The Cerise Family

    In General
  • Action Girl: Chloe and Talia are just as capable of kicking butt as their male contemporaries.
  • Badass Family: Most of them have access to either a Keyblade or magic, and are perfectly capable of kicking butt.
  • Floral Theme Naming: Their last name means "Cherry" and each of them has a plant-related name. Chloe and Talia can mean "to bloom", Parker means "Park Keeper" and Professor Cerise's first name, Jared, can mean "Rose".
  • Magic Knight: Most of them have some skill with the Keyblade, and all of them have access to magic.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Dawn quickly tore them down after they returned from Enchancia for leaving Vermilion while a Heartless appeared afterward with only magic users as the city's only defenders.

    Chloe Cerise

Chloe Cerise

Keyblade: Sail Away, Enchancia's Bond

The daughter of the Pokémon Professor for Vermillion City. The day she decides to get her Starter Pokémon, a Sobble, is also the day the Heartless begin to attack the Pokémon World.

  • Adaptational Personality Change: She's more proactive in the fanfic than she is in the anime.
  • Alliterative Name: Chloe Cerise.
  • Awesome Moment of Crowning: The end of Chapter 5 has her crowned Princess of Heart.
  • Big Sister Instinct: When Cedric petrifies Parker, she first burns all the Heartless away before pointing her Keyblade and demanding the sorcerer to free her brother.
  • Blue Is Heroic: Blue is her Color Motif this time, and she's one of the heroes.
  • The Chosen One: She's chosen to become a Princess of Heart.
  • Color Motif: Blue. Her Keyblade is mostly blue, she has the blue colored Sobble and her Enchancia dress and wizard attire is also blue.
  • Composite Character: Her red hair and flower motif brings to mind Kairi — albeit she has a floral name and sea-based Keyblade whereas Kairi has a sea-based name and a flower-based Keyblade — and the fact that she's a Princess of Heart. Her firework magic is based on Donald's Limits from Kingdom Hearts II.
  • Cuteness Proximity: Coos over her Sobble to the point that should anything happen to them, she'll kill everyone and then herself.
  • Elemental Motifs: Water. Her starter is Sobble, her Keyblade is water-themed (and named after a line from "Orinoco Flow" by Enya which talked about traveling across the sea) and her Enchancia dress is sea-based.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Is cringing when King Roland has a Kick the Dog moment on Cedric, stating that it's the equivalent of her kicking Yamper.
  • Fatal Fireworks: Her specialty magic, which she unlocks just in time for the climax of the Enchancia saga.
  • Fiery Redhead: Bright red hair and is ready to get into a battle. Bonus points: her first magic spell is Fire.
  • Fire/Water Juxtaposition: Her main elemental motif is water and the ocean in general, while her elemental magic is fire-related. Moreover, she chooses a Water-starter while Goh chose the Fire-starter.
  • Gratuitous Princess: Has to act like a princess when her family reaches Enchancia and then it's later revealed she is to be crowned a Princess of Heart.
  • Irony:
    • Has a school uniform, Keyblade and starter Pokémon associated with water. But her main magic is Fire.
    • Also, her classmates all allegedly call her a princess, and she hates being called as such, but she's eventually revealed to be a Princess of Heart.
  • Kid Hero: At ten years old, she's pretty young for a Keyblade wielder.
  • Personality Powers: A Fiery Redhead with a lot of passion and inner strength makes her a perfect fit to learn firework magic.
  • Passionate Sports Girl: She's on her school's softball team and her parents never miss any of her games.
  • Playing with Fire: The very first spell she learns is "Fire", and appears to be proficient in it.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to her little brother's Red who is known to think things through before blindly rushing into the heat of things. Fittingly, her signature color is blue.
  • True Blue Femininity: The royal attire and witch outfit she takes as part of her disguise in Enchancia are all shades of blue.

    Parker Cerise

Parker Cerise

Chloe's little brother who is eager to get into the world of Keyblade wielders.

