Elf Tribe

"They are a race that possessed great power and lived in what is now called the Forsaken Realm, several centuries ago. Each individual elf had extraordinarily high mana. Many of them were equal to me. But humans outnumbered them. They fought and were annihilated."
—Witch Queen

An ancient race of people who were blessed with immense amounts of mana. They were massacred centuries ago, with the Eye of the Midnight Sun's goal to resurrect them.

    In General

  • Biblical Motifs: The Kabbalah is associated heavily with the elves. Their souls are reincarnated into their hosts' bodies by placing ten magic stones in the Tree of Life Monument, with the reincarnated elves having a glow of mana similar to light. Each of the Ten Apostles of Sephira, who are believed to be divinely blessed, correspond to a spot on the Tree of Life and together can open the Shadow Palace, the space between the living world and underworld. Notably, their leader's Licht's position on the tree corresponds to Keter, the "Crown".
  • Came Back Wrong: Asta and Luck quickly figure out that their rage and insanity is being magnified as result of whatever price the Forbidden Magic did to them. They agree that giving them all a Mercy Kill is the only way to free them from that torment, and the reaction of several of the elves after being defeated backs up their theory. Patry knew this would happen and is trying to sacrifice their human hosts to the underworld to free them of the price and become true reincarnations. Though this also has something to do with Zagred's Forbidden Magic.
  • The Chosen People: The elves were said to have been "blessed by mana" because of their great magic power far surpassing humans.
  • Facial Markings: Due to being reincarnated into host bodies, the elves all have red markings on their faces.
  • Fantastic Racism: They all hold great hatred for humans for stealing their mana and massacring them, with their anger intensified by the reincarnation magic.
  • Fantasy Counterpart Culture: The elf tribe is one of the Biblical Jews. The elves are a race "blessed by mana" similar to the belief that the Jews are the chosen people of God. The elves were (alledgedly) massacred by the Clover Kingdom, a country with Roman names including "Julius" and "Nero", drawing a parallel to the destruction of Jerusalem by the Roman Empire. The Kabbalah is heavily associated with the elves, with their strongest members comprising the Apostles of Sephira and the elves reincarnated by placing the magic stones in the Tree of Life Monument. Elves like Kivn have Hebrew-inspired names, and they are resurrected using a spell named "Noad Nephesh", Hebrew for "destined soul". Patry's first outfit has him wear a kippah, a traditional Jewish cap.
  • The Force Is Strong with This One: The elves all have immense mana that far surpasses most human mages, intimidating most people once they're reincarnated. So much that they were the only race that could use the magic stones and forbidden magic due to their large mana requirement.
  • Good Wears White: In the past, they were a peaceful race with mostly white hair who wore light robes. This is no longer the case after they're resurrected, however.
  • Grand Theft Me: Thanks to Zagred suspending their souls and Patry performing Forbidden Magic using the magic stones, the reincarnated elves take over the bodies of humans throughout the Clover Kingdom, mostly of Magic Knights. Their goal is to use the eleventh magic stone in the Shadow Palace to fully complete the reincarnation.
  • Hidden Elf Village: Elysia, a village with towering trees and overflowing with mana, is in a Strong Magic Region in the Heart Kingdom that was established by the descendants of Licht and Tetia. After the battle against Zagred and dispelling of the Reincarnation Magic, Patry, Rhya, Fana, and Vetto chose to live there.
  • Historical Villain Upgrade: Children in the Clover Kingdom are taught that the elves were demons who wanted to take all mana and control the world when they were actually a peaceful race. This is due to Zagred deceiving the royals and telling them that the elves wanted to harm them, and people in general not knowing the context of the Elf genocide.
  • Humans Are Bastards: They all hold this view after being reincarnated due to being supposedly massacred by humans from the Clover Kingdom, with their hatred intensified by the Forbidden Magic.
  • Irony: The elves hate the Clover Kingdom's humans, especially the royals because they massacred them at Licht’s wedding, and their goal is to kill all humans. The elves of Elysia are descended from Licht, an elf, and Tetia, a Clover Kingdom royal. Tetia, despite being grievously injured from the attack during her wedding, was healed by Nero and pregnant with twins, one of whom survived. Arguably justified since they're infected with the Hate Plague from a devil's Reincarnation Magic by the time they start their massacre, meaning they're far beyond any sort of rationality to really comprehend what's actually going on.
  • Kill All Humans: To enact revenge for their deaths and because their hatred is intensified by the Reincarnation Magic, once the elves are reincarnated their goal is to kill all the humans in the Clover Kingdom.
  • Light Is Not Good: The Apostles of Sephira all wear white robes when reincarnated, and are determined to slaughter humans and complete the reincarnation by fully erasing their hosts' presences from their bodies.
