     Timeline Master Awe

Timeline Master Awe

Timeline Master Awe, or TM Awe, is a supernatural Reality Warper played by Awe921, and is the game master that runs the mansion where the story takes place. He is a specimen of the Awe species- physical manifestations of awesomeness, embodying a singular talent that they're incredibly talented with; in this case, shifting timelines and warping reality.

  • Ambiguous Situation: Is he from the Ideaverse, or did he breach into it?
  • Dark Is Evil: He's constantly wreathed in darkness, preventing people from getting a proper view of him. He's also overqualified for the Jerkass trope and arranged the whole killing game in the first place.
  • Death-Activated Superpower: If he dies, his consciousness rewinds back to a 'checkpoint' before he died, essentially giving him both immortality and precognition.
  • Do Not Taunt Cthulhu: His response to Avery's Tempting Fate is to pull out a glock, shoot him, and revert time—without removing the pain.
  • The Dreaded: Everyone fears him, due to his overwhelming power. Even the hosts of other murdergames.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Despite A Game of Mafia only lasting two rounds before his defeat, his actions are the indirect cause of several more murdergames. .EXE and Murder U were both run by hosts attempting to gather their own Ideaverse power and take revenge, while Your Final Frontier was explicitly started as part of a deal with Hydroxyl to spare him after he lost AGOM 2.
  • Glass Cannon: He may control time with as much ease as breathing air, but he's incredibly fragile.
  • Humanoid Abomination: He's an Awe, and a particularly monstrous one at that. His appearance of constantly being wreathed in shadows, his always-shining glasses and the inexplicable origins of his powers definitely solidify him as such. He might not even be an Awe, judging by his answer to Stew's question.
  • Jerkass: Of course. TM Awe does unspeakable things to the cast, including but not limited to murder, psychological torture, and just plain being a dick for personal gain and amusement.
  • Logical Weakness: His precognition doesn't trigger if he doesn't die. This allows Madelyn to finally strike them, combined with an earlier decrease on his agility from Demi-Fiend.
  • Scary Shiny Glasses: One of his defining character traits, and the most present one. His shiny teeth also show up when he's bothering to be scary, as if his 'normal' look wasn't enough.
  • Time Master: The name might have been a hint. In this post, he demonstrates the ability to make time only move when he moves, skip time to slice someone in half, stop time to cause Torso with a View on another one and duplicate himself using an Alternate Self.

Players — A Game of Mafia

Amy Nara

A martial artist and detective. Played by Adept Gaderius.
  • Death by Irony: Ends up being executed with an One Inch Punch
  • Frame-Up: Attempted to frame Avery for the murder of Vivi, only to end up backfiring horribly due to the evidence left on the scene.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: She attempts to deny being the murderer who killed Vivi, despite evidence pointing to the contrary.

Avery

A Psychic Pokemon Trainer. Played by KungFuCutBug.

Dookie

A dog. Played by Dookie Idiot Nimrod. Previously made appearences in Tropers: The Series.
  • Detective Animal: In Toontown Showdown he's the one who leads the investigation towards many of the deaths that happen, and he fashions himself after a detective with a detective hat.
  • Shoo Out the Clowns: Is killed in A Game Of Mafia before things start to get dark.