  • Cheerful Child: He's quite happy and cheerful in general.
  • Child Mage: Since he can't summon a Keyblade, he primarily uses magic.
  • Digging Yourself Deeper: When Grimtrix notes how there's no such thing as a "Vermillion Kingdom", Parker states that it's on the edge of Enchancia...the very kingdom they're standing in right now. He then tries to correct himself by stating it's Ever Realm but by then the jig is up.
  • I Warned You: Tried to warn Sofia that Cedric was bad news, but Sofia was just too innocent to believe otherwise. When she finds out for herself, Parker wisely notes it's not a good idea to start bringing this up.
  • Keet: He's practically bouncing off the walls upon learning about the whole Keyblade affair.
  • Kid Has a Point: Wows an entire room of adults looking into the Hex by stating that they should just have Chloe and Tokio ("Horace") enter Westview because they're children, not government personnel, the fact that no children have been seen on the show as of late and that Wanda would never use magic on a child.
Peter Maximoff: ...How old are you again?
    Parker: Five!
  • Leeroy Jenkins: Once he gets his hands on a magic staff, he goes into battle against the Heartless. He nearly got in trouble earlier; when he attacked Cedric to get his hands on the Medusa Stone, Cedric paralyzes him (thankfully it was reversible by shattering said stone).
  • Magic Wand: Obtains one when he and his family go to the Conjurers Convention in the Ever Realm which he uses to join in the fray when Grimtrix. It also helps him channel his Magic Spark spell.
  • Puppy Love: His first instinct on seeing Princess Sofia is to stammer out his name.
  • Tagalong Kid: Gets to join the trip to Enchancia since it's a peaceful world...until Grimtrix brought the Heartless.
  • The Team Normal: For a given definition of normal, as he's the only member of the family who can't summon a Keyblade. He makes do with a magic wand instead.

    Professor Cerise

Professor Jared Cerise

Keyblade: Forward into the Future (FTF)

Father of Chloe and Parker Cerise, his field of research is on the bonds between humans and Pokémon.

  • Action Dad: He's quick to take out both the Heartless Absol and the Large Body to protect his family.
  • Curse Cut Short: Starts calling Grimtrix "Son of a ba—" for petrifying his wife before he's zapped with a Medusa Stone powered wand. When destroyed, it turns out it was "batch of cookies".
  • Named by the Adaptation: He's given the first name "Jared".
  • Shock and Awe: He mostly uses, and specializes in, Thunder magic.

    Talia Cerise

Talia Cerise

Keyblade: The Joy of Painting

Mother of Chloe and Parker Cerise, her job is of a magazine illustrator.

  • Action Mom: The first thing she did upon learning that Chloe is defenseless against Heartless is to go save her daughter herself and uses Stop on a Soldier about to dive her.
  • Art Attacker: The theme of her Keyblade. Chapter 5 reveals that it has the powers of the paintbursh from Epic Mickey, namely the one where it can spray paint thinner.
  • Healing Hands: Healing magic is apparently her specialty, as she brings up to her husband and shows when she heals Sobble.
  • I Am Not Left-Handed: Once the professor believes enough is enough, Talia transforms her Keyblade to release thinner, which she uses to defeat Grimtrix's familiar.
  • Keeping Secrets Sucks: She had a little sister who was horrified about how Talia didn't mention that she was a Keyblade wielder sooner and caused her to run away to obtain her own destiny. She warns Chloe that she can't do this to Goh and she will have to tell eventually.
  • Mundane Utility: Discussed; Parker notes that if she had time magic, she could've stopped him from ruining Chloe's phone.
  • Time Stands Still: Knows Stop, which she uses to freeze a Soldier Heartless before it drops on Chloe.

Party Members

    Sobble

Sobble

The Galarian Water-type starter. Chloe picks them up from the Cerise Institute.

  • The Conscience: Acts like Chloe's conscience in regards to her not letting Yamper in on the Heartless fights.
  • Making a Splash: A pure Water type and picks up Water Gun during Chapter 7.
  • Pegasus: What he becomes once he enters Enchancia.

    Sofia

Princess Sofia

Sofia Balthazar was once the daughter of a humble shoemaker in the Kingdom of Enchancia, until King Roland fell in love with her mother, Miranda, and soon she was taken into the world of royalty. She may have a lot to learn, but with her kind heart and help of her friends, she'll do what she can to become Sofia the First.

