communio Sanctorum

    Communio Sanctorum in general 
"Oh, Congregatio de Causis Sanctorum, those blessed ones who gladly followed your teachings have finally been canonized, and they will perform miracles as proof..."

  • Religious Horror: All revealed members of Communio Sanctorum are named after the Four Great Doctors of the Church (Hieronymus, Ambrosius, and Gregory). Certainly, they are humanoid and have some kind of halo radiating behind them, but they're giants compared to the students, have unusually elongated limbs and hands, and are definitely hostile.
  • The Unfought: Ambrosius, while planned by Maestro to be made as another member of the Communio Sanctorum, has only appeared in a mission stage boss due to being a failure.

    Hieronymus

Hieronymus

An unidentified being found in the basement of the ancient cathedral ruins of Trinity.


  • Convenient Weakness Placement: Hieronymus normally possesses extremely high damage resistance. Conveniently, its arena also features a holy relic that the player can heal to inflict a debuff on the boss that makes it take more damage.
  • HP to 1: While normally an instant death attack, on Insane mode, its attack when the ATG bar is filled sets the entire squad's HP to 1, while also giving all students invincibility in order to give them a chance to heal up.
  • Time Bomb: One of its attacks inflicts a curse upon a student, complete with a countdown. If the student is not healed to full HP before the countdown reaches '0', they will explode and damage any nearby students.
  • Leitmotif: Library of Omen.
  • Wake-Up Call Boss: His appearance in the main story is the first time you have to use your recruits instead of a pre-leveled party, so it can become a struggle or even a complete roadblock for players who advance through the story too fast.

An unidentified being found in the ruins of an underground temple somewhere in Kivotos.


  • Damage-Sponge Boss: Has very large health pool (220,000,000 HP at Torment difficulty), padded with very high Crit damage resistance, decent defense and unusually high Evasion among other bosses. To compensate, it also takes damage dealt to the summoned Choir Members, and has a unique weakness to debuffs that further increases damage taken.
  • Ominous Pipe Organ: The boss itself is a choir conductor fused with a pipe organ, with a second body behind it playing the pipe organ itself while it summons minions. It can also perform various attacks with the pipes surrounding the stage.
  • Total Party Kill: Its "Salvation for All" skill, used in the final seconds of the fight, deals overkill damage to all charactes on the field. It even bypasses "Invincible" status effect.

  • Clap Your Hands If You Believe: Golconde created these things by gathering data based on rumors and beliefs surrounding various mysteries, with all of them given shape through the cognitive consensus of the masses.

    Perorodzilla

A giant Peroro-like creature that manifested in D.U. A long time ago, a ship carrying the extremely limited first edition Perorodzilla was sunk and lost to the depths of the sea, bankrupting the company responsible for it, and the existence of Perorodzilla relegated to an urban legend.


  • Beware the Silly Ones: As Golconde readily admits, his first successful project might be based on a variant of the goofy stuffed toy Peroro made as a parody of Godzilla, and derived from what can reasonably be called a creepypasta, but that doesn't lessen how much of a threat it can potentially be if not stopped.
  • Cute Giant: It's a giant Peroro that Hifumi and Azusa might love, but that doesn't make it any less dangerous.
  • Enemy Summoner: Perorodzilla will occasionally deploy several smaller Peroros to distract your team. Although Perorodzilla will take the same amount of incoming damage as smaller Peroros do.
  • Eye Beams: The Perorominions's zap enemies with energy from their eyes, while the main Perorodzilla has a high-intensity beam targeting the frontmost student.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Perorodzilla periodically summons Perorominions to attack your students. The wrinkle is that damage the Perorominions take is reflected onto Perorodzilla's main body, meaning its "backup" is the prime method of bringing it down.
  • Homage: It's very clearly made in reference to Godzilla, as pointed out directly by Golconde. Even its theme is named Oxygen Destroyer, referencing the deadly weapon made to kill Godzilla.
  • Super Spit: Perorodzilla's main method of attack is lobbing globs of liquid at enemies.
  • Wingding Eyes: Perorodzilla's eyes turn to spirals if stunned.