  • Marked Change: They have facial markings when reincarnated into human bodies. After the Reincarnation Magic is dispelled, they disappear from their hosts.
  • Meaningful Name: Elysia, a peaceful elf village established by the descendants of Licht and Tetia that houses Patry and the Third Eye after they learn the truth about the elf genocide and plan to atone, is named after Elysium, the afterlife in Greek Mythology for the righteous and those favored by the gods.
  • Misplaced Retribution: They were supposedly killed by human royals five centuries ago. To avenge their deaths, they try to kill all the humans in the Clover Kingdom five centuries later. They see it as justified due to their Fantastic Racism against humans, seeing them as irredeemable, but in reality they're all pawns of the Word Devil, the actual being who killed them (and he didn't simply order the Royals to commit the kills, he killed all of them personally by imitating Prince Lumiere's magic).
  • Mystical White Hair: As the flashbacks show, most of the elves had white hair. They were also a race blessed with incredible amounts of mana.
  • Our Elves Are Different:
    • The elf tribe look like humans with pointy ears. The cover narrative is that they had immense magic power greater than most humans, able to use magic stones and forbidden magics, and were worshiped as gods. As a result, humans began to fear and desire their power, slaughtering them and stealing their magic power centuries before the story. Their leader Licht suspended their souls to eventually reincarnate them in human bodies. The truth, in the other hand, is a completely different story.
    • Elves overcome by negative emotions become dark elves. They become more violent, with their skin and eyes darkening and their magic becoming more sinister and stronger due to negative mana. Rufel nearly becomes one as he's corrupted by hatred and Patry fully turns into a dark elf once he learns the truth about the elves' massacre.
  • Peaceful in Death: After they learn the truth about the elves' massacre thanks to Licht, with the exception of Patry, Vetto, Fana, and Rhya, they all willingly get exorcised, with their spirits showing peaceful expressions as they pass on to the afterlife.
  • Physical God: The elves had such great magical power that they were worshipped as gods in the past.
  • Pointy Ears: A characteristic of all the elves, which returns when they take over their hosts' bodies.
  • Power Glows: The reincarnated elves all have their bodies glow to show their immense magic power.
  • Reincarnation: A strange variation in where they were sent forward in time to share bodies humans with bodies and souls similar to their originals after dying.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: After being resurrected, the elves do this against the Clover Kingdom for (allegedly) massacring them five centuries ago.
  • Sins of Our Fathers: The elves especially hate the Clover Kingdom's royals, due to their ancestors (supposedly) killing the elves and stealing their magic. When they're reincarnated, they focus on trying to kill the Silva, Vermillion, and Kira families, attacking their residences.
  • Super Mode: Their transformations into their true forms magnify the original spells of their human host, which are similar to what they had in their own lives, to insane levels. This includes gaining new applications of their abilities that would be impossible for a human to wield.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: Dark elves are not a true subrace, but elves currently consumed by negative emotions, giving them powerful magic at the cost of their sanity, existing in a state of Unstoppable Rage towards just about everything.
  • There Is Another: As it turns out in spite of the massacre of the Elf Trbe, it is revealed that there are still elves living in Elysia thanks to Secre saving Tetia and one of her unborn twins.
  • Tragic Bigot: They hate humans and desire to kill every one in the Clover Kingdom upon being reincarnated because human royals (supposedly) slaughtered the elf tribe at Licht's wedding.
  • Transformation of the Possessed: Downplayed, but everyone who is possessed by an elf spirit gains the pointed ears of an elf. Then, as they're consumed by their hate, becoming demonic as a result.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: The elves have vastly more magic power when compared to most humans. However, most of them have no concept of strategy and skill. They rely mostly on their raw power to overwhelm their opponents. This leaves them vulnerable to some of the humans' plans and tactics.
  • Winged Soul Flies Off at Death: After the elves are willingly exorcised, their souls levitate into the air before becoming floating lights and passing on to the afterlife.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Their entire race was massacred by a devil on Licht's wedding day, with the whole incident being framed on the Royals because the devil purposefully killed them with magic resembling their prince's. Thanks to Patry, they reincarnate into the bodies of humans and, once they come back to life, try to slaughter everyone in the Clover Kingdom as revenge. It doesn't help that the Forbidden Magic used to reincarnate them intensified their hatred.

