One of the biggest highlights of the game is its spectacularly cinematic soundtrack thanks to composer Kyle Gabler. Full soundtrack can be found here.
- To start it off, here's the energetic opening theme.
- "The Goo Filled Hills" feels like it came straight out of a Tim Burton movie.
- The very cheerful-sounding "Brave Adventurers" that matches the goo's determination. We also have the calmer reprise "Ode to the Bridge Builder", which matches the feeling of a tired adventurer making his way home.
- Try not to imagine Pennywise the Dancing Clown with "Another Mysterious Pipe Appeared".
- "Regurgitation Pumping Station" shakes things up with some jazzy vibes.
- Listen to "Rain Rain Windy Windy" for more of that Danny Elfman sound. Sweet Dreams Fuel at its finest.
- The dissonantly-named "Jelly" perfectly communicates the atmosphere of a really rainy day, and the latter half of the song, when the guitar kicks in, can best be described as the theme song of a severe thunderstorm.
- "Tumbler". Pure anxiety, especially when it speeds up.
- The songs used in the Information Superhighway portion:
- Channel your inner Blade Runner with "Screamer" and "Years of Work".
- "Welcome to the Information Superhighway" and "Graphic Processing Unit" also help bring out the sci-fi vibes of the Crapsaccharine World that is the Information Superhighway.
- "My Virtual World of Goo". Is this World of Goo or Tetris?
- "Inside the Big Computer" is quite a Tear Jerker for such a simple level.
- "Are You Coming Home, Love MOM". No words to describe the feelings brought on by this tune.
- The Nightmare Fuel that is "Cog in the Machine". What is the cause behind the children's screams?
- "The Burning Man" is another dose of Nightmare Fuel, and those metallic wails perfectly fit the atmosphere of the dirty, dark, industrial levels where this music plays.
- Special mention goes out to the fan-favorite tune "Red Carpet Extend-o-matic". While only the first minute of the song is used in-game, the rest of the song is an absolute earworm - the catchiest song of the OST.
- The ever-triumphant “Best of Times” sounds like something you'd hear if you successfully accomplished a daunting task, like climbing a huge mountain.
- And for the end, "The Last of the Goo Balls and the Telescope Operator", a combination of fairy-tale and anticipatory music as you tackle the last and the most difficult levels.