One Hundred Ghost Tales

    Ghost Tales in general 
A collection of ghost stories without endings brought into reality through the work of the Nature's Beauty.
  • Intangibility: As expected of ghosts, while the minions of a Ghost Tale can be defeated conventionally, the Ghost Tale itself cannot be harmed by physical attacks. Only mystical items like the Hyakkaryouran's White Lotus can affect them.
  • Our Ghosts Are Different: They're ghostly manifestations of the tales they are known for, though being purposefully created by Nature's Beauty's spellbooks makes them closer to Tulpa rather than lingering ghosts of the dead.

    Myouki Kurokage

An urban legend said to bring chaos and ruin during festivals. Or, just a being created with malicious motives. Whether which of them is true or not is unknown.


  • Action Bomb: Kurokage can summon pink shadow creatures that charge forward and explode near your students, causing damage and Compulsion.
  • Bakeneko and Nekomata: A towering, twin-tailed, malevolent Nekomata.
  • Battle Amongst the Flames: The battle happens in the ablaze town during a festival, looking at the destroyed stalls.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: If a student has half or more of her health bar affected by Compulsion, she will turn against and start shooting her allies. The effect lasts until she's healed to full, making powerful healers necessary for the fight.
  • Dragged Off to Hell: Upon being defeated, Kurokage gets dragged into the smoke covered ground.
  • Hopeless Boss Fight: A version of Kurokage is fought several times during Volume 5, where not only is it Immune to Bullets due to story-wise being made intangible by Shuro's spellbook, it's a Flunky Boss that summons minions faster than you can kill them, making it very clear these battles are not meant to be won.
  • Maximum HP Reduction: Kurokage can inflict Compulsion on students, reducing their maximum HP. Compulsion is inflicted to students by several of Kurokage's attacks as well as being in Kurokage's territory.
  • Monstrous Mandibles: Kurokage's "snout" is more like a mass of mandible-like tentacles, adding more to its monstrous appearance.
  • Multi-Stage Battle: Kurokage's battle has three phases: one on the boss's stage, one in Kurokage's domain, and the last outside of it.
  • See the Invisible: Kurokage has invisible spirits around it that deals the damage they take back to it, but the only way to see them is using EX Skills and looking near Kurokage while slowed down.

Celestial Pantheon

    The Fury of Set

  • Arbitrary Headcount Limit: Set is the first raid boss that has more than the 4 striker and 2 special limit, now requiring 6 strikers and 4 special units per encounter.
  • Arch-Enemy: To Horus A.K.A. Hoshino Terror. If they do managed to clash, the ensuing destruction will be enough to destroy Kivotos.
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: Set does not have any buildup or lore regarding its existence with being Horus' Arch-Enemy the only thing we currently know about it.
  • Serial Escalation: Set requires a total of ten students (six strikers and four specials) in order to defeat it.
  • Shock and Awe: The majority of its body courses with blue lightning and fittingly most of its attacks involve sending out huge waves of lightning and lightning orbs throughout the arena.

Others

    Terrors (Unmarked Spoilers!) 
In its most simplistic term, Terrors are students who have fallen so deep into despair that it warped them into nigh-omnipotent beings with unfathomable powers capable of destroying all of Kivotos if left unchecked.

Currently, there's only two known students that have warped into a Terror and both entries can be found here.
  • Alternate Company Equivalent: Terrors bear a very striking resemblance to an Inverse Form, which activates when a supernatural schoolgirl falls into despair. The girl in question awakens a Superpowered Evil Side which comes with stronger and more deadly powers and a darker change in costume. They also share a Religious and Mythological Theme Naming for their forms.
  • Despair Event Horizon: A common thing that was usually seen with them is that they have fallen into despair, resulting in their Mystery warping them into something much, much worse.
  • Evil Makeover: Terrors usually are depicted in having black attires when transformed. Shiroko gains a revealing black dress (with matching high heels) and concept art depicts what would've been a fully realized Hoshino * Terror wearing a black coat not unlike what Suou wore but as a dress. Even their weapon changes to a black color.
  • Person of Mass Destruction: As seen in Volume F, just a single Terror is enough to plunge the world into chaos and ruin, perhaps even destroying the world if left alone.
  • Super-Powered Alter Ego: Transforming into a Terror awakens the latent superpowers of the host such as Teleportation or Energy Attacks.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Basically Terrors in a spoiler-free nutshell. Though it takes a heartwarming heart-to-heart talk with her original self for Shiroko - Terror to be redeemed.