  • Flowers of Nature: Has flowers in her hair and throughout her dress and is a guardian deity named after the tree and forest nymphs.
  • Garden Garment: She wears a dress made of plants with stems and flowers growing out of it.
  • Genki Girl: She's very talkative and friendly, to Noelle, Mimosa, and Leopold's surprise.
  • Our Nymphs Are Different: Named after the nymphs associated with trees and forests, and lives in a tree and serves as the guardian deity of Elysia for the elves.
  • Plant Person: Has flowers in her hair and wears a gown made of plants.
  • Seers: Has the gift of prophecy, and foresaw that the Spade Kingdom would attack the Heart Kingdom, which prompted Patry, Vetto, Fana, and Rhya to go to the country to save the Magic Knights, and that the gates to the underworld would open.

Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai (Japanese), Jerry Jewell (English)

Debut: Chapter 68 (Manga), Episode 46 (Anime)

Magic Attribute: Sword

"I've got a feeling that someday us and the humans will be able to understand each other!"

The former leader of the elf race. He was chosen by a four-leaf grimoire and became the best friend of Lumiere Silvamillion Clover and husband of Lumiere's sister, Tetia. Like his friend, he hoped for a world where humans and elves could understand each other.

A master of Sword Magic, channeling mana through his blades as powerful beams and slashes.