  • All-Loving Heroine: Believes the best in everybody and always saw Cedric as a friend. Even after Wormwood spilled the beans that Cedric only wanted her around for her amulet, she states that that wasn't what disappointed her; it's when they said that they weren't friends that crushed her.
  • The Apprentice: Is Cedric's apprentice in magic.
  • Break the Cutie: The narration even calls to how her heart is about to crack when Cedric stated they weren't friends.
  • Graceful Ladies Like Purple: Wears a purple dress and her apprentice outfit is purple.
  • Holy Hand Grenade: She has "Pearl" which she uses to toss orbs of light at the enemy.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: The young princess Sofia is friends with the older Cedric.
  • Light Is Good: She can summon orbs of light to attack Heartless. This is presumably Foreshadowing for her Final Battle with Vor as she uses a large orb of light to defeat him.
  • Pretty Princess Powerhouse: She's a princess, but she sure as hell not a weakling.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Again, her wardrobe is purple and she was able to hurl a ball of light at a Heartless without fear.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Thanks to the Amulet of Avalor, she's capable of hearing animal speech. Best exemplified with Wormwood; she can hear him fine while Parker is asking his sister what they're talking about.

    Cedric

Cedric the Sorcerer

Cedirc is the magician of the Enchancia court who aspires to become a great person. To this end he has tried to obtain Sofia's Amulet of Avalon, but her kindness has made him reconsider what he truly wants in life.

  • Catchphrase: "Merlin's mushrooms!" like in the show.
  • Court Mage: The magician of the Enchancia court and comes from a long line of them.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He wears somber colors, his familiar is a snarky raven (who will eventually leave him so he can remain evil) and the end notes for Chapter 3 reveals the type of magic he uses to be Black Magic. But he makes a Heel–Face Turn and helps aid Chloe in stopping Grimtrix.
  • Easily Forgiven: Despite everything he did in the past, especially trying to steal the Amulet of Avalon from Sofia, Sofia quickly forgives him. Chloe even lampshades this.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: He dislikes the idea of Heartless running across Enchancia both because it means there's no kingdom to rule over and he fears the safety of Sofia. He also finds the idea of turning one's own familiar into a Heartless to be a shock. (Wormwood actually found it clever)
  • Fanboy: A big fan of Merlin, as Sofia states.
  • Hidden Depths: His fanboying of Merlin means he's also researched about the Heartless and is well aware of the dangers they possess.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: He's a sorcerer in his thirties and his closest friend is the young Princess Sofia.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: The fanfic recreates the "Day of the Sorcerers" episode, which is when he does a Heel–Face Turn.
  • Love Redeems: Friendship in this case; it's his friendship with Sofia that prevented him from petrifying her on the spot and is the catalyst of his Heel–Face Turn.
  • Must Make Amends: Requests King Roland to give him back his wand so he can stop Grimtrix from spreading Heartless across Enchancia and joins Sofia and Chloe.
  • The Power of Friendship: His friendship with Sofia is the reason why he decides to stop being evil. In fact, it's also how Chloe gets a second Keyblade.
  • Purple Is Powerful: His robe is purple and he's a powerful magician in his own right.
  • Would Not Hurt A Child: Zig-zagged; he will never hurt Sofia (not even when he has a Medusa Stone pointed at her and just after he petrified her siblings) yet he did it to Parker (albeit he was somewhat terrified that it was a permanent spell).

    Yamper
The Cerise family pet, only loyal to Chloe.
  • Evil-Detecting Dog: Starts barking at Agnes when she arrives at Wanda's house.
  • Heroic BSoD: Chapter 7 has them depressed over the fact that they couldn't join Chloe on the trip to Enchancia.
  • Identical Stranger: He takes over the role of Sparky when he enters Westview, and since Sparky was apparently a Yamper already, he's the most disguised member of the group.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: And not even that. Unlike Chloe and Tokio, he doesn't enter Westview with any sort of disguise.
  • Shock and Awe: It's an Electric-type.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Chloe.

