Original Compositions

  • Pastel Wind is a serene, fast-paced melody that captures the feeling of a forest run. This track debuted in VLDC 8 and has appeared in several hacks since, such as Mario Must Die 3.
  • "Can You Feel - 炎色鳥" debuted in the vaporwave world of VLDC 9, and it is absolutely astounding what Amber "Torchkas" Inotori was able to do within the limitations of the SNES' hardware. (For those curious, this is what the track sounds like uncompressed.) It received further recognition upon appearing in the hack Mario's Mystery Meat.

Ports

  • VLDC 9's rendition of Casino Night Zone, used in the level Gambly Night, makes playing in the casino feel just as lively as ever.
  • Ghost Fight gives the secret exit area where the power is off a haunting feel, making it seem like the ghost noises are coming from the Boos in the level.
  • VLDC 9's version of Taking Over the Halberd is the Kirby Super Star version, and plays during Ice Cutting Site, a fast-paced level that ranked highly.
  • VLDC X's version of The Imperial March gives the Death Star level the feel of the Empire's might. Mario's infiltration of the battlestation has the epic John Williams theme such a level deserves.
  • VLDC 12's Space Cave Rescue uses the Brinstar Overgrown With Vegetation Area theme, and it's just as awesome as it was in its source game.

Remixes

  • VLDC 7's mountain theme is an upbeat remix of "Here We Go" that is said to be one of the happiest songs on the site.
