aka: Hatsune Miku

Go To

A subpage for the Vocaloid awesome music page.

  • 01_Ballade is the demo song that started it all and is a beautiful one at that, despite its short length. This little song would receive a later full version titled Hoshi no Kakera/Fragments of a Star, which is a very beautiful ballad piece that takes what was nothing more than a little demo track to star reaching new heights.
  • "1/6 -out of the gravity-" by Vocaliod-P is Heartwarming.
  • T-POCKET's "1925" will have you bobbing for hours.
  • Pinocchio-P's "1year" combines its disturbing imagery of hospitals and the human body, its depressing, existential lyrics, and its Epileptic Flashing Lights with a wonderfully made, if not saddening song, guaranteed to make you think.
  • JimmyThumb-P's "2" is a lovely, melancholy song that shows how serious Miku's voice can sound.
  • Her cover of Green Day's "21 Guns" (humorously nicknamed 21 Leeks), with rather good English.
  • "4 Footprints", a collaboration between kous and Powapowa-P, is a melancholic soft rock ballad that takes place during winter. It's a good listen, especially during colder seasons.
  • A non-Japanese song covered by Hatsune Miku worth mentioning: Nena's "99 Luftballoons" — Miku sounds almost convincingly German here.
  • "Afterglow" by MamomoP. A really warm and calming song.
  • "Ai Dee" by Mitchie M features great vocalization by Miku. A major selling point of this song is Luka's amazing rap, in English too.
  • "Ai Kotoba /Love Words II", an upgrade of sorts to the original version; both songs tell the story of a girl who gives her thanks to the ones that have loved her all this time. As usual in some of DECO*27's songs, puns are hidden in the Kanji; most notably, Ai Kotoba (愛言葉) is a play for the kanji of "Password" or "Aikoboba" (合言葉).
  • "Ako'y Nasaktan" ("I'm Hurt"), an original Tagalog melancholy song about the pain of a broken heart, by MJQ, the same composer of "Let's Party Tonight" and "Sa Piling Mo".
  • LIQ's "ALICE iN BLACK MARKET" uses Miku's Solid and Power Append banks to create a heavy yet catchy song. There's no consensus what it's about, but it seems to be about her mentally dominating a guy for sex.
  • "Alien Alien" by Nayutan Seijin is a surprisingly creepy song about an alien version of Miku learning about love from a guy she just met and then corrupting him into an alien like her.
  • Cover of The Beatles' "All My Loving" by her English voicebank. Such a cute performance for a Beatles song.
  • Sailor Enlil's cover of Heart's "Alone" using Miku's Soft and Solid voicebanks. A bit decent Engrish, and sung rather well, if in her own cute way.
  • "alpa", by Powapowa-P (and from the album of the same name), is a soothing, downtempo ballad. Not unlike most of Powapowa-P's ambient songs, it's a good listen for when you want to wind down and relax.
  • "Angel and Devil" by 40meterP, on top of having a catchy melody, uses two distinctive tunings for the "angel" and "devil" Mikus.
  • "Ariadne" by KuroUsaP is kinda melancholic, yet oh-so-sweet.
  • "At the Mercy of a Dream" by Powapowa-P is an intense DnB song about dreams, complete with a Mind Screw-y PV to match. Nonetheless, it's a wonderful song, setting the bar for quite a few of Powapowa-P's subsequent works in the same musical style.
  • After a two-year hiatus, Mitchie M made a comeback in 2023 with "Bad Girl A", and what a comeback it is, as the song is an energetic and swinging rockabilly tune centering around a rich girl who joins a gang in order to escape from her abusive household.
  • deino3330's "Bacterial Contamination". Sure, it's creepy, but it's delightful.
  • Miku's cover of Yakuza 0's Baka Mitai by Asterisque is incredibly powerful and beautiful. This is all thanks to the insane tuning done by Asterisque, as she manages to give Miku a level of range and depth she rarely showcases anywhere else, resulting in an astounding and emotional performance from her that sounds near indistinguishable from a real human's.
