The music in this show is truly outrageous!

Jem and the Holograms

  • "Music is Magic" is Jem and the Holograms at their triumphant best when they win the talent contest against the Misfits despite several attempts at sabotage. And it also really showcases Britta Phillips' singing ability with the way she nails those long notes.
  • "Imagine Me" is a song any hard-working adult can relate to. It depicts an overworked Jerrica dreaming about how much she wants to just ditch her real self's responsibilities and be free to live her life to the fullest like Jem.

The Misfits

  • "Universal Appeal" is the quintessential Misfits song. Good lyrics, awesome music, and it's all about Pizzazz, her ego the size of the Milky Way, and how she's gonna eclipse Jem.
  • "I Am a Giant", though told from the perspective of a "bad girl", also happens to be a fun "I Am" Song about self-assertion.
  • "There Ain't Nobody Better". Even though it's a rip off of one of Jem's songs (and it's narcissistic too), the music is just brilliant.
  • "Top of the Charts". On top of having a kickass beat to it, it's just so satisfying seeing The Misfits finally winning one. The cherry on top is how Pizzazz made both the Holograms and Stingers part of her group.

The Stingers

  • "Destiny" is one of the few songs in the series to use its lyrics to comment on both the narrative and all of the band members at the same time (as opposed to highlighting a single plot point or character). By using a double meaning of "destiny" to juxtapose Rapture's latest Phony Psychic con with Riot and Minx's plans to breakup and steal the affections of Jem and Rio, it manages to be a great plot vehicle for the episode with some nice lyrics and interesting visuals of Rapture posing as an oracle.
  • "Mind Games" is the personification of the Manipulative Bastard trope. The Misfits will sing about how they're better than everyone, but the Stingers will sing about how they're better than everyone AND how they'll play with people's lives for their own amusement.

Other Singers, Solos, Duets, and Group Songs

  • "Click Clash" is the first of a few duets between the Holograms and the Misfits, although it's more of a musical duel between the two. The Holograms are singing about how great it is to be stars, while the Misfits are singing that they'll take the Holograms down no matter what.
  • Despite the fact that their singing voices don't sound anything like their speaking voices, Kimber and Stormer get a duet together in "The Bands Break Up" after leaving the Holograms and Misfits. The song, "I'm Okay", is relatively simple, but still very powerful and heartwarming, as it helps the two women reaffirm their faith and confidence in themselves regardless of what life throws at them. It also serves as the catalyst for their friendship.
  • "I'm Gonna Change" is barely a minute and a half long, and it manages to perfectly explore and expand upon Roxy's personality, fears, and aspirations, showing her desire to want more for herself and briefly highlighting her friendship with Stormer.
  • Krissie of the Starlight Girls got to deliver bratty child star Dominic an awesome "The Reason You Suck" Speech in song form, "You May Be a Star".