The Elakha System (Finch, Sariel, and Vivi)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vivi_elakha_as_drawn_by_knife_also_transparent.png
Vivi (art by MadameButterflyKnife)
Welcome to the 27 Club. Population: Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Robert Johnson, Richey Edwards, Kurt Cobain, Tim Buckley, Nick Drake, Shannon Hoon, Amy Winehouse, Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, and you.
Brothers in Arms 3 character tagline
Three adventurers from Eorzea who never have been seen together, yet never have been apart. Played by wingedcatgirl and Tempest System.
  • All There in the Manual: Vivi's character profile linked to a carrd which contained slightly more information, most of which didn't come up in the game.
  • Alternate Self:
    • In AGOM 2, Finch mentions having met at least two of his own alternate selves. The meaning of this becomes clear a bit later, when the group finds the files from AGOM 1 and Finch learns of Vivi's death in that game — he comments to the Vivi in his head that she should be more freaked out by learning of her alternate self's death.
    • Another Vivi makes an appearance in Brothers in Arms 3, whilst the Vivi that's in the Murder-free Hotel watches the show. Here, she decides to not think too much regarding whatever implications are abound of it.
  • Author Avatar: They were originally the XIV-sonae of wingedcatgirl and her headmates, though they were later retconned into being completely original characters.
  • Break the Cutie: Finch started off AGOM 2 as an energetic guy excited about the possibility of petting a "warm bun" (Cinderace), but the violence and danger wore him down to the point where he could barely be mentally present by the end.
  • Cat Girl: Vivi and Finch are both Miqo'te, a species of humanoids with cat ears and tails.
  • Guest Fighter: In addition to being based on their players, these particular depictions were originally created for use in Final Fantasy XIV.
  • Heroic Safe Mode: As is common in multiples, Sariel is kind of this trope, the person:
    • Towards the end of AGOM 2, Finch shuts down emotionally due to the endless violence and danger, and Sariel takes over for most of the rest of the game.
    • In Murder-free, Vivi freaks out after the host passes her powers to her. Despite wanting to let Sariel take over, they find themselves unable to switch right away, due to the powers being "too big" to "fit". The very next morning Vivi flees again after eating Stew's cake, to Sariel's great dismay, as they find fronting so much to be exhausting.
  • Last-Name Basis: While Vivi addresses most people by their first name, Ranma is an exception — he makes a bad first impression on her with his apparently-unprovoked hostility toward Kellensea, and Vivi shows her disdain for him by referring to him as "Saotome". This sticks even after she gets over the bad first impression.
  • Lethal Chef: In AGOM 2, Finch manages to char several frozen pizzas while trying to cook them.
  • Magic Music: As a bard, Finch has access to several magical songs. During AGOM 2, he used Mage's Ballad (increases allies' damage) and Warden's Paean (cures or prevents one status condition).
  • Multi-Gendered Split Personalities: Vivi is female, Finch is male, and Sariel is agender.
  • Name From Another Species: Sariel still goes by the Miqo'te surname "Elakha" despite being an Au Ra. Why this is has yet to be explained.
  • Omniglot: Thanks to the Echo, they're able to speak to any intelligent being, from Pokémon to crows.
  • Protectorate: Sariel is dedicated to protecting Finch and Vivi, above all else.
  • Renaissance Man: Vivi's character profile claims she's dabbled in anything Eorzea has to offer her. Throughout AGOM 1, she showed proficiency in ninjutsu, gunblading, and making coffee. In Murder-free, she shows off more ninjutsu and also shows proficiency in fabric work. Brothers in Arms 3's cooking-show motif gives her a chance to better show off her culinary chops.
  • Stock Animal Diet: Vivi may be a catgirl rather than a cat, but that doesn't stop her from expressing a typical feline fondness for fish.
  • Unexplained Recovery: Vivi is back to life for Brothers in Arms 3, with no more explanation than a perfunctory "Didn't she die?" "YEah [sic] what's ur point" in her application.
  • Vague Age:
    • Vivi's character profile lists her age as "at least 27 summers". She later mentions that her tribe of birth was destroyed by bandits when she was an infant, implying her adoptive dads simply never knew exactly how old she was.
    • Finch claims to be "somewhere in my twenties, I think, probably", suggesting he's in a similar situation to Vivi.
  • White Mage: Vivi, having trained in Eorzean conjury and white magic, knows several healing spells and is quick to use them when someone she cares about is injured.

Elise Deauxnim

A writer of children's literature. Played by GoldenCityBird.

Expendable Jones

Expendable Jones is a heavily modified Fyora from Geneforge, created by a particularly psychotic variation of the protagonist of the third game. He was played by Florien.
  • Affably Evil: Jones is (mostly) polite and calm throughout the whole case, and helps the others when possible. He's still out to kill them all though, on the orders of Third.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Jones only sees things as "Good for Third" and "Bad for Third." He chose to kill so as to gain Third more power via the experience from the kills.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Jones uses whatever he can scrounge up from around the mansion to kill people, but isn't afraid to go with the simple route, as seen with the screwdriver throw which killed Dookie.
  • Evil All Along: He was one of the murderers the whole time.
  • MacGyvering: How Jones produced most of his weaponry, including a Molotov Cocktail, a fragmentation grenade made of dry ice and pushpins, and a bottle of CHLORINE GAS.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: Expendable Jones was made for the job. That job being "Kill everyone" is irrelevant to his desire to see it through.

Kairi

A young girl from the Destiny Islands. Played by dave_the_assassin. note

Neptune

An Anthropomorphic Personification of the never-released Sega Neptune. Played by Zanreo.

Ranmaru Kageyama

An Artificial Intelligence high school student. Played by unfortunatezorua.

Rebel Cookie

He's experienced with this sort of thing.
Your Final Frontier 3 character description
An organic rice cookie. Played by The Geek Artist 08.

Reshiram

The Vast White Pokémon, the dragon of ideals. Played by pikafan.

Silver the Hedgehog

A psychic hedgehog from the future. Played by PrincessPandaTrope.