  • kiichi's "Banshee Strikes" is a Nightmare Fuel-filled song about a banshee hunting and murdering someone. The instrumental combines elements of techno, traditional instrumentation, and chiptune, making for a chaotic sound that somehow fits the creepy lyrics.
  • Yuyoyuppe's "+BE MY SACRIFICE+". Sometimes, Miku-rock works.
  • "Black Nativity Festival". A peppy, rockin' Miku song.
  • "Black Rock Shooter" by ryo has a beat that makes you want to stand up and cheer, it's easily one of the greatest classics.
  • "Blooming the Idol" by Mitchie M. Awesome and very realistic vocalization, complete with a just-as-realistic Talkaloid at the beginning and a great MMD generated PV by GTama.
  • "Bokyaku Alice", a rockin' Miku song by PolyphonicBranch with awesome guitar solos galore.
  • PowaPowa-P's "Brown", and its remake, "Brown (remodel)", is a calm, ambient (post-rock in the Remodel) ballad, worth a listen if you're looking for a slower and relaxing tune. Even better is that it's part of a series (called Story of "Zinnia and Meme") with songs just as beautiful.
  • "Burenai Ai De by Mitchie M. Um... holy shit, she sounds like a human. Check it out, you'll be blown away, too.
  • "Canary" by Awaawa P is very nice and pretty just like the bird.
  • "Candy" by YusukeP is an upbeat and lively pop song. Another different song, also named "Candy" but produced by KyotonP instead, is a relaxed jazzy song, with an NSFW picture of Miku clad in a Modesty Bedsheet.
  • Her cover of Kyary Paymu Paymu's "Candy Candy". Amazing tuning of her Append Solid bank to make her sound quite different and quite human. And now here's an English version by her English voicebank, which is just as cute.
  • Her cover of the classic hit "Can't Help Falling in Love", with Surprisingly Good English. Never has an Elvis Presley song sounded so cute.
  • "Cat Food", doriko's rock single. The last 46 seconds are pure Most Wonderful Sound.
  • "Christmas Morgue" by Hachi is kind of sad once you realize what that dark dude is, but it is still a beautiful song.
  • "Clover Club" by Yuuyu is a cute technopop song with chiptune elements. Whoever thought such a silly song (about alcohol, nonetheless!) would be so fun?
  • Pinocchio-P's "Common World Domination", an esoteric take on Pinocchio-P's usual existentialism.
  • Mitchie M's "Cosmic Ballad" is an ambient, space-themed ballad in which Miku goes out to find her loved one somewhere in space. Quite the Tear Jerker, but it's a sweet and soothing song.
  • "Cruel Clocks" by Kounan-P. Might also count as a Tear Jerker, especially near the end.
  • "Cynical Night Plan" by Ayase is a groovy electronic song about a questionable rendezvous.
  • "DECORATOR" by kz is filled with so much energy.
  • "Delusion Tax" by DECO*27 is an extravagant pop-rock song that makes use of a stylish beat, along with some pretty intriguing lyrics about people paying to delude themselves into thinking they live the life they desire.
  • "The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku". Sure, she may be a computer program, but still, singing that fast for that long is pretty impressive nevertheless. Check out cosMo's Concept Album featuring that song now that the full story has been written. The entire thing is amazing. Also, the "The Intense Song of Hatsune Miku" gave cosMo's Miku a Happy End.
  • The sequel to Test Tube Princess, "Disruptive Diva", while definitely a departure from Machigerita's usual style, has a kicking beat, badass artwork, and interesting lyrics about an artificial human questioning her existence.
  • "Drain", a song by ELECTROCUTICA that has a clean and professional edge to it, but blends that clinical precision perfectly with soothing rhythms and mind-melting beats along with catchy little piano tunes and very clear, sharp vocals. Those with weak hearts, you have been warned.
  • Zenpaku's cover of "The Dragonborn Comes" from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim featuring Miku's English voicebank. Not only does she sing beautifully, she then sings part of the game's main theme that's the Dragon Language. And there's also the awesome PV featuring Miku herself singing next to the piano player.