  • Action Dad: In a way, as him and his unborn son are both reincarnated and they technically fight together against Zagred. Before he gets exorcised he thanks Yuno for allowing him to fight alongside his son.
  • Authority Equals Asskicking: He was the leader of the elves and the strongest member of his tribe.
  • Beam Spam: Through his sheer speed he can send countless Sword Beams flying through the air simultaneously.
  • Best Friends-in-Law: He was Lumiere's best friend, and was engaged and expecting a child with his sister Tetia.
  • Big Good: He and Lumiere share this position as they both return five centuries later to battle Zagred.
  • Birds of a Feather: A platonic example with Lumiere, who also had a four-leaf grimoire and wished for peace between the elves and humans.
  • Braids of Action: A Rare Male Example. He normally kept his long white hair in a braid, and was the strongest elf in his tribe famed for his mastery of Sword Magic.
  • Brought Down to Badass: The whole time, he never had access to his grimoire and was merely fighting with his own skills and only one sword, yet despite this, he was able to wipe the floor with Asta and Yuno. And he did it while only in a partially awakened state.
  • Came Back Wrong: Appears in Chapter 147 when he's reincarnated in a specially made artificial body. However, he's soulless because his soul was sealed centuries ago when he died and unable to speak, with the only emotion he can feel being hate due to dying shortly after the elves' massacre. He then proceeds to wipe the floor with Asta and Yuno, despite the latter having been powered up.
  • Combination Attack:
    • He can combine his Sword Magic with Lumiere's Light Magic to give allies a protective aura that boosts their speed.
    • With Vangeance's World Tree Magic he tells all the elves the truth regarding the massacre.
  • Cool Sword: He was the original wielder of Asta's swords. When used by him they're shining, almost white blades as opposed to the rusted, black appearance when held by Asta due to the effects of anti-magic.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Shortly after reincarnating he wipes the floor with Yuno and Asta.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: He once wanted humans and elves to get along and befriended the first Wizard King. Licht was even to marry his sister, with whom he had a child together, wanting it to be a bridge connecting the two races. But during their wedding, the village was attacked by Zagred, and as a result, all the elves at his wedding died.
  • Dead All Along: It turns out that the man that we thought was Licht was someone else; the real Licht has been dead for centuries.
  • Demonic Possession: Defied. To stop Zagred from taking over his body, he used the magic stones to transform into a giant demon, asking Lumiere to kill him before doing so.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Orchestrated by Zagred, he crossed this after his tribe and newly-wed wife were massacred seemingly by humans. Although Lumiere manages to tell him the truth, it's too late as his four-leaf clover grimoire became the five-leaf grimoire that would eventually belong to Asta.
  • Dual Wielding: Does this after taking back his Demon-Dweller Sword from Asta to use with the Demon-Destroyer Sword. Afterwards he wields solely the Demon-Dweller Sword, with Asta's grimoire taking in the other blade.
  • Elfeminate: Looked much more feminine than the other elves, though there was still a noticeable amount of masculinity in him.
  • Energy Absorption: The original owner of Asta's Demon Dweller Sword. After regaining it, he uses it to absorb Yuno's giant blast of Spirit Wind Magic and unleash it on Asta and Yuno, sending them crashing down from the sky.
  • Face–Monster Turn: After falling into despair from the elves' massacre, to prevent Zagred from taking over his body he uses the magic stones to turn into a giant demon, asking Lumiere to kill him.
  • Famous Ancestor: He's the ancestor of the elves living in Elysia. Tetia survived thanks to Nero and was pregnant with twins, one of whom survived and whose descendants live in a village in a Strong Magic Region in the Heart Kingdom.
  • Fantastic Racism: Subverted. "Licht" hates all humans, but the real Licht liked them and thought that humans and elves could understand each other, and he would help anyone, even the human woman who would later become his bride.
  • Flash Step: He's so fast that he instantaneously appears next to Asta, who couldn't even detect his ki before he noticed. Yuno even thinks it's teleportation.
  • Full-Contact Magic: He uses his Sword Magic through swinging his swords so fast that he can unleash a barrage of mana slashes that are almost instantaneous.
  • Go Out with a Smile: He smiles as he is willingly exorcised after being reincarnated, thankful for seeing the future's possibilities and the Clover Kingdom mages for helping defeat Zagred. He thanks Yuno for allowing him to fight alongside his unborn son and entrusts his grimoire to Asta.
  • Greater-Scope Paragon:
    • As the leader of the elf tribe, he shared Lumiere's dream of peace between the elves and the Clover Kingdom.
    • He was also the original owner of Asta's grimoire and anti-magic swords. Before he gets exorcised he happily entrusts Asta with them.
  • Identical Ancestor: Licht's male descendant through his and Tetia's surviving twin child heavily resembles him.
  • Interspecies Friendship: He was friends with the first Wizard King and even was to marry Tetia, his younger sister.
  • Interspecies Romance: Had a child with Tetia, the first Wizard King's sister, and hoped that it would act as the bridge connecting the two races.
  • Laser Blade: Flashbacks show that he could use his magic to create a blade out of mana.
  • Light Is Good: His name means "light", his swords are a silvery white, and he has white hair and clothes. He was also the benevolent leader of the Elf Tribe who wished for peace with the humans, and shortly after his soul is unsealed he joins the fight against Zagred.