Summons

    The Caballeros
The Three Caballeros and one Goddess of Adventure who traveled the world to stop Lord Feldrake and his descendant, Baron von Sheldgoose from taking over it.
  • Gold and White Are Divine: Xandra wears a white tunic and has gold jewelry, along with her trapped in the Golden Atlas, and she's a goddess who fights evil.
  • Guys Smash, Girls Shoot: The caballeros have weapons like swords and spears. Xandra goes into battle with a bow and arrow.
  • Mythology Gag: Their summoning charm is called Saludos Caballeros, which are the debut films of Jose and Panchito respectively.
  • Non-Indicative Name: The narration notes that it's actually "Three Caballeros" despite there being four of them, but then replies that no one particularly cares.

Other Keyblade wielders

    Tokio

Tokio

Keyblade: Time After Time

A boy from Cianwood City who once encountered Goh during a trip to the Ilex Forest. They promised to meet again, but that day Tokio became ill and was unable to make it. Tokio hasn't had a chance to reconcile with Goh, but coincidentally meets up with one of Goh's old friends.

  • A Day in the Limelight: The Westview arc puts him at the forefront, since the world the group visits just so happens to be his favorite TV show.
  • An Ice Person: Knows Blizzard, which he uses on his training spar with Chloe.
  • Commonality Connection: He becomes quick friends with Chloe over the fact they're both friends of Goh who he hasn't been able to keep in contact with.
  • Green Thumb: His Keyblade is plant-based and his starter is the Grass-type Chikorita.
  • Irony: His signature magic is Ice. But he uses a plant-type Keyblade and Celebi, the Pokémon he's searching for, is very weak to it.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: The truth about what happened to him when he supposedly "abandoned" Goh.
  • My Greatest Failure: Blames himself for not being able to see Goh again because he got sick.
  • Mystical White Hair: Has short white hair and he's also a Keyblade wielder.
  • Mythology Gag: The name of his Keyblade is the English title of his debut episode.
  • The Nicknamer: He calls his Chikorita "Jenny".

    Dawn Daylily

Dawn Daylily

Keyblade: Mother of Pearl

A girl from Twinleaf Town and a former traveling partner of Ash.

  • Action Girl: She's the first to take action against the Heartless Snorlax, and is ultimately the one to destroy it.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: She's usually a sweet girl, but she is shown to have impatience with Goh over searching for Heartless and has a tense relationship with Tobias.
  • Alliterative Name: Dawn Daylily
  • Ancestral Weapon: Her Keyblade, as it turns out, actually belonged to her mother back when she was an active Keyblade wielder.
  • Combination Attack: How she takes out the Heartless Snorlax: she empowers Buneary in order for her Double Kick to send it tumbling down, at which point she dives her Keyblade right into its chest and removes the Heart within.
  • Disappeared Dad: Her mother's present and well, but her father's nowhere to be seen.
  • Mythology Gag: You can read the first initials of her first and last name as DD; in the dub, Kenny always liked to call her DeeDee because it was short for the more embarrassing nickname "Diamond Dandruff".
  • Ms. Exposition: She's the one to tell Chloe about what happens when a non-Keyblade wielder gets struck by a Heartless, and the nature of them and the Nobodies.
  • Ship Tease: Is absolutely happy to see Ash again and praises how he finally became a champion.

Pokémon World

    Goh

Goh

A boy from Vermillion City and Chloe's Childhood Friend. His goal is to capture Mew and so he works under Professor Cerise as a research fellow.

  • Adaptational Personality Change: When he fights in the Battle Frontier in canon, he immediately goes into a Rage Quit at how battling sucks. In the story, he realizes that if he wants to find Mew, he needs to get stronger and decides to take a step back on capturing everything he sees.
  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: Has the 13 Kanto Bug Pokémon on his side and tried using Scyther and Beedril in the Battle Frontier.
  • Demoted to Extra: Is one of the protagonist of Pokémon Journeys but he's relegated into a background role.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: He's kept in the dark about the entire affair with the Heartless and Keyblades. Chloe reveals her Keyblade to him in Chapter 7.
  • Playing with Fire: His starter is the Fire-type Scorbunny.

    Ash Ketchum

Ash Ketchum

A boy from Pallet Town, who you might recognize.

