Awesome / The Mole

  • In general, any time a Mole goes completely undetected by all contestants for a very long time. Special mention goes to the Mole of Season 8 of the Dutch series who was selected only once on the test during the entire season — and the sole reason the winner caught on to them at all was that the person everyone was fully convinced had to be the Mole was executed just before the finale.
    • Two US Moles fall into this category, from Celebrity Mole Hawaii and the Netflix "season 6." For the former, the show outright stated that that Mole was never picked on the quiz until the final round of the game, and it at least came pretty close for the latter since the eventual winner and Sandy were the only people to put Kesi as the Mole in any quizzes, and Sandy was executed early on while William only put Kesi as the Mole on the final quiz, while the runner-up spent the entire game believing the winner was the Mole.
  • In Season 6, episode 3 of the Belgian series, Bahador quickly figures out from the Mole's reactions during the airport challenge that Jeffrey is the one about to be executed and completely shuts down all of the Mole's attempts to manipulate the challenge by making sure that Jeffrey and himself get the two $0 suitcases (as Jeffrey getting a suitcase with money in it would have caused that money to be taken out of the pot).
  • Joke from Season 6 of the Belgian series manages to outrun an elevator up a 37-floor building to win an exemption despite having to take the stairs for the last 14 floors and Lloyd and Bahador both getting fewer flights of stairs to climb than her.
  • Joeri Loos from season 7 was known for having several of these throughout his run. Several examples include:
    • A challenge where all of the contestants, except for two, were performing sub-challenges in the water (swimmers), while the other two were trying to free themselves on a ship. This challenge would only succeed if one of the swimmers got on the boat to free the two locked contestants from the ship's cabin. The problem was that not all of the sub-challenges succeeded, which left the rope ladder, which was used to climb on the boat, largely incomplete. When the time came for one of the swimmers to try their luck (after 45 minutes of swimming (or staying afloat) in the sea), Joeri volunteered to what was deemed a nearly impossible task (pulling himself up using only a (small) portion of his forearms). Not only did he manage to pull himself up, but he was cheered on by the other contestants all the way.
    • During a paintball challenge where the contestants had to free one of their own from a guarded encampment in the jungle, Joeri quickly became a kind of Rambo. He spearheaded considerable parts of the challenge and saved several other contestants from getting shot through sheer quick thinking.
    • One of the later challenges, where the contestants had to navigate through tunnels used by the Vietcong in the Vietnam war. Most contestants were (nearly) scared out of their minds, as the tunnels were (extremely) narrow and filled with bats. Joeri was the final contestant to enter the tunnels and, as a result of poor time management by the other contestants, had to cover the largest amount of distance in (almost) the least amount of time. Not only did he manage to make it to the finish line with mere second to spare, but he also had the greatest amount of fun traversing the narrow tunnels
      Joeri: [cheerfully] Hey, a bat!