  • In "Earth Song", DaisukeP beautifully blends of all her append voicebanks.
  • "Eazy Dance" (misspelling is intentional) is made by the same producer as "Freely Tomorrow", Mitchie M, and is a just as awesome dance tune. There are two more versions with awesome MMD PVs by Raiku-P.
  • Yabuinu's "Easygoing Rider" has a catchy tune and masterful use of Miku's voice.
  • Listen to "eight hundred" by Pinocchio-P, and bring some tissues.
  • "E-iRO" by AVTechNO. Amazingly, this song is calm, somewhat sad, and a bit upbeat all at once. It's hard to explain.
  • "The Endless Love" by HSP, a lengthy, yet beautiful progressive trance track that fuses slight elements of classical music onto an EDM beat, creating a calm yet tense atmosphere sure to enchant you.
  • "Fakery Tale" by DECO*27, a beautiful and melancholic song.
  • "Far Away" by Clean Tears, the god of Vocaloid trance.
  • "The Forgotten Song" by whoo is absolutely beautiful. Miku's voice sounds great in it, and the indie-esque feel is something you don't often find with Vocaloid. For more eargasms, listen to this remix.
  • "Freely Tomorrow" by Mitchie M. It's so human-sounding.
  • Yuzuhiko's "↑Game of Life↓" has an addictive tune and a nice PV.
  • "Give Me Pain" by vainsound. A sad song that uses violins to great effect.
  • "glow" by keeno, a nice rock ballad with a dramatic theme about how Growing Up Sucks. And this variant takes it further with an MMD rendition of a full rock band performing for Miku.
  • "Goddess of Spring" by Dr.Arahata. A very beautiful and haunting song featuring a wonderful animation of Miku playing the harp on a small island in the middle of a lake in a forest under the moonlight. And especially haunting is the ending where the camera views Miku's reflection in the water, but as it pans up, she and the harp are gone, leaving an empty seat. A somewhat low-resolution CG version with English subtitles, but where Miku can be seen to be noticeably breathing, can be viewed here.
  • PinocchioP's "God-ish" is a mysteriously catchy tune, with its frenetic energy and baffling lyrics about the latest fads and... nihilism, apparently!
  • "God Wakes Up in the Morning" is a little bit strange, but beautiful nonetheless.
  • "Green hill zone -Crystiara Remix-" is a trance cover by Clean Tears of Green Hill Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog. There aren't any proper lyrics, but you can hear Hatsune Miku singing in the background, and it's a very beautiful remix with a "good future" vibe.
  • "Guard and Scythe" by Machigerita-P is an eerie but beautiful song about Miku becoming the Grim Reaper to atone for her sins on Earth.
  • "Hannya Shinkyo -hardcore-" arranged by Utsu P with music by Onyuu P. Yes, that is a Buddhist chant sung by Hatsune Miku set to death metal. It is EPIC. The same goes for this action-packed MMD video. For the less hardcore music fans, "Hannya Shinkyo Rock" is a suitable alternative.
  • "A Happy Death" by Kikuo, a soft Dubstep song with Tear Jerker lyrics.
  • "Hayabusa", SHO's homage to JAXA's Hayabusa Space Probe. At the end, you will need a tissue.
  • "Heart Shooter" by Kenichi Chiba is a very adorable song, with a very cute MMD PV.
  • sasakure.UK's "*HELLO, PLANET". A happy, upbeat song about robot Miku in post-apocalyptic world missing her dead master.
  • "Hibikase" as created by Reol and Giga-P is a mesmerizing EDM piece which even hints at trysts after midnight.
  • "Highlight", the theme for the 2021 Hatsune Miku expo by KIRA, is a catchy mix of party song and follow-your-dreams message.
  • "Hope", another epic Miku-rock by Yuyoyuppe.
  • yoyo BunNii's cover of the Eagles' "Hotel California" featuring her English voicebank. Very good English and nicely tuned vocalization.
  • Powapowa-P's "Human" is an interesting take on the Drum and Bass genre, and seems to be about an artificial human longing for someone she's just met and has fallen in love with. The "(a Android works)" version bumps up the quality even more.
