  • Her husband John, while being threatened by his superior at NASA with permanent grounding, telling her not to let VP Johnson into their home if she doesn't want him there.
  • The other wives and astronauts get in on this too, with the wives offering to help blockade the door to the VP and the men outright refusing to take John's place if he's grounded.

• Betty Grissom taking on NASA and North American Rockwell over Gus, Ed White's and Roger Chaffee's deaths in the Apollo 1 fire, and winning!

• Rene Carpenter handing the owner of the newspaper who didn't take her seriously as a writer the 20 articles he asked for and telling him off for underestimating her.
