KanColle's vast popularity is partly due to its incredible soundtrack, some of which has made its way onto jukeboxes in Japan.

Anime Themes

  • The opening theme, "海色(Miiro)" by AKINO from bless4 (yes, THE AKINO who sang all three of Aquarion's openings) is an absolute banger, combining the aesthetics of punk and rock with her powerful voice and with meaningful lyrics that asks us not to forget the history of the ships, you got a masterpiece that is one of the best anime opening songs of 2015. Not so surprisingly, this is viewed as a Suspiciously Similar Song to "Saviour of Song".
  • The Ending theme, 吹雪(Fubuki) by Shiena Nishizawa is equally as awesome as the opening. Being named after the titular main character of the anime, it manages to fit in all the Fubuki class destroyers' names into the song.
    • Now with a version sung by Sumire Uesaka, Fubuki's voice actress.
    • So is NANO's cover of the song in the Memorial Compilation Album. Yes, that NANO who performed the opening of Arpeggio of Blue Steel Ars Nova alongside My First Story.
  • The movie theme, 帰還(Kikan) by Shiena Nishizawa starts slow by reminiscing the good old days before it kicks into high gear in the chorus which sings about (The ship girls) definitely returning, through smoke and storm, to the Admiral's side. Now comes with a cover version by Yumi Tanibe (voice actress of Yuudachi, Shiratsuyu, Shigure, Murasame and others).

Sortie-based Themes

  • In the second part of AL/MI event, the MI Sortie Theme plays when your fleet attacks the Island of Midway, which is quite enthralling as you can imagine an all-out carrier battle.
  • New 'Maritime Escort Fleet' sail out!, the theme in 1-6, reflects your daring patrol fleet against the abyssal fleet.
  • "Chinjufu Sanma Matsuri" (鎮守府秋刀魚祭り), which was added to specific nodes designated as "fisheries" for the Autumn 2015 mini-event, is quite a catchy melody. "A sore sore sore!" The remixed version, "Chinjufu Sanma Matsuri Kai" (鎮守府秋刀魚祭り改), makes its triumphant return for the 2016 Fall season Saury event, and it's just as catchy. "Yoi! Yoi! Yoishou!" The "Return of Chinjufu Sanma Matsuri Main Theme" in 2021 is also awesome, despite omitting the vocal parts.

Boss Themes

  • Not Going Back, the Spring 2015 Event Extra Stage boss theme. An Abyssal love song and a leitmotif of the Abyssal Fleet as a whole.
  • Sink Sink, the Dark Reprise version of Hiryu's Counterattack and played on the 1st Extra Operations stage of the AL/MI stage.
  • Night Battle Ambush, first heard at the Fall 2015 event, is catchy (because of the humming) and scary (since it reflects on how hellish Night Battles are).
  • The Boss Theme is heard in the Summer 2016 event, and has a One-Woman Wail which strangely fits the coming of a queen...
  • Final Boss Theme of the Fall 2016 event boasts a lyrical electro-rock tune, which is packed with catchiness as part of the event goes completely Nuke 'em.
  • The E-7 boss theme of Summer 2017 is majestic, powerful, and will bless your ears after passing a gauntlet of four fleets with Princess flagships. It invokes the feeling that, after you've come out on top, the fight hasn't ended.
  • E-7 boss theme for Rainy/Summer 2020, a requiem for elite pilots involved in the Battle of Santa Cruz, or Abyssal Hornet's leitmotif, depending on how the lyrics are interpreted. The haunting vocals combined with the instrumental makes it very fitting as a last boss theme.
  • E-3 boss theme for Summer 2021, the aptly named "Operation Pedestal" is nothing short of being majestic, powerful and really drives in the sense of despair, especially the One-Woman Wail humming in the background. Despite the event being a hellhole for players, at least the BGM was a banger.

Character Themes

  • The Shoukaku sisters' theme song, 二羽鹤 (Two Cranes), is awesome and tearjerking at the same time, summarizing the sisters' service history and their love for each other.
  • "Birth of Jets", played whenever the armored Shoukaku-class is in Akashi's Arsenal as the official theme for the introduction of jet aircraft.
  • The post-Summer 2017 event patch added Tsukiyomi (Moonlit Sea) into the mix, with a heartwarming lyrics for the Akizuki-class.