  • Lightning Bruiser: He's fast enough to overwhelm Black Asta and Yuno while he uses Spirit Dive and trounces them with his the mana beams generated from his sword magic.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy: He has long white hair that he braided, along with effeminate features as an elf.
  • Master Swordsman: Given that his magic is based on swords. While he was alive Licht was famed for his mastery of Sword Magic. Even in only his half-awakened state, he can overpower both Asta and Yuno with his swordsmanship.
  • Meaningful Name: His name means "light" in a few languages.
  • Nice Guy: Probably one of the nicest guys seen so far, given that he assured Patry that he enjoyed seeing him, despite Rhya's complaints, and would gladly spend time with humans and learn from them.
  • Non-Indicative Name: With respect to his magic. You'd think that with a name that means "light", he used Light Magic, but no, his magic was Sword Magic.
  • No-Sell: Thanks to the Energy Absorption of his newly-regained Demon-Dweller Sword he does this two Yuno's Spirit Storm twice, even when he uses Mana Zone the second time.
  • Older Than They Look: He was apparently the leader of the elf race, but looked like a really young man in most of the flashbacks he's seen in.
  • One-Winged Angel: He intentionally became the giant demon to prevent Zagred from taking over his body. As a demon he caused great destruction until Lumiere was able to defeat him.
  • Our Demons Are Different: He became a demon by using the magic stones, turning into a giant, multi-armed monster different from the devils from the underworld that are seen later in the story.
  • Paint It Black: Inverted. Licht taking back his Demon-Dweller Sword turns it back to its almost-white silver appearance when he originally wielded them, in contrast to its rusted black look when Asta wields it thanks to his devil's Anti-Magic. When Asta takes his Demon-Destroyer Sword and the Demon-Dweller Sword back when Licht passes on, they take on the rusted, black look.
  • Posthumous Character: He died long before "Licht" first makes his first appearance in the present. Although the true Licht has now appeared as well, thanks to Patry's reincarnation spell.
  • Power Floats: Once the real Licht appears in the present, it's noted that he's not floating through the use of any kind of flight magic, but is made buoyant by the sheer density of his mana.
  • Precursor Hero: He was the elf tribe leader and the best friend of the first Wizard King Lumiere, with whom he wished for a future of coexistence between elves and humans. Together, they foiled Zagred's plan to gain a body and five-leaf grimoire, and return five centuries later to work with the Magic Knights of the present-day to finally defeat him.
  • Rescue Romance: Licht first met Tetia when he saved her from a magical tornado. They later conceived a child and married at their tragic wedding, which led to both their deaths.
  • The Reveal: The giant demon skull seen in Chapter 1 that is the landmark of Hage? That's actually his.
  • The Soulless: He is this after being reincarnated as his soul was sealed centuries ago. Secre returns it shortly after unsealing Lumiere.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: With Tetia. They fell in love shortly after they first met and became engaged with her pregnant, but her royal family disapproved of him, what with Licht being an elf. Their wedding ended horribly with the royals, convinced by Zagred that the elves wanted to harm them, with the rest of the tribe killed by the devil and Licht turning himself into a demon to prevent Zagred from taking over his body and Lumiere forced to kill him. They're only able to reunite in the afterlife five centuries later when Licht's soul is unsealed and he passes on along with the other reincarnated elves.
  • Strong and Skilled: As the leader of the elves Licht had immense magical power, with Yuno noting that he was floating through sheer mana density. Yuno also described his mana as being like a "refined blade", which showed when he fought with great finesse, using his swords and magic to dominate Asta and Yuno.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Despite only showing up in flashback events and is only temporarily revived by Patry near the end of his arc, Licht's actions essentially shape the worldview of the Clover Kingdom. Even more so when we find out the Demon skull in Hage is actually his.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: He has gold eyes and was the powerful leader of the elves. Upon reincarnating, Yuno notes his overwhelming power and describes it as "refined like a blade".
  • Sword Beam: His Sword magic revolves around this, unleashing giant slashes of mana.
  • Take Up My Sword: Before passing on to the afterlife he entrusts his grimoire to Asta, telling him to let it walk the same road as him.
  • Trauma Button: Seeing the elves possessing Klaus and Hamon defeated by Asta and Yuno reminds him of the elf genocide, causing a soulless Licht to fight the two.
  • Walking Spoiler: That he's different from the Licht of the present makes it hard to talk about "Licht" without revealing his true identity.
  • Wave-Motion Gun: Using the combined magic power of all the elves, he can use "Ultimate Sword Magic: Demon-Dweller Sword — Conquering Eon" to unleash a giant blast of mana. It destroys Zagred's entire body except his heart.
  • Wedding Smashers: He was to wed Tetia, a human, but their wedding ended horribly because of Zagred's machinations.
  • World's Strongest Man: He was the strongest member of the Elf Tribe, a race of beings who were worshipped as deities in the past whose magical power far outclassed humans. He was implied to be equal in power to Lumiere, who was reputed to be the strongest mage of the Clover Kingdom in their era.

