• Ciri breaking out of captivity and escaping, thanks to a psychic accidentally reawakening her powers, help from agents of two separate conspiracies, and a series of events hard to explain rationally that fended off the chase.
• The book culminates in Ciri slashing her way through Skellen's hirelings towards the Tower of the Swallow, on a frozen lake, in thick mist and wearing warpaint.
• Bonhart goading Wild Hunt riders into a fight without as much as a blink. He might be an Ax-Crazy Psycho for Hire, but that doesn't make him any less badass in doing so.