  • "Hydrangea" by n-buna continues the tradition of sad summer tunes masquerading as upbeat, catchy songs. The guitar on this song is especially ear-wormy.
  • "I Fly Without Wings" by kaoling, a beautiful and somewhat tear-jerking song.
  • "I Luv U" by MJQ, another English song featuring a very cute lovestruck Miku.
  • Despite its Nightmare Fuel and Tear Jerker inducing subject matter, Kikuo's "I'm Sorry I'm Sorry" is incredibly well written musically.
  • And, of course, the famous leek spin video featuring the song "Ievan Polkka" by Otomania. Strangely addictive, you could watch Miku spin a leek for hours to this song. Even better, here's Miku singing the entire Ievan Polkka in Finnish (not just the "leekspin" portion)!
  • Jin's "Kagerou Daze" is deceptively cute, until you hit the chorus and the rest of the song. Now comes with an exceptionally done PV animated by Wannyanpu.
  • "Kamikyoku (The Divine Comedy)" by Onyuu-P. A really upbeat and cheerful song, made all the more heartwarming by the Project Diva PV.
  • 40Meter-P's "Karakuri Pierrot" is just absolutely heartbreaking... despite the upbeat tone.
  • Darkninjavn2011's cover of "Katayoku no Tori". Miku's voice suits the song very well.
  • "Kimi no Taion", a beautiful upbeat, yet melancholy song by Kuwagata-P about a relationship ending and eventually moving on. Miku sounds almost natural, and the music is almost deceptively catchy.
  • "KOI NO MELODY" by Aura Qualic is an '80s throwback piece that captures the synth riffs and percussion lines of that era. And as a bonus, the PV has art of Miku that emulates the look of an 80s anime.
  • "Kyrie Elesion" by Okame-P/Calvi. The song is just a beautiful example of what Miku's voice can be, and it's quite sad, too.
  • "Lacrimosa" from Mozart's Requiem. Miku's voice sounds very ethereal here.
  • "Laika" by xi-onP, adding on to Space program tearjerkers.
  • "Last Last" by noa is a song about finding hope again, and the strong vocals and guitar work can fill a listener with confidence.
  • "Last night, Good night" is another amazing song by livetune that uses Miku's voice just perfectly.
  • "Leave in Summer, Yet You're in My Fluffthoughts" by baker. It's so catchy, and there are ADORABLE alpaca!
  • "Let's Party Tonight" by MJQ, another great example of Miku singing in clear English.
  • "Let'sStart" (which is apparently too amazing for spaces) is a chiptune-styled love song by the one and only LamazeP using Miku Append Vivid. A truly adorable little piece.
  • "Life Game", by Nekobolo. Melancholic and lovely.
  • "Little Parade" by k_dash is an ethereally beautiful electro house song that's both catchy and melancholy.
  • "Lost and Found", a sasakure.UK song with lovely meaningful lyrics and a great surrealist PV, which happens to make good use of Append Miku's sweet and dark voicebanks.
  • A "death metal" version of "Love is War" (known as the "Pandora Mix"), complete with the most disturbing Metal Scream by any Vocaloid.
  • Love Snow! Really Magic by Mitchie M is a perky Christmas song that is fittingly very magical sounding. Oster Project's cover gives the song a more orchestral twist and is arguably even better.
  • KareshiP's "Luna kalante-Lips of Salome-" is an epic, somewhat opera-esque (and slightly creepy) song.
  • "Rotten Heresy and Chocolate" has an energetic sequel in the form of "Magical Girls and Chocolate", this one more so about the thanklessness of trying to be a good person, still with the same "Dan-dan-didan-dan-dan-didan".
  • "Mei Mei" by Pinocchio P is an infectiously upbeat electropop song with surprisingly deep lyrics about finding joy and wonder in the world in spite of our limited time and numerous troubles.
  • "Melody Line" by SmileR, with another good MMD video by Wakamura.
  • "Melt" by ryo is a very cute, upbeat, and romantic song of how she sings of her crush and her inability to tell him how she feels. There's also a boy's lyrics version, making duets possible. Another PV adds an extra layer of awesome (skip ahead to 3:30).