Debut: Chapter 134 (Manga), Episode 36 (Anime)

Magic Attribute: Mirror

An elf who is brought back to life in Gauche Adlai's body.

  • Big Brother Instinct: Like his host Gauche, his favorite person is his younger sister and he's very protective of her.
  • Combination Attack:
    • Combines his magic with Patry's Light Magic to ricochet his light blades with mirrors to attack the Black Bulls multiple times.
    • He uses his Mirror Magic in combination with his sister Ecra's Eye Magic to paralyze the Black Bulls and block their magic.
  • Dying as Yourself: After he's defeated he realizes that the reincarnation magic is corrupting his thoughts and will soon cause him to lose control of himself. He asks Asta to free himself and his sister, to which he complies.
  • Energy Weapon: Using Gauche's Mirror Magic he can fire beams from his powers.
  • Identical Stranger: Even as an elf he looked identical to Gauche, with the only differences in their appearance being his hair color and ears.
  • Magic Mirror: He uses Mirror Magic, letting him reflect light into powerful beams and have the Black Bulls fall trap to his sister's Eye Magic.
  • Meaningful Name: His name can be pronounced as "Droit" which means "right" in French, which is the opposite of "gauche", French for "left".
  • Spell My Name With An S: His name has been spelled as both "Drowa" and "Droit" in official sources.

    Lira

Lira

Voiced by: Natsuki Hanae (Japanese), Derick Snow (English)

Debut: Chapter 134 (Manga), Episode 87 (Anime)

Magic Attribute: Picture

An elf who is brought back to life in Rill Boisemortier's body.

  • Art Attacker: Like most of the elves, his magic is the same as his host body, in this case Rill's Picture Magic. In his case his art is much more monstrous.
  • Elemental Powers: Picture Magic can use any element painted. His Four-Headed Lindworm releases an elemental blast from each of its four mouths.
  • Imagination-Based Superpower: His Magic is based on creating paintings. He's defeated soon after Charmy starts eating his magical paintings faster than he can imagine and draw.
  • Living Drawing: His Picture Magic manifests drawings of giant monsters.
  • Logical Weakness: He fights entirely with magical constructs. When Charmy manifests her dwarf heritage, she gains Food Magic, allowing her to consume magic. As a result, she literally eats everything he throws at her.
  • Mad Artist: He's jovial but, like the other elves, hates humans, with his negative emotions expressed in his monstrous paintings.
  • Spooky Painting: Fitting with Lira's anger, he uses Rill's Picture Magic in much more nightmarish ways. The drawn monsters include giant snakes, a cyclops, and human-faced wyverns: Charmy summates it nicely:
"And where am I?! Oh. In hell."
  • This Cannot Be!: He's surprised when Charmy uses her Food Magic to devour his magical drawings.

Voiced by: Mariya Ise (Japanese), Jad Saxton (English)

Debut: Chapter 182 (Manga), Episode 110 (Anime)

Magic Attribute: Dream

An elf who is brought back to life in Dorothy Unsworth's body.

  • Dream Weaver: She uses Dream Magic, able to create anything she imagines in her Glamour World.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: While they are in the Glamour World, the Black Bulls and Sally are able to trick Reve into using her magic to summon Dorothy.
  • Imagination-Based Superpower: Anything that she imagines in her Glamour World becomes real with all the properties that it would have in the real world. However, her magic also manifests anything that can be unintentionally imagined too. The Black Bulls take advantage of this by having her imagine the real Dorothy.
  • Logical Weakness: Due to the nature of the Glamour World, while Reve's able to use her magic for her own benefit, it can be used against her as well. As aforementioned, this is how Dorothy is summoned to the Glamour World. And because it's just as much Dorothy's dream as it is Reve's, she can't just nullify Dorothy like she could her other dream creations.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name comes from "rêve", which is French for "dream".
  • Phlebotinum Overload: Reve and Dorothy's fight has them imagining too many creations, causing the Glamour World to collapse and Reve to be ejected outside where Magna and Luck defeat her.
  • Thought-Aversion Failure: This is how the Black Bulls and Sally are able to trick her into summoning Dorothy. Sally first confirms that subconscious thoughts will work to summon things into the Glamour World by tricking Reve into creating glasses for her. Then she repeatedly yells "exit" to get Reve to think up doors to escape into the real world, but Reve is fast enough to lock all the doors before the group can escape. Sally then has the Black Bulls combine their elemental magic to create a smokescreen, but doesn't explain why, and has them shape it into a silhouette of Dorothy. It only takes an instant of Reve wondering if Dorothy had somehow entered the Glamour World to make it actually happen.

