- Raj, channeling Center, guides a squadron of ships into an enemy harbor:Dinnalsyn: "Spirit, it's really working. Spirit, maybe he is a bleeding avatar."
- At one point, Raj is about to rush into a room. Some of his ex-Squadron men physically hold him back. "Ni, ni. You are our lord, by steel and salt. Our blood for yours." The first volunteer into the fatal funnel takes a bullet to the face. Note that this may be the opposite of their traditional views on leadership and bravery.