  • "Melty Land Nightmare" by Harumaki Gohan is a hauntingly melancholic song about two girls in a Beautiful Void that may or may not be a literal nightmare.
  • "Meteor" by John is a meaningful piece of music, with the lyrics relating to the earthquake in Japan March 2011.
  • "Miku-chan no Tezukuri Symphonia" by LamazeP. A cute song apparently about Miku baking cookies for her producer.
  • "Miracle Paint" by OSTER Project is a charming, upbeat, cabaret-esque love song that utilises jazzy tones, a gorgeous piano, adorable lyrics, and Miku scat-singing very impressively. The PV is also illustrated in a sweet chibi style. The Project DIVA version has Miku dressed in a very dapper cabaret outfit, complete with a top hat.
  • "Monochrome ∞ Blue Sky" by Noboru↑-P gets stronger and livelier, considering the title suggests adding color to a monochrome self.
  • Ichiokuen-P's "Mr. Wonderboy" is an awesome upbeat pop song.
  • "Mugen Hanabi" ("Dream Fireworks") by Kamuya Kurai, a slightly melancholy, traditional-style song which serves as an Image Song for the character Hinomoto Oniko.

  • "My Spiral" by NiR-Gerda, a jazzy Miku Append song.
  • "Nanayotsuki no Shôjo" ("Girl of the Seventh Night's Moon"?), an evocative, emotional song by Campanette.
  • Chaa's "Necrocarnival". There's no way to really describe this song, except that it's addictive.
  • "needLe" by DECO*27 has a triumphant feeling, like a song that would play at the end of a movie, and heartwarming lyrics about love, honesty, and reconciliation.
  • "Never Lost Word" was an unexpected late addition to Kagerou Project, and a beautifully emotional rock song.
  • Pinocchio-P's "Nice to Meet You, Mr. Earthling" is a very catchy and upbeat pop song.
  • (Not) A Devil, a collab between DECO*27 and Pinocchio-P. Both producers' tuning styles come together and blend perfectly in this upbeat pop/rock song.
  • "Odds & Ends" is the Grand Finale of Ryo and supercell's career with Miku (being Ryo's last track with Miku until 2016's "The Name of The Sin"), and boy, do they go out with a bang, singing an emotional rock song that also acts as a personal self-reflection of Ryo's own life and journey with Miku up to that point.
  • "Once Upon a Me" by DECO*27 is an upbeat song about overcoming depression, not to mention the wonderfully animated PV.

  • "Patchwork Staccato" by Toa, a soft yet flighty ditty about cutting ties and how much it will hurt.
  • KEI's "Pierrot" is catchy and sweet. Here's the Spanish version.
  • Her cover of Iguchi Yuka's "Platinum Disco" from Nisemonogatari. MJQ-P's Miku, combined with the original song's use of electronic enka beats, makes for a catchy theme tune.
  • This cover of Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" is probably one of (if not) the best efforts by anyone to make Hatsune Miku sing (and RAP!) in clear and understandable English. Here's the same song but with more suitable video footage.
  • "Redial" by kz. The PV is very professional, the lyrics are meaningful, and the tone is just so lively.
  • DaisukeP's "Rera", a philosophical, deep song created for the 9th MikuMikuDance competition on the topic of "dreams", with beautiful, complex instrumentals and an exceptionally well-made MMD music video by HoshigamiRaiku.

  • "Ripen, Fruitless Flower" by Furu is a melancholic yet beautiful song featuring a smooth-sounding Miku.
  • Cover of Katy Perry's "Roar" by MJQ featuring Miku's English voicebank. Very good English and vocalization, including the 2nd voice effects.
  • "Rotten Heresy and Chocolate", a very good song by Pinocchio-P that shows how gossiping can ruin someone's life. It also helps that Miku's super-fast singing during the chorus makes the song stand out. "Dan-dan-didan-dan-dan-dan-didan."