  • Blood Knight: Like Luck himself, he enjoys fighting.
  • Fantastic Racism: He hates humans greatly. Right before Asta exorcises him out of Luck's body, Rufel remembers the First Wizard King's words about making a world where humans and elves can live alongside each other, and Rufel loses his hatred, wishing that he'd been able to befriend humans.
  • Identical Stranger: Even as an elf, he looked identical to Luck, with the only differences in their appearance being his hair color and ears.
  • Lightning Bruiser: He's incredibly fast and has larger mana reserves that make his Lightning Magic more destructive than his host's.
  • Older Than They Look: Despite looking like a kid, he's 18.
  • Psycho Electro: He uses Luck's lightning magic and has a fanatical hatred for humans that he takes out on villagers and the Black Bulls.
  • Shock and Awe: Shares this kind of magic with his host.
  • Slasher Smile: Constantly sports a deranged smile even while angrily trying to slaughter humans.

Magic Attribute: Briar

An elf woman who is brought back to life in Charlotte Roselei's body and is Rufel's older sister.

  • Big Sister Instinct: She cares greatly for her younger brother Rufel, and tries to find him almost immediately after reincarnating.
  • Enemy Mine: While in the Shadow Palace, she agrees to fight alongside Yami against Zagred.
  • Fantastic Racism: Like the other elves, she hates all humans. After she teams up with Yami, she's able to see them in a better light before her soul departs.
  • Green Thumb: She's got Charlotte's Briar Magic, able to combine many briar strands into a giant spear.
  • Healing Hands: Using her magic, she heals Yami's arm after fighting Zagred.
  • Identical Stranger: Even as an elf, she looked identical to Charlotte, with the only differences in their appearance being her hair color and ears. Even their names sound similar. For this reason, Yami nicknames her "Prickly Queen #2".
  • Lady of War: Much like her host, Charla is a graceful fighter.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: This is her reaction when she teams up with Yami in the Shadow Palace. After Zagred is defeated, she tells Yami that she enjoyed fighting alongside him.

Magic Attribute: Compass

An elf who is brought back to life in the body of a Golden Dawn member named Letoile Becquerel.

  • Always Accurate Attack: Her spell Useless North sends a compass needle that pursues a target until it's deflected or destroyed, and can even distinguish the target among their magical clones.
  • Attack Reflector: Her magic creates compasses that change the trajectory of incoming attacks.
  • Dark Action Girl: She nearly kills all the Silva siblings with her compass needles and gives Noelle quite the fight.
  • Enclosed Space: Another Atlas creates one under a giant compass that disrupts enemies' mana. Noelle takes advantage of this by flooding the room with her Water Magic, forcing Kivn to dispel it.
  • Fantastic Racism: Hates humans, especially the Clover royal family.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: Using Compass Magic she blocks numerous attacks, finds a hiding target using multiple clones, disrupts the flow of other people's mana to leave them vulnerable at her discretion, and the giant compass needles she fires border on an Always Accurate Attack as a more effective projectile than most others in the series. The result is a Captain-tier threat that requires both Nozel and Noelle to overcome her by the skin of their teeth.
  • Homing Projectile: She can send compass needles that pursue the target over any distance and can distinguish them among a crowd of copies.
  • Magic Compass: Her Compass Magic lets her redirect the direction of attacks.
  • Meaningful Name: "Kivun" is Hebrew for "direction", fitting her Compass Magic.
  • Power Nullifier: Another Atlas creates a giant compass above that disrupts the mana beneath it, causing spells to dissolve and impeding enemies' magic. Noelle is able to bypass this by using her Valkyrie Armor.

Magic Attribute: Dice

An elf who is brought back to life in the body of a Golden Dawn member named David Swallow.

  • Demonic Possession: He spends most of his screentime possessed by Zagred before he switches to Ronne's body. His "Dice Magic" is also not real Dice Magic, but Zagred imitating it using his Word Soul Magic. It's not stated in the manga itself, but Tabata confirms this in Assorted Question Bridgade no.2 in Volume 24.
  • The Gambler: He uses Dice Magic, with its power dependent on the number of pips rolled.
  • Nice Guy: Subverted. He seems much friendlier and doesn't actively try to kill Mimosa and company, but he's already possessed by Zagred the moment Mimosa meets him in Clover Castle, where he has no reason to waste time in unnecessary fights. Given that individuals imbued with hatred are way easier to possess and manipulate by devils like Zagred however, it's likely that he's rather unpleasant before then.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Baval spends most of his time possessed by Zagred, so we don't get to know him that much.
