Background Characters

    Nonexisty
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/20200416_222611.png
Recommended by: moragasam and Pezzottalte
Voiced by: N/A
A being that does not exist and therefore has no appearance or personality.

  • Ascended Extra: Averted. Nonexisty has the dishonor of being the only possible BFDI debuter aside from Evil Leafy to not join any BFDI season, and even the latter has an antagonistic role in BFDIA and presumably IDFB.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: According to a now deleted Youtube Annotation, Nonexisty somehow tastes like peanut butter despite not existing.
  • Butt-Monkey: Nonexisty has been a candidate for joining the show all four times, and has failed all four times to join. He especially gets this treatment in TPOT where he finally gets enough votes to join (albeit because a second contestant was required to join to make the total number not a prime number) and still isn't allowed to join because he does not exist.
  • The Ghost: Nonexisty does not exist. It's for this reason he does not join The Power of Two; despite Winner getting the most votes, the number of contestants cannot be divided equally, so Two has Nonexisty, the runner-up in voting, join the game. However, since he does not exist, the third most-voted character, Price Tag, joins instead.
  • Joke Character: Nonexisty is this even by joke character standards. Nonexisty is what he is: an object of nothing, much like a parody of the concept that characters are based on real-life objects in this universe, so Nonexisty takes this idea to the absolute limit by being based on nothing at all. As he does not exist, in cases where he COULD join, he gets disqualified anyways for being absent, making him more like pointless vote fodder.
  • The Scapegoat: He sometimes gets blamed for things that as a nonexistent entity, he couldn't possibly have done.
  • The Voiceless: Kind of a given considering what he is.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Two never sent Nonexisty to the hotel like every other failed debuter after replacing him with Price Tag, meaning that his current location is technically unaccounted for. Since he does not exist, this arguably isn't as big of a deal as it would be with anyone else.

    Evil Leafy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hqevilleafy.png
A red, angry version of Leafy.
  • Achilles' Heel: Her method of transport renders her technically motionless, leaving her unable to open a motion triggered door. It's also implied she can't open doors at all, as she only enters the iffy and decent rooms by phasing through the window, waiting until the window is free for the decent room to phase through.
  • Back from the Dead: She wasn't recovered after she got crushed in BFDIA 5c, but she's back regardless in BFDIA 6.
  • Big Bad Ensemble: With Leafy in BFDIA and IDFB. After escaping from the TLC, Evil Leafy becomes the ruler of the Evil Forest and relentlessly pursues everyone she comes across, either to possess them like with Spongy and Flower, or to absorb them into her body like with FreeSmart, Firey, Gelatin, Golf Ball, Tennis Ball, and Rocky. After Book and Ruby crush her, she's revived at the Evil Motel in Yoyle City and begins her wrath on the city, before secretly stalking the contestants in IDFB.
  • Big Ol' Eyebrows: Oh yes.
  • Chase Stops at Water: Despite her power, she can't swim, effectively enforcing this trope.
  • Chuck Cunningham Syndrome: She hasn't been seen since IDFB, although she appears as a recommended character in "Four Goes Too Far". She returns in BFDIA 6.
  • Eldritch Abomination: The other contestants seem to treat her like a Slender Man-esque horror. She phases into anybody she captures, but the effects are unknown.
  • Evil Counterpart: She's either this to Leafy or an evil split personality.
  • Generic Doomsday Villain: No personality asides being scary.
  • Genius Loci: Has an entire population of objects on her.
  • Knight of Cerebus: She plays the big part of BFDIA 2 and 5, leading to the show's darker tone along with the depressed original Leafy.
  • Obviously Evil: Red color, Big Ol' Eyebrows, and a disturbing angry expression. She is even called "Evil Leafy".
  • Silent Antagonist: Never talks. This is what makes her so scary.
  • Split Personality: Possibly. When Leafy steals Dream Island, she starts turning into Evil Leafy when Golf Ball figures it out, which Eraser notes is her "turning evil." Afterwards, Leafy and Evil Leafy are never seen at the same time, and Leafy appears to possess teleportation abilities as well.
  • Teleport Spam: Rather than walking, she constantly teleports to move around.
  • Token Evil Teammate: While the majority of the contestants are flawed, they also can be each fundamentally decent characters. Evil Leafy, on the other hand, is rather obviously very evil.
  • Thousand-Yard Stare: Which only adds to her creepiness.
  • Vile Villain, Saccharine Show: She stands out as being a terrifying, Eldritch Abomination with no comedic moments whatsoever in a lighthearted, silly webseries about talking objects.
  • The Voiceless: She doesn't speak, which only makes her more unnerving.