    Renji and Chryssa

Renji and Chryssa

Professor Cerise's assistants in the Cerise Lab who are also in the know of the Heartless and Keyblades.

    Tobias

Tobias

A Trainer from Sinnoh best known for two things: having Legendary Pokémon in his party, and winning the Sinnoh Championship.
  • Ascended Extra: There was little about him except he had a Darkrai and Latios and no one has gone past Darkrai until Ash did (after four Pokémon). Here, he's in the know of the Keyblades and is Dawn's partner (for lack of a better term)
  • Casting a Shadow: His Darkrai is...Dark-type.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He has a dark looking appearance and his ace is Darkrai, yet he's on the side of good.
  • Olympus Mons: His only known Pokémon are Darkrai and Latios.
  • Secret-Keeper: Knows about Dawn being a Keyblade wielder.

    Buneary

Dawn's Buneary

A Buneary owned by Dawn.

  • Bunnies for Cuteness: Is an adorable chocolate colored bunny.
  • Gender Flip: Kinda. In the anime, the gender of Dawn's Buneary is never made clear, though their crush on Pikachu implies they're female. In this story, they're explicitly female.
  • Non-Elemental: Is a Normal-type.

    Hop
A Trainer from Galar. He's the one who picked the last remaining Galarian Starter after Goh and Chloe.

Enchancia

    Grimtrix

Grimtrix

Keyblade: Magocracy

A sorcerer in Enchancia, once known as "Grimtrix the Good". He gives disgruntled sorcerers like him Medusa Stones that can cast a permanent petrification spell and wishes to be the ruler of a kingdom.

  • Ambition is Evil: Wishes to be able to rule his own kingdom, which is why he has the Medusa Stones.
  • Arc Villain: Of the Ever Realm arc, as it takes place during the "Day of the Sorcerers" episode.
  • Better to Disappear than Be Captured: Seemingly does this by unlocking heart to evade capture by Sophia and Chloe.
  • Fallen Hero: His original title was "Grimtrix the Good", but he's an evil sorcerer now. He's also revealed to be a fallen Keyblade wielder.
  • Late-Arrival Spoiler: "Day of the Sorcerers" was his second episode; the previous one revealed that he's turned evil.
  • Wicked Weasel: His familiar, Wriggly. He even turns her into a Heartless.

  • Dramatic Drop: Drops a cup of coffee when she sees Jimmy's Keyblade.

    Peter Maximoff

Peter Maximoff / Quicksilver

A mutant from a different dimension who somehow gets dragged into Westview through unknown means.

  • Cool Big Bro: Acts like one to Parker to help motivate the kid to enter the Hex to save his sister. This makes sense as he also is one in his home world.
  • Cool Shades: Has a pair of silver sunglasses on him. Albeit he has a good reason; running at high speeds with particles in your eyes is painful.
  • Mystical White Hair: Silver hair to make him a contrast to the MCU version having platinum-blonde hair.
  • Super-Speed: His specialty.
  • Three-Point Landing: Does this when he arrives in Westview.

    Dr. Strange

Dr. Stephen Strange

The Sorcerer Supreme who made contact with Yen Sid about the anomaly and Heartless being summoned within.
  • The Ghost: Is mentioned many times but he doesn't make a physical appearance. Jimmy says that he's off fixing the timeline, multiverses and other stuff.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Him messaging Yen Sid about Westview is what tasks the wizard to send Chloe and Tokio to check it out.

The Heartless

The Main antagonistic faction of the story, being Hearts who have been corrupted by the Darkness.

    In General
  • Dark Is Evil: They're all pitch black creatures who intent on devouring people's Hearts and overflow the world with Darkness.
  • Evil Evolves: As noted by Professor Cerise, the Heartless have evolved since he originally fought them, not only resembling Pokémon, but having the power to summon other Heartless.
  • The Heartless: You don't say?

    Heartless Absol
The first Heartless Pokémon to appear, it's arrival sets off the chain of events that cause the story to happen.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: It only appears in the introduction arc, but its very existence leads the story into happening.

    Heartless Snorlax
A Snorlax-based Heartless encountered by Dawn, Renji, and Chryssa while the Cerises are in Enchancia.