  • "RuRaRa" by Dora is a catchy tune, also featuring an MMD video of instrument playing Vocaloids (including Kaito, Haku, and others on those instruments).
  • "Sa Piling Mo", an original Tagalog composition (from MJQ, the same composer of "Let's Party Tonight"), which also serves as the OP for the creator's other main project, "I Love Him", a fanmade TV sitcom-style series featuring the Vocaloids themselves as cast members. The project has since been discontinued and the preview of it deleted, but an OP version of the song complete with video can be viewed here. The entire OP video done in MMD is a great effort in its own right.
  • "Sadistic Music Factory" is another great piece by cosMo, it's both creepy and catchy. Miku can be scary when she wants to be.
  • "Sakura Uta So" by MJQ, an immensely beautiful song with amazing and almost realistic vocalization, even from Miku's original V2 voicebank.
  • Teniwoha's "Samsa" features one of the most unexpected of crossovers - Miku and The Metamorphosis. Even so, it weaves an awesome melody to jam out to, drawing inspiration from the novel in incredibly creative ways.

  • "Serendipity", one of the earlier collaborative songs of MJQ and EmpathP, has a very nice beat.
  • "Seventina" by Harumaki Gohan is a synthpop song about a 17-year-old girl coping with growing up and learning to deal with her personal issues. It has bittersweet lyrics, so don't be surprised if it hits a little close to home - and as per the usual for Harumaki Gohan, it has a gorgeous PV.
  • Minnesota the Ghost's cover of Taylor Swift's "Shake it Off" is absolutely adorable. And somehow, Miku's version of the chorus manages to be catchier than the original.
  • In her cover of the Cantonese song "Shanghai Beach", Miku sounds so Cantonese that many Chinese users commented "Miku is Cantonese, not Japanese."
  • "Shining Ray" by 164. Also a great Tear Jerker.
  • "Shoddy Utopia Policy" by Suzumu, tuned by CircusP. What is amazing about this song is how all Miku's appends are used, and how the back-up Vocaloids are integrated into the song, it's a prime example of "teamwork" for Vocaloid songs, even with Miku as the main singer.
  • "Shotgun Lovers" by Noboru↑-P is extremely catchy and just plain awesome.
  • "S'il vous President" by Nanahoshi Kangenkakudan, while awesome, has Miku speak her declarations with her Motor Mouth before each verse. It is also the original version of the song that was popularly associated with Pmaru-sama.

  • "Standing in Your Way", another fast, catchy song from wowaka.
  • "Starduster" by JimmyThumb-P is very pretty.

  • "Suna No Wakusei/Sand Planet" reached up to 1 million views shortly after being uploaded onto Nico Nico Douga; tagging along with it is a lot of fanart of Miku on the titular sand planet. It is also the theme song for Magical Mirai 2017, and served as the show's first encore song.
  • CircusP's cover of Kesha's "Supernatural". Absolutely amazing vocalization, vocoder effects, and some Surprisingly Good English to boot.
  • "Sweet Devil", one of Hachioji-P's most notable works, telling the story of a girl who plays with men's hearts. Ignoring what the song really is about, this is still one of those earworms you'll get addicted to once you hear it.

  • Cover of Christopher Cross' "Think of Laura" by Sailor Enlil featuring Miku's English voicebank. A very beautiful performance by Miku V3 English, especially for the kind of song it is.
  • "This Is The Happiness and Peace of Mind Committee by UtataP starts out slow, but turns into an electro-rock Nightmare Fuel.
  • "Time Machine" by a team comprising 40mP, 164, and daishi. A moderately paced melancholy song about the pain of separation. The impact of its Tear Jerker-ness can really be felt in the PV featured in the game Project Diva F.
  • "Tokyo Endroll" by YuniP is one of the most underrated Hatsune Miku songs and probably the best Vocarock song as well. A theatrical synth string section with a steady, 50s American rock-esque rhythm? Yes, please! They do so much to make the song sound as absorbing as it is. And the chorus...!
  • Cover of Carpenters' "Top of the World" by her English voicebank. With an adjusted key to suit her voice better. The result is well made.