Stewart Ourson Pid

Stew is an overweight pansexual chef in his mid-twenties. Before getting wrapped up into A Game of Mafia, he was a hermit and an adventurer with a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits. On multiple occasions he's claimed to have mental illness, and shows the part; he's sensitive and clinically depressed, attempting suicide multiple times. Despite this, he's generally kind and loyal to his friends, and is quick to socialize with new people he meets. He was played by Madface7.
Stew: "Question: Is the kitchen open to everyone? I've got this idea for a soup, but it's made out of fried cornflakes..."
  • Fourth-Wall Observer: Stew drunkenly rambles about the fourth wall from time to time, such as seeing TM Awe talking in all capital letters and being able to observe peoples' text colors. It's implied that it's due to his relationship with TM Mad.
  • Going Cold Turkey: Stew decides to try and stop drinking after vomiting blood. He tries to go Off the Wagon but decides against it before the final lynching scene happens.
  • Healing Hands: Possesses the ability "Lay on Hands" from Dungeons & Dragons, which allows him to heal people using divine magic.
  • In Vino Veritas: Stew is mostly calm when sober, but doesn't bother holding back his emotions when drunk.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: When he asks for a screwdriver (drink) while looking for a screwdriver (tool). Also happens in Murderfree when he claims to have a headache, most likely a result of his connection to TM Mad and her stress at the end of Burger, She Wrote.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: The feminine boy to Jocelyn's masculine girl in their relationship.
  • Meaningful Name: He's a chef, so the name "Stew" is very fitting for him. His middle name, Ourson, is also French for "small bear", which fits his body shape and personality- protective, lazy, and sometimes shy due to being an ambivert. As for being named "Stew Pid", whether he's actually stupid is debatable.
  • Punny Name: Stew Pid. note  The name "Stew" is also a play on his chef occupation. Additionally, as if we needed more reasons for him to have a punny name, his middle name is Ourson (as claimed by both Word of God and the Discord roleplays). Which means you can shorten his name to SOUP. note
  • Sentimental Drunk: He says that he loves Jones and Reshiram in his drunken rants.
  • Suddenly Sober: Exaggerated; he goes from blackout drunk to completely fine in the same scene... multiple times.
  • Suicide by Cop: Invoked when Stew asks for the murderer to kill him.
  • Team Chef: Very frequently cooks meals for the other guests in Murder-Free. He can get a bit territorial about this position; he makes his displeasure very plain when Vivi and Pamela cook things for the group.
  • Unlikely Hero: He seems like a normal drunk at first with odd quirks. Then he starts getting depressed and angry, almost to the point of sheer insanity... up until he ends up being one of the last two surviving characters, and swears revenge on TM Awe.

Tyrone

A young anthropomorphic moose. Played by Autistic Alivia.

Players — A Game of Mafia
For Finch Elakha, see A Game of Mafia 1 above. For Taimurain Masutaa Ikei, see .EXE ~ A Virus Containment Game.

Angel Aura Quartz

An alien who's also a gem. Played by Smily Trope 112.
  • The Alcoholic: She drinks a lot of alcohol, though not as much as she generally does.
  • The Gambling Addict: She can be seen either playing the gacha machine in the Gift Shop or the games of chance in the Arcade. Most of the time.
  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Was killed in the first night of AGOM 2, preventing them from getting much character development.

Butlerusk

A plushie (maybe) who's also a butler. Played by Ten Of Swords 13.

Cinderace

The Striker Pokémon. A rabbit-like creature with power over fire. Played by GoosefromWikipedia.

Director Hydroxyl

A Novakid investigator, sharpshooter, hunter of foes, and Part Time Dictator. Played by Florien.
  • Karma Houdini: He was effectively the leader of the murderer team, but he cuts a deal with Timeline-Master Awe and escapes instead of being executed, and as part of the deal, helps start up Your Final Frontier. Murder-free gives him a rather less Houdini-esque fate, as his many victims give him a piece of their mind and beat the crap out of him, culminating in Cutbug using their cosplay powers to time-kill him five ways in a Call-Back to Awe's display in AGOM 2, after which Vivi exiles him to a pocket dimension. But as Murder-free is explicitly an Alternate Universe, the mainline version of Hydroxyl remains unscathed.
  • Sycophantic Servant: He genuinely believes Sendri Pilotslicense is the leader who's the best hope for the universe, and never admits Sendri is actively in the wrong, no matter how much evidence he is presented with. If confronted with something he can't explain, he claims Sendri could explain it better.
  • Walking Techbane: Every bit of electronic machinery Hydroxyl comes near has a tendency to break in ways that shouldn't be possible. Notable instances include somehow walking off the board in Mario Party, causing an N64 to spit out a disk before bursting into flames, and breaking a light switch just by standing near it.

Madelyn & Jeffrey

Madelyn is a magical girl from the future, whilst Jeffrey is her pet African grey parrot. Played by Custard And Pie.

Nagibald Komaedi

A crime against nature. Played by unfortunatezorua.

Pizzacatcher Cutbug

The Spy

A gentleman most proficient in backstabbing. Played by Madface 7.