    Lego Brick
A bright red 1x2 lego brick, whose major appearance is BFDIA 5b.

  • Absurd Phobia: He's shown to have a fear of dying.
  • Nice Guy: Generally has a nice personality, unless someone kills him.
  • Supervillain Lair: Like Golf Ball, he is shown to own an underground factory.

    Camera

Voiced by: Kenzie Bryant
  • Ascended Extra: Went from being a background character made by a fan, to having a somewhat important role in Welcome Back. They even saved iance from elimination in Questions Answered, despite not being on their team, or even a contestant. Eventually got a chance to join the show in "The Escape from Four".
  • Living Prop: It looks like a camera, acts as a camera, and makes noises like a camera. Didn't speak until TPOT 1.
  • Sole Survivor: Presumably the only failed debuter that wasn't turned into a zombie (not counting Nonexisty since he doesn't exist) in TPOT 9.
  • The Quiet One: Has never spoken. Up until TPOT 1, that is.

    CRT
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/42dd8886_cb0d_44ab_b0ab_8d3b9b6aac3f.png
Voiced by: Griffin Weber
A CRT monitor and a mechanical mind that nobody knew and everyone pushed around. She tends to be passive and positive to those around them.
  • Non Sequitur: Her first line, when she appears on Four's bus after Four talks about doing stand-up comedy in the future:
CRT: "I'd see if my calendar was free, but I wouldn't be prioritising it."
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: She randomly appears out of nowhere on Four's bus with next to no explanation.
  • Token Minority: The sole genderfluid character, and isn’t even a contestant.

Voiced by: Boyinaband
A Handheld plastic MP3 player with earbuds and one of the background characters on the show, While he seemingly died in BFB 23, he still makes cameos after that.
  • Back from the Dead: He died in Purple Face's stomach in BFB 23, but he is seen in the credits in BFB 24.
    • It’s heavily implied he has been recovered by Four.
  • The Ditz: He is not the brightest bulb in the box, as proven that he doesn’t realize that the acid can kill him.
  • Demoted to Extra: After having a minor role in BFB 23, he has been demoted to background appearances in crowd shots of other recommended characters, mostly in the credits.

  • Artificial Human: It was created by Golf Ball with her Ideamaphone by having Nine say something cool into it.
  • Ax-Crazy: What does it do after the gang show it around the world? It starts eating everyone.
  • Flat Character: It only lives to eat everybody.
  • Generic Doomsday Villain: Again, It only lives to eat everybody, Altough "Doomsday" is a bit of a stretch.
  • Literally Shattered Lives: It's fate, being force-fed multiple yoyle-berries and get frozen, then finally shattered by Golf Ball using the winner's seesaw.

A David with his head upside down who is Firey Speaker Box's friend. He became rich after winning the lottery.

    Pineapple

    BFB & TPOT Recommended Characters

In General

  • Ambiguous Gender: A majority of them are yet to be referred to with masculine or feminine pronouns. However, there is a possibility that some of them are non-binary because some of them, including debuters Price Tag and Winner, are called by they/them pronouns. As of now, Anchor is referred to both he/him and they/them, Conch Shell has been referred to he/him in-universe, and Snare Drum has been referred to as she/her by Cary.
  • Flat Character: Since these characters did not become eligible to compete, they remain Out of Focus and only appear mostly whenever the hotel is involved.
