Awesome / Where's Wally?

• Each book tends to have at least one Big Badass Battle Sequence, and some are as cool as they are slapstick.
  • Highly athletic Aztec warriors beating the snot out of Spanish conquistadors while barely seeming worried is especially cathartic for history buffs. Even the local birds get in on it by pooping on conquistadors.
  • A group of evil knights raiding a mystic forest suffer a Curb-Stomp Battle at the hands of forest maidens, all kinds of animals, and even living trees and mud.
  • One picture shows a battle between the Invisible Monks of Fire (who have exactly the Creepy Awesome powers that name implies) and the Badass Normal Monks of Water (who get credit for being evenly matched against their more powerful opponents).
  • A group of humans tries to defeat a bunch of giants through all kinds of traps, giant slingshots and other such weapons, despite how the giants who notice their efforts can defeat them in a literal Offhand Backhand manner. They manage to knock out about a third of the giants.
  • A bunch of sailors with nothing but goo canons defend a lighthouse against monster attacks and despite appearing to be outmatched, they get in some pretty good licks that make it hard to count them as the clear losers of the fight.
  • Robin Hood and his Merry Men get some good fighting scenes, such as when several men chained to a wall pull hard enough against it to bring down the building, right as soldiers on the roof are poised to threaten more Men of Sherwood.
